Recently had a family member witness a nurse be negligent toward a patient. She was very distraught at the behavior of the nurse but after making a report it was investigated. Please visit, call and frequently check in on your family in ANY nursing home you may choose.
My experience at Rego Park Health Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has been a pleasurable experience at best. The nursing staff is wonderful and very knowledgeableThe nursing assistants are very hard working, and are there to take care of the patients every need.As a rehab patient, the rehab department is at its best always. They are there to not only to help the patients through rehab, but to give them moral support as well. From Roast Chicken and West Indian style Ox tail stew- to pizza Fridays and Saturday night ice cream, Rego Park Health Care is a nice, clean, and pleasant environment for your loved ones.Joseph, Ramirez
My Grandma is currently here and what honestly made me bring her here was the admissions director. She was so nice, caring and extremely helpful. Made me more comfortable in letting my grandma stay here. Shes on the 2nd floor and so far is loving the staff and has already made some friends. She said they treat her so good. Thank you again to the staff and the admissions director who helped me the whole way.
Having to place a loved one in a skilled nursing care residence, also called a nursing home, is a difficult decision. However, if and when the time comes to seek this type of care, think no further than of Rego Park Healthcare in Flushing, New York, a shining star. This family owned gem for long term skilled nursing care and short term rehabilitation stays, is ideally located in a quiet residential area directly across from the old fair grounds of Flushing Meadow Park, and a short walk for outings to the Queens Botanical Gardens and Zoo.When people are entirely dependent on others for almost every aspect of their daily living, the care they receive is only as good as the dedicated staff of RNs, LPNs and CNAs (certified nursing assistants) who tend to them, one-on-one, whether dressing, feeding, seeing to their hygiene and grooming, and administering medication. From my experience, having had an aunt there for eight years who died naturally at 97 and a parent just about that age now, I can say the staff is outstanding. Many on the floors and in various departments have unusually long tenures, even beyond 20 years. Their expertise and professionalism which I observed during countless number of long visits are second to none. More importantly, they work tirelessly and patiently with a positive attitude, not just going through the motions as a matter of practicality, but doing it respectfully and affectionately. This is a credit to the owners who no doubt set examples as to how they expect patients to be treated by the ways they treat their employees. There are myriad of other things to consider in a healthcare facility which I think are important for quality of life such as accommodations, availability of different types of healthcare professionals, nutritious meals and snacks, activities, physical therapy, sanitary practices and cleanliness, environmental comfort and safety, holiday and special occasion celebrations, religious services, and generous visiting hours. I have mostly positive things to say about all of that based on what I have personally experienced during the many hours I have spent there. What I feel needs improvement are in technology: use of e-communications instead of snail mail and ability to make e-payments; in cosmetics: appearance of the common areas around the elevators, especially on the ground floor, and replacement of any badly damaged furniture and uncomfortable chairs in patient rooms. The social workers and the rehab team have been exceptionally supportive to me during difficult times; the activities staff go far beyond to provide entertainment, parties, and foster seasonal holiday spirit through the ever-changing decorations; the maintenance staff respond quickly to tend to reports of anything malfunctioning and keep an all day schedule for cleaning, amazingly odor free, throughout the floors and dining areas; the kitchen staff continue to provide generous and tasty balanced meals, accommodating occasional special requests; the receptionist who knows all the ins and the outs of the place, is welcoming and always ready to help. Finally, as to what triggered this review, I have to comment on the exemplary ways Rego Park Healthcare staff have so carefully handled the very difficult challenges of COVID-19 in strictly protecting the health and lives of patients, now thankfully vaccinated. They have provided outlets for people to share feelings about their isolation from loved ones, continued to give me status updates, and enabled regular video calls for me. I highly recommend this facility. It has earned a special place in my heart.
My Mother has been here for several years. One of the first people I met was Adnan Muhammed, the entertainment director. Most of the staff that I have met there are kind and professional. Adnan is exceptional. He truly cares about the residents and their families, has incredible energy and his attitude is always upbeat, friendly and helpful. I believe he just received a much deserved new title . This residence would not be the same without himSincerely,Lori Teverini
This is my father in law’s new home. The care and attentiveness this place gives him is great. It’s hard to put into words the relief I feel knowing he’s in good care. Thanks soo much to all the staff members during these difficult times for us all. Highly recommend this place for rehabilitation and care.
My grandmother had been in the hospital for a few months after having hip surgery. I was so worried about her getting back to any normal routine after being discharged. I was concerned about her getting the best post op care possible. The highly trained nursing staff and physicians were accommodating to my grandmothers and family needs. Explaining everything that was needed for her and making us feel very comfortable. My grandma was very happy with this facility. Her ease back into life and recovery was due to this wonderful facility. Thank you to all the staff members. We appreciate your hard work and going above and beyond for us.
My grandmother was placed here few months back and I must say I love this place. It is conveniently located right by the highway and across the street from flushing meadow Park in Corona Queens. The care that has been provided at this facility for my grandma is excellent in my opinion. The staff here is very caring attentive towards my her. Anything that I ask them to do it is taken care of with no questions asked. She loves the food they give her and also the other elderly people in this place. They provide activities for my grandmother to do such as playing bingo, movie night, singing songs, dancing and a plethora of other things going on. For that reason I give this 5 stars and would definitely recommend anyone to bring the elderly to this nursing home you will not be disappointed.
