For classic auto shipping be aware of the exclusion Classic Cars - Excluding any motor vehicles over twelve (12) years of age without prior approval from Underwriters in the policy. I received insurance policy but apparently no additional approval by Underwriters. At best they were incompetent, as I clearly specified the vehicles year, at worst they were misleading. Also be aware of the clause about changes to shipping dates, etc within / outside of your control. My shippers changed the shipment date - I didnt advise Ramon, so I was no longer covered. Otherwise, quotes appear competitive, quick turnaround on communication.
Amazing, Quick, Friendly and highly recommended. We ship many containers from Italy to our customers and insure with Ramon Inc. Customer service is their top priority and claims service is super speedy. This is my 5th year insuring with them and its only been a great experience.
Excellent customer service that I noticed only when i had a claim. The claim adjuster immediately contacted me. Ramon Insurance was constantly following up and expediting the process. I received payment and the process was smooth. I like to work with this company because the staff is always patient and nice.

Extremely professional from start to end. Super fast customer service and the best rates I have seen so far. They work directly with the insurance company so their rates are the best without any markups. Highly recommended. I insure all my shipments of sun glasses with them for my company.
Excellent & Reliable customer service. Always very prompt and courteous. The rates are direct from the insurance company so I am not paying any extra mark ups like the other companies. They have been around for many years so my company is very comfortable using them.
I have been working with this company for many years. I had small claims here and there that were promptly handled but recently I had one major claim that Iris Arden assisted me with. She was in touch with the claims adjuster throughout the process. This has been a very pleasant process. Customer service is always top priority for them.

Horrible experience submitting a claim. Beware of this company. They only provide an email address to submit claims, they will not speak to you or confirm receipt of anything over the phone...So you never know if you submitted the right paperwork, did it end up in the correct hands, what are the next steps..Im not even sure if this company is legit. Im resubmitting our claim again as they claimed to never receive it the first time, they wont provide any info over the phone and so again Im again left wondering. Depending on how this goes, Ill be submitting a BBB against this group...So please be leery and really know what you can expect if you actually need them. They were great at the start, great customer service, but now that you need them, theyre no where to be seen. Id love to hear from someone who actually had a positive claim experience...Im doubting there is anyone out there that has. I am happy to provide all the rather rude emails exchanged between myself, Iris and other Ramon members so you can see what you may run up against should you select this group. Ive posted to BBB as well. Im happy to share all exchanged emails so youre not duped...I doubt Iris Arden (owner) would offer the same. Just read Yelp reviews.. Being a Canadian and shipping a small container in the US was a bit of a challenge. Canadian companies will not cover shipping service with a starting point in the U.S.Ramon coverage of the Insurance was really easy to aquire and made my experience so much easier and comforting knowing that i was covered just encase something went wrong.I would highly recommend Ramon for your shipping insurance coverage needs, very proffesional, easy to deal with and prompt service all a winning combination.
High End and unique operation managed by Iris Arden. The companys online portal that generates policies in seconds saves so much time and allows us to provide coverage to our customers instantly. They are the only one that have direct rates which are net any fees or markup. The president is an underwriter and highly respected in the industry. They were recommended by publicity traded company who we trust and ship for many years.
I would have done zero stars. I sought out this company to provide a one time cargo insurance. They first would not not do it with a $2500 deductible. Then when I was forced to change shipping carriers I requested a refund. The quick answer was no. So I requested a change in the name of the shipper on the certificate. Again the quick answer was no.In short this company has no interest in looking out for any of your interests...-only its own bottom line!Use this company at your own peril.Addition:Below they say I ordered the insurance two months before I canceled it. That my friends is fraud. Did not happen. In fact I bought the boat after January 1 st, the insurance a week later and as of this review revision today is only January 22 nd. My first review was more than a week ago. Very difficult to work out the two months they try to state. The fact they are stating shows this is not a company you want any part of.
I have been insuring domestic and international cargo with Ramon for about 4 years now and average about 5 transactions a week. Glad I got the insurance. After arriving at the destination city, my expensive amp spent 4 days going in circles because UPS was trying to deliver after hours. I had to contact UPS to arrange earlier delivery. When it finally was delivered, all the speaker connectors on the amp were broken due to droppage. Luckily Bryston repaired the damage at no cost to me and I didnt need to file a claim.
I have been working with Ramon International for many years and recently had a major claim which was handled smoothly and extremely fast. I received updates regarding the status and was notified of any documents that were missing throughout the process. Friendly staff and extremely accommodating always greet me on the phone. I already recommended 3 companies to them.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL ABOUT THIS COMPANY!!! I have to be very cautious about what I say because they did not reply to any of my emails but once I stated that I would make sure that I let others know of their fraud operation; they stated that if I say anything, they would hire an attorney. So I will state the facts.... I hired this company to protect my local move. I had an item damaged and one item that was missing. After going back and forth with the moving company, I contacted the insurance company and after several emails, I finally got a response. They asked me to provide documentation that the moving company DOES NOT PROVIDE CUSTOMERS; I faxed every single document that I was given from the moving company, I cannot produce documentation that was not given to me and would not be provided by the moving company. I called some other companies and they are unaware of what they are asking for; please be careful with this company; they require documentation that they know is not provided by moving companies to simply deny all claims. Since this experience I have done some research and there is much evidence of scam insurance companies and this company is not the piece of mind that you need, I was given false promise of security. The employee that I had the most recent contact actually threatened me several times and its evident from previous post that this is a tactic this company uses frequently. We have used Ramon Insurance a couple of times in the last couple of months. Very reasonable pricing. I no longer have to pay for the higher pricing of the freight companies to insure our shipments.
Prompt quote that was very competitive. Prompt responses to emailed questions. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was because they told me at the last minute that my cargo had to be professionally packed even though I had said it was owner packed when I got the quote. I had to delay my shipment to go and get it professionally packed. Otherwise, excellent service.
Simply put, Iris Arden and her experienced Team are the most professional and knowledgeable cargo insurance brokers in the Country. These folks know their business and their experience and expertise saves money! 5 Stars all the way!

