The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Bed was amazing.Thomas at reception was outstanding and very attentive to our requests!!The location of hotel was convenient, but only con would be that the street was very noisy, dirty, smelly and full of wasted people lying on the sidwalk.
Nice hotel and stayed on 32 floor. The view was fantastic . Parking is around 95 dollars which is a bummer . Otherwise the hotel is quite modern in architecture and nice. Although the bathrooms are designed with no locks and shower has semi transparent walls . So I would be wary of that if I were to share it with friends or with acquaintances
Good hotel in a good location, but let down by subpar customer service by the front desk and poor handling of problems. Would recommend looking elsewhere for a better experience.First issue I had was when I asked the front desk to have my room refreshed. Result was a bag of towels dumped in the entrance. When I complained, they said they would send someone up to make the bed. No one arrived. After another call to the front desk, I gave up and asked for a full room service the following day.Second problem I encountered was when my same-day laundry was lost, multiple calls to the front desk results in the calls being punted to the bell/entrance team because “they handle it”. Between the front desk and entrance team, no one really looked into the problem. No ownership. It was only 30mins before my airport transfer was due, that Dexter from the bell team solved the issue. He was the first and only person to take personal ownership and call the laundry company, confirm that they had not received my order, looked physically in the hotel and found my laundry bag. Basically it wasn’t sent out. I’m super thankful for Dexter as he salvaged what would have been a real disruptive situation. There are plenty of good alternatives in midtown so I would recommend you look elsewhere for a better experience.
Beyond upset with the customer service here. My flight home wasnt until 8pm so the hotel held our bags (6 of them) until we needed to leave. We used the hotels car service to take us to the airport and the bellman kindly loaded all of our bags into the vehicle. I guess I should have stood next to him supervising, because once we got to the airport (1.5 hours away), we noticed that a duffel bag was missing. Without having time to go back, I assumed the hotel would help me retrieve my luggage. A week later, I now have to pay upwards of $350 to get my bag to me in a decent amount of time. I have medications that I need ASAP, so Im unable to wait another week or two to get my bag to me for $75 instead of a couple hundred. The manager at the hotel was very rude and told me that the bag was brought back from the airport, where they notified me that the bag was there and I just never got it, therefor they cannot help me cover the cost of the shipment. Which is very far from the truth! I had my bag with me the entire stay until I got to the airport on my way home and realized it was missing. In which I called the hotel immediately and they said it was still with the bell man. Im appalled by the way the manager handled the situation and his lack of care. Should I have stood by the bellman as he loaded all of my bags and counted each one, possibly. But never have I had to do that nor did I expect the need to. But you can bet Ill be doing that in the future. If you use this hotel to store baggage, you better watch every last item get located into your vehicle otherwise youll be paying a pretty penny to get it back!
Was here for a short business trip. The location is great being close to the train station. The front desk staff is professional - when I checked in there was another guest who was extremely rude to themas he was not able to get early check in and cut the queue, and they handled it well.Dealbreaker - the water was cold all the time and it was not fun finding that out at 11pm after back-to-back meetings, and the elevators take quite a while especially during rush hours. A few in-room amenities (e.g. slippers) were also missing even though it was stated to be available when booking the room.
Excellent location and that was a key reason I chose this hotel and it was also recommend by a work colleague, as well. Overall, it was a mixed bag my visit and Ill describe why.First, the lobby was interesting in that there isnt one when you first walk in off the street as its just like a clerk desk and you need take the elevator up to the 6th floor to reach the actual lobby to check in or do anything else. The elevators are great, theyre the smart variety where you punch in on a control panel what floor you want and it tells you which elevator to go to and that car will take you direct to where you need to go with no buttons present inside the actual elevator. The service was pretty attentive once at the lobby and in subsequent times I visited the lobby. Even if employees are standing around talking to each other, they quickly broke out and asked how they could help me. They were also nice on the phone when calling for any needs. But, there also was times that the call wouldnt get picked up, especially by room service. I called down one evening for a breakfast order and they never picked up and I left my order and asked them to call me back to confirm. They never did and I called before I sent to sleep to confirm and they said good thing I called before they dont check their v-mail (??). I put in my order and she confirmed. The next morning after the time range they gave me for delivery was already passed, I waited a bit in case they were on their way. After they were about 10 mins late, I called to see if they were on the way and they said they had no breakfast order for me (!!!).I have a customer meeting to go to and I dont have extra time for this kind of nonsense. Thats the whole point of calling in the order way in advance and confirming twice. SMH. The good part is they said they would get right on it and they did deliver it pretty quickly from that point.Food, by the way, was decent. Not bad, not great. Not a huge selection or variety, but decent quality and choices. This is NYC and as expected the room was pretty small. I didnt take a star away for that, but it was pretty tight. They decorated it pretty well, but nothing special. The other reason they got 3 stars is because there was no housekeeping done. First, a hotel of this caliber and price set to do housekeeping only on request is silly. Second, I specifically asked for housekeeping the next day when I realized its request only. Guess what? I come back to the room after a long day and ... no cleaning done (?!?).I paid, literally, over $2K for 3 nights and what they delivered was far from a good value, even despite the location.
Thomas Tran3/5a day ago on GoogleEverything was good up until our valet guy took our key home and stole our key fob.Justin thank you so much for going out your way to make everything go right for us! You’re truly the best! It’s not Justin fault neither was it his problem but he went above and beyond for our trip.We valet our car over night. Next morning we’re suppose to check out and come to find out our valet guy took our key home with him. So we had to wait until the guy come back with the key. So we had to Uber to where we needed and wait until the valet come back with our key. 4 hours later we finally got our key. But the valet guy stole our key fob to our car?!😳. A key fob.!!!! Like wow. Makes you wonder wth else can these valet people take from people car without people knowing. So we thought our stole our key and key fob! Turned out that Their car valet people lost our car key!!! Then to top it off they made new key without our consent or knowledge!!!!! This is so unacceptable! The fact they lied this whole time made it worse . Horrible beware!
Love the hotel! Great staffs. Very clean place! Everything was going perfect up until checked out. We received a call saying our valet guy took our car key home with him😒.There was a guy that works at the front door his name is Justin. He went above and beyond for us. He got us a Uber for the time being to go on my doc app. Made sure we got there and made sure we Got an Uber back. Told us to not worry about a thing. To top it off he made an effort to check on us to see if everything was ok after. If we got our key back. You’re the best Justin! This is the part where I think it’s so messed up on the valet guy or the valet company that the hotel is affiliated with. Our key was return but when got it we notice they stole our key fob to our car key. Like wth are u serious? It’s not much but the fact that you stole it was like “wow” . First you took our key home. Making us delay our plans for the day. To top that you stole our key fob like why?!?Make you wonder what else these people can steal from customers car.Overall the hotel was great! But the valet was not good. Hope they don’t make that mistake agaiN.
Youre paying for the location, not the hotel. Staff was very curt and not pleasant at all. Rooms are small. Will try to charge the entire rate as incidental up-front (almost $2k for my 3-night stay,) I was misled about the view my room would have, and had no hot water for my last night.
Our stay at the hotel was a 10 we found parking every night which is very difficult to do especially in Manhattan every time i stay there the customer service was very pleasant the employees were very friendly and respectable at all times even when we asked for extra supplies for our room. Our room was very clean tidy and up to par. I felt like we were staying in a 5 star hotel with how fancy the elevators were at first lol but eventually we were able to manage. Overall our hotel experience was pleasant and i would definitely stay here again. Also there were plenty of restaurants in the area for us to eat and enjoy anytime we wanted to eat.
We decided to stay at the Renaissance Midtown Hotel because of the location. Great for getting around to everything and short distance to train. The staff is very friendly, the hotel is fun, clean and modern and the beds were very comfortable. The only complaint I have is someone walking into our room at 4:30pm for no reason. Wasnt housekeeing - maybe maintenance? They were unannounced. The city also needs some cleaning up, but other than that the hotel was great.
This hotel has been my absolute favorite in the Manhattan area so far. I stayed in July 2021. The hotel staff was welcoming and friendly, the rooms and general spaces were well cleaned.I originally did the day pass as I was in New York for a day only but I ended up extending it overnight. The front desk was super helpful, and didn’t have an attitude about that.My favorite part about my room was definitely the shower. The hotel itself was modern and elegant.I enjoyed the fact that it was in Midtown and not in the heart of Times Square so the streets outside weren’t too busy. It was in walking distance of some decent restaurants as well. The windows and walls were soundproof so I didn’t hear the street outside unless I opened my window, and I definitely didn’t hear any neighboring guest slamming doors. The room had a fridge which was a major plus! I wish I took pictures but I’d definitely return so I’ll post a review then
The hotel is beautiful, updated and well maintained. The rooms are modest sized, but the bathroom was very spacious. The midtown south area was not my favorite, but it was convenient to many restaurants and sites nearby. Unfortunately the restaurant did not provide breakfast at this time, but the hotel did offer complimentary bottled water, which was great. And Versa is a great spot for drinks. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
We paid too rate fir the skyline view. It was good. The customer service was pretty average. The room appeared clean. There was no breakfast service. The location was ok. I’m sad to see Manhattan is in decline and there is far more visible people living on the streets and drug use in the streets than I’ve ever noticed in years past. The hotel was clean which matters! The room was nice and nicely sized. Our skyline view was nice. Otherwise the property was mostly unremarkable as was the service.
