I spent my birthday at QC this past Saturday and was absolutely blown away by the experience! I have been raving about it to everyone that will listen. The spa was clean, smelled amazing, had great amenities, and wasn’t too crowded to enjoy and relax. Seriously already plotting for when I can go back.
Overall a beautiful space and a great escape from the city. The grounds and the pools are beautiful. Service overall is a little slow. For the luxury experience. I waited twenty minutes and a long line to check-in. But worse was the LONG line for a terrible and expensive lunch and cocktail. There is only one slow server behind the counter to make cocktails and serve deli sandwiches for $24. They were also out of half of them. They mean well, but there has to be a better system than this. Please note, all of the pools are heated and warm. For the price, it would be nice to have one cold option on a hot summer day.
For the price of the entrance fee, I expected to get more for my money. I feel like there was a lack of attention to the smallest details. The lower level had the aqua spa. At first when going down to the aqua spa i though we were in the staff elevator because it lead us to a corridor which was really weird. The only part i enjoyed was the rainfall water table, but I feel like there should be more then 4. People were standing around waiting to use the amenities. I was bumping into other groups of ppl in the small hallways to the saunas. There were about 4 or 5 saunas, some of which didnt feel the slightest bit warm inside. The bistro was disappointing. I was looking for gourmet food and all I found was carrots, celery, bread, fruit and cookies. They couldve offered some dip on the side atleast for the bread and veges. The tables were still full of dirty cups and plates from the previous groups. I couldnt wait to leave just so I could eat a meal. The most disappointing part was paying full price but the full services werent available yet such as the pool outdoors. To end the spa day before leaving the locker room all the nozzles of the shampoo and conditioner kept falling off which was very annoying 😑 All of this made it the least relaxing experience in my opinion.I really hope they can get it together for the amount of money they charge.
Would I go again, hell yes!! This place is a magnificent oasis. From the wellness rooms, to the garden, to the pool, massage and staff. This spa has so much to offer. My girlfriends reservation was mistakenly cancelled, and the staff were so accommodating with rebooking it for her so she didnt miss our girls night out. The view from the pool at night is breathtaking. I dont know how to float but there is a section of the pool where if you stick your ears in, you can hear music playing. For the first time, I was floating while listening to the tranquil music being played. I was mad I had to go home lol!! This is money well spent on your well-being!!!
Overall it was a good mini escape from the city. However it was impossible to get a chair or daybed around the pool, we just used towels and laid on the lawn. Line for food and beverage was about 30 minutes then only to find out they ran out of food…please plan out appropriately for your guests. And no outside food is allowed, try to bring some snacks in atleast.
We had a very nice time, although Ive not been to many spas so I have little to compare it to.There were a few amenities we quite enjoyed:- The saunas are nice, with a variety of different scents and temperatures.- The foot bath was a lot of fun.- The rain tables were even more awesome. I cant believe we were the only ones in there, and Im surprised theyre not the star of the show. You lay on a stone table and really hot water runs down over you like a shower. Its dark and peaceful in the room. Very cool!- The pools out front were nifty, especially the one that plays classical music you can only hear if youre underwater. I could have spent an hour in that pool if I had the time. The entry price is fine, I guess, but its only for three hours. It stacks up fast if you decide to get a massage, or any other services. But if you know that going in, then I guess theres nothing to complain about on that front. Particularly, the dining option was extremely expensive. For drinks, think Manhattan prices +20%. For food, its more like +50%, with smaller portions. We did not try the food because of the price, and because we spoke to other guests who did not review it well. We were only there for the three hour break visit so it was not a hindrance. If you wanted to be there longer, Id recommend the full day ticket. Then you can go in the morning, pop out for food at one of the other governors island dining options, and come back. Youd probably net out to the same cost as the break visit + food.If youre on the break visit, turn up early (like, 30 minutes early) because the line to check in was about thirty minutes long and they did not proactively offer any compensation. You dont want to spend a sixth of your allotted time standing in line just to get in the door.My only other objection was that around the pools there are some biting flies that enjoy hanging out in the grassy areas near the trees and bushes at the Manhattan-ward side of the property. I think it would probably be best just to pave that spot because honestly its not usable when youre being nibbled on. The fly bites HURT. We moved to chairs further back , which solved the fly problem, but then we were in full sun because there are not enough shaded cabanas. (Also, why not have more shaded cabanas? They cant be THAT expensive.)All in all, Id happily go again, but I cant give it my unreserved recommendation.
Truly unique experience.Beautiful Inside or Outside. Dry saunas have windows overlooking the skyline, the gardens and the spantastic pools outside.Either for sauna, massage, a day at the pool, this fits every spot. The aperitivo with the bites is available all hours and definitely a must try.
