On the face, the hotel would be a good choice but in actuality, its far from ideal. Very tired, facility long overdue for updates. Pressure toilet had been running possibly for days before arrival. Shower curtain rod pulling out of the wall. Not dirty or stained walls or furniture but certainly not refreshed or new. No hot breakfast on two days because no delivery (no one can run to the supermarket to get eggs and/or bread?). Would have been great to have coffee (regular/decafe/hot water) by the front desk in the evening. Some towels were still stained from the laundry. Staff was generally nice and place was generally clean.
Very quiet for a downtown hotel. Attached parking garage has maximum height of 5’11” and the antenna of my Transit Connect hits the entrance but nowhere else. Very tight parking, but it’s free with the stay. Complimentary breakfast is back but consists of prepared sandwiches and wrapped goods. Service is very welcoming and prompt to address concerns. I was on the 8th floor and never once heard my neighbors. My suite was a one bedroom king and was super comfortable! Blackout curtains block all light from the vicinity and air conditioning is central and worked flawlessly on hot days. Downtown driving is difficult if you’re not used to the urban setting, but I would stay again.
I’ve stayed many times but this past week was the longest. As always the staff was very pleasant. The suite was clean and stocked. No one bothered me and I finally took advantage of their breakfast. Lots of options and all of it was good. Highly recommend staying there!
Let me say up front that I enjoyed my five day stay. The staff was friendly, the lobby was kept very clean and the hotel is in an excellent location which is close to the downtown Center City Mall and lots of restaurants. I had an issue with the poor quality and lack of daily cleanliness in the gym that I used every day. I pointed it out to the staff and they assured me that it was cleaned twice a day. It remained dirty for the duration of my stay to include debris on the floor which needed mopping and sweeping. Had the staff taken the time to check my complaint, they could have corrected it. They provided linen/towel service when requested and when notified, picked up trash I left outside the room. I had no issue with the reduction of cleaning services. I liked my room...lots of space and kitchen facilities. It was clean. However, the overhead light fixture was falling off and the kick board tile below the dish washer was completely off and just leaning against he wall. I would go back to stay at that location with the hope that they do some general maintenance and refresh the facility. Still a Residence Inn fan.
The gentleman at the front desk upgraded our room to a suite which turned out to be such a nice experience. Its basically a small one-bedroom apartment with a kitchen area. Indoor parking is totally reasonable for $18 per night. Windows are able to be opened for fresh fair, an option no longer available in many hotels.I just wish they had a cafe or bar on premises, but they do have a mini-store with snacks, drinks, and medicines. Plus, there are restaurants in walking distance and many that deliver. There is apparently a very good deliver/pick-up Cantonese restaurant on-site, but it was closed on the night we were there. That would have been hugely convenient. I mention the food options because, after a long tiring day, you dont necessarily want to go hunting for food in a place you dont know. Breakfast is adequate standard fare of pre-sliced bagels, commercial pastry, cereal, juice, and convenience-store hot sandwiches. The coffee is decent enough. The nearest diner doesnt open till 8am, and the Starbucks at 7am. Early risers are out of luck. Overall, the Marriot Residence Inn is very comfortable and the staff very welcoming. We would definitely stay here again.
Hotel is old, dirty and loud. Previous condo building from the 70s converted into Residence Inn. Rooms are awkward. HVAC did not function and hotel blamed it on the weather. Had to leave the windows open all night and heard the traffic as my room request wasnt met. Room was dirty, last persons coffee pod still in coffee maker and shower leaked water all over the floor. Cut my reservation short by a day and checked into a different hotel.
Overall, our stay was disappointing. We booked 2 1/2 months at a Spring Hill suites property in Tarrytown for a Labor Day weekend wedding. Tropical storm Ida caused a power outage the day we checked in on Wednesday September 1. We had no power for two days and hotel staff had no idea as to when the power would come back on so we decided to move to another Marriott property on Friday morning September 3rd. We were glad we were able to switch to a Residence Inn property in the White Plains area, but was disappointed with the price increase for a room that had a nat/fruit fly issue and lack of cleanliness and damage to the bathroom door.
I booked a room for a one night stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott for myself as I attended a friends small gathering. I was very pleased with my accommodations. Overall the room was very clean, the bed very comfortable and air quality exactly how I like it, especially it being a very warm weekend.
We came up from nc for a funeral and had reservations from sat thru monday for the services. we called tiffany on friday eve while traveling to see if she had any availability because we were able to get all the way to NY in one day. she didnt at the time but said that if she gets any cancellations she would call us after 6pm when all the cancellations would be in. at 6:01pm our cell rang and low and behold a room was available. we were so thankful :) once we got to the hotel Tiffany was extremely kind and compassionate to the fact that we were not visiting under happy circumstances. she offered us the same rate for friday and even waived the parking fee during our stay. she made sure we had pillows and blankets and was johnny on the spot with any of our requests. she made sure we had a room large enough so that we could have the family over after the services. tiffany helped to make a sad situation a little easier to bear. next time we travel to ny we will stay at the Residence Inn.
The employee were very nice, how ever I had a trouble with my bill and it took me talking with 3 different employees to figure out a solution. My room was clean and spacious. The down side is that I dont think the AC worked in my room, but I stayed during winter so it didnt bother me. Plus I didnt tell anyone so that was my bad. Parking was easy. And Jessie was amazing!
I called and reserved specific rooms for my wedding months in advance. Checked in online days before physical checkin. Asked for mobile check in and did not receive a room on the app. When I physically checked in the room I requested was not available. The woman at the front desk was not apologetic and told me I should have checked in earlier. Then sarcastically said congratulations when upset family members reminded her I was staying at that location for my wedding. I’ll never stay at this location again. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had and I’ve stayed at Marriott properties all over the world. I’m lifetime platinum. I thought since I had spent a good portion of my adult life in Marriotts that I could trust them with an important moment in my life and I was let down. Good luck to anyone who books this particular location. Hope your experience is nothing like mine.
Not a fan. Very old and rundown. Hair on the walls and in the bathroom. Not sure if its from house keeping or whatever but its everywhere. Mold on bathroom curtains so you know they arent changed often. Parking is terrible. A few spots for the hotel then its 30 bucks a day if you dont luck out and get a free spot.
Run down, unhealthy and unsafe. Worst thing was AC barely worked, room was warm, swampy and musty and front desk told us nothing could be done. Bath tub floor safety patches long gone and very slippery. Front desk agreed to send a bath tub mat and clean dirty floor, neither of which ever happened. Had to use a towel in tub. Hallway door lock latch plate fell off, interior doors wouldnt close, kitchen sink faucet leaked continually and carpet attachment tack strips jabbed your feet. Then both our room keys stopped working well before checkout time.
The morning staff at this hotel are incredible!! Sweet, caring, and responsible, they made me feel welcome, appreciated, and cared for. Pat at the front desk, and Digna in thr breakfast area deserve ALL the accolades. Its not always easy and they make it look not only effortless, but happy!
The manager on duty was Patrick. The most polite, sweetest, most understandable manager I have yet to meet. We got stuck next to a really loud room that made the clients downstairs complain. He came upstairs, heard and understood our needs, and saw that it wasn’t us that was being problematic. He assisted us with what he recommended was our best option and we switched rooms. Thank you to the Marriott hotel for allowing us to have the most convenient experience.
My stay was one not one of the Best. Check in was not as welcoming as expected being I frequent Marriott very often..check out in the AM Great Customer Service. My room 1106 was on top of a smoke haven and lots of noise..Thank God I had lysol to kill the smell. Elevators with 5 ppl at a time during COVID-19.. I have been to this Hotel several times this was not the best visit and mite be my last at this location..The breakfast was good..
