Rincon Criollo in other cities:
Had to leave an an unbiased review because I went here based on reviews. Poor customer service and very unclean. We sat down for a few minutes and decided to leave. Prices on the menu photos are very outdated. The actual prices are way higher and don’t match the quality of service or cleanliness in this restaurant.
Poor first experience.Placed a take out order. Gave them 40 minutes to make a Cuban sandwich and sweet fried plantains.30 minutes late. Ignored me the whole time, then gave me “extra napkins” like that makes up for it.... and didn’t bother to thank me for my patience or patronage.Cuban was OK. Flavor was pretty lame. Plantains were delicious but for $6 they gave me literally 4 pieces. That’s ridiculous.Nice ambience inside and I bet they have some truly good food. But as a first experience, I don’t know if I’ll ever go back.
Raul was an excellent waiter very nice, entertainer, funny, helpful etc. food was delish, we ordered Ropa Vieja, chuleta de puerco & filete de puerco a la plancha! Everything was delish & perfect, drinks on point! Raul def was the best part of our dinner. Thank you Raul for your amazing service & personality! We appreciate you. No pics of food hehe so apologized for that. We were too hungry lol
I went with a group of 8, there was another large group and the dinning area was mostly full. The food was ok, but the kitchen could not keep up with the orders at all. It took over a half hour from the first app to the last app to be delivered to our table. The entrees were the same.... like I said the food was ok, but there was no consistency. There were 2 pork chops in one order, one was way over cooked and the other was slightly under. The special small tamales changed in flavor, dryness, and over all spice level through out the tables order. Overall the food seemed rushed and lacking depth, I can only assume this is because the kitchen was being overworked at the time, since they have a lot of great reviews. Even our waitress seemed to have trouble keeping up with all her tables, though it did seem that she was trying to. I would give this restaurant another chance if I was in the area, but not with a group larger then 4 at a time. Plantains were the best part of the meal, and the chorizo when cooked fully was also very tasty!
Absolutely Delicious! Just As I remembered it! I haven’t been here since the pandemic, tonight I ordered take out. Got the usual Ropa Vieja, Rice with black beans, fried sweet plantains and ham croquets..Amazing! Must try! This Place still has the family at home feel. When I picked up my order the restaurant was packed. I had to double park in the lot. I was happy to see them busy and still doing well. I was greeted by the friendly server, music was playing people were drinking at the bar and the place was filled with positive vibes. I Cant wait to return and dine in.
The staff here is super friendly and they make sure you feel like you are at home. After telling the waiter it was our first time he assisted with what was good to eat an what sides were best with what you ordered. He came over numerous times to check on us. The thing that was impressive was given extra rice to take come plus we were given a free shot. If its your birthday they make it a celebration when they sing Happy birthday. Food here was so good. Its a must try place.
If you want the best food in Huntington/Long Island come here!!!! The food here is so delicious and they have the best service and great people. The only thing is that sometimes you have to wait a little but its fast and you will be glad when you eat their food. (ALSO when its your birthday they have the best celebration ever) Best Place Ever
Been going to the Queens location for over a decade but the Huntington one, is our jam ! We come from Queens and it’s always worth the traffic and hike !!!! Never ever been let down ! The drinks , appetizers, entrees!!! Augh . This place is the most authentic gem and you’re tastebuds will thank you . !! Xoxo
WOW. Thats all I can say! Ok Ill say more... Everything that touched my lips was fantastic. The schredded beef was amazing, the smoked pork chops were off the chart and the chicken with garlic sauce was moorish. The staff was personal, friendly, helpful and fun. Rudy was great... Made everyone feel at home. We ended with the tres leches desert that was ridiculously delishous... Dont share that one... Topped of with a smooth rich Cuban coffee and surprise kiss... Youll have to go there to get one.
I would’ve given the place 5 stars. The host was great the waitress was awesome the food was great. The bartender was not hospitable, almost rained on myParade. It made me want to leave it was not even thatBusy and she hardly paid us any mind. Not even a welcome or a smile. But everything else was great glad we stayed.
Ive been eating at the Queens location since I was a kid and now that they have a LI location I try and enjoy it as much as possible. Great authentic Cuban food and the service is top notch. Birthday celebrations are always a good time. Give it a try, you wont regret it!