Came here today for my birthday. I wanted to beat the rush so came on a weekday. Facilities were not crowded at noon on Monday, which was a plus. I saw maybe 10 people there using the spa during my visit. Outdoor pools are not ready yet which was a bummer but I could still go outside and enjoy the view!!Spa, dressing rooms, decor was very chic with a NY vibe which I love. Staff was polite and friendly. Spa is a short walk from the ferry which is very convenient. On the downside, the water temperature was very inconsistent in the Vichy shower tables and the foot spa area. It was either scalding hot or freezing cold. I let the staff know on my check out. Hope they get this sorted out
This is a wonderful day trip without having to get into a car. The views are wonderful. Yes, its expensive, but personally I think the experience is worth it. It is a luxurious splurge. Their website does not reflect just how many rooms they have...I lost count of the saunas! At this point it is still quiet so you will have most rooms to yourself, but as time goes by I would be concerned about crowds. I definitely recommend going as early as possible or at 3 or 4 when the first visitors are done.
Had a great time for my birthday. The spa gave my friend and I gifts, the food was good (needed seasoning), but the snacks were enough for us. We loved the pool and the different temperature saunas and water rooms. But what makes us want to come back is the hammock swings in the relaxation wing.
The best day spa I have visited thus far. Taking a ferry feels like you are truly getting away from the city. Governors Island is beautiful. The spa is a convenient short walk from the ferry. The view from the outdoor pools are IG worthy! It would have been nice/helpful to get a quick synopsis of the amenities available or a pamphlet of some sort. It would have been great if they planned better to have enough food for all guests, as they ran out. Even with the inconveniences, this place was amazing and definitely plan on visiting again.
I am very dissatisfied with my experience today. I came to celebrate my husband’s birthday and decided to purchase the couples package, which just had a 25 min partial massage - THAT’S it. So I paid an extra 330 dollars for that? How is this okay? A day pass is $100 per person. At least give me a glass of champagne.. something… anything. Especially given that we found out the pools weren’t open when we arrived, that was extremely disappointing since that was the main reason I chose this place. There was just steam rooms, saunas, and weird rooms where you just sit down and look through a tiny window? Come on!Also the food, don’t even get me started. Everything is pre-made, even sweet green would give me a bigger dish for half the price. $30 for a tiny cold salad? I’ve traveled the world, experienced QC before and this did not meet their standards. This was a really special day for me and my husband, and felt very disappointed
Overall good experience. Wonderful massage experience. Good restaurant choices and meals are well prepared. A bit crowded on the lower level where most of the saunas and water spas are located. Employees are great. Would go back again on a weekday for less crowded experience and when the outdoor pool is open.
Anti-Asian Hate in patrons - The staff members were very empathetic but didnt know how to handle when someone there insinuated I had Covid (hello, bigots!). This was also the first sauna room my mom and I went into too! A pregnant Caucasian woman said she and her sister should step out because they didnt want to get Covid. We didn’t let this bother us although I did let the two bigoted sisters know that wasn’t kind and we had reported the incident to the staff. Anyhow, the fact that there are windows to look out of in almost every sauna room is such a treat and the snacks at the bistro are another treat as well. Fruit infused water everywhere. Not that crowded and the bespoke scent in the lobby is a nice touch. Got a bottle of diffuser in their signature NY scent home. There was a set of skincare gift at checkout for us. All good! By the way, the outdoor pool should be open next month, fingers crossed! One suggestion- please put a hot tub indoors or outdoors and a cold plunge please. I know many love to soak and plunge which is invigorating. Thank you QC for being here on Governor’s Island of all places!
I wandered in here spontaneously on a Sunday when it was fairly hot out. The pools (there are 5 of them) werent too crowded yet though the day beds were all taken. Its not cheap, but a day pass ($112) gets you access to ALL the facilities including the 5 pools, the steam rooms, saunas, a foot bath room (which I didnt try), etc. There are 5 pools, long enough for laps, but they are not meant to be usual pools, so the water is warm. There are many jets and water massage loungers in the pools. Get there early if you want less crowds. The views of downtown Manhattan and the E. River are spectacular. The vibe is pretty laid back and the staff are nice though they seem a bit overworked. The drink/food line is long enough that I decided to forego it.All in all a great place if you want a splurge & to feel like you arent in the city for awhile.I hack off a star because the pools were just so darn WARM it wasnt super refreshing.
