We traveled from Long Island. The room was ready when we got there - it was clean. We are not in this area often but this was the second wedding in this area so we were happy that host had a room block at this hotel. I am going to look at this venue for my daughters wedding in the future and if it is the one we pick, we will block rooms for our guests at this hotel.
The hotel was nice and clean. The staff members were helpful, though they seemed overworked. We missed having a hot breakfast in the morning, though we still enjoyed the complimentary grab and go breakfast. A big complaint for us was that the pool was closed, supposedly due to the State of NY not certifying it for re-opening.
At first glance, this hotel is very nice. Great location, lots to do near it (shops, food, etc.). The suites are spacious and the staff is awesome. But the suite I was in was not very clean. High touch points, like faucets, were not cleaned properly (you could feel residue underneath). Other things, like the side table next to the couch and the dishes, were not clean. We wiped everything down with wipes as we usually do but it still was annoying to have to clean so much for a stay at a hotel.
I stayed here for 5 or almost six weeks. The room was nicely furnished and roomy. It was pretty quiet and I liked they had an outdoor space, but housekeeping was terrible and they did not keep their end of the deal. They said they would come 2x a week and they came 1x in all that time and didn’t even vacuum. Had to call and complain and they came by the next day! If you’re going to save on linens and housekeeping this is NOT the time to do so and as far as I know my company was Paying full price…
We traveled to Poughkeepsie for a college visit to SUNY New Paltz for our oldest son. This was the first time our family stayed in a hotel since prior to the pandemic. So, we were all a bit anxious about our stay. The professionalism of the staff and the cleanliness of the property put our minds immediately at ease. The location was also convenient to main roads (and adjacent to a Starbucks and a great Japanese restaurant!). We do want to make a special mention of Jessica who helped us book our room on the phone and checked us in upon arrival. She was warm, welcoming and extremely helpful. We will definitely book this property when we return to the area and will recommend this property to friends who have students at New Paltz. Keep up the great work!
After a difficult red eye, which included one layover, screaming toddler right in front of me, and a broken chair that wouldnt recline, we rented a car and drove 2 hours to Poughkeepsie. I had requested early check in and knew it wasnt a guarantee. We arrived even earlier than I expected, but was ever so grateful that we were able to check in and rest before we headed out to our college tour that was scheduled later that day. The room was spacious and clean, and every staff member I encountered was very courteous and helpful. If Im ever in this area again, I will be sure to return.
I recently spent two nights at the Residence Inn at Poughkeepsie. The rooms were comfortable in size. I felt that there could have been a bit more lighting in the rooms. The customer service was excellent. I dealt with a Kyle and a Kathy and they were great. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Marriott Poughkeepsie residence inn is far below what I expect of a Marriott. Note the following partial list of problems:Very poor room Lighting and depressing in the suite; No room to maneuver in the room and seems like too small or poor design;Horrible breakfast (Covid19 excuse is lame);Only a queen bed (as opposed to a King or two queen beds that seem normal at other Marriotts); Filthy conditions in outdoor areas, never picking up trash from outdoor trash cans for days in a row and a truly disgusting grill in outdoor area that hasn’t been cleaned in many months I would guess. No poop bags in the dog walk area and dog crap all over;Dog area too small unless you want to trespass on the IBM property;Poor water pressure; Not enough drawer space; No place for suitcases;Bathroom shower is a tub shower and Not very nice;Pink mold on bathroom floor by tub;Bathroom Sink (1 not 2) very cramped for the two of us;One small soap; and common dispensers for shower (what about for a bath?)Pool was closed; No Dish soap for kitchen - had to ask for that; andKitchen scrubber was filthy when we got in and had to ask for a replacement.
If you need a place to stay for several days this is your place. Its an affordable multiple day/night stay option. There is a complete kitchenette, nice cable TV selections to include Prime and Netflix (if you are already a member), and the location is great. If lots of people running around above you is annoying then you will want the top floor...and you may want to choose the front of the building in selecting your room because in the back there are late night tailgate parties and loud music coming from the parked cars. The pool and sauna are closed but you can use the gym with an appointment. Fair enough.
Only stayed one night on en route to Vermont. Large room which allowed the kids to sleep in the living room and give us a private bedroom. Good for a little space from toddler and baby! The pool is closed due to covid as is the breakfast buffet, but they give you a bag with several food options. Starbucks across the parking lot for starting the next days drive is always a bonus. Peloton in the little gym however was unable to sneak away to use it.
I enjoyed a lovely stay at the Residence Inn Poughkeepsie. The room was spotless, the staff marvelous, and the location excellent. I always prefer having a Starbucks close -- particularly now when COVID limits breakfast options to a rather mediocre grab and go bag. One tip: a local muffin or bagel is preferable to cheap yogurt or a breakfast sandwich made in a factory. But that aside, it was a fabulous stay.
The hotel needs to stop using Covid excuse for not providing cleaning service, even for guests staying for a week. Or at least provide partial refund for not proving the service. There are ample ways to provide cleaning service without putting the staff or guest in danger by simply working out a time when no one would be in the room to allow cleaning. Come on, it’s Marriott so stop being so cheap!
Just spent two nights at the Residence Inn at Poughkeepsie. My family had a wonderful stay. The indoor pool water was the right temperature and there was plenty of outdoor space to just sit outside and relax, BBQ, etc... The grab and go breakfast (due to Covid) was pretty ample consisting of juice, water, oatmeal, a muffin, etc.. The front desk staff that I met, both Kathy and Kyle were so friendly and helpful and really helped to make our stay more pleasant. Will definitely go back again.
Great experience overall, staff was helpful and friendly. Included breakfast was disappointing because of Covid regulations. Bagged up fruit cup, muffin, yogurt and apple juice. Dogs were allowed for $100 additional for the entire stay weather it was 2 days or 7 days which was great as some places weve stayed charge per dog/per night. Kitchenette was super convenient and useful for our stay, highly recommend in this area.
Start off with plumbing issues, rude staff, dog attack, additional rude staff, and no amenities when other hotels are offering them... Follow this up with a room rate hike when extended beyond the original reservation (after 12 weeks of already staying at the property) and chalk it all up to a review of never staying at this property again. Very poorly run, poorly maintained and poorly staffed Marriott property. I would think if an audit was done from the parent company, they would feel the same.
They have some of the nicest people here. The place is is close to farms and tourist places, has restaurants at walking distance too. It was a bummer that the pool and restaurants are still not open, but understandable. And they have Peloton bike in the gym, which I feel is a great perk.
Treated extremely unprofessional by one of the staff members, the other staff were Great. There were small minor problems that definitely could have been overlooked but the profiling my husband and myself, while my Teenage niece visited was unfortunate and unprofessional by a member of the staff.
