Decent food--nothing too special. WARNING: Theyve got a handy means of ordering food online, but the operators dont check the computer reliably so youre likely better off calling the place.We waited an hour after ordering online before I followed up by phone just to hear that the lady hadnt had the computer on, and that theyd get the food to us ASAP.
Ordered chicken wings with French fries and home made ice tea took exactly an hour to be delivered and then to top it off the driver pulls out 3 singles and says he doesnt have change ! I ask him to go and get change and leave the food giving him my 20 he says no sorry. I call the business up and they tell me it is my fault I should have known and since I didnt say anything when I called its my fault in the end the food was returned because now I was not gonna give away 16 on a 11.45 order all I can say is first and last time ordering from here if your driver cant carry 6 dollars or you cant ask customers if they need change before hand then you have no business doing deliveries.
I order from here Friday night. Took them one hour to let me my food was on the way never showed up the delivery man 🤷🏻♀️ I called back they told me I never made a order, and that they can’t retake my order. They even lied and said they have a driver and they don’t they use a bike. I’ll never order from here again. Last time they took my food to a different apartment and my food was cold. Didn’t even bother to apologize. This place should changed the name to ; ZERO STAR !!!!!
They keep changing prices. OMG...I order the same type of rice all the time and also asked for them to make is spicy however today i requested for the same food and they added 25c because i asked for it to be spicy.Very greedy resturant owner. This is the se o d time they hike up the price of food for no reason.
HORRIBLE DONT EAT HERE!!! I placed a order when it was delivered it was wrong.. called them back & after calling multiple times because they kept hanging up they said that’s what I ordered and that if I wanted something else I would have to pay for it to be delivered! So basically I was charged for the wrong thing that I did not eat & they wanted me to pay again for what I was supposed to get in the first place. I just saw another review with a similar issue won’t be ordering from here again and will definitely let anyone know who plans on ordering from here go somewhere else!!

The Chinese food was never great, but when I saw they had a New sushi bar and menu, I was delighted. I ordered the salmon avocado roll, gyoza, and miso soup, for lunch. I watched the man make my sushi. I thought I couldnt go wrong. I WAS SICK WITHIN 2 HOURS!!!! By the third hour, I had to throw my food up just to make it through the day.I PAID ALMOST $15 FOR A WOULD-HAVE-BEEN SUSHI STOMACH VIRUS!!!Thx #RedStar for making Harlem look bad.Folks, try Ozen, or Empire Szechuan.
FOOD POISONING!!!! Do not eat from here. Me and my boyfriend ordered from Red Star on 10/29 and BOTH of us got food poisoning despite having different meals! I would not recommend eating anything from this place ever. Not worth the risk!

Their food is really good. Reasonable prices. And the store is clean. But when they deliver the food they ring the bell like crazy.

I use to like this Chinese restaurant until tonight I knew the weather was bad today I decided to eat out on this snowy night so I call up place an order for delivery approximately around 7:15pm I called 3 and a half hours later they said “Oh let me call the Driver” long story short I never received a call back stating they were backed up or nothing which I feel is disgusting so No I would Never order from them and what makes it worse is that I was only 9 blocks away

2017-05-26Place an order online with seamless for pickup, go pickup my order its the wrong order😡.. The lady said Im not changing for you!!! I said its not what I ordered why you refusing to change it because its less money, I dont want no money back just give me what I want you can keep the extra$2-$3... So now I contact seamless and they called red star the lady told her she dont have anymore chicken wings and Im clearly standing in red star looking at a full bowl of chicken wings. I asked her why she told them she has no more chicken wings she ignoring me...

2020-12-15Delicious and Fast. I just moved to the neighborhood and was craving some Chinese food, close friend got me a of Broccoli in garlic sauce with vegetable fried rice (No Egg) Spring Rolls. Very tasty 😋 and the next day I order General Toe Tofu with White Rice and Spring Roll. It was once again delicious. I’m vegan so I was satisfied with the options.

2020-12-15Very disappointing!! I don’t eat Chinese food frequently but I said why not today. I ordered chicken and broccoli with white rice and two egg rolls. I ordered the egg roll extra crispy and they were edible. Anyhow, I open the chicken did broccoli, The chicken was extra white and looked uncooked but they wasn’t the worst part, I saw a longggg piece of hair in my food. The most unsanitary thing ever. I marched back into the restaurant and demanded a refund. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

2020-01-16It was the BEST. There was a new young gentleman whom I never saw before. He was very friendly and accommodating. He made me feel very welcome and appreciated. I had the Shrimp Egg Fung Young with $2 extra shrimp with brown rice and an order of fried chicken wings. He notice I had a walker, (he read my mind) and double my bag. Even the cook was friendly. My meal was delicious compared to the last time I was there. I was so disappointed that I had not been back in months. I was so glad I stopped by. P.S. They even built a ramp for the access of my walker.

I placed a order for 2 pepper steaks with fried rice I walked 5 blocks and opened my order and to my surprise it was fried crab sticks and fried rice I went back and was greeted with a attitude and told I need to pay the difference of 5 dollars and the kicker was she took both orders that had been opened of food and put them back in the bowl on the stove to resell to someone else! What a disgrace!

2020-08-20DONT WAIST YOUR MONEY HERE!!! So much for supporting a local community small business!! NEVER AGAIN My husband ordered food from them yesterday for delivery and he had a procedure done which prevented him from going downstairs to meet the delivery guy. The delivery guy decided that our order wasnt worth him coming up the stairs and delivering it to us even though he explained that he couldnt go downstair to meet him. When we called the restaurant, the guy wouldnt refund our money and he didnt deliver our food. NEVER AGAIN!!!

2020-02-26Changed my mind on this place. Yesterday night I ordered dinner and when I go down to pay for it i gave him a 20 dollar bill. The delivery guy thinks its fake.. he uses his pen to see if it fakes.. then pen says it real.. he scratches it to fell the ridged ink on the bill.. its real..he puts it to the light and see the security label and the hidden print.. the guy still asked me for another 20 bill so he can feel reassured. follows me into the lobby saying Im sorry. I had to kick this man out of my building because Now he was harassing me to buy the foodAfter he claimed my 20 bill was fake and I refused to use another bill . Last time ill.ever order from here

2019-10-09Overall decent chinese food for under 10 dollars. Cant say its the best food i have ever had but for the price if you go there, they will prepare it right in front of you and everything is freshly made aside from the wings where they half cook them then simply refry them for a few min and off to your plate it goes. They charge for every little sauce and $1 extra for any additives to your rice, decent not the best and not the worst.

2015-12-10Ive eaten here several times, and the quality of the food is always amazing, and service is incredibly fast! By the time I get to the restaurant after placing my order, its ready for pick-up. The prices are good, theres a great selection of vegetarian options. Its just a really great establishment, and I recommend you try it out. Itll quickly become your go-to for take-out.
