I was so excited to have my wedding at the Renaissance next November. Having grown up in Queens, I always knew I would go back to the city for my wedding. As many native New York City residents, I am an only child and very close with my parents. When my mother had suddenly been diagnosed with a terminal illness, I decided to cancel all my wedding plans to focus on taking care of her. It was very disheartening to know that the people running the Renaissance do not care about their clients, just their money. I canceled my wedding over a year in advance, due to very extreme and upsetting circumstances, and they have out right refused to refund me for my deposit. Normally, I would understand that deposits are nonrefundable and that I am tied to a contract. However, I would like to think that compassion is not completely dead and that the people running this business would have enough heart to refund me during this unprecedented time in my familys life. My mother and I have both requested to speak with the businesss owner but could not get passed the event manager. I hope that the people running this facility can sleep at night knowing the added heartbreak they have added to our lives due to their lack of empathy and disregard to our situation.
Wale and I just had an amazing check in with Lisa at the venue. Lets just say it was worlds better than the previous staff. She was extremely detailed, professional and is so down to earth. I am so happy that she is part of my big day. Planning a wedding can be so stressful and she honestly put us at ease.
Attended a wedding here last week and I have to say it was one of the best ones I have been to. Staff was so on point. Food was delicious and the venue is absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend and looking forward to coming back. I know I will have my next party here!
I had an amazing party at the Renaissance! Tina, Kristina and their team are amazing. They really helped me plan my party and was excited for it like I was. Always available and communicating. The food was excellent and all my guests were happy and complimenting on the food and ambience. You won’t be disappointed having your party here!
I had my wedding here on May 8th. This was the worst vendor I had to deal with. I booked precovid with different staff who were very professional and easy to work with. However, when it came time for my event the previous staff was no longer there and I had to deal with Denir, the owners son, and Tina. They hardly responded to any of my inquiries even after calling and texting multiple time. I was always told they were extremely busy with events, when they would finally answer -- 5 days later...1 week later...2 weeks later. I had to show up in person to speak with someone because my wedding was in less than a month and I still didnt have answers. When I went in person, I waited 40min to speak with Denir and I had an appointment. I traveled from GA so that I can get answers to very simple questions that Ive been demanding for weeks.The week before my event, he didnt honor the discount that I was promised and written on the contract that they had. He also started adding random charges claiming it wasnt included in my contract for example: linens and cocktail hour. He said I only paid for a 5 hour event...??? Since the previous staff werent there and my wedding was the following week, I ended up paying for these random charges. The week of my wedding I needed to call and text multiple times to confirm the last details for my wedding because again they werent responding. I wasnt given the menu until the day before my wedding. I also had to create my own seating arrangement to send to him because I wasnt given one after asking for it multiple times.I also tried reaching out to them on Instagram through their page as a last resort to get answers. But they deleted my comment and did not reach out to me.It was very stressful to work with them especially when I live so far and couldnt get answers over the phone or by text. The phone would forward to Tinas cellphone who never answered and had a full voicemail. My text would be ignored for days by both Tina and Denir. They were very unreliable and unprofessional. I wouldve gladly moved my event elsewhere had I known how awful it would be to work with them.Although this is a beautiful venue and their food was great, management was awful. I had a terrible and stressful experience with this business. I wouldnt recommend having your event here unless they hire the proper staff that care about their customers.
Ive just had my daughter Sweet 16 birthday party at this venue. We were very happy with the all organization and final results of the event. The food was good and we received good reviews from the guests. The ambient was perfect, spacious, and cozy at the same time. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. My special thanks to Brenda, who was our party planner. She was always ready to answer my daughter and my questions and tried to accommodate all our requests. Also a special thank you to the maître d, who also kept the party running smoothly during the 5 hours of the event. Im glad we chose Renaissance for this special celebration. We loved the place since our first visit. Its totally different than the usual catering halls. Im glad we made the right choice. Thank you Renaissance staff.
RUN-DONT EVEN BOTHER BOOKING THIS VENUE. I booked this venue pre-covid with Teresa and her staff, who were super responsive and helped me postpone the event to this July. Now that management has changed, Tina, Brenda, Sanela and whoever else is in charge never responds to emails, reads your IG messages without responding, and never picks up the business phone number listed on google within the hours of business. The voicemail box is full on the one number listed to the business. I have driven by the venue twice at this point, both on a weekday and weekend, and the lights are always off and doors always closed. Even the businesses I have called adjacent to it have said the same thing.What kind of business operates like this? At this point, they have my deposit for providing absolutely NO SERVICE.
My prior venue was cancelled and The Renaissance looked so beautiful i couldnt resist, i called and spoke to Paul and he took all of my worries away. It was only a week away from the event and Paul made everything run perfectly and smoothly. Brenda helped out with decorations and linens/set up of everything. I was a bit scared that they did not set up until 2 hours before the event, but everything come together so perfect and magical.The entrance was my favorite part of the event, those stairs give a great entrance for all of your guest. Cocktail hour ran so smoothly and the food was so tasty. Since i had no time for food tasting i was a bit sceptical about the food, dessert and drinks. And being a picky bride, i can assure you the food was fabulous! Dessert and drinks were amazing as well. All of my guest were endlessly speaking about the ambiance of how romantic this venue was and how great the food and service was. They loved the chocolate cake for dessert and the anger steak for dinner. Even though this was an engagement party it was basically a wedding as everyone stated and it was just perfect! Paul and Brenda were very attentive and kind. The Manager of staff that took over the party was so kind and helpful with anything i needed! He knew exactly what my fiance and i wanted and delivered it perfectly. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone! Romantic, unique, amazing staff and amazing food , there is nothing more to say but , Renaissance Event Hall should be your number one pick! My guest are still talking about this party, Thank you Renaissance for a perfect day !
I booked this venue for my wedding and I cant wait for 4/2018. Went back for a food tasting and saw the beautiful updates they have done to the place. Just beautiful. Brenda is my wedding coordinator and shes amazing. The venue is affordable and the day of your event, its only for your party. I know with the updates, the prices might be increasing. Thank you Renaissance!!!
Nice and elegant, staff members are very professional and go above to make you a drink according to your desire. The food ( buffet) not the best, but better than most places. The negative part about this place is the not handicap friendly. Seniors had a hard time going down to the hall below. If you have no elderly as guests you will b ok.