The Residence Inn is so clean, that is the first thing we noticed when we walked in. The hotel is clean all over they were constantly cleaning. I loved it. The room we had was pretty spacious for a hotel room. It had all the conveniences of home. We needed a kitchen and it had all we actually would use to cook I was surprised. The tv swiveled which helped us because we were in the sitting area and the bed area they were opposite so the tv practically had to do a 180. The room is so modern and comfy not like a office. It looks like an apt. rental. granite counters, very pretty. Lots of drawers which we needed and a nice big roomy closet, had 2. The bathroom shower was so enjoyable the pressure was perfect, never wanted to get out. The spas water wasnt burning hot in the pool area so I soaked my legs for a long while. We used the mini gym loved it, it was never crowded, when I went I was always alone. The fire place in the lobby so pretty and warm, we sat there one day for a while, nice seating and not too light. The breakfast was very good for continental breakfast, my daughter loved it, a lot to choose from. clean and fresh. They also had a guest mix a couple days a week with dinner, hey food makes anyone happy and it was complimentary. nice. Omg the staff so well mannered and polite. All of them, thats the truth I have never been anywhere where everyone was nice. Very excellent hotel any need you had they took care of within 10 min. for real, we did feel appreciated there. Its worth the money and more.
We had a terrible nights stay at the Residence Inn. First, the pool is still closed even though the pandemic is practically over and other hotel chains have their pool open. The walls are paper thin and you can hear guests all night long. The basketball court is outdoors and outside of rooms so we could hear people partying all night. The breakfast buffet is still closed and a sub-par, unhealthy grab n go breakfast was provided instead- Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich and hostess-like blueberry muffin. We paid full price for sub-par service and amenities that didnt exist even though they are still advertised on the website. Choose a different hotel.
Most friendly and helpful receptionist ever, so lovely and a great first impression of hotel. If nothing else had gone right with hotel this lady ensured I would have left with a good impression. Fortunately everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean, stylish and roomy. The complimentary breakfast was beyond good. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I could go on but suffice it to say I was very pleased with my stay, and although short and sweet this time, I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.
The hotel has a convenient location off a main road with access to restaurants and shopping in Poughkeepsie. It is quiet and well run. Our family was in town for a weekend college event and we saw that there were family groups and wedding groups staying at the location. The pool/spa and breakfast were busy but the hotel was generally quiet. The rooms are spacious and nice. Its really nice to have a suite with a full kitchen and living room area. and Everything ran smoothly. I would recommend this hotel.
We visited NY for a wedding, and they had a block reserved at the Residence Inn. Our host is a great judge of character, and so we made reservations for two nights. We had a two-room suite with a kitchen and two bathrooms. Lovely room to share with a teenage daughter who loves to have her own space. All of the staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. We appreciated the clean rooms when we returned each day. Thank you so much for making our first time in NY so memorable and pleasant!
We stayed in a two bedroom suite for our stay. The hotel was very neat and updated. Disappointingly, the room itself was slightly outdated. Small TVs, room had a musky odor (not terrible, but noticeable on entry), bed was worn and slightly uncomfortable(not unsleepable but slight stiffness in the morning). Staff here is wonderful and makes up for it. Extra sheets, pillows, and an additional rollaway bed arrived almost immediately after request. Breakfast was excellent. Something Im not accustomed to with complimentary breakfasts. Room was a good size for our group and the 2 bathrooms were great. Kitchen updated but older appliances, no big deal for me. No ice machines since the rooms have one in the freezer so turn that on immediately if needed. Takes about 2 days to fill the tray.I had a good stay here, would stay here again despite my issues with the room.
I was at Residence inn Poughkeepsie with family to spend the weekend with my son who works in the area. I have stayed here a few times before and it has always been a very positive experience. This time was no exception. We were received very warmly by the front desk staff Monserrat ( sorry if I misspelled). She was very helpful and accommodating and set a positive tone for the rest of our stay. The hotel is very clean and appears to have been recently upgraded. I will always stay here whenever I’m in the area. Keep up the good work
I like this location andvthecstaff is great. There could be improvements to the breakfast area flow and table setup. The elevator is central in the building so some walking if rooms are on the ends. Pool is nice, with Jacuzzi. The rooms are a great plan with complete kitchenette. We made our Thanksgiving side dishes ahead of time there!
Really impressed with this hotel at the outskirts of Poughkeepsie. The front office team were great in getting us settled prior to the 4 PM checkin time. We used the shuttle, and it was small, but the driver was excellent and knew exactly where every spot we were looking to go. Also had the shuttle driver pick us up at 10:30 PM and bring us back to the hotel. Rooms were large, well appointed and the beds were really quite comfortable. Breakfast was complete with waffle stations, and complete American buffet style.
We stayed at the Residence Inn Poughkeepsie as it was Family Weekend at Marist College and we were visiting our daughter. Check-in was efficient and went very smoothly. All of the property staff were attentive, friendly and very helpful....and the special welcome table for the Marist Parents was a nice surprise. Our suite was well maintained and spacious and the complimentary breakfast offered several delicious options. We will definitely stay here again when visiting our daughter in the future. Thank you for a wonderful weekend getaway!
We stayed at the Residence Inn for 3 days, and I will definitely stay there in the future. The suite was clean and modern. The layout was perfect for my family. The breakfast buffet had a variety of choices, and it added to our stay. There is a very nice pool and hot tub. There was even a laundry room on the premises. The staff was friendly and professional. I was very impressed with all of their accommodations.,
Staff are great to deal with. Always friendly nice and clean. Good breakfast the mixers are good here also. Pool and fitness center are nice and clean. Suites are homey and inviting. Would recommend this hotel to everyone. I have stayed here more that a couple weeks with work and never had any issues.
Super comfortable rooms, with a friendly staff especially during breakfast. Kim and Brandon were awesome. Georgia who checked us in was very professional and got us set up for our stay. Great food at breakfast, updated, clean rooms that are super modern. Highly recommended for extended stay or if you need more room outside a standard hotel room. Also, great value!
Not one complaint about this hotel. The staff was great. The room was great. Breakfast was fresh and perfect for business travelers and a quick bite. Everything was comfortable and I felt safe. I have stayed at this hotel before nd I would stay again if I am in the area.
I stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn in Poughkeepsie as I was visiting FDR sights and having dinner at the Culinary Institute of America. The hotel was extraordinarily clean, comfortable and convenient. The rooms, as well as the public areas, including the breakfast room and the lobby were spotless. The room setup with its couches was comfortable and the bathroom counters were spacious enough for all my stuff. Everything I wanted to see was very close by. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend the Marriott Residence Inn if you are staying in the area.
