If I could give this place less than one star, I would. The drinks were the worst cocktails I have had in my entire life. Don’t know if they have an beer, because I don’t drink beer, but if I were to go again (for the awesome views), I’d definitely ask for a beer because the cocktails are undrinkable.
Great open spaced bar/dining area at the Top of the Rock. I definitely would recommend going here instead of the observation deck as the price for a drink here is usually less than the ticket price, with the same views. We went in for a drink, however a waiter seated us at a dining table, so we wouldn’t have to stand. We were feeling celebratory so had a bottle of champagne which didn’t disappoint. This is the perfect place to enjoy champagne, if you can’t there, then where? Bathrooms were nicely decorated and clean. It did get very busy as it got later, so I would definitely recommend getting there for opening time or as close to it as possible. We also got to see the sunset by coming around this time.
Albeit we went to the Rainbow Room for a private event, the venue was top notch, with must-see views. Definitely an iconic NYC landmark, the Rainbow Room is at the top of the Rockefeller Center. The service left a little to be desired, though... As it appeared the bar staff were all long time employees, probably part of a union, so no incentive to serve faster or put in more effort for better customer service.
Great experience.Save the admission fee for the top of the rock and buy yourself a free cocktails in the iconic rainbow Room bar 65.The drinks are amazing and the view is incredible. The staff have about as much personality as a piece of dry toast, but dont let that distract you from what is otherwise an incredible night out.
The place is beautiful with some amazing views of the city. I was in fact expecting a better quality on food.I was really disappointed by Cacio e Pepe which is definitely not what it should be called. Fries were good, quinoa sliders wereok.Overall good experience.I would suggest to make a reservation.
Jaw dropping views of the city we all love, can just go right to the classy and modern bar and have a standing drink and soak in the sights or you can reserve a seated table in the comfy leather booths for small groups and couple and have food and drinks while watching New York City from high above. My party of 3 went here to warm up after strolling through Rockefeller Center.
A magical experience! I was impressed with the service we received at the bar and during our dining experience. However, the Bar SixtyFive staff who made arrangements for my party, and particularly Bibis professionalism and ability to make the night even more special and memorable, exceeded my expectations.Such a commitment to great customer service is to be commended. You can be sure that I will continue to do business with the Rainbow Room establishment for years to come.
Fantastic view and the decor in the restaurant/bar is brilliant. I had the cured and dried meats platter which was delicious but the service from our waitress was non-existent and spent most of her time serving a table which looked like they were spending a lot of money. Only spoke to her twice, once to order and another for the bill.
One of the unbelievably underrated places in NYC. This bar is literally right next to the Rockefeller center observation deck, but here you dont have to pay to go up, it is a nirmal bar, but it has the wonderful view of the city at the 65th floor. The catch is, no children are allowed, and you have to have a reservation if you want to dine there, oh and you have to be wearing at least a business casual attire, and no sandals, shorts, or flip flops are allowed. Otherwise, go up and enjoy the view and the great drinks.
I went to a wedding at the Rainbow Room last night. The wedding was well planned out. Our dinner options were filet mignon and fish. One of our friends got sick and needed to go home, so my friend escorted him home and came back. When he was gone, dinner was served and the server actually offered with her own initiative to keep the food warm until my friend came back. Not many people would notice or care, but the servers at the Rainbow Room did. When my friend was back, I didnt even have to flag down any of the servers because within a few minutes his plate was in front of him, kept warm. This was a great experience overall and I would definitely come back.