Hello my Google friends, Id like to say a couple of words about El Rincon Criollo in Huntington at 16 West Jericho turnpike in Huntington station, to begin we had a birthday party 4 my godfathers guardian angel -ochun there on Monday the 4th of November, a verbal contract was agreed upon for the event, and although the wait service was outstanding, and the waiters were very attentive to all of our family members and Friends, and the food was magnificent, the service that we were provided was not what was agreed upon at contract with the owner. The food was not enough for everyone to have their good fill, the drinks promised were not received, the beers were completely overpriced by the owner, although he had regular price of beers on a board behind the bar, an ice sculpture which was ordered was turned away by the owner when it was being delivered without notifying anyone from the party, which were there setting up, and at the end of the night when it was time to settle the bill, the owner tried to over price, and go back in his word, after having set a price at the verbal contract meeting, we believe this is why he didnt want anything in writing. I believe and find that to be very disrespectful, and unprofessional. This location should not host parties or events. They should stick to only their walk-in customers. Unfortunately although the food is wonderful, the owner Lacks professionalism when it comes to contracts, his word is less than valid, and his attention to his paying clientele, is appalling. He has a good demeanor about him, but I believe that that is to mask his greed. My family and friends have never been treated this way at a restaurant, especially when theyre holding an event for us, which good money is spent on, I would not recommend this place for hosting any events, parties, or anything that is over 4 to 6 people... And the funny part is, that the owner kept expressing how surprised he was that we were able to get over 60 people there for the event on a Monday, as he said he has never had a good Monday in his location. And that Mondays are very slow for him, and he cant express how much he appreciated us. To show appreciation you have to show professionalism, honesty, and integrity. Needless to say some people need to learn manners, and how to run their business properly. I am totally boycotting this place, and will continue to post a review on Yelp and any other social media at my disposal. To much money was spent, for this to have gone the way it went. And although most of the people that attended were not informed of all this drama on the evening of, Im letting you all know now. Dont go back there, unless youre ready to get screwed. Love you all, thank you for listening or reading, and I ask you boycott this place as well, as a show of support.... And share on your page as well.... Let everyone know, so this doesnt happen to them
This place is fantastic......This is my 2nd time, and both times have been amazing. Sooooo much delicious food! And the coconut mojito is delish:) My family had a great time. The owner is so personable and accommodating:)We went to celebrate daughters birthday who was so happy with her dinner. The music atmosphere was perfect. They owner/staff sang happy birthday that had ya moving.....We will definitely be going back soon:) Tha KS for a great experience!ohhh ropa veija and paella hands down delicious
This is my first time in the restaurant, and its not going to be my last one. The staff make me feel like I was back in Cuba with the foods and the way they treated us all. I was absolutely astounded by the way they make you feel from the moment you enter until you leave, which makes you feel part of the family. Food brings some good memories back to me. The taste is unexplained just how good it is. Id recommend someone whos looking to have some family time or someone whos looking to get out of the ordinary to experience it for yourself.
I mostly critique all place I go to and let me tell you I go to a lot and El Ricon Criollo blew me away!!! There wasn’t a single thing that I got that I did not like, hand down best Cuban restaurant in NY.Will definitely be back with friend so they can enjoy it as well
A hidden gem in Huntington for Cuban Cuisine. Live music on the weekends and a Bar for those Mojitos. Good food, portions could be a little bigger. Great Friendly Staff to practice your Spanish. I also have been to the original location in Queens. Just as good. Easy to see right off of Jericho Turnpike servicing Huntington and the adjoining areas of Suffolk County. Parking on the street is available but it fills up fast especially on the weekends and at night. There is a parking lot in the back. We will definitely be going back..
This is the BEST I mean the BEST Cuban Restaurant Ive ever been too. The food tastes like Im in someones Cuban mothers kitchen. Im here at least once a week its a must. Ropa Vieja to die for! Fried fish the best either one (filet or red snapper) Filet Rincon Criollo is so delicious! The empanadas, the yucca rellena...... I can go on and on about Ricon Criollo my Mom even said wow this taste like I cooked it Love this place and the service is exceptional!!!
Nice place great food the staff are good people. Long island like our country has been shut down. This restaurant is great and Im glad to see that there still standing. Manger told me his job is not to have big crowds. I recall before pamdemic I went to pick up food it was people all over such a busy place. You want busy when you go for food If place was quiet no customers. Well no one would go there
This place is amazing! The food is amazing! The roast pork, sweet plantains, flan and sangria were all delicious. Would definitely recommend this place. Has a nice outdoor section with a heater. Everyone who works here is super friendly and the service was great and quick!