The hotel is very nice and in great condition the rooms are newly renovated the facility is very nice. We had a wo room suite and it was gat. We had a problem that we left a iPhone charger and spoke to two people the first literally an hour after our check out . The staff at the desk was unresponsive i and never called back. A call back and handling of these situation wold have been nice as because the property was excellent
I had to stay here just over six months when my water heater malfunction and caused my house iron heaters explode when I was traveling on business. I simply loved everything about hotel. It was even better because my homeowners policy footed the bill. This property comes highly recommended.
I have never stayed at a Residence Inn but oh my goodness! This is by far the nicest chain hotel Ive stayed at. We got upgraded to a two bedroom suite and it was beautiful! It had a fireplace, a kitchen area with seating, a living room area, and two private bedrooms each with their own bathroom. Everything was clean and brand new. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Very kid friendly! It is in a great location by endless stores and restaurants. I had an amazing experience here and would HIGHLY recommend!
Tasteful, spacious, pleasant. Fast elevators and pleasant staff. Many amenities nearby. We were in the area for a baseball tournament, and this was a place to come back to, exhausted after a long day, that made it easy to relax. If you need to head out particularly early in the morning, make sure youve got a breakfast plan (which is easy, with a kitchen in the room and supermarkets nearby), but otherwise everything is right there for you.
The air quality in the room could have been better breakfast could have tasted better though it’s complimentary and the heat outside should not the match inside in the pool area especially with it being indoor. The issues were minor things that can be worked on and fixed but the overall stay was great. I checked in around 11ish on 6/29/18 that young man was excellent am so sorry I don’t remember his name he’s 21 looks 15 looks like he’s of a different nationality by way of parents but he was pleasant, courteous, professional, honest, and knowledgeable, management needs to keep an eye on him he has phenomenal potential for leadership.
The hotel itself is modern, clean and well maintained. The staff at the complimentary breakfast were attentive and polite, always coming by to take away my plate when I finished. The housekeeping staff earns particular kuddos from me. I accidentally left an expensive night-time dental applicance in my room, but when calling the next day was informed that they had found it. I was very relieved that the staff was alert and recognized it as something not to be thrown into the trash.
The hotel itself is beautiful and accommodated my house hold. However, my room was not cleaned, bugs were on on the carpet and our AC wasnt working. I was here for a conference and spent limited time in the room except for the 5 hours of sleep each night. I did ask for someone to come in the room to clean and check AC due to me only being in the room from 1am to 7am Im not sure if they did or not, at 1 in the morning all I want to do is sleep.
I was there for a business trip to West Point Military Academy. The drive is a distance about 31 miles and I would recommend the scenic country route as apposed to the highway. Hotel is in a great location, Starbucks, Bonsai Sushi, Table Talk Diner, Pier 1 Imports, and a yogurt shop are directly in front of hotel. GREAT location near restaurants, shopping and historic sites. The hotel is what you would expect from a Residence Inn chain. I believe they may be phasing out the evening socials which is somewhat of a disappointment because its nice when you are a business traveler and not having worry about dinner for a few nights a week. Hotel staff is somewhat friendly, most were but sometimes no greeting at all. Housekeeping staff was horrible. The room kitchen suite had food left in trash from previous customer and red sticky stuff on the counter, toaster and outlets. I just cleaned it myself. One morning the housekeeping staff in cleaning the rooms for turnover left 2 open full trash bags in the hallway for 2 days. I had to inform the front desk and it was immediately remedied. It was an issue with a guest next door to keep slamming the door 15 or more times a day, my sister came with me and she was there during the day.The fronst desk just said he would be leaving soon, but he did NOT. Overall guest experience was nice, checking was excellent, the lady gave me a lot of helpful information in reference to the area. Housekeeping just needs to be restructured and properly trained. A greeting and a smile goes a long way in customer service.
This was one of the worst hotel stays I have ever had! This was to be a joyous occasion son graduating from college. The customer services was terrible at the Poughkeepsie Residence Inn by Marriott. From the moment I enter the hotel for our room I was hit by an odor. The carpets were stained by the door. The room itself was in terrible condition. The couch where my loved one was expected to sleep was cover in stains of God knows what probable body fluids, The microwave was stained cracked and looked at first glance like a bug was on the inside. There was hair and black stains on the toilet. The sink area outside the bathroom had hair from prior guests. The shower head had a drip. It was like a tourtour device listening to it hit the tub spout every time it dripped.went to customer service 3 times, called and used mobile app with continued poor service. Needed sleeper sofa was told I had to make the bed myself look for a bag of supplies in the closet. 300.00 for the night and Im making my own bed! After it was clear this was a reservation for 3 adults. with one bedroom it would seem obvious to me that the other sleeping item would be needed. I was told 2 times the staff was busy. Which I allowed a grace period for but that is not my problem. Im the guest. I work very hard for my money and if I spend it on something I expect to be treated as if I matter. The place was obviously not staffed to handle a full capacity which I heard them tell many guest that it was full with a wedding and the graduation. Again the manager should have anticipated that and staffed accordingly. Toilet was clogged in am we had to plunge ourselves. Someone coughed over all the food that was not being supervised in dining area. Go stay elsewhere!
Great property with an amazing staff. Everyone from the front desk to dining to housekeeping was very kind, helpful and warm. Smiles a plenty all day long. The breakfast surpassed my expectations. I expected a mediocre affair with some bread and cereal. I was wrong!! Fresh waffles, different varieties of eggs, sausage, a myriad of yogurt choices, a toppings bar, oatmeal, granola, cereals, fresh fruit etc. The fruit was freshly cut up and plentiful. My kids went crazy over the individual nutella packages. They couldnt believe it was there for breakfast. The coffee was kept fresh and hot. Breakfast was a pleasant and nice surprise. The property was well kept and very clean. The rooms were extremely spacious and well stocked. It was a home away from home. We will definitely be back if we are ever in the area!
Very nice room (2 bdrm suite), great customer service, complimentary breakfast and evening social mixers M-F (however they dont have a liquor license, so no complimentary beer & wine yet). Would have been great if the guests in the room directly above me didnt let their children attempt to jump through their floor at 10-11pm, but thats not the hotels fault.
We stayed in a king suite. It was well equipped with utensils, a full fridge, oven, microwave and coffee pot. There was a desk by the entrance and a small table for eating across the way. The hotel is set back from the main road (Hwy 9) and so it is fairly quiet with minimal road noise. Check-in was easy, and the service was very good. Those who prepared appetizers on Monday evening and breakfast in the mornings were very friendly and attentive!