Right off the street, the bell hops were gracious and very welcoming. Moreover, they were helpful and polite. Couldn’t get an early check in, but we were there way too early. Once the room was ready, (we had two) my colleague and I were very happy with the rooms we received. The common areas, restaurant, elevators and rooms were all clean and wellMaintained. I’m going to start traveling to NYC much more, now that the plandemic is over. And I will not stay anywhere else.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Check in and out was very easy. The hotel room was a good size for midtown for 2 people. We were on the 27th floor with some beautiful views. This hotel is so conveniently located, only a few blocks from 2 major subway lines and the PATH. There’s a rooftop bar in the restaurant but we didn’t dine or drink there. Nice views of the Empire State Building if you walk all the way to the end of the terrace
We had a wonderful experience at Renaissance New York Midtown. Great location, we were greeted at the street entrance with helpful staff, very clean/hygienic facilities, front desk staff was the best we encountered during our regular travels for work and pleasure. Facilities and rooms are beautifully designed, views are gorgeous, services are timely, staff are attentive. Everything was just perfect!
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. After staying at a different hotel in Times Square I decided to switch and go to the Renaissance and Im so glad I did. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean and beautiful. Their elevator system was awesome and very modern!! The only reason they lost a star with me was because they did not offer room service at the time of my stay. The restaurant inside the hotel was open but no room service was available from them. Instead, they recommended another company that ended up having horrible service. Overall, I definitely recommend staying here.
Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The lobby has great seating and was a great place for a company Christmas party. The appetizers were provided by the hotel restaurant and were delicious!! The one thing that was frustrating about this hotel was their elevator/keycard system. It was all controlled by panels outside of the elevators on each floor and was the one annoying thing to deal with during our stay
Ive stayed at this hotel several times before and loved it. I did not love it this time. There was no internet for 2 days and for an additional day and one-half, it was so unstable that I could not use it for my zoom calls and had to use my cell phone on phone, not wifi, instead. TV did not work for one day. One evening there was a concert across the way that was so loud that I could not sleep. Food offerings in the concierge lounge were minimal. On the positive side, the hotel was clean and most of the staff was friendly. That said, I doubt that I will stay here again despite the very convenient location and the comfortable room.
This is a great hotel! The hotel was very clean and the staff was incredibly nice--from the bellmen, to the front desk and the lobby bar. Everyone was so helpful and if anything was wrong, it was fixed right away. What was the huge bummer was the restaurant on the fifth floor. We ate dinner there one evening and while the food was good, the music was loud. I felt like I was in a club. The next night, there was a party there and the DJ went past 11pm. The music bounces off all the buildings and I felt like the DJ was in my room on the 33rd floor. Way too late in my opinion. If they can fix that music, its a perfect GEM in midtown!
The location is perfect to see the city. The high floor views are stunning. The closeness of Penn Station makes trains and subways easily accessible. The on site restaurant/bar is wonderful making the only down side that it’s always busy with events going on the outdoor veranda. The staff is helpful. The rooms are clean. The bed is cozy. Loved our stay.
The rooms are very nice as location is excellent. The level of service is not what you would expect at this rate. I called don for a few bottles of water and was told I had to come down to retrieve them, even though he are included as part of my Gold Elite membership. It was midnight, so I did not go. I then finally got them to send someone up and they gave me just two bottles when I had requested four. I tried having water from the tap, but it was impossible to get cold water and it was all hot.
We stayed here for 1 night with the family. We were orginally on the 14th floor. That room was very noisy as it was above the club. We got switched to the 24th floor. While the room was quiet there was a problem with the a/c. It leaked all over the carpet taking away usable space in the small room. Engineer was called up and there was a clog. He fixed it and wet vac the room. However, a short while later it started dripping and we listened to the drip all night long. We woke up and the carpet was very wet again and a piece of our luggage got wet as well. We called down to tell them and they said thanks for the information that was it. This is the main reason for the fair review. My family didnt sleep well at all listening to a constant drip. Also when we took a shower , the water came out yellow from the hand held wand. Which made the shower ares not seem clean. A suggestion for other families who stay would be a note to indicate how to use the remote for the power shades.
The NYC Renaissance is an chic oasis of comfort, convenience, and cordial service in the heart of NYC. The hotel has a roof top restaurant with retractable roof , bar, and concierge lounge. The lobby, public areas , and rooms have an modern attractive decor. The guest rooms feature floor to ceiling windows with spectacular views, great beds, and marble bathroom . Most room have large glass showers . Best of all warm personal hospitality is extended by all hotel staff. The property is steps away from Macy’s , Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, and the Empire State Building . It is a short walk to Times Square and Hudson Yards. It is convenient to several subway lines.
This hotel will improve your patience. I visited this hotel last month. I arrived at the hotel before 4pm and waited over an hour for check-in due to full occupancy. While waiting in the lobby for over an hour, other guests who came later than me checked in first. They grabbed two bottles of water and left quickly for their room. Coincidentally, only a few Asians kept waiting in the lobby. I saw other guests handing out two bottles of water when checking in, but reception didnt give me water. Upon request, he gave me a bottle. The color of your skin determines the level of this hotel service. All Asian travelers, come here if you want discrimination.
We had a great night here. The attendant that checked us in was very friendly and had great food recommendations. The hotel had a very modern vibe and we loved the exposed concrete in the room. Overall the room was clean and much bigger than other NYC hotel rooms. Id stay here again.
The location was ideal, as we were traveling by train. The staff was very pleasant, and the hotel was clean and modern for the most part. We really enjoyed our skyline view from the 33rd floor. That alone might bring me back to this hotel! The elevator system takes some getting used to, but its pretty cool and modern. The only issues we had were with the cleanliness of the box spring cover, and the handheld shower sprayer needed repair (it kept coming apart at the hose connection and spraying everywhere). The sliding glass door to the bathroom didnt close all the way, so if toilet privacy is of concern, I wouldnt recommend staying here.
Overall, the hotel was fine. A few things are outdated (i.e. blinds on a manual pulley system, reading lights do not work), and the employees are all nice, but definitely made me realize my gold status is clearly not enough for the Platinum/Titanium Lounge where the water bottles were located. No dining or bar service available on the days we were there, but I think this is more Covid related. At least prices are cheaper right now than what they used to be so that made it work - nonetheless, all fine and can make do.
Visiting from California. Loved the location very close to all the historical places, staff are kind, its very clean, rooms are small but beautiful views, well kept and the restaurant here was very good aswell, would definitely recommend:)) only reason it gets 4 stars is because we had a 4day stay w/no housekeeping( they did bring up extra towels after day2 when asked for some so not bad :)
The hotel is ok, modern, the staff super friendly and helpful (reception).Pros:-Modernity of furniture-Nice lobby with nice view-Friendly staff at the reception and professional- Contactless elevator- Ok location for business- Nice view from the room (some rooms).Cons:night- Our room was not cleaned during all our staying (7 nights).- Capet of the aisles a bit old and dirty-Doors of the rooms are too close together and you can clearly hear (loud) when the guest in the other room gets in and gets out, specially if is the cleaning leady next door smashing the door 100 times.- Doors of the room don`t isolate the sound at all and you can hear everything that happens outside the room.- Staff at the main entrance unhelpful when we were struggling our way out with our suitcases, just stared at us and never tried to hold the door for us.
I love the decor and the layout of this place. I love how you have to have a key card to go to each floor and how 9 times out of 10 the elevator takes you straight to your floor. I would have given the hotel a 10 out of 10 but I didn’t get the corner room I reserved. The room service is not prepared in the hotel, it’s a 3rd party service from a different location. The views were amazing , the food from the restaurant, Versa, that’s downstairs is amazing. The location was perfect being that I rode Amtrak and it was about two blocks away. I would definitely stay here again though. Staff was awesome as well.
The hotel is in a nice location not far from Times Square and right next to Penn Station. Lots of food options in the area and nice walking distance to Central Park, the High Line, and other tourist areas. That said the hotel needs some work, the room was dated and not fully clean, with only half the outlets in the room working and half the lights also not functional. The bathroom had a partially ripped towel and we never got additional shampoo or soap during our 2-night stay. The staff was friendly but didnt promptly respond to issues. And for city view rooms you pay the price of also being over their open-air bar which plays music until 1 in the morning (they said 12 but we were definitely awake until 1 am). The doors on the closet also wouldnt close all the way and the mini-fridge kept turning itself off on us. For the price of this hotel in MidTown, there are better options at the moment. That said the views were very nice and the convenience to activities was excellent. If they update a bit and fix their services I would be willing to try them again down the road.
I guess I could summarize by just saying we ended up changing hotels. We booked over 3 months ago and asked for 2 rooms with queen beds next to each ither as we are traveling with our children. When we arrived, none if this happened. We also paid for breakfast and we were told this isnt an option on weekends. Wait...whattt?!The hotel is noisy, the staff do not care and, to add to the experience, my son left his phone on a table in his room and it disappeared magically.
We absolutely loved everything about our stay! The staff was so warm, welcoming and accommodating for our sons 18th birthday celebration. Perfect location and beautiful hotel! We loved our room and incredible skyline view from the 33rd floor. Would definitely stay here again!
We visited the big apple for my wifes birthday weekend and stayed at the Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel. Its our favorite hotel in the city due to the location and the friendliness of the staffs. Overall, another excellent stay but with one complaint though. During the 1st night of our stay, the hotel didnt have hot water. So after a hot/humid summer day out in the city, we couldnt take a shower/bath upon returning to our room late at night. Luckily, the issue was resolved the following mid morning so overall, another good stay at Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel and I would stay here again next time we visit NYC.
We did a 4 nighy stay in Renaissance! Everything was amazing, helpful staff, clean room and a perfect view of the city. The hotel was very well kept and clean. The location was centrally located and a quick walk to wherever you need to go in the city! Valet wasnt available, the hotel staff directed us to S&P Parking garage about a block away. We had no issues dropping off or picking up the car! This will be our go to hotel when we visit NYC!
