Half this places appeal is that you feel like youre lost in a maze of stuff with no idea what may come around the corner be it the gardening section or another costumer. The other half is that you can probably find anything in here if you have enough time to re-walk an aisle five times. I should probably just ask an employee next time. There seems to be a lot of them.
This place looks small & unassuming from the outside but walk inside & you can spend hours browsing in this two level store. Everything related to cleaning, plumbing, pets, outdoor, organizing, painting, building, holiday, decorating, housewares, gifts & cars can be found here. First time coming here & will be back for sure.
Love Rainbow Ace Hardware. They have it all at reasonable prices. Fantastic customer service u dont get at big box stores. Support your local businesses!! Repeat customer-- customer, customer, customer...lol.

Great general hardware store that carries paint, AC filters, baby pools, and more.I had my Toyota key cut here. Costs $2.50 for the cutting as I brought my own key and can program it myself. If you buy their keys and want then to program it expect to pay around $150 depending on the type of key.

Convenient location to both Rockland County and Bergen County, Friendly well trained staff. Paint department works well with homeowners and Professional Contractors to get an almost perfect match every time. Store’s like Home Depot usually can’t match clear!Family owned and operated along with regular workers who often stay there for years.

Ordered online for in store pickup, called to confirm my order was ready for pickup and was told that they didnt have an item that was listed as in stock on the site, stroke one. Called when I arrived to take advantage of their curbside pickup, they said someone will be out eventually, 10 minutes later I was inside the store, strike two. Once I got there I told them my order, they brought it out quickly which is why it isnt 2 stars, however when I noticed the shovel I ordered didnt have a metal wedge I asked to switch it for one that did, they didnt know how to do a return and had to figure out the difference and charge me separately, they also could not refunded me for the item they didnt have, strike three...I will be found at Home Depot from here on out, even if ACE is a late resort on a Sunday.
The staff was very helpful especially the young guy in the paint department. I needed a key made for my car and although they didnt have it he looked up the information and wrote it down so I could call around asking for the style I needed.
Was able to order my percolator with no problem. Thsnk you for great customer service.
I love this store! They carry so much more than hardware....it is one stop shopping and the staff us super helpful! And as a Realtor, I need to have a LOT of keys made...every single one they have cut for me has worked perfectly.....often very hit and miss when cut at the big box stores.

Ace Hardware sets the standard for customer service!! Employees were available, attentive and eager to help.They were easy to spot and didnt appear inconvenience by my questions. In addition, the staff was in uniform, not idle and informative. I was so stunned by the rarity of their service that I was speechless, and couldnt wait to write this review.
This is a good sized store with two levels and a large variety of products. Ace Hardware sells most items that are needed for home improvement projects along home decor and general purpose household items for the kitchen, bath, and garden. The store had what I needed for upcoming paint and tile projects. It was not crowded and I was able to find what I needed and checkout quickly. There were many employees available to help with questions and to help locate any products.
I was looking for a couple of pieces for a Raingo gutter & downspout system. They came up online as being “available today” at Rainbow Ace. I decided to call and double check. Sure enough, the parts were in stock and the folks on the phone were very nice.Before I took the 1/2 hour drive to get there, I made a list of everything I needed figuring I could also hit the Home Depot in Mahwah. Well, I never made it to HD because Rainbow had everything. Deck screws, star-drive trim screws, DAP 230 caulk, PVC pipe fittings, electrical items, etc... etc. I also noticed a great selection of parts and accessories for Weber grills... a garden department... paint department... items for the home... health and beauty stuff... this place is unbelievable!Suffern is a bit out of the way for me, but I’ve been back twice and will make the trip again!

Are you tired of walking into a store with lots of products and not know where to find anything? That won’t happen here!! Every time I come in I’m greeted by someone and they ask what I’m looking for. They have a great selection of products whether it’s home stuff, hardware or a last minute gift you will find something. They even have a personal care section with shampoo, soaps, etc. They have a great selection of kids toys too including a lot from Melissa and Doug. I also enjoy looking at some of the home decor... you could definitely spend more than 15 mins here lol.
Great local hardware store that carries almost everything you can get at those big places like Home Depot and Lowes with the exception of maybe some of the Furnishings they carry. Staff is pretty attentive and theyll help you with almost anything. Its amazing how much stuff they fit into this place!

General store for 21st c. Always a pleasant experience. They go out of their way to find what you need & I always find something I forgot I needed. Good mail coupons. Open til 8p every night incl Sunday, & on the border of Bergen County, that matters. Really glad theyre there.
Excellent customer service. Right when I came in, an employee walked with me to show me the item I had called about earlier. I would go back there the next time I would need anything for my home.