Came here for lunch with my kids and my in-laws. Delicious food as always!!Highly recommend the chicharrón de pollo with white rice, beans and maduros. I always get a piña colada or a maracuya with milk. It’s always wonderful and always the best experience. Absolutely highly recommend Rincon criollo
Showed up while at a soccer tournament and they were full unless you had made reservations. Very typical in post corona, what was not typical was the warmth with which they invited us in, offered to seat us at the bar and have us eat dinner there. The Cuban food was spot on, the tamales were like the old grandmothers used to make, the bistek empalizado (breaded fried steak) was so delish and fresh, black beans were bangin’, seasoning was just right and don’t get me started on the plátanos maduros (fried sweet plantains) fritos! We also had the enchilado de langosta (lobster meat in a red sauce) followed it by the buñuelos which were so smooth on the inside and a little bit of crunch and had a great almíbar (syrup) , also like grandmothers of old made them. Aside from the food, como the bartender was great! Such a hard working and efficient worker, I want to hire her, all the employees we met were courteous, personable and good at their jobs. Service was great, friendly and fun!The ambiance was cozy with great traditional Cuban music, nostalgic pictures on the walls and a lot of locals who you can tell considered this place a second home.Highly recommend coming out for some real Cuban food, most authentic outside of Miami. It’s a great family run environment! We will be back!
My family has been going to Rincon Criollo in Queens since I was a kid back in the 70s. It was started by two brothers who fled Cuba. Great guys. The food is the best authentic Cuban food around. This newer location has the same great food. Nice ambiance and great service. I come for the chicharon de pollo... ask for the garlic sauce. Awesome!
Authentic Cuban cuisine. I tried the bacalao as an appetizer which was very tasty with very little bread filler. Main course was oxtail stew. The meat fell off the bone. Mojito was spot on.Tastones were not oily, fried to perfection. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Definitely a restaurant to experience.
Was excited to try authentic cuban food based on other reviews. It took about 20 minutes since we got our drinks to when they came to take our order, they only had 1 other table to tend to. Our food came out timely once we placed our order. The cod fritters were super greasy and could have used a dipping sauce because they werent very flavorful. The main dishes, lechon and ropa vieja were really good as were the desserts. However again we waited almost 40 minutes from the time we finished eating until someone finally came around and we could ask for dessert and the check at the same time. Never coming to check if we needed anything. Would like to go back but cant imagine how much worse the service could be if it got busy. 2.5 -3 stars really
Ive been a fan of this place since even before birth! My family has been going for our lifetime. Great food nice staff both locations are a must . Slow cooked braised oxtails are the best with arroz moro and sweet plantains . And Tuesdays theres live music. Very safe and intimate spot !!!!!!!much love for this place ❤
We love the Rincon Criollo in Queens. Just found out there is this place! Its more convenient for than going to Queens. We tried it out and we happy with the building, ample parking, lively and helpful staff, upbeat atmosphere , and of course, the food. This is authentic Cuban with plenty of Spanish food that can found in a kitchen or restaurant in Spain. For example, the croquetas (ham filled fritter) and Caldo Gallego( hearty comfort food soup). Both were good! The main dishes we had were spot on, the ox tail and the fried Snapper. The entrees come with sides so we were strategic so that we had a variety to share- red beans, white rice, mixed black beans and rice, yuca, and tostones. We finished with a latte, cappucino, and shared a flan. The flan is perfect. If you know Spanish or Cuban food, youll love it. If you arent sure, just order what we had or substitute a fish with Ropa Vieja, shredded roast, and you will not only have sampled a good range of Cuban food but youll leave full and have a doggie bag for tomorrow. Were going back! BTW, the Mojitos are the best in Suffolk County!
Bartenders are amazing Chantal and Emma are hands down a dynamic duo, THE BEST! The price is so reasonable, and the food is delicious. My new #1 GO TO spot! The atmosphere is amazing. If there is a friend or family youre looking to have a memorable time with, they have great entertainment for the members birthday! I will definitely be returning. If you havent tried it, you most definitely should.