Extremely friendly and accommodating staff! Breakfast is great, but get there early or sitting can get sparse. Pool is wonderful, ditto Jacuzzi. Spent hours in them. Very kid friendly, even for children on the spectrum. Right up Route 9 from Poughkeepsie Galleria, where you can buy just about anything that you might happen to be missing. Texas Roadhouse nearby has great beef, ribs and DRINKS. Near F.B. Morse estate, Vassar parks are great places to go geo-caching or otherwise hiking.
I loved the fact that the room was modern and felt like home away from home, the business area helped. The two older men were very nice and punctual to take me to the Poughkeepsie station and Marist college. The Residence Inn is very close to IBM and the restaurants and shopping centers and the river, which is great. The breakfast is good and the service is very good. Loved the meet and great events, it was very nice, and sometimes after meeting you dont want to think about dinner, so i enjoyed the two events i went too.Had bad luck with the van courtesy, even though I booked 24 hours before, the guy was 15 minutes late then when he did show up, he started chatting to his colleagues, I had to spend an hour at the station for the next train even though I made sure I was 20 minutes early. When I came back no one was there to fetch me, which meant I had to wait for 20 minutes then got a taxi. Very unprofessional ,even if it free , rather not give it as a service. The cleaning service was very bad, first two days the bath tube was not cleaned, even though it was disgusting but I didnt take it too serious, one of the days I came back at 2 PM and the room wasnt cleaned but also let it go, just put the sign for no cleaning today since I wanted to rest. On Tuesday the day before I left I came back from a meeting at 5 PM to find my room dirty. The cleaning lady was in the next room 130, she said to me, she had a busy day, I then said it was fine but then she knocked 10 minutes later and she was angry at me, then reception called to tell me that she needs to leave, do I still want her to clean the room. Just because I didnt express myself about the service, was I excepted to leave my room and let them clean it, because she has to be at home.At times you will find no one at the reception, just like the last day when I needed to check out, had to wait for 5 minutes.Only stayed here because it was close to IBM and it was my first time in Poughkeepsie.
The Pluses: The entrance lobby is distinctive and quite impressive. The staff was gentle, friendly, VERY ACCOMODATING and fairly quick. The guests that I met were friendly, including their kids. The pool is wonderful, although not large nor deep, which is good for small children. It is a cheap cab ride from Metro-North/Amtrak and (I think) you can catch a bus on route 9.The minuss: The Jacuzzi needed to be fixed (and was fixed), so it was cool bubbles for a while. My in-room ice maker was frozen in the off setting and was not repaired, so we got ice from the staff and just stored that. I never did find out why my Disney Junior didnt work (I kept forgetting to ask because we were in the pool). Basic Internet is free, but you have to pay extra for higher performance to stream movies. Bummer. If it had a bar, it would have hit Beyond Excellent.
I am in the Poughkeepsie area one to two times a year and this is hands down my favorite place to stay. The pool and Jacuzzi are wonderful and my kids and eye spent several hours a day in them. I like that pets are allowed too, although I no longer have any. My children liked going up to strangers to ask to pet them. The staff is utterly serene, very helpful and tolerant. The breakfast is nice, but get down there early or youll be looking for a seat or waiting for plates and utensils.
The Residence Inn in Poughkeepsie is a great, family oriented place to stay. We choose it as a mini vacation for my husband’s 70th birthday. The children loved swimming in the pool and playing basketball at the court. We used one of the private dining areas for our large family of 16 people and also played games there. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. There is plenty to do in the city of Poughkeepsie as well as every store and restaurant imaginable!
The room was comfortable and clean overall. Service was friendly. I was there with friends and doing sightseeing in the area so the location was very convenient. I certainly would recommend staying here. The kitchen could be a little better equipped, but that is not a deal breaker.
Staying here over the past few months has been pleasant. A nice hotel upgrade or remodel along with a good location has been ideal. The staff have become increasingly helpful and accommodating. Housekeeper, Sue, is a delight and provides a fantastic room detail. Seif, Cory, Montserrah, Jessica, Georgia, along with many others - including all food service personnel are so helpful and very pleasant. Being a road warrior can be lonely at times and these folks help lighten the load ... Thanks!
Received the usual Marriott experience - which is outstanding - room was very clean and the staff was extra-friendly, as well as well trained. Breakfast was similar to other Residence inns - very good and abundant. Facility was very clean and neat - lobby looks new and the hallways look a little older, but clean and well maintained. Bedding was firm which we like.We have high expectations for Marriott properties and the Residence Inn Poughkeepsie lives up to them.
This hotel was very overpriced for other Marriott hotels we have stayed at including other Residence Hotels. Also, terribly run hotel. Found out the hard way when you say Pet Friendly. you place customers with dogs above our room and barking in the middle of the night for 15 minutes was not appreciated AT ALL. Management should have placed all the animal rooms together and not over my room. I had to contact the desk twice about the issue before the barking stopped. Then we arrived back at our room Sunday afternoon in preparation for our departure on Monday and was not able to get our room cleaned until 3:15 in the afternoon and that was only after complaining to the front desk. This is unacceptable!! We were offered no discounts as a result of these issues which is pathetic since we are Gold Elite members. I will never stay at this hotel or any in the Marriott line that is Pet Friendly What about People Friendly
Pleased with all aspects of our stay at Residence Inn in Poughkeepsie. A great location with dining a walk away. Friendly, helpful staff and clean updated surroundings. The rooms, bed and bedding were fresh and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was time saving and well presented. Good coffee as well!
Checkin staff was awesome. Polite, friendly, caring. Room was SUPER clean, up to date, fully stocked and spacious. Great location of hotel. Nice indoor pool, hot tub, billiard room. Checkout staff was awesome... sad at checkout that I had to leave, would love to have stayed longer!!
I recently completed a long term stay. I had a two bedroom suite. I thought they were suppose to be very pet friendly. They spray insecticide on the grass - not pet friendly. They do not tell guests this was done. My dogs had a reaction and suffered vomiting. I was charged an extra $250 for linens and $250 pet fee. I am just happy my pets survived. I thought they would have been more understanding. I spoke with the manager and gave them an opportunity to correct the over-charging. No change. Now I know how they are....and you do too.
There were some good aspects to the hotel - space to spread out and not too bad of a location for what we wanted to do. However, the first room we were given had not been properly cleaned after a prior guest had had an animal, most likely a cat, in the room. There were cat hairs everywhere. I am very allergic to cats. Even the front desk manager admitted that the room was unacceptably unclean and gave us another room for our second nite there. Not sure whether to really recommend the hotel or not. Save for the pet hair issue, it was a decent place to stay.
