If I could give it a negative 5 that would be to kind. DO NOT stay here. Im here right now and wish I wasnt. Mold in the bathroom, beds extremely dirty, blood, boogers, possible feces on walls.. very out dated. My question how is this hotel still running? Oh did I mention bugs???;
Room was dirty and the floor was covered with glass, food, and other stuff. Wires exposed in a corner where there was supposed to be a TV. The jacuzzi and kitchen area were filthy as well. When we requested it be cleaned, the cleaning staff half-heartedly vacuumed only part of the floor, leaving us to pick up the rest of the glass, food, and other debris left there by the previous occupant. We ended up going downstairs to get new pillows, since this is a hotel that apparently doesnt change sheets between peoples stays, and also cleaning supplies since they only wiped down the room and didnt use Clorox or anything. The next morning, the cleaning staff stopped by our room and threatened us, saying We heard you complained. Do not do that again. We made the most of our stay but wow, what a bad hotel.
This hands down was the grossest hotel Ive ever been in. I should have turned around and checked out immediately when I got into the elevator and it was covered in mud. I know this is not a reflection of choice hotels as they are independently owned but corporate needs to take a look into this one.
The hotel is nice and in a good location. It may be a bit outdated and needs a little TLC; however it is made up for by the excellent customer service! The room we booked was huge and even had a pull out couch. They have picnic tables in the back of the property and lots of grass for puppies. It is very comfortable and clean. We are in NY for 7 nights and the hotel that we were going to stay at was one of the worst I have ever seen, so we drove 36 hours and had no where to stay. The manager has tried endlessly to find us an option for a night that he was fully booked, and was able to eventually accommodate us!! I am so thankful they are here.
Room was comfortable and roomy had a lounge area as well as a bedroom area...its the little things like being quiet and clean towels and sheets.. breakfast was a bit skimpy but room and lobby was quiet and clean..for the most part staff was helpful and very nice...best part for me is coffee in the lobby was free and good. Good coffee is a must
Positive: Location. Negative: Everything. The staff was very rude. The room was not clean. We didn¿t have room service a couple of nights and had to go get our own towels. No fitted sheet in bed and mattress cover stains on the back. Didn¿t notice until last day. DISGUSTING!!!!!
Outdated! Very difficult to regulate shower. Provided only one face towel. Carpeting in hallways stained and torn. Flags not flying outside (first time seeing this). Hardware hanging loose from dresser drawers. Refrigerator ice section packed with thick built-up ice (unusable). On one occasion, all that was available for breakfast was coffee, juice and soggy machine-made pancakes.
Paid 231$ for a double bed suite. Was totally not worth the money and smelled funky. then when we woke up and tried to receive our deposit back they didn’t even have the room under our name. They had messed up and didn’t want to give us our deposit. worst hotel I’ve ever been to and I definitely wouldn’t recommend.
We stayed on the first floor and the halls and rooms STANK.The halls smelled heavy and musky, like cigarettes, even though this was allegedly a 100% smoke-free hotel. As I was bringing in my luggage, a couple in front of me entered their own room for the first time and immediately complained that it smelled like mildew. I overheard them. When we got to ours, it smelled as soon as we opened the door. I dont know how to describe it, it just smelled terrible. The carpet is kinda sticky and the air conditioner is filthy (at least it works!). The parking lot is also in really bad condition.Unfortunately for us, this was a last minute check in and the card has already been charged. We are basically trapped. I think I will sleep with my mask on. At least there are no bed bugs!
The room was well furnished and adequate that was the best thing. The towels were skimpy and very small.. The breakfast was positively pitiful there was yogurt, instant oatmeal with no microwave for cooking it no milk! Juice, coffee and no fruit. Of course there were the ancient cellophane wrapped pastries that no one was touching. No toaster no bread no bagels no muffins The rating on the breakfast is minus!
WORST PLACE EVER!I honestly only left one star to leave a review. The staff were absolutely awful. Our room was disgusting stains on everything including the bed and curtains. The couch had white stains on half of it. The bathroom was clearly not cleaned and they did not fix the TP holder so they set the TP on the sink. When we asked to change rooms the hotel manager told us to leave the hotel did not want to help! It’s completely run down and half of the hotel is just abandoned.DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!
When we arrived, the staff informed us that they would have to let us know the room because the keys were not working. When we returned after going out for supper they were working, thankfully. The carpet in the main hallway had huge snags and holes in it, as did the carpet in our room. The sink in the kitchen was filthy and covered in black scratches and we could not use it. The room itself was large but the condition it was in was truly unbelievable. The switch in the bathroom for the fan and an additional light did not work. The outlet next to the bed would not hold a cord in it tightly so when we awoke and thought our phone had been charging all night, it wasnt. We would not stay here again or recommend it.
When you first go into the hotel it is absolutely beautiful. Then you go into the room we got room 134 the presidential suite and as soon as you walk in it smells like Curry and the carpets need to be replaced the whole room needs to be renovated. The jacuzzi was very outdated and had a broken on button. The tiles around the jacuzzi were broken. There was fixtures coming off the wall none of the furniture mashed and some of it was broken. The sitting room had no TV in it and the TV that was in the bedroom was very small. I would say the best thing out of staying here is the 20% off that we got at the Japanese hibachi steakhouse right across the way that was very very good. Overall I would not stay here again for the price that we paid.
Staff was exceptionally nice and polite. That being said this is no Ritz thats for sure. It needs a severe upgrading on everything. My bed was clean but you could feel the springs in the mattress when you laid on it, part of the overhead by the lighting in the bathroom was hanging down, you can see the having of the carpet its so worn, the A/C is insufficient and placed in the wrong spot for that size of room and took hours to cool down because it was off and unplugged. This place has lots of potential if they would upgrade it and do a better job cleaning it. Also the toilet would have to be plunged everytime you would try to flush it and with 5 people that keeps you busy. They missed a lot when cleaning this room. I gave it two stars instead of one because the staff was very helpful and polite.
Horrible rooms and hallway. Window would not lock, overlooking swampy trash. They have got to see it! Just look at the ceiling on the lobby. Hotel is worn and needs a makeover. Were we stuck on a busy weekend. Staff members were nice and efficient. Convenient location. Never ever ever staying here again.
This facility is a dump. Theres a lot of trash and garbage around the outside dumpster, including an old couch. The exterior door into the hallway didnt close shut, so anyone can enter, including insects. The carpeting is worn and filthy. The first room I was given smelled terribly of cat urine. Later I heard another guest complaining about the same room: when I didnt want it they tried to give it to the next customer. The air conditioning unit was filthy with dust. The couch in my room was heavily soiled. I will say the linens were clean, thankfully. The bed was marginally comfortable, but most hotels would have replaced them by now. The old swimming pool is closed and obviously hasnt been used in years. The place is not worthy of the Quality Inn brand. This place needs a complete renovation.
Nice staff...but the entire hotel was disgusting. You could tell before you walked in. The plants were all dead and garbage everywhere...walked into the lobby and it smelled like pot. The elevator was disgusting. I went into the room, every was old and worn out. It looked clean! But I didnt stay longer than 10 minutes. I left for Holiday Inn. Which Im thankful for, unable to get a refund. But whatever..I didnt care as long as I didnt have to stay there any longer. Its cheap but just not for me
We were totally disappointed. We stayed here many times before and it was great. The last time we stayed the elevator was disgusting and this time it looked like it hadn’t been touched since then. The hallway carpet was also filthy. Our shower stall was moldy. WiFi did not work .
Positive: The location was exactly where I needed to be. Negative: They had a $100 additional fee that they made me pay for incidentals that I was not prepared for but later in the evening waived it for other guests but kept calling my room harassing me about it when I advised I was sleeping waiting for my travel
Room smelled like hot stale urine, hallway smelled like smoke. Shower head and tap were coming out of the wall, no toilet paper holder. Stains on towels and curtains. The carpet was absolutely disgusting. Showerhead was leaking at the wall and condensation built up so quickly in the bathroom that it dripped down all of the walls and soaked the box of tissues and clothing sitting there. We had requested a crib when we booked but were informed when we arrived that they didnt have cribs. Do not recommend this place at all. At least it was good for some laughs.
Absolute dump! I had a support dog didnt want to let me stay, agreed after pleading sent me to a room that was taken, someone was in there! VETERAN HATERS, DO NOT STAY HERE, SMELLED HORRIBLE, DIRTY CARPET, WATER Stains everywhere. Absolutely not animal friendly! Said would refund me, still waiting! Very nice hotel down street, dont waste money on this dump.
