Extremely unhappy with Quontic Bank. I opened an account two years ago to safely store my 5-digit emergency fund. Everything was going fine until I actually needed that money due to the pandemic. Well it turns out they recently marked my account dormant due to lack of activity for a year. This appears nowhere in their terms and conditions.They claim to have sent a notice that I never received. (By postal mail, even though I signed up for e-delivery of all documents.) It took several calls to find out that they take $10 out for every month that the account is dormant. When I asked to have the account closed and to mail a check for the balance to the address on the account, they flat-out refused. I am being told I have to have a notarized letter in order to do _anything_ with the account at this point. I explained to the branch manager that due to the pandemic, my house is under quarantine and I cant go to a notary, but she was dismissive of my situation and unapologetic.TL;DR: Quontic has my entire emergency fund and wont give it back to me. Avoid at all costs!
Had the pleasure of dealing with Abdul from Quontic Bank and it was a fantastic experience. It was a great way personalizing the loan experience, and we were able to get a sense of each others styles. Steven was very straightforward, easy to get along with, and helpful—all of this is very important because you are in regular contact with your loan officer over a period of months. I was also extremely glad as a person with non-U.S. sourced income to be able to buy my dream apartment in NYC—without Quontics focus on niche borrowers like me, I quite simply would not have been able to purchase my new West Village home. Julissa came in on the tail end and was also very effective and pleasant to deal with. I had/we had an outstanding experience with senior loan officer Steven Ho of Quontic Bank. I had not worked with him nor the bank previously. He handled a transaction of which I was the listing agent on the property. The deal fell apart three months in. It was a disaster for my seller. This was a complicated deal. He was recommended through reputable sources. He assured me it would close. I trusted his knowledge and experience. We closed the deal. I will definitely refer him to anyone looking for a professional, knowledgable and honest loan officer. It was a great experience.

They have no idea how to deal with a simple IRA account. I want to take my money else where and the teller, who isnt trained in this service, tells me that on my GRACE period I will be charged fees, after she went to go speak to someone else, who allegedly is in a meeting. This branch needs to be retrained in customer service and product knowledge. Dont trust your money here if youre doing more than opening a checking or savings account.READ THE OTHER REVIEWS TOO FOR FURTHER EVIDENCE OF THEIR POOR SERVICE AND KNOWLEDGE.

When choosing a bank you should first try Quontic Bank because all the staff is very friendly and courteous, they make you feel like family, from the tellers and cashiers all the way up to the Mortgage Department. Awful website. You cannot close or renew CDs online. You have to email Astoria Branch with a bunch of instructions. After you send an email, no one gets back to you for days, so you have to call and find out why they are sitting on their hands not processing your request. And when you complain about their poor service and lack of online features, they give you such attitude that youd think that they are the customer and youre the service provider. Never doing business with them again.
This bank needs to retrain their staff on proper customer service especially towards first time home buyers. Our mortgage banker tended to loose it if he felt we were asking many questions but, what do you expect from first time home buyers (very unprofessional), he seemed very defensive instead of helpful. In addition, they were very slow and sometimes we were the ones doing all the work or having to rush to obtain documents that they forgot to ask about st the last minute. Wouldnt use this bank again.

Steven Ho was great with the initial intro. and the process. He doesnt response very quick most of the time, so it was a bit difficult to get some answers at first.But I can understand because of how busy he was and how many inquiries he received everyday. Just be patient with him and he will definitely get you the answers you need, show you are serious about the mortgage and not just fooling around will also expedite the process IMO. Hes a great help overall.Once you are ready to go, he will get Summer Xu to start with the application process and have YuJing Lin follow up with all the documents needed. This is where I feel their team is truly amazing!My real estate agent also commented to me at one point saying your bank is truly amazing and efficientCant go wrong with Steven and his team @ Quontic. I am going to work with them in the near future for another property for sure!

