The worst place to put your love ones. I have my mother for a week in 2nd floor. The worst floor in the building from the CNA they are all lazy no compassion for the poor residents. My mother keeps complaining nobody answers the call lights. No body gives water. The nurses makes no difference particularly the nurse working in the afternoon. Ms Budhu she do not know how to talk to people ,rude especially to the residents. she needs training in nursing skills and leadership.i dont know how she calls herself NURSE. always on her phone and hiding in the empty rooms. The administrations should check this workers they are a disgraced to the facility.
Normally I dont one-star businesses; but this time, I would like to share my experience as a former employee. It was a day with a windchill of -10F in the winter of 2017-2018, they demand you show up despite there’s no way to get there.Plus, they refuse to reimburse our Uber rides traveling between patients. You will easily spend $1500+ monthly by riding Uber in order to provide home care to patients assigned to us. But they simply give you one excuse or another just not to reimburse your transportation cost.If you are a medical professional and trying to build a career to help others, please, listen to me, stay away from this business and go elsewhere. Grace be with you.
I Just came from visiting my mother who is on the second floor room 220 ProvidenciaThey way they arrange the visiting arrangements works just right because of the cov19For now that is how we are able to visit so lets work with it, it protects everyone all around. Is on Tuesday and Wednesday the visitationit sad to visit your love ones in this matter is really sad but at least you see them and talk to them with a phone that the patients get, there is gladness when your loved ones see you face to face even though its through a glass. My mother has been there for many years no one is perfect and no place is perfect, not even I own personal lives.I know some worker are under lots of pressure so pray for the workers to give them patience and understanding and more love.Like in all job not everyone is a happy worker. so far any incident concerning my mother they call right away ,Any medical procedure done to my mother they inform me right away. The social worker Duarte 😁👍 he is very helpful and courteous and willing to work with you,The young lady in actives Naomi!😁👍 friendly and she is Wonderful and works Great with The Patients and she has lots of,Patience with all the Seniors , she is a very caring person God Bless her and the social worker Duarte. We that have love ones in these places we must understand that our family might not be easyTo handle either and that down the road we might also be guest also and when we can not any longer do for ourselves. So workers and family members lets have compensation and understanding,And Love and put everything in Prayer. GOD BLESS!🙇♂️🙇♀️Manny!
I want to acknowledge the physical therapy team who helped me so much from Jan.2021 to April 2021. Thank you Jackie, Russell, Harry, Tina, and Chris!!! Thank you to the social services director Tamika for all the help you provided. Thank you Stephanie in the recreation department for being so nice. Last but not least the 6th floor nursing staff and aids where so very nice and helpful to me. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
I am glad I found this nursing home in the Bronx. Great quality service, the admissions process was easy and the personnel helped our family with the transition and all the insurance process. Seamless every step of the way and cannot thank enough the help we received to admit my mom in the facility. She loves the place and they even have a beauty parlor. Thank you and do not think twice about having your loved ones admitted here, you will not regret it
This place is horrible. Poor communication skills and the head nurse (I believe his name is Dr. O’Brian or something like that) is the worst person to deal with in that facility. The incident began as such; I walked in for a daily visit to my relative with my pet dog like I usually do. I got to the front desk and the security ask for my dog’s paperwork for the first time. I didn’t have them on me so I explained to him how I have been bringing my pet dog to the facility for quite some time before. He then proceeded to then let me go upstairs with a warning to bring her paperwork next time. As I was approaching the elevator a man shouted out of i had paperwork. I proceeded with him and he began to quickly throw me out consistently telling me the dog is not allowed. Now i understand the fact that the dog may be a hazard to those other patients that may have an oxygen tank or allergies however the way he aprroached the situation was wrong. The security guard handled it much better then he did. If that’s not good enough reason to rate this facility a one star another incident that occurred in the time my relative stayed there was that they would let her stay without eating. She would be relaxing in the comfort of the bed and hours would go by without them feeding her. Turns out that they wouldn’t even invite the patients to the dinning room to eat. The patients had to know themselves that the food was served at a specific time and had to unassisted go all the way to the dinning hall. I thought the main reason for this place was for rehab ? How are the people that attend this facility for walking rehab suppose to get out of their bed unassisted and get all the way to the dinning hall. It’s just so unorganized from just the rules and regulations of the place to the care that is given by the nurses.