Hotel is a great place for a family get away. Staff is welcoming and accommodating Location is ideal for there are many restaurants and a CVS on same property. You can walk across the street to a wonderful shopping plaza.Free shuttle that was great for at night we could enjoy a drink at dinner without driving. This place is a gem for a family
Every employee that we saw was polite, courteous and friendly. We asked for a maintenance person to come to our room and replace the shower head as it was spraying all over the tub, he replaced the shower head almost immediately. While he was in our room, my better half asked him to sit on the bed and asked why it squeaked so much. He took the bed apart and ended up replacing the box spring as it was broken. The box spring was replaced and low and behold no squeaks. The front desk people were super helpful and polite at all times. The gentleman who took care of breakfast was absolutely outstanding. I thought of him as personality plus and he worked continuously throughout the morning. In my opinion he is an excellent employee and he should be reviewed and given a raise for his efforts.
Hotel itself is a good place to stay at. It for sure has its downfalls in Management. The GM and AGM are very rude and dont tend to listen to the guests at first, but the front desk girls, Monserrath and Dynasia are wonderful. All the housekeepers are greay. They make sure to ask about your day, some even try to make it feel more welcomed by leaving a small note. The kitchen staff are all wonderful, they make such great food. They do such a wonderful job.
I havent been to this hotel in a good while. The upgrades are truly amazing. i believe once all the upgrades are done this should a wonderful place to stay. I appreciated the front desk recognizing me as Elite member with the Marriott Convoy card and treated me as family.
The rooms are spacious and clean and the bedding is very comfortable. check in is easy. If you plan on using the pool or fitness center, be aware there is no changing room associated with these facilities. You must return to your room. Ask for a room near the facilities to avoid a long walk
The manager is beyond rude and extremely racist. Instead of asking us to be quite in the room they would rather risk not only the lives of their ‘customers’ but other people on the road. Originally we were told to have a maximum of EIGHT guest & that is exactly what we had in the room. there was no children running up and down the hallways and it was NINE:THIRTY !! absolutely HORRIBLE! do not stay here because they will charge a card you did not request to be charged and will kick you out before it hits ten pm. you have a better bet going to a motel. they are disrespectful and have no sense of customer service especially for a small get together with adults. UNIMPRESSED & honestly they need to review their staff. will never stay here again!!
I am an associate of Marriott Hotels and I would recommend this property to anyone. We stayed for 9 nights and everything from the breakfast to the amenities were all outstanding. Unfortunately we didnt get our room cleaned, but every time I needed something the housekeepers never hesitated to get it for me. Kudos to this hotel, staff was excellent.
I recently stayed at the cheaper courtyard in Poughkeepsie and I wasnt all that impressed. I didnt like the size of the room and the resteraunt was only opened 3 hours out of the day. The next night I stayed at the residence Inn and it was much much nicer. Great room sizes. Full kitchen. The bathroom is nicer. The restaurant has normal hours. It was about 50 more per night to stay at the residence but I thought it was definitely worth the extra money. Courtyard got 3 stars. Residence gets 5.
I would definitely recommend staying at the Residence Inn, Poughkeepsie. We have had very good experiences at all Residence Inns weve stayed at. This one in particular weve stayed at 3 times and would definitely return. A bit pricey, but the area of Poughkeepsie is pricey. If you want or need extra space I recommend the 2 bedroom suite. 2 bathrooms and 3 tvs. Very nice for a mid to large sized family. The staff is always friendly. The rooms are very clean. Very nice property and would highly recommend.
We were at the hotel with a large group of family members for our nieces Marist graduation. The people at the hotel, from the front desk to the general manager, could not have been more accommodating. We were able to have a patio reserved for a group gathering before heading to dinner the night before graduation. The hotel supplied us with anything we needed. In addition, I had a senior moment and didnt empty out the nightstand drawer when I packed up. The cleaning people found my clothes and jewelry and the GM contacted my brother to make sure I got everything back. Thats great service!
I was very impressed with the customer service I received particularly at breakfast. The Marriott team really went out their way to make sure that any requests were satisfied.I found the rooms very spacious, comfortable and clean. The proximity to where I was visiting could not have been any closer
Wow, we stay in tons of roadside hotels, and this one really stands out, mainly thanks to incredible service and hospitality of Sydney. We called ahead to reserve a 👶 crib, she went above and beyond and had it waiting in our room. She also gave us room 108, right next to the electric vehicle charging station. The place is 10/10, so happy! Marriott, youre crazy if you dont put Sydney on fast track to upper management!
Loved the full breakfast. Very central location for sightseeing, restaurants, area attractions, yet tucked back away from main street. Two couples shared 2 BR Suite. Comfortable beds, kitchen, good light coming in room, can walk to few places easily, Pool & hot tub were clean, and good amenities to have. Customer oriented employees. Also outside grills & patio seating not normally seen at hotels.
Very convenient to train station which is why we stayed here. Rooms are spacious and kitchen is nice to have with decent restaurants walking distance. The people were disappointing, not the usual welcome and courtesy I get at other Marriott properties. The breakfast situation is pathetic. At least on weekends, on two different stays. The selection would be decent, if they bothered to restock anything. Very small window of time too, and if you plan to eat I suggest getting there long before 9 am. Or just go out.
Having stayed at another local hotel the road and the bad experience I had the last visit we opted to change hotels even if more expensive and chose the R/I in Poughkeepsie. What a pleasant surprise and experience. Having traveled 20+yrs in the Navy I have experienced a number of places to stay but this one ranks with the best for affordability. My wife and I felt at home with pleasantry of the staff and the amenities. We knew of the free hot breakfast but was not expecting and evening social. While not a 5 star meal it was very delicious and satisfying.
The Marriott Residence Inn Poughkeepsie is a quaint hotel with warm staff and clean rooms. The hotel is also pet friendly which helped in my travel. I really was excited to learn they had a billiards room as my sister in-law and myself both enjoy the game, the table however was not close to being level, the cue sticks were broken and there was no chalk. I did not come for the pool table but if you are going to have one it should be maintained.
This Residence Inn was very worn looking, with poor lighting and unattractive common areas. Our request for a room with a nice open view or a view of the courtyard was not able to be fulfilled. Were Elite Members who made our reservation well over a month before our visit, is it really that hard to honor a request made this early? Our first room was stinking of smoke so we asked for a change which we got. The second room had a view of the parking lot and was just as dreary as the first room. The lighting was harsh and outdated. The light and fan over the cook top didnt work. The bed was comfortable so we had a good nights sleep. In the morning we couldnt wait to get out of the Residence Inn of Poughkeepsie. After a wonderful 6 night stay at the Marriott in Downtown Montreal, this stay was a big disappointment. Marriott, you can do better!
I have spent 1/3 of my year in this hotel and the staff is definitely the plus however it is a bit dated. Some of the rooms are better than the others for ambient noise. I think in that area it is one of the better hotels however the one in Fishkill is much newer and up to date.