The staff at this hotel were the best I have ever came across. I was having difficulty w/ my travel package and the staff did their absolute best to try and accommodate me and my family. Shoutout to Thomas for being so helpful and courteous! The hotel did not feel or look dirty, I felt comfortable my entire stay there. If it’s your first time visiting the city I highly recommend getting a skyline view it is breathtaking!
This hotel is beautiful-the pictures on the site will not do it enough justice. From the time you walk into the the door until the time you walk out, the staff is very attentive and friendly. The bellman was excellent! Forgive me for forgetting his name, but he is originally from NC and that Southern Charm was there at all times. The hotel is located within walking distance (we’re talking about a block) from Macy’s, MSG, and Penn Station. We had a city view and could literally see the Statue of Liberty from the room (which our daughter loved tremendously).I have stayed at several Marriott properties in NYC, but this one was the best. You will enjoy it!
This has been our go to hotel for years whenever we stay in Manhattan. We needed to be in NYC in June 2021 and we’re nervous about staying in a hotel. We read numerous awful reviews & heard horror stories from family about the lack of cleanliness, staff & services & poor maintenance of other hotels during the pandemic. But we took a chance with our favorite hotel and had a fantastic stay! They have maintained the same high standard for cleanliness and quality of staff we’ve come to expect at this hotel. We will continue to recommend this hotel and will be back!
The hotel location is really good. Commute to work and even some sight seeing was very comfortable. Was given a room on 31st floor, with a great view. The room was extremely clean and well set. Stayed there for 8 days and house keeping was always great.Special shout out to Thomas who made sure I got the best room and ensured I had all the required information. The staff on the 1st floor reception is great and courteous.Would be my first choice when I’m in New York, the next time.
Spent a weekend at the hotel for a girl’s weekend away from hone. The rooms are small but that is to be expected in NYC. They are one of the few hotels that have rooms with more than one bed - so that’s a plus if this is what you need.I would say the best parts about this hotel are its central location and access to a full 24/7 gym next door.It appears that they are In the middle of updating as the underlying concrete was visible on the room ceiling and the walls of the hallway on the floor i was located on. It would have probably been best to just complete the work before placing guests in those rooms. Room service is being outsourced. And the service takes forever. We ordered tea, coffee and a muffin one morning- which took an hour to arrive. This is a four star hotel - but I don’t feel as though I received four star accommodations….but this apparently seems like the trend during these COVID times.
This hotel is in such a great location, close to the subways, shopping and Time Square. The staff was beyond helpful in getting us an early check in due to a change in our arrival time. They were so sweet and caring and we will definitely be back for another visit. Thank you for making our first trip to New York so wonderful!
We had a pleasant stay, it felt clean and comfortable for my family of 4. We had checked into a hotel a couple blocks away and it was horrendous so we left and booked this hotel last minute and we were so happy we did! We also felt safe at this hotel considering you can only get in the elevators with a hotel key only. Staff were courteous, hotel room was beautiful. Basically my wife and I felt the whole hotel room was beautiful especially the view. We could even see the Statue of Liberty in our room! We were so happy! I’d also like to recognize tour staff and mention that I lost my wallet and realized when we were in time square trying to purchase something (which is not far from hotel) I back tracked and no where to be found! Thanks to your loyal staff (security) they found it outside the building, it must have fell out of my pocket cause my zipper was open. They emailed and told me as soon as I got back to the hotel! Thank you for an amazing weekend with my family couldn’t have been any happier!Couldn’t really rate dining or amenities since they’re closed during pandemic.
Overall, I liked this hotel very much, and if the issues below are addressed, I would definitely stay again. Unfortunately, I experienced the following issues:1. Throughout the 3 days I was in the room, the cold water tap in the bathroom ran HOT or very warm for a LONG time. I had to let it run for over 15 minutes before the water would be even lukewarm.2. No cups or glasses were provided in the bathroom. Even with COVID restrictions, disposable cups should have been provided.3. Requiring guests to install and use an APP to control the TV is ridiculous. I have enough Apps on my phone already. And I have no way of knowing if the App is safe. ALSO, many older guests may not be so up on advanced usage of their smartphone. Bad idea!
We visited NYC for a long weekend and our stay at the Renaissance Midtown was wonderful. It was easy to find, everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful, or room was clean and comfortable, and we were close to subway stops and waking distance to lots of fun shops, restaurants, and attractions. It was a wonderful stay. Thank you!
The overall experience is mediocre. Clean hotel. Housekeeping service lacks common knowledge and understanding especially during the pandemic. The staff wasn’t too friendly and cooperative. Restaurant staff are great. Location is great with everything around within minutes of walking distance. But unlike other Renaissance hotels world wide, this mid town hotel needs to step up in the game.
What a wonderful new hotel I found in NYC. As I travel at least once a month to NY,I am grateful for finding this gem. It was exceptionally clean and provided comfort. The bed was extremely comfortable (king), the bathroom was spacious and had great water pressure. There was Netflix offered as well as many other channels including showtime and HBO. The only complaint I have is the room service menu was lacking as far as ‘choices’.
This hotel is not good at all. Here are the reasons.1. No parking or parking arrangements made by hotel management.2. Rooms dont have any sofa.3. Room services are not good. Ice machines dont work in many floors. Even if they work, you will need use your whole strength to get some ice. These places are not cleaned properly.4. No regular sugar is available for your coffee (machine in the room)5. No water available in any place. Only choice to to buy from outside or vending machine.6. There is a restaurant on 5th floor with loud music and service is horrible. The staffs are not friendly at all.So I suggest look else where. There are lots of other good onesI am a marriottot member and love Marriotts hotels but not this one.
Our stay at the Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel exceeded our expectations! The staff was very accommodating and the Bell Hop staff- especially Justin and Elek were absolutely amazing. Their hospitality and knowledge of the city made our week in New York so much fun! We highly recommend this hotel - the location is great and the lobby is perfect and always well maintained!
This hotel was a pleasure to stay in. The rooms are exactly as advertised and the staff is friendly and available. Due to covid room service is minimal. They will not come to your room unless Youcall in for assistance which we had to do for minor things like a new comforter since ours were torn already upon arrival and the sink water pooled a little bit but it was so minor we actually forgot to report it. You have to get food from their restaurant or from one of the diners outside. Again due to covid their services are restricted a bit. The hotel atmosphere is a vibe, with a rooftop restaurant and lounge called Versa. We had a skyline view of the city. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay. As born and raised New Yorkers, we had a good time seeing our city from a different perspective. Bring your camera and get photos throughout the hotel. One thing though. This is not the the Renaissance fault but when going outside site seeing be wary of the homeless. As this may be another pandemic within a pandemic in this city. My girlfriend and I grew up here so were used to it. Give the Renaissance a try
Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Was thoroughly impressed with the room, restaurant, rooftop bar etc. But it was the amazing customer service of the employees that really sets it apart. Specifically Noor at check-in and Justin at bell. I doubt I’ll ever book at a different hotel when we visit NYC!
Honestly I have stayed in many other properties in Manhattan but this property did not meet my expectation. The room was much smaller. When I asked (being a gold member) if they could upgrade me to a bigger room, I was told this is the biggest room available. There was no restaurant on site. The ice machine on my floor was broken. There was no baggage storage facility for me to store my bags over night.Overall quite disappointed.
The hotel that doesn’t care, and it shows.I find it really ironic that the big artwork behind the reception counters reads “attitude is everything”.In this case it’s the negative attitude that makes this hotel one to skip. We checked in, only to find out our rooms had been sold “to a big group”. Nobody apologized. The next day, when we moved to the rooms we booked, my kid left his iPhone in his room and, in the few hours that passed until we noticies, it disappeared never to be found. The hotel staff doubted that it was the case and told me that maybe it’s somewhere in our luggage. Then, when I cancelled three days and told the reception we were leaving, nobody asked why or whether they could do anything about it. They just said “OK and goodbye”.I am a Bonvoy Titanium Elite member and it really didn’t make a difference: this place just doesn’t care.
I booked this hotel with my Marriott points at the last minute to visit family and friends in NYC. I was impressed with how warm and helpful each staff member was, and my room was very clean. The bed was also comfortable, and the bathroom was modern and clean. I stayed for three nights. They also have access to the Planet Fitness next door, which I used during my trip.
We loved the experience of being at the center of the city. Easy walks to the Empire State building, Rockefeller Center, St Patricks, and doable but slightly longer to central park and the new Little Island. Great views of the city from the room - you know youre in the heart of the city. Very helpful hotel staff with guidance and directions to attractions, providing a free city map.
I loved this place! My boyfriend and I visited for a long weekend and had a great time. Rooms are modern and super clean, and the shower is awesome. The hotel itself is decorated nicely and located in a great area. I hope to stay here again once COVID gets a little bit better so that we can enjoy the restaurant, lobby/bar area, and outdoor patio. Definitely recommend!
Overall the room was very nice. A suggestion for the hotel would be to have more lighting in the room. Very dark. Originally we had a room on the 14th floor over the club. Clearly that was too noisy. We were switched to a room on the 24th floor. We discovered a wet carpet and had the engineers come up. The air conditioning was clogged. They fixed it however a short time later it started dripping again. Woke up to a wet carpet and wet piece of luggage. We called and they just said thanks for this info.. No one in our family had a good night sleep hence the 2 stars.