I hardly review anything, in fact almost never- but this second experience here was just subpar and detrimental.I treated my girl friend visiting from Qatar very early on in March and we had a decent time, not great but decent. This second time my girlfriend invited me and decent became average very quickly; the first time we began by sitting in the mini restaurant area for a while, enjoying glasses of rose and were treated very attentively by the staff and the manager Andre who introduced himself and showed care for our visit. We continued to the sauna rooms which were decent but with a faulty door. We followed by attempting to go out to the pool area and we were rushed back inside by staff letting us know that the area was off limits.. The foot baths were ok. We left that day relaxed but wanting the pool experience.Fast-forward to our second recent visit and things have not changed for the better, in fact it felt like a totally different vibe. The pools were still closed! The saunas did not have the same feel to them (see other reviews) and the service and quality of food at the restaurant was not the same, my salad looked stale and I had it replaced with a tuna sandwich that was just not good- we asked for the manager and were told there had been a management change, and that one would come down from the office soon..We waited while sorrounded by tables with dirty glasses and paper bowls but never got to meet or talk to a manager this time around. We did enjoy our crisp cold rose, so there is that..There is much to be wished for after our last visit-perhaps well return after they are seasoned in. The view is amazing and the spa has lots of potential if they get their act together.
Dont Buy Anything ExtraThe manager sees the customer as the enemy. If anything goes wrong, you will lose that money. I would have given two stars if this person wasnt so nuts. The rest of the staff is nice though. The massage room is hidden and not accessible. The staff doesnt know where it is and there are no signs. Expect $100 for a 20 min massage, no refunds. The bar and food is a mess. 1-2 staff for the entire facility. The line is always long and payment doesnt work. People got charged twice and have to argue. The kicker, they charge $24 for a plain muffin. Imagine getting charged twice ($48) for a plain muffin.Protip: get the 3 hour break pass and get out. Dont show them the credit card more than you have to.
Did not live up to expectations. Most of the saunas/steam rooms were set very low- only one or two was fully on. There seem to be ALOT of rules when you are walking around, but no one explains anything to you when you arrive. Food/drink service was low point. Took us 30 mins to be able to purchase 2 small drinks for $40. Pools looked nice but hadn’t opened yet - I could see a better experience mid summer by the pools.
Went there twice in the past week, once with a group of 10. We prepaid for food and 2 drinks per person. We came during lunch time on a Thursday, everyone hungry looking forward to eating and drinking by the pool - only to find out they were COMPLETELY out of food except egg salad sandwiches… they did not offer a refund and were not super apologetic at the bar (the staff was nice but clearly stressed out and overwhelmed). I’m empathetic to the staff, but it’s not a great excuse considering we prepaid and didn’t get anything to eat (egg salad was not an option for most of us). Staff just told us that they ordered food but it didn’t come. The next time I came with a partner and we were able to order food after 20 mins in line and both got sick from it. He had a tuna sandwich and I had a chicken wrap. Both tasted a bit stale, worse than a deli alternative. In 2 hours after eating we had to end our spa day 2 hrs early due to nausea and indigestion. The ferry ride back was not fun.The spa itself is nice but was very crowded. Impossible to get a chair by the pool. Seems like they don’t cap reservations.. staff (as nice and friendly as they are) is overwhelmed and cannot keep up with the volumes.
I went yesterday to celebrate my Friend’s birthday and although we had a nice time at the pool and enjoyed the view to the city, I believe there is room for improvement.First, you need to wait for a few minutes in a long line for check in. Then, after we changed our clothes in a crowded changing room, we went to the Bistro to eat something before going to the pool. I was so disappointed with the lack of options and the overpriced sandwiches.Later, when we ordered some wine, both glasses were dirty and one of them was broken (plastic). The complimentary charcuterie board consisting of old carrots, celery, a few olives, tiny pieces of bread and some meat that even the flies was afraid to come closer. For a place that you expect to spend all day, the type and quality of food they serve was below my expectations.
Overrated . Honestly I hate it. Takes forever to get here. The view was nice that’s literally it. Not worth it . Not enough chairs for people. No one brings the food out , super overpriced. Didn’t feel relaxed . Felt more stressed out . Never coming here again . Sojo spa is better .
We came last weekend and while it was a bit cold- we had a lovely time. The food (sandwich) was soggy but there was a nice complimentary buffet of vegetables, fruits and bread. We decided to come back this weekend and (probably due to the weather being nicer) it was much more crowded. We enjoyed the spa, outdoor pools and even booked a massage.Word to the wise though- They ran out of food completely by 2pm. Luckily we remembered the soggy sandwiches and ate ahead of time. We did wait in line for 30 minutes to get one drink- I felt awful for the completely overworked single person taking orders/making drinks. They have done away with the “complimentary buffet” and replaced it with a “charcuterie board” (consisting of 3 carrots, 2 pieces of celery, a few olives, 6 tiny pieces of bread) that is free with your alcoholic beverage. We did still enjoy our experience- but it is difficult to enjoy the experience all day with such limited options you have to wait in a very slow moving line for! Make sure you don’t come hungry or maybe sneak some snacks in 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🙏🏻.We will be back but hope to see some positive changes in the future!
