Best burger we’ve had in a long time! Well-sized portions cooked perfectly, with great flavor combinations. Great drinks. Took all of the necessary precautions to make the place feel clean and safe for covid-concerned guests. Friendly, timely, and courteous service. Outdoor dining in the back is comfortable -great for groups or a nice date. Will definitely be back the next time we are in the area.
Its my second home!!!! Love love love the staff, food, and music events. Its like one big family! My favorite meals are the burgers ( the best is mushroom swiss) , rafters salad and the burritos with veggies.
We went recently and have to say not impressed by food or service. (Note this is during COVID-19 take out only service)We called and ordered several dishes. The wings ( Honey BBQ) a lot of BBQ no real honey sweetness to it. Garden Salad the salad was not very fresh more like several days - week old greens. Vegetable Burrito same deal not very fresh greens. A Specialty Burger and the Bun was not fresh, burger tasted as if par boiled a few days ago, frozen and then finished on the grill. Over all very disappointing to try this place after seeing all the great reviews but some people don’t know great or even good. I was born and raised in NYC - Long Island Area and we know the difference between great food and poor food. This at best was two stars. Also waiting 15-20 minutes while a few drinks were made for someone and our packaged and bagged food sat by the service window!!! So all the food was Luke warm at best not warm ( we went by car down by the Delaware to eat, only 2 minutes away. The view was great, food not so much) I know you will say hard to get really fresh vegetables but I also own a home up nearby there in PA and fresh produce, dairy and meat are easily found. I have a hard time saying if I will try again after such a substandard first try. Sorry but This one I can not recommend

Such a great spot - comfortable, casual atmosphere, the staff and bartenders are super friendly, and food/drinks are delicious. We always have a great time!!
Great food, service and atmosphere! What more can you ask for? How about Brewster and Molly (the very happily married couple and the two out of three proprietors of this outstanding establishment) sitting with you and making you feel right at home! Love this cozy, warm little slice of heaven! Highly recommend you go! Were going back for sure!
Very friendly and talented owners. The food is good quality and mostly made in house. No frozen fries or chicken tenders here! Try the burgers, they are phenomenal! They wouldnt think of giving you a premade frozen beef disc. Try the rafters salad too!Well, just try it all!

For a place with a list of burgers, they should really get their grip on the right temp of their patties. Great wedges, bread, and sweet fries, but nothing amazing considering the star of the show is the patty.
This is a wonderful place to eat in Callicoon. Food was fantastic, and both times we stopped there was live music which added to the enjoyment without being overbearing. Very friendly waiting staff as well.All round good vibes. Can only recommend.
If you like waitresses that ignore you and never check on you, prefer to be charged for soft drink refills without being told, or enjoy extremely slow service and over cooked food then Rafters is the place for you.If you would rather have great food and a server with more personality than a cardboard box Id recommend the Callicoon Brewing Company down the street.
Great atmosphere, delicious food, awesome fireplace and I look forward to enjoying the music they will host.So glad to have Rafters Tavern to add to all the charm of Callicoon.

Very nice little tavern/restaurant. The owners are very nice. They promote live music. They are working to convert the old tavern into the go to place in the area. Check it out. You will not be disappointed
Great place , artistic but not over the top, more of a mature crowd , saw two very good bands there last week , friendly atmosphere, good food , reasonable prices, owners and staff are sincerely friendly, bring the kids and grandparents. i love this place

Food was great and the atmosphere is so welcoming. The owners and staff are very friendly and stop and talk with everyone. Have been here a few times and Rafters never disappoints.

Oh a alternative to the watering holes of those in which the women talk like sailors. A better menu is needed, but a wall of bookshelves and the potential for Art on the walls, located next to the movie theater all we need is Rossellini.

2020-10-05Magic place ! Romantic, full of musical talent, great food and drinks. Stepping into an era of forgotten beauty and mystery!Yards away from the Delaware River, trails, the hidden in the woods Crystal Lake .Molly and Brewster will become your instant friends ; I came to stay 3 nights but , combined, 3 weeks later I’m still returning here . I would like to write more but I’m off to Jensens Ledges one more time and close my day with one more swim at Crystal Lake.

2021-09-07We had the best time at Rafters! Great food and drinks, super-friendly service and awesome atmosphere. The live music was the icing on the cake...so good! We stayed upstairs in one of the airbnb rooms and that was awesome as well. We fell in love with Callicoon and Rafters Tavern was a large part of that. Cant wait to return and bring friends & family!

2021-09-04I wanted so much to enjoy this place. The workers were super nice and friendly. But the food was just terrible. I wanted med.rare burger. It was so over cooked and dried that I could not eat it. The fries were just as over cooked. The music was ok. Locals seem to like this place. It is set in a sweet little stuck in time town. I would go back amd give them one more try.

2021-07-23Great find on our late weekend getaway. Great service, and they kept the kitchen open past regular hours to accommodate us. We had wings and they were cooked nicely and had a great variety of sauces to choose from...I recommend the garlic parmesan and the mango habanero. Very eclectic and exceptional open mic. Highlight of our trip to Calicoon. We will definitely go back next time we are in town. Maybe even stay at one of the rooms upstairs 😬😱🤫