Just an odd experience. A hotel reservation was made 8/31/2021 for a check in of 9/9 and a check out date of 9/10. Upon arrival and after 30 minutes of searching no such reservation was found. We were later told we gave them the incorrect confirmation number by a female associate who come to think of it never provided her name. A reservation was created on site and room provided, great! But to make sure this is avoided in the future reached out to Guest Services and spoke to Joelle (forgive if spelling is incorrect) and he was able to locate the original reservation with the same confirmation we provided from the start. Informed the first reservation was lost “in limbo”. Anyway. Assured there would be no double charge but I’ll keep an eye out to make sure that’s not lost in limbo either. 😉
Stayed here during my first time in NYC, hotel was very nice. You had to use a keycard for the elevator that would only go to your floor which was good security. One night i got back to my hotel after midnight and seemingly needed to have my keycard reactivated at the lobby desk to get up to my room. Great central location in Midtown too. Also had a great view north over Manhattan from my 30th floor room.
Location not ideal-did not feel safe walking on the streets. Clean, but No hot water or Ice in Any machines. Tried three different floors. Bellmen and Check in receptionist nice, but sent us to restaurants that were not good except Andrews Diner. Restaurant/bar not open Sunday-Monday-big disappointment.
I didnt receive any housekeeping service the entire time of my reservation. The front desk attendant did not put in my request, which didnt put me on the schedule for housekeeping, and I had to clean my room myself. The Housekeeping manager was slow to speak with me and discuss how to resolve the matter, however, the GM did attempt to rectify the matter by offering a discount rate. The guidance for housekeeping should be made known to guest when they check in so that there is no delay in the hotels response to provide service.
Check in to departure went perfect. Walked from NYP. 1 train was on same block and was needed to make meeting. LIRR across street for return to JFK. Upgraded using SNA for first time and recognized as an elite member. Room was very nice on high floor corner overlooking MSG. Food in restaurant was truly a great experience. I will definitely stay again.
I just want to Thank Thomas, who was so pleasant and friendly upon arrival. Thomas clam demeanor and exceptional customer service was greatly appreciated. I’ve stayed at many Marriotts and this one by far exceeds the customer service standards. I will definitely recommend this establishment and continue to book stays here as long as the customer service is as consistent as Thomas was. Thank you so much for making my weekend stay in NYC such a pleasant and wonderful one. Also the room and view was great 😊-Marilyn C.Confirmation # 99611601
Well kept hotel with walking distance to Times Square, Empire State Building, Broadway, 5th Avenue shopping, Madame Tussauds and trains. We stayed for one week (family of four) and enjoyed the walks to great restaurants, attractions and shops. The option to store luggage after checking out was very convenient.
Just about everything about the stay here was 5 star. However, it must be mentioned that on a Saturday night, they had the music pumping from down at the restaurant/bar late into the night. We were up on the 35th floor and heard it pretty clearly. While perhaps not a huge deal to many, we had an early train out of the city the next morning. However, outside of that we couldn’t have asked for a better experience and thus we would recommend this hotel as well as the restaurant, Versa.
The staff here is very friendly and helpful, the hotel is clean and beds are so comfortable. The room was a bit tight and the bathroom has no privacy, so for a couple on a first time trip might not be a recommendation lol otherwise the location was perfect. Very central to everything! Also the view from our room was exactly what we asked for.
We had a great stay . The staff was very accommodating getting us an early check in . My only complaint was non of the on-site restaurants were opened for breakfast and there was no coffee available in the morning. Other than that when we are going to see any show at the Garden we will definitely be stay here.
This hotel staff was amazing, and made it worth the stay. Javeed and elex deserve 10000+ stars for hospitality and safety. They definitely made me and my friends feel extremely welcomed and comfortable. They gave us great recommendations for spots to eat and drink at. Javeed has the sweetest soul ever, I really appreciated the experience I had for the first time in nyc staying at the Renaissance!
Perfection Of Guest Service ExcellenceIn a nutshell, the title offers my sincere thankful impression of this wonderful hotel. I was made to feel welcome, and valued, from the moment I walked in on the ground level, and that was only with Security. Clear directions were provided for my check-in (located on Floor 6) and thats where I met even more excellence. Although I arrived earlier than requested via the app, they advised my room was already available, thanked me for being an Elite member, provided some food/beverage info, suggested I contact them with any questions, and then let me walk you over to the elevator, all with a smile. Its these little things (that dont cost them a dime) making that first impression a VERY positive one.Everything in my assigned room (Floor 35) was in perfect working order. Another reviewer commented this property felt a bit boutique-like (due to minimal number of rooms on each floor) and I totally get that now. The hallways, like my room, was very clean. I enjoyed the city skyline view from my room, and will admit that even on the high floors it is possible to hear some activity of sirens during the day/night, but I totally expected that considered where I was staying within the city. It was not extremely loud at all and caused zero problems during my short stay. The Aveda toiletries they provide are some of the best at any Marriott property. The shower is designed without a lip which avoids any trip hazard, and it totally works. I figured the chaise lounge would go unused, but I was wrong. A great addition right there at the window for relaxed viewing. The elevators, like many things in this hotel, use a digital smart technology to access your room. Enter desired floor info, tap your key/device, and voila youre on your way . . . and rather quickly I might add. Like so many hotels, in-house food service is currently shuttered with the ongoing travel challenges, but they offer numerous alternatives, and, hey, youre in NYC where there are many options within a short walk. I was advised of this pre-arrival, so not surprise or disappointment there. You are very close to the main NY Penn Station hub (as well as several street access points) and also the new Moynihan Train Hall. Even if you dont need it, go visit the hall, which is superb. You are also so very close to the huge Macys Herald Square and also the Empire State Building. With any vacation location, you absolutely must use common sense when out and about. and I can say that I did feel quite safe in most of this area. The positioning of security on that lower level also seems to assure great safety while in the hotel too.I didnt need to visit the front desk during my brief stay, but in addition to doing mobile check-out I went by to turn in my card and offer a Thank You before departing. Before I could say much I was referred to by name, and making sure Id enjoyed my experience. Again, those little things making a now perfect final impression. I hope to make this my Go-To hotel in NYC for any future travel. I normally prefer to try a different location on each arrival, but they truly were that impressive. If it aint broke, dont fix it right?? VERY easy to recommend Renaissance Midtown to others. I hope your experience will be as wonderful as mine. Another big THANK YOU to the entire team.[caveat: I work for a huge hospitality company that provides some of the best guest service training in the industry, and can be quite picky.]
What a nice place to stay! The lobby was nice and clean. The breakfast area was large. There were several kitchen staff members constantly monitoring the breakfast items and I really admire that. all of the staves were also very helpful and professional. I am very happy, so I decided to make a review for you. I should highly recommend your Hotel to everyone!
During my stay Tinisha, Ely , and Tina were always professional and had the upmost best customer service and treated me like family . I was always greeted and asked if I needed anything. They really took care of me and I will always be thankful for that. I would recommend this hotel for anyone.
I’ve stayed in many, many NYC hotels and this is one of my absolute favorites and, honestly, the one I’ll return to again. The location is ideal for me - a mere block from Penn Station and Amtrak. Nestled mid-block, the hotel even has a small driveway for drop-offs. Since security is critical for me in that location, I was delighted to see a sophisticated automated elevator system manned round-the-clock by the bellmen. My room was spotless and appealing with unique decor, a fantastic skyline view, and well-stocked. Marriott uses a texting service - in addition to the room phone - so every need is met immediately. The rooms were soundproof and the marble bathrooms were well-designed with rainshower showers as well as handheld fixtures (no tub in my room). Excellent coffee and tea options were available in the room. The bed and pillows were super-comfortable. There are enough outlets for charging multiple devices and plenty of desk space for a laptop. A Planet Fitness was part of the hotel as well as multiple lounge areas for well, lounging, on a rainy fall weekend. Overall, our stay was exceptional and when we encountered a small blip, management took care of it immediately and even provided a special treat of wine, macaroons and strawberries. It’s a great hotel run by friendly, efficient folks!
The guest rooms and public areas are beautiful, clean and inviting. The hotel has an entry door to 34th and another one to 33rd Street, the latter makes the walk to Penn Station and the Moynihan Train Hall less than 2 blocks away. Gilles Rebmann, the general manager, was a pleasure to interact with regarding a room matter. The guest rooms are well appointed and well stocked with great views.
Nice clean place to stay. Wish there were a few more amenities and better assistance when needing parking. There was confusion on my 2 rooms for 2 night reservation, I was told I didnt schedule it properly but when I gave proof it was quickly handled and sorted. Average stay.
TDLR: hotel miscommunicated housekeeping policy, did not receive housekeeping for 3 days.Nice hotel, but1. The receptionist at check-in told me housekeeping is automatic every three days and only by request if extra housekeeping is needed. Turns out it’s solely by request (not every three days) and we only learned this on the last night of our stay.2. Requested extra housekeeping on the second day: while the marriot Bonvoy app said the housekeeping is completed, they never came.3. By the third night we assumed we would receive automatic housekeeping as we were told during checkin so we did not request extra housekeeping the previous day. We requested housekeeping at the front desk when we found out that the room was not cleaned. However, it was too late for housekeeping on the same day so we were only offered some new amenities for the night.4. Once again, we did not receive housekeeping on our final night. When asked, the receptionist Thomas informed us that the receptionist from the previous night had not put in a request for housekeeping, and that there was in fact no automatic room service every 3 days. Thomas was very nice and offered a discount on the last night of the stay, but it does not make up for the lack of service on the other days.
