Avoid at all costs. I was put in a room with upper blind not working - it was quite bright at night. They could not fix it, no other room to offer and refused a refund or any other compensation. Towels were dirty. Bathroom neglected. The photos demonstrate it clearly. Lady at front desk was rude. Awful experience.
Positive: Location and Staff were amazing. In December it was great to walk out and see Rock Center and the tree Negative: The hotel could use a refresh and a paint job. Also would have loved mini fridges in the room. There was also an emergency system test the next morning - dont know why it couldnt have been done after check out and in between check in time.
My wife and I stayed here in January. The location is great and the room was actually pretty nice. We did not interact with the staff much but from the little interaction we had they seemed nice. Only downfall was that a water pipe broke at some point so we had no water for a bit. Our room was also next to the roof of an adjoining building and halfway through our stay a HVAC unit kicked on and did not turn off for the remainder of our stay so we had to listen to a LOUD fan right outside our window for the last night/day.
The location is fantastic. the rooms are clean and the showers have great water pressure. Everything was fine until our laundry was thrown out. When we complained at the front desk they asked if the laundry was next to the trash can, which should be irrelavent as they told us their policy is that nothing outside of the garbage can should be thrown out. The front desk man insinuated that it was our fault, but said that he would bring the issue to higher management and they should get back to us after investigation. We have still not received a call. Do NOT come here, as the staff might mistake your clothing for garbage (even thought it wasnt iin the garbage) and refuse to take responsibility.
The location was the only thing keeping the quality at a one star. The front desk staff was not nice at all, only met one guy who was actually amiable and wanted to help. The rooms are fairly clean, but extremely small. We put a do not disturb sign up and our room was still cleaned while we were gone. They advertised their open rooftop view as the primary photo on booking websites, in the lobby, and elsewhere, yet the manager is selling the lot and it was not accessible to guests. The elevator could take up to eight minutes and was very unsteady. I was most disappointed with the staff, I just did not feel very welcome at any point during my stay.
Positive: The location was perfect for roaming Manhattan. Everything from the Flatiron area to Central Park wasn¿t too far of a walk. The staff were all wonderful, and got us moved to another room immediately upon learning of a leaky shower in the room above our Negative: The rooms were a bit dated/worn, but still very clean. They¿re in the midst of renovating, but it¿s a mild inconvenience at worst.
I checked in at midnight, and the smoke alarm was constantly beeping. I tried calling the reception and phone was dead.I walked down to ask for a replacement but the guy was unapologetic and said he has one last room left, take it or find a different hotel.I gave 3 stars only because I slept well and bed was comfortable
Stayed for one night on 23rd May 2022.They charged me $481 on arrival. 381 for the night with taxes and $ 100 as a hold. The next morning they charged me $ 381 again. The single person manning the reception kept insisting it was not charged. I managed to get him to show me his systems and both the charges were showing.I spoke to their customer care on the 24th May, 2022 at 8 a.m and she was being evasive.Today is the 3rd day of the charge and they are not bothering to respond to my emails.Do not trust them with your credit cards.
Positive: The hotel was old and the room was dirty and had lots of scratches on the furniture, the walls, and the shower. This hotel seemed to just be survive off the location. Other than that I wouldn¿t stay there again. Negative: Staff was short, room was dirty, shower head hairs on the wall and shower, bed sheets had holes, pillows sucked, scratches everywhere in the room, terrace was closed.
I am not sure how to evaluate it. On one hand the position is simply perfect and the rooms not bad though small because the internal.ones from 10th floor up still have an outside view. But price is not cheap considering the hotel was being renovated and the restaurant closed.
I had a stop over booked with you for the 1st June , your confirmation number #XRNW8VR, booked for 1 night on the 1st June 2022. This booking was cancelled several days before UK departure however you still took payment of $263.12 from my account , WHY.I have tried to call your hotel several times now on different numbers but constantly l receive very poor service. One woman asked me several times on how do I spell my surname Cole ?????? surely its not rocket science to spell it? Then was put on hold, then the line goes dead. The latest is, we are busy at the reception , I will phone you back in 20 minutes of course that did not happen. All I want is my money back please .Very disgruntled customer.
Positive: Absolutely perfect location for the events and places we wanted to see. Negative: No hot water in room. Had to check out if room next day and check into another room after 12pm. Third day asked twice to clean room. Never cleaned. Never told about garage discount sticker. Told by garage people Said 20% discount on room. Still not
Positive: The location, and thats basically about it. This hotel was an absolute dump! Everything was broken in our room. Negative: Basically everything besides the location. The room itself was falling apart. The heater, phone, power outlets and some lights didnt work at all. When I asked for a heavier sheet for our bed they said we dont have any. The staff was rude as well.
This was by far the worst hotel Ive ever stayed in. The only thing keeping this hotel alive is its location. I was in room 1406 and did not have HOT water the entire 4 days I was there 12/16-12/19. When addressed at the front desk I was given a less than helpful response of theyre working on it and that I could speak to the manager in the morning. With the high transmission rate of covid-19 it is completely unacceptable that they are putting guests in rooms without hot water, as we cannot even properly wash our hands of the germs/bacteria, let alone enjoy the comfort of a shower... The cherry on top is refusal to get a receipt upon my check out, as this was a business trip. I was told to write my email down on a piece of paper (with lots of other jargon) and they would email it to me. Its been 2 days since Ive been home and still havent received a receipt. When I call the front desk, it rings without answer and than hangs up. I called 17 times yesterday and another 12 today, with no luck.Pay the extra money and go to a real hotel. This place is nothing short of a dump.FYI - the rooms that did have hot water, the water was brown and fowl smelling (learned this upon checkout with my fellow hotel guests)
Awesome location to time square, cathedral and pretty much opposite of Rockefeller center. A lady(probably Caribbean)who works at the front desk usually morning shift was nice and helpful. We were allowed to leave our bags at the hotel before our check in time. Both guys whom takes the bags was nice and one was able to recommend us a nice place for breakfast. The room was clean. When I was searching, this location was the best deal for the area at the time. I would recommend this lovely place close enough but a hidden gem and great price.
Positive: Location was perfect. Everything else was average or below average. Negative: Called the front desk and asked if I could have some extra pillows and towels - I was told they ran out?? Water pressure was terrible. This is absolutely not a 4 star hotel. Once saw a staff member sleeping at the front desk.
Positive: The hotel is located in a perfect area near the Rockefeller Center and Arcadio city music hall. It was also nice and clean. Negative: There was absolutely NO hot water. We checked in around 3:30pm and waited about 30-40 mins to check in. When we get to the room, we wanted to shower but couldn¿t because the water was too cold. Same thing in the morning. No shower during our trip.
Positive: Location is amazing! Right near the Rockefeller Center and all the shopping, restaurants, tourist sites, subway. Negative: The hot water heater was not working, so no hot water but the staff discounted our stay accordingly. We were just there one night, so we managed. Would definitely stay here again.
Positive: The location was great. Our room didnt feel dated as some reviews had indicated. We had a top floor corner room with a nice view too. Negative: Stayed on the top floor. Noise from above all night. The source was not from other guests, it was thumping, mechanical, and very disruptive. The heater also made clicking noises all night. We heard another guest complaining of the same problem on checkout
Positive: LOCATION! Negative: I would have liked a warning upon arrival that it might be difficult or impossible to get my car on the hotels street at checkout time. I also didnt like that the exhaust fan in the bathroom was not working. Also, the thermostat was temperamental.
