Amazing food can’t believe is vegan.. so much flavor and texture… I love this place
Food was okay. The jackfruit tacos were not cooked enough. It was way too expensive and you don’t get that much food. The employees were really nice.
We ordered the Brunch All Day, Can’t believe it’s Birria, and the Skinny Taco Salad.The food tasted great and the staff were really nice. I highly recommend this place.
We tried raiz tacos, Baja tacos, street corn and nuggets and everything was amazing!! The plant based versions here are just as good as the regular. Flavors were on point and staff was super friendly. Would come back.

The staff was incredibly welcoming and the ambiance is great. Highly recommend the sweet potato and kale burrito, which was delicious and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be visiting again!
Im not vegan but my friend showed me this place. The baja taco with mushrooms is AMAZING. If someone gave this to me i wouldve told them it was made with meat it was so good. So much flavor and nice people

Brunch burrito is just outstanding. I got a side of sauce too and the portion was very generous. Food is great, all employees are exceptionally kind, knowledgeable and helpful. The space is not really big, but feels very cozy. You can stay inside, get a little sun outside or take the food to go, I definitely recommend trying it. Yum!
I have never written an online review for anything ever. But I really wanted to give this place its props.Im not a huge carnivore, but Im certainly no vegan or even vegetarian and never have been. I have tried most of the main items on the menu. I crave them in a way that I have never had a craving for non-vegan Mexican food.This place is really worth checking out.

The Raiz burrito was amazing. Not too big, not too small, great balance of flavors. Nice service people. Open air indoor area. Highly recommend. Not cheap, but nowhere in NYC is these days.
I walked by this place a bunch of times before trying it. I was skeptical — I love Mexican food, particularly authentic Mexican food, and I worried the slick branding would be covering up for the food. Plus, I’m not vegan. But this place is awesome. All the ingredients are super fresh, the portion sizes are super generous and filling, and the food is easily the best vegan Mexican I’ve had. It’s become a go to for a healthy lunch. The Baja mushroom tacos and the birria tacos have been a highlight in particular.
I stopped into Raiz for the first time today and cant wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. Almost all of the ingredients are handmade and the owner is very friendly and passionate about the quality, authenticity, and taste.I had the westside burrito and was blown away by the raiz asada in particular. Service was very fast and the space is nicely designed. This may end up being my favorite Mexican restaurant in New York City.

Amazing food (I can’t believe there’s vegan birria!) This place is definitely worth going out of your way for if you’re a vegan taco lover, they’ve perfected a vegan cojita which is exceptional. The sauces are also unique and delicious. Not to mention the service was the best I’ve had in the city. They are very attentive to your order and experience. 10/10 recommend.
You cant do better than this place for fantastic quality Mexican vegan fare that will please any carnivore. In fact, we brought someone, a confirmed meat eater, who couldnt believe it was vegan. He was going to bring in his brother, who has just arrived from Columbus, looking to establish his own restaurant, but wants to have dinner vegan options.
Such good food! Taco Tuesdays is a must. Now that I’m a plant-based eater, I don’t want fake meat. I want fresh ingredients. Raiz has amazing mushrooms and jackfruit dishes with awesome sauces that set everything off. Eat up!!!

Food is always ridiculously tasteful & fresh, The vibe is overall just great there & the owner is the coolest dude ever, amazing staff with impeccable customer service. Kind of loud. Hard to order from phone. Food hurt my tummy later. But tasted good and was a good price for being the only place left where there was space to sit down on a Saturday night. Attendant gave us a big tureen of water for our table. Hand sanitizer on the wall but no bathroom. Fully vegan with fairly realistic faux meat.
Food was OK but a few dollars more than it should be for what it is. Mine came with sauces on the side that were both mayonaise-based that didnt make sense with a burrito and my food was a bit bland. I would have much rather had a normal side like chips and salsa with the burrito to make it worth $14 before tax and tip than vegan ranch or whatever that was. I noticed on my receipt after I left the person who took my order put no mini chilula sauce on my order without asking me if I wanted it or not and it was supposed to come with one. The burrito would probably have tasted better with a little hot sauce on it. There are 3 other vegan Mexican places within walking distance that are better and other taco places with vegan options that are cheaper. It was neat to try a new spot but I dont see myself going back here.
Good food and most of all great company! Very nice atmosphere with nice vegan eats! The staff is amazing!! Had a very warm welcome for my first time here.
I’ve been vegan for almost 7 years, and can say with certainty that Raíz serves one of the best vegan burritos I’ve ever had. Food was absolutely delicious, everyone working there was super wonderful, and the atmosphere is top notch.Would strongly recommend Raíz, I cannot wait to go back again soon to try more of the food!