Room smelled horribly, but I had just worked a 16 hour shift as a nurse and was dead tired so I sucked it up. Went to take a shower there was no hot water. So they switched me room and still the smell followed and no hot water. Front desk and manger were rude as can be. I contacted them again and the manager told me they rented out both rooms without checking or fixing the issue. They refused to give a refund for the hotel room reservation. If I could give less stars I would.
Positive: Location is nice. Negative: Hotel is run down , very dirty, everything very old. Hallway carpets are ripped and can see the bottom. Bathroom is never clean for a while. Cleaning people look like just change the sheet and done. Breakfast is only pancake and yogurts nothing else.
The price of the room and what you get aren’t the same. Rooms and motel need a major upgrade. TV is small and the remote won’t allow you to switch it to use a fire stick. I asked about and was told no we don’t allow that. The parking lanes need to be repainted but on the good side there is good parking area for big trucks and trailers.
Positive: This hotel was so unsanitary there¿s nothing to like about it. Negative: The hotel is rundown and half of it is abandoned. The room was absolute filth with stains on the bed and the curtain also having white stains on the couch! The hotel manager told us to leave and get out after explaining the dirty ness.
Friendly staff, but jesus christ the cleanliness and maintenance is questionable beyond the lobby. The room is massive, and the bathroom and beds appear to be clean. The rest, however, is... questionable. I wouldnt dare to go near the couch. Paint chips and marks on the walls. What we werent told is that the room is a connecting one. Thankfully there is a lock, as well as a tv (just barely) in front of the door, but cmon. Thats something guests should probably be informed of. For $200/night, I would (reasonably) hope for... well, quality.
The room smelled like intense mildew the pool says seasonal yet in the hottest part of the year the pool is covered. The a/c was turned off in my room. The sofa that was in the room was broken, the elevator didn’t work during my stay, the complimentary breakfast was below mediocre, they say no smoking yet they let people smoke out front of the main entrance.
They could not find my reservation number and my name. I kept on saying to look it up since we booked over a month ago. The rude female manager hung up on me twice. IVE NEVER HAD ANY HOTELS EVER HANG UP ON A CUSTOMER. She was way out of line and didnt pick up after I called again. Another person found our reservation when we got there but there was no apology at all. The facilities are poor there. There are water leak stains in the lobby and the rugs are really falling apart. Our room window screen and curtain had holes in them. I do not recommend the place. It seems like the owner lives there on the first floor and their extended family. The place really needs to be updated and fixed up.
I was pleased I staid in the hot tub suite . it was a little out of date for the price but overall was happy great staff and service and alot of places to eat. Alot of places deliver for free also a Mobil 24hr across street .Great place to relax and to eat rates very but I paid $194.00 a night the room was big had hot tub , living room and kitchen with stove fridge and microwave .Overall I think $149.00 plus tax should have been the right rate for roomWill defiantly go back this is my 7th time going all I hope is they continue to redo the room and updateBut we loved it going back soon thank you
Positive: Absolutely nothing except the location. Negative: Cleanliness is severely lacking. When we advised the front desk clerk at check out, he said ¿that¿s why we give lower rates¿. The bathroom ceiling had moli. The floor was filthy. The air conditioner was filthy. The room was barely vacuumed! N
It’s old, smells of mildew, and is in dire need of renovation. Wet carpets are constantly being dried with box fans in the halls. The internet is slow and the signal doesn’t reach all corners of the room. The “Airport” location lists an airport shuttle as an amenity, but it wasn’t running, so budget for some Ubers, or find a different place to stay. But, if none of that matters to you, it felt pretty safe, and the price was pretty good. You *just barely* get what you pay for.
I booked this hotel Through Hotwire. I saw that it was three stars. Didn’t look too bad. As soon as I got there, the place smelled. There was no hand sanitizer anywhere. Hallways stunk.Got to the room and it smelled musty. The bed was indented. There was hair from someone else on the bathroom floor. Stain on the chair. Stain on the curtain and the curtain rod was dirty and being held together by tape. Table next to the bed looked like it was about to fall apart.I immediately called Hotwire and got refunded. Disgusting.
For the price, I wasnt expecting much. I had a large suite, with a couch, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, etc. The sleeping area was roomy; the linens were clean and soft. The breakfast was delicious. They even have an amazing workout area with well-maintained fitness equipment. I know it sounds like Im a paid endorsement. I assure you I am not.Im an English professor, so I write like this all the time. But Ive NEVER reviewed any company as long as Ive been alive.I just had to tell other travelers what an AMAZING find this is!
By far the worst choice property in the tri-state area that I’ve been to the far, definitely would recommend the quality Inn and suites in Glenmont before this location. The staff are rude and wear sandals and flip-flops so at 7 o’clock in the morning you hear the most ridiculous noises from the herd of housekeepers. Definitely not for those with light stomachs since upon check-in there was a bobby pin as well as used paraphernalia behind the dresser. For the same rate I highly recommend going to Glenmont the manager and staff are much more hospitable and try to accommodate their guests needs with much cleanly your facilities and rooms.
Room was not cleaned properly from previous guests- litter still on floor, jacuzzi had hair in it. House staff rude when we asked to have at least the jacuzzi cleaned. Decor was outdated. Carpeting was stained and indesparate need of replacing. Continental breakfast consisted of just prepackaged muffins and coffee.Even with pandemic yogurt and juice could have been offered. Do not recommend this hotel at all.
Management is extremely disrespectful on a wholes other level. They could care less about your satisfaction or your health. Given that this place should be closed down due to how disgusting the rooms are. If you have newborns or toddlers or family with health problems do not bring them here. The smell and germs is unbearable.
Not sure how this hotel has a 3 star rating. The building is old and dirty and the hallway smells nasty. The beds were comfy and bathroom seemed to be clean but nothing else was acceptable. The towels were thin and old, the furniture was old and mismatched, the carpets are worn and walls were dirty. Please dont give false ratings and post pictures of the best room on site, it is misleading! So disappointing, thank god we only had to stayfor 1 night!
The hotel is in a convenient area, easy to get to. Suite was nice and large, and the hot tub as well. Firmest mattress I have ever slept on, not very comfortable. Super small TV for what they called the presidential suite (~27). One of the pillows was covered in dark smears. Being told at the desk I cant use a gift card to pay there kind of threw off the whole experience as we had budgeted the trip paying for the room on the gift card.
The shower did not work properly and when we said something to the front desk they said there was nothing they could nothing because maintenance was gone for the day. Later they said they came into our hotel room while we were at lunch and “fixed it”. That wasn’t true. To make things worse the room next to us had a guest who was smoking weed. Our entire room smelled of it, along with the hallway. The staff didn’t even apologize or anything. The bed was very hard and the pillows were not standard but a square shaped and uncomfortable. Breakfast was prepackaged stale chocolate chip muffins, and the coffee was good but no creamer. The hot tub was wonderful but We will not be staying here again.
I originally was going to give them two stars, but after seeing the overly passive aggressive response from Mr. Patel (which I have now screenshotted in case he tries to edit it) to someone who was pregnant during their stay and was looking for housing, and working fulltime during her pregnancy just to pay for this place, I figured to make this review even lower. The fact that he even responsed to my rating shows he is defensive. Guests who have only stayed for a night or so wouldnt be able to see what exactly was going on in this hotel, which is why he only responded to mine. He comprehends I am the main person that has stayed here for the longest amount of time, so he is aware of my knowledge about this place. Why would there be a need to respond if there was nothing to defend? Harassment and intimidation occur in their workplace. I was staying at this hotel on and off when I was looking for housing. The staff here are kind, until you make one small mistake. Rooms are spacious and clean, but unfortunately very outdated. Mice periodically travel into the hotel, but only on the ground floor. They even have mice traps around. Water from the faucet is usually cloudy. Wifi is impossible to connect to unless you sit by the door. Beds are not extremely comfortable, especially if your body frame isnt flat. Also, on January 28th between 11 and 11:30am on the second floor, I heard a loud dispute between the front desk manager and one of the hotel housekeepers. He called them lazy, and was cursing. I was very troubled and disappointed to hear those kinds of words being spoken to a worker who gets on their hands and knees and cleans up other peoples messes. In order to take the burden off those workers whom he called lazy, I tried to clean my own room by asking for cleaning materials from the manager. I was not given any materials to clean, which is odd because anytime Ive stayed at hotels in Manhattan, the managers always hand their materials off to me because they know I am making their workers jobs easier. The manager clearly didnt care about how overworked their staff was. I also have a strong feeling all of the workers are even related to each other, and might be even living in the hotel. At late nights, Id see all of them going in and out of hotel rooms which I found highly odd. Im deeply concerned. Please investigate this hotel. No, I wont be staying at this hotel ever again, because my baby, my man, and myself all have a lovely apartment to be in now. As a local guide, it is my civic duty to post these reviews with photo evidence to maintain my local guide badge, and to help others with their stays at hotels during this pandemic. Instead of making passive aggressive remarks, do better. I will be reporting this to corporate, and showing them how you responded. Thanks.
