Reposting from my yelp review...I normally do not write reviews but I had to share my experience. This office has declined over the past few years and after this mornings appointment, I have decided I will be going to another office for my yearly exams.I had a 9a appointment this morning and I was told that I should arrive at 8:45a so I can go through the pre-testing. I arrived on time to a dark office and after writing my name on the sign-in sheet, I had to call out to see if anyone was in the office. A doctor came out and advised that the receptionist is usually there to welcome patients but they had not arrived yet. At exactly 9a, the doctor asked a billing contact to help check me in and to confirm my medical and state ID. At this time, the support staff finally came in - one carrying an ice coffee. The doctor was pleasant and apologized twice for the staff being late. Two times more than anyone on the support staff. They did not apologize for being late, and one of the front desk clerks was finishing his breakfast while confirming appointments. I had to do the procedures usually done before the exam after my eyes were dilated, which Im sure you could understand was difficult. The front desk is the first thing patients see and its sad that the owners do not invest in their support staff. Ive already made an appointment at another eye doctor for my yearly exam next year
This isnt your ordinary eye doctor. Dr Chung takes tremendous care and spends enough time explaining in detail what you have and must do. She handles our entire family and is top notch. Its a one stop shop for all and everyone is warm, caring and very professional. Thank you for your care!
My husband went in for eye check up because his cornea had been scratched which the front desk was aware of. Due to their miscommunication and knowledge they proceeded to have my husband take an eye exam prior to seeing the Dr as part of the routine. The technician proceeded to take the test that involved multiple flashing lights directly to the eye. This shouldve been a big no no since the cornea is sensitive to light the technician shouldnt have run that test. After speaking to the dr she proceeded to tell him she would notify the technician not to run the test which he advised her had already happen. Are you kidding me??? I will sue this place if something goes wrong with his eye!!!! Unbelievable...UPDATE: Funny how the bad reviews here just suggest that we were never here. This incident occurred over a year ago so I doubt the staff can recall. My husband was even billed for $30. I called and spoke to an older lady in charge of bills. I began explaining the incident to her in a calm manner and she had the nerve to cut me off and tell me she had no time for this and to just not pay the bill.
Due to the fact that to me my problem was a big deal because Im not 30 yet and I cant see at night when I drive. I wear glasses and contact lenses. I have a regular doctor that I have been seeing for years but I just felt that I needed to get another opinion (25 doctors I have seen since I was 6 years old). But then, when I got there not only they were more focus on getting me to purchase their contact lenses cash , the woman that saw me said that there was no need for her to change the prescription at all. She wouldnt even dilate my eyes. I almost cried when I left because every year the doctor dilate my eyes and change my prescription to help me see. Anyways , now Im back with my regular doctor . Im never coming back here again. If you want to get the right treatment DONT GO TO QUEENS EYES ASSOCIATES.
The doctors here have been great overall. However, the front office associates tend to drop the ball quite often. One time Ive called in advance to fill out some DMV vision forms for my license renewal. The associate who asnwered the call just told me to stop by as that can be done quickly. So I went, and Ive had to go with my toddler at the time, I ended up waiting there close to 2 hours with my toddler going hungry since it was past his lunch time -- all because the associate placed my forms at the doctors door without communicating, and the doctor never even knew about the forms for over an hour. Another time, my wife had her vision exam done and had asked the associate for her copy of the prescription so she could order her contacts online. They told her theyll email that to her but nothing ever came. So sounds like we have to make calls to demand them again.I am not sure if I will particularly recommend this place to anyone else based on my experience.
The eye Doctor told me that I needed cataract surgery in one of my eyes. She went ahead and gave me a bunch of tests, that I didnt need. The eye specialist told me that those tests should have been done after the surgery, not before. I ended up paying 100% for those stupid test that were not needed. I have been going to this place for over 15 years of my life. I dont trust them anymore with my eye care needs.