Incredible atmosphere, amazing choice of lights, the regenerative mask was AMAZING, they have some wines from Italy that most places can’t offer in NYC and still for a very good price. It’s truly an amazing place and the price is really not high compared to other spas in the city that are just underground and even more expensive.
I am giving this 1 star because the marketing and booking experience for QC Spa NYC is false.Unfortunately on multiple mobile devices of ours there were No disclaimers saying that the pools were closed. Also Govenors Island is a remote location and the QC spa Bistro is not fully opened, they will tell you this once you are already their and checked in. So make sure you eat a big meal prior to going. You pay $242 for two people and the rooms of the Saunas and steam areas are very small and crowded for the price you pay.Overall this was a very disappointing experience and more of an Instagram photo op then a luxury spa.
I visited QCSPA with my friend yesterday. We booked amenity access between 10a.m. -2p.m. In the confirmation email it was mentioned to arrive 30 min before and we ended up waiting outside for about 40 min. It wasnt a huge inconvenience for us, but I think the email was a bit misleading. Also, we were told we didnt have to leave at 2pm on the dot. Regardless of that, we had a great time at the spa! Everything at that place is a piece of art. All staff were profesional and doing their best to ensure we had a good time. We will definitely come back when the outdoor pool is open.
I went to this spa yesterday and I must say they need alot of work. The pool is not open...The focal point is the skyline the view and you cant even fully luxuriate. The hydro district was a joke. The vichi showers were cold and needed time to warm up and had no water pressure. Sometimes that never heated up. The foot bath was the same and the bubbles were even boring just plain water. I expected it to be a nice soak. It wasnt anything i couldnt do at home. The standing showers felt more like we were being hosed and actually hurt...the water was cold too. The saunas were nice but there was no clear direction to where everything was. There was no posted directions for the saunas. We were yelled at and told after the fact by staff. We had to stumble across it. The staff was rude and made me and my friends feel very uncomfortable.Even if the pool was to open I dont think we will ever return. I expected more and gotten only a fraction of what was promised.
It’s a nice spa, but our group of 3 lost the last hour of a three hour reservation on Saturday night. We booked from 8-11 pm, due to availability and they said we had to be in the locker room by 10.30 pm to take the last ferry at 11. Not great, since that 3 hours cost $116 per person. Then, we saw them closing up the outside area just after 10, including taking the personal items we had left at our chairs. We then had to cut our stay short to find out where our things were (the front desk) and then change and leave. in all, we lost the last hour because of their policies. If you can’t ensure a 3 hour visit, don’t let people start at 8 pm.
This place is utterly gorgeous but completely fails to deliver when it comes to the most basic things spas need to provide – heat and hot water. It wasnt a great sign when the shower temperature in the changing room started randomly fluctuating and would refuse to stay hot. A fluke, I thought to myself hopefully. But the saunas were a total letdown as well – they were only mildly warm, and in one case even had bursts of cold air coming in!The foot baths and steam rooms were equally cool. My wife and I ended up leaving early as we simply couldnt relax properly. My advice to management – make everything much hotter and better insulated. This is a such a beautiful space and it could be truly great with the right temperature. My advice to consumers – until these issues are resolved, take your business to one of the many excellent Korean and Russian spas in and around this city that do things properly.
I rarely leave bad reviews, but if I save one poor soul from wasting a lot of time (and $$$) to go there, its worth it.Today (March 22), I went to QC with a friend, and we left after 45min bc it was soo bad, despite the long travel due to having to take a ferry to get there.1. The vibe is not cozy or luxurious but feels like a professional AirBnB, a little cheap, pseudo stylish, and kitsch. There arent any chill areas where youd like to hang.2. None of the many saunas are adequately heated, nor do they have the equipment. Allegedly they spent $50m on that place, but any private persons sauna in Finland is MUCH bettern equipped. The doors dont close; the heating is inadequate and doesnt feel professional grade.3. The entire outdoor area was closed, which was not communicated so that neither of us (nor other guests) would have noticed.Don’t go. Go to a 5 star hotel’s spa in the city, you’ll be MUCH better of. Also, I complained, and the staff was friendly but unhelpful.