DO NOT STAY HERE! The only redeeming quality was the location. The front desk staff are rude and the service is terrible. We waited for hours to be checked in and were talked at for waiting in the lobby when we had nowhere else to go and the upstairs lobby was overflowing with people. We also ordered room service that never showed up. I received several notifications that it was on its way to us and after an hour I called them and the guy told me it would be at our door in 10 minutes. After another hour we called again and they were closed for the night so he just blatantly lied to me and our food never came and was probably never even made. I have never been treated so poorly by a hotel in my life. They are understaffed and the facility is small and underwhelming and just not worth the money. Stay anywhere else.
Positive: Location Negative: The rooms are good enough for one person. Very small. Bathroom is very small and the shower needs grout work. The check-in experience was the worst we have experienced in New York. Would not stay again. The Jewel Hotel was was much better and next door.
I booked this hotel in November 2021 for December 26. I came in early December to speak to someone about early check in. The person working said come back early on your date and try to.On December 26, I got there really early and tried to check in. Sadly, the only rooms available for pre check in were cold water rooms. But the person working at the front desk, Tony, assured me that later he would do his best to get me a hot water room. I checked in later that afternoon at 5pm, and sure enough Tony kept his word. Not only did he provide us with one of the last hot water rooms available, but also he upgraded us to a suite. He was an amazing help and it was a great extra birthday surprise for my girlfriend. As for the suite, very comfortable for two people. Bathroom is separate and spacious (was really nice.) The only thing that doesn’t make this a 5/5 is the fact that I think the old carpets and furniture, although very clean, need to be upgraded because both myself and my girlfriend we’re having a bit of an allergic reaction. (I also heard others complain about this in the lounge). The location is unbeatable if you want to explore Times Square, Rockefeller center, and 5th ave. Subways are everywhere and the Christmas tree was right outside the front door.I definitely plan on coming back much thanks to Tony. Thank you.
Positive: The location was ideal. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom looked like it may have been renovated recently and I had a balcony on the 22nd floor. The balcony was an unexpected perk. Negative: The hotel was older and it had that old smell but it exceeded my expectations and I would stay there again.
Positive: Location was very good. Rooms were small but ok. Negative: Staff were rude during check-in & check-out. We asked for bath towels 3 times but did not get any. Had to call reception multiple times before they would pick up. No early check-in. Many people were waiting in the small lobby area for checking in.
So let me start off with saying that the hotel was unable to accommodate a early check in request for me and my family. Then our room did not have any hot water so my wife went down stairs to speak with the front desk. At first they told her there were no other rooms available then when my wife didn’t take no as answer they eventually said ok and gave us another room. So I really didn’t appreciate the dishonesty. Then the second room they gave us was smaller then our original room which the bigger room was what I originally paid for. All in all, wasn’t my best hotel experience. I’ll just say I pretty much paid for the location.
What can I say? My girlfriend and I were looking for hotels on priceline and came across a deal of sorts. Priceline choose radisson for us among two other hotels (radisson being the least appealing).First glance at photos online and we thought meh. Rooms looked small and overall looked average at best. However, upon arrival we were immediately upgraded and to our surprise, the room was spacious and inviting! All the utilities worked to perfection- including the microwave, fridge, lights, hot water (and I take 30 minute showers), and even came with utensils. My girlfriend and I stayed 5 nights and were pleasantly surprised at the comfort the hotel accommodated us with. And of course the location is second to none! My girlfriend has bad knees, so being able to be in the epicenter of NYC was the best. Didnt even take the metro once and we were in the thick of it. The stay was from 12/28-01/02 and it felt as if it was home away from home.Customer service was on point. Nothing to complain about. They even let us leave our heavy bag full of food on our last day at the hotel, so we could take one last afternoon embracing the beautiful sights of new york city in peace. Muchos gracias to the cleaners. Nothing like coming back from walking around and diving into a new fresh set of sheets only to fart it up in it again (sorry Rose hehe). All in all, we had such a great time and not having to worry about our hotel and its services only made the trip that much better. Thanks Radisson! Will definitely have to visit again soon
Positive: The location and staff was friendly. Negative: The room was overly perfumed. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. Apparently, they only have rooms with one queen size bed. No extra pillows. The A/C unit was loud and cranky and pretty sure thats where the perfumey smell came from. Slow elevators.
I was not able to make it to my scheduled check in. I notified them two days before my check in if I could change my dates. I have sent multiple emails and called with zero response. I reached out to booking.com but they are not helpful either. I am not even asking for refund. I am asking to move my dates. Red flag. Customer service non existent.
This place is worn out, but for the price and location that is fine.My room was extra clean which is the most important. My toilet was running and it was never fixed when reported… I shut the door to my bathroom which helped with the noise. The fitness center was sufficient - but many weights were missing, cables are broken and the water station is probably from 1995 (and doesn’t work). The staff was excellent though! Very helpful and kind. If you want to be almost an eyeshot from Times Square on a budget - this is the spot.
My stay was very comfortable. As it was only me I got a small room that had everything I needed, bed, desk, television, bathroom. The bed was so comfortable I couldnt stay awake to finish my show lol. I will stay there again, but this time I will upgrade to a bigger room. I was very happy with my choice.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!! First off, we stayed here before we ran the marathon, and the outlets stopped working by morning, our phones died, and if it wasn’t for our parents staying next door, and knocking on the door we would have missed our marathon.2) the vents are full of mold. No cleaning in forever3) the beds have a thin blanket and when asked if we could get an extra blanket they couldn’t provide us with more sheets4) the toilet will consistently run, which isn’t a big deal if the room was more than 21x 10 feet, which is why we could hear the toilet all night.5) the lights will not stay on. Even when you are in the shower, sitting on the bed, after 18 secs it turns off, and you have to consistently stand to turn it back on.6) the shower curtain is fabric, so it soaks through, it isn’t even plastic to keep water out.7) the bathroom doesn’t have a door, just a sliding door that actually when closed, still has 3 inches exposed to the room, so the entire room can smell when your using the bathroom.8 ) lastly, the heater will occasionally blow out ac, it’s truly a hit or miss situation..: but more of a miss9) the only saving grace is location and we lucked out with the 25th floor, so the view and lack of noise from the street was nice
Solid location at an affordable price. Very close to the Rockefeller center and conveniently located in Midtown. Room was avg size with a comfy bed. Hotel has 26 floors. I forgot my toothbrush and when I called downstairs to ask if they had any, it was delivered quickly. Not a bad choice when you’re in the city.
I felt that for the price, this was truly a good bargain. It is not the most beautiful hotel, but it is safe, clean, extremely well-located, quiet and features a really friendly staff. It is fairly functional, but this is probably what contributes to the relatively low price without compromising on security, cleanliness, or peace and quiet.
This is a very busy hotel in a great location. We liked the room and staff as it showed that they tried hard at their jobs, but their attention to detail was lacking. We asked for a set of toiletries and pillows for both my wife and I before check-in and they were not available until 3/4th through our stay. Not only that, but we had to keep reminding the front desk regarding this request. I assume this was the result of inadequate staffing. The cleanliness of the room and friendliness of the staff was good. I overall would recommend this hotel, although there is certainly room for improvement.
My room was given away even though I had a confirmed reservation weeks in advance. Forced to take smaller, run down, cramped room. Noone there to resolve the situation and I was charged for the same price for their screw-up. I wouldnt recommend this hotel...ever! Ive been in touch with no less than 5 people and still no resolve! Gave 1 star because I couldnt pick No stars.