This was a horrific experience when buying my home. Not only was I sold on something that never happened as stated but not once did anyone apologize for what went wrong. After knowing the situation they put me thru, there was no sense of urgency on my loan. Every time I pointed out what they were doing wrong or the unfairness I was living, they only turned it around and made it seemed like it was my fault. We informed them in advance to work on my loan and prepare to close it as I was trying to do simultaneously selling/buying, but no one seemed to care. First the underwriter was sick, which seems to be a story heard before from another client, and then they waited to the last minute to work on my loan and asked for paperwork that was submitted in advance. To top it off,at closing, they were late and delayed everything by over an hour. They were not prepared and my lawyer angrily denied a request for document that once again were sent over within a reasonable timeframe. Overall I would not recommend this bank to anyone.
They are the top ranking in the most weird bank in mortgage. Joseph Allen was fine but his team (Angie,veryvery rude and has no manner)(Lisa,not skillful and forget the working documents)screwer. Asking infinite questions without trust. If they are too scare, they shouldnt work on this job.I didnt see any reviews with their name s from below.The processor has lack of communication with the borrower how to response in time. They would ask you the paper one by one 😂😂😂 to postpone the processing time in order to get high interest for the bank(very nasty).I faced asking the paper to add the additional information such as date, signature, address... one by one after they got the reply for each documents. They dont really have systematic requirements and solution for the whole process.One more thing, they like to blame their false to others. Take Note this important point.Additionally, they would ask you all the fee by you to someplace such as insurance and maintenance fee with bank statement. After that, they would follow to that company whether they received or not.Thats very disgusting. They didnt even have shame.Overall, they are lack of skill in processing and I faced screw up.
Worst experience trying to get a loan for a mortgage through Quontic Bank. Their internal team does not communicate with one another, you will have to do all of the follow-up and communication for them, and in my case, the closing for my house took nearly 4 months to clear due to the incompetence and lack of professionalism of this team. I almost lost the house and my sanity. Steer clear.
In all my dealings with banks throughout the US, Quontic Bank is by far the worst I have ever come across. Joseph Allen gave their sales pitch on the Lite Doc program and a “simple” 4-5 week closing. Joseph and his team ultimately stalled the deal for months and risked foreclosure of the property. They never ended up closing.Run for the hills.

Be prepared to withstand their stupid hidden rules set up.They also twist their own words. They didnt tell truth although it is a bank.Their words are universal truth. You cant argue with them. My husband and I are buying a house. We were going with a mortgage broker that my real estate agent referred. We went to our financial advisor on a different issue and he took a look at our mortgage loan. He didnt like the numbers and advised us to Frank Melia at Quontic Bank. Frank let us know how our mortgage broker was over charging us at every turn, going for the highest he could get from us. Me and my husband were upset and especially at the fact that our closing was around the corner and time was not on our side. Frank quoted us a fair and money saving amount that was saving us 10s of thousands of dollars over the life of the loan. Frank recommended that we go to our current broker to see if he could meet his price since time was tight. At first our broker wouldnt budge and we were ready to go with Frank (not to mention, really didnt want to give the business to a person who was trying to rip me and my family off, we have three young children to take care of). When our mortgage guy finally took us seriously, he caved and went low enough where with the time constraint, Frank said it would be best to take. So Frank saved me and my family a ton of money and on top of it, didnt even make anything off it from us. Just honest and caring person with integrity and the kind of person I would recommended to everyone. A person who really cares about the people that they work with. In this day and age that is a hard find. I will make sure anything I have in the future, Frank gets my business and anyone else I know will let them know of this amazing and eye opening experience.