Facility was clean but dated; several pieces of furniture/appliances were chipped or stained. Corner suite was very large with lots of windows but HVAC unit kept blowing cold air at high speed and causing the curtains to blow around. Staff was ineffective at resolving issues - no engineering staff at night and so HVAC could not be fixed. Spent the night wearing our coats! Complaints at time of check-out were basically ignored. Too bad, because the location is good and the suites are very large. As a lifetime Marriott client, this was not at all what I expected.
We have stayed here previously, and like the central location. However, after 2 years between visits, the property has obvious deferred maintenance (significant electrical problems with lighting and A/C, and an electrical smell). Also, the breakfast was just awful...soggy, highly processed breakfast sandwiches, and apples wrapped in plastic, etc. We may give it one more chance sometime, but Im dubious that improvements will be dramatic enough to create a sense of value.
I like the hotels and everything but not breakfast. Its like I am not able to use complimentary breakfast. I have been staying here for the past 90 days and getting the same breakfast daily. No Changes in breakfast. If you are vegetarian you dont have any options. I would request to change the breakfast menu.
The hotel is a short 10-minute ride from the airport and a five minute walk to the mall and many restaurants downtown. It’s also very close to the local university. The staff was kind and helpful. The room was clean and was a suite setup with a separate bedroom and bathroom. The full kitchen was nice with a large fridge. The bathroom had a tub with shower. The room and hallways do show some wear and tear.Other Amenities:- Fitness room with free weights, cardio machines and a cable machine.- Pullout couch- Morning continental breakfast- NO Pool- Laundry room- Coffee all dayThe hotel had many sanitation stations and they washed all the dishes in the room. The fitness room was by appointment only and they take your temperature before entering the fitness room.
I enjoyed my stay here at Residence Inn White Plains, NY. Maintenance and housekeeping maintain the upkeep very well even though some guests intentionally leave their garbage in the elevators, hallways, outside, and parking garage. Front desk associates were very professional and helpful. Jessie was awesome in arranging my stay.
I stayed last night for work. The woman who checked me in was nice. However this hotel if I could give it negative stars based on the fact that the morning concierge did not mandate guest to wear their masks in the lobby as I was checking out, co-worker said concierge failed to tell the same guest last night to put their masks on as they checked in. Icing on the cake was waking up to a bed bug on my pillow! I told the concierge about it, he asked me to take a picture, when I rushed out of the room, I collected the bug in a clear plastic bottle I had empty. He asked me to text him the image but didn’t offer anything outside of this. Not even a refund for my room. I’m going to have to throw away all of my clothes, suitcase, basically everything I had with me from this nights stay! Hundreds of dollars worth of things because most of my things were work items. I’ll be calling corporate about this! What a joke.
We have been staying at the White Plains Residence Inn every time we are in the area for the past three years. We love the rooms, they are large great view and super clean. The service and the location are great. When dropping our daughter off for school we always stay and enjoy the area.
My room was dirty and dingy. The air conditioner was on and extremely loud, but doing nothing. The control was filthy and literally rusted. There was slime on the bathroom floor. It was disgusting. I arrived very late, and checked out as soon as I could the next morning. I was shocked at how run down it was.
Great for rates, location and staff service but as the staff know, the hotel has aged a lot and all sorts of things are starting to fall apart. They delayed the upgrades due to the COVID pandemic, but until they do the upgrades, I cannot recommend staying here unless there are no comparable alternatives.
We were sent to a room with the tub running full blast and about to overflow. It was filthy. Then we were sent to another where the toilet was running and unable to be flushed. The third room was fine, but old, dirty dishes in the dishwasher. The toaster was broken. I reported it an a new one was never delivered in 4 days . We just gave up.
This one is the best hotel I stayed in. Goldie greeted us at front desk. Wonderful lobby and room 905 is marvelous. The Chinese restaurant Aberdeen is in the lobby. We are leaving for Istanbul tomorrow night and we will come back. The air conditioning wasnt cold enough.
Stayed here in Jan 2019. Very friendly staff (especially Ms.Latoya was very helpful). Hotel is very close to everything. Rooms are very big and comfortable. The kitchenette in the room is a plus. Breakfast would improve if they add more variety and change the menu regularly. If you are staying for a 3-4 days , you will quickly get tired of the same Breakfast options every Morning. Parking is good and available (not free though), but the driveways are a bit narrow. Laundry area was clean and easy to use. Housekeeping staff were great. Have stayed here a few times before (and also at the nearby Ritz-Carlton), I would choose Residence Inn anytime.
If you are expecting an upscale, luxurious vacation, you might want to skip this hotel; however, the staff service is exceptional and is worth the tattered living room couch. The accessibility to neighborhood shopping and restaurants is a good trade off to having no pool, or limited fitness center working equipment. The food during breakfast and three light weekly meals is surprisingly good and has a nice variety of selections. The unfortunate placement of Aberdeen, an Asian restaurant located within the building, will have you constantly clamoring for moo shoo pork or lo mein. Its impossible to enter the building without breathing in those irresistible Asian aromas. Our two month plus stay was very pleasant and I cant say enough about the warmth of the staff.
This review would be more harsh if I didnt suspect the housekeeping was over worked. Food all over the couch, dirty vents and a hairy bathroom makes their covid protocols meaningless. There was a 3 ft table between the check-in counter and me when I checked in which made the condition of the room ever more humorous.
This hotel is well managed, the staff is very customer focused and make an extra effort to make sure youre situated, very professional and friendly. They have a decent gym too, and even had disposable headphones for you to use. Just an example of small details that go a long way
My husband and I were in town to attend his father’s funeral. Although the occasion was very taxing, it was nice returning back in the evening to our spacious suite. We stayed on the 16th floor with a view of the city. Breakfast was great and allowed us to eat nutritious food and sleep in. After dealing with some difficult family members, it was nice having a awesome place to stay alone and not with relatives. This suite helped us to get the proper rest, recharge our battery because our floor was very quiet. Did not hear any noise in the halls or from the elevator.
Ive stayed at this hotel several times over the years. This stay was yet another awesome one. The hotel is very centrally located to the train station and highways in White Plains, the staff are genial and go out of their way to bring you an awesome experience, the breakfast is good, its a big hotel, AWESOME! Props especially to Shadia for chatting with me and being so jolly on Christmas! The room was awesome-lots of room to spread out and a big bed! I was very happy. Thank you Residence Inn White Plains!
Never advised that room would not be made up. If they had told us when we checked in, different story. There was only a small counter poster we were advised of when we checked out. Also, when we asked for water for the second night, were told there would be a charge. They did wave the parking and provide ONE bottle of water free after we voiced our disappointment. Considering I am a Plat. Life time Elite member., the experience was not up to the usual level.
One-bedroom suites hotel close to White plains train station and city center. Hotel is dog-friendly and includes laundry machines, coffee corner, computer access, free wi-fi, small convenient store and a gym.A daily breakfast is included. Breakfast is not fancy, but included a nice variety of hot and cold options, the dining area was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. In addition, they have afternoon snacks a few days a week. The rooms could have been better maintained. We had a few maintenance issues and housekeeping could have been better about restocking coffee and basic amenities, but they were quick and helpful in addressing any requests or issues that arose.Overall, I would recommend this hotel for long term stays or for family travel, as the suites and the hotel staff were very child-friendly.
Stayed here for a week while training in White Plains, and was thoroughly impressed with the hotel and staff. Rooms were very spacious as expected for a Residence Inn. Room was clean and nicely appointed. Only suggestion would be to upgrade the beds. They werent terrible but not the most comfortable. Staff was great and the fitness center was good for a hotel. Would definitely stay again!
While breakfast was only average the room was awesome, huge. I had a corner suite. Slept 4 me, my wife and kids comfortably. I hate booking a suite and on arrival finding out its not a true sweet only a large hotel room. This is not the case, the room is a true suite. Also it was a 5 min walk to the train/bus center so if you are looking to get to the city you are there in less than an hour.