Ace hardware sell high quality stuff you wont find at home depot bc the margins are lower or price points are too high. Ace has the stuff and I am always impressed. Keep it up.
The store was easy enough to find. Inside a lot of the home goods displayed block you from seeing aisle signage. The hardware and tools are on the main floor behind that. As with most Ace stores prices are a little high. For non specialty items better off going to a big box for lower prices.
Beautiful store, well stocked. Prices may be a little high on occasion, but they are bound to have what you are looking for. Worth browsing around the store, especially the basement.

I went there to ask if they had a particular brand of paint in stock, they didnt. So I got a sample color of another paint and bought some supplies. My experience was good.
No Thank You! Will take my business to Home Depot. Why you may ask? I got off the train in Suffern one evening, as I work in the city and needed something for a large audio visual project. I had my bag with me. I was followed around the store by four different people asking me repeatedly if they could help me. One of them even had the audacity to tell me now that I have found it could I please go upstairs and pay.Excuse me, but I would rather not be treated like a common criminal. I was going there to spend my money but I quickly decided that I would go elsewhere. In addition the people at the checkout have gone downhill and they seem clueless. If I want this I will go to Home Depot and pay 1/2 the price.In fact on my project, the guy at Home Depot told they told me Ace advised me of the wrong stuff and I would have lost picture quality. Walked out of there with something better and still paid less than Ace. Even their coupons are lousy, they are so restricted, why bother to send them.
Great selection and convenient for local residents. You really have to watch prices though. I.E. I went in for garage springs and they were charging almost double the price of HD.. I will pay a little extra for convenience but I won’t pay 2xs... Home Depot was selling a pair for 37.00 while Ace is selling a single for $33. That is nuts.

We were looking for 64oz mason jars for chistmas cookies. This popped up on google. 1/3 of the price of target, they put them aside for me, found even more cases and helped me load them in my car. Wow! Incredible service!!
I went to Ace Hardware in Suffern NY this morning and had a wonderful experience. I was looking for something in particular and Danny made sure that i would not leave without him finding what i needed. He made me feel very special and is such a hard worker. Danny told me that if i ever cant find something to always ask for him and he will make sure that i get it. I have a pleasurable experience and will certainly be back. I even told my friends how polite and respectful that the staff is there and all of my friends are planning on going there. I just wanted to say thank you for making my experience very nice and pleasant and i feel that people should be recognized.
10x better than Home Depot. Not crowded, staff actually helps you. Prices similar. And coupons; which Home Depot rarely offers.

The store is really well stocked with so many items.. everything from grocery items to lumber. They are on the expensive side though and they recently raised all their prices. Many of the items I purchase on a regular basis are quite a bit more expensive here than Home Depot. The convenience/buy local factor is generally why I chose ACE over HD but some items I just wont buy here any longer because they are literally 25-40% more expensive. At that point.. its worth driving another mile or so up the road to HD. Store is still great though so I suppose if cost is not an object.. The google Review should probably add another $.. I would put the store at $$$ rather than the $$. Case in point on a specific product I used in quantity... PREVAL Spray units ( spraying varnish/paint ) HD price is $3.97 per unit ( power replacement ) while Ace is charging $5.99.. I have gotten them to work with me on the price but they wont match it. They have come down $1/unit when I show them HDs price. but these price differences are everywhere in the store so you have to start considering price after the recent price increases which seem to have been blanket raised on almost every item in the store.

WATCH OUT GUYS!! This store is a real sample of a corporate mess.... i bought a few expensive items Tools etc. Spent quite a few hundred bucks, 2 of the tools totaling over $300 worth as soon as i opened them up there was a different brand used item which doesnt work in the box. I have no way to proof that i didnt exchange it at home.... i lost money and didnt even get a working tool, (fyi, i wouldnt even complain if it would be just operating..) Just know and pass on to your friends and stay safe out there. And always check whats in your box, esspecially when buying expensive tools.

Called ahead to make sure a product was in stock and was told it was and would be brought from the store room. After arriving and driving 30 minutes out of my way to get there, was told that they were mistaken.. it was not inn stock...and in reality no-one actually checked when I called.