Booked Renaissance to host my wedding ceremony, cocktail and reception and was very pleased with their professionalism, helpfulness and flexibility throughout the entire 8 - 9 months of planning. Would recommend to host a party, social/business event or wedding cocktail and reception. Good food and atmosphere and the staff were great to work with and respectful. This place is a hidden Gem! We just celebrated my daughters Sweet 16 there this past Friday and OMG we can’t stop talking about it! From the Venue being absolutely stunning to the staff beginning iwith Brenda who was so awesome and so attentive to every detail, everything was simple perfection. The food is amazing the setting is divine, the servers were so nice and helpful.... ugh everything! I have nothing negative to say......I HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone! You will not be disappointed
I had my wedding ceremony and reception here and I was so lucky to have found this hidden gem. Id lived in the neighborhood for years and didnt even know it was here. The service, food, and ambience were just perfect. And the wonderful event coordinator, Brenda, put me at ease through the whole planning process.
We have been holding our HS prom at Renaissance Hall for the past four years and every year our experience gets better. This year, after a few renovations, the place looked awesome! My students had an amazing time, the hors d oeuvres were very good, the food was amazing, and they loved the mock cocktails :-) Part of this amazing experience was due because the hard work of Brenda Bueno, the events manager. Brenda was always accessible and was able to accommodate all our needs. We are all looking forward for nexts year Prom!
I went to an event here on the MKL holiday weekend and I was very impressed. It was spacious and every aspect of sound, light, decor, food and service was excellent. There were so many staff members available and they all were kind, efficient and professional and from the food and cleanliness and functionality of the place, the behind the scenes staff were the same. It all added up into a magical experience and I had a great time and would recommend it.
Attended a wedding. The microphone for the ceremony was in and out the whole time. No fix. Cocktail area was small and cramped. Staff kept telling my wife and I to move but there was no where to go. Salmon for dinner was raw and literally not cooked inside. Its a nice place, but has a couple huge problems that shouldnt happen.
Brenda, Benard, and the rest of the Renaissance Event Hall (REH) team were fantastic from start to finish. REH provides a menu of options, which allows for each couple to customize their experience. You can choose between a buffet and sit-down dinner, a range of courses (including or excluding dessert), and multiple alcohol packages. Additionally, they permitted us to bring in additional vendors for part of the dinner and dessert, and make last minute changes when necessary. As for the wedding day, Brenda was present day-of to ensure everything ran smoothly. There was a member of the wait staff (Diana) assigned specifically to the wedding party; she ensured that everyone had a drink in hand and was wonderful the entire evening. Guests raved about the food, and genuinely had a great experience with all REH staff members and facilities.At the outset, my wife and I were skeptical that a beautiful wedding could come at such a moderate price tag. But REH proved us wrong. REH succeeded all of our expectations at a price well below many other venues in the NYC area.Thank you REH!
If I could give them negative stars, I would! Horrible service, horrible, wedding planner, dysfunctional facility, the food was disgusting and management is the worst, especially Teresa (she has real issues and is a very poor manager/ no skills at all). Very disappointed in their service and would NEVER recommend, EVER! (a real negative -10 out of 10!)
I want to thank Jessice and Gergana and the entire Renassaince staff for the magical day. Everything was beautifully executed, unobtrusively, attentively, considerately and to perfection, reflecting no doubt many hours of thoughtful planning and extensive communication. Memories of which will always include a tribute to those people whose professional expertise contributed so substantially to making it such a perfect day. Horrible horrible horrible please do yourself a favor do not waste your money or embarrass yourself in front of your family and friends they have the worst service the worst staff their food is horrible do not embarrass yourself here half of their employees are always drunk!!!!