I arrived at 4:15 PM and was that my room was not ready. I attempted to inquire as to why and was cut off and told to wait. After about 20 minutes, I re approached the desk and was told my room was ready. I checked in and to my surprise, it was a two bed room when I reserved a king. I went back to the front desk and was told I had to wait again, if I wanted my king bed. The staff then stated we are short on staff and the rooms are not clean. When I finally did get my room it was dirty, smelled and there was mold in the bathroom. I have stayed over 325 nights in Marriott properties and this one is pretty bad..
This hotel has great bones, however the sub systems make it difficult for the staff to serve the guests as well. Specifically the Reservations system does not support either a efficient check in or check out. Secondly the dining area is unnecessarily complicated between three specific areas
We had a wonderful stay at the Residence Inn Poughkeepsie. The staff were warm, friendly, and accommodating. The features and amenities were perfect for our needs. We like the cleanliness and decor. The two-bedroom suite with kitchenette and sitting room is just right for our family.
Nice location. Just off the main highway, but with a small strip mall between the hotel and the roadway so the noise wasnt as noticeable. The strip mall has a diner, a yogurt place and a few other shops. Across the driveway is CVS, Five Guys and a pizza place. The hotel is near all kinds of shopping and restaurants. Its about a 15 minute ride to FDR library. The staff couldnt be any nicer. Very pleasant and helpful.
It was truly exciting to find an accommodation that would welcome myself and my pooch! Being a new dog owner, its difficult learning that the majority of places to visit do not allow pets. I have a little chihuahua-pug mix who is completely attached to me. It does not feel like a family-getaway when we have to leave her with someone when we go on a trip, therefore having a clean, friendly and quiet place to retreat to that not only allows pets but welcomes them in the majority of places in their establishment makes me want to move in!! :) We will definitely be coming back...we even stayed an extra night due to the level of comfort we all felt in the room and hotel. Thanks for thinking of the dog-lovers!
This was my second experience staying at a Residence Inn; and again I was very satisfied. After a long day of meetings, its nice to return to such a comfortable space. I enjoyed having a separation of my work from the bedroom. The property was clean, up-to-date with modern finishes; and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful.
One of the worst hotels to stay at! Had a 2 day slumber party asked to be out somewhere where we wouldn’t disturb anyone and the place us on the second floor in the middle of the floor and kicked us out. We weren’t that loud and doing crazy things in the hallway or anything just had a few friends and they weren’t all staying in the room. They refused to give us out money back and they’re doing renovations on the hotel is crazy. This is one of the worst experiences I had in a hotel and they treated us like we were criminals a security guard played the racist card on us it was horrible and they didn’t treat us well. I am very upset and dissatisfied with they’re service will never make a mistake and stay here. They didn’t even tell us that we have to keep the noise to a minimum after a certain time. People don’t ever book a stay at this hotel especially if your planning a event with friends and family. These people are racist and treated us like animals.
Currently working in Poughkeepsie for the week and work days have been long. At Residence Inn Poughkeepsie the room is a nice place, after a long work day. A few amenities as of the gym and indoor pool. Along with the complimentary breakfast and dinner have been a pleasant experience. The staff have been attentive in keeping a full stock during serving time. The food has been good and plenty. My experience at Poughkeepsie Residence Inn has been an excellent.
You will be pleasantly surprised if you decide to stay at this particular Inn. While the accommodations exceeded our expectations, the staff was probably the best we have ever encountered. Expecting professionalism, we were taken aback by the attention to detail in the service we received. Jean, in particular, was genuine and kind. He was sensitive to our personal situation - needing a place to stay during inclement weather which left our home without power for nearly a week. Knowing our circumstances, Jean made it his mission to make sure that we were comfortable, upgrading our room to guarantee that comfort. Our stay could not have been better!
We had the pleasure of staying at the Residence Inn Poughkeepsie. The entire staff was amazing and went above and beyond to meet the needs of everyone in our party. From the front desk staff, Sydney and Jessica, to the Maintenance staff this hotel was truly amazing. Thank you for a great stay!
We have stayed at this Residence Inn before but this time was different. Every staff member we encountered was outwardly friendly and welcoming engaging in conversation and wanting to do anything they could to make us feel welcome. The room was clean and comfortable.
The Residence Inn in Poughkeepsie, New York is a great place to stay. Business or pleasure, the staff is very attentive, and always strives to make your stay the best. I have been staying there for over 14 years and always feels great to arrive even after a long trip. The remodeling that took place not too long ago, makes the place even better. I highly recommend the RI Poughkeepsie for your upcoming trip to the area.
This residence inn is in a good location. Just minutes from the Galleria, good restaurants and easy to get in and out of. The staff were professional, helpful and accommodating. The rooms were up-to-date, clean with TV in living area and bedroom. Loved the washroom outside of the bathroom and roomy closet. A great place to kick back.
This Residence Inn is set back from the road, which tends to minimize the noise levels. Vassar college students are housed in some rooms. I must say, they have been friendly, quiet, and respectful whenever Ive been at the hotel. The breakfast is great with a wide variety of choices. Staff are all friendly, and go the extra mile. There are several places to eat within walking distance across from the hotel, which adds to the convenience. The fitness room is small, but the hotel offers free passes to a nearby gym.
This hotel is used to handle housing overflow for Marist College--theyre generally a good bunch, but students are all around you, leave their doors open, share the amenities with you. Breakfast service is terrible and slow, with items not being restocked/refilled until someone complains about it. Apathetic staff at the check-in counter. Overall, below average experience, but good if you want the usual Residence Inns spacious rooms and kitchenettes.
This is one of my favorite places to stay. Clean, quite, updated. It would be nice, though, if this hotel could grant 3 p.m. checkouts more readily. Sometimes, it feels like pulling teeth just to get that extension. Most other hotels easily grant a 3 p.m. checkout without much hassle. People want to rest at the weekend especially, not to have to hurry off in a puff...lol!
We enjoyed a relaxing stay at the Residence, combining a convention with pleasure. We relaxed in the pool area. enjoyed the breakfast, and relaxed in our room as time allowed. Friendly service and clean comfortable space. Close to area dining and grocers and very convenient for us.Dont hesitate to stay here!
Strong smell of cigarette smoke coming up from below, I Reported it to the front desk but nothing was done. Our lock didn’t work late one night and management took over an hour to get us in our room. They were unsympathetic that my husband needed to be up early for work and were unclear as to why it happened. I feel it could have been handled better. The toilet filled extremely slow. Cheap furnishings in the room, such as the dressers.
We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Residence Inn Poughkeepsie - Marriott. To relax in extremely comfortable surroundings, have attentitive staff at hand, enjoy an ample breakfast, be so conveniently close to transport, shopping, food and restaurants was all one could ask.