The hotel itself looked old. The carpet in the hallway wasn’t flat and had bumps in the middle of it. Our bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned. There was a half empty bottle of shampoo along with a used bar of soap left in the shower. The bath mat towel had yellow spots on it and one of the shower towels had brown spots on it. I’ve never stayed at a quality inn as bad as this one.
Good space, but not clean. Even found socks from the previous room occupant under the bed. The elevator floor would not need as bad if this was a construction site. It was absolutely horrible. Very uncomfortable experience sleeping there. I was too tired to go to another hotel. I cleaned as best as I could and hope we dont regret not moving on.
Rooms are very big and the bed and shower were fine. Big grounds for a pet friendly place. Needs a makeover, some towels were stained and sadly this morning I saw a roach crawling around. But from my understanding they are about to remodel and switch to Clarion inn. Hope they get an exterminator
My friend had to stay here for 1 month. I helped him move and went back to Buffalo. Quality of the place was okay but the front desk people were super nice and very helpful. At first they were worried that there are 3 people coming to the place but I explained to them we are helping our friend move to Albany and we will be heading back home tomorrow. They were fine with staying there and they also gave us great recommendations for nearby.
I stayed here for one day and I requested them to extend the room for one more day. The manager forgot to tell the room extension to the housekeeping. When we came back to room around 11pm nothing was there in room. When we complained it to the manager,he didn’t accept that we lost the thing, he was arguing with us. When we questioned his stand, he told that if you want you complaint police or I can offer you a free night and he will check the housekeeping tomorrow and we will go from there. We decided to go with the free night option as it was better than nothing, Morning he called and told that there are some dresses here, if you want you came and check, when we went to the reception, we could see some of our dresses in a plastic bag, it was directly taken from the dustbin. It was full of dirt. We were still missing one of my winter jacket and some of my dresses, I asked him how my dresses went to dustbin, he was furious to and threatened me to leave is place as soon as possible, we decided not to fight with him and left the hotel. We went this place for some-medical treatment and after all these, My wife was so weak and we don’t want to stay further there, so we didn’t call police and left the hotel. Next day, I called the choice hotel and they told me that, since I have opted for the free night, they cannot do anything further and they have noted what we lost ! From that day I decided not to stay any of those hotels except some hotels where I had great experience. I have stayed more than 50 hotels across the world, this is the worst hotel have stayed in my life
Needs updating. Bed is too low. Pillows too soft. All metal items in room are rusty. Crack in walls - several. TV did not work. I was concerned about staying there, but we were exhausted from long trip. Gave it a shot for a second time after getting sick in main building years ago. Room years ago was better, just air filter was dirty. This room - I would not recommend to anyone who was paying any of their hard-earned dollars.
Older property, but adequate for us. They should really replace the hallway carpeting. Room was clean and larger than expected. Fridge, microwave, storage space, sofa, pillows, etc all met my needs. Smokers have to go outside, so it smelled like smoke at the entrances, but the room was smoke-free. I would stay here again.
It was nice enough for the corporate lodging rate I was at, which I dont personally pay for. So, strictly speaking of experience, not value - it was decent. A few figures falling offthe wall are fine. Finding a centipede in the bathroom is not upsetting.. The sheets appeared clean, and the staff was very nice. The place is aging and needs some more proactive maintenance, but you wont die.
The not so quality inn had blood stains on the mattresses, someone had bugs in the bed. The rooms were disgusting, my room smelled like a dirty ash tray, they next cleaned it after the previous person who stayed there. There was even a plastic bag over my smoke alarm. My door didnt lock and full close one night and my door was wide open while I was sleeping. Manager at the front refused to relocate me after all of those issues and wouldnt do anything to make the situation any better. I wish I could give this place negative stars, absolutely the worst hotel Ive ever stayed in. They dont even clear out their parking lot when it snows.
When we checked in the front desk upgraded us and that was nice. When we checked into the room everything was ok but not the bathroom. OMG we ended up cleaning it our self since we were close to a Target. Front desk gave a discount after we showed them the dirt. That was fine but breakfast was stone cold. Then the 2nd night we had a dog bark since the guests left him alone. Was not a good experience. Also the hotel really needs to be upgraded.
Positive: I didn¿t like anything about this hotel it was run down and it¿s infested by bed bugs I checked out 3 hours after I checked in. Negative: I didn¿t like anything about this hotel it was run down and it¿s infested by bed bugs I checked out 3 hours after I checked in. Please do not encourage people to go there it is a health hazard.
I would recommend 611 Troy Schenectady RD in Latham Quality INN for those on a budget who wants a clean room professional and friendly staff. The rooms are huge theres a living room space separate from your bed and a desk for work. Theres a shopping center in walking distance and a great Japanese restaurant for business meeting. For a lower budget place they do a good job with keeping it clean and quiet never seen a shady person in the parking lot and always felt safe.
The guy at the front desk was quite honestly one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. I would rather go to a worse hotel than come back here just because of how horrible the customer service here was. The rooms are not up to date enough for him to be acting so uptight and rude like he did. Quality Inn would be doing themselves a favor by firing this man.
Im the middle of a pandemic they dont have a proper mop. They have a mop stick with a towel on the bottom. I seen it when i asked them to clean the room when i got there. Because room needed to be swept and mopped. Hotel Needs to be remolded. Carpet is old and torn. Both in hallway and elevator. Room couch is old didnt want to sit down. They gave me a refund. I ran outta there. They need to shut down now. I thought i was gonna get corona jus standing there in the room. Forreal i almost cried it was my birthday.
Overall our stay was fine. The room was large, the heating/cooling system was very good. The bed was a king and we were only expecting a queen -- nice benefit. Only problem was a TV remote however the desk representative was quick to bring a replacement. The breakfast was superior to other Latham hotels. We have already recommended to other family members.
Strong mold smell filled one of two rooms we booked which triggered my asthma and made it difficult to sleep. Everything is old and poorly cleaned. The carpets are old and dusty. Management, owners, are you broke? Do you oversee these rooms?? The health department should get involved. Please stop falsely advertising “Quality” Inn. I stayed at a Days Inn for only $56 a night and it was way better than this...At least the check in lady was sweet.
Poor Customer Service. Staff arguing with Choice members. Stains on the linen. Stained, spotted old dingy towels. Barking dogs. One of the worst stays I have ever experienced in all my years. Twice I have been here and both times issues with the same staff member. Choice should make training mandatory at this location.
A few friends and I were looking to stay previously at another hotel about an hour away, but they had lost our booking even though we had the confirmation number. This place was the only pet friendly hotel for ages that had not just one but two open rooms. The rooms are quite nice, the beds are comfortable and they have cable. If youre looking for a five star establishment this isnt it, but if its 12 am and you just need to pass out after a long frustrating day then this place is perfect. Breakfast is also included, good coffee and great bagels.
Our check in experience was a bit of a pain and took over half an hour . Eventually they switched our room to meet the accessibility requirements we had reserved. Once in the room it met our needs but could have used updating. Unique way to operate the shower which I had not seen previously. Breakfast was fresh and very nice staff person in breakfast area. Busy location with people coming and going for airport. Not far from interstate.
The staff was great. Friendly and very helpful.the maids in our wing did very minimal work..bathroom was never cleaned. Some issues with keycard readers on the door staff cleaned the reader and it improved it. Might be an age of equipment thing. Good area. Good value need better cleanings. The wifi worked well and the rooms were spacious.