Ive been going to the ricon criollo in Jackson heights for years. These people are amazing. I never had a bad meal/experience. This is the first time I was able to go to the one in Huntington and I was even more inlove with this restaurant. They totally took care of my bf and I. They even gave us a thank you shot at the end, which tasted like chocolate milk. Yum! They kind of make you feel like youre on vacation. I love the owners, the food, the servers, NO complaints. God bless them from serving amazing and the very best Cuban food.
Fabulous place to eat! Food is super good and the ambiance is relaxed. When it gets warm, you can sit outside and will be serviced proficiently. I love this place and its truly a neighborhood gem or a low-key quick turn-up for an awesome cocktail (they make great mojitos) and Latin cuisine. Very nice spot and highly recommend! Go there!
The atmosphere and vibrancy was a 5/5, the service a 4/5 and the food a 3/5. The sweet plantains and black beans and rice with bacon were pleasant. The steak on the grill was solid. However, the fried dough dessert was disappointing. Overall, its a good place to check out if youre in the area.
To start, the waitress was very dry. No intro and didnt even tell us the specials. The food was not all that either. The rice (moro) tasted just like box rice and it was cold. The roast pork was not seasoned properly. The food in general is just ok, nothing to die for. Anyone that is a real foodie and can pickup on the quality of good food will know immediately that the food here isnt all that great. But, I guess for a good number of people that dont care about the quality of food then theyll think that this place is good and those are the 4-star reviews that you see posted. When we were calculating the check, the waitress was in our faces staring. Not professional at all. It was like relax girl, youll get our payment when we figure it out. Not sure how this place gets any positive reviews. I wont be coming back.
So glad we stopped in for lunch! Place was delicious and servings were way beyond what we expected. We had the soup for starters, which was perfect and flavorful, and then the main course with 1/2 garlic chicken and the breaded steak was wow!!! The waitresses were so sweet and attentive. This place made for a really nice lunch. A must stop if you are in the neighborhood!
Some food was bland and other was good. The fried pork chops were bland, just fried with garlic. The codfritters, were bland. You can barely taste the codfish. Ropa vieja was good and of course, the rice and fried plantains were good. Cant mess that up. Drinks were really good!
Im sorry Rudy I didnt write a review because I was one of the biggest fans of the Rincon Criollo restaurants either in Queens .I was your mailman Sarge when your uncles had the restaurant .The food in Queens and in Huntington are both good. The restaurants are family run and keep up with the cuban traditions when his uncle had the restaurant. There are cuban restaurant but not like Rincon Criollo .I have been eating their food in Corona with the uncles since is was 5 or 6 with my mom.Go there on your birthday and having it at Rincon will be special. As an adult I have brought friends to eat there and also as your cartero Sarge .Rincon Criollo in Huntington is must eat destination and they also have a parking lot.Just enjoy and make it a cuban dining experience.I will come and visit soonSarge!!!!
A++ service and food!Look no further for authentic cuban food and good vibes that make you feel right at home. I’ve been here at least a dozen times, celebrated a birthday year, even had a company party here and they never disappoint. The staff is really friendly but the owner is just another reason to experience this restaurant. He’s fun & vibrant and takes your dining experience to the next level.Recommendations:Grilled chicken saladGrilled chicken with morro (authentic cuban rice. if you’re scared to try it, go home. I’m telling you - ORDER IT)Chicharron de pollo (garlicky fried chicken sooo good I’d slap my grandmother)Yuca Rellena (have some hot sauce with it - don’t be a punk)Anyway - stop reading the reviews. Go try it for yourself. It’s f*cking amazing. End of story.
Excellent wait staff very attentive. Food was great. I had breaded steck with rice and beans delicoius. The beans were amazing did include pork. The steak was tender a delicious. My friend had the pork chops and the serving size was hugeTwo pork chops grilled to perfection. We ordered the coconut flan.... WOW so very yummy. We were also treated to a treat of cocoa and evaporated milk shot that was excellent. Definitely wanna go back a sit in the outdoor seating area.
Great service and super friendly atmosphere...you feel as if you are dining at a good friends restaurant. The food is delicious and the prices are really fair. There are limited options for Puerto Rican dining on the Island and outside of the city, so Cuban is my go to alternative. A terrific eating experience.