If I could give zero stars, I would. Terrible hotel, awful staff, and an overall laughable luxury hotel. We will never stay at another Radisson owned hotel again.Upon check in, we were given an ALREADY OCCUPIED room. The front desk staff didnt apologize or seem to care. They proceeded to search through bookings looking for available rooms, which they seemed to be completely uninformed about. After 3 attempts we were finally given an unoccupied room. It was tiny, cramped, not very clean, and had almost no bedding (2 sad pillows, a top sheet in place of a fitted, and one thin duvet). When we asked for an extra pillow, we were told Ill see what I can do. Unsurprisingly, no other pillow was every recieved. The staff was incompetent and rude, the hotel was overly expensive for how bare bones it was, and it was overall one of my worst hotel experiences to date. Save yourself the trouble and stay basically anywhere else in Manhattan.
My daughter and I stayed here for four nights- this was our first time to NYC. We were in the city primarily to see HadesTown, but did so much more! We really weren’t in the hotel very much except to sleep. Our accommodations were very satisfactory! The room was clean and air conditioning worked like a dream! You couldn’t ask for a better location to stay- walking distance to pretty much everything in midtown and close proximity to subway stations and buses. There is even a Walgreens next door! If you’re not from a big city you might not realize that hotel rooms aren’t necessarily going to huge open spaces like in less populated areas. Many hotels I researched prior to coming don’t even have private bathrooms for each room- you share a bathroom with others on your floor! I felt our room size was more than adequate and every room has its own bathroom- thank goodness! For the location, privilege of having your own bathroom, and price- you’d be pressed to find better! We had a few activities planned after check out time, and wondered what we would do with our luggage. When I inquired at the front desk if they store bags, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly- they do have a free bag storage area. Staff also asked if we needed a cab arranged. I would gladly stay here again!
Every once in a while I dont go to a Marriott or Hilton ... and this happens. I wont say it was a bad experience, I just know it could be better. The room was small... but tolerable. Water pressure was good and stayed hot too. The one thing that gave this 3 stars and may be a big no-no for many... the paper thin walls. My neighbor got up before 5 am. Went into the bathroom and shaved, washed, flushed, showered and washed some more. The acoustics are so good, I could tell when he was doing each one of those things. Cmon Radisson- you can do better :/
The 5 stars goes to Debra with the front desk. We flew in from out of state only to find out our paid reservation was not reserved. (We used a 3rd party company called SNAP TRAVEL) She advised this company has done this to many travels. She was extremely patient & allowed us to sit in the lobby for almost 2 hours while we tried to fix it. Once we were unable to correct the problem. She was able to provide us with a room @ a great price. We were so angry, tired & hungry & she saved the day! The room was very spacious and clean.
Hotel was excellent, good customer service and quick. We were in the 19th floor and from there we can see the Cathedral, Rockefeller center, etc. The room was spacious and super clean, bed was kind of comfortable. The only complain we have is that it wasnt a microwave in the room or a safe or a little fridge. But other than that we feel comfortable, secure and welcome. We will stay again without no hesitations. 😊
Positive: Location thats it. Negative: Staff was rude and short, except for the one night shift staffer. But that staffer was supposed Comp my room because the hot water was out, not just our room but in the building. Now that Im looking at my statement I was charged over $100 more.
Positive: 2 star hotel on their best days..Definitely NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL!! NOT EVEN CLOSE TO 3 Probably the oldest in NYC. Dont get fooled by the photoshopped photos they posted. Nothing looks like the pics. Worst 5 days on my 4 weeks vacation. Negative: No parking. Offsite 65 dollars a night (no in or out). Their rooms are the size of my closet. Beds are not queen size as advertised. Staff are so rude. I spent over $--- for 2 rooms and I regret it so much. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE I MADE AND BOOK HE
I think the hotel is a real gem for those who are on a budget, but want to get it all )) Location is great and I was lucky to get the room on the 26th floor with the view on St. Patrick cathedral! The weather was nice, so I was able to keep the window open (!!!!!! OPEN!!! :)))) and didnt even use the air conditioner. Can u imagine a hotel in the heart of Manhattan where u can have a window open!!! If Im not wrong this used to be one of the Club Quarters hotel which was awful - outdated, smelly rooms with malfunctioning bathroom and broken furniture and holes in the carpet from cigarettes. Radisson bought it and did a really good job with refurbishing the hotel. Now the bathrooms are new )))Things that you have to live with: no water in the room even for a fee; the room was a bit smelly at first, but then ok; there are some dabs of paint on the floor and the carpet doesn’t look that clean. The room is small and good for one person. There is one person at the check-in, so probably if you come during the day you might have to wait in the line. Air conditioner is loud when u use it, its controller on the wall didn’t work, so I had to use the controller on the air conditioner itself. Overall, great hotel for budget travelers.
Would rate it zero stars if I could. The room has a very dusty and vacuum cleaner smell most likely from the disgusting carpet. Amenities are lacking, like only one towel for shower. Worst of all there appears to be food in the AC and it isnt cleaned. Lack of soundproofing as you can hear other other guests talking, loud door open/closing. The wifi could not be reached to this room as well. Would avoid this hotel and definitely not worth the price even at this prime location. Spend the extra at some of the other hotels. Will not be coming here again.
The nicest people work the front desk. They solve all problems. Rooms small, need carpet and painting. Bathroom is bright, quite big with huge walk-in shower. The bed is super comfy. The lighting is crazy: motion sensor by the door gives you overall room and kitchen area light for about a minute, unless you move in front of the switch. Found myself in the dark a lot. The only problem we encountered daily, for nearly the entire 2 weeks we stayed was housekeeping: rarely have I encountered such forgetfulness, even ineptitude. Every day something was not there: towels, pillows, blanket, toilet paper, cups, coffee pods, shampoo etc. Luckily the front desk staff helped me with everything. A lot of help was needed.
Absolutely horrible! As many other reviewers say, in my case they had NO WATER at all, vents had MOLD in them, the bed had 2 little pillows, wifi wasnt working and hotel desk was not helpful at all and super slow! They didnt notify of no water upon check-in, and didnt provide timeline for a fix, so I had to get another hotel last minute! DO NOT BOOK THIS.
We’ll start with the positives:- great location, right next to Rockefeller Centre and not far from Central Park- free WiFi- comfortable bedNegatives:- hotel is very shabby and needs some updates- only one lift working for all guests and workers (nightmare!)- no restaurant- running water constantly through toilet- had no hot water first night (they did fix this)- walls are paper thin - very cold nights and not enough bedding- heaters are extremely noisy
Very nice staff, great location and comfy rooms. They were nice enough to accommodate my request for a room with a view and the staff gave me water bottles free of charge after the vending machine scammed me of my money (thank you amazing ladies that were working at 6 am!) Just be careful about the street parking, you can definitely use it but the rules are very specific and strict. 6 hours is about 20 bucks vs 24 hours in the hotels parking garage for 40. Check in and out was smooth as well. Overall great stay!
I was very happy with my stay. The location is excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Check in and check out was easy and quick. The room was very clean and we had total control over the temperature. I enjoyed keurig tea and coffee daily. Good rates. Can recommend.
Positive: Location is great and an easy walk to many places. Clean hotel and friendly service. They also stored my bags for me after check out. Also, the bathroom was huge and had lots of counter space. Negative: As a solo traveler, the room size was fine for me and pretty typical for a NYC hotel. Some may find it a little on the smaller side.
This hotel is clearly understaffed and maybe underfunded. Our room was clean, as far as we could tell, but we were provided a single bath towel and minimal other towels for a stay with 2 adults. When my partner asked for a second towel, she was rudely told that they did not have any more. Then when she asked about the wifi, which is listed as an amenity but in reality didnt exist, she was told we just have to click on it, there is no password. She said the password isnt the issue, there is no wifi network, to which she was told thats not my problem, you just have to click on it. Those things stuck out in an overall poor experience, will never voluntarily choose to stay here again.