Walked in the room counter and refrigerator was dirty. Went in the bedroom a fork was laying on the floor went to pick it up and behind the dresser was dirt and papers that were there for several cleanings. Sat in the recliner handle was broke off and the foot was broken. Sat watching tv then water came out of the ceiling on to the stove. Went to use the jacuzzi on off button was broken off. Was there a month ago and it was a nice stay. This stay was our last stay there. Don’t stay there not worth all the problems.
The hotel is very old and dated. Mismatched furniture. The wooden furniture was all weathered and chipped. There was a short dark hair on the bed spread, dried stained blood on the down comforter. Toilet handle needed to be held down for it to flush. The rugs appeared to be vacuumed, but the perimeter of the room looked like it had never been vacuumed. Dead bugs & dirt on window ledge. Awful experience. Thank God I had a coupon code because I saved almost 50.00 for the 2 nights. I brought my puppy. The hotel is “dog friendly” yet I got dirty looks upon entering the lobby with her. I would never stay there again.
My friends and I stayed here after a concert at SPAC. The price was reasonable and the access to the highway made it a desirable place to stay. The staff was friendly and did their best, despite a slow computer system. I was upgraded to a suite when the front desk worker couldnt find a clean room, and I was very excited about it! The room was clean, but there are obvious signs of wear-and-tear. Some simple update, like carpeting, painting and/or new curtains would go a long way.
We stayed at the quality inn for 1 night after we decided to leave a day early to catch our flight... We were greeted politely and checked in expeditiously, our car was checked in for park and fly and we were given late check out without any extra fees (flight was only departing late afternoon). The one thing i did not like - beds were double instead of queen size and they were very soft. The room was not super modern but it was perfect for what we needed it for and very spacious. I would definitely stay again before catching a flight
Staff was excellent, main lobby was modern and clean. The room was hot, somewhat dirty, the TV was 2o years old. The carpeting outside our room was severely worn and dirty. There was no elevator to our second floor room. The shuttle service was not available when I needed it after I was told the night before that it would be available.
Let me start by thanking the staff for the complimentary half-gallon of milk that was in the fridge when I arrived. This would have been a better gift if it was not half-empty. Fridge racks were dirty, so clearly the inspector never opened the fridge, and it was not just the housekeeper failing to do so.The housekeeper neglecting to remove the item and the housekeeping inspector not checking the fridge to catch it, sums up an experience at this hotel. What I mean by this, is that the hotel, in itself, is not awful. But they are overlooking little things that can make the place better. Another example, is that I do not think I have ever seen a more rusty cover for where a tissue box gets placed in a bathroom, in a hotel room in my life. On this, the housekeeper just cleans what it is there, so again I have to point at the inspector for not mentioning that this simple and likely inexpensive item is in desperate need of replacement. The room curtains were not necessarily dirty, but old and worn out, and they did have a bit of musty smell to them. There was a sense of that with a lot of the room decor, just having lived out its life. The bed was adequate in its comfort level, but also looked flat, and not really very inviting to lay on.Its an older hotel, that simply needs a renovation now. All hotels reach this moment, but whether it gets done can become a different story. Other Choice Hotels in the Albany area do a far better job in this regard, and I only picked this one as it was a rewards night and I had a project in Latham, and decided not to go to the hotel I usually frequent. If this hotel gets that renovation, I believe it can become a decent place. One thing they will never be able to control but still something to think about is the high level of traffic noise. It was enjoyable (not really) listening to one car, in particular, seem to have a temper tantrum at the nearby very busy intersection and stay on their horn for at least 30 seconds straight. Theres a lot of horn blowing at that intersection, and you hear it. Possibly this can be avoided with a room in a different location.Hotel wins back a star from one to two due highly efficient wireless service. If they had a problem before, it is fixed now, I can tell you that. Front desk service was fine.
Who ever was in charge of the last renovation of this motel must have gone for the cheapest contractor who had no pride in the quality of his work. The lobby looks great but then you get back to your room and you find worn furniture, paint splattered not only on the walls but on the rug and floor trim. The TV was not much larger than the monitor I am using to type this review. Breakfast was mediocre. The luggage rack was positioned just outside the bathroom door at a very convenient location to trip over as you exit the bathroom in the dark of night. Only positive I can give is the staff was pleasant. Overall just not a pleasant experience. I have stayed in worse, paying a lot more so will not downgrade to a one star overall.
We picked this hotel due to price and convenience. Booked our reservation with Melinda the night before our arrival. She was very professional and knowledgeable. We had a snow storm at home the day of arrival so we checked in early and met Omar. He was also great and helpful. We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon and had a wonderful dinner at Sake. After dinner we went back to our room but our keys didnt work so Melinda kindly upgraded us to a suite with a jacuzzi which was wonderful.Breakfast was disappointing, the toaster did not brown the english muffin and no coffee cups were out so we had to look for them. Our shuttle was scheduled for 9 am so we sat in the lobby and here it was not fun, we had to listen to Chris complain to other staff members how he had puked that morning and how long he had been sick, etc. He did his job but was not very helpful and was rude to someone on the phone who called. They were supposedly having computer issues. Anyhow we saw the shuttle driver pull up and we asked Chris if we could go early. He told my husband to go ask the driver. Fortunately the driver was very helpful and we were on our way. Yes we would stay again for an overnight travel.
I highly recommend this hotel! It is lower priced because it is older, but this is why it is such a great hotel: 1) the staff is amazing! 2) the room is very large; 3) the room is very clean and the shower/bath is large and nice. Its also in a great location--close to the airport and a short walk from Target (great place to pick up some food to cook in the microwave at the hotel). The bed is a little bit hard, but I always bring a pad with me because even soft hotel beds are not soft enough for me--fibromyalga.
Hotel is just off I-87, very convenient to get to. Got upgraded to a king bed suite for my gold status. Room was spacious, with separate bedroom and sitting room. Furnishings were in excellent condition. The bed was FIRM which is good for my back, unlike some other hotels in the chain. Most importantly, the heater/air conditioner was quiet and shut off to maintain the set temperature! The check in area is pretty, up to the standard of Quality Inn. The breakfast was full service -- yogurt, cereal, egg, sausage, etc. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel offered bottles of drinking water for gold members. Definitely will stay at this hotel when in the area. One improvement is the wifi which was very slow.
The hotel lobby was inviting. The staff were so helpful, cheerful and accommodating. My room was clean and very comfortable as was the bed.The bathroom was clean and there were plenty of soft towels. The convenience of having the shuttle to take me to the airport ( only a ten minute ride) was an important part of my choosing this Quality Inn.The coffee was excellent, however I had to leave so early for the airport, I did not get the opportunity to try the breakfast.
I cant say much since our stay at the motel was so short. We had to leave at 4 AM to catch an early flight so didnt even take a shower or have breakfast. It was a great deal to stay, park and fly. They may be changing their policy but currently their shuttle to airport is not 24/7 so you will want to make sure your departure/arrival time is during their shuttle time. If not, talk with the manager to see if they can accommodate.
I arrived at the hotel for a quick weekend business trip. When I got there, the staff were attentive and polite. I was given my key and directed to my room. I wasnt bothered at all. The cleaning crew were very polite, and I found my room in pristine condition. It was an ideal experience. You felt taken care of without being scrutinized. I may have to return to the area soon, and I will be booking Quality Inn for that trip!
We stayed at this hotel because we could leave our car parked and didnt have any other charges for leaving our car for 2 weeks. We needed to get to the airport by 5 am and the shuttle did not go out that early, so that was a little disappointing. There is a small selection for a early breakfast, that is a good thing. Rooms are nice and clean. The staff was ok and friendly, nothing to write home. We had no problems at all. Good hotel and great place to leave your car as you go away for a weekend or longer. Two weeks of free parking was great!
In addition to previous comments the hotel is wonderful. The location, close to town but not in town. On the lake with boats available. The staff was very good. The two that keep the breakfast area clean and stocked are very efficient. If the line got too long for making waffles they had additional waffle makers in their large kitchen area. The pool, even though we did not use it was very clean and inviting. Overall it was a great expeience and we do plan to return, possibly next year with our nephews.
This has been our go-to place for an overnight to be refreshed. We love the jacuzzi suite. Its just the right size to unwind and relax. The motel always has great breakfasts and, on our most recent stay, we enjoyed fresh baked cookies and beef stew , all included in the price we paid for the night. They also have a decent exercise room. We will definitely be back!
