Best place in the neighborhood for watching sporting events and rowdy nights. I came here for the Eurocup game between England and Italy, it was an amazing time. Long, solid wood tables that are perfect for getting a large group together. The entire hall was filled with people cheering and hollering, so expect a lively atmosphere. Other notes? Service was good, but they can get overwhelmed on big events: get there early and be prepared to save a spot and get your beer/food early. You might not be able to flag a waiter after.Food wise? Delicious! We’re shared the giant Bavarian pretzel, fries, and more. My friend ordered the currywurst and died/went to heaven upon first bite. The french fries were also made to perfection.Bottom line? Add this place to your Williamsburg Bar Hop NOW
I had a flight the next day. I came the day before. They didnt have the green. I settled for the red.....boooo! it was good going down. Unique. Great melding of ingredients. Not so good in the stomach. I was running in and out of the bathroom for the next 2 days. Inferno! Still enjoyed it though.
Cool vibe at this place, but the casulet was pretty gross. The beans tasted like the rancid greases of a cast iron that hasnt been cleaned in a year. Literally bursting with that flavor. The brats were ok, and the duck confit was good and generous portion. Nothing special tho for 40 bucks. Should come with a little more bread. They were out of their main beer, so i got one that tasted a little like floral soap
AMAZING STAFF!I recently had my wedding here, and the staff made it such an unforgettable experience. Sean was very accommodating in the months leading up to the wedding, making sure he got things how we wanted, serving us delicious pretzels while we asked him the same questions for the 100th time. He was always willing to accommodate our whimsies and delivered on our special requests on the big day. The day of, he was right there making sure everything was going smoothly and that my wife and I always had a drink in our hand at all times. The service staff was also incredible, fun, and accommodating, making sure to bring us hors devours while we were outside taking photos during the cocktail hour, always checking in on us, showing off some flair behind the bar, and dancing right along with the wedding guests as they made their way through the crowd. If anything went wrong on that day, I didnt know about it.Lastly, this is one of the most affordable venues to have a wedding (especially if you rent out the Bier Haus). No up charge at the mention of the W word, straight forward pricing, food and beverage packages that could accommodate a handful of vegans (even though their sausages are so tasty theyre likely to catch some vegans in a moment of weakness), and an incredibly friendly and dedicated staff worth their weight in gold. Everything is totally worth it.
Really fun place with cool-vibe. Huge selection of beers and other drinks, nice food menu with desert options, also there is a grill corner where you can get amazing sausages or burger with few kinds of different mustard. Crispy fries and really good sauerkraut. Our server Nour was super friendly and cool, place was busy and very fun, even though it does get pretty loud in there.Great place to visit f you’re in the neighbourhood.
This place has become our new favorite beer garden! Our server (Jonah) was fabulous! He treated a group of 7 of us so great! We got the pretzel and it was delicious. We arrived at around 1:00 on a Sunday and it wasn’t packed so we were seated right away. By 2:30 it was packed and people had to stand in some areas so maybe arrive a little earlier than that if you want to sit. But definitely a great experience and I know I’ll be back
Radegast might be my favorite European beer garden. The atmosphere is great with seating both inside as well as an open airy side room and there is live music on Fridays and on weekends. The servers are usually busy as the place can get pretty crowded since it’s a popular neighborhood dig and frequented by many tourists, but you can seat yourself. There is great variety of European beers and the variety of smoke fired sausage from the outside grill inclusive of brat, currywurst, and kilbasa. There are some good menu options, I love the schnitzel! From time to time they have some game meat such as rabbit, venison and buffalo. I would highly recommend this place especially for a group outing with friends or even coworkers.
Authentic German Biergarten with an outstanding beer selection. You can order beers in one liter steins. Radegast features long family style tables which add to the atmosphere. They also have a grill which prepares a variety of German sausages. Great option for larger groups or watching soccer games (the atmosphere is perfect for soccer).
Another neighborhood mainstay. Hope they don’t lose out to yet another condo development. Great sausages, great pretzels, great beer, great atmosphere. Reminds me of places I used to hang out at in Prague. Not cheap but worth it - you can get a beer anywhere but there aren’t too many places you can enjoy one in this kind of space.
I love this place! It’s got a Brooklyn Warehouse meets German beerhall vibe. It’s great for groups because you can fit lots of people at the long communal tables. They often have live music (I miss the rocking tuba guy) Also don’t even get me started on those pretzels and all those mustards mmm mmm mmMmm!
Great space and great food. I’ve come here on two different seasons and had great food each time. Pretzel is a classic, but save room for the actual food because the current head chef is doing amazing work. He made cauliflower taste delicious. We recently had the cassoulet, sauerbraten, and flammekueche. The food was damn good delicious. We took the cassoulet home and ate it next day and it still tasted good. Kudos to the chef!
The grilled sausages can be made better if they are not so charred. Good thing is there are plentiful of beer to go around and a live band to cover up the charred sausages. They still taste good but it could be better... There are so many beers to select that you can spend forever just looking at the menu. It’s a huge place with long communal tables which makes a great place to hang out with friends. The whole place reminds me of the HB keg house at Munich.