The hotel follows all COVID protocols and i felt safe. They would even clean up the room every day and leave sanitiser pouches. The staff was friendly. I had an early checkout and a late flight but they were happy to store my luggage complimentary. The only issue I had was that the water from the shower was too slow.
Positive: Air conditioning was nice. Location was great. Bed was comfortable. Negative: Bathroom was old and shower was 20 years outdated. No bags in trash and when asked I was given a GIANT black plastic trash bag. Lobby, sign in, concierge area is considerably small, impersonal, and inconvenient. Cramped, loud, uncomfortable
My family and I just returned from a 4-night stay here for our Wedding. We filled 8 rooms and stayed a collective 25-nights with 30+ guests. The hotel location is PERFECT…absolutely PERFECT. If I could leave a 10-star review based solely on location and convenience, I would. The hotel itself is also good - not great, but more than sufficient for a stay in NYC. I can only imagine the difficulty of updating the buildings in the city, including the decor, amenities, technologies, etc., so considering the history of the building, the rooms were good. Some rooms do not have a mini-fridge, or kitchenette, or extra seating areas, so be sure to book your rooms very specifically for your needs.Unfortunately, a common issue we found was a difference in promised rooms and space versus what was given to us upon arrival. The parents of the groom were to be upgraded to a space for 3 people, and upon check-in were given a single-bed room without even a pull-out sofa.Lenna, a management staff, was SUPER helpful most of the time and really did well to fix issues as best she could when they were brought to her attention. We did note a lack of compassion from other desk attendees, so more than once we actually had to call Lenna ourselves from our personal cell phones to get results. We were not treated kindly or expediently by Deborah on multiple occasions, and we were dismissed and asked to ‘go wait somewhere’ as our elderly relatives did not have their correct rooms. The plans for this wedding and stay had been in place for almost 2 full years, and I believe that any reasonable person would expect to be treated at least fairly, if not just a touch better considering the circumstances (30+ guests!).We are generally very easy to please and overly forgiving, even to a fault, but Deborah seemed to go out of her way to dampen the mood and represent the Raddison poorly. Her lack of compassion and helpfulness was a topic at our wedding! (Oh my!)If it was known that Deborah was no longer affiliated with this hotel, we might consider returning. However, further considering the multiple errors, lapses in judgement, and lazy/ incompetent excuses for issues during what was a VERY planned stay, we ultimately suggest to look elsewhere and prevent yourself the headache.P.S. Thank you to the few employees (bell hop, cleaning staff) who helped to make up for Deborah’s awful demeanor - one of you went out of your way to find me in the hallway and apologize on her behalf.
Positive: I love the location it was right across from Radio City Music Hall. The room was what I excepted small only enough space for 2 people maybe 3 if its a small child. Negative: The front desk staff was rude except for the lady when I checked out, the night time male front desk assistant was on his cell phone and gave me an attitude like I was annoying him when I asked a question on about the location to a place.
Positive: First of all! I paid for a king size bed. When l arrived to register that didn¿t have a king size bed available and it took several minutes for him to find me a room. He finally gave me a kitchenette but the room was narrow and the bathroom door was Negative: They didn¿t give me what l paid for. So l was some money back!!!!¿
The worst hotel experience we ever had as a couple! We arrived late at night. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and checked us in. The room we got was very old and not clean. We asked for another room so she moved us. We grabbed the keys and when we arrived to the room, the lock to the room was dead so we went back to the front desk where we got a third room. All in all, checking in took us over an hour in the middle of the night. Next morning we asked for the manager and AJ at the front desk, saying he is the supervisor, met us and was VERY rude! Honestly, he destroyed our entire trip since he had zero understanding and no feeling for customer service, at all! Instead of apologizing, he said things like “your new room costs much more than the one you booked” and “I can give you a full refund, the room currently goes for $300-$400 dollar so we can easily rent it out to someone else tonight”. Also, the phone in our room didn’t work, which we mentioned in the morning. When we came back at night and asked about the phone, he said “you never told me that you want it fixed”, instead of going ahead and fixing it. We got upset with his way of speaking to us but he felt he was completely right, since he told us “stop arguing with me or I will call the police”, when we simply just gave the feedback that we didn’t feel good about his way taking to us. He didn’t apologize during our entire stay and we booked and stayed for 6 nights!! We filed a complaint to Radisson. We have been staying at several Radisson hotels in different countries. This was the first time we had such an awful experience! Also, the rooms are not clean, the sink didn’t drain at all, water leaked below the sink in the main room and we got the feeling that simply nobody cares for the hotel at all! If you want an enjoyable vacation, don’t book this hotel!
Worst experience ever. If I could give a negative rating, I would. I went to NYC for business and booked a room at the Radisson Hotel Midtown Fifth Ave. The first room they gave me had no internet. They said that the room was located in an area of the hotel that does not get internet. They said they would move me to another room. After repacking my things, I moved to a second room. But the bathroom in the second room was broken. I asked the front desk to send someone to fix it, and they sent a person who verified that the bathroom was broken. The person said they had no engineer on site so they wouldnt be able to fix it. I waited another 30 minutes for the staff to find me a solution, for a total of 2 hours waiting and moving from one room to another. Finally, I ran out of patience and time and told them this was unacceptable and that I would move to another hotel. They did not apologize or offer any type of assistance or compensation. The hotel still charged my credit card for one night, even though I didnt spend the night at the hotel! I called Radisson customer service but they refused to refund my money. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels and never experience something like this. I will never stay at a Radisson hotel.
Honestly I cannot believe how rude the person at the front person was. I experienced an issue with my booking (not the fault of the person at the front desk or of the hotel). However, she was so rude and unhelpful when dealing with my reservation. Several times I was waiting in front of the desk while she was on the other line - customer service normally dictates you at least acknowledge the person waiting and ask them to hold on or one second. Instead, she ignored me and told me “I’m just one person” - I understand that but at least provide basic customer service. She did not bother to provide me any updates or let me know what was going on. Her name was Deborah. Please avoid this hotel. Yes the rates are cheaper and there’s a reason for that
We had 4 girls night out, we stayed in this hotel for long due catchup and fun, hotel had a good buzz with friendly and welcoming team who make it special. Bar looks new, refurnished with lots of afternoon tea, our rooms were spotless and breakfast was yummy especially after night out. Breakfast was busy but well managed
WORST HOTEL EVER. STAYED THERE FROM FRIDAY 12/17/21 TO MONDAY 12/20/21 WITH NO HOT WATER THE ENTIRE TIME OF OUR STAY. WE WAS NOT EVEN MADE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE UNTIL AFTER WE HAD ALREADY CHECKED IN AND MONEY WITHDRAWN FROM MY ACCOUNT. HAD I KNOWN THERE WAS NO HOT WATER, I WOULD HAVE WENT SOMEWHERE ELSE, BUT THEY WANTED TO TIE UP MY HOTEL FUNDS THERE. WHEN I ASK FOR A REFUND, THEY RUDELY SAID OK, YOULL RECEIVE IT IN ABOUT 11 TO 14 BUSINESS DAYS. THEY ADVERTISE A RESTAURANT WITH AN OVERLOOK OF THE STREET, THAT WAS NOT EVEN OPEN AND WE WASNT AWARE OF THIS UNTIL AFTER WE CHECKED IN. FILED A COMPLAINT WITH CORPORATE OFFICE, THEY GAVE ME 20% OFF, WHICH TO ME WAS A COMPLETE INSULT CONSIDERING THEIR HOTEL RUINED OUR FIRST VACATION TO NEW YORK. TRY TAKING A COLD SHOWER WHEN ITS ALREADY 25 DEGREES OUTSIDE. I WOULD NEVER STAY AT THIS MISMANAGED DUMP OR RECOMMEND ANYONE TO STAY THERE.