We love staying at Marriott properties and this one certainly did not let us down. It is in a nice neighborhood but walking distance to downtown and the train station. There is a parking garage for the safety of the car. The staff was so incredibly nice and helpful when we needed them. Very comfortable and friendly environment. I would recommend a lower floor to get to room as the elevators are slow due to 16 floors, the stairs are a great option. The room was spacious, lots of natural light and an awesome bed! I would highly recommend this hotel. It met all of our needs and more.
I found the Residence Inn Westchester to have a lot of room in the suite, which was good as I was working and my husband was with me. The bathroom, living room, and bedroom were all very clean. We had enough towels and space for our stuff. The kitchen was serviceable and had all the basics, and the breakfast was really great and had many choices. The staff was lovely and accommodating. I am going to stay here again.
I stayed here with my mom to attend a family event in Scarsdale. The staff were all professional and friendly. The furniture in the living room seemed oddly small for the space and was not very inviting. The beds were okay but not as comfortable as I’m used to based on numerous stays at other Marriott properties (including several Residence Inns). My mom said the breakfast was pretty good (I just had coffee).
I stayed at this hotel on 12/31/18 for New Years eve. I thought the room was very nice and was initially very happy. My husband and I were awaken at about 5:00 am with beg bug bites. I called the front desk and told no rooms available to switch us. I went to the front desk to show the bites and we continued to get bitten. I was told that they do not have to allow me to file a complaint by law and that we would not be compensated for getting bitten. We showed the Hotel Mgr. photos with the times of the bites noted and were told that they cant help us. I have been a Marriott rewards member for over 10 years and they are the only Hotel chain that I use. They will not assist me with this matter as all of property had to be thrown out and we are still seeking medical treatment. This is the worse experience Ive ever had with this hotel chain. I will continue to post until they contact me.
This hotel has generous size rooms and theyre very bright during the day. Has a small gym. It has a nice lounge in a great area to eat breakfast lunch or dinner. It has a business section where you can get some work done on a computer if you dont have one. The internet service is decent. Ive had guests stay here several times and they have thoroughly enjoyed it. Its a close walk to the train and to downtown White Plains shopping areas. The service is very good and the rooms are kept very clean. Its pricey for Westchester, but you get what you pay for. If you can stay on the higher floors.
Its best place to stay if you are looking for suites near White Plains, the hotel and rooms are very well maintained, staffs are courteous and always happy to assist and resolve the problem. Hotel rooms are neat and clean. Restaurant used to offer free snacks from Monday to Wednesday. I stayed there for almost 45 nights and it was a pleasant stay. Metro station, ShopRite, Target, is just 10 min walk from the hotel.
I love the accommodations, room and service. The Mixer breakfast and dinner is really nice, gives you a chance to meet other residents at the Hotel. The security could be better. The Hotel Manager Catherine is very nice and pleasant in the lobby and at the dinner Mixers. The bed is very soft, almost as soft as the Renaissance Hotel in West Harrison N.Y. The parking is a little narrow, Very large cars/SUVs have to park out side, most modern size can park inside. I love the lobby office for the residents that stay here, Ive used it once. Theres a 24 hr gym and Laundromat. Theres also a Chinese restaurant connected to the Hotel. Im enjoying my stay here via a hook connection on Business. If I have more to write later, I will ad it to this post.
Our experience was fantastic. The location, cleanliness of rooms, and friendliness/helpfulness of staff were all excellent. I would like to particularly point out the high quality service we received from the front desk staff person. He was so kind and helpful throughout our stay--really a top-notch employee!
Pretty bad experience overall. The AC in the entire hotel was apparently out. One of the residents there (they also have apts that they rent/sell) told me it had been out for awhile as well as a chronic water leak in the lobby (which apparently flooded our last night there). Our room stayed at 75 degrees during our June stay. The parking lot is REALLY tight to maneuver up and down the ramps that go between levels. They ran out of butter the second day were were there and offered me cream cheese to put on my waffles??? They have free coffee all the time which is nice, but it is downright horrible. I mentioned it to the person at the desk, but she didnt seem to care, nor did she care when we brought up several problems at check when she asked, How was your stay? Elevators were being renovated so only one was working and you could generally only catch the elevator going up from whatever floor you were getting on on and have to ride up and then back down.Otherwise the rooms were spacious with nice enough furniture. Its nice and close to West Chester Mall.In the end, neither I nor my parents who I was there with would ever stay there again.
First, as a titanium elite member you expect certain levels of service. The desk clerk did not acknowledge that nor provide me with the usual waters and snacks. Second, the thermostat was broken in my room - 1107 and was unable to turn off the heat which was set to the highest temp, which made the room uncomfortable.
Girl at the front desk could not find my reservation until I showed her the confirmation number. The first room we checked into had a large fan drying the rug. They moved us to s different room and the toilet was not working. I noticed that the flapper was disconnected and I reconnected it myself. The controls for the Heat/AC unit were broken. You have to pay for parking $18.00 plus tax because you are not allowed to leave the car in the street overnight in White Plains. The parking lot is real tight to maneuver in so good luck with that. The place needs an upgrade. This Hotel is not up to Marriott Standards.
We were staying there for a week in the middle of April for a business. The hotel staff was great! My room was clean and comfortable and always stocked with what I need. The breakfast was great, get togethers a lot of fun, and the atmosphere was more like family. The hotel is not brand new; but, it was clean. For someone who was there to work, they went out of their way to help me get things done. Sorry I dont get to go back. Thanks to Robert, Janet and the rest of the crew.
Stars are with consideration of breakfast that was pretty decent and main lobby. After that the place is a dump. When you get off the elevator the theres no air in the hallway. 1st room we were given had the worst smell of mildew. It literally knocked me in the face. My husband has the worst sense of smell and even he could detect it. After speaking with the young lady at the desk she apologized and offered a bigger suite. We told her the size is not the issue but the smell. Nevertheless on to the 2nd room and yes it was bigger the smell was slightly less the first one but definitely noticeable. We called again and was basically told hmm they are all probably going to be the same and its not much we can do. (Why didn’t she say that from the beginning?) So I spent an hour on the phone with Marriott to see if they could help. Initially they said that they could put me some where else. Then at the last moment they said well weve noted the situation but youll have to resolve it with the front desk. Ugh!So NO I wouldnt stay there again! They were in the process of renovations. Don’t know if they will remove the mold/mildew out of the walls. I would only recommend it if you dont have allergies or sensitivities to mold and mildew. Or if you dont mind out of desperation buying a face mask to sleep in (like me).Update: After a horrible sleepless night we checked out after breakfast and moved to the ritz Carlton for the last night. We were saved!!
We stayed here for New Years Eve, the check-in and check-out was quick. Staff was great. Price was decent given the occasion. The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was amazing. Love the fact we could cook. The location is great. Close to all of the action in downtown White Plains. Overrall great experience. I will definitely book again
One of the better Residence Inns I have stayed in. The rooms have pretty standard Residence Inn furniture, but had the newer TVs that include internet TV. The room I got was very large, and well arranged. It felt very comfortable and was certainly somewhere I would like to spend an extended amount of time. One thing that stood out in particular was that the water pressure in the shower was excellent. There is a restaurant in the same building, and there are also many within a ten minute walk of the hotel. At about 15 minutes from the airport, it is a good location for business travelers. Only downside would be that the building has a strange smell in some places. With off season rate being about $110 I would consider it the best value I have ever received at a Residence Inn.
My 5 star rating has absolutely nothing to do with the hotel itself, and everything to do with the staff. Upon arriving from 3.5 hours away (driving), we were on business, and were told we would have to share a room because of a water main break causing several rooms to be shut down, one of our rooms being one of them. Visibly displeased, I went out and told my traveling partner the situation. We decided to stay anyway. Once we entered the hotel, the women working the desk that night volunteered to purchase us separate rooms at another local hotel- one they didn’t have any deals or association with. I was completely stunned and impressed that they would offer to do that to ensure our comfort as we were traveling. My associate and I were very grateful for their generosity and sincere apologies.