Loved their great selection of beers and the great vibe. I am a huge fan of German pretzels but I was let down by the one I tasted here. It was salty and undercooked. It may just have been because I ordered late at night. Their cheese with the pretzel was an additional 3 dollars and it was disgusting. I have visited Germany many times and other than the size I would not call this a German pretzel. Anyways other than the pretzel thing , I loved the vibes and the huge beer menu. I will go back for beer!
I love this place, Ive yet to go to a beerhall in Germany but I imagine that this place isnt far off. They got liter beers that are made on the premises, a grill where you can buy bratwurst and currywurst and just a great atmosphere. They also have live music on the weekends, you cant ask for more.
Spacious beer hall, lots of indoor and outdoor seating, great for groups. We found a table for 10 outside on a Saturday with no wait.In general nice place for drinks and light snacks.Indoors was pretty stuffy, seemed to not have AC or much fan action.Good variety of beer selections. The way they do food is a bit odd, if you order from the “grill” menu there is no table service, you have to get up and go to the grill counter to place the order yourself. Takes quite a bit of time because lots of people get food and there was only one person working the grill. You place the order then stand around and wait for the burger or whatever to be made.Food was fine but not great, and costs between $16-$20 for a sandwich or burger, in my opinion not worth the price tag and the service style. If you’re just going for drinks then good option.
Manager Peter is pretty rude person. I asked him for help in locating a lost item (normally would be fine, and I wouldnt bother) but this was actually valuable and expensive musical instrument. He responded angrily to me saying that I am accusing his employees, which is not at all something that I even considered. I understand and can take no for an answer as well, but was it really necessary insulting me by calling me immature and a waste of his time and hanging up on me? All the while I was nothing but polite with him... I have been visiting Radegast for over a decade and last time brought a party of 20 there for my birthday and spending hudreds of dollars there. I dont feel like thats the right way to treat someone. I think Pete really must have had a bad day but still thats really an embarassing and unprofessional way to treat a patron.
Had a great time at Radegast. Came here for lunch and a beer with family. When we got here the place was empty so we had our pick of seating. The waiter was very nice and considerate. He turned the music down when he noticed we had a newborn with us. (Even though we did not ask!)Our group tried the Avocado toast and the Curry Bratwurst with sweet potato fries and a prrtzel. I would highly recommend all of the items.Would def recommend stopping in with friends. There is plenty of large tables for big groups.
Absolutely love this place, been multiple times and can’t wait to be back!Update: celebrated my birthday here for St Patrick’s and absolutely amazed and thankful for fantastic service and everyone being so kind and caring for our group! Thank you so much for making us so welcome :) we love you!
Got a bratwurst from the grill, absolutely delicious. The bartender also recommended a beer since I wasnt familiar with any of them, and he was spot on, wish I remembered the name. Light and Crispy, perfect after a day of traveling. Will definitely try coming back next time Im in town!
Such a nice atmosphere and service. The food is fast and yummy. They offer several different type of mustard. The pull pork and sausage are very good.Prices are kind of affordable and comes with great service from the bartenders. The design of the place is enjoyable and very hipsters. Definitively a nice gem in Williamburg, Brooklyn.
Ok, so I know its more about the drinks than the food, but the people are pretty rude. I sat for a long time without being served, or greeted. I finally went to the bar and asked the bartender if they had table service. He was pretty rude. I waited a good bit longer, and finally asked to see the manager. He was super nice and took my food order. The food was decent, though expensive. I am sure its a great place to hang with friends and have a beer. Its not a great place to grab a meal. Good beer selection, which is to be expected since it is a Biergarten after all.
This place is just plain awesome. They have one of my favorite beers on tap that is pretty hard to find: Radeberger Zwickl. There is an excellent selection of other beers as well, and the sausage plates just complete the experience. The place can get pretty packed on weekends, but stand around for a bit and you can probably snag a table. I cannot recommend this place enough.
The experience today was lunch for two at approx. 2PM. 91°F. Long line to be seated outside, but it moved quickly. Staff is taking masking seriously still, but there were no proofs required for vaccination, nor temperature checks. When my party was seated at bar seating,a table for two propped against the bar, I asked a bartender from whom we would order(i.e. servers or bar). The bartender did not take our order, instructed me to wait for a server, and said twice, my name isnt *bartender,* by the way. The bartender had no identifying information visible. I let the rudeness go. Aside from behind the bar and security, the place was sparsely staffed. We ordered from the server. Our table was brought room-temp water in a dirty-looking pitcher. Food came swiftly, despite the crowd. I understand that, given the establishment, upscale decor might be asking a lot, but I would expect more than what is the status quo for $24/Liter drinks. Food was good, but the drinks are too pricey given the current ambiance and the simple fact that I can walk across the street and get beer and sandwiches in an air conditioned space, with iced or even cold water, for less than half the price. Ill probably go again this summer to see if I can attain a better experience than mediocre.
Great atmosphere, food, drinks, music, and service. I always have Cheyenne as our server and shes amazing. If I could rate more than 5 stars I would. This place is great for both small parties and large ones, and everyone always has a good time. If you can come here, definitely do so.