Positive: Good location Negative: We stayed for two night. Female receptionist seemed pissed off and acted like she didnt want to be there or assist guests. The staff create an atmosphere and the staff I encountered here were standoff-ish and acted like they did not want to be bothered
Positive: only location was good rest of everything is poor Negative: its not resort or 3-4 star hotel, it was just 1 star independent motel where rooms are $---/night. room was very tiny, bathroom is very small, no hot water. i use only elevator and sleep in night. one day without shower.
Good location - walking distance to Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center, Empire State Building, and more. And its affordable compared to other hotels in the area. However, the quality is not very high. Its a good option if you just use your hotel room as a place to sleep but I wouldnt recommend it if youre someone who spends a few hours of your day in the room. Its small, smells weird, not aesthetically pleasing, etc.
Positive: The location Negative: We had to ask for towels every day. There was two of us staying in the room but they only gave us one set every day. the clerk cannot find my reservation when I first checked in and they charged Me again I had to go the next day and they corrected it
Positive: walking distance to time square and central park. Hotel advertised parking of $40. However, I was charged $55 per day. The highest price advertised at the garage itself was $58. We did not have a good expression from the front desk lady at our arrival Negative: Only one soap and one big towel for 2 adults. we complained and they stated the lady in charge of towels is gone home! We have to remind them again on the 2nd day . Except the attendance at our arrival, the others were professional. No free Breakfast.
We were extremely disappointed. Rooms are TINY. We were given two towels, only one washcloth, & 2 small pillows. Showers took double the usual time, as the water pressure was absolutely horrible. The front desk staff seemed to be clueless about anything we inquired about. Don’t waste your money.
Small room, lobby and bathroomDirty sheetsNo large towelsHotel guests not wearing masks2 pillows on bedNo working WiFi - tried connecting for hours and then finally called late at night, but tech wasn’t available until 7am which becomes inconvenient when you’re trying to catch a meeting during work hours. Having a reliable WiFi network is keyOverall pretty small hotel as one may presume because of locationPROSGood locationMicrowave and fridge available
Good affordable hotel. The location is great. Lots of things to do within a 5-25 minute walking distance. The rooms are small but not uncomfortably tight. Wish the amenities were listed when booking though, a mini fridge would have been extremely useful but was not in the room I stayed in. Clean bathroom, and staff was very accommodating to requests. Good place to stay if it is just 1-2 people for a few days.
Positive: Great location steps form Rockefeller Center and 5th Ave. and subway. Stopped into St. Patricks Cathedral which was an unexpected plus. Negative: The persons straightening the room after my first night forgot to leave washcloths and left only one Keurig cup of regular coffee. Minor inconvenience, but I sure could have used a 2nd cup for my early start that morning.
The short and sweet version-- its a great value for the location. If you can handle the Radisson Fifth Avenues special flavor of chaos, its going to be your favorite hotel ever. The longer version-- we have stayed in midtown NYC so many times that we decided to have our wedding here so other people could have a way to enjoy the city that we love so much. We started planning a large wedding for our family and friends on 2019, eloped during the pandemic, and decided to go through with the big NYC wedding in 2021. So after 2 years of dealing with this hotel (which I only chose for the convenient walkable location to our venue for our many older guests) we did that this weekend. From the absolute moment we walked in the door I thought I was in the wrong place (lol), and as the bride that has been planning this wedding for TWO YEARS with these people, I cannot excuse associates who work for a billion dollar company not being capable of putting my ~30 guests in the right rooms and making sure that I had the very few things that would have made this a 5 star experience. My husband and I are very laidback, forgiving people and frankly, we were taken advantage of and, at times, embarrassed. The helpful version-- bring plastic utensils, paper plates, plastic cups, ear plugs, your own snacks, water, and booze (no bar, terrace, or entertainment whatsoever-- my photographer was actually SHOOd away from the outdoor terrace when we were told she could snap some pictures there. SO embarrassing.) Parking is $40-$55/day in a garage a block away (but you can walk through the glass connector building during business hours). And they do let you check in early/check out late if you need to. The porters and bellhops are absolutely fabulous and you can tell they are used to being apologetic for the front desk/management. Tip them generously.
Positive: The good part about the hotel was that the location was conveniently located near many of the attractions we wanted to see. Negative: The room was not at all what we expected. There were stains on the carpet, scratch marks on the walls. The thermostat did not work; the room was very hot the entire time. The sink would NOT shut off completely. The wires on the A/C unit were sticking out.
Seems most rooms have a shower stall, not a bath tub. I need a bath tub in my hotel room. While I was waiting to check in, a VERY drunk guest came staggering into the lobby. Barely coherent and barely able to stand. The doorman and the lady at the front desk very courteously escorted back into the elevator and I assume back to his room.Although when I booked my room for the weekend, the booking site showed photos of a bathtub, there was only a shower stall. I walked into my room, turned on the light, turned around and went back to the elevator. As there were no rooms with a tub, I handed over my room key and got a taxi. The desk staff could not have been more courteous and professional, both in dealing with me and with the drunk guest. If there had been a bathtub, I think I would have had a very pleasant weekend there. But a shower stall is a complete deal breaker for me. Great location, great desk staff, great value for Manhattan. If youre fine with a shower stall, Id recommend the place. But they shouldnt show you photos of one thing on the booking site and then not have that available.
Positive: In the middle of a major traffic jam, one of the staff came with me to flag down a taxi to get me to my bus home. Thank you, thank you! Negative: One of the plug outlets seemed to DRAIN power from my computer. The outside labeling of the hotel is weak. To find the hotel, I called and got people at a central location who couldnt help me, and the hotel itself wouldnt pick up the phone.
Positive: The only good thing about the hotel was the location. Negative: From the moment we arrive we encounter rude and unprofessional customer service. The only person that was professional was the lady working Friday morning shift. And she was even surprised with what we experience the night before.
This hotel doesn’t deserve any stars. I had to request towels and wash cloths extra pillow because they were flat. They had a thin blanket on the bed, underneath a sheet like it was a duvet. It was just poor quality for the price. Someone was knocking allllllll night long. They lied about having on site parking. I will not return.
Positive: It was clean, comfortable, and well-priced. Negative: This hotel is kind of further into Manhattan than I would have liked. It is streets away from 34th or 42nd. This is good because it is quiet but you will have to walk a bit to obtain food. It is close to the theaters but they are closed due to covid.
Very friendly staff, my room was upgraded because the queen room I reserved was all booked up( overbooked?). You really cant beat this location since its across the street from the Rockefeller center, walking distance to Times Square and Central Park too. The Broadway and 49th Street subway stop is also just a few blocks away so its easy to go elsewhere too- even LGA airport. My room was pretty spacious for two people and it was pretty affordable for a weekend. There are small maintenance details that could be fixed (outlet cover needs to be replaced, grout in the shower needs to be redone) but that didnt really bother me considering I was only in the room to sleep- the bedding was clean and there were alcohol wipes for the remote which was also covered with plastic due to covid. Theres a Keurig in the room with coffee and tea. Bring your own liquid creamer if youre picky (there is powder creamer provided). Overall, I thought it was pretty nice!
We came for the tree lighting event which was extremely misrepresented tonight. You could not see anything and they only had wine and sodas even though it said drinks. The food was dry and most everyone gave up and left. People spent good money for a horrible event. This is the first time in my life I have ever given a negative review. Hopefully people will not fall for this debacle next year.
Positive: It¿s location to everything. Negative: WiFi in room didn¿t work. AC didn¿t work. They knew about the bad wifi but didn¿t really care. They moved us to another room. Wifi was spotty and AC and heater were only tolerable functioning. Microwave was a fire hazard.