I came in for a very basic visual acuity test in order to renew my drivers license. Was told that a basic procedure like this was covered by my insurance. The visit was painfully long, as I was stuck in the waiting room for close to 1 hour.A few weeks later, my primary eye doctor informs me that he could perform a full eye examination because Queens Eye Associates filed my basic acuity as a full eye exam, even though they did not give me a new prescription.DO NOT COME HERE. THEIR GOAL IS TO OBTAIN AS MUCH MONEY FROM YOU AS A PATIENT, WHETHER ITS OUT OF POCKET, OR TAKING ADVANTAGE OF MISINFORMATION.
Came here for an annual eye exam, appointment was for 1120am, arrived on time and I still had to wait another hour just to be seen for a 5 min procedure. If I am on time, why arent you guys? I would not recommend coming here if you look forward to a long wait time. Your appointment time doesnt even matter. Not coming back, see ya!!
Be careful going as a first time patient wanting a contact prescription. When booking my appointment on the phone, I requested an eye exam to refill my contact prescription which had run out. Halfway through the exam with the optometrist, she asked me if I also wanted a fitting for lenses since there was an extra charge. This lead to my confusion as that was what I wanted.I spoke with Cesar about the matter and only then was I ever informed that contact lens exams were an extra $100 on top of my co-pay. I explained that I was never told this at any time prior(booking the appt on the phone, signing papers from the receptionist, pre-exam with assistant). I asked if it were possible to not get a prescription for glasses, but contacts only. He then told me new patients could not get a contact only exam, only if you were a prior patient. After much talking, he tried to tell me it was my fault for not knowing this policy... I was offered no apology from him, nor did he try in any way to make matters right.I left soon after when my exam was finished(fairly avg exam, optometrist initially wanted to change my prescription before seeing that my glasses were perfectly fine). As I paid for the visit, I quickly explained what happened again to the receptionist. She only offered a half-hearted apology, also with no effort to correct the matter.Needless to say I will never be coming back. If you are seeking a new optometrist, look elsewhere. Their practices are incompetent at best, unethical at worst.
Not the best experience you could get. They told me to pick up my contact lenses anytime and now theyre telling me to come back tomorrow after all this time, without even informing me about the updated closing hour. Their website says they end at 7pm but now they say they end at 4:30pm. This place is very unorganized with their business updates and time management. I wouldnt come back to this place after this unpleasant experience.
Stuck up female doctor and loads of test to bill my insurance. Staff is too busy chatting with each other to tend to patients. None of the test results were discussed with me and I left with nothing. Just an eyeglass prescription, which wasnt even the purpose of my appointment. No benefit at all to me. It was a waste of my time and money.
My visit was regarding a stye that was growing and pretty obvious and I also went for a comprehensive checkup. The Dr told me that I shouldnt remove the stye unless its for cometic reasons. This is ridiculous because she should have removed it and biopsied it. She also didnt tell me that my eye pressure was high and that we should test further for glaucoma. This is HORRIBLE! After all the testing I left without any information or care other than a glasses prescription that was way too strong for me. My eyes didnt get use to the prescription even after a year. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! She was pretentious and her bedside manner was rude and insulting even though I was friendly. The staff there is not much better. Its been over 2 years and I had to write this review because it was such a terrible experience. If you care about your eyes dont put them in their hands.
There were a lot of people waiting.Waiting was not that long. Started with eye exam, talked with MD, took a picture of eye, came back to talk with MD at the end. It took about more than 1 hour and 30 min to complete. Very busy place. Overall, I wouldnt come back this place unless the office is closed to where I live.
Update: Two months later, I did not receive the glasses and got a refund. I got refund.I havent received my glasses in two months. I have to make two phone calls, and when I ask for a refund, they just hang up.It paased over two months but I don’t get glasses for my mom yet. They never called us and I always made calls to get update. When I asked refund, Jay just did hang up the phone. What a nice service.