RUN. I usually give places the benefit of the doubt, but the Rainbow Room was such an awful experience from start to finish that I had to share.Mothers day brunch reservation for 2:15pm was made a month in advance (April 16), confirmed via email that we would eat in the rainbow room. Entire cost of the brunch was $161.10 per person, paid in advance, no refunds.----- THE WAITING ------ Our family STOOD FOR OVER AN HOUR in a CROWDED room with over 50 people, waiting for a table. NO COVID safety/social distancing was enforced.- My elderly mom has bad legs, but there were only about 5 chairs in the entire waiting space. She managed to find a seat after standing for the majority of the hour.- The process was mayhem. There was no time limit for dining, so it was VASTLY OVERBOOKED and reservations were running late. They said they would call you if your table opened up, but it was so crowded that it was impossible to hear if your time was called unless you were near the hostess.- After the hostess called our reservation time, we went up the elevator only to wait in a SECOND LINE for an ADDITIONAL 30 minutes right outside the restaurant. Everyone was starving and luckily there were some desserts that folks were able to scavenge and eat near the elevators.- After 1.5 hours of waiting (~4pm), we didnt even get seated in the RAINBOW ROOM; instead we were given Bar SixtyFive. The Rainbow Room wouldve required an additional wait (for an unknown amount of time), and after waiting 1.5 hours for a late BRUNCH RESERVATION, we were fed up and decided to take the table. We were so upset by the long wait that we expected at least a good service. Sadly this couldnt have been further from the truth.----- THE SERVICE ------ The meal was family-style, but they gave us NO SERVING UTENSILS. Even before the pandemic, you wouldnt scoop a shared chicken pot pie with your own personally used utensils. We had to ask for serving utensils for each course.- The waiter would take our used utensils but not give us new ones, so sometimes it would be impossible to eat unless we hailed down someone.- Waiter barely came to check on us, so we needed to ask service from others.- Waiter never let us know that we could order coffee/tea with our dessert. We had to request it ourselves after seeing/smelling it at the other tables.- To-go boxes did not have matching lids, so we needed to request for rubber bands to make sure the containers would stay somewhat closed.----- THE FOOD -----It was average. I usually dont expect much from touristy places that pride themselves on the view.----- THE GOOD ------ Complimentary small bouquets of flowers in paper bags were offered- Complimentary champagne was served (upon request) for a few waiting outside the restaurant- Small desserts can be taken home (or in our case, eaten before the meal)We really wanted to love the Rainbow Room. We were having a joint engagement and Mothers day celebration with both sets of parents, eating together at a restaurant for the first time since the pandemic. My parents drove 2 hours just for this occasion, and we arrived at the Rainbow Room 15 minutes early to check in. If we were seated on time, we even wouldve been able to catch the view before it rained. It was so surprising that a renowned establishment would make these seemingly obvious management errors.I would have felt better about the experience if any of these were the case:- Established time limit for dining- Offer refunds, especially for terrible experience- Offer seats for long waits, especially for elderly parents on Mothers Day- Provide snacks/champagne/water for waiting guests without request- Enforce social distancing and keeping others from cutting the line- Attentive waiter and/or good service
The food was good but the eating experience around it wasnt great. It felt rushed, would definitely go back for drinks though.Saw people in there without collared shirts but probably best to wear one to be on the safe side.Theres a 1 drink minimum if youre going up.Book ahead for a table and you bypass the queue, or at least we did.Amazing views all round.
Appealing to tourists, myself being one. If you make a reservation, you can avoid the wait. Also, you can get a table and not just hang in the center standing area. Drink selection is good, fries are tasty. Views are nice, as one would expect from high rises in Manhattan.
WOW what an amazing space - the views are superb and the food was really really nice. The staff are very tentative and helpful and it had a nice vibe (We went on a Sunday (late afternoon / early evening meal). It can however get very loud as you are sitting in quite close proximity to the table next to you, so take note. Its a must to book in advance as tables get booked up very quickly.

Extraordinary! The Rockerfeller Centre is a beautiful building and I was there to see the gorgeous ice rink placed at the front and was fortunate enough to be able to go inside and have dinner. I loved every bit of it. Delicious and I would definitely go back if I had the chance.
