Low key, nothing crazy, good ppl.Surprisingly awesome, their tent sites are very nice, access to the river is great. We camped there to spend a day at Gore Mt. and just had the best time.I’m sorry I don’t have a picture of the actual camp ground, but If ur looking for a gem I’d vouch the Rancho Pines.
The owners, I only interacted with wife were very kind and accomodating. The campground is very clean and quiet. We had only one major issue and the owner took care of it immediately and went above and beyond for us. If you are looking for a quiet place where you can enjoy quiet and solitude rather than kids all over the place, loud drinkers and people inconsiderate of neighbors this is the place for you. We stayed inone of the 2 cabins which was what you would expect of a campground cabin....would love to go back again with a camping trailor or 5th wheel for a writers retreat and/or rest and relaxation.
My husband and I went to Rancho Pines for our first time camping experience and let me tell you...we will NOT go anywhere else! From the minute Tina answered the phone until we left, we received nothing but positive, professional, and pleasant. We had a tent space right by the river and we enjoyed an array of activities from canoeing to karaoke with the gang. We will be back! Its affordable, quaint, and clean
Great people, relaxing place and beautiful pine trees are part of this campground. This is actually our first stop in the US and weve been greeted with smiles. There are some farmers markets not too far from the campground for fresh produces. You have internet access at the reception (not on campground) but its quite decent.AT&T is week on the cell signal (forget about T-Mobile).This is a really quiet place but there is one weekend during the year where you need to be for party and its during the Weekend of August 9th where around 300 people get together to feast on pig roast and share old sports car stories. Get ready to see some smoke from tire burns!
Great Family campground..No kids on golf carts till all hours nearly running people down.Great activities.. Bathrooms and showers immaculate.Pool Clean,Pet Friendly Love the dirt roads and all the Trees.Best one we have ever stayed at in NY.. Old time feeling of the woods and nature.Easy Set up and cable included..
No Stars! After speaking with the campground twice and having the cabin described in detail, I mailed my deposit check for a 2br cabin for July 4th Weekend. I later received a call from the campground stating they had me reserved for an RV with a pullout couch, not the cabin. Theyre either very stupid or extremely deceptive, either way steer clear.I also asked that they mail my check back so I could ensure it was properly disposed of, but I havent received that either and my bank says itll be $35 to cancel it.
Horrible !!! Horrible!! The mold on the trees were so abundant I actually got sick... a terrible sinus headache.... The sewer hook-up was above ground and held together with duck tape... This was the first time my husband got dirty emptying the black water !!! The pine needles on the sites were ankle deep... you could not even see the ground... We were booked for 2 nights and only stayed one b/c of the awful conditions!!!
Terrible terrible terrible!! we were looking for a quiet camping weekend and what we got was the complete opposite. the campground is right on a road right off the highway you hear trucks all night! there was only one bathroom at the camp store close to our site which was right next to the entrance of the campground so we decided to leave early when we went to request our money back we were denied not once but twice! I would never go back here and never recommend anyone to ever!
Absolutely terrible camp ground. The owner ray lacks even the simplest hospitality skills. Do not waste your money here, they dont care about people just money. We were visiting and went up and unmarked road. THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MARKED NO ACCESS. And popped a tire on some metal sticking out from the owners crappy trailer. There should have been a sign. So we called triple a and got everything situated. Apparently having a flat inconvenienced them so much that they asked who we were visiting not to come back. Good. Alot of people wont be coming back. Shame on you.
Awful experience ... Started our stay with breakers continously tripping....owners are rude and cater to their friends.....very unprofessional business owners......owners have a friend in campground whom have dogs that he can not control..owners have been made aware that dog owners have no control but guess it will take someone dog or child being seriously injured or even killed...his two BIG dogs attacked my dog while he was leashed in our site.... Owners husband (while i was explaining what took place).....told me to shut my mouth!!!!not a very safe place for children or your pets.....very unprofessional business owners!!! Left after one night without an apology!!!! Or even an offer of a refund after paying for a weekend stay but leaving after one night!
Wow! Not sure who is doing their reviews but this is not a place we would ever come back to! You have to maneuver around trees on the main drive in and it is very tight! People stand and watch to see if you can do it to. Then you get to your site where you sink down in and all the hook ups are at the back of the site,so make sure to pack extra, if you hook up from the side.

2021-09-19Do yourself a favor dont do it. The website says pet friendly so we booked a cabin. At the time of this review, nowhere on there site does it say no pets in the cabins. After booking, they tell us no pets. They dont refund your full amount because of a booking fee. We decide to use the booking fee as camping and set up our hammocks for a couple of days. When we arrive at 10p there were drunks all in the road, loud music echoing throughout the trees. It was hard to find our spot but there were trees for hammocks. We realized soon after setting up that this place was not a campground it was a trailer park. Drunks partying, music till 2am and some drunk messing with my motorcycle type of trailer park. So for love of all thats holy unless you want to be drunk and party stay away. Oh the cabins looks nasty on the outside dodged a bullet there.

2022-05-25Great campground, I would definitely recommend this campground. We stayed hear for two nights and it worked out great. My only complaint is the noise from the highway. But that isn’t a huge deal. Bottom line, I would recommend this campground

2021-07-11Great place to Camp, clean bathrooms unlike other campgrounds where your afraid to use the shower or the toilet cause there are spider webs and creepy crawlies everywhere. Also, Camping vibes all day. On the river for kayaking and canoeing. Highly recommend

2021-07-20Quiet and nice campground. Good, maintained facilities, including an on-site laundromat and lending-library. We appreciated the hot showers and the wifi at the office. Tina is very helpful!

2020-10-13Weve been coming here for 3 years and would never go anywhere else! The campground is located in a perfect spot to go swimming, kayaking, and fishing on the Schroon River. Also very close to the lakes near by. The owners are wonderful and great to deal with. I recommend all my friends and family to come here.

2020-10-07I am a light sleeper and didnt realize just how close this campground is to the interstate. Im finding it very difficult to sleep, even with a white noise machine. Normal road noise is forgivable, but then a big semi goes by and makes a loud humming sound, shakes the ground and startles me awake. Its a nice campground: very quiet this time of year (we came during the week 1sr week in October and I think were the only campers actually using the bathrooms. Mostly RVs, many of them look like theyve been here for months or years. My kid loved the playground. Its a nice little place if you can sleep anywhere.

2017-06-19My family stayed here last summer, we brought our friend from Spain. She loved it! It was her first time camping! Our favorite part was canoeing down the creek! Also very pet friendly. Our syberian husky also went canoeing with us she loved it! There is a place a little up the creek by a small waterfall where there is a patch of sand where we sat and it is deep enough for us to go swimming! Would love to go there again!

2016-08-16We have been coming to Rancho Pines for a number of years. I have always found the owner to be very helpful even if it was personal camper problem. The people camping there were always friendly and seemed like a family atmosphere. I love the pine smell from the pine trees and the tranquil feeling I have when Im there. The owners keeps the grounds and facilities very clean and orderly. Love the place and would recommend it to everyone.

2016-04-23We had a very pleasant stay at Rancho Pines. It is a quaint campground right on the Schroon River. If you are looking for a campground with crazy over the top attractions...this is not it. This is camping like its suppose to be, hanging with family and friends by a fire, fishing, canoeing and swimming. It is family run by a sweet couple. The river is beautiful, the campground is surrounded by tall pine trees and there is fresh mountain air...what more could you ask for. My family will definitely be returning.