First off this Nursing home is very clean, the rooms are cleaned every single day from top to bottom. I really like the atmosphere the workers are very friendly and you can tell it’s very family oriented by the way the workers are so intuitive to the Residents. I really like the fact that it is across the street to the famous Flushing Meadows Corona Park. The Activities are amazing! They put on a stellar performance every single day! I like the food! Not your typical Nursing Home Food, very diverse culturally! Last and not least they have a big Event every single year what is called the ‘Links of Love’’ Festival every single year around the Summer Time! This Event gathers the Residents in the Community along with neighboring facilities and they have a ball! Most like to consider the official Nursing and Rehab of the NY METS!!!!
My grandfather was a patient at Rego Park Health Care for rehabilitation and during his stay we were very content with the care they provided him. When we visited we got greeted with a smile by the staff which was also very informative on my grandfathers rehab/recovery. The place was always clean. i recommend Rego Park Health Care for those family members who need of rehabilitation or recovery time.
My great aunt stayed here. Her stay here was simply amazing.. We loved the staff. My aunts recovery was very smooth and she loved treatment. Nowadays shes doing so much better. Were very greatful for the excellent service and I recommend them to anyone in need of this type of treatment..
My father in law has been at this place for quite some time. Unfortunately, family does not live close by in the same state to check on him regularly. My husband and I were there this weekend and we were not happy about the things we saw or heard. There was a female employee who stated she only works there 2 days that was very hostile (I didnt catch her name) in responding to the questions we had as well as a Male nurse telling us we needed to speak w/the supervisor about missing property. The atmosphere was eerie & it seems that they are not properly staffed to take care of the patients how they need to. They left a patient would seemed to be paralyzed laying slumped over the side of the chair on her back the entire time we were there until she was lifted to be fed. The patients seem out of it. It was an elderly lady stating that the same hostile female employee hit her. Everytime the lady would come near her, she would say Get away from me. or Shes hitting me She even yelled out that someone needed to call the police. I witnessed her grabbed the elderly ladies blouse & pull her. My husband and I are not happy. The charge nurse was no help either. She said she made note of it but we would need to speak to the social worker and rushed us away. We will certainly be looking into moving my father in law to a facility in Pennsylvania to better monitor the care he is receiving.
My father was in this facility for several months for wound care. The staff ARE NOT well trained or knowledgeable at all in how to treat wounds. Every day they said his wounds were getting better, while in reality, his wounds were getting horribly worse. My father wound up losing his foot and I do believe partly as a result of this facilities negative care. Some of the nurses do nothing but complain all day long and even yell at the residents. They take 3 hours sometimes to bring a resident to the bathroom and often take their breaks while people are waiting to use the bathroom. Getting information from a nurse or doctor is extremely difficult as well. The recreational department is wonderful and they treat all residents as family and they are to be commended. If your relative can manage most daily activities on their own, this place is fine. But If they need more assistance, I would look elsewhere.
I am very pleased with the service I have received at Rego Park Health Care. The staff at this facility genuinely care for their patients and try to provide the best care possible for the patients. The staff are very friendly and easy to approach with any concerns. Special thanks to Assistant Administrator Michael Gallado to adressing all my needs and making sure that I have a great experience while my stay at this facility. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a caring facility and staff to provide for their special needs.
This by far has been one of the greatest experiencea for my grandmother with Alzheimers The staff at Rego park health treated her as if she were a family member of their own despite her only being there for a short period of time every time I came to visit her she looked happy she was fed she smelled good very rarely was I ever told to wait or was denied when I asked for a particular service to be conducted. In general it felt very much so like a caring and family oriented atmosphere if youve never been around someone with Alzheimers or dementia you would never understand the difficulty it is to exude patients but no matter how many times she asked questions she was always answered with poise and calmness.
This is a very good and very clean nursing and rehab facility comparing to most. They care very much about their patients and always make sure that the staff have materials at hand to take care of the patients. Administration is very professional, organized and on point. I would recommend.
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! I started working here and found conditions that were unsafe to the patients so I figured I would tell management. I sent numerous emails about the conditions and not one person responded. To my surprise I wasn’t paid for my working day as a punishment. I called numerous time and was told to by the business office to “take it up with the labor board. I’m only giving one star because the nursing secretary was such a great help and was apologetic
My father was taken there after having a stroke for rehab and from the day he got there the nurses were very inattentive. My fathe had left side weakness and lost of speech due to the stroke and so he didnt move or speak. They would leave him unchanged for long periods of time and when he had a second stroke they did not notice or call for an ambulance. When we got there and saw his state we asked what was going and what happened, he was in his room still without a nurse and they werent worried. Not until I saod we need to call an ambulance, my father went from being alert and responsive the day before to not alert and stiff the next day and did not get alarmed or concerned. Do not take your love ones there.