This place is all about the money. My parent got bedsores after being there two weeks. They never have enough staff to assist in changing her more than 2 times a day. The manager Ms Umba tries her best. But no one communicates the needs of the individual patient. One CNA will know my parents specific needs, while the next desperate to get a check, non caring person could care less.My family has to be there 24/7 to attend to my parents needs. The facility is somewhat clean, but they are too cheap to hire enough staff to deserve more than one star.If you love your relative, find a loving facility for them. This is. Not the one.
My mom was recently there 8/2020. This was her third time but for some reason she wanted to leave. Idk what went on or how they are treating our family members. But she wanted to get tge hell out of there. I think just because family members cant visited at this time the workers take advantage of that. They way i was addressed by one Social Worker she would never have talked that way to me if we were face to face. So I could imagine what our family goes through . Its a shock to me. But Moms said if she could help shes not going back there.
I have given eye doctor services to patients in a LOT of different nursing Homes.. some are good, some are bad, and some are incredible... RR and staff are Incredible. I am happy to be a part of a staff that is really exceptional. The facility is exceptional and the atmosphere is something that I would want for my own grandparents if they were still around.see for yourself pop in and ask for a tour.
The most incompetent staff at this place. My father could have died and they wouldnt even know until the next day. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY. THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY. The staff doesnt check on their patients..if you love your family dont send them there
Had mother there less than a week and had to remove her because they took her to therapy while she had internal bleeding. Staff aren’t train for emergencies. They just take the patients put them in the tv room and leave them there, or they just take them to their room and tell them to go to sleep. Staff are terrible, never pass by the patients room to check up on them. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE PLACE to have ur love onePLEASE DO NOT PUT UR LOVE ONE IN THIS PLACE if u STILL WANT TO SEE ur loved ones better. My mother at this moment because of their negligence has internal bleeding that damaged her kidneys. ALL REBEKAH FAULT
All of these reviews are very true. However; administrators and some staff are very respectful but there is one guy who works there as a doctor/ director of nursing whose role to mess up the residents lives. His clothes are not even an outfit to handle any crisis or prevent any catastrophic episode. His role to show off his tuxedo...... it is shame!!! Few staff are friendly and courteous. I hope the state survey can just do something about him....
Horrible!!! I had a family member here and they wanted to walk out because there was no service whats so ever and the patient had a hip replacement surgery...imagine that! My cousin was told that if she needed help to bring a family member if you needed help to use the bathroom! She wasnt given any pain medication for two days! I wouldnt suggest anyone to go there! Hospices are better than this place!
The worst experience ever please please please do not send your loves ones here....you might as well send them into on coming traffic...the are not attentive they are digusting when it comes to manners dont let the niceness of the looks off the bldg inside and out fool you they maybe clean but the attitude towards giving care to your love ones are the worst! They do not want u to tell them anything or ask questions ...there most ill...mannered place I have ever dealt with..and come to think they suppose to be caring towards your loved one no wayyyyy!! We got my loved out of there she was suppose to be there for rehab for 2 months we got her out of there in 2 weeks
This place is the worse! They make it inviting from the outside. Once inside staff is not friendly. They are lazy. My mother went they hell in there. I thank the lord she was discharged. All they want is money. They really don’t care about patients. Do not recommend this place for no one!
Probably the worst place you can take your love ones, the staff are unprofessional, no one knows what to do or how to follow procedures. They couldnt provide my grandfather with a proper wheelchair. ALL department are totally clueless this place is basically a shitshow. The CNA are lazy and rude and on their phones while patients are soiled and waiting for them.
I currently have my grandmother at Rebekah Rehab & Extended Care Center for rehabilitation - so far, the service is amazing. They treat my grandmother extremely well. The cleanliness of this center is also of 5-star. I even swiped my finger through the top of my grandmothers closet, and no dust, what so ever.
My mother was there for therapy, she came out worse than when she went in. She got therapy maybe 7 times in a month. The only time I was able to speak to anyone is when they were looking for money. Staff was rude. All around terrible experience. I took her out and put her in another facility. 👎👎👎👎👎
Unbelievable! I am so disappointed with this facility. The nursing staff are so very rude and unprofessional. The nursing director is awful. The facility is all about making money. I advise family members do not leave your loved ones here. Something must be done with educating the nurses on bed side manners. Nasty, Nasty attitudes and they are extremely lazy. The nursing staff will eventually bring this place down. Totally disappointed with this place.