2021-11-16My husband and I have lived in Astoria for a few years, so it meant the world to find this venue! The entire venue is absolutely beautiful - from the ceremony site, reception area, even the bathrooms and more. We used white linens, greenery, and added the bistro lights to the reception area and it was totally dreamy.Lisa was so thoughtful, attentive, and made us feel completely taken care of during the planning process and especially on the day of. Pricing was very fair and super customizable.Our older guests were able to easily use the handicap lift to access both floors as needed throughout the night. Vendors also had a great time working with staff and the space (We used Petals & Roots, K&R Photos, J&R Videography, DJ Lucas Waters, Drawn Together NYC in addition to the Renaissance team.)For hotels, we had a majority of our guests stay at the Boro Hotel, which is only one mile away from the venue. Would suggest using Ubers/Lyfts for transportation on the day of since parking in Astoria gets a little crowded.Truly was such a gorgeous space to host our wedding!! We are so so happy we chose the Renaissance.

2022-05-26We had our wedding here on May 13 and we absolutely are so thankful for Maritza, Lisa & the whole team at the Renaissance.They were so accommodating, answering all our questions, making sure us and our guests were as comfortable as possible. They’re well-priced, thé venue is beautiful, and Maritza & Lisa are the warmest (and funniest) ladies to work with.Our guests had the absolute best time and are still raving about their experience. 2022-05-16We had my son’s bar mitzvah party at the Renaissance, and we are looking forward to an excuse to have another event there! We fell in love with the place from the moment we walked in. It is a unique, and beautiful space that does not need much decoration: it is elegant in and of itself. Lisa, our event liaison, was terrific. Her experience in the field was instantly made obvious by the way she treated her staff. Everyone had a seat at the table, and there was mutual respect and kindness between and among her and the people who worked for her. She was consistently responsive, listened to what we wanted, advised us on what worked best, but never pushed her views on us. Our meal was different, because we were doing all dairy – she gave us plenty of options. We used their bar for drinks and brought our own wine – all the unused wine was returned to us at the end of the evening. We did an omelet station, pasta, mac n’cheese, and sushi and it was enjoyed by all. On the day of, there was excellent flow between Renaissance and the vendors. Our event had a lot of twists and turns because the original date in January was knocked out due to a snowstorm. We did not cancel until the day before, and Lisa charged us nothing extra, gave us many alternative dates to choose from, and was in constant communication. There were many challenges: our party planner came down with covid at the last minute, as did two of Lisa’s staff, and yet everything came together. On the day of, Maritza was there in the morning to help the vendors set up, and she was great to work with as well. We paid for the valet parking for our guests, as parking is difficult around there – that worked out great, too.