This hotel was by and far the best, pet-friendly resort weve ever stayed in. Normally, traveling with two dogs is extremely difficult and we are treated poorly at overnight accommodations. Not so with this hotel -- the staff was courteous, polite, and helpful. The room was clean and large, and the pet accommodations were top-notch!
This hotel has the same level of service as a JW Marriott. The rooms and general grathering areas are all well kept and look new. The beds are great also. There are plenty of places to eat with in walking distance and if you drive there are even more.Over all one of the best Residence Inn i saty inn through the year.
My friends and I lived at the Residence Inn Poughkeepsie for a year as undergraduates at Marist College a few years ago. We return to the Residence Inn every year for Homecoming because of the wonderful experience we had. The quality of service and the space has only improved over the years. The staff is incredibly inviting and courteous, and foster a wonderful spirit of community with our college and their neighbors. Its these little personal touches that make a stay with them above and beyond what youll find elsewhere. For these Red Foxes, it will always be a home away from home.
This Marriott Residence Inn was modern and updated. I was especially impressed with the modern bath facilities. The bedroom and living room areas were roomy enough. The kitchen was clean. I try to stay at Marriott RI when I travel. This one did not have dish soap nor salt and pepper. For all RIs, I wish they would still have ice machines. The only other watchout I would have is that I almost missed it because it is quite set back from the main road (Route 9). Signage could have been a little more prominent.
Was in town to bury my father. Needless to say it was a stressful time for my family. From picking us up at the train station at inception the customer service was impeccable. The three people who stood out the most were Jill (I believe that’s her name. She’s the manager) Rich and Denise. The kitchen and house cleaning staff are amazing as well. Everyone we came in contact with made sure we had what we needed and were comfortable. Forever greatful. Was literally home away from home.
The RI in Poughkeepsie is a great place to stay. Very convenient, and the staff is excellent. The breakfast and mixing staff is cool and the food is always well prepared. Housekeeping keeps an eye in all details. Overall, it is a great place to stay, recharge, and keep going (long and short term stays).
The hotel is OK. The location is very good but our experience with plumbing was not. Too many plumbing issues and not enough immediate attention. First, the sink began to overflow while we were not running the faucet (!!) and then the toilet clogged. We thought attention would be immediate but we were wrong.
This is your average hotel style Residence Inn. Convenient to my office location, but nothing special. Breakfast is the standard Residence Inn buffet (barely acceptable, this used to be much better). Maid service leaves a lot to be desired (I should not have add to get the front desk to fix issues, the maid should have handled these without intervention).
Our stay at the Residence Inn, Poughkeepsie was pleasant and we would highly recommend this as a place to stay while visiting the Hudson Valley, NY area. The staff was pleasant and helpful, the room spacious and clean, and the pool/spa was relaxing and clean. Also, it is located in a perfect spot...center to many tourist attractions as well as a large shopping area.
I frequently travel to Poughkeepsie on business and always try to stay at the Residence Inn. Good location to work. A good number of restaurants that can be walked to. Close stores for groceries, food, etc.The rooms are always clean and comfortable. The staff is excellent. Friendly and helpful. If there is any problem encountered (and there have not been many), they quickly resolve the problem.
The good: Room was clean and well kept. THE BAD: You would be better off sleeping on a slab of concrete. This place has the hardest mattresses ever. I came home and set my sleep number to 100, and it was still softer than the Residence Inn bed, and that is pretty bad. Thank God I had ALEVE with me. I ended up sleeping on the couch.
While the overall exterior and interior of the hotel is pleasing, there were some interior hiccups. I dont believe you should be charged for the room until the end of your stay. Better concessions for early check in should be made for people visiting from out of state. Considering how close the hotel is to the Culinary Institute of America, you would hope they would have a somewhat decent breakfast.
The Poughkeepsie Residence Inn has been my place to stay for quite sometime. Even though I might not been there for a while, the staff always remembers me, and welcomes me with a big smile when I return. The attention to details and the way the entire staff makes everyone during arrival, while staying and when checking out are points to mention. The place makes it easier to be away from home due to the staff, location of the residence inn, and also the overall look and feel of the place.
Outdated property. Too many things wrong to bother listing. Not worth the money they are asking. Polite staff who doesnt know anything. My absolute WORST MARRIOTT STAY! FELT LIKE I WAS AT MOTEL 6!! Rude people stomping their feet on my head on the 4tg floor. Constant DOG BARKING DURING MY ENTIRE STAY!! A toddler was running on the floor above me constantly..........Jean (John) Carlos was excellent and very helpful. Were going to ask the rest of the staff any questions their answer was I dont know some of the dumbest people Ive ever met in my life working at a Marriott property that dont know the area in which they live and work not acceptable Im never ever stayed at this property again unless I want to feel like Im at Motel 6!
My poor husband had to go in to work during the noreaster, so we decided to stay at a hotel. We got the snow rate. I wish I knew that it had a full sized refrigerator, I would have brought my food that I cooked. I have been having problems sleeping and it was the first night I slept throughout the night, so that means something. It was really cozy. I only had waffles because the selection wasnt all that great but Im picky. My husband had quite a bit of food. I am also thankful that they provided dinner as well, because we were snowed in.
The hotel was located right by a wedding venue which was very convenient. Also near a CVS, Red Robin and Five Guys. Very clean with great amenities such as an indoor pool, kitchenette and free shuttle service. Only cons were that not all of the room keys worked and the game room was closed. Would recommend.
While on the surface this is a typical Residence Inn and Marriott property what is different is the lack of attention to customer service. The front desk is inadequately staffed requiring many calls to get an answer. Once the phone was answered there was a lack of concern for maintenance issue and no follow through with simple requests. The breakfast area is poorly designed and resulted in overcrowding in a small area with staff and customers colliding while staff tried to refill foods. The lobby/breakfast area design makes no sense for the room capacity. Not at all the usual great Marriott or Residence Inn experience.
I travel at least once a month for work. Whenever possible I always stay at a Residence Inn. The rooms are spacious, they accept my special rate at all locations and its never been bad. Somehow, every location Ive found seems to be placed back off of the highway, limiting road noise which is very important to me. The rooms are huge! The amenities (full kitchen, living area, office area...) are beyond compare. The only problem Ive found is that there isnt always a RI available in all the areas that I have to travel to.
We have been traveling to Poughkeepsie, NY for 4 years while our daughter was in school. We were always there during the year for her activities, so we stayed there a lot. The staff always treated us like valued customers. Because of the staff at the Poughkeepsie Residence Inn, whenever I travel, Residence Inn is the fist place I check and see if there is one near by. Thanks so much for always making our stay great!
The bedrooms we were housed in for a conference were not suitable to the number of guests in the room. Students and staff had to sleep on pull out couches and the hotel actually ran out of extra blankets to make up these fake beds. Very disorganized. I would not recommend for a conference style event.