This was a nice place to stay. The room that I had was a suite. There was an area with cupboards, refrigerator, microwave. There is free full breakfast choices. Comfortable seating area with TV. Nice business center and seating areas. Close to restaurants and stores. There are a few downfalls. The fitness center equipment was broken along with the outside pool. The guide feature on the TV remote control was broken. The pullout sofa bed is not comfortable. And, surprisingly, the A/C works great but its right near the beds. And, you get too cold. Not too sure why they chose that setup.Overall, I would recommend. The place was clean.
Excellent location, easy to walk to everything thing. The reception staff was friendly and professional. Our room was beautiful. The gas fireplace was a delightful unexpected surprise but our room was so overly warm we had to turn off the fireplace. Our view of the falls was outstandimg. Would definitely recommend this place.
I came to this hotel and immediately upon walking in I was very impressed with the look and feel of the hotel. The staff were very pleasant and nice to speak with, and acknowledged me being a Choice privledge member. They even serve warm cookies all day. I was excited to get into my room, because the pictures of it online looked amazing. As I entered my room, the first thing I noticed was a HORRILE odor that did not vacate my entire stay. I would have open the window, but the screen had massive holes throughout it. The room itself was nice and large, but it was not clean. Dirt and dust on every surface of the room, and dirt in the corners of room, and underneath beds and tables. The wood furniture had stains all over it, from a cleaner not meant for wood. The window of the room was covered in filth and grime also. Beds were HORRIBLY uncomfortable and noisy. The bathroom was plauged by a shower head that sprayed out of the shower, no matter what way you turned it. And the exhaust fan in the bathroom sounded as if it was going to fall through the ceiling when it was in use, which it wasn’t my entire stay after what I heard from it. My door to the room did not sit flush with its lock, so it shook all night long.
We stayed at this hotel for our annual (2017) Thanks Giving trip. One of the best yet. We stayed in a one bed room suite and were very please with the size and set up. The jacuzzi tub was wonderful. The staff were very attentive and responsive. The breakfast could use a little more variety, but a welcome start to the day nonetheless. The location is great for us, easy access to the highway and close to both Albany and Saratoga Springs, and far enough from the Airport that you dont hear the planes going over. All in all a great place to stay.
Over all the experience was great. we where at another hotel and the a/c broke and they couldnt do anything to resolve the problem. luckily we found a last minute reservation at quality inn. we checked in and the desk clerk was great. great service. the only thing that was disappointing was the fitness room. need some more equipment. the room was clean and had clean towels available(which a lot of hotels are lacking ) but really the only problem is i dont think they take in to account if multiple people are using the fitness room at once. need to upgrade and add some more strength training equipment.
It is quiet considering it is near Albany airport. Beds are comfortable and there is a microwave and small fridge in the room however the building is in definite need of an update, complete. Hall carpeting is in sad shape. Drapes in our room have snagged/shredded areas. No light at side entrance and that door is not locked at all times. Took many minutes to get warm let alone hot water at the sink last night. This morning, though, there was plenty this morning when I took a shower.
We book this hotel online. When we arrived we where put in a 2 queen bed non smoking room. The beds where 2 inches bigger than their double beds. My husband is 6 2. We have a queen bed at home. Those queen beds where the smallest I had ever seen. The hallway and room smelled like a smokers lounge. (Not being attached to the main building it was obvious someone had been smoking in a smoke free hotel.) We called the front desk and asked to speak to management. The assistant manager of the hotel came to our room to address our concerns. She was very polite and very accommodating to our requests for a different room. The hotels rooms and most of the suites where booked for the RPI Family Weekend and two other events in the area. This lovely woman put us in the Presidential Suite. Our weekend was very enjoyable. I am grateful for the extra special treatment. Over all the hotel has friendly staff members. The maid service is standard. The complimentary breakfast was hot and stocked full. Some of the building is older, but mostly clean. The beds are newer so they are a bit stiff. On a scale from 1 to 5 I would rate the hotel a 3. However, I would rate their customer service a 5. Plus they allow pets for approximately $30.00 a night. Something to keep in mind for next time. On a side note there is a restaurant which is a Japanese Steak House out front of the hotel that is thee best I have ever visited. If you present your hotel key they will give you 20% off your meal. Ask for the hibachi chef Paul. He is remarkable.
The hotel is old and in desperate need of an update. The furniture is shabby, the beds uncomfortable, and the bathroom had mold above the shower. There is nowhere comfortable to sit. The breakfast was so-so but if you get there close to 9:00, there is basically nothing left. If its advertised that its open until 9, then food should be available. There isnt enough seating by the food. The carpet in the hallways is worn and needs replacing. The lighting in the hallways is poor. Overall, it is a second rate hotel. The staff was great; its not their fault they work in a poorly maintained hotel.
Most of frequent travelers knows that low cost hotels surrounding airport are risky stays. This one star comment is not actually based on hate, but on disappointment. Expecting a cleaner room while this raging pandemic is still taking place, seemed logical; no?Broken dream unfortunately...
Staff are very nice hallways have a heavy Cigarette smoke smell. The rooms have an old and musty smell. The bathroom did not flush since the water was shut. They came to repair it - opened up the water and it started leaking. Instead of repairing the leaks they shut the water. It’s cheaper that way. We bought along our toddler but they didn’t have a play pan for us. (Offered a crib without a mattress) We had a terrible experience.
Check-in was fine. I was in the upgraded suite. The bed was not overly comfortable-very hard. The door to the room did not fit very well in the frame-there was a lot of light coming from the hallway, which does not leave a very secure feeling. Breakfast hot food was watery eggs and greasy sausage. This is an older hotel they have tried to fix up. I think they have a ways to go yet. But it doesnt cost an arm and a leg to stay here, and theres a Dennys down the street for better breakfast choices.
As others have mentioned, the rooms smell bad. When we walked in we said this is NOT a non-smoking room, but it was. Generally run down and grungy, and rooms are poorly insulated so hall noise is loud. Peeling paint, stains on sofa. Breakfast also subpar. We paid $124, price should have been $80. Recommend avoiding this place.
Need to have things be more clean. There were cobwebs on the ceiling. A user sandwich bag was under the comforter. Ive been staying her for 5 years and the this hotel quality has gone down. The front desk worker is as extremely friendly. And the breakfast worker did a great job and made me feel welcomed.
A comfortable and well-appointed establishment with clean, comfortable and quiet rooms and ideally located for our needs. We had limited contact with the staff but those we saw appeared intent on ensuring that guests needs were met. Breakfast choices were more limited than was expected for a Quality Inn and Im afraid we didnt like the bread and the eggs that were available on each day of our stay. Our taste may of course be quite different from others, so other opinions on the eggs and bread should be considered. The in-room wi-fi was extremely weak and erratic - despite our rooms proximity to the lobby - and I found it impossible to use the in-room wi-fi to catch up on business correspondence and needs. However, the desktop computer in the hotels small business centre remedied that problem and provided me with what I needed at a good speed. Otherwise, this hotel ticked all our boxes and we enjoyed our stay.
We stay at choice hotels most always. We booked 2 rooms and one of them the floor hadnt been vacuumed and there was toilet paper in the toilet. We tried to flush it and the bowl filled up and very slowly drained. The front desk was great and gave us another room. The other room we booked and the room we were switched to were ok. If we needed a place close to the airport again, we would stay there again.
I have never stayed anywhere that was so overrated. The room was dirty - so dusty you could write your name in it on the TV and dresser. The bathroom had hair and dirt on the floor along the edge of the tub that never moved the entire time we were there. The bed look as if it were made by a toddler. The carpeting in the halls was tattered and ripped. The key rarely worked in the door. The heater was loud and never shut off! The Wi-Fi would not work on my devices. The entire facility was worn out.We left a day early...
Stopped at the hotel after talking to a sweet girl on the phone saying we would be coming in to book a room. We had been on the road for 13 hours and we, along with our child, were exhausted. My husband walked in after seeing that the hotel was usually around $95 a night to book a room. The man at the desk said he did not have any rooms at that price that he was so booked they would be $149 a night. That hotel is barely worth $95!! We left and found a hotel with a much nicer check in person that got us in quickly. When my husband came out to the parking lot and told me the price, I looked it up on their corporate site and I could book it for $93 a night and there was availability at that price. After we checked in at the other hotel, less than 1 hour later, I went to write this review and we could book it for $76 a night. Happy I found a different place to stay! Look elsewhere!!