Wonderful wait staff and food is authentically Cuban. Delicious. However, dinner on Saturday night is very crowded. They do not take reservations. We waited for over an hour in a crammed bar area, getting there at 7:30 p.m. We would have left earlier if we had another recommended place nearby and werent with another couple.
No words to describe a bit of home..Im Cuban, lived in Miami and this place is the best Cuban restaurant around!!!.. from the Ropa Vieja to the Bistec Emparnisado and the owner Rudy makes you feel as if youre visiting a family member..So if you want authentic Cuban food..this is it you guys hands down!! Delicious!
We just moved to the area and visited Rincon Criollo last night. It was exceptional, the food was amazing, and the service was fantastic. My wife had a Mojito and we both agreed it was the best we’d ever had and the food was just as good. We had Cubano sandwich’s, empanadas, and the soup. The soup was so good we ordered another bowl to take home. Lastly it was such a great experience that we are going back tonight. Can’t get enough of this place, HIGHLY recommended!
Maybe I dont get Cuban food. The staff and environment is nice. They have a interesting birthday celebration which is funny and cool as well. I been here at least ten times over three years maybe. Have friends who love it. Average cost per person is twenty five if you get the desert which is a sweet flan. They make excellent flavored rice, fried plantains, green plantains, yucca, white rice with bean sauce in separate bowls, hot sausage. The chicken proteins I always get with my sides and rice is always bland. I know meat cost a lot so they fill you up with good tasting sides. Next time I am going to get oxtail which several of my friends get all the time. Up till now the chicken proteins is the only lacking part beside the overly priced tool sweet flan. What about Tres Leche? Tried to make it three and half stars
Being from Florida Ive had my share of Cuban food. Rincon-Criollo not only makes some of the best Cuban food Ive ever had, it was a wonderful dinning experience. Our waitress was welcoming and informative. She even brought us samples of the days specials. Everything was perfect. Flavorful without being overly salty. Im not sure why other had an issue with the portions but my boyfriend and I ordered two entrees, which each came with two sides, and we shared everything. I couldnt finish it all. Eating here made me feel like I was at a friends house whose Cuban grandma was in the kitchen.
Cuban culture is exactly what this restaurant thrives on!!! The staff members are so professional and polite!!! Their Cuban sandwiches are filled with delicious flavor and zest!! Fresh dishes are always coming from their kitchen!! Please stop and try it out for yourself and you will be pleased with a fulfilling experience!!!!
Meh. Eaten here a ton of times, it used to be better. Food was a bit greasy and underwhelming. Appetizers were factory made and not cooked in house. Very nice owner and staff, but why pay these guys to reheat food they bought at Restaurant Depot. More than a little miffed that they pushed a special that came in frozen from a factory.
Fiance and I were craving Spanish food one night and stumbled upon this place on Yelp. I realized that this was the same Rincon Criollo as the one from Corona, just that this was a new(ish) location! We ate at the Corona one once a few years ago and loved the food there. The parking was just a hassle so the free parking at this location is a definite plus.Cute little cozy, family-like spot with a free decent sized parking lot in the back and outdoor seating area in the back of the restaurant. The staff members were always so polite, friendly and attentive. So far every dish we’ve gotten here was delicious and as an added bonus, you get a delicious complimentary chocolate liqueur dessert shot at the end of your meal. I had the ropa vieja (highly recommended) as take-out one time which looked like a tiny portion but was actually very filling and flavorful! I’ve tried their tres leches which I loved but my future father-in-law did not like it for whatever reason. My fiance always orders their tostones filled with meat (forgot what kind) as an appetizer (not sure if this item is listed on their physical menu). Their black beans with rice, maduros, tostones (it comes with a side of some sort of garlic dressing?), shrimp omelette (leave me alone, I was craving shrimp that night lol), flounder in garlic sauce (portion small but delicious) were all things that I’ve tried and liked/loved. Some of the dishes take extra time to prepare (1 hr) and is noted on the menu.Whenever someone is celebrating a birthday, they do the most hilarious all-out birthday entrance with birthday music over the speakers, darkening the room, flashing disco lights and a dancing waiter. So if you have someone celebrating a birthday and doesn’t like much birthday attention, definitely bring them here! :DTo date, my fiance and I have already eaten here 2 times + 1 take-out time and my fiance has already been here an extra 2 times with his family (they love this place too!) all within a few months. So yeah, we keep coming back lol! The wait even on a busy night wasn’t too long. I think the last time we went, it was a Saturday night and we waited about 30 minutes. I highly recommend trying out this place if you haven’t already!