Fabulous NYC HotelWhen you search the Marriott web site for Manhattan it seems like theres a Marriott property on every block... and more on the way... but this is where you want to stay... the Renaissance is one of the best! We were looking for a hotel that was close to MSG and this was a perfect 2 minute walk. As a longtime Marriott Platinum member, Ive stayed at many spots in the city. We were pleasantly surprised here... so impressed with the hotel design, amenities, restaurant and overall service that we will now make this our go-to NY spot whenever we can.Check-in is on the 6th floor... always good to have a ground-floor check-in in a big city. We were very impressed with Joshua as the front desk. This guy has such a great attitude and knows what service is.... very professional, courteous and efficient. This first impression carried over to the rest of our stay... top notch, professional. Our room on the 25th flooor was very well appointed... just big enough to not be a problem. The rest of the hotel makes up for the lack of space in the room, so you dont mind as much. The restaurant, Versa, was very good. Great layout, food, drinks, service. Loved hanging out there for dinner while our son attended the concert. Breakfast in the morning was fine too.The Club Lounge was nice, although just drinks during the weekend... nice, high-end selections though.
My son and I went to New York for the weekend. I book the hotel here, but the room wasnt ready. We came walked around for an hour and came back at the time the gentleman said it would be ready. As I approached the desk, the same gentleman said it the room still wasnt ready. To the left of the gentleman was a SUPERHERO named Thomas ( I wasnt able to get his last name) interrupted the conversation and gave me the Best customer service I have EVER received. I have stayed in hotels around the world , but I have never met someone like Thomas. NEVER EVER. The hotel is amazing. I recommend this hotel....be sure to ask for Thomas. Excellent customer service! A Superhero named Thomas!
My sister and husband and I stayed here to attend a show at Madison Square Garden. From the moment we walked in the door we felt like we lived there. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and welcoming. I cannot tell you how much of a difference that made. The front desk guys are truly the best and the restaurant downstairs not only had the nicest servers Ive ever spoken with but the food was outstanding. We loved our stay here and it was so close to the Garden that we were there and back no fuss. It was the nicest stay Ive had in New York and we will most certainly stay there again for more shows etc. Breakfast! Do not miss breakfast. The avocado toast I had was so good I couldnt stop eating it.
First time staying at this hotel and absolutely loved it!I felt that I could escape from the hubbub of the City. The check in lobby, bar, restaurant and club lounge are all up on the 6th floor so you naturally feel elevated from the street. The elevators are automated to specific floor which I loved. Did not have to wait long ( over a period of 3 days). Staff are excellent and the rooms really stylish. The higher floor views are breathtaking. Already booked again for later in the month so looking forward to my next stay. Definitely recommend this hotel for business people and couples.
Over all our stay was very nice. We didnt utilize many extra services. We liked our room and the staff was polite and always smiled. The only things I would say could be better is pay attention to things like light switches on the walls when cleaning the rooms. They all had crust on them in our room and I had to wipe them down myself. Also, the staff in the lobby had us lug our baggage downstairs on two separate occasions to check them with the bell staff, but were checking other guests bags for them right in the lobby. Location is great. Room service food was not very good.
The Renaissance is located in midtown Manhattan not far from Times Square and just a block from Penn Station. Oddly, the Lobby is on the 5th floor, but the doorman was friendly and helpful. The elevators are preprogramed such that you choose your floor, it tells you which elevator to expect, and it takes you to your floor without having to hit a button inside the car. When we arrived at the lobby, we were enthusiastically welcomed and helped immediately. We found our room to be spacious, comfortable, clean, and beautifully furnished with a great view. Rather than curtains, it had both privacy shades and blackout shades. There were plenty of power plugs which is something many hotels seem to lack, and both AC and USB ports in the bedside lamps. The bathroom was very clean and modern with towels galore, and both a rain forest shower head and a hand held water wand. We had a small refrigerator and a safe in the room, and plenty of desk space as well as a large TV. Internet was free with no password necessary and seemed to work well. We ate at the restaurant the first night and found the food delicious. Our wait staff were attentive, responsive and friendly. I would recommend the Renaissance to anyone.
I stay here mainly because of the added perk of the Planet Fitness next door that is accessible to hotel guests. I like the comprehensive equipment so I dont have to miss a workout. Everything else about the hotel except the elevators is great. The cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff, the quiet in the hotel rooms is all top notch. Totally nitpicking, but the way the elevators function I think was designed for efficiency of use, but they are not. Since you have no control over which elevator you pick (you just choose a floor and the elevators come up on their own), you can sometimes be waiting for an elevator 5 minutes or more even in non-high volume times. Its probably just a technology that needs to be tweaked. Food that they offer is decent. I would love to see more vegetarian and vegan options, but its decent and convenient. I would definitely stay again.
Staff is great, amazing, and fun however the very odd design to have cement wall exposed through the hotel hallways and room is unnecessary. I can smell and probably inhaling cement particles. I think the hotel is a boutique hotel because the refrigerator is just a wine cooler and theres no microwave. The cable constantly goes out, walls are very thin. Location is great however theres other hotel around you should look at before selecting this one.
We had a fabulous stay at the Renaissance Midtown hotel in NY. The room was very clean and modern. Furnishings were modern and comfortable. We had a Skyline View room and the views were amazing! Would definitely pay the extra money for the view again. We ate dinner at Versa after arriving to the hotel. The food was okay but not great. I had the salmon entree and it kind of bland, not as flavorful as I had hoped but not the worst. My husband had the hot chicken sandwich. He said it was good, but not great. We also ordered the shishito sauteed peppers and they were very good. Excellent flavor! The decor and ambiance in the restaurant was superb. Would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. I wouldnt recommend dining at the restaurant for dinner...I just feel that there are other options in the city that would offer better tasting food for the same price.
Either the culture here is to just say yes and do nothing or they are totally incompetent. From confirming an early arrival where there was no room ready, to agreeing to move my luggage to the room that was ready and then having to move it myself, to agreeing to a late check-out and then having to have my keys re-done because I was locked out. This, sadly, is what I have come to expect from the Marriott Brand.
Rude and unhelpful staff, NO Service for any question, felt like I was in motel 6 , house keeping show up whenever they feel like one they do they never fill up all the amenities such as coffee, soap extra. Only 1 restaurant in the hotel that is often close for private events.
The hotel was an excellent choice. We loved the location, the décor, and the service. The cleaning staff was very good and friendly. The hotel design is modern and sophisticated. The use of materials gives an organic feel to the lobby and the rooms. Very contemporary, yet acknowledging the history of the building. The lobby is a place you want to hang out. Definitely look forward to my next visit.
The Renaissance Midtown was in an ideal location for access to restaurants, shopping, subway, Times Square, and the theater district. We found it easy to walk to most places of interest, and used the subway for everything else. The front desk staff (Eliza & Nona) were extremely helpful, provided an upgraded (high floor) room for my daughter and I, as well as tips on shows/food in the area. The executive lounge was not serving breakfast over the weekend, but between Liberty bagel/Best Bagel next to the hotel, we were fine. The lounge was open 24x7 for water/sodas/etc. which was very nice. Our room was on the 30th floor, and had nearly unlimited views. Highly recommend this hotel/location for other visitors...
This hotel is great! The location in midtown is excellent and the hotel itself is themed as a tribute to the fashion district. Its modern with details that reflect the fashion area without being tacky. Staff is friendly and check-in was effortless. The rooms are clean, spacious by NY standards, and the décor and design are top notch. Elevators have the modern touch panel that direct you to the elevator that will take you to your floor. Great feature, just not enough elevators, and there could be a wait depending on time of day. The only disappointment I had was room service. I ordered a sandwich, not that great, and it was brought to me in a paper bag. Its a matter of expectations and I was expecting the typical tray with plates, utensils, napkins, etc. Overall, this hotel was excellent and I look forward to staying here again.
I am a Platinum Marriott Member, have stayed 63 days in Marriott Hotels this year and I get to the Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel with my friend who is a gold member with well over 25 stays this year, the hotel air is not working, no coffee in the room, I ask to go into the Club Lounge (which I and other Platinum members have access to) so I can work from there instead of the unairconditioned room, the Front desk tells me my 63 days of Marriott Platinum Member Status is not recognized because the room was reserved under Travelocity . Finally after pleading, the Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel decides to make an exception to allow me to use my computer in their Club Lounge and the desk person proceeds to tell me my status is not recognized; therefore, I do not have the benefits to eat the breakfast. Seriously? I am staying at Hilton next time.
Got our temperature checked and sanitized our hands due to COVID19.Very comforting place for our family to stay.Due to COVID19 I feel like there’s not a lot of people are on same floor.I feel like security is high in this place.Elevators are high tech (at least for me 😅) so you cannot enter to guest floor without a room key.No floor button inside of the elevators. 😱😱Lobby is on the 6th floor which was very interesting fo me.There’s no parking lot from the hotel, however, there’s near by paid parking. We paid $55/24hr.The one thing I felt odd was the wall.I wondered why some of walls had a wall paper and some of them didn’t. It was just bare concrete. I don’t know it was supposed to be like that or they haven’t finished remodeling?!🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️But I had no issue sleeping in the room🤣🤣🤣Overall, Very nice and kind and professional staffs.FYI,There’s ‘BEST BAGEL & COFFEE’ across from the hotel. You can advance your order to pick-up at certain time. There food is great! and coffee as well!!Try them😉😉
My wife and I recently spent a weekend here and the experience was probably the best weve had staying in NYC. The hotel staff were - across the board - excellent and courteous and friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and efficient, perfect for our needs. The hotels bar/restuarant (Versa) was also excellent - the bartenders and rest of the staff were personable and attentive, and the food was delicious and pretty quickly served. The atmosphere was fun and lively, and we enjoyed a pre-show meal as well as watched the AFC championship game among a friendly and fun crowd. My wife and I have stayed in NYC numerous times over the years and the Renaissance Midtown stands out by far.