Had a good one night stay. Overall the one bedroom suite was a great size - very big for our family of four. But the room was a bit musty and tired, and the service was just okay (took 2 hours to get two additional pillows). Breakfast was good, kids especially loved the make your own waffle station, but could use more fruit.
Courteous staff, neat and clean hotel rooms and lobby. Good breakfast spread. Rooms are pretty large, neat and clean. Includes a large fridge, oven, cooktop, dinning table and kitchen utensils.Overall, pretty good and nice place to stay!Has many nearby options for eating and shopping.
I stay here frequently when visiting my son who lives a few blocks away. We are able to walk downtown and to the train station. I notice a lot of business travelers during each stay. The breakfast is good and provides lots of options. My only complaint about the room is that the bathroom lighting isnt good for putting on makeup.
Impressed by spaciousness of room, lovely & clean. Close to malls, our family, many restaurants and downtown area. Remote was tricky & not consistent with living room remote, probably a quick course would help or updating so consistent. Room was warm, another lesson helpful to adjust temperature or perhaps a working thermostat. Overall, nice experience & we would stay again!
I travel a lot in business, and most time you just want a good bed and bathroom to stay. When I come to Residence Inn I wasnt expecting a great hotel, and it was a good surprise to me. The staff was always smiling and trying to make things easier for me. Food was good, cleanness was good, a good bad.. and a good experience at all.
The hotel is pretty nice. The breakfast is delicious with good options. The room in certain areas did show the age of the building, the room can look better with a few cosmetic fix’s. Other than that hotel wasn’t bad. But you will need to pay about 15per day for parking
This hotel is well maintained, clean, good breakfast and nice amenities in the room. However, it was in the 30s outside during my stay and the living room/kitchen space was virtually useless because it was freezing in that room. All of the heat went to the bedroom! I was wearing my down jacket while making tea in the kitchen!
First time staying at Residence Inn. Stayed a week from September 1-7 2014. Loved it. My wife and I have found a home away from home for future trips to New York which we make once or twice a year to visit family and enjoy the many things to do and see around NY. Large bedroom & a living room with a comfortable sofa bed, a full kitchen with large refrigerator, microwave & stove. The apartment had great natural light with windows that opened to let in fresh air. Free breakfast, evening social hour with food makes this a great value for the money. The location, in a quiet neighborhood but just 3 blocks from city center as well as its proximity to NYC and the Metro North station is excellent. Most of all, I want to commend the staff for their friendliness and responsiveness to our needs. I especially want to praise Robert Khoury (sp) at the front desk. We could not have been treated better by staff at any hotel, including the Ritz Carlton where we have stayed numerous times (we have a fractional ownership in St. Thomas and have stayed at the RC hotel in WP). Roberts warm and accommodating treatment of us is an important reason why we will stay at the Residene Inn again. The only negative thing to say is that the garage ramps are rather narrow and one has to be very careful navigating from one level to the next.
Genuinely enjoyed my stay. Great staff , who are warm and welcoming, ready and willing to help and accommodate you at all times. The hotels located super close to downtown, the best shopping that Westchester has to offer. Walking distance to the metro north station 45mins to grand central. Walking distance to great variety of dinning options! Rooms are spacious and drenched in natural sun light, always clean and fully equipped. I give it 5 stars.
I booked a corner king suite and this room was huge. I booked it to accommodate a third person and the room was perfect. It was like a one bedroom apartment. The room was clean with nice fluffy pillows. Also, the room was quiet at night and the morning. I was surprised to open the door and see a cleaning lady right outside the door. The breakfast is the standard Residence Inn, will stocked and warm.
For being pet-friendly, this was a great hotel. We loved the size of the suites, probably the biggest hotel room Ive stayed in. The lobby was under renovation so there was not much there, but the rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location is great because its a 10-min walk to downtown shopping/restaurants. If we and our dog are back in the White Plains area again, we would definitely stay at this hotel again.
The hotel is everything you would expect from a Marriott, but the staff at this hotel were outstanding. I came in for breakfast near closing, and they went out of their way to make sure I had what I wanted, and they did it in a warm and friendly manner. They simply made my stay. The front desk was also extremely friendly and helpful. A pleasure to deal with, especially after a long drive.
The staff at this hotels is like one you would find at a luxury brand. They were warm, welcoming and professional. The property is conveniently located . The rooms are spacious and immaculate. Beds are comfortable and overall the rooms are quiet.I would highly recommend for any traveler. The bonus that they are pet friendly is something that is difficult to find.
Too much weed smoking for a so called smokefree hotel...had to put towels under my door to stop the smell...washing machine by 3rd party company was broken with my clothes in it for 41 minutes.. harrased by kitchen staff about taken too muchfree breakfast for 4 people....leaky roof with water coming in the room and near elevator hallway..sketchy characters in hallway...underage 20 or more kids in one room runing down the stairwell...police showing up well after 2am...what a waste of money..never again...I miss the old Resident Inn from years ago..WHAT HAPPENED !!??😩😩
Stayed in a very spacious single bed room. The bed was a king size and in a separate room from the rest of the space. Room included large sectional couch, arm chairs, good sized kitchenette with ample counter space, dining table with 6 chairs, and cable TV. Bathroom was clean and well maintained. View was decent from the 7th floor and lobby was very nicely furnished. Would stay again and recommend to everyone.
Always loved this place even as far back as La Reserve. I think its time for an update, after all its a Marriott not a Holiday Inn. Leaky faucets, torn carpets, no bathroom venting, and poor lighting to name a few. Lower the price or update otherwise the Crown will be getting my business.
I usually stay at a Marriott due to its quality of service and cleanliness. Ive stayed at the White Plains, Westchester Residence Inn six times so far to unite with family. I have never been disappointed by the competence of the staff or their willingness to serve my interest during my stay. The facility is always clean and presentable.I will definitely be back.
Pictures provided on the internet are quite deceiving.I stayed here with my boyfriend for one night and the room was dingy, hot and the couches were stained with no support. Upon checking in the front desk guy seemed a bit confused. We purchased water from the little shop (more like shelves) on the side of the front desk, and the man was confused as to how to charge it to our room. He stared at us with a blank face. He looked like he wanted to tell us something, but silence continued instead.. it was a bit awkward. Moving on, we go upstairs and find that the room is bloody hot.We call the maintenance man because we could not get the air on, only the fan would run and it was very slow and low.. the maintenance man comes upstairs and turns off the air all together. Were telling him its not what we want, that we want a cooler room and he is unable to help us.We leave the windows open and we step out for dinner. We come back and still feel the same issue and call maintenance again. The maintenance man says the room only pumps heat and does not have air. WHAT KIND OF BS IS THAT?1 star for parking on premises, even though the structure was created for buggy sized vehicles.
It was A Beautiful Experience The Room Knocked me off my Feet. It was a Trip from my Dad for my 18th Bday 2 Friends and I. The Room was Magnificent Spacious Had A Full Kitchen Living Area And Dinning Area, The View Was Great. Will miss the View. Bathroom everything was Superb. Now the Staff Omylanta, Was too Great everyone was So Professional, Smiled, Pleasant, Also Provided us with all the Hotel Amenities and info where too Eat Out. Will Stay Again For Sure asking My Dad too Please Book again School Break...
I am a single woman traveling alone on business and chose this hotel because I love Marriott and it was close to the meeting I was attending. The staff was friendly and welcoming and the room was huge and the bed very comfortable. I felt safe in the hotel , but did not have a car, so I did not venture out. The only negative I had was that I was unaware the hotel and the attached Cantonese restaurant have no liquor license, not even wine or beer, so a cocktail before dinner or a glass of wine with your meal is not an option unless you pack something or want to walk a few blocks. The Mon-Wed mix is only average since there was no wine or beer, and on Wed there was only ice cream, so you would definitely need to go out for dinner. Breakfast was hot and plentiful with the usual selections of eggs, sausage, fruit, yogurt etc.