Wow! The food, service and ambiance is just plain amazing at this place. The owner was shown on Diners, Driveins and Dives for good reason. Birthdays at this place are a blast because of his amazing personality alone. When I went yesterday I had the oxtail stew. Oh man it was so delicious! I was dipping my bread in the sauce afterwards it was that good. Many great restaurants in Huntington, this one is my favorite.
I often take my friends to this place with my warmest recommendations. I visit this place often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The the cooking is fantastic and the stuff is attentive and cooperative. always when we eat in this place we have a splendid evening. I recommend this place with pleasure.
So I found this place by chance. I was at the mall with my family and wanted something to eat, looked at nearby restaurants and Rincon Criollo came up. We stopped in on a Saturday night and the wait was about 45 minutes. I wasnt excited to wait but I was hungry and figured why not. Sat at the bar, had two drinks, and about an hour later was seated. We ordered a variety of things from the menu and the food came fairly quick. Once the food came I was glad I waited. It was excellent. Everything about it was perfect. The portions were just right, not to much to be gluttonous but enough to fill you up and be satisfied. Our waiter was really friendly and very personable. He made good recommendations to my gf who isnt very familiar with Spanish/Cuban food. I enjoyed this place so much that I went back 2 weeks later and had just as great of a second time experience (but with only a 5 minute wait). Id recommend this place if you want great home style Cuban food. Just know that the later it gets on the weekend the wait time will start to get up there, but even with that youll be glad you waited. Try the yuca rellana youll love it, I did. 😁
Had the oxtail. Nice flavor but larger pieces could use more cook time. Was hard to eat with meat not fall off the bone tender. Smaller pieces were perfectly cooked. Rice and beans were ok, a tad salty. Not a fan of the cassava with the garlic sauce. Would come back to try other items. Paella at another table looked good.
We were a party of 10 for my birthday on Saturday. The food and service was spectacular. I lost count of how many times Rudy did a funny Birthday or anniversary skit for their customers including myself. Im been going with my parents since I was kid to their location in Corona, Queens. Fantastic job with now also in Huntington.
I had a steak sandwich for lunch. It wasnt on the menu and had to ask if there were any lunch options.. just 3 types of sandwiches (steak, chicken, Cuban). There wasnt a lot of meat on the sandwich and it had a strange flavor. Others in my group were satisfied with their lunch.
Yes , I love Rincon Criollo because the service is good. They give you lots of yuca and fried pork with a twist of West Indies culture. Then a shot of sampling to eat the cholesterol and hit Cuban coffee to elicit the taste of Columbia /Cuban exotic blend. The way to know if restaurant is clean, just visit the bathroom and be astounding at the ambience. Amen god Amen.
Well what can I say? This is my third time coming to this restaurant and it will be the last! The first two times we came the food was really good and I wish I could say that now because the food is total opposite. It seems as if they have no good chef?, because I dont know whos cooking in the back?, but hes definitely not a chef.... And if its still the same chef then something happened to him?Somebody must have clobbered him over the head with a frying pan and gave him amnesia. All kidding aside the quality of food has dropped and the prices went up so A typical of Long Island restaurants.... adios! No 5 stars!!!! Stay away from the Codfish fritters.... totally disgusting.... messing this up is definitely a sign they arent authentic...
A far cry from the original Queens location on Junction Blvd. Croquetas were overcooked = burned. Cuban sandwich would have flipped the owners because it had threads of old tasting pieces of pork (pernil) that should have not been used because it tasted rotten and ruined the sandwiches -- we couldnt eat them although we did pay for them. It was my husbands birthday and they brought a flan with a candle, which we did not ask for, and were charged for. Finally they tripled charged us on the bill and had to change the bill when we brought it to their attention. Place looks run down, food is sub-par and please check your bill before paying to make sure you are not overcharged. Bad experience and I hope someone in authority reads this as, next time, we are off to Junction Blvd.
If delicious Cuban meals is what you’re looking for this is the right place. There a re wife range options for you to pick, my favorite being carne frita (fried steak) with black beans and white rice. They have a delicious selection of appetizers. The ambiance is calm and entertaining as the classic Cuban Salsa music playing in the background loud enough to be enjoyed but low enough to hear the person in front of you talk. The service was polite and supportive in explaining the menus and the meals are quick to appear on your table. A good choice in meal if ever there was one.