This property maintains the standards that you would expect from a Marriott with very helpful personal staff in all areas that touch the guest: check-in; dining; housekeeping; and maintenance. Combine this with the amenities that I have come to expect from Marriott and you have a great stay. Which we experienced.
Nothing to recommend this Residence Inn except that the rooms are clean. The hallways are not clean and the staff is not friendly or helpful. Only stay here if you have no other choice. Oh...and if you have a Marriott Profile, they wont read it so call them if you need something special. Stay at the Courtyard in Kingston. Its terrific!
An excellent choice if you come to tour the museums in the area, to dine or take classes at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA!!) restaurants or to visit friends. Pleasant, efficient personnel; quiet, very clean rooms, and comfortable beds. Full size refrigerators is a plus for all those doggy-bags from local restaurants many of which are run by CIA graduates.
Used my rewards points but got below-par experience. We have mobility issues and asked for a room upstairs near the elevator. Given a room on ground floor at a distance from the lobby. Requested room change but ignored. Sofa had deep ground-in dirt, lampshade soiled overall and big scratches in furniture. NO evening reception. Limited choices at breakfast.
Except for the configuration of our suite, my wife and I had a nice stay. Because the TV is next to the bed, I could not sleep while my wife watched TV. Because the bathroom sink is next to the bed, my wife could not sleep while I shaved and brushed my teeth. I asked the desk for another type of unit and they let us look at a one bedroom. The one bedroom was better, but the sink was still next to the bed and the bed was a queen. We stayed in the suite. After we left Poughkeepsie, we checked into the Residence Inn in Orangeburg, NY. There we had a wonderful one bedroom unit with king bed, separated rooms and the bathroom sink was in the bathroom - not the bedroom. In the future, we will stay at a Residence Inn if the Inn has units like Orangeburgs. We will not stay in Inns if the units are like Poughkeepsies
Overall, wasnt the service I used to in these properties. In one occasion the staff did not know how to operate the payment computer, as I wanted to get one receipt for the room and the incentives as well. In another occasion, a mail was only delivered to me after specifically asked about its whereabouts; however, I regularly got packages. The mail was stored somewhere else, hence it was not delivered to me. I handed over laundry three times (once per week) and requested it to be folded. Only once I got the clothes back as requested. Nonetheless, the button, which was lost on one of my shirts during a laundry was fixed.I specifically asked (more than once) that Id like to use my Chromecast via HDMI on the TV. The staff promides me that theyll fix it; however, its never been fixed. Overall, this experience was a disappointment compared to my prior experience in Residence Inn properties.
The Residence Inn was the perfect place to stay for our sightseeing weekend in Hyde Park and shopping in the local area. Being so close to the CIA was perfect and there are so many good restaurants in the area. The staff at the hotel was very pleasant and helpful with suggestions and directions. We will return to this Residence Inn anytime we need to stay in that area.

2022-03-02Wonderful staff, clean spacious rooms, lots of nearby places to shop, eat, get groceries, get sweet treats. Loved having the options available to cook in the kitchen that was in our room, order delivery or go out. Very pet friendly, my pups have been pouting since we left because of all the missed attention the staff gave them. If your staying in the area for a short time or for longer term this is a great place to stay. Tell them Brutus and Rosie miss them already.

2022-06-23It very nice and clean.Staff is very kind and polite.Minor issues that find anywhere these days with labor shortage like no paper towels in the bathroom and the table we were using in the lobby was very wobbly

2021-07-27We were traveling from DE to MA and had a reservation at the Culinary Institute of America. So this was just a one night stay but we were treated in such a nice manner. The woman at the desk taught me how to do digital entry with my phone and we had been upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite from a studio. The furniture in the room looked new. It was tasteful and looked easy to clean. The remotes were in plastic and there were disinfectant wipes in the room. All in all a pleasant stay.

2021-07-27Positive: Everything was great the kids enjoyed their stay very much! The pool.was open but we didnt use it but it did look and smell very clean. Hotel exceeded our expectations and we would definitely stay again. The front desk guy was very pleasant. Negative: Wish we could have stayed longer but they were booked for a wedding party.

2021-12-14The best extended stay option in Poughkeepsie! We received an upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite, which was spacious and well stocked for our night of cooking. Many rooms - including this one - even feature an oven. Small, but sufficient breakfast spread consisting of eggs, sausage, Greek yogurt, cereal, etc. Unlike most Hiltons, the eggs are not watered down, so quality seems to be important here. Having previously stayed at the Homewood next door, I’d choose this hotel over that one any day because of its friendly staff, fresher breakfast, and better suite amenities.

2021-08-07Hotel itself is fine and affordable. I was traveling for work and had to spend almost a month here and at first it was fine but then housekeeping stopped cleaning my room. Even after asking the front desk staff MANY times the room did not get cleaned for 2 full weeks. It was pretty gross and made it extremely unenjoyable. Also the battery on the key scanner on my door died multiple times and was very inconvenient. The stay overall wasn’t great and I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

2021-07-13This was a very convenient landing pad for our family as we did college visits. The option to have lots of space while still only booking one room was why we chose this hotel, and we were not disappointed. Also, surprisingly great sushi restaurant across the parking lot made for easy dinner. Due to COVID rules, they did not have their usual breakfast, which was disappointing, but IHOP was just down the street. A quick drive to Vassar campus, and easy to get on the road from here.

2021-06-02Had an outstanding stay at The Marriott Residence Inn Poughkeepsie from 5/28-5/31. 2 suites, in town for a graduation. Checkin smooth and easy with exceptionally friendly staff (Thanks Allie!). Front desk staff both day and night teams helpful, friendly, and professional. Prior to arriving, I was concerned about staying at a hotel during the end of the pandemic, with limited housekeeping and no breakfast buffet. The bagged breakfasts were good, and plenty of hearty food. Dropping off dirty towels in the hampers provided and getting fresh linens was easy. The exceptionally friendly and helpful staff made the visit wonderful. Thank you to the entire team at Marriott Residence Inn Poughkeepsie!

2021-08-30Friends and I recently stayed at the Residence Inn. I want to acknowledge Major in the breakfast room. He was amazing. He was very helpful to our group. Several of us are blind and Major was a big help. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance to several dining locations. It is only a few minutes drive to the Walkway Over the Hudson.

2021-10-26I live in Virginia, right outside Washington D.C. I consider the Marriott Residence Inn/Poughkeepsie to be my home away from home anytime I visit the Mid Hudson Valley (one of my favorite Regions). The location is perfect, the Hotel Staff warm, professional, competent and welcoming. I highly recommend this property for a great stay on all counts.