This was our second stay this year. This was our last time. The room was dirty, tub was missing parts. We had the clean the tub. There was no internet. I called the front desk and was told I would have to call to find out why I didnt work. Ridiculous. Second day the room wasnt cleaned, it was not vacuumed , I had to go get new towels to replace the used towels. Bed was not made, counter not cleaned. Garbage not removed.
We stay at hotels at least one week per year unfortunatly this is probably among the worst I have stayed at. We could not control the temperature in the room either too hot or too cold. The room was not clean there was powder on the carpet. The breakfast was not being refilled. waffle batter was empty. Had to call the hotel to be picked up when we arrived back to pick up our car. even after leaving time of arrival with the front desk along with my car keys. there was not melted road salt on the hood, roof and front window of the car.
We have stayed here for the past 5 years to utilize the Sleep, Park and Fly option to the airport. The quality of the building has been in serious decline. Last years experience was not the best, and I decided to give them another shot this year, hoping it was a one time experience. We are done, You had your chance and blew it. There is no internet service, the beds are horrible and crooked, we could see cheerios everywhere under the furniture, and to top it off we were forgotten about after calling for a return shuttle to the airport. Yes, I didnt expect a 5 start experience for the price we paid, but this was far worse than last year. Sorry, never again.
Hotel is conveniently located off of major intersection. Non smoking rules were NOT enforced and hallways stunk of cigarettes and other smoking materials. Pool was clean and pleasant. Room served its purpose and bed was comfortable. Lots of NYS Troopers staying at site probably keeps site safer . Breakfast was very good with good selection and quantity of food and beverages. I would recommend this hotel and would visit it again myself.
We did the park sleep and fly, and as things are normally stressful while traveling they made things very easy. And on our return our flight was canceled due to weather and it was so nice to know that our car was fine I just called when we arrived and they came and got us and brought us to our vehicle. The only negative thing I would have to say is that the beds are very small to adults do not sleep comfortably in them. But for the price and the convenience it was great.
The staff: Friendly and professional. The room: I hope the carpeting is due to be replaced soon. The lighting: Overall, poor. Couldnt see well in certain areas of the room. The benefits of saving money on electricity do NOT outweigh the benefits of guests being able to see where theyre going -- higher-wattage bulbs, please! If hotel is due for revamping soon -- and I hope it is! -- please move the bed away from the heating unit. Nothing like getting air blown in ones face at all hours. Having said that, the convenience of the location is undeniable.
Very filthy rooms. Grout needs to be replaced in bathroom. Carpets need to be cleaned better, especially around the edges. Bathroom was very dirty. Bath tub looks like it hasnt been cleaned in months. The tub has burn marks where cigarettes have been placed. The toilet seat is stained from accidents. Room is very dated and so are the hallways. It feels like a 1970s motel. Very disappointed, unsatisfied customer. Manager changed room without informing the customer too
Very shabby inside and out. Overpriced or we got taken. Room was dated and dirty. Needs major update. First thing we saw when we walked into the room was the smudged dirty mirror next to bathroom door. Heating unit smelled bad when we turned it on. Needed to be vacuumed as the carpet was old and there were crumbs, lint and who knows what all over. And dont look between the bed and nightstand. Front desk hel was ok as there is not much they needed to tell us. It might be nice if the staff doesnt begin a personal conversation between each other about after work while supposedly providing customer service.
I arrived to my room at approximately midnight after a LONG day of driving across country. All I wanted to do was get to my room and fall asleep. I was given a room across the parking lot, which was fine; however, the entire building smelled like strong cigarette smoke throughout (even though multiple signs were posted saying non smoking). I arrived to my room and with one glance I was dissatisfied. The comforter on the bed had multiple stains on it, the bed was made, but the sheets and pillows had hairs on them. In the bathroom, I found multiple long black hairs in the shower area, a cigarette on the ground, along with a penny. I was very frustrated that this happened.
Very bad experience. House keeping stuff removed mine and my husbands clothes and other things from my room and when we complained the owner was very rude and not even apologized once. i wanted to give negative stars if possible. very horrible experience and owner doesnt even know the basic manners of how to talk to people. if you can spend 10 or 20 dollars extra there are lots of good hotels nearby and please avoid this hotel. i will never recommend it to anyone. Worst experience in my life.
I remember staying in this hotel about 20 years ago, loved it then. Came back again for a birthday visit. Furnishings have to be the same since my last visit. Run down, broken, dingy. Air conditioning was terrible, foul smell in the kitchen, stains on the shower curtain, broken door on the armoire, tiny televisions which look more like small computer monitors. Definitely undeserving of the title Quality Inn, nothing quality about anything here.
I stayed in the Quality Inn & Suites by Albany Airport. I absolutely will come back to this hotel in the future for my future business travels. The price was excellent for the services rendered, and the breakfast waffles are always delightful. My biggest complaint is that when there is snow covering the parking lot and its extremely hard to find a place to park, the staff on hand really should take efforts to, you know, SHOVEL THE PARKING LOT. Im not referring to the people at the main desk. No, I refer to the staff that told me whilst I was in the lot that they work there and asked if I needed help shoveling my spot.....which I would not have had to do if they had actually done that part of their job in the first place.
After finishing an exhausting day I was Disappointed to learn there were limited Available rooms in the area.Upon calling your property, and I was greeted very pleasantly, I was so pleased to hear of your availability for a non smoking room.Upon arriving I was immediately greeted by a very nice young man who was so professional, pleasant and informative . He immediately made me feel welcomed. He first offered meA room in the seperate building. I was not comfortable with that. Safety wise.He offered me an upgraded room on the main floor. Much He then was so kind.and offered to help me get my bags. No need . I was so hungry and tired .After offering me the Sushi RESTAURANT next door. (which is my favorite) but I was too tired. He then gave me a Menu for a Lovely pizza place that delivers. I am gluten freeTherefore, getting a delicious gluten free pizza is Very rare (this was the best I have ever had) I am in the restaurant business an d also a Chef. Unfortunately I only got 4 hours of sleep because I had to do it all over again.Thank you for a wonderful end to an exhausting day. I will be back again.
Hotel is convenient to the airport without having to listen to planes overhead constantly. Room was nice and more than adequate. Hotel property, including our room, had a smell almost like it had never been properly cleaned when smoking inside was banned - rather off putting.
The hotel is a little tired and in need of updating and remodeling. However, the staff was very helpful and friendly. Our king suite was clean and comfortable and worked for an overnight stay before an early morning flight. The shuttle was prompt getting us to the airport. The breakfast had eggs, sausage, waffles and the usual other fare. The ladies working the breakfast area were very efficient and friendly.
Staff is excellent! With that being said, the rooms leave a lot to be desired. First room, the cooling was horrible and the shower head fell off. The second room was slightly better in that the cooling worked a little better and the shower head didnt fall off, but the spray from the shower was horrible and the massage setting had to be used. Also the floor between the bed and the wall was dirty. If my family was with me we would have left for a different hotel.
This is an older hotel and it has some maintenance issues. However, the bed was very comfortable and it is close to the Albany airpot. The value is outstanding. Park and fly is available but the shuttle stops at midnight. Many flights come in just after midnight and your out of luck if youre on one of those or if your flight that is scheduled to get in before then is late. The staff was extremely courteous and I was recognized as a Diamond member (which only happens about 25% of the time). In and out was very fast and the folio was under my door in the morning.
The entire staff goes out of their way to deliver services to their guests. Recently I have not found that attitude at other hotels and this team seems to have one goal. ACCOMMODATING their GUEST.A quality that should be exploited by your chain.Other than the breakfast quality (not serving name brand cereals for a healthy breakfast) this hotel does it right. The bathrooms need some updating but the linen and towels were more than adequate.I have stayed there sevderal times and this Inn has continually gotten better.
Have stayed here several times over the years when we fly into Albany to visit family in Canada. This is a good, basic hotel with reasonable rates usually. The rooms have always been clean with comfortable beds. The staff is friendly and there is a good Japanese steakhouse just across the parking lot that has great lunch specials.
I am normally quite pleased with my stays at Choice Hotels (including this one, where I have stayed before) but was quite shocked when I got up in the morning to catch an early flight and found that there was no water. Upon checking out, I reported it to the desk clerk whose reply was: oh, that was a scheduled outage so that the plumbers could take care of some issues - the good news is that its back on now if youd like to return to your room and shower...... I chose not to in lieu of missing my cross-country flight. Had this info been posted at the front desk when I checked in around 9:30 p.m. the night before, I would have showered that evening and would have made sure that I had water set aside to brush my teeth h in the morning. I am appalled that there was no adjustment in the points charged against my account in light of the situation.