I am truly disappointed, when I came to your institution for help on a reverse mortgage, I needed help with my mother who is a cancer patient in the Atlanta area, up in her years.( 78 ) What I wanted was for her to spend herremaining time on this planet without all of the problems most of us have to deal with daily. ( paying rent, paying mortgage, credit card bills and the likes) Your company seemed like the right direction to go. (your staff new this information) this house is valued at $425,000 of which you would only provide us (her) with $225,000 so was stated, but being only a block from Grant Park, ( Zoo Atlanta) am sure with the right investments and vision the potential for this property which is a 52.5x 160 lot of land in the metro Atlanta area ( 20 minute walk to the Capital and downtown) it would have been an ideal investment for your company. My plans as I stated earlier was for her to be comfortable, I would have gladly given your company control of the estate when the ultimate arrival of her time had come. Just to see her content and living in her own resident until that time. With that said, Thank you for telling us you would make things better, thank you for the $125.00 cost of the course to qualify for your reverse mortgage, (that we paid) thank you for the $250.00 cost for an inspector, (that we paid) who came out and told me, I dont buy homes but, I have a friend who do,,then reported to you all the things that where wrong with the house. The windows, the roof, asbestos, lead paint, the hall ceiling and lastly the floor.Thank you for not having the professional dignity to state these things earlier or faster than the three,,,,no four months your company took to end up telling me you would have to put a lien on the house. My only (f-) concern at this time, is that I have brighten your day as much as you have mine. The only reason I have given you one star, this system would not let me give you less. (Should any other investors reading this post be interested, please feel free to contact me via my Gmail or google account information) I would be happy to do business with like minded individuals.

For about a year and a half I have been looking into Home Equity Conversion Mortgages, but kept turning down that idea twice, from different companies. Instead I gave all my belongings away and renovated my place to either sell or rent out. I want to start this review by stating a simple fact: I would not be a homeowner right now without Vasiliki. When I first started the road to home ownership I was naive. I thought the process was a simple one. I envisioned it much like walking into a car dealership and rolling out with a new set of keys. Pick a broker, sign a form, and be on your way to taking out the garbage. What I would learn was that “go west young man for you come bearing great credit” clearly had never been uttered by a single person when it comes to real estate.I quickly realized that it is far closer to say “Sign here….and here….and here….initial here….hold on while we draw some blood.” It can, and most likely will become an overwhelming task. As I have now completed the entire home buying adventure, I can fully appreciate what a GREAT broker does for you.Vicky is a calm, patient, and caring human being. She does not see you as a name on an application. She can see the person who is embarking on a new stage of life. I would not even hesitate to say that through her words and actions that you can honestly feel like she is proud of you for making that leap forward and investing in your own future.As a combined total, I spent many hours on the phone with her. We discussed every aspect of the steps I would need to take to realize my dream. She explained everything in a way that only a person of her character can. She even explained them two or three times when I was having a hard time wrapping my head around the complexity of the rules and regulations.When my process went a little askew (and I want to stress this was of no doing of Vicky or her institution) she jumped right in to help. I had arranged for a Reverse Mortgage with a financial firm and was close to completing all that was necessary to enter into the final stages prior to a closing. I received a message regarding HECM, did a little inquiring and ended up contacting Quontic Bank. The loan officer and I talked about the process and when I told him what stage I was in with the financial firm, Kory Coleman told me that his bank could do a transfer at no charge. He also told me that the case number with FHA would not change. This was important because the rules changed on 10/02/2017 with FHA. The amount of money available amounted to about $24,000 less if I lost my case number. In addition he told me that any closing costs would be recovered by the bank over time as I used monies on my line of credit on the original payout at closing time. This was great as my house will appreciate enough each year to exceed any accrued annual interest cost. This arrangement gave me another $12,000 compared to the financial firm. In addition, I found out later that the interest rate to be used initially on the withdrawn funds was lower than the other institution. My wife did an inquiry with Forbes and Korys bank was rated as one of the top 5 banks in the U.S. We did the deal and I just this week received the funds allowed initially by wire transfer.Danielle was the loan processor and she guided me along the way with providing insurance proofs, property taxes that I advised her on due to errors by the appraiser used on the previous arrangement with the financial firm and the other necessities that the government requires.The monies that are now available for me and my wife will act as a security blanket for any emergencies and I will use some in the next several months for some minor repairs such as painting some rooms and the outside of the house. The HECM is a wonderful method to secure reserve funds without selling the house.Kory and Danielle made all of this possible and gave us the opportunity to obtain the best HECM cash deal on the market. Where else can you get a closing with all costs absorbed by the mortgage company as I explained earlier?If you are looking for an HECM, look no further. You will not be disappointed and ask for Kory.Kory was quite informative and very professional in describing the process and in answering my questions.