Brunch here was the most wonderful way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was delicious - bacon, seafood, desserts, crepes- all of it was delicious. The staff was incredibly nice, from the reception hosts at the base of the super fast elevator to our kind and amazing servers, Rafael. He explained everything, shared with us his favorite items on the menu and even brought us a special dessert for our anniversary. He made our morning so special. The room is beautiful- gorgeous views even on and overcast day, decorated in muted gray and crystal touches everywhere. The musical performers were great. The only disappointment was that there was no dancing- that is my misconception, but still, I was looking for to dancing. Please take a moment to dress in something special- seeing folks dining in such a beautiful place dressed in sweats and sneakers was disappointing.
Had drinks here one evening before dinner. The drinks are pricey, but you pay for the unbelievable view of Manhattan looking south from midtown and the feeling like you are living the NYC dream, if only for one drink.I love G&Ts, so I got the rainbow room classic G&T. It was an great cocktail, almost worth the $21. When youre able, step outside onto the observation deck and enjoy the skyline, especially at sunset. Its a real treat for this to be public in such a world class city.
Been going here for special events for decades. Now, only for their brunch that used to be spectacular. The view is still terrific, but the quality of the brunch has gone downhill while the price keeps going up. Many on the staff have been there for years and are great people. Hope they dont lose out while management screws up.
Brunch at The Rainbow Room was everything I imagined it would be. It is elegant dining with a spectacular view of New York City. The food is exquisite with a variety of delicious cheeses from all around the world, meats marinated to perfection, fresh fruits and deserts, honey on the honeycomb, exotic juice blends, and of course delightful choices from the menu and bar. The food in and of itself is worth the price, and dining at such a distinctive beautiful place is an ethereal experience. The chairs and table cloths are silver, crystals shine in long windows, the jazz band was exceptional, and the servers clearly like their work and take great pride in their profession. I felt like royalty while dining here and would recommend this extraordinary restaurant for a special occasion or to simply have an unforgettable dining experience. It is easy to see why this glamorous place is so renowned.
The view was amazing! The staff was great. We came here to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. We made a reservation and arrived early. From the moment we walked in the door everyone treated us as royalty up until we were seated and our server took over. My husband and I do not drink so we ordered water, she seemed to lose interest with us quickly. We waited 15 minutes and she never returned but visited the table next to us several times. We ended up leaving without eating. Or getting our water. Disappointed at the end, but it turned out for the best. We ended up with amazing pictures from their balcony and had an amazing dinner somewhere else.
Wow, food here was weak at best and service was lousy. Ordered risotto, no grated cheese to go with it. Cheese finally comes and none for my partner. Didnt even offer us drinks! Dessert should have been interesting, but just tasted weird. (Called a banana split I believe). Of course the place is member only, so as a business you have access, but you really dont want to bring clients here.
The most magical dinning experience Ive ever had. It is absolutely extraordinary to be in a historic, IMPORTANT, place with memories dripping from the walls.... Surrounded by the most luxurious and tasteful interiors, but then knowing you are IN THE SKY. Looking out over the city and Central Park. Brings tears to my eyes! I came here the day after my wedding and was more moved by the restaurant than I was my ceremony! (Just kidding hubs!)
This is a much better way to visit an elevated view of the city than paying the absurd $30+ dollars for the top of the rock observation deck. Being 65 floors up and paying $9, you can get a nice cider and sit down in a fancy restaurant while enjoying the incredible views of the city. In good weather, the outdoor deck is open to eat on ($65 minimum) and walk outside once you get a drink. You can also grab some food and more expensive drinks, but I go up there to buy an inexpensive drink with great views. Try to make reservations before going up as it can get packed in there. Reservations also allow you to get a seat while if you walk up, you will have to stand without views as good.
This is the best way to experience Rockefeller Center. Instead of going to the top of the rock, waiting in line, and being subjected to hoardes of people...simply order a drink in the bar at the Rainbow Room and enjoy the same view from 2 floors down--youll probably even save money. They also offer reserved tables on the terrace for an especially quiet vantage point. Be warned there is a minimum spend of $65 per person at the reserved tables--but a drink or two and an appetizer hits the minimum pretty quick.