I mostly enjoyed what was actually open and available (except for the terrible music in the dry saunas and the inconsistent water temperatures in the hydra area) but the outdoor pools are not open and had I known that, I would have waited to spend that money. I emailed QCNY to ask for a partial refund since it was not posted anywhere on their website that the outdoor pools were unavailable and I didn’t find that out until after I arrived. The response I got is that the current entrance fees are already discounted (news to me) and that the pool closure is on the website (it wasn’t when I made the booking or in the days leading up to my visit). Not to mention the parade of people I saw during my visit who did the same thing I did which is walk outside to the pool area only to be confused that it’s stanchioned off and not open. Clearly, it was not made apparent that the pools were not available.Despite the high prices ($24 for a tuna sandwich and $16 for a glass of Mionetto Prosecco), I would have gone back had I been made whole. Instead, I was given an ambiguous and dismissive response. To expect people to part with that kind of money and not provide any customer service is ridiculous. I’ve been treated better when my order was wrong at Domino’s.The thought that I somehow already paid a discounted rate makes me shudder to think what full price will be. They have a lottt of kinks to work out before (if ever) it will be worth what they’re charging. Buyer beware.
I would highly recommend this spa. Located idyllically on a quit and lovely island which gives you a break from the noisy and hectic city life. The spa is amazing, the facilities are brand new and everything is clean, modern and spacious. There a a lot of different saunas with unique fragrances and looks. There are also two great steam rooms and different sections to relax. The staff is very friendly ans welcoming. Water, tea and coffee are complementary as well as a small buffet.
This place is okay.Check in time takes 30 mins-1 hour so take the ferry an hour earlier than when you’re supposed to be here.A plate of food is $24 and drinks are $20 each - super expensive menus. Not much amenities and I think it’s too expensive for lack of amenities, but it’s easy to get to.Only has: 1) alcohol 2) heated outdoor pools 3) five saunas 4) bistro 5) relaxation rooms 6) massages for extra $$$.Plus you have to pay $4 for the ferry & reserve a ticket. You can go to Sojo Spa in Edgewater, NJ and get wayyyy more amenities & pay extra for a massage and food for the SAME price as a 5 hour day pass here plus food & 2 drinks.Don’t think it’s worth it - go to Sojo Spa instead!
For a place that wants you to spend the entire day, there is nothing about it that makes you want to stay. I often visit Governors Island, but QCNY I will NOT visit again.WHEN YOU SHOW UP you will be asked to pay for tips. Why? Because QCNY does not have a settlement/check out process. Food and drinks are also charged immediately upon receiving. The charging wristband is tied to your credit card, not you. Don’t lose it!! Take it with you when you leave! Anyone can use it and you’ll be left having to dispute charges with your credit card company. If you are a bigger person, QCNY does not have sandals or robes to fit you. I inquired about getting a larger size, but I was handed smaller and smaller robe. The management told me Well, we order them, but we just opened. Then the manager gave me a blank look as if I should have sympathy. Fortunately, QCNY requires wearing a swim suit and I didnt have to walk around naked. I did have to walk around bare foot. The cleanliness of the facility is also a concern because there are no staff only service stairs and elevators. While you are trying to relax in your flimsy flip flops, the garbage is being taken out, in front of you, within same hallways, elevators and stair wells. You and the staff walk around the same hallways in street shoes. Meanwhile, there are signs up asking the patrons to wear the sandals for hygiene purposes. Similar all day spas request to take your shoes off before entering the spa areas and the staff walk around with special shoes. Now I know why.... very dirty feet by the end of the day (see foot soak section for bigger laugh).Compared to similar day spa in the area, this place is dull and boring. The entry fee is a similar price point, but the other spas offer A LOT more variety and features. Having a variety of services (salt, clay, cedar, infrared) each offering a different medical benefit is what makes patrons stick around. At QCNY, the equipment is comparable to an everyday gym. Yes, your local YMCA.What QCNY Spa is hoping is people will get a thrill out of different themes. You can sit in a room with plaid wallpaper and Scottish music or a room that looks like a park with the sounds of birds chirping. But do the rooms dont promote different medical benefits? Nope. You just get a chance to showcase the different wallpaper backgrounds on your Instagram. I go to the spa for health and wellness not to take selfies. The Bisto only offer a very small selection of PREMADE sandwiches and salads. Every item is $24 and is equal quality to Quick Check. I’m not saying the food is bad at convince stores. but I expect to pay $6.99 for my wrap. My salad consisted of two ingredients: lettuce and HALF of a salmon filet served in a paper bowl and plastic silverware. Other dining facilities on the Island, offer items like fish tacos and sides for less. On previous stays, Ive had complete steak dinner for about the same price on real plates and cloth napkins. The Bistro only has small knee height tables youd typically see in a cocktail lounge. You want me to stay all day, but the facility doesn’t offer a full restaurant to enjoy a meal.I also experienced broken windows and overall poor craftmanship (fyi, $50 million on reno). The foot massage comes with a DIY pipe. Yes, I was handed a pipe as if I was playing Clue about to kill Ms. Scarlet in the Library. The pipe is to plug up the drain. A foot bath already filled with the pipe still in mean its filled with someones dirty foot water (see above about the garbage and sandals). Again about hygiene, I never saw anyone cleaning the foot baths .The only good thing was my massage, ONLY because the person delivering it was experienced and knows how to deliver quality. I hope she finds a job at a better-quality Spa. Here is something to consider when booking, when to leave. The last ferry off the island is 6pm. QCNY Spa is open until 10pm and offer check in times as late at 7 or 8 PM. The website does not promote private taxi service to and from the island after hours.