PLEASE READ BEFORE ADMITTING YOUR LOVE ONES... JUST DONT.This is NOT a Rehabilitation therapeutic, nor nurturing facility. This place is all about making money and NOT providing proper services. I have photo and video as to how they treat their patients. First and foremost, in order for this nursing home to run appropriately, the Director of Nursing, Mr. William OBrien needs to stop cutting staffs hours and under staffing each floor. How can one nurse and two nurse aids care for thirty-two patients on each floor. My poor mom was there 2 months too long, because i was given a hard time to discharge her from Rebekah Reb. They would wake My mother and other patients who are wheel chair bound at 4:30am...yes A.M. to get them ready for breakfast which is at 8 am. I witness this myself as i walk in at 5:15 am., and was told by other the other patients. My mom is unable to speak and unable to care for herself...so I am glad she is home now doing much better...At the Rebekah, I found my mother with food still in her mouth as she slept..the wro.ng meds were administer to her, putting her in danger...please do your homework. I write NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH, SO HELP ME GOD.
Horrible place! If I could give a no star rating I would. My father came here for rehab after a knee surgery. A week later of staying here he overdosed on opiates and almost died. The staff here is only about making money. Listen to the reviews! Pick anywhere else! Don’t be fooled by the nice looks either. Or praise by social workers.
This place is the worst. They accepted my 80 year old mother for Rehab, she was transported there and due to some technicality that could have been worked out, they kicked her out on 12/20 in the rain back to the ER at night time. Now she is still in the hospital for the Holidays because most people are on vacation this week, so horrible for my family and I.It was inhumane how they treated her, the worst experience with a rehab ever.
First of all.......the address is NOT 1072 Havemeyer. The correct address is 1070 Havemeyer. And for accessaride users, the cross street is WATSON AVE and the Cross Bronx Expy. My experience as a handicapped visitor initally was excellent. The grounds were well kept. Upon entering, I was hungry and asked the guard was there somewhere to get a coffee and danish. He pointed me to the right of the lobby and make a left turn. I was greeted by a woman that reminded me what customer service was. Because I had a walker and sat down at one of the tables, Joan (is her name) greeted me, took my order and brought everything to the table for me. I was shocked when the food I received was exactly what I ordered!. Joan was kind and loving to several of the residents that came to Le Cafe.I left Le Cafe giving Joan a BIG HUG!The inside was beautiful and clean. Suprisingly, the Nurses station was actually an office with employees busy at work. I went to visit my loved one and was slightly disappointed by the complaints she had. We takled about the complaints, read Psalm 67 and prayed. The staff that attended to her could have used some people skills training. But in the staffs defense, the facility could have used more staff in the situation I observed and surely in other situations too. Overall I give Rebekah a 2 because patient care is always most important.Rating 21-25
If youre post op and in pain prepare yourself for a roller~coaster ride! I arrived at Rebekahs for physical therapy after 6 days in a long island hospital with a hip replacement! Rebekahs knew before i arrived at 1pm my situation & all the different medication i was on. However 1st time i requested my pain medication at 5pm didnt get it until 9pm. And hasnt changed since day i arrived. Not to mention i had 2 of Rebekahs staff members bump into my new hip several times and another one tell me it was okay to cross legs-biggest no-no after a hip replacement! So i dont know how Rebekahs was years ago but right now most of the staff (2 bad for the few good ones) definitely needs to be retrained! Oh main thing the director of social services Harris Berner practically called me a drug addict for getting upset that every time i asked for pain medication and had two wait more than two hours. He actually questioned why i was in a long island hospital if Im from the bronx before i came to their facility! When i explained that it was the hospital my doctor operates he try to insinuate that i mustve been up to no good in long island when my hip had to be replaced so would be the only explanation for me a hi-yellow Hispanic to be in Rockville Center Long Island because thats his redneck of the woods. Thank GOD i was treated like a human being by staff at Mercy Medical Center. Mercy staff as well as My Doctor Kubiak deserve 10 Stars.
ADELE MURPHY (THE DIRECTOR).. should be ASHAMED of herself for how she treats people. Her demeanor is horrible and she is quite condescending. Healthcare is definitely not her career calling. PLEASE RESIGN. The elderly community and those in rehab would be better served with out you. This place should be 0 stars but I had to give one star in order to post this review..... Very sad
I’m only going to tell you about their outside grounds. They are pigs plain and simple. They r a disgrace and now they t building more senior living apartments! OMG! Their plants look like they are dead and they don’t clean their outside grounds. After seeing all this why would I want to go inside?
Absolutely disgusting place ! If you truly care about your family or friend DO NOT SEND THEM HERE!!! The staff is horrible and extremely rude. They dont care about the patients at all and the office staff/coordinators are even worse ! Never have I seen people so rude and nasty before in my life !!! PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND SAVE YOUR LOVED ONES LIFE AND DO NOT SEND THEM HERE !!!
This place is horrible I will not recommend it to anyone not even my worst enemy if you have any family members that needs care please take them somewhere else- the staff don’t take care of the patients, don’t even bother this place is garbage they need to be put out of business. The worst place ever