Clean rooms, friendly stuff. Located in the downtown area. Walking distance to many tourists attractions including The Times Square, St. Patricks Cathedral, Madame Tussauds, Broadway, Central park, and The Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center). Perfect place for tourists to stay in NY.
Positive: I stayed for 4 days, had room service every day (unexpected during covid when other places have it only when you call. There was a problem with the room heat when I arrived, which they promptly fixed. The front desk staff was so friendly! Location! Gym. Negative: Nothing I didnt like, had a great experience
Positive: Location, small number of roooms on floor we stayed, room more spacious than expected.outside food service very good quality, delivered very quickly and not overly expensive Negative: Small lobby but lobby staff very efficient at moving people through quickly
Positive: Very nice staff, excellent ¿¿ Negative: Elevators to slow especially on the weekends. Pillows to hard bed was uncomfortable. Housekeeping did not follow rules as to leave things at the door especially when there is a dont disturb sign. Just came in the room when I was not there.
Awful Customer Service.I booked the hotel and paid via Priceline. I arrived from the airport and my credit card had been blocked because I was traveling. The room was prepaid and I offered the front desk another card via Apple Pay and they said they could not accept it. I had meetings in the day and returned around 5:15 pm and they still would not let me check in. The night manager then said I could pay a $250 cash deposit and I tried to explain my debit card was locked. He basically said tough luck nothing we can do…. I grabbed my bag and headed to the Marriott where not only they accept Apple Pay but they aren’t awful human beings. When I called Priceline to ask for a refund they told me the hotel said I was a no show which is also fraudulent. I have the luggage pickup tag to show I was definitely there.Avoid this dump at all costs. The only reason you would want to stay there is the roof courtyard but it is closed. While I was down in the lobby multiple guests complained they also could not connect to Wi-Fi. Could not connect to Wi-Fi. In midtown Manhattan. At a business hotel. The whole place is so awful it would almost be funny if everyone there wasn’t so miserable.
Room was so dirty. There was toothpaste (or something) splatter all over the bathroom walls. I didnt even use the shower because I took one look and regretted not bringing my shower shoes. We got up to our room after a long day out and our key didnt work. No answer on the lobby phone so we went all the way back down and waited for a new key card. There were only 2 pillows on the bed, and one of them was hard as a rock. I used the good pillow because I had to drive in the morning and didnt want a stiff neck. My guest used a jacket as a pillow. Awful.
The location of this hotel is the biggest reason I booked. Centrally located and only a few blocks from major sight seeing locations like st Patricks cathedral, times square, Broadway, and central park. However the rooms arent the best. The hotels age shows and the rooms can be a bit gloomy and has the slightest smell of cigarette smoke. Check in was fast but can get really crowded around check in time so if you can wait to check in, believe me, wait.
Positive: The location and the staff are a big plus for this hotel it was a great overall experience. Negative: The restaurant remained closed and there wasnt any breakfast. were literally told to order on uber eats if we wanted something to eat but, its ok, we understand we still getting out of this pandemic.
Positive: Location, and the day desk staff is amazin Negative: The evening staff was not so pleasant or accommodating, she was rather rude and inconsiderate. The noise was unbelievable from the room the next door, it sounded like construction all day & night, the hotel would do nothing. Said no construction in hotel.
The location was amazing. I was near everything in the heart of the city across from Radio Music Hall. The room was clean. The reason I didnt give it five starts because my room was a bit outdated and small. Staff was okay. I went during COVID times, so no cleaning during my shirt stay, but they did take sanitizing precautions like wrapping the remote and stuff.
Check in was easy and staff was friendly and very helpful. Pleasant, clean room - large, extended stay Q room with sofabed, desk + chair, table with extra chairs and kitchenette. They were able to find a room on same floor for another family member. We were there for a wedding at St. Patricks Cathedral, which is only 1/2 block away. Easy to walk to restaurants, too. Only problem was retrieving my car from the SP+ parking garage they are associated with on 52nd St - due to street festival the street was closed, so no one bothered to work at the garage. Several of us had to call the parking company to get someone to come, unlock the garage, and get our cars. Not really Radissons fault, but it was an inconvenience.
The rep JOAN Employee ID#22026626 is the worse rep whatsoever. has no information about the hotel. does not know any information as far as the amenities of the hotel. does not know prices, availabilities, anything at all. placed me on hold for over 35 minutes to tell me that the room i was in the process of reserving was taken due to her lack of knowledge and customer service and because every time a question was asked she had to put me on hold (forever) in order to answer any questions. unfortunately by the time she got her self together it was too late and the room was taken. even worse the entire hotel was fully booked and i couldnt get a room. this person should be fire or put in a different field since Im sure she has cost a lot of wasted money on reservations and obviously not happy customers like me. mind you Im supposed to be a member of this hotel. lol but this is how they treat members, imagine regular customers or first timers.
RADISSON HOTEL 5TH AVENUE STOLE ME AND THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE. IT IS UNBELIEVABLE BUT I STAYED AT THEIR HOTEL FOR 8 DAYS, PAYED FOR ALL CHARGES DURING STAY BUT AFTER COMING BACK TO MY COUNTRY, I REALIZE THEY DOUBLE CHARGED ME. SOMEONE (I BELIEVE FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE) JUST CONTACTED A DAY AFTER I WROTE THIS BUT THEY JUST SAID SO SORRY. STILL WAITING FOR RESPONSE OF GETTING MY MONEY BACK. AFTER TWO MONTHS I STILL DOESNT RECEIVE RESPONSE FROM ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT, NO PERSONNEL ALOWED TO SOLVE AND MANY CALLS AFTER, STILL SAME SITUATION. HOPE EVERYBODY SEES THIS!!! IT IS A SHITTI HOTEL!! Espero lograrlo pronto.
DO NOT GO THERE!They will try to get your money by any way possible. We called a few hours before we were arriving to ask if we could drop our luggage at the reception or check in early. On the phone the receptionist said “okay no worries” for both options. Once we get there, another receptionist refused to take our luggage, arguing that it was for check out only. He also asked us to pay an extra 50$ PER NIGHT, if we wanted to check in before the afternoon. Also they charge 2$ to store your luggage.Bad experience over all
No social distancing maintained by occupants nor enforced by staff. The ENTIRE hotel reeked of pot smoke. There was no place to avoid it. I thought your hotels were all no smoking. The lobby, the elevator, the floor, the ventilation in the room, the drapes, the carpets, everything smelled of pot. Unacceptable. The floors / carpets were disgusting. Debris, dirt, stains all over the floors. The hotel should be embarrassed of these conditions.
This was my first stay at this NYC Radisson location and it exceeded my expectations. Destiny upgraded my room to a gorgeous suite with a Fifth Avenue view. Very quiet room since it was located at the end of the hallway. The bed was so comfortable and the pressure of the shower head was fantastic! Looking forward to returning soon.