My father is here now...worst staff ever! They never seem to know anything! And the food is disgusting! My poor father is not eating well and doesnt have the strength to do his therapies correctly. Also their rehab facility sucks! Looks like a crappy gym and no correct equipment for what he really needs since he had spinal surgery. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place to no one! Worst place to still be in service!
Very happy with this facility...Have been coming here for a few years to visit family. The staff is friendly & accommodating. There are many fun activities for residents to participate in & the place is clean & well kept. They offer nice sized portions for meals & snacks too.
Where do I begin? My uncle was admitted on a friday night and was hospitalized by Monday due to lack of proper care. He had a seizure that proceeded for over an hour. Ambulance was called took over 1/2 hour, when the ambulance came it was just a transporter ambulance with no proper medic on board. My uncle seized until he was taken to the hospital and I was expecting to hear he didnt make it. After the damages were done my uncle was admitted to a hospice because of the severity of the seizure. He is no longer with us. Thanks to Rego Park Health Care Staff and Slackness.
WHERE DO I BEGIN? MY MOM WAS ADMITTED HERE ON JAN 6 2017. IT WAS NOT MY FIRST CHOICE..IN FACT I HAD NEVER HEARD OF IT AND MY MOM HAS BEEN IN HER SHARE OF REHAB CENTERS OVER THE YEARS. HOWEVER, WITH HOURS TO SPARE BEFORE WE WOULD HAVE TO EXIT THE HOSPITAL...I RECEIVED A CALL FROM HELENA AT REGO PARK. THEY WERE THE ONLY FACILITY WILLING TO GIVE MOM A BED ON SUCH SHORT NOTICE. SHE WAS MY ANGEL..ONE OF MANY AT REGO PARK. UNFORTUNATELY WITHIN WEEKS OF HER ADMITTANCE ..MY MOM WAS DIAGNOSED WITH TERMINAL LUNG CANCER AS A RESULT OF YEARS OF SMOKING. SHE, WITH THE SUPPORT OF HER FAMILY, ELECTED NOT TO PURSUE ANY TREATMENT AS SHE HAD A HISTORY OF MANY PAST ILLNESSES. HER WISHES WERE FOR COMFORT/PALLIATIVE CARE. REGO PARK ALONG WITH THE WONDERFUL STAFF, SPECIFICALLY THE 2ND FLOOR NURSING/PCT STAFF PROVIDED AN ENVIRONMENT OF COMPASSION, PROFESSIONALISM AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT SO DESPERATELY NEEDED AT THIS MOST TERRIBLE TIME IN OUR LIVES. THEY WERE ATTENTIVE TO MY MOMS NEEDS AND DIDNT SKIP A BEAT TAKING CARE OF EVERY OTHER PATIENT IN THEIR CARE. I KNOW BECAUSE I WAS THERE ON A REGULAR BASIS. UNFORTUNATELY MOM PASSED AWAY ON JULY 23,2017 IN THE COMFORT OF HER HOME FOR THE PASSED 6 MONTHS. I WAS CALLED AT HOME WITH THE NEWS ONLY HOURS AFTER I LEFT HER SIDE. I FELT AT PEACE THOUGH BECAUSE I KNOW SHE WAS IN THE CARE OF VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE WHO BECAME PART OF MY HEART..I WILL NEVER FORGET THE NURSES AND AIDES OF THE 2ND FLOOR, THE PHYSICAL/OCCUPATIONAL PEOPLE WHO TRIED THEIR BEST WITH HER, HELENA AND LANA ON THE FIRST FLOOR AND THE RECREATIONAL STAFF WHO ALWAYS CAME TO THE 2ND FLOOR WITH A SMILE ON THEIR FACES FOR THE PATIENTS. I GIVE REGO PARK 5 STARS FOR MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND AM GRATEFUL FOR ALL THEY DID FOR MY MOM AND MY FAMILY AT THE DARKEST TIME IN OUR LIVES.
Thanks to Rego Park for the kindness of all the staff and special care for its residents, I am very grateful to all the people who were in charge of taking care of my Aunt Betty Cuadros, they have done an excellent job, thank you very much.Sincerely:Clara Patricia Cuadros.

2022-03-30When this Center was recommended to me, I had no idea what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by the modern facility, relaxed atmosphere, and most importantly the caring rehab doctor and nurses who cared for me. Knowing medical assistance is at hand and at the same time given opportunity for rest and exercise I believe my recovery has been given a boost by being here.

2022-04-26Just a few words of thanks to all the staff at RPHC. When the hospital recommended that my mom stay at a rehab facility after her heart problems, my family and I were very apprehensive to be honest. We settled on RPHC and are very happy with our decision. From the first day my mother was welcomed and cared for in a manner that made her feel calm and comfortable and allowed her to heal. The nurses and staff make you feel like family and the facilty is super clean and safe. I can say that if my mother ever needed rehabilitation again, we would not hesitate to call on RPHC again.

2022-03-29The staff were amazing and always available to answer all of my questions. When my father was first admitted I didnt think that he would get into assisted living. His therapists helped him twice or three times a day and pushed him to keep improving. Thanks a lot....