This new Renaissance is a hot spot especially for its bar (described as roof top due to the open glass ceiling). Their buffalo wings are fabulous and the scene on Thursday evening and weekends is packed. The rooms are beautiful with gorgeous views of lower Manhattan. My room had a king bed and a chaise lounge right at the window, perfect for the view. Hotel has a bar off of the lobby for snacks and drinks, I was surprised that it wasnt more active, but they could use a little more assistance for the bartenders who seemed a little overwhelmed even with just the few of us. The main restaurant and bar area were ok but not very easy to navigate. Bell staff is definitely needed when you arrive to help you quickly exit your cab and find your way to the front desk which is on the 6th floor! Room service was excellent. Staff was very warm, friendly and helpful. Club lounge is little different could be good or boring depending on what youre used to at the Marriott. Overall my stay was really good, youre right in the heart of herald square (right behind Macys 34th St.) and tons of great restaurants.
The wife and I loved this hotel. Wish we had more time to stay! The room is great. We got a high floor (31), so we had a great cityscape. Low floors are likely blocked by surrounding buildings. Superb pillows and bedding! Compared to the best Starwood hotels. The indoor/outdoor bar/restaurant (Versa) was great and looked very chic. We werent able to go when there was anything happening (and it was a heat wave, so not so pleasant outdoors), but it had the setup for a great outdoor venue with many different seating styles and arrangements along with a decent view south towards nearby Penn Station.Midtown is just south of crazy, as I call it. The hotel is far enough south of Times Square to avoid that mess but still walk to it. A little farther north to Central Park. Just north but walkable to the trendy neighborhoods like Chelsea and Greenwich Village. And a block and a half from Penn Station, so you can get off the island easily enough for a day trip, if thats your pleasure.
No drawers to unpack! I like to be organized when I travel, instead of pulling things out of the suitcase every time I need something. Yes, there is a closet, but limited hangers and not everything can hang. Would have gotten 5 stars. Very clean, staff was very friendly and professional.
The location and service at Renaissance New York Midtown was the best. The subway is across the street and a short walk to great restaurants and shopping. The staff was wonderful. Especially Noor and Tinisha. Our Lifetime Titanium status was recognized and our upgraded corner room was huge for NYC standards. The hotel was up to date and not dated like many NYC hotels. We travel to NYC several times a year and this has been our favorite Marriott/SPG hotel. The entire trip was great from start to finish.
Modern, clean hotel with lively bar. Our room was a good size as was the bathroom. It had plenty of shelf space both in the room and in the bathroom. I like that it had a refrigerator and a coffee maker. There was a lounge chair and a desk chair which made it easy to watch TV other than in bed. The bed was extremely comfortable. Location of the hotel makes it easy to catch the subway and walking distance to Penn Station, Macys and Broadway.
Ive stayed at plenty of hotels in NYC (and elsewhere), and Ive honestly never had an experience as bad as at this hotel.Incredibly rude staff - mostly at front desk.Didnt let me check in for 9 hours after I got there (to be fair, I was early, but it was still way past was they themselves bill as their guaranteed checkin time of 4pm).Rooms are old and outdated. Feels a lot like an early 80s hotel in terms of style, cleanliness, and amenities.Impossible to use elevators - often have to wait at least 5-10 minutes for an elevator.Im only platinum status (not titanium or higher) with Marriott, but other than access to the club lounge, which is also the worst Ive seen, there are no other perks. No welcome gift (despite Marriotts own website guaranteeing the offer), no room upgrades, etc.Location - as others have mentioned - is fine. Very close to Herald Square and K-Town. But thats the only upside of the hotel I can possibly imagine.Would HIGHLY recommend against anyone thinking of booking this hotel.
First of all, the location of the hotel is great. Extremely central and close to a bunch of different subway lines. In fact, one part of the hotel overlooks MSG! I didnt stay in the hotel too much given I was there for work. The staff was friendly and helped answer any questions that I had. The Club Lounge is a bit sparse, but it is nice to be able to enter in the middle of the night for snacks/drinks.I really wish they had better amenities. Given the luxury nature of the hotel, I was hoping they would at least have Toothbrushes/Floss and Combs, but they didnt. Its a nice hotel, but these little things could definitely take it to the next level.
Staff was excellent, rooms were clean and new. We had an amazing view. The only thing with room for improvement would be the buffet breakfast. Im used to having an omelette bar at Marriotts, but they only had the batch scrambled eggs. Add an omelette bar and the place would have been perfect! It one more thing. They earn you about rush hour in the elevators. This is 100% true. Expect to wait a bit to get up and down.
This hotel has a lot of potential, but has teething problems. The design and layout is modern and cool. Looks and feels brand new. The new restaurant is pretty good. Very conveniently located in midtown. Checkin and most of rest of staff is terrific. However, I would not stay again until they fix the air conditioning. There is only one speed and no matter which direction you point the vents it ended up blasting on my head. The hotel is too warm in the summer to just turn it off. Also, the club lounge was not very good. They constantly had a problem with supply of plates and silverware. Layout of tables is great for large parties, but somewhat awkward sharing a large round table with a lot of strangers when you just want to catch up on email in the morning. And when breakfast is over, no more coffee. In fact, before breakfast ended. Worst Marriott Club Lounge yet and for that reason only I marked down the service of the hotel.
Everything was amazing, from the check-in to the check-out. The first thing I noticed when I walked in my room was the fabulous view of the Statue of Liberty! The room was clean, well-maintained and very quite. Even though I was in the middle of NYC, I couldnt even hear the street noise from my room...now that is amazing. The housekeeping staff did a great job at keeping the room neat, tidy and fully supplied with lotion, shampoo, etc. Even though the room was a bit small, it never felt too claustrophobic. The beds were clean, soft and comfortable - I almost forgot I was in a hotel bed. The concierge lounge was really nice, well-appointed, and the food was fresh and tasty. The staff was friendly and greeted me with a Hello! as I returned to the hotel, or passed them in the hallways. The doormen were helpful in arranging cars and suggesting restaurants in the area. Everyone truly made me feel at home. Id highly recommend - this hotel is truly a find in NYC.
The hotel is excellent. Our experience started at the check-in desk and the young lady who greeted us was outstanding. Probably the best I have ever been treated at any hotel. She was very friendly and upon discovering it was our first stay in NYC helped select us a room with an excellent view and talked about a few of the things going on in the area over the weekend. The room was very modern, beautiful and well laid out. We had our children with us so we were given a room where the bathroom had more privacy. The overall experience was excellent and I would recommend the hotel to anyone.
This was our first time staying at the Renaissance Hotels. From check-in to check-out, it was delight experience. Staffs were very friendly. Hotel lobby on the ground level had an nice aroma all the time. rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. They have Aveeda amenities, including toothbrush. We were celebrating our birthday and had a wonderful time due in part because every time we entered our room, we felt like we were coming home.
Beautiful rooms! Very friendly staff. I was in NY to sightsee with my mom for her 75th birthday. The hotel is centrally located and just a short walk from Penn Station. Our room wasn’t available until after 4:00 which wasn’t ideal as I requested an early check in and arrived around 1:00 but that is the case with most hotels. Our room was nice and the view was beautiful. I didn’t pay for an upgraded view but the manager must have given us one. The manager also left strawberries and little treats in our room for my mom’s birthday, which was a nice gesture. I was very impressed by the entire staff at this hotel. I would recommend this location to everyone and stay there again.
Everything was wonderful here - from check in to check out. All personnel were extremely helpful, pleasant and courteous. A hiccup was the keyless entry didnt work all the time and then my room key stopped working. Our room was wonderful, the view terrific. I will say that the food at the club could have been a tad better. The warm apps werent so warm. Maybe a warmer near by. They ran out of clean silverware - used plastic until they were cleaned. Also, having the same food all the time (except for one or two items) became boring. Loved the room service menus name. Loved the hang tag for breakfasts name. I would absolutely stay here again.
We had a great stay. No problems whatsoever. The staff were all very friendly. The decor was very stylish and hip, as the hotel was located in the fashion district with many fashion themes throughout the hotel. The lobby smelled wonderful and made me not want to leave. The staff were all very friendly, professional and accommodating.
Good hotel but tonight there is no internet and every time I call I get we dont know when its going to be back answer. Its 11.55pm and Im going to need to go into the office coz there are no connections nearby that I can use.Outside this rooms are good however this no internet situation is making me angry. Its criminal for such a chain to sell itself as a business travelers hotel and not have a solution in place for this internet problem.
Understanding this hotel was re-done a few years ago I was surprised at how worn some things of the hotel were for the amount we paid each night. Dialing 0 for any assistance was unanswered. Concierge and check in staff were very nice.View from our room was great.Bed was comfortable.Lower lobby music is very loud.Dont expect drawers in the room.
I loved everything about this hotel! The location is incredible.I loved the skyline views from our room and loved being able to look out at the action around Madison square garden. It made our trip so convenient as we walked everywhere and then when we wanted to get the subway - Penn station is right beside the hotel. The hotel decor is really cool and on trend. The food in the rooftop bar in Rock&Reillys was really tasty and it has a great atmosphere. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Also the rooms are spacious and the bed was super comfy! Really loved this hotel and will definitely stay again.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Renaissance as we have before. Overall, our stay was fantastic and exceeded standards. We really enjoy staying at this property. It is right in the heart of things...yet you feel like youre in an oasis while inside. The hotel appears to be up to date and offers decent amentities, along with the rooms appealing to the eye and providing comfort. The lobby bar on the 6th floor and outside bar in the back on the 5th floor are worth visiting. Great service from the bartenders. The front desk staff is also very pleasant and helpful, along with the management staff.