For a couple who didn’t need much, it was great! We stayed for about a week here. Highly highly recommend.Location: centrally located and EASY to ride the subway to get anywhere you need to go. Definitely in the touristy area, but it was good for us as first timer visitors of NYC. You are literally right across the Rockefeller buildings, diagonally from st. Patrick’s cathedral, couple blocks from Times Square, and a couple blocks from Central Park.Room: Enough room to have a medium sized checked luggage and two carryons laid out and still room to walk. The bed was comfortable, tv channels were great, and the two types of blinds was clutch. We were on the 14th floor and couldn’t hear any street noise. Additionally, they placed the other guest on the same floor on the opposite side of us and that was cool/kind of them. Oh also, it was clean!Bathroom: Great! Sure, the shower isn’t super wide but it worked for us and we loved how hot the water would get.Service: employees were super great! All very friendly and helpful.Parking: they partner with an SP+ to provide guests parking for $40 per every 24hrs. The location is a block over (on 52nd), but it’s super easy to get to if you just cross the lobby of any of the neighboring buildings. Guys at the parking garage were great too. It’s worth it and the price is cheaper than other parking options we were looking at while there.NYC tip from first timer: get a 7 day unlimited subway pass and it’ll make your life so much better! We weren’t there for 7 days, but we got our money’s worth with the number of times we used the subway. We used it multiple times in one day because of how convenient it was. Instead of a 15min walk, we’d take a 8min subway ride. We gave our passes to other guests before we left.Always ask the price before buying anything. Especially while exploring the touristy areas as prices are twice or three times more expensive than you’d expect. (Only scam we experienced was paying $16 for two vanilla ice creams while in Times Square. Wouldn’t have done it if we knew the cost! Haha. We learn from our experiences, right?!)”
4 star MOTELI stayed here only 1 night...clean the bathroom myself because of the hair left in the shower and corners of the bathroom floor. Disinfected all surfaces of the room because I found a roach crawling near the bathroom. All to be charged a late check out fee when only one elevator was working in the building and a line well over 10 people in a small lobby with only one person at the front desk. When trying to speak with someone at the hotel for the extra charge I was told they couldnt help me due to me booking with a third party to then me being told I can have a receipt of the room charges to never getting them. On the corporate end of things thus hotel group needs more training in the hospitality field. Cookie cutter scripts dont cut it when you play with peoples money and dont take accountability for it.
The entrance to this Radisson hotel was Incredible small and the lobby felt very confined. The room is very small as well. It has a relatively ok view of the city skyscrapers from a high floor. We were very disappointed though to find the terrace restaurant on the 7th floor closed. This was the whole reason we chose this hotel for our first night in New York City.
Positive: Customer Service and Staff were great. Negative: Physically, the hotel, not so much. Television did not work. Thats okay we could listen to our neighbors (and their conversations and footsteps) through the paper thin walls. Strange smell - I assume disenfectant? $100 for early checkin seems high.
Oh where to begin... First tried to change a reservation because of a medical emergency with a relative forced out drive back several hours. Debra at the front desk was not sympathetic at all and refused to be flexible. As far as the stay itself, the window was left open so the room was super humid when we got there. One of the elevators didnt work so there was a huge line to get on the elevator (and coming back down the wait was forever) and the bed was very uncomfortable.Find somewhere else.
Great location, friendly service. I had a room on the 6th floor - it looked recently renovated. Modern furnishing, walls were bright and clean. Bathroom was clean and tidy. The bed was firm and comfortable.I was nervous after reading some of the reviews before my trip, but the hotel was great and I had nothing to be worried about. My only complaint was that there isnt really any soundproofing between rooms, but its NYC and I expect some noise transfer in a hotel.
The staff is cool, but the rooms are mediocre. We upgraded to a suite style room for an extra $20 a night, which was awesome, but since I used debit instead of credit, the incidental charge was $100 instead of $50 and it’ll take a bit longer to be refunded to my card. The suite was beautiful, it was like we rented a small one bedroom for our stay, as it was equipped with a kitchenette, two TVs, and a small couch. The kitchenette came with cups, small plates, utensils, and dish soap. However, the water was rusted and after running it for a couple of minutes to clear it up, I realized there was a leak under the sink. Once the rusty water receded, there was a coffee ground like substance that was left behind leaving my husband and I very confused. The bathroom was split, with the shower and toilet on one end and the sink and mirror straight across. The bedroom itself was average sized but the bed was pretty comfy. I wouldn’t mind coming back, but I’ll stick with a standard room my next go around. The location is in the heart of Rockefeller Center, it’s great but it can get annoying during the holidays when there’s barricades everywhere because of the tree lighting.
Maybe its difficult to fairly rate this hotel during covid-19 times. Nonetheless, my quick stay at the Radisson was unsettling. But, first, a couple of good points. The room was definitely clean. I didnt find any refuse from the previous guests and it looked like it was thoroughly and carefully cleansed. Also, the price was right. I paid 63 for the night, reserved through Priceline. The small, drab room, as clean as it was, looked stripped of many amenities -- no fridge, no blow dryer, no microwave (they did have a coffee maker). It seemed as if anything that wasnt nailed down, was removed. Also, this is not a quiet hotel as I could clearly hear conversations and loud TV/music from the other rooms. When I first entered the hotel, I walked in on a screaming, unhinged woman who was threatening the staff, the other guests and me. The only employee in the lobby was the woman checking in guests and I was fearful for her. After 5 -8 minutes the angry woman left but that scene set the tone. Guests and non-guests were entering the building without anyone checking that they should be there. The hotel, though, seemed to follow all health regulations.Lastly, they placed the requisite security deposit ($50) on my credit card. When I checked 2 days later , they charged my credit card $50 instead of lifting the hold. I had to make a formal dispute through the credit card company.
Positive: Good location. Negative: The room was quite small. It was a hot weekend and my room thermostat was set to 72-68 degrees yet the room felt closer to 78-80. This made for uncomfortable sleeps. Also the room air unit made a clinking noise at night so my sleep was interrupted.
I come to NYC quite a bit, and of all hotel stays Ive had so far this was the most frustrating. The customer service is extremely disappointing. Im not sure if I dealt with the same person twice or spoke to one person on the phone before I arrived and a different in person, but both were very snarky, short, and obviously disinterested in talking to me. I called ahead before coming to new York to confirm my reservation and make sure there wouldnt be any complications and was told that a package that I had delivered to the hotel containing my friends birthday present wasnt there! I obviously panicked and had to rush to have a replacement sent to my home in Seattle to give to my friend late, only to learn when I checked in that the original package had been there for 3 days before I even called! They didnt even bother to check when I called! The room was freezing, no matter what temp I set the thermostat to. There was mascara on one of the pillows when I arrived. I asked housekeeping for an additional pillow that never arrived. The walls are so paper thin I could hear EVERY. SINGLE. WORD. and every intimate moment of the people next door. And despite having called ahead of time to make sure there would be no complications with my stay since I had to book an additional night and arrive a day early, I still had housekeeping pounding on my door on the first morning telling me that I needed to leave because my reservation was over, when I was supposed to have another 3 nights. I then had to drag my jetlagged and exhausted self out of the room to talk with the rude girl at the desk where I was told that I had to pay another deposit and do the check in process again - something that could/should have been relayed to me when I called ahead or when I checked in.Ive stayed in lower quality hotels with much better service.
Positive: Location and friendly staff. Negative: AC was not working properly & serious maintenance needed in bathroom. Terrible paint job & paint chipping, fixtures were barely hanging, not enough hooks for towels, shower curtains smelled, water pressure low. TV channels did not come in right/pixelated.
Positive: Based on this stay the location was the only redeeming quality for this hotel. This coming from someone who has stayed here multiple times and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Never again. Negative: I¿ve stayed here before on many occasions and I usually enjoy everything but this time I was met with rude and argumentative front desk staff, a stinky dark room and total regret for booking the night here. They also increased the deposit for no reaso
Hotel was ok. Location is great walking distance to everything but there was a weed smell all the time while i was there. In the elevator, hall. It gave me the vibe i was in a motel in the ghetto. The room was clean and looks outdated. There is nothing to drink in the room not even a bottle of water. I dont think i would come back to this hotel.✌️
Positive: The hotel is a different version of the Club Quarters that I have visited many times. Negative: -- my tv did not work -- they do not give enough packets to use for coffee service. Each packet has few things. Each room should get ten packets. ---The shower was not strong and was not hot enough. ---NO HELP from front disk.