2021-08-21On July 28th. I was admitted to Rebekan Rehabilitation Center for a Knee replacement. the 1st 2 day I was in massive pain, fighting and yelling at everyone. Fiinally pain management came and got it right. I was assigned to the 6th floor and the nurses and nurses assistants were very friendly and joyful to me and my care. In reference to the other departments thier services was excellent as well. The physical therapy department was a dream team. They put a 100% to help you. I had promised I would come back to visit the staff and residents for my appreciation and gratitude. I am100% please with Tebekan and will recommend thier services..

2022-03-05Stay far away from this place ... The Department of Health should pay them a visit. Shame on you.... I feel compelled to write a review. If you send your love to this place; please try to visit your love ones often and look what goes around there for a couple of hours. Do Not send your love one to this place Especially if your love ones has alot of health issues and is non verbal or blind... My brother was at Rebekah Rehab for only 2 months... And the first time I came.. good and then it went all down hill. This place did not give his medication the way his doctor told them. The attendants state that they come by to check on him every 2 hours and I was there several days for 5 hours and no one came by to check. Social workers do not call family members back with concerns... There is a reason why they are rated low and continue to decline. Ask questions and observe very well.... Thank God we are able to transfer my love one out of there........

2022-08-14Staff were too lazy to clean up my dad or give him a bath, they didnt even call us when he was unresponsive and dying. Dont leave your loved ones here. There was only one person who took care my dad and she was in charge of watching him eat to make sure what made him choke or not.

2021-12-04This is one place that has change my outlook on life. this is a very plowing nursing home. Now from an everyday basis their was different multitude of formal communication. The covid scares and shut downs were very pandemic. The notification on, the numerous risks that the state had worked for better tolerance beyond, so loved ones and friends and family were aware were barely funded. Walking into the above Extended Cares Act with my family/friend/loved one, and the postage was slim, when the covid act was in broad band, the telephone visits were not adjustments to my family/friend/love one. the communications than was fooped. shutdowns occur, no alerting, loved one can be loved right at that moment. We need more people here to speak Up. Conditions are unsafe, this virus has attacked many, an sometimes it goes unaware or to say caused in a different specimen. When acoming places like nursing homes we look for better Intentions for everyone and all of the patients and staff and our out coming. But how so ever look over covid protection? It aches to know that because of it virus caused many their jobs and theirs lives. Ihope places like this actually work together more instead of taking establishment as their own way to get away or get back at life, and actually make places like this beacon to work and gasture they paycheck in beacon. I noticed alot of un-ruling things with certain protocol. seeking out on it made it actually realize the difference inwhat which could do when 1 hand dos work to help others.Tender love & care should always be for The Elderly & Sick. 2stars because my family/friend./lovedone passed away here k3

2021-08-21My husband Ramon Ferrer had a knee replacement and I decided that the best care for him will be at a rehabilitation facility. I received a call from Rebekah Rehabilitation Center that my husband was approved on July 28. On the first day it was an adjustment. As I continue to visit on a daily basis I witness that his recovery of his knee replacement was getting better each day. He started to smile again laugh again and was very much interacting with the residence. I saw my husband coming back to his cheerful Happy self once again. So I knew he was getting better. My husband is a people person and will make others smile. This was a plus to see!!!!. I want to thank Melinda of the admission Dept. for her compassion and for her accuracy in answering all my questions. I also want to thank my husbands Social Worker Patricia for her support and guidance. And but not least the nurses and workers, aids that came to the side of my dear husband. He is so grateful and can’t stop talking about Rebekah and the staff. Sincerely a grateful and happy wife.Mrs Rosa Dominguez Ferrer

2021-08-09This place is terrible, my sisters grandmother here inside this nursing home. and they barely check on her. they dont sit her up properly. Her first 2 weeks in their they didnt change the blankets on her bed. They kept her laying on her side and didnt even check to turn her around. She grewn bed sores all over her body. When she went inside this nursing home she was able to atleast pick up a spoon and feed herself now that she has been here she is unable to do such. and on top of that their is no progress with her getting any better! You call here and you ask the questions you are suppose too and they hang right up on you. You call back and they act like they are busy, which isnt true! My sister has went into this place several times and has seen some unslightly things that shouldnt even be happening inside these places. Everyone please make sure you check upon your loved ones in these elderly nursing homes

2021-09-03I came to see a relative here and was turned away. Apparently a worker was covid positive so the entire floor was on quarantine. No one notified my aunt who is the contact person. Another individual who drove from Philadelphia was turned away and never notified about a positive case. The website isnt even updated with this information it has the same information from 2020. Worst place you can send a love one to.