2022-03-27My wedding was held here last weekend after visiting Renaissance for the first time at the end of January. As soon as I walked in I had a feeling this would be our venue, which was even more confirmed by meeting Maritza. Although shes only started working here in January, her years of experience with event planning was evident as soon as we sat down together. She made me feel at ease with the whole process and wasnt pushy with pricing or our budget at all. They were more than accommodating for hosting us on short notice and were responsive whether by email or phone. The event hall doesnt need much decoration as its quite beautiful as it is on its own, there was enough staff and everyone I interacted with that evening was kind. Maritza was a true professional as my maitre d, and Im glad I trusted her and Renaissance Event Hall! I was somewhat nervous that this seemed too easy for a day that a lot of people feel more stressed about, but we think our wedding was a success based on our experience and the feedback of our guests. Everyone enjoyed the food, which was one of our biggest concerns. Thank you!

2021-12-07We used this venue as a surprise birthday for my brother. It was fantastic. The space is incredible, very modern with great lighting and a cocktail area that is the balcony to the main event space. There is a lift to get back and forth for those that need it.Lisa was our point person from start to finish, and did not miss not one detail. She is the person you want on your side at your wedding or event. You can tell she’s very experienced in what she does and understands the space. She also had no problem letting us decorate how we wanted.The food was great too! We did the buffet style and the steak was cooked to perfection. If I need to book a space for any parties in the future, I’ll definitely be returning!

2021-12-21Beautiful venue, majority helpful staff. Only one minor setback was bland food for our taste and the guest of honor didnt get to eat but overall we had a wonderful time and the guests were very happy.

2022-05-29I recently booked an event here for my family and we had an great time everything went well ,,we will definitely be back for future events ,,I have never seen a business so clean and put together,usually when I enter event halls its not too clean or it looks unsanitary ,but this Renaissance was very clean and thats why I would go there again ,the cleanliness is what got me ,,whoever is keeping that place clean the 5 stars goes to them I have to admit that ,they had it so clean and especially with a time where covid is so high I felt comfortable to go and use the bathroom here other public places restrooms are filthy this place was so clean ,,, Renaissance if you read this your cleaner the person who takes care this place ,they deserve the praise and the recognition for keeping that place clean and orderly.

2022-06-16My son held his wedding at the Renaissance, the catering hall tables wasnt ready at 5:30pm when guest arrived nor was the appetizers or the open bar. The reception was pushed up to 6:00pm. When it came time for the appetizers it was served coldthere was no small plates or at least tooth picks to eat the appetizers instead I was given a napkins to pick up the appetizers, then I had to use my fingers to dip the appetizers in the sauce. The open bar was aweful we had to wait until it opened, once opened the bartender took more breaks to smoke cigarettes. When it came to the buffet, the food was served cold it tasted nothing like the taste test. Would I recommend this place? I will not. I hope the service gets better.

2022-06-07Ok where do I even start,I recently scheduled an appointment with the manager Lisa and she was literally nowhere to be found ,,she had my family and I come to the place and she or her assistant wasnt around thats not good business practice ,,when you schedule an meeting with someone you should be there to meet ,,I wouldnt recommend this place because these people have you come there set up an meeting and then nowhere to be found ,I heard good things about this place so I wanted to try and book an event but I will be taking my services somewhere else not worth the trouble .when you give good service you will receive good services ,,

2019-12-04As an event designer ( Sugar Rose Gardens), Renaissance Event Hall is one of my favorite venues. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the food delicious. Thanks Renaissance!