2022-03-30Went here with friends for brunch! Was able to easily modify a salad and the avocado toast to be vegan - it would be great if Radegast could put this on the menu as an option, would set it apart from other beer halls. The atmosphere was nice, it was pretty quiet when we arrived but started to get busier around 2pm. The beers were really good!

2022-06-08I did not realize that there were excellent Biergartens in NYC. Radegast is definitely up there in terms of service, atmosphere, and food.We were able to get a giant eight Cedar table outside of the restaurant, and there was a QR code on the tables that let you individually open tabs in order food. Note that if you want any of the grill options, you have to physically walk inside to the grill and order separately from there. The grill has a lot of good options ranging from different types of sausages to sides like French fries. They are freshly made delicious. You can buy an aïoli to go beautifully with the grilled items, or you can grab any one of the free condiments on the side of the grill. I would also highly recommend getting their french fries. These might be some of the best french fries you will find in New York City!We also got their pretzel with beer cheese, mustard, and a pickle. My only critique would be that the beer cheese is lacking. It needs something more because in its current form, it is pretty flavorless and too watery. The pitchers of beers for $20 is an excellent price! The pitchers are easily at least 60 ounces! It filled up over 3 glasses. Their wheat beer is excellent and pairs really well with the foods they serve.

2021-09-07I had a good time here. On their brunch menu,I had a pretzel and lager beer. I enjoyed the pretzel, which came out hot with some sauces. The beer (lager and dark), of course was on point.I tried their kielbasa ( a type of sausage) on their grill menu ( you had to get up, order and pay separately, which I thought was inconvenient). But I enjoyed the smokiness and how juicy it was. It came with crispy fries and horseradish. The horseradish didn’t have the kick I was expecting, quick mild.We later came back to try the bone marrow, first time, and it was sublime. To be honest, I was unsure of the texture, but to my surprise it was smooth and creamy with a lot of juices. Great to spread on toast and top off with their relish. We sat outside and enjoyed our meals. The service was polite, friendly, efficient (because it can be very busy at dinner time) and they wore masks. The price was worth the experience and quality.Would come back!

2022-06-10I stopped by here with two friends after dinner to keep the party going with a few beers! The environment inside is really unique and definitely goes all out with the whole Bavaria beer hall decor. One of my friends was not too enthusiastic about the inevitable beer hall ~fragrance~ inside, so we sat at one of the many outdoor picnic tables in the street, which were also a great option. Outdoor tables are covered and big enough for multiple parties.Of course there is a great selection of beer, and there are also sausages on offer. You order at your table through a QR code, which brings up an app to order. It’s all very quick and easy. I would definitely come back here again for a casual drink, and maybe to try some of the food. Love an environment that is fun and down to earth rather than the trendy/exclusive/upscale bars elsewhere in New York.

2021-07-23I’m in love with this place! I don’t live near by but I’ll definitely come back often especially now during the summer. The beers are amazing and the food (veal schnitzel meal is my favorite) is delicious! The environment is very cool and love the playlist playing there. The service is also 5 stars for me.

2021-09-03This place is pretty great! The beer is a great price and is delicious, the atmosphere is even better!! My one complaint was the price of the food, it’s nothing too special but is pretty pricey. I wound up only getting a pretzel and a beer, total was $26 which is a lot for one beer and an appetizer.

2022-04-11We came to celebrate my sons birthday, there was live music. The bad was a lot of fun, good sound and the lead singer had an awesome voice. We had lite food as we had eaten already. There were a number of other celebrations going on. Great hang out place, they even have outdoor seating. Its definitely worth the trip.