Nice hotel. Front desk staff is rude, but rest of staff great. For four days asked them to make change for me. They said they couldn’t and told me too see bellman. They don’t have change to break a hundred. Surely there is change to operate bar/restaurant. It is a disservice to their colleagues who I want to tip. They are just lazy. Also club lounge has no hot water or tea. I asked every day and was told no. What is up with that? It’s a basic amenity and I have never seen this in the hundreds of Marriott properties I have stayed at as Life Time Titanium. This stuff is easy to fix and Morning staff on 1/28 needs major attitude adjustment.
From the moment you enter the hotel, the bellmen assist you with the elevator to the lobby. The reception staff is professional and friendly. The restaurant and terrace bar staff are very helpful. The food and drink are good, and fairly priced. My room was extremely clean and comfortable. I found the location to be ideal for my activities. The concierge has wonderful ideas and she is very up-beat.
The rooftop bar Versa is hosting a private event tonight and allowing the DJ to play amplified dance music so loudly it’s shaking my windows on the 26th floor at 11pm. Front desk shrugged and said nothing could be done and the event would end at 12. Totally unacceptable, ruined an otherwise nice stay. I absolutely won’t be back knowing this hotel is happy to host private events that seriously inconvenience the guests.
This hotel is beautiful with excellent staff, very secure and has comfortable beds eith black out blinds and clean rooms and awesome view! We were on the 33rd floor with a view! (Rm 3309) We would definitely come stay here again if we are ever back in NYC!! Close enough to walk to Time Square and many shops and restaurants You must take the bus tour if you ever visit too! :) My two kids (17 & 22) were very impressed as well! We felt safe which was very important!
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautifully decorated, very clean, and had everything we could want. Bed was comfortable. Room was quiet. Awesome city view. Convenient to so much downtown....we walked everywhere we wanted to go, but close to public transportation if needed. Couldnt ask for anything more! Would most definitely stay here again!!!
My experience at the Renaissance Midtown was nearly perfect from start to finish. The room was reasonably spacious by NY standards, clean with a great view southwest toward NY harbor. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. I also thought our 33rd floor room was nice and quiet--which I did not anticipate in the midtown area. Candidly, it was a bit expensive, but worth it for the cleanliness of the room and facility in general, not too mention convenience of the location and friendliness of the staff. One of my better stays in Manhattan over the years. I will certainly consider the Midtown again.
Staff is really nice and hardworking. Rooms are clean and nice, but bathroom Aveda products are basic. The business lounge does not compare to most others in the brand, so if you are an elite member I would not expect standard benefits from this property. The evening happy hour had no free beer/wine, the appetizers were cheap and unhealthy (predressed soggy salad and popcorn), no coffee except during short breakfast hours (ended at 9am). If there is one thing that is great about NYC is the access to great healthy food, so this hotel needs to make an effort to offer some.
This hotel doesnt provide breakfast to elite members when the lounge is closed. While this note is buried in Marriotts terms & conditions, you cant expect guests to read the terms before each stay or memorize the names of the 25 special hotels that refuse to give breakfast to elite members.
Great location essentially right across from Macys. Rooms are compact but nicely decorated with a modern garment district theme. Upper floors will have nice views.Minus point is insufficient sound insulation. I could hear conversations next door quite clearly. The club lounge is fairly basic with an egg burrito and beverages from the fridge.Check-in and service was great; I was able to get an early check-in. Bonus points to the bell staff who spotted my dropped phone!
Newly renovated building, great beds, small rooms. Still on shake down, no hot water one day, plumbing issues - but the staff was great offered to let us use another room for showers. The staff here make this a great place to stay, they are amazing, attentive, fun, and very helpful. The security is excellent. I was here for a business trip, but this would be a great hotel for a fun visit to NYC, next door to Madison Square garden, a short walk to Times Square. Perfect location for touring the city. Lively, fun bar on the premises! Great hotel to party from.
We love the location, one block from MSG and Penn station. Excellent service, top notch! Fabulous club lounge in lobby bar. Satisfying breakfast buffet. Our only gripe with this hotel is that while the rooms are beautiful, they are not functional. No drawers, not a single hook for a coat. It’s not a problem when you are traveling solo but when there are two of you there aren’t enough places to put your things. No bedside or dresser drawers. Only a small closet. Lastly, the bathroom is very clean, sleek, attractive.... although there isn’t a traditional door - it is a frosted glass sliding door which offers zero privacy, zero sound barrier and there is no exhaust fan. Not fun when someone gets up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. You might as well have zero door and put the toilet beside the bed. It’s ridiculous.
You are welcomed in to this very trendy fun hotel with a smile. The hotel is cool because it is technically savvy. I loved meeting people on the elevator, because there are no buttons to push, so people seemed to want to have conversation instead which was very cool. The entire staff is helpful and kind. The rooms are BIG and you can crack open the windows to hear the awesome sound of the city below. I loved this hotel!
Hotel was exceptional. The room was great - very comfortable. The view was amazing. We ordered breakfast by hanging an order form on the doorknob - easy, convenient and delicious! Its the first place weve stayed with elevators that are smarter than people! The concierge staff recommended some wonderful restaurants and overall it was a wonderful trip!
Very nice, clean hotel. Perfect area to get all over Manhattan. Penn station/Madison square garden which lends to great subway access. The hotel itself has a great restaurant named Versa lounge. Great food and fun atmosphere for all. The room was very well set up but still NYC sized. Bathroom was the larger focus which worked for us since we had to get ready for a few dressy events. We would definitely stay here again!
This is the second or third time I stayed at this property and I was not disappointed. I expected a lot, and the staff delivered. Everyone was friendly and helpful, going out of their way to be so. The bellhop even gave us a recommendation for an Italian restaurant which was fantastic. We got the rooms we asked for, and everything was neat, clean and comfortable. Rock & Reillys is great for breakfast and happy hour before going out. Great hotel
Such a wonderful experience! The hotel is stunningly beautiful with wonderful views of the city. The rooms are clean with a modern aesthetic. Every single person we encountered at the hotel was so friendly and helpful. Thank you, Renaissance Hotel, for making our New York weekend truly amazing. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else when I visit New York in the future.
The Renaissance is not only a beautiful hotel but their staff is amazing. The Renaissance like every other business had to adjust how they operate due to this pandemic. Not only did they do a great job at keeping up with guidelines their staff never once stopped being enthusiastic and diligent with any requests during my extended stay.Thank you!
Loved the stylish design and modern luxury of our Skyline Queen Queen room. It felt like a home away from home. The beds were beyond comfortable. We slept great with the remote control blackout shade. And the bathroom was nicely renovated and very clean. Id 100% book this property again! The smart elevator did take some time getting used to.
We chose this property due to its proximity to MSG as we were attending a concert there. It was a very short 2 minute walk and we were inside the Garden. Hotel is definitely attempting to be hip and stylish. Lobby was lively and on the louder side. We used suite nights to be upgraded to a terrace room. Room itself was on the smaller side, but the terrace was huge. Had we known it was located on the eight floor, I would have saved the suite nights. Not much of a view and it was February so hanging on a terrace was not an option. We needed to switch rooms due to needing a tub as opposed to the shower our room had. After calling the front desk we were told that this would not be an issue as there was a room available and ready. 2 plus hours later and after talking to 5 different individuals we were able to move to another room. There was a definite lack of communication and zero sense of urgency. Had the staff set the proper expectation that the room change would not be immediate and in fact take several hours to complete, our frustration level would have been minimized. As someone who spends too much time in hotels, I realize that these types of things are not immediate. Having to deal with staff with condescending attitudes, however, is not something I am accustomed to or very tolerant of.The property was clean, the rooms were well appointed and clean (exception was a used band aid found sticking to a corner of the bed). Club lounge was well stocked with beverages and the bfast items and evening snacks were high quality. Checkin experience was quick and efficient. With the exception of the room snafu it was a very good experience and we would definitely consider staying again.
From start to finish another excellent stay at the Renaissance Midtown! While a shorter trip this go around, there was no other property that entered in to the picture. The outstanding customer service at this property is amazing. The goal of every person from every team at this hotel is to make your stay incredible and this was another example of this. As a traveler you want to feel welcome and this property certainly does that. Even before your stay begins reaching out to you to see how things are, anything that they can do...is top notch...thanks to Ranie and Daniel for reaching out. Many thanks to Sebastian and Daniel for being so accommodating at check-in...top notch customer service guys! Kudos to you both for assisting with an early arrival and providing guidance and recommendations for my stay. To Mishka and Gilles, thanks for checking in to make sure everything was in order...certainly appreciate your efforts as well.To all - outstanding customer service across the board...this property is truly amazing.
Overall the hotel was nice but I expected more from the club room in terms of food selections and the size of the room was on the smaller size for a category 6 hotel. We stayed at the Sheraton Tribeca last holiday and while there were issues with the room, the club room was larger and had more food options throughout the day not just during breakfast and evening snack. For example they didn’t have hot water or tea bags just coffee outside of the breakfast service. Which for an international hotel chain is odd. It is close to most of the trains and popular NYC destinations. The service overall was good and the lobby bar provided excellent service.
The hotel is very modern and clean. I love the showers, but if you are sharing a room, just know that the shower wall with the bedroom is frosted glass. Perfectly fine for a couple, but not so much for coworkers or anyone whom you dont want to see naked. The elevators also dont have buttons on the inside, you call your elevator from a screen outside and tell it which floor you want to go to. The staff is great and friendly, its in walking distance of Penn Station and has a fairly good view.