The place is very cute, the food is amazing, one of the best mexican i have ever had! If you are vegan it is the best experience, if you are not..you will be surprized! BEST (vegan) Mexican food ever, everything is absolutely delicious. So well seasoned and fresh ingredients onlyyy! The owner, Nick, has created such a welcoming and friendly environment. Yzabella was also the sweetest server. All the hype is well worth it, you won’t be disappointed. Come thru!!

Very nice staff and amazing Food. We went there with our two daughters and they even let out Bischon-poodle inside. We orders the Nachos, cauliflower bites and 4 different burritos. Everything was excellent. Definitely worth it.

Alright, ive been to this aWeMaZiNG spot 3 times and they are on point! All 3 times ive gotten the magickal sweet potato & kale burrito and it was consistent! Try all of their sauces too!

Gem of a spot serving delicious vegan tacos that are better than or just as good as tacos made with meat. Vegan food has come a long way in competition and its places like Raiz that show that food can be well-sourced and absolutely mind blowing. This is my go to spot for healthy great tasting tacos. Its like a ninja mind trick. It looks like meat and tastes even better than meat but its not meat. AMAZING. The best vegan food Ive ever tasted. You have to try this place it will blow your mind. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. The food is absolutely amazing, I’m not vegan but it tastes better than non vegan tacos. I also ordered from doordash and my driver was running late and these guys offered to have their chef deliver it to me and then threw in some extra churros! Unparalleled customer service and phenomenal food I’ll definitely be ordering again

2022-07-12So happy we found this place at East Village!! The flavors and textures of everything we ordered (Baja tacos, lunch all day burrito and sweet potato & kale burrito) are amazing, taste so good and we cant believe it is vegan! My teen boys and I were all blown away!! Warm and friendly service. Must try in NYC Vegan or not! (Taco Tuesdays the tacos are half off).

2022-04-17Seriously delicious. Came all the way to NYC for the vegan food, and Raíz NYC did not disappoint. I haven’t had pastor tacos since going vegan 5 years ago, and it was just as I remember, but better. Service was amazing as well! Our server gave great recommendations and was super sweet! Definitely stop in! Your stomach will thank you.

2022-07-16+ The vegan food was amazing! I loved everything I ordered and the queso tasted like real queso.+ The server was very friendly and there is indoor/outdoor seating. The prices were fair & the restaurant was clean. :)- Only wished there was a public bathroom, so I could have washed my hands.

Im not vegan or vegetarian and I have to say that this place was definitely better than most other Mexican spots! Definitely a must try if youre in the area!Also the the people who run the place/work there are very friendly too. Can never go wrong with that in the bag

I found this place because I always check my ✨ Happy Cow App✨for updates of places I can go give my 💰💵 to that cater to my style of eating😄😎.Before I dive into that I want to give the ✨host/cashier/waiter✨ a compliment for being super professional, patient and just having all around great customer service with someone like me who had a gazillion questions.I kept it cute and only got the Baja tacos, cauliflower bites(the container with the sauce got that way from the heat*) and the side kale/hempseed salad. ALL so good!😋 The presentation of it before eating it was on point too! Next visit I wont keep it cute and Ill get everything that I want😋😄.

2022-04-17Wow! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing! You have to try the street corn, it reminds me of the street corn I had visiting my family in Mexico when I was young and asada fries were so flavorful! The Hale Pastor tacos were some of the best pastor tacos I’ve ever had! You have to try Raiz NYC, you won’t regret it!

2022-07-21Amazing food and great customer service. Im so impressed with the menu and that everything is vegan, you cant even tell. The birria tacos hit it out of the park, and I am so happy to be able to to eat vegan nuggets with my vegetarian friends, also highly recommend checking out their dessert, we loved the mango tajin Gelato. Highly recommend :)

2022-07-23Absolute fire vegan Mexican place. The style is fast casual but they bring you water if you are dining in. We got the Hale Pastor tacos, west side burrito, and raiz burrito. The tacos used seitan and were very flavorfully marinated and cooked. They definitely put a lot of effort/attention into making the veggie meats taste delicious. The west side burrito was California style (duh) and had fries in it. It was a bit dry so I wouldn’t get this one. The Raiz burrito had a spinach wrap and was solid, though I thought a different or a homemade tortilla could’ve been used to up the game. The food comes with a mini cholula bottle as well as salsa/sauce to put on your food.Highly recommend for people who anyone who likes tacos.