Stayed at this hotel just an hour out of the city. Less than 10 minute walk to metro north railroad which takes you right to grand central. Mom, dad and 2 kids. Kids (10&12), complained the sofa bed spring were not comfortable. Next time will do 2 queen. Be aware you have to pay 15 dollars a night for parking in the hotel property. The breakfast was worth it. Eggs, sausages, oatmeal station, yogurt, breads, coffee, fruit juice all overall very good and part of your stay.
I stayed in room 1004 from 12/17-12/20. My toilet wouldnt flush, the main lobby toilet was clogged, then my toilet starting leaking after the engineer fixed the plump. Unfortunately, no engineer on duty until the next day so i had place three bath towels to soak up the leaking water. My bedroom TV input wasnt working and then the remote would not work properly. The front desk people were nice and helpful. Park outside if you have a large SUV as the inside lot lanes are super tight. My room was clean and neat.
We have never stayed at a hotel where every single staff member was so focused on customer service. Everyone we came in contact with was genuinely happy to help and smiling. Not one raised eyebrow (even when we couldnt find the pullout sheets because we only checked 2 of the 3 closets) or hint of attitude. This manager is doing everything right. The employees seem to love their jobs. As a result, we loved our stay! The hotel is very convenient to the Metro North train station (Harlem Line) which we used to go back and forth to Fordham and Manhattan. Our corner suite had a fabulous view and lots of space.
This Residence Inn is a disgrace to the Marriott name. It is owned by a franchise company. The garage is owned by another firm and there is a private restaurant off the lobby, so customers have access to the hotels public computers. We have poor internet service, and have been phished as a result. The rooms are shoddy, and inadequately supplied. Despite all of that, the staff here has been wonderful. Considering they are dealing with issues beyond their control, they keep up a welcoming attitude and try their best to accommodate guests requests. The only reason we are here is because our home was destroyed by tree, back in March. We are stuck here until it is rebuilt. This survey indicates we are checking out. Unfortunately we will be stuck here for at least another month or two.
Terrible experience! 4 members of my team stayed for a week. I’ve stayed at Residence Inn’s before and never had an experience like this. First – I was traveling with my wife who has Multiple Sclerosis. Her condition requires the ability to control the heating and cooling in the room. The room was extremely cold, staff and maintenance were unable to control the temperature. We had to alternate between shutting off the AC unit completely when it got to cold and restarting it when it got too hot for the entire week. Second – the gym was closed and there was no arrangement made to provide some nearby alternative for those who normally exercise during the day. Finally – the dining area was closed. The attempt to provide breakfast in the morning seemed halfhearted. This is not what I’ve seen in the past at the Residence Inn and not what I expected. Disappointed.
This is my 5th stay in this hotel and for sure Ill come back again.Huge and comfortable rooms with kitchens. Completely equipped and ready even for longer stay. ATM and laundry machines on site.Perfectly located in calm but great connected White Plains just 40 miutes from Grand Central NY, 2 minutes to higway and less than 30 min to most business locations and attractions. Close to 5 good restaurants, shopping, car rental. Just renovated with excellent service. But I cant only price you :) so there is one thing to improve - slow elevators.
Goldie is definitely a star asset to this facility. I can’t thank you and the rest of the staff enough for such a great experience! From the moment I stepped in to the moment I stepped out I was accommodated accordingly. I forgot a toothbrush and the front desk provided me with one promptly. Goldie went out of her way to explain where to park, when and where breakfast was served and even provided me with a gift bag containing water and some snacks. Thank you Goldie for going above and beyond to make my stay more memorable!
This was a favorite placed for us to stay when we visited New York over the past four years. We usually stay from 7 to 10 days. The staff is wonderful, professional, warm and helpful. We usually stay in one of the larger suites, which has a spacious living room & bedroom, and a nice kitchen with a large fridge. This year, however, we were disappointed with the condition of the building & facilities. One of the two elevators have been out of service for more than a month, according to guests with whom we spoke, so were several of the washers & dryers in the laundry room, and one of the two computers in the business center, also for several weeks. The carpeting in the working elevator was composed of carpet pieces and needed to be vacuumed more frequently due to spills & debris. The delays in fixing the elevator and laundry equipment caused me to wonder if the hotel is experiencing cash flow problems that affect its ability to quickly address maintenance problems. They do have a good complimentary breakfast and an adequate fitness room, but we did decide to look at other hotels in White Plains for our next visit.
My family and I stayed recently for the New Years Celebration and were very impressed with the quality of service we received. The room was spacious and clean, staff friendly and inviting. The breakfast was top notch! We enjoyed our stay and plan do stay again for the upcoming New Years Celebration.
If you are looking for an exceptionally clean hotel with large and comfortable rooms, you will like the Residence Inn in White Plains. It has convenient parking and is just 2 1/2 blocks to the train. Great shopping is in easy walking distance. The decor is simple but classy, the beds are extremely comfortable, and the extended stay format means a useful kitchen with all the necessary items. The bath has been designed for extended stay as well, meaning that there is storage space and shelves that keep the clutter off the counter. This is a very good place to stay and my first choice when in Westchester County.
Okay so far.Pros: good breakfast and after work social eats. Rooms are spacious and mostly clean - see below. Friendly staff.Cons: dirty sheets, one pillow had makeup stains. The extra blanket smelled old and unwashed. They gave me a handicapped room and the bathroom had no counters or space for toiletries. Only 1 working elevator.
Firstly, the hotel met my standard for Marriott. Secondly, I would stay here again. Overall I was as pleased as I usually am with my Marriott stays. Marriott, particularly the Residence Inn is my number 1 favorite hotel!!! My problem is concerning my checkout. According to the website: Guaranteed late checkout is an enhanced Elite benefit for Gold and Platinum members, offering late checkout guaranteed as late as 4pm. The benefit can be requested through voice reservations, on the Marriott app via the mobile check-in process, at the front desk during check-in, or on the day of departure. http://www.marriott.com/marriott-rewards/member-benefits/get-more-rewards/guaranteed-late-checkout-faq.mi When I made my reservation, the Marriott representative asked me if I wanted a late checkout. I said yes. In addition, when I checked using the app, I also selected late checkout. When I double checked with the front desk representative on the day of my checkout, he told me that I had exceeded the late checkout and he could only extend it to 1pm. Not realizing the time, I called him back when I got to my room to ask for an extra 1/2 hour. Id come from the fitness center and needed time to shower and pack. I was told no. I did not shower. When I was in the lobby I heard him tell a guest that housekeeping was on break from 1pm - 2pm. That was hurtful to me because he could have allowed me extra time and I would not have held up cleaning the room, or caused any inconvenience. I was at that point more than disappointment!!!
Close to restaurants, nightlife, shopping, and sites. Room was clean and bright with plenty of windows. I recommend reserving a corner room on a high floor. Ample space to kick back and relax. Comfy mattress with variety of pillows. Some minor maintenance details however like a bathroom door that could not be closed and a non working ice maker. If those were fixed, deserves 5 star rating.
Nice location, lots of places to eat close by for a quick meal. Good service, room was fine. Not all the power outlets worked by the desk but there were enough for what I needed. Showerhead had a leak that sprayed which was a little annoying. Otherwise its a fine place to stay, no major issues.
This used to be an apartment building (condos), rooms are equivalent to a 1 bedroom (700 sq ft) condo. Bathrooms are not huge but adequate. Staff was great and friendly. Parking is unique. Entrance is tight for SUVs but we able to park in garage. Plenty of spaces. No real issues, other than toilet paper holder came off wall. Not a deal breaker.Parking is unique. Garage is tight for SUVs but we were able to park our Honda Pilot in garage.