Hotel was very clean, well maintained, and the staff was great. I stayed here for one night and it was exactly what I needed. I visit the city often, but rarely stay at hotels. I needed one that was close enough to Rockefeller, but not crazy on the price and this was the perfect one.Rockefeller center is right out the front door and subway stations are very close by. You will absolutely see the Rockefeller Tree if that is something you intend to do.Also, due to COVID breakfast is NOT being served buffet style, you must order room service if you would like to have breakfast from the hotel.Enjoy!!
We stayed here in February 2020 for 5 nights during our city trip. The room was clean and not too small, we slept on the 25th floor so there was not too much noise from the street. We can recommend this hotel, but stay away from the breakfast; it was awfull. We had to eat on carton plates with plastic cutlery. There wasnt much choice and everything was packed in plastic. Also, the waiter had Airpods in while working, but the people at the front desk were friendly.
There were several issues with this location.-it was over an hour to check-in-only one person was working(I wonder as a manager, should there be more than one person so someone can step in? )- there was a long line of people waiting tocheck-in and out, and the line was forming inside. This violates social distancing regulations.-And the person working there was passive and disorganized, which made everyone else wait longer.-there was a reservation made through day use and they did not honor this. We ended up leaving the place frustrated.
If you want an ideal location, affordable and clean hotel with friendly staff I highly recommend staying at the Radisson. Walking distance to EVERYTHING and quieter than staying in / near Times Square. We walked to Times Square, Central Park, Bryant Park and the subway made it very easy to venture out to the East Village as well as Queens.

2022-03-04We arrived at the hotel at 11 am and we were able to check into our room immediately, making it easier after long travel. The hotel location is excellent, 5 minutes from Central Park, Times Square and 2 minutes from Rockefeller and the subway, 10 minutes from grand central station too. The rooms were aged and had seen better days, we had stains on the chair and carpet in the room and our bathroom tap could not be closed and water was running constantly. The bed linen was clean however. For the price and location this hotel is what was expected.

2021-12-27Positive: The location was great. Right next to Radio City and Duane Reade which is open 24/7. The rooms were a good size and we had a corner room which was nice. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable and clean. Staff was nice. Negative: The carpet didnt seem as clean as it could be and it had rips in it. The bathroom door didnt close properly. I expected it to be a lot nicer from photos/reviews but we were only there for one night and didnt spend much time there so it was ok.

2022-03-28Great experience staying here in March 2022. Easy walking distance from Broadway theaters for my mom. The staff was very helpful & kind. We were able to check-in early (1:30pm) and were also able to leave our bags at the hotel on our last day after check-out before our evening flight. The street was much quieter at night than I anticipated considering how close it is to Times Square—a very pleasant surprise that we were able to sleep soundly. Our room had a Keurig with coffee pods. The hotel restaurant was closed during our visit but that didn’t bother us. Great experience overall & would be happy to book this hotel again in the future.

2022-06-25The receptionists were very friendly, but thats the nicest part of the hotel. The hotel pictures are deceiving. The room I stayed at was very dated and odd. An already small room was made smaller with a massive pillar in it. Carpet and chair covered with stains. The bathroom door felt like it was going to fall apart every time I opened it. The bathroom is very tiny and the shower feels more like a shower you would see at a gym. I felt like I should have worn shower shoes in it. It appeared old and dirty. Gaps in the grout and drain looked like it was taken from a garage floor. No refrigerator or ice bucket. Actually I couldnt find any ice machines at all. I didnt ask so its possible they have one, but nothing in the room indicated where they would be located. Other hotels give a little brochure about the hotel and area. Not the Rad. The AC blows and not in a good way. All lights were on a motion sensor so they would randomly turn off if you stayed still too long or all turned on in the night if you got up to use the bathroom. Tried to figure out how to get it to work like a normal switch but to no luck. The rooms view overlooked AC units but the view didnt really matter since the windows were filthy. Looked like they have never been cleaned. Inside and out. The window sill had grime and dirt on it. Would not pass the white glove test. Random outlet/switch covers throughout the room. A long mirror leaned against the wall and when moved it gave a view to a stack of outlets on the wall and more dirt and dust. The friendly receptionist and location is the only thing the place had going for it. I only stayed 1 night and spent almost the entire time out of the room so I dealt with it, but staying any longer would have been less than ideal in that room. For the quality of the room, the price was horrible. I get the location means more expensive, but at least they could make the room more presentable. The bed was a decent nights sleep, but the pillow had no fluff to it and by morning it was like using just a pillow case to rest my head on.

2022-01-14The location is great. The hotel is clean and the staff is courteous and helpful. We were supposed to go for Christmas but got sick, so we went in January and the tree was still up so it was great to be able to see it. The hotel is by Radio City Music Hall. A great location near all the touristy area, close to shopping and many restaurants. Trains near by to take you time different parts of the city. Stations in that area are fairly safe. Lots of bars too for sports watching or just to have a couple of beers. There were some items that housekeeping should have caught before we had gotten there though so before you settle in make sure the heat works and the toilet flushes properly.

2022-01-06The good:- Location; you can walk to many attractions and subways are a 5 min walk.- Rooms are expected to be NY size, not big but not super tiny either, bed was comfortable and cozy. Coffee included but no water bottles.- We were in the 20th floor facing east and it was pretty quiet, the noise level was low- Clean roomsThe bad:- Water pressure was pretty bad, luckily we had hot water- Sink was running the whole time- The young African American man at the front desk sucked. He didnt seem to care about his job nor about the guests. No manners and when my partner asked for an extra towel for our room we never got it and he didnt seem to acknowledge it. He should not be working at a hotel with the amount of guests that stay there.Overall, not sure if Id stay here again. We had an alright experience, front desk staff could be more pleasant and friendly.

2021-12-30Positive: The location of the hotel is excellent. It is steps from Radio City Music Hall and Rockefeller Center (and a Duane Reade). Easy access to the subway and 5th avenue. The room is everything you need for a night in NYC Negative: The first room had no hot water but there were no other vacancies, as well as being a little cramped but comfortable. Hotel did offer a discount for the night as well as a new room the 2nd night. The 2nd room was more spacious

2021-12-14Best location you can get if you want to stay in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Right down the street is Radio City, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, subway station and more! The room was actually pretty clean! Bed was made everyday by hotel cleaning service. However, one negative is that the space is very small. There was a total of 3 drawers for clothing storage, 1 small clothing rack, and about 2 tabletops served as extra space to place items. There is a fridge and microwave so that is a plus! Bathroom door didn’t work-wouldn’t slide closed. Shower head pressure was weak. You are able to crack open the window a bit for fresh air. We visited during December and the room was always warm.Perfect stay for going in and out!

2022-05-11The hotel is Not what you would expect from a Raddison and after now noting this hotels rank of 391 out of 539 in New York we would not have stayed. The hotel is currently having a lot of work done to it and should not have been open to guests in my opinion. On arrival there is a display showing the roof top dining area which looks great but it’s closed for construction. One of the 2 lifts is being used by construction workers and although covered to protect the sides and floors was scruffy. The second lift was rarely working. The room we stayed in was in desperate need of a refit. The furniture was old and warped and the bathroom again had seen better days. I would NOT recommend staying!

2021-12-20When I made the reservation, they promised valet parking. There is no valet, I drove around for over an hour trying to find a parking garage that wasnt full. They have 2 that offer a lower rate because they are tied to the hotel but they were full as well. The front desk said it wasnt their problem. When we got back from shopping and dinner, there was no hot water. They offered a 20% discount or a full refund if we left immediately. Not good customer service. Really makes me wonder if the hot water was out when they had me check in.