2021-07-08I was assigned the task of locating a third party insurer as Fedex, the courier we were using for our large shipment was way too expensive. I was so surprised at the ease of the entire process!! Minus the one or two questions I had which they were quick to respond and extremely helpful the ENTIRE process was so simple and clear. I was really impressed and would definitely consider them again. As another reviewer mentioned, I cant comment on any experiences on collecting on the insurance. I would hope that they would provide the same customer service...

2020-11-18Was in desperate need for additional Transit insurance for shipping items from my The UPS Store franchise that exceeded my $50K limits. Had local firms searching for excess coverage for weeks; no takers from any brokers they deal with. Did a Google search for transit insurance and Ramon was the first that popped up. Gave them a call, worked with Connie, who knew exactly what I was needing, and had very reasonable quotes the same day. Shared with my shipping customer and said to lets go with it! Worked out beautifully... so simple, too! Would definitely be using them again anytime our stores need to ship anything and the coverage is beyond our $50K limits! They were great!

2021-01-14Someone at work handed off to me the task of finding an insurer for a shipment we were doing through Fedex. I had NEVER done anything like this before and was in over my head. I Googled third party insurers and called several who could not cover the cost of the loss until I came upon Ramon Insurance. They were so professional and cost effective and made the process of acquiring the insurance so easy. It was as if they were holding my hand through the whole transaction. I do have to say that luckily for all concerned the items delivered safely so, although I cant speak to Ramons handling of a loss, I trust that they would be as helpful, kind and easy to work with even in that case. If we ever need third party insurance again, I will go to Ramon.

2019-04-25My company was looking for some kind of shipping insurance for using a couple of times a month. I found Ramon online and sent in a request and within minutes I received a phone from a very knowledgeable and nice representative. Ramon was able to help with the occasional shipment for a very reasonable price. I am very pleased with their support and follow up and will be using them when we ship.

2017-06-14I have worked w/Ramon Insurance for many years placing coverage for all kinds of risks from very small to very large. Iris Arden & her experienced staff are quite experienced and get the job done. They have relationships w/almost all of the insurance markets both in the US and overseas which enables them to get the very best deal for their customers. The claim staff and handling is excellent as well. Ramon Insurance is a true pleasure to work with.

2019-10-08I had never dealt with them before but when I called, the person who answered was very helpful and easy to deal with. I provided the info, was emailed a quote soon after, and a few days later when I accepted the quote and filled out the actual form to buy the insurance, it was also very easy and quick. A short time later a policy was emailed to me. Very easy, professional, and I will use them again when I need to insure equipment I ship.

2016-10-07I found Ramon International online after another on-line insurance company denied the coverage. My shipment ( crated Fine Art ) pick up was scheduled on Friday and I called Ramon International on Thursday afternoon. Iris Arden sent me the form to fill out within few minutes and stayed in touch until Ive got certificate of insurance .The whole process was fast and friendly. 5 stars. I will use their service again.