I would love to write a positive review and note at least some positive aspects, but our experience in this spa was complete disappointment…We arrived there only to find out later that the pool, which is perhaps the main feature of this place, was closed. No one at the reception even mentioned it, although I think it should have. The aqua zone is just a name, where half of the wellness rooms didn’t work... the doors to the saunas, hammam rooms didn’t not close tightly, which clearly affected the temperature inside these rooms. We must pay tribute to the fact that the maintenance of cleanliness was at the highest level, especially in the changing rooms, but during our visit, some things were “little”disappointing too: foot ritual room- we found a lemon from a cocktail floating in the water, moreover, people in shoes from the street walked around the building (around aqua zone and others). I believe they were maintenance and repair workers. I dont think its in line with sanitary regulations…this place clearly “work in progress” and did not correspond to the declared “ luxury spa”.As far as I know QC is an Italian brand of luxury spa and resorts in Italy and Switzerland, and I personally visited one in Turino city. And that experience was completely deferment form one I got in QC NY.I’m sad to say that It was below any of my expectations and extremely disappointing to me because me and my girlfriend came here for our special occasion to celebrate our anniversary by literally throwing $ 100 each Down the drain just to get nothing stated on the website and other reliable sources disseminating information about QC NY.
The experience offered on Sunday the 3rd of July at governors island bore no resemblance to the high standards of wellness and tranquility you pride yourself in.The spa was oversold,no seating available, long lines to the bar to get drinks and food, cocktails served in beer glasses, dirty locker rooms and a very frazzled looking staff. If this wasn’t enough my 7:30pm massage was double booked by your staff who then refused to refund me the 100 dollars unless I make a copy of my bank statement and email it to you (which I would never do under any circumstance). The entire experience was the opposite to wellness being both stressful and tawdry. We left feeling that our cycle ride on governors island was spoiled by our time at qc.
Horrible experience. Dirty, overcrowded and a 30 minute line to get a cocktail served in a plastic beer glass. About as much to do with wellness as a third grade heavy metal festival.Final insult was their refusal to refund the cost of the massage - which didnt happen because they double-booked - unless I emailed them my bank statement.Pay no attention to the influencer PR posts. This is grim.
Authentically a Governors Island experience . It felt like an extension of many of the other events and activities that I love. We arrived around 10:30 and stayed until after 4. When the pools are open I can see extending the visit another hour or 2. If it’s your first visit select the unlimited time otherwise you might miss some of the rooms. We started on the 3rd floor for massages before moving down to the floor with the bistro for lunch. Sandwiches and salads (gluten free options), coffee, tea, wine, raw veggies, breads, and cookies. After we circled around the sensory filled rooms - smells, sounds, beds and seating. We finished the day in the wet areas with multiple steam rooms, and saunas. Staff were all friendly and kind. Massage therapists were professional and skilled. I recommend booking a massage as part of your visit.
Even though the location has potential QC Spa feels more like a slaughter house rather than a Spa. Starting from the long line of people to check in. Receptionists yelling directions like TSA officers at airports. The view is very pretty however the facilities are mediocre and food is low quality and skimpy.QC Spa is a high volume, low quality place with no attention to details.
Worst service I have experienced at this price tag.. half my day was spent waiting in mins.. getting a drink is a minimum 20 minute wait in line. Food is half an hour. There aren’t enough tables and chairs, ppl keep fighting over them, and we ate our food on the grass.Steep for a $300 entrance fee.
I was very excited to come here from the first time I heard they open up. It didn’t meet my expectations. I didn’t like anything about this place. 10 chairs total for 100 ppl you really couldn’t get more chairs. The wait to order drinks and food was over 25 min. The two bartenders they did a good job that I felt so bad for them the amount of people they had to serve just the two of them with no help. The two pools outside are small. The showers and those curtains are lame might as well just take them down completely because no one had privacy taking a shower. No changing rooms everyone had to wait for the 3 restrooms so we can change our clothes. Not coming back.