STAY FAR AWAY!!! From beginning to end, the check in process was pretty smooth. After getting into the room, you could tell the room hasnt been updated since it was built, however that wasnt a deal breaker. The carpet felt cloggy as if it has never been steamed and cleaned. However, the real issue was after check out. About 2 hours later, I realize there is a charge of $100 on top of the total for the room. So I decided to call to verify what the charge was for. Immediately the front desk agent, who changed her title at least 3 times started to say that the carpet was ruined and destroyed. I was a little confused because under the impression that maybe there were places in the room that my husband and I may have overlooked but I know that couldnt have been the case. The initial reason for our trip was for Valentines Day so yes, their were rose pedals left over, which what I would of considered an easy sweep. Their were candles lit as well. She proceeded to say that was against hotel policy so now I began to question where exactly on your site does it say that is prohibited considering Ive stayed at many hotels and I have never heard of that, she started raising her voice, until I had to let her know that is unnecessary and not to be rude. Her excuse was that she has a cold and has to start speaking loud, which was obviously BS. To be very honest, I only inquired about the fee and would of been on my way but her entire tone and manner on the phone was so disgusting. I asked for her name numerous times as well as her actual manager, she quickly said the name and hung up. I called back and said that was extremely rude, even requested to speak to the manager who just so happened not to be working. She said is that all, before I could even answer, she disconnected again. I called back twice, no answer so I decided to call back off of another number, she picks up and recognizes that it is me after I told her that her customer service was terrible and she told me and I quote well dont reserve here again and hung up. I even had my husband call from his phone and she displayed the same rude behavior and hung up on him. I would never recommend to anyone. EVER!!!!
The hotels appearance is clean and inviting when walking into the lobby. The breakfast area is off to the right of the entrance so on cold days, bundle up to eat breakfast. The rooms are definitely old including the furniture. The place requires an updating. The door on my particular room would not latch the deadbolt but the swing bar does line up. The Sink stopper in the bathroom would not pull down far enough to keep water inside the sink. With that said while the rooms and furniture are dated, it is in good working order. The bed is comfortable, the showers are hot and the water pressure is nice. The fitness room could also use some work. Again machines are dated, the stepper machine does not work.
The staff at the front desk was awesome and accommodating at check in and check out. We had our room up graded to a suite. However our room really could use some updating and housekeeping need to pay attention to bedding and floor cleaning. Plus a separate location with pet rooms may deter people away.
Unfortunately, I get stuck here frequently for work. Staff is very nice but other than that the hotel is dated, not well maintained, not clean and youre lucky if the A/C works or you can find a convenient outlet for plugging in phones or medical devices (ie CPAP). If you turn off the lights, the fridge turns off so you wake up to warm drinks. Urine stains around toilets are common and showers are rarely clean. Im giving two stars because the staff is nice. Hotel itself would get zero.
Looked clean. No funky smell like the other nearby quality inn. WiFi is very weak. T.V. is very old, had some trouble using it. Called FD and someone came to room to help. Nice service. Very close to Target, very nice and convenient. Near a Japanese restaurant that have a deal (20% off, show room key). Water cooler in lobby, thats good when Im thirsty at night.
Positive: location they moved me to a jacuzzi suite to try to make up for bad room Negative: pathetic breakfast room has plugged toilet, shower had one temp...HOT carpet wet due to plumbing issue tried to give me a dirty room when they attempted to move me new room missing a TV and no cooking materials even though it was a full kitchen
I Have stay at much better hotels, AC in one room would not cool, Elevator did not work had to carry 4 heavy suitcases up the dirtiest stairwell I have ever seen, Security door on stairwells did not work ( locks did not lock ), lady at front desk made the people mad about there reservation and then acted like a woman who didnt want to be at her job, talked to me like I was dirt.
Had a hard time finding a room in the area and was happy to get this one. I agree with others that the carpets are worn and older but our room was clean and certainly no bugs! The front desk staff were all friendly and helpful and the on-site breakfast was convenient...I recommend the waffles!
We use to always go there for a little get away on weekends me and my wife this is local for us and the new management is completely rude my wife was getting dressed and the guy who I believe to be house keeping just walks rgt in our room even with the do not disturb sign in the card slot he still came rgt in.The shower rod was broken the beds are hard and I asked for two extra pillows as my wife has breathing problems and she refused to give them too me.This place is horrible I had to clean out the ac filters they were full of lint and dust causing the ac to blow out warm air and after cleaning them it worked fine except the one in the living space as we had a suite with a hot tub.It is very sad ruined our whole weekend and we have never had a problem with this hotel over the years till now.We understand some things are being redone but cleanliness should not be over looked in this time with covid and things going on.It is disgusting there to say the lease very dissatisfied with this stay.we stayed in room 133 the second weekend and room 227 the first weekend if you look at the things I said you will find exactly what I’m complaining about.
We took advantage of Park N Fly Rate. Great value for spending night and leaving car in a lighted lot. Room was as expected--could use new furniture but adequate and clean. Bed was comfortable. We were given a large suite upon check-in, a nice gesture. Breakfast area was clean and food was the usual good quality provided by Quality Inns. Returned following a snow storm. Louis was very gracious and helpful. Provided brush to clean car, offered coffee for the road, and later on assisted in helping me locate a car key I misplaced.
Called the day we needed a park and fly reservation and got the most helpful reservationist in the world! She booked the stay and informed us that the shuttle driver would also be our chef in the morning so no problem with the early departure! We arrived late. Check in was very smooth and the gentleman behind the desk was extremely polite and helpful. A wonderful experience all around. The room was huge, warm and very comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel!
The staff was GREAT!!! and the location also. After seeing the show Undercover Boss I thought The choice hotel group would keep A eye on their Properties that carry their name...Not the case here.. The hotel is so dirty and needs a complete overhaul. Carpets in the room ,furniture, bathrooms and T.V.s out of date.. No security in separate buildings can just walk right in... This place could be a diamond if the owner put some money back into the hotel. I say this because it was booked when we stayed great location to all.
Beds were clean, carpet was relatively new, bathroom was clean. AJ at front desk was friendly, outgoing and helpful. Took advantage of park and fly. Car was parked near entrance under street light for two weeks--great! Took advantage of shuttle to and from airport. The gentleman driving the van was on time, courteous and friendly. Called from airport and he arrived within 20 minutes as promised. Motel is older thus rooms are a bit shop worn. Heater fan was loud, typical of older motels. As a rewards member given a suite; advantage is that the beds are far away from the hall door should there be hall noise, which there wasnt. This was a return stay for park n fly.
Got a room with a hot tub in it for Valentines Day. When I arrived the Jacuzzi was filthy and full of human hair and other things. There were bugs on the wall by the mirror to the jacuzzi, bugs on the bed and crawling from under the stove! Absolutely dont recommend this place!!!!!! No refund either! Needless to say, I left 2hrs into being there.
This was a okay hotel. The hallway of the NON-SMOKING building still smelled like smoke. It looked like they hadnt updated anything in the room since the mid-1990s, so it was a bit strange. The location was convenient, but the hotel wasnt much better than the lower price motels in the area. It was okay for a place to stay, but it wouldnt be okay if we needed to spend a lot of time in the room.
The hotel is very nice, very clean. I stay there alot in the course of a year.. I am a non smoker, and I get really nice clean rooms in the main building .. When I travel with my wife, I request a smoking room because my wife smokes . Those smoking rooms seem to get no attention to when it comes to cleaning. Seems if you are a smoker, the accomdations are the same as if we were staying at a run down Econolodge ... I will continue to stay there because of its location and convenience to stores and restaurants and a great staff ..
We have stayed here several times because of early morning flights. The rooms are large and comfortable, and its a quick trip to the airport on their shuttle. The staff is always pleasant and very accommodating. Having the restaurant, Sake, across the parking lot makes a very easy night of it and the restaurant gives a 20% discount to Quality Inn guests. Weve used this hotel because of its ParkandFly options and proximity to the airport.
I had a very nice stay, 7 nights and it was a pleasure to work with your friendly staff. I’m a Gold card member and have been staying there for many years. I understand you are in the process of doing the whole place over and changing the name as well. I’m sure it will be very nice and look forward to my next stay in your new upgrades.
