Putnam Handyman Services did a very professional and efficient job replacing an existing ceiling fan. We were very pleased with their responsiveness and their service, and will use them again.
Couldnt be happier! These guys are professional, clean and do a great job. Have had them do so much throughout the years its hard to mention all the stuff but they have done 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and a basement remodel for me all coming out spectacular, and the best part is i can call them to do simple one hour jobs too! Their Carpenters are all experts in the field, you can tell, this is the only general contractor that ill be using until Im gone. I Usually dont post reviews unless i want to complain but i figured these guys should get some credit, thanks!
I’ve used this service for carpentry, plumbing and for random tasks around the house. All workers were courteous and professional. The one issue I had with the plumbers who came was handled professionally and expeditiously. I would recommend and use them again.

Hired this company to paint and tile my high end master bathroom. The contractor arrived on time consistently, answered all of our questions and concerns which is a big deal because my wife can be quite picky, and we really could see he takes pride in his work which is hard to find these days. The work was completed ahead of schedule and my wife and I couldnt be happier with the outcome. We were not sure who to hire when we purchased the imported turkish marble tile but after dealing with this company we will never use anyone else for work in our home. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
They are very professional, reasonable, walk you through the process. They have done general work in my home and have just hired them to install flooring for me.
These guys were great! They were on time, professional and nice to work with. They took the idea is my head and made it work...I now have my dream bathroom and will be calling them again soon to do another one!
They built me a deck that every time I look at it I find another problem. A blind person could have made better measurements and cuts. Terrible.
Recently hired them to fix my flooring and paint my rooms. They did an awesome job and were very friendly! I would defiantly recommend them to anyone!

2022-06-21DO NOT USE!! Arrival time was 10am-2pm. No call, no show. I called twice and texted once. Someone called me back at 3:30pm and said were not going to make it today. Bill has an emergency and has no cell service. Well Bill is with another worker who probably has a phone and Im sure wherever their fake emergency is there would be a phone. If Bill was able to text the guy who called me then Bill The Incompetent Employee could have texted me!! I burned a vacation day for this?

2021-12-02I hired Putnam Handyman Services to change my 3 old wood decks over to composite decking with new rebuilt staircases. They were professional, clean work site, showed up when they said they would, easy to work with and were very accommodating to any changes or ideas I wanted. I would 100% recommend them to friends and family.

2020-12-02I am extremely pleased with the work Walter from Putnam Handyman has done at my house. I’ve had him at the house a few times. He replaced boards on my deck, a frame around an outside door, fixed an imploded kitchen cabinet and installed smoke alarms to name a few things. He is very prompt, knowledgeable, ensures the work is superior and will offer his opinion when asked. You would not know the front of my kitchen cabinet was pretty much almost on the floor before he fixed it. I definitely highly recommend this company based on my experiences with Walter.I also feel the pricing is fair for the work performed and they are extremely responsive when called.

2020-11-10Just had a great visit from Walter, one of their tradespeople - he was on time, friendly, knowledgeable, explained what he saw and his proposed course of action (we had some door frame damage from a storm...to our storm door, ironically). Backing up a step, Glenn was great to work with, from the first call and text, to the DocuSign estimate, to responsiveness and communication generally. Very, very pleased with the service - and happy to learn that they do kitchen remodels and other larger projects. Theyve been great!

2020-12-04Ive been using Putnam Handyman for many years and have come to rely on their professionalism and skill. Glenn always responds quickly and assigns the right people for the jobs I need done. Not only have they had the skills for the work required but theyve been smart troubleshooters. And always courteous, patient and on time. Plus the fee structure is straightforward, no surprises.

2021-07-09I have hired these guys on three separate occasions. Different personnel arrived on different occasions. Some were excellent, some were not. The jobs I hired them for were very simple. I.e. Putting together bedroom/living room furniture that I ordered on-line. Over the course of three occasions, I have since noticed a trend of things, supposedly miraculously, being dented or chipped. When I called to asking about their insurance policy (since they promote it so much), they said I would have to prove their guys caused the damage. ...which, of course, their guys denied. On another occasion, their guys were totally confused as to how to put together two dressers, one tall and one wide. They mixed the pieces of the two dressers together to make a short, thin dresser and then asked me is this what you ordered? I had to figure out the problem and explain to them how the pieces were mixed together between two different boxes and how the pieces should be put together. Apparently they could not figure that out for themselves.I would not even mind all of this as it is all rather minor, except for the fact that the rate they charge is $100 per hour, per person. And yes, I did have to pay for the wasted time of two guys not understanding how to put together two dressers, and my having to figure it out and explain it to them. I therefore do not think this company is worth the large price they charge for quite a simple service. Two of the guys that had helped were quite skilled and efficient, but two others were far less impressive.However, the reason why I am writing this long review is because when I called to ask how they may compensate me for all of this, the person I spoke to said it comes down to my proving they cause the damage for the chips/dents. He even went so far as to say that 50% of the time furniture is expected to come damaged, while also giving me quite an attitude about it. I receive delivered items all the time, and nowhere near 50% are damaged out of the box. So given the miraculous damage rate, the incompetence/wasted time on one simple project, and the attitude I received when inquiring about the compensation policy and the fact that I have to prove they did the damage (which I assume means I would have to essentially video-record their workers), I do not feel their service is worth the rate they charge of $100 per hour, per worker.I have spent nearly $2K for their services, which, again, is comprised of very simple work. They seem to have some personnel who are capable of handling far more complex projects (though also some that are not). I would advise this company to charge different rates given the complexity/skill needed for the work, since an elaborate project (i.e. brick-laying/wall construction/carpet installation) should not cost the same per hour as a simple project (i.e. putting together bedroom furniture that comes with all the tools and instructions).

2020-07-11Billy and Glenn are very responsive and helpful. I recently had my deck power washed and sealed. Tom did a fantastic job. The deck looks brand new. He took time to get everything just right. I am very happy and will continue to use them for any of my home needs.

2020-12-31Excellent service and responsiveness by Putnam Handyman Services. Walter fixed my shower seal to stop the leaks and was super professional. I’ll definitely be contacting Putnam, and requesting Walter again, after I finish my list of projects that need a dedicated and knowledgeable handyman.