I had booked a suite and was given a handicap room. The room was indeed large but it was meant for persons with a wheel chair/disabilities. Conveniently located on the first floor right by the elevator; something that is not very pleasant if you do not need such commodity since other guests gather here for the elevator. I am not sure why I was given this room since I did not ask for it. Because it was on the first floor, it did not have much natural light; it felt more like a basement. It is a small hotel, practical. Perfect for a business trip. It is located 7 mins walking distance from the MTA for those who prefer to take the train into Westchester.
This hotel and location is a win all around. The staff is fantastic and makes you feel very welcome. The rooms are large and have ample floor space to spread out. Thats a big plus if youre staying for a while. The hotel is about 2 blocks from the White Plains station and is an easy 30 minute commute into NYC - trains run all the time. The hotel is also very dog-friendly and the staff made us feel very welcome.
I have been staying at this hotel several times a year since 2001. The suites are clean and inviting, the beds are comfortable and the breakfast is incredible. The entire hotel is safe and clean, and the staff is very accommodating. This place is truly a home away from home.
The staff of the hotel are very helpful - unfortunately the rooms are usually in very bad shape.Nothing wrong with furniture/fixtures, however there is a persistent smell of mold in all the rooms. I was staying at this hotel on a weekly basis until I discovered extensive mold in the showers and became ill after a few nights.I recommend not staying at this hotel.
Hotel is very clean. Staff are so nice and helped us with many little problems. Accessing the garage is not easy to figure out....I suggest calling the desk ahead of time or parking in front of the hotel and getting very specific directions. The telephone buttons did not connect so we went to the desk many many times for various needs. The free breakfast is excellent. Location is perfect in downtown White Plains and the hotel - area is very quiet at night.Would definitely stay there again.
I worked for Marriott in Uniondale and in Melville for almost 25 years total. This was a beautiful hotel, and the front desk staff were amazing. The only issue I encountered was with the cleanliness of my suites restroom upon check in and this was dealt with to my satisfaction by the time I returned to my room 2 hours after I checked in.
The rooms were good (was in the executive suite), housekeeping is nice & prompt. The breakfast was fine. Although they should keep different menus. Its just the same everyday! For executives for long stay, this would be great! I was tired of the same breakfast in 5 days and I was here for 59 days! Somethings are bad. e.g. the staff could not fix my room phone till the time I left! I had also requested them to send me my invoice through email, which they still have not done :-)
Friday afternoon, March 2 around 4 oclock we lost power (and heat) in my hometown during a natural disaster and I made the decision to quickly book a room at the Marriott residence Inn in White Plains. We were relieved to have a warm place to stay and able to keep safe during the remainder of the Nor Earter storm. Saturday morning I spoke with the representative at the front desk to extend our stay another night as NYSEG had not yet posted any information regarding outages and restoration times. I noticed that the lobby was quite busy that morning and was worried that we would not be able to stay.I was told I had no reason to worry since we were already guests of the hotel, and I could easily extend my stay as needed.Sunday morning I again went to the front desk, and asked to extend the stay another night. It was not a problem and I felt relieved.Upon reading all of the updates from NYSEG, as well as the town supervisor of Somers updates, I thought I should extend our stay Monday night as well. It did not seem likely power would be restored prior to Tuesday morning. When I went to the front desk Sunday, March 4 at approximately 7 PM, I was told it was not possible to stay another night. The manager on duty, Jesse, told me that they were completely booked and sold out. I reminded him that we have been guests of the hotel since Friday and our town was still under a state of emergency with 90% of the town non-functioning. I explained to him that I had a two-year-old son and that we had nowhere to go. I reiterated what the young woman at the front desk told me on Saturday, that we could easily extend our stay as needed. That it was not a problem since we were already guests of the hotel. His response again was, I am sorry mam we are sold out and there is nothing I can do. There are other hotels in the area. People have reservations and you dont. You cannot stay.As you can imagine, I became incredibly upset, frustrated, and angry thinking that I had to pack up my family with nowhere to go the next day. I am a schoolteacher, and my husband an employee in White Plains, and we both had to be to work by 8 AM on Monday. What am I going to do?? Most of the hotels have been booked (due to same emergency) and of course financial constraints prohibit me from just going to any hotel! I chose the Marriott residence Inn for a reason!I could not imagine that they would actually kick us out in the middle of a county wide emergency with nowhere to go. I ex
The associate that was the most helpful was the receptionist at the front desk. He was very helpful and was able to answer all of my questions. Furthermore, he was one of the most friendly genuine individuals I have ever met. He was also very personal which I was very happy about. I found every thing he did to be extraordinary and above and beyond his call of duty. I do not remember his name but he was a middle aged black male working the night of November 5th. Thank everyone for yet another great stay in the Marriott.
Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Cant say enough about the cleanliness and well stocked room as well as the delicious breakfast and light fare in the evening (Mon-Wed). Perfect location and a short metro ride to the city. Lots of walking distance amenities. Really recommend this hotel. You will not be disappointed at all!!
This hotel has excellent breakfast service and pleasant staff, however, their property is maintained poorly: the elevator was broken for a month before it was fix. Most TVs in the fitness center remain broken, air conditional and toilet in some of the rooms not working. And their room rate changes on weekly bases without notice.
Our stay was wonderful. The room is big. It gives the feeling of an apartment and not a hotel room. It gives privacy. There are two TVs.....so no fighting over shows. The internet is great. The staff is wonderful, professional, friendly and helpful. The breakfast is unbelievable. There are so many choices. The food is replenished when needed. TVs are on as you eat with the local news. The dinner social has less variety but it is wonderful. It is nice not to have to cook or order out. The dinner makes life easier. Everyone in the hotel makes you feel welcomed and cared for. We are going back this week which shows how much we enjoyed our stay.
I have stayed at this property about 50 times over the past 3 years, and I can honestly say that this location has the kindest, most helpful, and accommodating staff of any Marriott. They make you feel so welcome and bend over backwards to help all guests. I have spoken with other guests, and this assessment is unanimous. Special kudos to Robert and Cyndi who truly understand hospitality and how to make guests feel appreciated. If you are staying in White Plains, do yourself a favor and stay here and feel pampered.
Not recommended. This place is unfriendly for families and the infrastructure is decrepit.I stayed last night with my family (confirmation #71812144). This morning I went downstairs at 6:15am with my 1 year old son in one arm and an empty baby bottle in the other. I asked the kitchen staff, named Ana according to her nametag, for some milk for my son but was refused because breakfast started at 6:30. To be clear, I wasn’t asking for a table or for a meal. Just for some milk to fill my son’s baby bottle. I asked the person at the front desk for help but he was unable or unwilling to overrule the kitchen staff. It got worse when we got upstairs as there was no hot water in the bathroom. By 9am when we left there was no water at all.
The WORST hotel stay experience ever. I travel a lot for business and this was by far the most shocking and terrible stay Ive had. The young girl at the front desk had such a bad attitude and was not welcoming or friendly at all. Nor was she accommodating when I had to get moved to a new room TWICE. The first room smelled very strongly like smoke, and the second room was so hot and I wasnt able to regulate the temperature. Turns out the heat/air was broken and their maintenance guy had to come in/out of my room at least 5 times at 9pm. To top it all, I wasnt given the corporate room rate I was supposed to receive.
Very nice hotel; centrally located near major activity centers in downtown White Plains; very close to railroad station for easy travel into New York City. very quiet for a central city hotel. Staff for the most part was attentive and tried to please. There did not seem to be a night manager with any authority on the premises. Before booking check to see if air conditioner will be working. The attached Chinese restaurant was better than any reasonable expectations. Maid service was top notch, and in most cases invisible. Parking structure had enough spaces and allowed inside access to the hotel.
