Horrible place if you are looking for a quiet place with a friendly environment. We tried to get a library card for my grandfather who knows a bit of English. The worker at the front desk was very rude and made mean and immature comments. The childrens room is chaotic with kids running everywhere and screaming and the staff is no help whatsoever. Parents yell at one another and cuss. Not a good place to read!
If youre reading this past 3pm dont even bother going. Once 3pm hits the staff allows countless kids to run, scream, chant, kick, play, invade and disregard any rules. Chairs are uncomfortable and limited outlets for laptop usage. Library has a limited selection of books. Try the one near fresh meadows. Good luck!
Honestly speaking this is a good library but I’m giving it two stars for an reason. They really need to control the noise level it’s like a zoo in there and the sad thing is they don’t tell the children to be quiet and it’s really sad. The children even have fights there. Lefrak city library fix yourself!! The children can talk but not yell fix your library!!
SOME MODIFICATIONS ARE NEEDED.Grate staff willing to help but some of them shouts at the teens (from the desk) to ask them to make silence what does not make much sense for me cause they should give the example of a good behave to them, but they respond by yelling.Last summer they did not have air conditioner (I hope they get it for this summer) and the cams are not working.

2022-05-15I liked this library. It is a quiet library go to. I was very productive there. They have a quiet place by the teens area where there are several desks, actually more like cubicles, with individual charging plugs, so you wont be bothered by others who are trying to charge their devices as well. Very helpful when you are trying to focus. They have remote printing for documents you want to print out. You log in online, upload 20 pages, and they will email you when your prints are ready to pick up. Another helpful service they offer. All open Queens Public Library actually offer remote printing, but only 20 pages per day, which isnt bad at all. You can also print out 20 pages when you are at the library, too. This isnt just a quiet library; it is clean, too. And equally wonderful are helpful and approachable. Sadly, very unfortunate, though is that they are undergoing renovation, so this location is closed at the moment. I hope they finish renovations soon🙏🙏🙏🙏

2019-08-29One of the noisiest libraries ever. Kids run like its the park screaming. There is no quiet. If you want to read or study you are better off trying on the subway. Ive never seen a library like this. The kids were playing music loudly and none of the staff said anything. Speaking of which I dont think I saw any staff there. An old woman pulled her wagon out and set of the sensor. No one said anything and she walked out with books. Some kid was using his scooter inside the library. This is not a park. This is not your rec center. This is not a day care. Its a library. I see kids with no parents walk in here. Something has to change because this is just insane.

2020-12-03Havent been here in 4 years, but I used to go here as a teenager around a decade ago. The library is very spacious, clean, & well-maintained. It had a decent collection of books.

2020-01-02This library is so convenient and a great resource for the community. I was able to take my child there when she was young to access the computers and retrieve books for projects. We were able to get books delivered from other libraries. I utilize the computers when needed. Had my nephew participate in a spelling bee. Listened to and met Rep. Cortez (AOC).I would like to especially thank Ms. S. Edwards for facilitating a request that my daughter needed for an online course when the library seemed like our only option.

2018-03-12Before they renovated about 3 years ago, this was a pleasant place to visit during my lunch hour with a nice collection of both fiction and non fiction. Since then, its tons of empty space and their collection has completely shrunk. Previously, I could almost find something interesting to read in the new arrivals section that took up several shelves. Thats past. Basically, the pickings are slim. For those of us who still consider a public librarys main purpose to be that of offering books to read, skip this branch.

2018-08-13Walking in I instantly felt out of place. This library is more like play ground. Children running, screaming and music playing. Music was coming from a meeting room where a group of elderly folks were doing exercises. Im all for good health but they should keep the door closed and respect that a library should be quiet. Guess the door was open because the AC is weak. Reason for coming to the library is to have peace and quiet to focus on reading and working on homework/projects with no distractions.

2019-03-01I go to this library it does get noisy because of kids but there is a seperate room thats real quite for if you need to study or just read in quiet. There are also many comfortable seats to sit at which is what i like most.

2016-08-21Do not have any characteristics of a typical library at all. Kids running around, screaming their lungs out while playing ball, cards, video game and no one says a thing. Worst of all, they dont have any air conditioning, just giant fans. And it wasnt like temporary, its every week. Didnt the city fund them enough to pay their electric bills? Anyway, good luck finding peace and quiet there.

2019-11-09Close at 5 and starting turn off lights at 4:45 and turn off all the computer at 4:30. Seriously? A lay staff was nice enough to ask their manager if they can turn PC back on for me and of course no. You guys should remove that welcome anybody sign on the doors because shame on you, you are a group of ignorant, arrogant librarian who are not flexible and having compassion to people in need ( within the operating time) date: 11/9/19

2016-12-12If the library was what it was when i was growing up i would consider this library out of order. seeing how in the community of lefrak city there are no longer any community centers all of the children come to the library. The staff are under staffed and they all are doing the best they can there are no other outlets for the children and this library does a great job of providing programs and activities for the children, yes its a little loud but they have anywhere from 50-160 children from ages 5-18. ( I mean who can really control the noise levels ) as for where their quiet room is located they should move it seeing how it is on the teen side. further more the lay out of lefrak city library is like a gym its impossible for the noise not to carry. but over all this branch is family oriented and the children adore the staff. I frequent here because i like the personal relationships that the staff provide to the patrons of all ages. Im From Lefrak City And I Love My Local Library
