Randolphs Bar and Lounge in New York
Waited 10 minutes with my wife to be seated with numerous staff walking past and not acknowledging us. We were finally told, You can seat yourself. Grabbed some menus and sat down. Were asked if we wanted some drinks so we asked for some water which never came. We waited 10 minutes for no further service. Ended up leaving because the thought of paying a tip for the service we received disgusted us.
Well appointed interior, wood decor & leather chairs. Staff attentive, polite, & warm, especially the maître d. Menu selection was enticing. The burger was cooked as ordered, the flat bread was tasty w/ good heat, & the tomato soup w/ grilled cheese was delightfully satisfying. Also the cocktails were well made & delicious. A pleasant late night stop in Manhattan after theatre & a long tour of the Christmas Wonderland nearby.
Dined at the Randolph located in the Warwick Hotel. Had passed by several times. Menu caught my eye. Sophisticated and quiet. Great place to hold a casual meeting. Food is superb. Service exceptional. Have dined several times. Try the scallops and gnocchi. Absolutely delicious!
So I am staying at Warwick hotel, where this bar is located.I had a reservation for dinner time for the 31st across the city in some other restaurant and since I was worried about crossing town at this date I went downstairs 2 days before and talked to Lauren during the breakfast (she was at the restaurant that is located in front of this bar at this opportunity)I asked if we could make a reservation for dinner for the 31st at 7pm at Rudolph’s and explained the situation. She said that usually they don’t do reservation but wrote down my room number, name and said that since we were only 2 people she could arrange this for us.With that, I cancelled my reservation in my previous restaurant. On New Year’s Eve at 7pm we went downstairs to Randolphs. Guess what? Lauren was not there, no table, no reservations, no dinner at New Year’s Eve! Thanks a lot for this great experience and commitment to the client. 👍🏻
My husband and I always look forward to a late afternoon lunch of French Onion soup and Bloody Mary’s when visiting NYC. After many years at Rudolph’s, yesterday’s visit is our last. The service is always lackluster (I have never seen more than one server for the whole room so we always blamed staffing not the server) but this time it (our waitress) was just plain awful. No greeting, slow to no return to our table and other than taking our order we really didn’t know whether or not she was there. Poor service and then worse, stuck in the cheese of my French Onion soup was a long, black hair that stuck out from the string of cheese at the top of the crock. Poor service, poor quality. Sad to leave this NYC few times a year tradition behind. 😢
Its nice to come here have a drink next to the big windows and see people pass by. And thats what we did after strolling through 5th avenue the whole day. It was a nice little stop before dinner.I had a glass of Baileys & hubby had a scotch, both glasses were generous. The service was ok, not very fast nor very friendly, but nothing too bad.
We ended up cancelling our orders unfortunately. The server who brought our food had an attitude, he should not be in the hospitality business. It was our last day in New York. Thought we treat ourselves to something good, but unfortunately it was the other way around.Too bad. So unfortunate for us.

2022-03-20We absolutely loved this bar!!!The main reason was the barman, a 50-60 ish, from European ancestry. He was very nice to us, very patient and really, really friendly. Also a huge professional who prepared delicious cocktails and all sorts. If he is there, it is absolutely worth going!!

2022-09-01Pretty good midtown spot to meet friends for a drink. Service is nice, drinks are reasonably priced for the neighborhood and the seating is comfortable, and not packed in like other places. I wish they’d bring back food.

2020-02-20The food was reasonably priced for having an upscale bar feel. The food was good, but nothing spectacular. It was more so a small spot to rest our feet and re-energize. There was definitely ageism bias here towards us. We are two young people in our mid 20s to 30s and it took a server probably 30 minutes to take our drink order. We were dressed nice enough to be there, while there were retired couples wearing blue jeans being served instantly. They assumed we werent eating and never came back to us. We then had to flag someone down again to take our food order. The servers were pretentious and rude for the most part. They truly deserved no tip but of course we still left one.

2018-07-26I came here to grab food. I was really interested in the R54 Burger, but it was very mediocre. I asked for it medium with no mushrooms; first time it came out it still had mushrooms, second time it came out the burger was totally well done, no pink at all. The flavors were all bland. The cheese, bacon, bun, fries, etc tasted like bland versions of those ingredients. We also got pepperoni flat bread which was much better in comparison. Overall wouldnt recommend for eating, especially for the price.

2019-10-02Food was not good at all. Tasted like hotel food. Drinks were decent. Service was not great. There was only 2 other customers and could never find our waitress. We had to get up to get our own water from the bar. Would not eat here again. Maybe stop in for a drink.

2019-09-04Its an oldie but goodie. Right on yur way from Diamond District to the posh area of NYC, Madison Avenue shopping. Tucked away inside a historical hotel. A lot of old money wealth can be found here, but of course that brings an older crowd (in case yu didnt get it the 1st time). The drinks, traditional martinis which is ALWAYS a plus! I say go ahead and dive in. At least for one. Please note: Great for people watching as well!

2019-03-17Nice spot, came here for lunch and had a decent burger and fries. Everything took a beat or two too long but if you came here for drinks mainly, youd be fine. It took 30 mins for food, 15 for the check after they took the plates which is cool if they were busy. Burger had too much char but was cooked well, just not too tasty. Expected to be a little better for the price and wait but not bad. Slightly better than a room service burger at about the same price. Would come back for drinks because its a chill place.

2019-06-09Incredible comfortable place. Wonderful for a conversation and a drink. Prices are a bit high, but not unusual for this part if Manhattan. Its worth it to get the ambiance and space to have a proper talk. I will meet people for a drink or two here in midtown as it is really ine of the better options if you do t want a bug crowd or to have to shout over music.