Come for the view. The food and some of the service is really terrible. If the weather is great, request the main Rainbow Room or they may try to stick you in the Tiki room where the pricing and menu are identical but the ambiance pales in comparison. I had two major blunders with the hosts of both rooms. Both issues were deliberate and they behaved like they couldn’t care less.
The service really wasnt great-especially given the price. The downstairs hostess wanted us both to check our purses-which were not oversized. She finally agreed to allow us to take one in. We saw others there with larger bags-felt like someone had a little too much power and it went to their head.I had much better service a couple of weeks ago when I took a colleague. We brought our computer bags up and had a attentive waiter. I had expected the same experience this trip. I guess its hit or miss.
Viewing deck was closed with no explanation. Had a Bronx cocktail. It was the worst cocktail I have ever been served. The bar tender knocked the first batch all over the bar then proceeded to concoct the most vile potion ever served. I couldnt drink it as it literally burned all the way down. I am Scottish therefore I am built to withstand the strongest of beverage but this was absolutely disgusting. On a plus side, the views were incredible. Thats about it!
The rainbow room was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We were treated like royalty. The service was amazing I cant say enough about this place. White Glove service with dinner. food that is out of this world amazing if youre a foodie. Put this on your bucket list for when you go to New York you wont regret it!
Booked table to celebrate wife’s 40th birthday. The view is breathtaking and the setting is plush. The cocktails were varied and tasty. The whole experience was let down by really poor standard of food, which was grossly overpriced. The menu promises but fails to deliver. We ordered a lobster and scallop dish and received what can only be described as a puréed mouse hotdog on a brioche bun, with a side dish of thousand island dressing. Not nice. Definitely worth a visit for cocktails, but the food is to be avoided at all cost.
Had a bad oyster with a moving worm. And the manager didnt do anything to show their apologize except a cup of green tea. Maybe because Im Asian. She thought its fine to treat me and friend like this. Cant believe $162 buffet has this low quality of food. And it was Fathers Day. What would happen if a father had this oyster? Really a big surprise! Extra protein!
Not since The Windows on the World existed have we had such an extravagant, beautiful, glamorous, delicious, and, yes, extraordinarily expensive brunch option in NYC. This is not your ordinary weekend brunch spot but, rather, a place for special celebrations or once-in-a-lifetime visits to NYC to experience the beautiful views over Manhattan, the glamour and charm of 1940s New York, and the beautiful, abundant, and decadent food. There is also live music (which was outstanding) at every brunch which varies from week to week but all of which has that 40s vibe.We went recently for an 80th birthday celebration and had 3 generations of our family there. Though children over 12 are considered adults, they kindly only charged my two teenagers (15 and 17) the child price of $65 (adults are $125 per person). My 12 year old, who has multiple food allergies and who, therefore, did not eat any of the food they served (I brought all of his for him) was served free-flowing beverages at no charge (I did let them know of his situation in advance). Also, my 2 older children have life-threatening food allergies to all peanuts, tree nuts, and sesame. I informed the restaurant a few days in advance. They could not have been more wonderful. The chef personally spoke to us about options from the menu that were ok for them, the pastry chef came out at dessert time and went through every single dessert option on the buffet (it is enormous) and told them every item they could have and what they could not have. Our waiter was fabulous and took extra care to make sure they were comfortable with the food being served and made sure to give lots of attention to my youngest because he could tell being in such a food-crazy environment had to have been tough on him.And lets not forget about the very demanding 80 year old birthday boy who frequently takes issue with restaurants. He was pleased as punch and had the most wonderful birthday. He was especially happy to see how caring the entire staff was toward his grandchildren. If you live in the NYC area and want a really special experience or, if youre visiting and want a taste of an iconic New York City experience, get online or pick up the phone and make your reservation now! Not to be missed!