Extremely bad stay for 3 nights. The hotel had a water main break 5 weeks ago, although it was not their fault they have been doing restoration work since. They are renting rooms however they are no where near running this establishment properly. There whole front hall is taken apart. The breakfast room is still under serious renovation so breakfast is served daily at the front door. It is very poorly done. The carpets were cleaned without prior notice to us. We came home from dinner at 10pm Saturday night and were notified by a note slipped under the door that all furniture and carpets would be steam cleaned at 9 am. Despite our refusal we were told we had no choice work was being done. It has been 12 hours and the carpets are still wet. Our AC has not worked and when we asked to have it addressed we were told sorry no technician is working today. This was and has been the worst experience and the indifference by the front desk staff is terrible. We will most certainly be filing a complaint with Marriott and we are Gold Marriott members. This hotel is not inexpensive at 200+ per night.
Hotel room temperature was in the 80s...called front desk and they said AC was on and to wait awhile...went to dinner and returned only to still have no AC...called again and a tecnhnician came and said he changed the hot water to cold water and to wait 20 minutes for it to kick in. Nothing happened, still HOT in our room. Called front desk and they offered us fans. Huh? How about changing our room? We left the hotel at 4:00 am because we could not sleep in the heat so that meant we did not get the free breakfast. Wanted to say something to the front desk as we left but no one was in sight. We would like another free night hotel certificate since we used the only one we had for this hotel.
This hotel is not in Marriott family, the Air conditioning was broke during my stay , the hallway smelt like cigarettes and weed. The room was big and bright but had a unpleasant odor and dust was visible on all the counters. The location was great and the Dim sum restaurant which also owns the hotel was closed during my stay.
I love this hotel and try to stay here whenever visiting NYC area. It is a short walk to the train station (Metro North) so easy 25 minute ride or so to Grand Central Station. From there you can go anywhere... The hotel room is extremely large, like a small condo, with a separate bedroom, kitchen with fridge, cooktop, dishwasher, etc.; and a large living room and bathroom. The bed feels like a Tempurpedic--extremely comfortable--and several different pillows so you choose what you like. There is a lot of closet space as well. Parking garage on site. Full hot breakfast is marvelous. They have evening snacks in the lobby. Internet service is very fast. If I could give this hotel 10 stars...I would!
This is my 2nd stay at this particular Marriott branch hotel and I absolutely love the spacious rooms, the cleanliness and the comfort. You get a lot for the money. The nearby areas are beautiful with tons of shopping which makes this a perfect hotel for leisure and/or business.
Very, very satisfied!!! Great place for the family, in a quiet neighborhood, well appointed location near all downtown activities with indoor parking. I cant say enough about the Operations Manager Robert K who is wonderful, professional, friendly, and went out of his way to ensure our room satisfaction, he was extremely accommodating and it was like having a family member in the management office! He knows all of his guests by name which is amazing!!! The hotel staff was very professional and responded to room service requests immediately. The rooms were spacious, and the suite included two queen size beds, a pull out sofa, a microwave, dish washer, full fridge, toaster, iron, ironing board, and two flat screen cable tvs. We used the fridge to store all of our left overs after dining out which was a great option for us to have instead of wasting food. There is a 24 hour laundry room on premises, which is so convenient!!! The hot breakfasts included sausage patties, andouille chicken sausage, a make your own waffle station, bagels, toast, coffee cake, oatmeal, fresh fruit, hot coffee, juices, varieties of gourmet tea bags, scrambled eggs (possibly powdered), cheese, raisins, and more which offered enough choices for the family to enjoy. There was no bacon served with the eggs, only sausage. There is an onsite restaurant in case you decide not to leave the building for lunch or dinner. No pool. If you select this location I hope you will enjoy, we had everything we needed!!!
Staff was very rude in lying and saying the manger was present we were making too much noise after we called her and she was not even in the hotel! They the kicked us out after only one complaint of noise within three hours! It was a small gathering and with knowing and understanding the event the staff were complete liars and unreasonable. I definitely wouldnt spend my money with them again just for the attitude and the way they handled the situation unprofressionally.
We have stayed at this property a number of times over the last 7 years. We used to live in White Plains, and always felt comfortable putting family and friends up in this hotel The rooms are large, clean. the staff is friendly and the location is very convenient. It is a short walk to the train station, and you can be at Grand Central Station in one half hour. The only negative is parking is very tight in the parking garage.
Where to begin...first if you have never been to White Plains you have to go it. It is a beautiful little city with wonderful people! One of those wonderful people is Robert and he works at the Residence Inn. He was an absolute pleasure and gave us advice on where to dine and pointers about the city. He let us check-in early, which was a great help, since we had to be in another location at a specific time. We had a beautiful room and a lovely time at the Residence Inn. Thank you again Robert, your hospitality, friendly manner and knowledge was fantastic! We will definitely be back!
I only stayed overnight. Is very close to the White Plains Train Station (and buses too I think). Room had 2 rooms, large bedroom with king bed, living room/kitchen. Would have liked to have a kettle for making tea. Staff was helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is ok. Scrambled eggs, canadian bacon/ham, sausages for the hot although I think there was a waffle maker too. A few cereals, toast. yogurt.
For the price I was expecting to have more out of this hotel. The bed was hard, there was a tear in the sofa, the room would not cool down, and the elevator did not work properly with the other one being out of service it took some time to come down from the 15th floor. The waffle maker at breakfast was very weathered and needs to be replaced.
If you have to travel, staying at this Residence is the closest thing to home with a bit of luxury. Very close to downtown (walking distance). Free Breakfast and dinner is provided. Laundry facilities on premises and a small gym. The suites themselves are full size apartments with a nice dual cooktop, full size refrigerator, separate living room from bedroom and the bed is super comfortable.
My family and I had a very comfortable stay. We had a one bedroom suite and enjoyed having a couch to relax and a kitchenette to cook basic meals. The breakfast every morning was convenient and the staff was very friendly and helpful even remembering to offer us drinking straws, which was our preference so our child could drink from the half pint milk containers they offered. The breakfast was very good with options like oatmeal, waffles, eggs, cereal, sausages and muffins with lots of juices and coffees to choose from. The one thing was the room description says the kitchen is fully stocked, but they dont offer an oven - just a microwave or a scrub brush and dish soap, so you can do dishes. They do offer dishwashing powder, so you have to run the machine if you want to do dishes. Thats why Id say Id give four stars instead of five.
The Residence in by Marriott is a hidden gem in White Plains. Fabulous, newly renovated spacious suites, attentive and welcoming staff. This is a pet friendly property that is immaculate and quiet. It is a short walk to all down town White Plains has to offer, dining, shops plus a short walk to the train station. NYC is 30 minute ride.I was a Ritz Carlton only guest until they changes the pet policy, this hotel does not disappoint .
The front desk associates were efficient and pleasant to work with. This hotel in clean and well maintained. Breakfast has good options. There is local dining in walking distance of the hotel. We will use this hotel again if we need to do business in White Plains again.
Stayed for two nights and I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the location, my room, staff and great customer service, for such affordable rates. Located in a residential area, approximately two blocks from the WP mall, businesses and restaurants. I will definitely stay again upon my return.
When we checked in we were greeted by the front desk manager (I believe his name is Robert)He was super friendly, energetic and extremely helpful. He exhibited tremendous positive energy and said he was willing to help with anything we needed. A true pleasure! We have traveled for over 40 years and stayed at hundreds of hotels--- he was the best!
THis is an ideal place for a short or long-term hotel stay. It offers spacious, modern suites and full, complimentary breakfasts, allows dogs, and is very quiet at night. A short walk to the commuter rail is a big plus. Wonderful staff and atmosphere! Highly recommend. Has AARP rate as well.
We were in Westchester County visiting family who did not want our dogs in their house Of the many options available in the area, we chose The Residence Inn White Plains for our stay. We could not have made a better decision The rooms are large, tastefully decorated, very clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows were excellent. Best of a lll was the staff who could not have been more warm and welcoming. We loved our stay there. And an outstanding value. The Residence Inn White Plains will always be our number one choice in Westchester County!!