Had a house in contract for 8 months and was unable to CLOSE despite him sending numerous emails and texts to the buyers that the file would close.Every week was a another excuse finally after 8months the seller had to pull her listing in disgust. He obviously didnt prequal the buyers before subletting a letter that they were qualified to purchase.This Bank Quontic is the worse dont try to get a mortgage from this Bank Ever.

We used Quontic Bank to purchase our first mortgage after being recommended to them by close friends. I could not have been more disappointed with the results. In order to keep a long story short, Joseph Allen was never available and after quoting us a rate and promising us that it was locked, it turns out it was never done. We were not given any further explanation beyond that. Additionally, a last minute change to the appraisal which was never communicated to us until the night before our close forced us to come up with an additional 2.4% for the down payment to avoid PMI. Lastly, while Quantic was finalizing all of our paper work, it was determined that the tax filings had a reported income that was $0.02 different from what the government had. I was forced to track down my accountant to get a letter explaining the difference (which was not an easy exercise). Ive asked multiple banks about this since and theyve all said the bank should have a materiality threshold to avoid unnecessary work. Lastly, as part of our mortgage, Joseph Allen also communicated that we would get an original painting to commemorate the momentous occasion which we never received. I would advise everyone and anyone I know against this bank.
It was such a pleasure from start to finish with reverse loan. Eva Brooks loan officer returned and initiated communications quickly during and sometime after hours or day off! Other financial offers were not clear. However, Eva made certain there were no misunderstood or fast talk bait and switch. After all, a loan contract should flow smooth from start to finish. Eva Brooks made it not only good, Eva made sure it was so good!

I recently closed a deal with Connie Brazer and Ray Duran from Quontic Bank in South Florida. I must say I would use them time and time again. After going through two other lenders to try to get my Physician buyer a loan, Quontic Bank came in at the 11th hour and we were able to close within record time. I wish They were zero stars to give them, the worst bank ever, dealing with them is a nightmare, I am in a situation of selling and buying a house and after talking with my loan officer we decided to go with this bank because i was meeting the criteria to get a mortgage with them, it took them 2 months to review my application, the underwriting team there takes over 8 weeks to complete an application after commitment letter was issue which took so long the commitment letter was issue with some conditions, conditions were submitted and i am on the 7 week waiting for them to review the conditions now, this is beyond frustrating and in danger of loosing the down payment i put on the house that i am in contract with and also loose the buyer of my house since they dont want to wait much longer. Both contracts i have are over the time given on them and i am still waiting for this Bank to finalize my loan. They should be more considerate of their clients and understand that you can not put people in this limbo of not knowing for so long the process of buying and selling is very stressful and when you put down large amounts on down payments you need to know the bank should know that those contracts are issue with time frames and if their decision takes over the time on contracts you are in danger of loosing your money also the money you pay for appraisals, inspections, the bank should be staffed accordingly to accommodate applications and reviews in a timely manner
We would like to thank Quontic Bank and specifically, Ryan Jenkins, for the professional manner in which they handled our HECM transaction. From the beginning, when we knew very little about how this all would work, with our many questions, then the counseling session, application process, signing of paperwork, and finalization; the communication in terms of explanation of the process was exceptional by Ryan and his team. When we needed verification, Ryan was always just a phone call away. He never made us feel that we were bothering him, rather he answered our questions fully and put us at ease. The timeframe was right on schedule, and we felt that things flowed smoothly throughout.