Top-notch restaurant bathed in opulence and gleaming like a jewel atop its crown on the 65th floor of Rockefeller Center. We enjoyed a first-class birthday brunch for my wife. From the delectable offerings available fom the buffet, fresh oysters, crab legs, blinis and smoked salmon, pancakes, crackling bacon, fresh fruit juices. The abundance and variety is impressive. We both enjoyed our richly, flavorful eggs Benedict and desserts. This is a special restaurants that pulls out the stops and will both entertain and delight you with its beautiful surroundings, immaculate presentation and delicious food.
DINE & DANCE THE NIGHT AWAYAnd take a Hansom carriage ride Through Central Park! I have several once in a lifetime events..this was my favorite! 💋DRINK 🍷 IN THE VIEWS..NIGHT OR DAY, 💎 ITS STUNNING!!Make a weekend of it - Dine & Dance, and return for Brunch.🍷🍷My College BFF had a December wedding, and her Mom catered a small reception at the Rainbow Room...it was really so special.. their band was spectacular and the Rooftop turns and it was just one of the most glamorous and spectacular evenings & weddings Ive ever experienced..I thought nothing would top my college graduation party at Top of the World, at the Twin Towers ...but Karens wedding , and my graduation party, are very special and phenomenal on their own..so many happy memories . You need to dine, & dance the night away at least once in your life! 🍷
My wife and I had Sunday Brunch here, and walked away somewhat disappointed. Our friend works in the kitchen, and it is our tradition to have a meal at every one of his restaurants, or to treat him to places he aspires to work. Usually, we have a very pleasant experience. However, at the Rainbow Room, we were unfortunately underwhelmed. The pricing at the Rainbow Room seems very good on paper. $125 per head, not including drinks, tax, or gratuity. The menu is all-you-can-eat, with a bevy of buffet and a-la-carte options. However, we found ourselves disappointed.First, the positives, as there were a few. The views from the reception area where you wait before your table is ready are extraordinary. You get breathtaking southern views of Manhattan, with the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, and Freedom Tower all on full display, as well as the Statue of Liberty, downtown Brooklyn, and the Verazano Bridge. If you have the fortune of getting an outside (meaning close to a window) table, you get to enjoy a great look at the city. We were not lucky enough to be near a window.Second, the bacon bar is amazing. Slow-cooked pork belly, smoked turkey, a lightly candied bacon, and a great cut of Canadian bacon were all delicious and available in heaps. Unfortunately, the one server gets a bit overwhelmed by everybody swarming him.Sadly, it all went downhill from there. The juice bar was good, though the fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juices tasted suspiciously like Tropicana or Simply Orange juices. Still refreshing, but you can taste fresh squeezed and this was either packaged juice that was rebranded, or had been squeezed a few days ago and preserved. We ended our visit on a low note. The cheesecake we had for our small dessert was some of the worst we had ever eaten. It was flavorless, with a bitter aftertaste that was very unpleasant. It placed a damper on the meal, as the bitter aftertaste was cloying and hard to get out of our mouths. The final reason for the 2 stars though is the poor value. We have no qualms about spending on food, but taken as a whole, the Rainbow Room was bad value. For $125 per person, the food was mediocre and the experience forgettable. The restaurant felt like a white-collar tourist trap, where we were paying the mark-up just to be there. All things included, we paid $350 for brunch; that amount of money, even in the NYC fine dining scene, goes a long way at some other top-caliber restaurants. Unless you really, really have to go to this restaurant, pay $80 to go to the top of the Freedom Tower with the luxury passes, then go out for a great lunch nearby. Itll be the better experience.