Room needed. Good cleaning and some repairs needed. The floor was coming up held down by duct tape. There was dust n dirt all over. The air conditioning unit blew dust and made horrible noises. The floor had not been cleaned in some time. The furniture was showing its age with a large rip in the couch. It was obvious no housekeeping took pride in keeping the room clean and that management does not look at ways to repair or fix problems in a professional way
I loved the service here and the staff were extremely welcoming. Im originally from one of the five boroughs in NY, and coming here showed me that New Yorkers from Albany are much nicer and the service is excellent. I would definitely go this time for a small getaway. I actually couldnt stay for my the original length stay and the front desk had no problem helping me. Loved it Thank you
It was maybe a 15 min shuttle ride to the airport. This our first time flying from Albany and it was a very positive experience. Wife and I were the only passengers being shuttled at 10am to the airport. Airport is small, clean, excellent signage, and easy to use. No TSA-precheck at 10:30am, but we were given a card by TSA and it was just walking thru the metal detector and could leave coat, shoes, etc on. Worked out just fine.We were upgrade to a king suite and this was a nice upgrade for our hotel experience.
The price was good, the room was clean but less than average in furnishings, and the breakfast buffet was the typical make-your-own pancakes, cold eggs, and boring bagels & pastries, with inadequate seating to accommodate the morning rush.My review is influenced by the fact that we were traveling as part of a group: every other member of our party was given a room in the main building while our room was in one of the unattached buildings on the property. We had a non-smoking room as we requested, however the hallway of our building strongly smelled of tobacco smoke. Alas, it was a disappointing experience.
If price is your only deciding factor, keep looking. The rooms were clean, but run down including a non-functioning door lock and exterior doors unsecured. The breakfast was sad; waffles were the best item by far. Coffee was dark flavorless water. But what really set the experience apart, was working with the Manager Regina. Being yelled at, threatened, accused and humiliated were not my highlights of the check-in process, but seemed to be the only service she was able to provide.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Absolute worst hotel management Ive ever dealt with. We stayed 3 nights total. At 9:30pm the night before we were to be checking out (less than 12 hours before we checked out), we came back to find a note typed up on computer paper (not even hotel letterhead) saying that there was water damage found in our bathroom ceiling and that we had to move to another room that night. I asked the concierge that night if we could just stay the night in the same room since we were checking out so soon. He called his manager who said we were in fact required to move that night. So after being exhausted all day, we packed up our stuff and moved to another room. I asked that night about a refund and was told I could speak to the manager in the morning at check out. When we checked out, low and behold the manager was nowhere to be found. I left my name and phone number with the concierge that morning and was told the manager would call me the following day. Four days passed and I heard nothing from this manager so I called the hotel back myself. After being on hold for 20 minutes and again not getting to speak with a manager myself, I was told by the concierge that I would be credited 20% of 1 nights stay back. Thats equivalent to $22. My entire stay cost over $350. Not once was I able to speak to this manager, nor did a single employee even apologize to me or admit fault at all. You are better off staying in a tent on the side of the road than dealing with this atrocious hotel.**Edit. also note that the pull out couch was broken and unusable, the TV was older than me, breakfast was inedible, and the air conditioning barely worked.
This was a second stay in three months. Unfortunately, items I brought to the attention of the front desk where NOT fixed/corrected. I was in an out building, which is fine with me. My quest was not happy that the exterior door did not lock. The room door lock also did not function well. The building is older. However, Im older but I work better. Maybe they need to do some preventative maintenance or just do SOME maintenance.
Do not stay at this hotel. I have stayed at other hotels for similar prices and they were much better than this. The condition of the room was horrible. It smelled like a mixture of sweat, mold and cigarette smoke. The furniture and television were extremely outdated and the bed was not comfortable at all. Disgusting is the perfect word for this room.
Poor quality! Just a dump! Ripped and stained carpets throughout the hotel, ripped and stained curtains in our room, black mold all over the bathroom, chunks of wood out of the furniture, 13 inch tv that you cant see laying in bed. I would not have stayed but we were there for shopping and didn’t spend much time there and there were no bedbugs, the only good thing! I did take numerous pictures of the quality and asked to see a manager but they were never there when I was. Also when we checked in the guy said we were being upgraded to this room, would hate to see the downgraded version!

2022-02-16Stayed in the Jacuzzi room 227 for Valentines weekend. For the price we paid the room was a good value. The room had a laundry list of minor maintenance issues including worn electrical outlets that wont hold a charger, bent shower curtain rod letting water spray all over the bathroom walls, collapsing couch with broken pullout bed frame, etc. That being said, it was a two room Jacuzzi suite with kitchen for under $150 on a weekend. The mattress and pillows were comfortable, linens were fresh and the water was plenty hot. If you expect perfection at a hotel regardless of the price point you will probably be disappointed here, but we enjoyed the place and would stay again. Staff were friendly and the best part, housekeeping wished us a happy Valentines Day on our way out the door.

2022-04-02Since new management or owners have taken over the place has gone dramatically down hill. The room was clean but many things needed attention. The lobby and hallways are filthy. The elevator was especially disgusting. The rate was good. We have stayed many times in the past but now they no longer have a airport shuttle. Unfortunately we will not be back. Really to bad because it used to be a nice place.

2022-05-31Worst Quality Inn I have stayed at. Room smelled of mildew so badly that it penetrated my clothes and hair. The bed was horrible, springs were broken and mattress was hard and lumpy. The room was dusty. Carpeting in hall very worn and wavy, a tripping hazard. Breakfast very minimal. So disappointed. Should have left right away and asked for refund. Live and learn.

2022-06-17Guy at the front desk was super friendly but hands down the grossest place I’ve ever come across to stay in. The place must have serious water problems because you can smell it when you walk into the room. Even in the elevator you can hear the sound of splashing water for some reason??? Front lobby looks fantastic but once you leave it, you’re in for a treat. I’m not particularly picky when it comes to getting a hotel room but this is the first time in my life I felt uncomfortable with a room and decided to sleep in the car instead. Skip this place if you’re considering it because it’s cheap. Not worth it.

2022-04-11The room was okay. It appeared clean. That being said it is the only part of the hotel that was clean. The hallway reeked of urine. It was dingy with a wrinkled and ripped carpet. The elevator looked like it was on a construction site. Chunks of dirt everywhere. Looks like it hadnt been cleaned in I dont know how long. I like quality inn but this place was not well run at all.

2022-01-18The rooms are nice and spacious and the staff are quite nice. When I called to reserve a room they were very understanding and met my needs. The only caveat I had was the only way to obtain snacks throughout the day was through the front desk rather than a vending machine.

2022-06-19Positive: It was easy to get on and off of our route through the city. Negative: No quality at Quality INN. Sign:we know were outdated. Every hallway smelled like marijuana(no-smoking hotel) and that leached into our room. The shower had substantial mold on the walls, wifi didnt work. Didnt want to touch anything anywhere.

2022-05-30I know theyve been getting complaints over the past months about how the hotel itself is falling apart. Well, that part is true. Protip: Indian owners of any franchised hotel, that is operated and owned by them, will always not be the best. They will skimp out on everything yet charge you a rate that doesnt match what you get. Expect things to not be repaired, furnished with new items, or any renovation done. Youve be warned. They cheap out on most things regarding hotels that they own.

2022-06-28If I could do zero stars I would. They lie about pet fees, the room smelled of mildew. There was dust and probably asbestos in the vents and light fitures in the ceilings, the carpet was FILTHY and most likely covered in mold since it was so dark, appliances barely worked, curtains were covered in some kind of stains, the doors to the property didnt even CLOSE, so the property was super unsafe, and the staff is terrible. The whole place should be demolished and turned into a giant parking lot. They already have two abandoned buildings on their property and I see why. I booked this place by accident and couldnt change locations last minute. I will never come here again.

2022-04-22This should be called the poor quality in. There is absolutely NOTHING quality about it. The bedsheets were dirty, the mattresses both had huge blood stains on them. The carpets and couch had debris crusted on and looked like they had ever seen a vacuum or shampoo. There were dead fleas between the sheets. The warm continental breakfast we were promised turned out to be juice with black particles floating in it, bruised apples, and prepackaged danishes that were stale. Terrible place to stay!