First of all I wasnt happy with my experience I was just looking at stuff and a worker kept staring at me and then I was innocently leaving and then another worker told me that I was shoplifting and I WAS NOT then I noticed another worker the one that kept staring at me was spreading rumors so I had to empty all my pockets out to show them I didnt steal anything and I was surprised that the one spreading rumors said I was stealing while they were watching me I just cant believe my experience

2022-07-03Store is amazing! They have so much more than hardware. Adam helped me with a spare key to an older car. He cut it and programmed it in such a short time. Then he programmed a remote too. He was so helpful and knew his business. Great employee and a truly nice guy. Great employees are the key to a great business. I will be stopping in there often.

2022-05-20This store is incredible. We bought patio furniture. We wanted it assembled so we needed it in stock. We chose the suffern store even though we live in Fairfield county CT for this reason alone. We were very worried that the patio furniture was not going to fit in my wife’s car and we didn’t want to take the extra long trip twice. This stores team made it their business to make it fit absolutely perfectly. The store manager Burnell is a puzzle master. We wanted to tip the guys, but we didn’t have any cash. I called the store to thank them and see if we could buy them lunch but they were not able to accept due to a policy. I am very thankful for these guys and what they did and feel terrible that a measly thank you and a review is all I could give them. You would think a large chain store could care less about a customer, but these guys changed our minds!

2022-06-14Ace Hardware stays true to their slogan the helpful place. They were amazing.I had just bought a truck at a nearby dealership and it was missing a few bolts. I was 1 day out from moving across the country and needed these bolts. Despite the urgency, the dealership was unwilling/unable to identify the dimensions of the bolts. So we hauled over to the Ace Hardware.We walked in and Saun immediately pointed us over to Clay. I showed Clay the bolt I needed and he walked us around the store with the speed of lightning, the professionalism of the secret service, and the knowledge of someone who has a PhD in bolts. We got a handful of different bolts and tried them out. By process of elimination, we had narrowed the correct dimensions but the store was closing in 5 minutes and we still had to get the correct length and buy all 12.We ran back in. Saun noticed our urgency and grabbed the bolts that we described and came out to the truck with us to make sure they installed correctly. He was even out there helping test. Once we found the right bolt, he went back in to help save us time and got the correct number of each bolt we needed. They kept the store open slightly later and everyone was still helpful, polite, and seemed like they really only cared that it was finally solved.We installed everything in the parking lot. The trip was saved. I was now driving a truck that had all the bolts it should (big win for feeling safe in the car). My wife decided to stay with me. Everything was perfect. Ace Hardware was truly the helpful place. Big shout out to Clay and Saun.

2022-05-06Went in to shop for several items, one being 10-10-10 fertilizer. I checked Ace Website to be sure that it was in stock and the website confirmed it was available at Ace in Suffern. I get there and was advised by a young male sales help that he never heard of it and didnt know what I was talking about. I advised him it is on Aces website as In Stock. I tried to explain what it is and he abruptly told me that he knows what it is. He looks on his personal cell phone and finds a picture of some brand of fertilizer and asks if thats it, and I told him yes but thats not the brand on your website. He responds by abruptly informing me that Ace never had it. I decided not to argue any longer and tried to leave. He at that point calls someone and asks if they have it and is told that they do. He yells at me and says We have it. I declined it and left. The point of my leaving this review is that , once again, after many times trying to shop here, I was treated badly. I get it, Im older but that does not give anyone the right to disrespect me. I am a lifelong gardener, know my fertilizer, and am also a lifelong resident of the Village of Suffern. From this point on, I will travel for miles to get the items I want and to be treated with respect. I refuse to give my hard-earned money to Ace in Suffern. Courtesy training for your employees is an immediate requirement.

2022-03-07I honestly don’t know if all ace hardware‘s are like this one but it’s the best one I’ve ever seen it’s the largest and more than anything they have literally overstaffed this hardware store which makes it incredibly easy for you to pop in and get what you need really fast.They also have a pretty good rewards program and give coupons monthly to loyal customers and convenient for people in New Jersey where stores are closed on Sundays

2022-01-13Ordered a SLEIGH SHOVEL !!big plastic with metal tip... did A minusbut good enough a 120 foot asphalt driveway!!so i helped do my neighbors as well.back to Ace.. are all acesclean, professional outfit and FRIENDLY associates. they actually help customersDan was the man.. wow hope he becomes District manager !!!!

2022-01-07Went to get my order ( a sleigh shovel ) and like other ACE Hardware stores... wow . wow service that home Depot never cares to provide. A youngman named Dan was so helpful.I am not surprized.. the other Ace store same sameawesome people !!!loved it ( again )

2021-11-23A great place for Bergen County residents to go on Sunday when everything else is closed. Surprisingly huge on the inside with two floors. Much easier to shop and then the Home Depot… And for some items their products are far superior.