He is a miracle worker and is turning my situation around.I personally had a series of very unlikely catastrophic situations that happened to me over the past 8 years. Aaron Feeney listen to my story for almost an hour on the phone. He was sympathetic and did not even interrupt me, as most would do. Then he took charge of the situation and told me exactly what I needed to do. With an impending Tax auction coming upon me and other catastrophic situations that had occurred, Aaron Feeney turned my life around. He is truly an Angel in disguise and I would like to do something nice for him when this is all completed.A few years ago I had a great salary in a NYC job that I had for 18 years. I also owned multiple houses with tenants. Then my aunts who lived 100 miles away were getting sick, had injuries and needed help. I had a sudden injury, had surgery and was out of work for 8 months. At the same time I had break ins with destruction in my houses, tenant problems and losses and at the end lost several houses. This last house, where I am living did not have a mortgage but needed multiple repairs and was due for a tax auction. Aaron Feeney helped me find all the documentation and talked to the state Marshall to get a delay. He really Saved my life! After many months of researching Reverse Mortgages and getting more and more confused with each person who wanted to sell us a Reverse Mortgage. We where finally referred to Mr. Dominick Wilkens who took the project as he said he would and worked closely with us to get us qualified for a Mortgage. There were many things that were needed by the underwriters that had been misplaced or lost. Dominick worked with us to get the missing documents needed. With every bump Dominick was quick to see the issue and help us over the hurtles. Dominick was always up beat and a real gentleman to work with and in the end he got the job done. We could not have had a better banker and when all is said and done a better experience.

We recently worked with Harris Schnall at Quontic Bank to obtain a reverse mortgage. After many months of procrastinating I attended a seminar hosted by Harris and heard from him and other speakers of the benefits and ramifications of obtaining a reverse mortgage. The benefits fit our situation nicely and the ramifications were minimal. I asked for and obtained answers to a lot of detailed questions as we worked through the process. Throughout the process Harris had the answers I was seeking or obtained them quickly. Dont use Joseph Allen for mortgage products. He changed my rate last minute even the commitment letter stated otherwise.

2022-04-27I put $10k into a savings account that I am fighting with them to give back. You cannot externally transfer from Savings. So I opened a checking account but can only move $500 a day and it takes days to enter your account (still waiting 2 days later for $500). My debit card has been locked. Every request takes days to get a response they said. I asked to close the accounts and give me my money back 2 days ago Im still waiting. meanwhile I need the money to make repairs on my home. Avoid this bank. They take your money but make it impossible to use it.

2021-01-18I had the pleasure of working with Joseph Allen from Quontic. I have great credit but am self employed, wanted to consolidate loans and own a 4-plex, so many lenders had previously rejected me. Frankly I did not expect this to go through either. Joesph asked all the right questions and asked for all needed documents and made it happen.This has made a huge difference in my life- much more than I had expected. Saving $1,000/mo. has let me feel that I am in a whole different income category and is allowing me to use that money towards more ambitious goals. Joseph kept having faith that it would work and accomplished a task that others didnt want to deal with. It was by far the best thing that happened to me all year.

2021-07-18Steven and his team are absolutely the best, they are both professional and super efficient! Steven and I chatted about the mortgage needs on June 22 after another lender failed to meet expectations and causing delays in my anticipated closing time (seller grew obviously very anxious too). He offered a solution that was superior to what I had before, and he said he would deliver within the timeframe I asked for. He and his colleagues throughout the bank worked very well under extreme time constraints, from inception to closing only took 18 business days!!! I bet that’s a new industry record. Now I’m a happy owner of my new home, I would definitely choose Steven and Quontic Bank again in my next purchase.

2021-09-23My experience with Quontic bank has been they are very incompetent. I opened a savings account online. They took my money to fund my account very quickly, but after that, its been one mistake after another as well as being given misinformation when attempting to call them. First, I had to wait two months to get a debit card, which I was supposed to receive in about two to three weeks. I never received a pin number. One person told me that I actually didnt need one and that all I needed to do was go to any ATM and put in a PIN number -- that is a direct quote. The next time I called, they told me it was mailed back in March, but I never received it, so they mailed it again in July and still it never showed up. They had the correct address. So finally I asked how to close my account, they told me to transfer the money out (which I did and thankfully that worked) but then to email with certain information and let them know I was closing the account. I did that, got an email letting me know that it was closed and yet to this day, months after, they are still sending me paper statements (I had put down to have them digitally). I dont live in NY so I cant go in there and talk to a person face to face, but it shouldnt be this hard with a bank. Please TRAIN YOUR PEOPLE.