2022-07-03I came to the office to pick up my glasses at 4:40pm and the door was locked, according to them business hrs are form9-5. I called and knocked but no one answered so I was wanting outside and the full staff came out at 5pm and they didn’t want to help stating that they’re “closed”…I’ve been a patient with them for more than 20yrs and never had this happened until this new management came along.Update: last week I went back for my glasses on a Saturday. Got there at 4:40pm and they were still opened and the manager was there..thanks guys!

2019-12-04Staff are nice. When I called I spoke to this gentlemen, he was very helpful and managed to find me an open spot to get my contact and glasses prescription. Receptionist are nice 👍🏻👍🏻. Seems like they have different doctors on certain days but the one that I saw, she was quick and new what I needed. Facility is clean and they even have hooks on the wall for jackets to hang, I found this very handy since I visited with my kid. They do not have own parking spot but street parking is easily found around the block.Definitely recommended!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

2019-10-07My husband and I had such a pleasant experience at Queens Eye Associates! From the reception desk (thank you Alessandra) to the Doctor (Dr.Pan) and glass fitting (Cesar), as well as everyone else involved - we knew we were in great hands. We will be picking up our glasses in 7-10 days and we are excited to go back. I highly recommend you go there. Exceptional services!

2020-02-03I had a great experience at Queens Eye Associates for my general eye exam. I used to dread going to the optometrist because my eyes are quite sensitive, so I didnt appreciate the various procedures and eye drops and I disliked my previous experiences at my previous physicians office. In the past I always felt rushed and that my eyes werent carefully inspected. But Ive found my go-to optometrist Dr. Yoon Kim and I wont consider seeing anyone else!I booked my appointment the night before and there was availability for the following afternoon. Booking through Zocdoc is simple and the office contacted me the following day to see if I can come in 40 minutes earlier than scheduled since my appointment would take about an hour. It wasnt a problem, so when I arrived at the office and filled out forms, I waited about 5-7 minutes, which wasnt long at all. Initially I was booked for Dr. Chung, but she was busy, so I saw Dr. Kim instead and Im so glad I did. Dr. Kim is amazing! My appointment consisted of a general checkup to see the overall health of my eyes, eye exam to update my eye glasses and contact lenses prescriptions and a brief consultation with Caesar regarding my contacts. The entire appointment lasted about 1 hour 10 minutes.Dr. Kim was very thorough in examining my eyes, explained every detail clearly and addressed any questions I had. Apparently my eyes are very very dry where it borders on severe and could significantly affect the health and vision of my eyes going forward. This was news to me as my previous optometrist never mentioned any irregularities in my eyes in the past. Dr. Kim was meticulous throughout the appointment, and explained each step as she went along. She made me feel comfortable and at ease, even after she administered 3 different eye drops. She recommended 2 types of eye drops to treat my extremely dry eyes, that I switch to dailies, and decrease my contact lenses wear. She also held off updating my eyeglasses prescription until my cornea is treated, since this would inform my vision. Dr. Kim was careful and patient during the entire appointment and I highly recommend her.Caesar who assisted in giving my a trial set of daily contact lenses was very friendly and patient. Its convenient to order the contacts and eyeglasses with this section of the office, that serves as a store. However without vision coverage, this consultation was an additional $50. I dont see how a simple 5 minute encounter to switch to these daily contacts came to that amount. That was my only critique on my experience. The office assistants were friendly and addressed any concerns I had. Overall I had a really pleasant time at Queens Eye Associates and will be booking my future annual eye exams here.

2021-02-23WARNING I DO NOT think most of the 4 stars review are real, my experience in this location was the worst I ever had in my life. Dr Chung was very unprofessional, lack of empathy for my situation, rushing, rude and negligent. The optical has the same bad qualities, Cesar was the person who assisted me full of attitude and just wanted me to pay out of my pocket for my glasses when my insurance would have covered it. As you could read all the 4 or 5 stars review the owner replies thankfully to all of them but does not care to ask, support, help, and respond to the negative ones. That tells how IMMATURE and careless the owner is, a good professional or a good owner will try to find out, fix and resolve any bad incident that reflects negatively for this business but another way that they all the same. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Very offensive for you to say for sure that I was not a patient, I was there and had Dc Chung, then I was refered to a big fat dude that it was in the section of the glasses, there is no way to contact the office directly bc no one cared.

2021-02-19BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! Scammers!! I have been going to Queens Eye Associates for a few years now and never had a problem. Recently, I asked a representative at QEA if I can come to make a small adjustment to my sunglasses which I purchased from them some time ago. They scheduled an appointment and after that I was able to come. They made me wait in an almost empty office for 45 minutes and then finally the optician took the glasses in order to make an adjustment. This particular optician used to be quite helpful before, but this time he intentionally damaged one lens on the sunglasses and refused to admit that he did it. Instead he made me pay to fix the lens. After speaking with a reluctant manager I was able to proove that it was his mistake. The manager did not have much of a respect for me as a patient and tried to get out of the situation by constantly lying.

2019-10-02Took my son for an eye check up. Everyone was friendly and professional. The doctor was very nice and she treated my 4 year old with patience. I also got my glasses adjusted at no extra cost to me.

2019-11-14Dr. Chung and all the staff members are always pleasant and helpful. The only reason I had to wait to be seen is that I was early. I can always be assured that I will be seen close to my appointment time.Dr. Chung has always given me a thorough examination and explained any issues she found.