Check in took 45 minutes. It was ineffectual & disorganized. Drinks & food are outrageously over priced but that is to be expected. You’re not able to get an extra towel even if yours is soaking wet or misplaced. You may want to bring your own. There is very little shade, not enough lounge chairs, it’s crowded & when the wind blows, the umbrellas dangerously go flying. Hopefully, this place will improve over time. And if you have a gift card, don’t leave it at home or misplace it in your inbox. They can’t retrieve in their electronic system.
I came here over the 4th of July weekend and it was such a nice experience! The staff was so helpful and lovely. I loved trying all the different sauna, steam, and relaxation rooms but the outdoor pools were the best part! It did get a bit crowded at the pools later in the day so if youre planning to spend a lot of time at the pool, probably best to get there early so you can get a lounge chair. I didnt purchase any food or drinks so I cant speak to that but overall a great place and I plan to be back soon!
Lots of room for improvement: guests head from the ferry to the spa so people come for check-in all at once and it takes too long (30-45 minute line). Its a stressful way to start a spa day. Because there was a thunderstorm, they ran out of and dry towels for a bit since many got soaked in the rain. Youd have to pay $5 for an extra robe, even though some got soaked in the downpour. Food is laughably overpriced, but Im guessing thats how they make the bulk of their money. $24 for a tuna sandwich and chips, $12 for a bottle of beer.
Lovely experience spent in here! Nice escape from the city, enjoying sunset, food and sauna rooms! Definitely will come back! What a great experience! Beautiful Manhattan view, enjoy the beautiful sunset🌇, delicious food, considerate service! Will definitely come again and enjoy the holiday feeling
QC terme is always a guarantee. The complex is new, elegant, with a studied design. Each sauna has its own particular design. The themed rooms are super special. Snacks (fruit, vegetables, crackers and focaccia!) And drinks (iced tea, hot tea, water) are included in the price. You can buy extra food and cocktails. The water in the pools is warm, I recommend going there when the temperatures are not very high. If you do the daily admission you can stay all day until closing, enjoying an aperitif at sunset with a breathtaking view. In the changing rooms there are extra towels for the shower, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, Dyson hair dryer.

2022-07-17The spa is nice, but there’s definitely room for improvement. First of all: the wait when you arrive. Since everybody has to arrive via ferry, there’s literally a boatload of people arriving at the same time, but there was only one person at the check-in to get everyone settled in, take payment, etc. This is something that can be fixed easily if you just add additional staff there every time a ferry arrives. A 30-min wait to begin our spa day was not a great start to the experience. We also didn’t get a proper rundown about the facilities, and since signage is poor throughout the property, we didn’t even find all of the saunas (stumbled upon a couple by chance while we checked out the bistro!).The pools and relaxation rooms are very nice, and completely empty in the morning when we arrived. I recommend arriving early (and on a weekday) if you’re looking for tranquility - when we came back outside in the afternoon to relax by the pool, all the loungers were full. I can only imagine how busy weekends get.As for the bistro - I wish they’d have some smaller snacks on the menu.. I wasn’t hungry enough for any of the $24 meals but would’ve enjoyed a coffee & a croissant or a fruit salad.Another thing that can be improved easily: more drinking water. After a couple of sauna runs we were in need of some water but couldn’t find any around that area (we eventually found drinking water in the bistro and in one of the relaxation rooms).I’m listing all the things that can be improved in the hope of someone at QC reading this and make some adjustments, but I also want to say that overall the spa is definitely an enjoyable experience and I’d go back. It’s a great (and quick and easy!) escape from the city & I felt 100% recharged.

2022-06-26One of the best experiences in New York and definitely one of the best spa I’ve ever been to so far! It’s a dream spa with unbeatable views of the city! Price is decent, ferry was included and the amenities are above excellence!! It counts with different saunas, jacuzzis and hydrotherapy! After a few hours in there I was brand new! Can’t recommend it highly enough! There’s no doubt we will come back! : )

2022-05-24Really nice escape from the city - the time we spent here felt like we were on vacation.Staff was friendly and attentive and the spa was clean and welcoming. We booked a 50 minute couples massage and had a great experience. The additional saunas, showers and steam rooms were great. We had an evening appointment and there were only a handful of other guests which meant we could use all the amenities without a wait.Unfortunately the outdoor pool was closed but Im hopeful it will be open soon as the view from that area is stunning.

2022-06-07Elite and sophisticated Spa with an outstanding view of Manhattan Skyline. Saunas and Steam rooms were amazing as were drinks and complimentary snacks. Drinks were a bit on the pricey side, but is expected due to inflation and quality of Spa. Overall, great Spa as time seems to melt in this place. The only downside is keeping watch to catch the last Ferry off Governors Island. Definitely worth the go, but be prepared to spend money. loved it!!!😍

2022-07-13Beautiful, well done, clean, relaxing and spectacular views! I had my doubts before coming to QC Spa. But loved this place for a quiet, relaxing NYC get away. $90 for 3 hours was worth it. Pools are great as well and 4 nice saunas. Ill definitely be back!