The location was convienent but the hotel itself is dated. The elevator floors were filthy. If you are handicapped or have an injury and are not very mobile good luck! I was on crutches and ther was no elevator in the garage. I had a choice to walk up flights of stairs to the main level or walk up the car ramps in the garage. The doors had not button that would automatically open them for the garage so I had to maneuver 2 large doors and crutches to get into the hotel. They told me there were some outside parking if I needed.....not sure what good that would do. Lets see...I am on crutches and if it is raining I would get soaked while trying to get into the hotel. I cant even imagine if I were in a wheelchair! The restaurant is ok. It is closed on Tuesday. Food is ok and atmosphere is very basic.Honestly I would not stay here again. I only ended up here because all other hotels were booked. Its ok I guess for a night but any longwr than that I would not even consider it and I have stayed at other Marriott properties that were nice . I am pretty easy to please but this just did cut it. I would equate to a motel 6.
I recently stayed at the Westchester County Marriott, Where I met the friendliest Desk associateI have ever had the pleasure to meet. Helpful, respectful, and just made us feel like royalty!!Room was beautiful. I would highly advise anyone who need a room while in town go here.
The only thing I would say that was something that needed improvements would be the lights in the bathroom. They were a bit dim. That being said, they worked, they didnt flicker and they didnt deserve the rating to go down. Thats just me being picky because there was nothing else that couldve used an ounce of improvement. Staff (and front desk in particular) was extremely nice, room smelt and felt clean, everything was great.
We just had another great stay at Residence Inn in White Plains. Our room was big, the service was friendly, and the amenities were great! We especially enjoyed the free breakfast and we were blown away by the free dinner idea! A great option to have, if youre staying long-term!
Robert, Kelly and Terrell made my stay one of the best Ive ever had at a Marriott. I cant say enough about their superior customer service! In an area where most people and/or companies shOw very little care for the consumer it is good to know that all hope is not lost for a great customer experience.Kudos to Marriott and its superior white plains staff!
The Residence Inn White Plains is a truly wonderful space for you and your pet! It has a wonderful breakfast to start the day . It has a superb restaurant on site and is centrally located within walking distance all that Westchester County has to offer with regard to fine dining and exquisite shopping. I always love this experience!
Dec2018/ daughters 18th bd was great--- suite was amazing-- fully stocked kitchen; good stay by all; location was easy access for frimeds who took local MeterN- 10 min walk to hotel, a plus!!! Why go to NYC-- WP has it all....thanks Residence Inn. We didnt have ANY issues at all.
We like staying here because we can have a big room (compared to the city), we can getting and out with our car to get around Westchester, and we can walk to the station to go into Manhattan. We like being able to buy groceries and have some meals here. We have found it consistently well maintained with personable helpful staff.
We had a wonderful New Years eve Stay we requested a upper floor facing Main Street and enjoyed watching the new years fireworks from the comfort of our Hotel Room. The breakfast on New Years day was plentiful, tasty and made our stay complete. We had a beautiful experience.
Robert and Mindiana (I think the spelling is wrong) are the best!!! At the end of a long day its great to see them at the front desk. They have the ability to smooth out a rough day and make a great day even better. They property is always clean and well maintained, rooms are great and all the staff are fantastic. White Plains Marriott is always my first choice in Westchester County. Thanks guys
Absolutely awesome rooms with fantastic desk staff!!! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Top 10 desk staff am and pm.. but... breakfast staff needs training. Every morning most every container was empty or near so, with an hr to serve and they were back in the back just chatting . I love Residence Inns and count of their consistency. I am sure this will be corrected

2022-03-20Fantastic customer service by Sterling at the front desk. The room was fairly clean but definitely in need of updating and maintence. Was surprised to not have air conditioning in an 80 degree room. Stated their air conditioning is seasonal and therefore not on in March. Thin walls so a bit loud. Otherwise a good stay and the staff was great.

2022-04-15The worse hotel in the area. Pulled up to the hotel and the driveway was blocked from a local smoking dope was impression 1. Then proceeded inside with an obvious broken AC that they said would be fixed. Got into the room and couldn’t even select cool on the thermostats because they where too cheap to get it fixed prior to the first 80 degree day of the year. Changed rooms with promises it was fixed and ended up sleeping in a 75 degree room with the windows open listening to the town all night. Just run down place that shouldn’t carry the Marriot name.

2022-02-17I had an important item stolen out of me room. I went to report it and they basically gaslighted me. They told me I was imagining it being stolen. They even got angry at me for reporting it. They never bothered to even offer a refund or compensation for the item. I would not recommend anyone stay here. Their maids steal and their service is unprofessional. Then they tired to charge me $50 for an outlet that they said was broken but it was not. I had been using it the whole time. It was in perfect condition.UPDATEAs you can see the hotel responded to my review the same way they responded the first time. This lets me know they havent changed. Step one gaslight. You can see the denied the charged me for an outlet for an outlet. Step two dismiss everything I have to say and remain defensive. Lastly place blame on the customer and deny responbility. As I stated in my original review I tired to file a report and if you decided not to file it that, that is on you. This is the hotel that my item was stolen and I am not mistaken. I would advise no one to stay here. As you can see if something goes wrong you will be blamed. They are not customer friendly.

2022-06-11Stayed here out of necessity. Probably wont again. Parking was weird. Chexk in was not great. Room was upgraded due to status, it was big for no reason but not nice, A/C wasnt working right. Probably wont stay here again.

2022-01-25Positive: Close to home, spacious suite, quiet. Negative: WAY TOO MUCH SANITIZING! I entered the room and had to open windows, smell of sanitizer everywhere. I understand that you are told by corporate to do this, but misuse of sanitizing products is toxic and harmful to humans. It made my skin tingle and sore.

2021-11-02Positive: The room was beautiful, clean and spotless. We had a pull out couch so sheets, blanket, and pillow probably should have been in the room. It wasn¿t a huge deal as room service brought it right up. We would stay here again. Negative: I don¿t agree with having to pay for parking. Not sure if this fee is from the hotel or city mandated.

2021-11-13Had a difficult time seeing place at night and parking doesnt just belong to hotel so there is a charge to park there. Very tight space for garage also. As we checked in there was someone smoking in garage area and in room next ours someone was smoking weed. It was so bad I felt like I was choking with smell which triggered my asma. There seemed to also be a vast amount of youths staying. Room was nice but couch was sinking a bit. The shower was great and pressure strong!! I didnt find staff to be super friendly either not that anyone was nasty. We wore a mask but didnt see everyone doing the same although some wore did. When checking out there were at least 12 ppl blocking exit area coming out from lobby into garage apparently there is a Chinese restaurant that has an entrance there threw lobby and no one at front desk instructed crowd to make a single line. Lots of restaurants in area beautiful fall foliage and had a great breakfast at a local pancake house around the corner from hotel. All in all was not the worse hotel I have been in but certainly not close to best either.

2021-10-09My husband was at Burke for rehabilitation and I was a wreck. I stayed at another hotel the week before. But as soon as I walked in to the Residence, I knew I could unwind. The staff were all friendly, the decor was tasteful, the setup in the lobby and outside were perfect for the covid fearful. I was able to unwind and sleep. The staff helped me get gluten free delivery and find a gluten free restaurant for lunch. Definitely recommend.

2021-07-22While home to spend time with my friends & family, it felt good to relax. I was taken out of the fast pace element of my line of work and was able to enjoy my time & stay. The overall cleanliness is 10, even with pets allowed. They followed safety measures to the best of their ability. The hotel was close to eateries, walking & deiving distance, aswell as the train and transit. The real home feeling came with the kitchen. Most hotels only have a stove top, but they have a full kitchen. The greatest part was the space, it more like an apartment than a hotel room. My overall rating is 12/10, would highly recommend!

2021-08-16Amazing customer service, extremely clean, huge parking lot for parking, sound proof rooms. Never had to complain about noise or disturbance. The people at the front desk are extremely helpful. I have stayed here three times and would not hesitate to do it again. Rooms are suite style and extremely spacious. Walking distance from the Galleria mall and many restaurants.