This is a beautiful hotel. It is up to date. The staff are very nice professional and helpful. The rooms are clean convenient and have everything you need including a mini fridge and coffee maker. Room service is great and quick! I love that you can check in your bags before you even check in. Which is great so you dont have to carry them in the city. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay the next time we are in the city.
From top to bottom, the staff at the Renaissance New York Midtown hotel provided EXCELLENT service, beautiful accommodations, and attention to all details and requests for our daughters wedding weekend. From the beginning, we were assured that the event would be a memorable and successful one, even though we were planning from out of state. Every possible scenario was covered, we enjoyed all areas of the hotel where we celebrated the ceremony, cocktails, reception, and Sunday breakfast. The guests and wedding party spilled out onto the rooftop patio for spring cocktails, and beautiful photos with views of the Empire State, and NYC skyline. Staff was incredibly friendly, available and reassuring throughout. Our guests enjoyed the great location to all the sights of NYC, were happily accommodated and had a wonderful time. Wow! We couldnt have asked for more!!
Beautiful hotel in a great location. Rooftop bar is fantastic. Food for our meetings was great, and service was excellent. My room is nice, clean, and in excellent repair. Decor is modern and sleek. Awesome workout access to planet fitness. Elevator operation caused a lot of headaches for many people requiring touch pad and key access.
I stayed at the Renaissance NY Midtown for a week and truly enjoyed it. It was the first time Ive stayed at a Renaissance hotel and the experience was great. From the time of check-in to the time of check-out. Ranie and Cindy at the front desk made myself and my colleague feel very welcomed from Ranies sarcastic but respectful demeanor. They always checked on us to ensure our stay was going well and always there to assist when we had questions. The bell hops Guy and Martin also gave us great pointers on where to go after work, in regards to places to eat, drink and have a good time. My colleague and I have stayed at many hotels over the year and must say that the Renaissance NY Midtown is the best thus far. The only issue we had with our stay was the amount of outside guests during sporting events or shows at Madison Square Garden. It would be nice if the hotel blocked off one or two elevators for outside guests and allowed paying guests to have one or two elevators specifically for them. I say this because during the times of the extra personnel entering the hotel, it slows down the elevators and causes a lot of congestion. I dont understand why this was or has been overlooked by the hotel. I understand the dynamic and financial gain of the hotel being in such close proximity to the Garden, but ensuring that your paying hotel guests are comfortable and not inconvenienced due to outside guests is elementary. All in all, I still enjoyed my stay and this one issue would not discourage me from staying again, its just my two cents.
Stayed for two nights in June, 2016. All staff very friendly, quirky, helpful, and extremely nice. Exceptional, in fact. New decor with a fashion industry theme throughout the common areas, elevator, halls, and rooms. Great beds, loved the room decor and the partially see through wall of the shower, where you can look out the window on the other side of the room and be partially seen by your partner on the other side. Excellent indoor/outdoor bar/restaurant. They knew it was my wifes birthday, and we were sent a very nice bottle of wine, chocolate-covered pretzels, and a signed card! Extremely well thought-out hotel. Easily one of the best stays weve ever had and we will definitely return and recommend this hotel to our friends.
Great hotel located in the heart of Midtown. Close by Penn Station and all connecting subways. The hotel is modern chic, well appointed rooms, if you are Marriott Elite be sure to add to your reservation as the separate lounge they have is great. Staff are friendly and courteous. The only reason I could not give it a 5 star rating is that they need to improve their keen eye for details and hospitality. I come from hotel background and it is the little details that make the difference. For example, make sure there are two robes, change the robe from winter ones to summer ones, make sure the irons are not rusted, make sure you have full and complete ironing boards, a clothes steamer available, the main bathroom should be clean at all times. It is the little details that make the difference. Nonetheless, I would stay here again. Management, just up your game. You have a great hotel. Enjoy your stay!
This is a well designed, stylish, and cozy hotel in a great location with some management issues, especially around check in.Given that this hotel is frequented by high tier guests they NEED to extend checkout only until 3 pm so that rooms for new guests can be ready by 4 pm (which is already late). As a gold member who had requested an early check in we had to wait past 4, could not be given an exact check in time, and could not be checked in until past the guaranteed time. Quite a few other guests were frustrated as well. I have stayed at other properties and never had to deal with a situation like this. Front staff said they wished the could ‚use a magic wand‘ to get the room ready on time and I pointed out that it is not about that (making the guest seem a bit unreasonable actually) but rather managing housekeeping flow better. No welcome drink / snack offered either despite the delay and we only got a voucher for breakfast after ‚debating‘ a bit with manager (which I hate to do). It stressed us out unnecessarily and put an emotional dent on the whole day since we had little time to get ready to go out for dinner. Also service staff knocked and wanted to enter twice despite privacy signs and requested slightly late checkout. Unfortunately, the free lunch at Versa was mediocre in terms of quality and the day before the atmosphere was rather sports-bar like so we ended up going out which was much nicer. In sum, I would return again perhaps but the deeper issues at this hotel need to be addressed since we were also not the only dissatisfied customers during our stay judging from lobby and elevator conversations that we overheard.

2022-05-12We had an excellent stay at the Renaissance, especially enjoying our 32nd floor room with an expansive Manhattan view. The rooms are not large but are stylish and well-appointed. The bed is comfortable, we never heard noise from other rooms, and the bathroom had ample amenities. The staff was always friendly, welcoming, and offering to help. The hotel bar is a great place to relax, but be prepared for pricey cocktails. If you have access to the club lounge, the breakfast buffet is generous. The hotel is close to multiple subway lines, as well as Penn Station and Macys, and not a bad walk to the theater district.

2022-05-26Great stay here. Hotel definitely a four star it got bumped up to five star because of the incredible location. It is literally walking distance to all of the tourist sites and five minutes away from Penn station that connects to everything. Would definitely be coming back!Only thing is room service had to be requested though and not provided everyday due to covid policy I think?

2022-05-18Beautiful hotel with a great staff for a great price. I don’t think you can find a better hotel in midtown for this price. I highly recommend the king room with skyline view. $85 a day extra for parking I think it’s well worth it. Room service was a little pricy however they delivered our food hot fresh and fast. This will be my new go to hotel in Manhattan close to all the shops, theaters and food!

2022-07-02I read reviews for every hotel and want to share my positive experience. The hotel is modern and has a nice bathroom. Manager (I think Joshua was their name) gave us a city view upgrade. Location is great and you won’t want to miss Liberty Bagels down the street.

2022-03-27Great in every way except one. The good is that the service was friendly, the room is perfectly comfortable and clean, and the location is honestly fantastic. You are right in the center of midtown, which is great if you only have a limited time to explore the city. The con is that the hotel restaurant has an open roof and plays loud music for private events on the weekend, which means that you end up having trouble sleeping until the music stops around midnight. They do turn things down if you complain but there really shouldn’t be any noise if you are staying at the 20+ floor of a hotel. My traveling companion liked this hotel so I’m still giving it three stars, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here if noise has ever kept you from sleeping.

2021-12-05Honestly the best hotel I have ever stayed in!!!! Made my whole NY experience a memorable one thanks to this hotel. I would say not to even read the bad reviews because this hotel is totally is the best in every way. We were so lucky to meet with a very kind gentleman who let us check in at the exact time without a delay. The lobby area was so relaxing and comfortable and also the bedroom had a very soothing touch to it. It was so quiet and peaceful. I stayed at the 20th floor. There was housekeeping that entered the room before the check in time so would recommend to use the tag “Privacy needed” when closing the door. Absolutely the best experience and the hotel.

2022-06-23Dont forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a room. This website will compare hundreds of booking websites and typically will have rooms a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of the most well known in this area. Ive been staying here for a very long time. If you choose this place you definitely wont be disappointed.Loved my stay!

2022-05-18Excellent hotel. Had a room at 36th floor with an amazing view to the south of Manhattan, the Statue of liberty, Hudson river and Hudson yards. Great service from all the staff. Nice interior all around. And perfect location for exploring Manhattan. A really luxurious and pleasant stay. Thank you Renaissance.

2022-06-02Very poor experience in this hotel, we decided to check out earlier and go to another one.We came in late on a Saturday night and the area the hotel is located in was a complete mess. Same story every night and morning after. The night we arrived, after walking into the building we had to found out ourselves the reception was located at the 6th floor, no valet service whatsoever. We were sold a fake room upgrade at the check in desk, which we already performed online via app - we eventually ended up in the very same room category we booked in the first place.Saturdays the hotel transforms into a noisy club for teenagers which makes it very unpleasant if you’re expecting quiet and a peaceful place to rest after a long flight.Room service for some reason stops at 11pm, but even calling in earlier didn’t help for us. We were told by the front desk to order online at some url, which we did and nothing happened until midnight when we were woken up by room service: note we ordered a chocolate bar and a bottle of water. The room was very cozy but definitely too small. We could barely fit our luggage in there and there were no bathroom amenities except the hairdryer.Honestly I’m very disappointed by the overall value for money ratio of this hotel and I don’t get how it can have such a good rating. Maybe we were just unlucky or simply the wrong kind of guests for this facility.

2022-05-30Amazing hotel. Clean, and the staff I had contact with were very friendly. Love the bathrooms and room! Only negative is they are really not very responsive on the chat and arriving at 11pm my room was still not assigned and no digital key. Seems to me a NY thing as all other hotels always have my key ready when the room is.