The view from the bar was so beautiful⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, BUT people need to be aware that in winter time when temperature is below 50•F then they don’t open the outdoor section and just you pay high price drink and stand , staff also just okIf they informed earlier at the reception then that would be great!!Me & my husband little disappointed, couldn’t capture the the beautiful view of nyc which we went to see😬😬
It was a pleasure curating a custom wedding ceremony for Alyssa + Andy, sticking to their wedding rehearsal schedule and providing a spectacular custom ceremony on their wedding day. 620 Loft & Garden is an absolutely beautiful space that has so much to offer. The staff is very professional and helpful. This is THE place to get married in New York City. I adore officiating weddings in their space. I had the honor of connecting my bride and groom to a casting director of a wedding tv show that features the process of picking the ideal wedding venue and I was pleased that they were chosen right away! I am almost certain this wedding will be featured in a top wedding publication. This is what it means to be MARRIED by REV ROXY ;)
This is the most beautiful dining room Ive ever seen! It isnt often that I find places worth the hype, but walking out of the elevator on the 65th floor and entering through the french doors of a bright white room with round tables and crisp linens, observing men in white coats polishing crystal stemware made me feel like Anastasia... or Annie! Lol. It was a sensory overload in the best possible way. I arrived during breakfast and neo classical jazz was playing in the background, and it happened to be raining, so the chandeliers seemed to glisten even brighter in contrast to the melancholy blue grey skyline blurred behind raindrops on the panoramic windows. Every texture seems lush. Every detail considered... I cant wait to return for cocktails after 5pm when the bar opens!
Views, views, views! If this bar doesnt put you in a New York state of mind, nothing will.Call ahead for a reservation. You want a window table at either the North or South facing side.Order the Diablo from the bar. Dress up for cryin out loud. Swing to the right as you walk by the host before you leave for an outdoor patio view.Youre welcome.
Im toadly in love with their service but for food and its excusable because omo naija I be. Oyinbo no get food oohIt was baes birthday so I made reservation for 2 within 48hrs.got a late evening reservation tho. Their response time is commendable and I was wowed when all of their staff right from the red carpet to the bar wished him a happy birthday. We also got champagne on the house...I guess it was our lucky day!
What can be said about this place was it expensive not really the views were worth the price of our dinner alone if there were a moan its that while your dining the middle is for people to just have a drink but they keep coming over to the windows for photo shoots think that should be stopped and for diners only that said the view should and could be shared better if they had a time for this that may already be in place but service great and food also thanks for the time and experience

2022-03-06The Rainbow room is a storied event venue on the 67th floor of the Rockefeller tower. Very elegant and nighttime views are fabulous. As one would guess, the catering staff are pleasant and professional. The food is outstanding, including the best Beef Wellington Ive ever tasted. My wife and I were there for a birthday party and danced to the wee hours. If you get invited...go! If you can afford to put on an event there, you will be happy you selected the Rainbow Room.

2022-02-19The 1990’s want their decor back… this place is dated but the food is good. Service is great but there are thousands of places offering just as good of a dining experience, and many much better. I imagine only unsophisticated diners with limited worldly experience return after the first time. Would only recommend if you need to mark it off a list.

2020-01-02Loved this place because you can enter for free and have almost the same views you would have from the top of the rock observatory. The drinks are kind of expensive but it is cheaper than to buy a ticket to enter the observatory. The only bad thing is that there are no chairs so you have to stand all night. If you want to seat and eat you should reserve a table that are around and close to the windows so you get a better view. Not sure if you have to pay for reservation though.

2019-12-29Such a jewel in the city. The food I had here: Lobster Risotto - is the absolute best meal Ive ever had in my life. So good, truly. You must go there and try for yourself. Some really good drinks, that make sense to try, since its a whole new experience you are in.

2018-07-08Again, it all comes down to atmosphere, service, food. Atmosphere was great, views were amazing. Service was fine, nothing special. Food...we only ordered beverages, and a seafood tower ($90). The seafood tower was just ok. Order something else. Teetering between a 2 and a 3 star.