2022-03-12There is room for improvement, given the very high price.Overall a pleasant experience, but I have a hard time imagining this would be pleasant with larger crowds. We visited on a very quiet wintery day and the place was practically empty. The staff is very nice and helpful, and probably the highlight of the service. The views are what you expect, spectacular. The saunas are overall nice, but I can see them getting crowded fast as they are small. The relaxation rooms are pretty but gimmicky, gluing a chess board to the ceiling doesnt make it an upside-down room. The food is ridiculously expensive, and really nothing special, and since you are literally hostage in an island without any food options, you have no other choice than to pay 24 dollars for a deli wrap and chips. (No drink)Youll definitely spend more than 4 hours there, specially if crowded, so go straight for the $110 entrance fee. (With tax)Be sure to add $26 for food as you will have no other option. If you are in a budget, forget about massages, they are ridiculously expensive, around $100 for 25 minutes. Also it felt a bit unfair to pay full price given that we had no access to the pools.Overall, così-così

2022-04-03I had a really lovely experience. Really not sure why this place is getting such hate.Ambiance: Super relaxing atmosphere with some beautifully designed rooms and aromatics. My friend and I found ourselves alone or with one other group max during our visit. Id be concerned about potential overcrowding when its busy since you can stay as long as you want. We took about 4 hours exploring at a leisurely pace.Rooms: There were a decent number of options! My favorite were the acqua level vichy showers and the infrared room. The pools werent open when we were there, but Id imagine that would be a popular spot as well. My one issue is that there were a lot of saunas. They did a good job decorating and theming them differently, but the ratio is probably still too high. Id like to have seen some other options like a salt pool or jacuzzi or something.Service: Staff was really really nice. However, I could tell they were stretched thin. We werent given a tour or run down of the facilities at all, and we really could have benefited from it.Food: I mean...youre going to a spa in NYC. I would expect the food to be extremely expensive. Maybe my bar is too low, but I was pleasantly surprised by the free veggies, snack, and coffee/tea for a $100 day pass.

2022-04-11Our visit was on a Monday. We took the 10am ferry and were tucked into our Frette robes by 10:30. The spa itself is aromatic - I think the scents are bespoke to QC, but the general essence was something like cedar. There is an aromatic room where you can try on scents like silk, wool, linen … very lovely. All of the hair products smell great too - I started with a rain shower (the showers also have wands) and then headed to the wet saunas for a Vichy bath, a foot bath, wet sauna and a walk through a “cloud” shower. I found the infrared mediation room (which was empty and very serene) and blissed out there. Then on to the Swedish saunas - each set at a different temperature. I think the highest temp was 163. A few of the dry saunas have windows looking over the harbor - kind of unique to be able to see outside during a sauna - I liked it! These spaces had little head rests and timers⏳so it was very comfortable and easy to know when it was time to move on. There is a “library” with plush rocking chairs and a fireplace - I nearly rocked myself to sleep. When it was time for lunch, the options were about what you might expect spa-meal wise: salads yogurts … we ordered the poached salmon salad and our attentive server brought us special Himalayan salt in addition to the tangy dressing. There was a nice selection of vegetables, breads and (Tate’s) cookies (gratis) … along with fruit waters, coffee and tea. Wine was $16 BTG, there was a nice selection, and it was a generous pour. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful. The whole day was really a complete delight. I’m already planning my next visit.

2022-03-07We absolutely loved our experience here at the new QC NY Spa! From start you are greeted by a spectacular view of New York City followed multiple wet and dry saunas. This place is a must for a little R&R from the hustle and bustle of the city.

2022-07-05View was phenomenal but can’t order anything after 5pm due to short staff :(No complimentary food as well.Didn’t have any indication on their website whatsoever smh.we came to relax, eat some snacks and def drink while enjoying the sunset. But that didn’t happen :(So we were starving since we came at 6:30pm til close time smh.Beware!!!!the windows some of the bathrooms and showers are slightly open like the mens from outside can see or peek if they want to and you can’t even close it like why?Didn’t see a single lotion in the women’s locker room but apparently there are in the mens with different scents.Asked the manager and complained about why there isn’t and we couldn’t order drinks or food he said there is when there isn’t so he can just avoid the situation.Update: it was 2stars before but now I updated to 4 stars since they gave a complimentary for next visit which was lovely! However, it doesn’t change the fact that we were starving while we was in there. Please indicate on the website so we know what to expect. But complimentary full day spa is better I guess lol.Lastly I loved all the scented shampoos and etc… they weren’t selling at the gift shop :(