Waitress understood gluten free well - no dedicated menu, but they say anything not fried is safe. Im very sensitive and had no reaction to their smoked pork chop, which was excellent and enough to feed 2. Paella and arroz con pollo are orders intended for 2, but average people could split it 3 or 4 ways and be satisfied, take an hour to prepare, but are also excellent avoiding to my family. Fried green plantains were rather bland, but the yucca side dish is wonderful if you like garlic. They can be heavy handed with garlic in general, so ask for less or none if you dont like it that way.
Ok, so I grew up in Long Island, moved to the Bronx and then Manhattan. I have had my share of authentic Cubano cuisine and I must say, The looks of this place had me thrown for a loop at first. This is the definition of hole in the wall, but I must say...this PLACE ABSOLUTELY SLAYED IN THE KITCHED. Wow. The paella absolutely knocked it out of the park.We celebrated my moms birthday and I must say. You owe it to yourself to tell the waiter when you place a reservation. To finish it all off a nice little chocolate liquor shot to leave you feeling wonderful.
Best, most authentic cuban food that Ive eaten outside of Miami. May even be the best, period! If youre looking for very sophisticated dining, this may not be your place. But if you want to eat great food in a cozy, very friendly and very authentic kind of place for a reasonable price, then come here! And while here try their excellent mojitos!
The wait on a Saturday night is just too long. We waited almost 2 hrs for a table for 7 people. I would not have waited had I not been celebrating my sisters birthday. The drinks and appetizers were very good, especially the yuca rellena - stuffed cassava. Unfortunately, my main entree ropa vieja - shredded steak was just ok in my opinion. I do have to give the staff an A+ for excellent service and friendliness.
The food was alright but after giving the waiters a tip, one of the waitress ran after us to the car just to tell us we didn’t tip enough. I don’t accept that going to anywhere. And the fact that he followed all the way to our car is disrespectful. I have no obligation to give them a tip, and even tho I did he had the nerve to follow me outside and say it wasn’t enough.
I love this place ! I recommend the roasted pork it’s got so much flavor. I also really like the roasted garlic half chicken. It’s not dry chicken it’s always really good. Also if you like dessert try the tres leches cake it’s really good ! Btw this place is so affordable which is a huge ++
Top notch cuban food with great desserts and even better drinks. Definitely a place for carnivores. Sweet plantains, coconut mojito and coconut flan are some of our favorites. Be sure to plan enough time. Some of the dishes take a while to cook but apps and drinks should keep you busy.
Authentic Cuban cuisine is hard to find! Ive been frequenting Rincon Cirollo since I was a kid growing up in Queens at their Jackson Heights location. Rincon is known for serving authentic Cuban food and very reasonable prices. The newer location on the Island is much nicer IMO with a full bar and parking lot to boot. Worth the trip. Order the Ropa Vieja!
The best place for authentic Cuban fare. Rincon Criollo is one of the few restaurants Cuban run and owned by the same family since 70s. Rudy the owner always at the helm, greeting and entertaining all the guest.Start with a Mojito at the Mojito Bar, fallow with the roast pork for dinner. All fairly priced.Bon appetit
First they let you TASTE red and white Sangria to see which one you may like, then they have very pretty waitresses that are super attentive. On top of that the wait staff is happy to be there. I stopped counting after the fifth person asked us if everything was ok. Jokes and smiles and recommendations on food and drinks. Including desserts and coffee. Take their word, you would not be disappointed. They like the food just as much as they like working there. Fried Sweet Plantains are the bomb. Pulled Flank steak oh my and then dessert, where should i begin. OH the Dulce de Leche and the flan together... another recommendation, eat it together ... I could go on, but you get the idea. FANTASTIC!!
I cannot believe people are giving this place 5 stars ,the only thing that was good was the diet coke that was given to me in a can. the black beans if you could find some in the black juice i could count how many on one hand and the conch fritters had very little conch and a lot of oil yes oil they did not dab the oil after it came out of the fryer. we also had shrimp scampi i think they forgot the spices and finally the flank steak was like eating a sloppy joe. Im sorry but the french fries were ok. so i gave the place 1 star because of the people that work there and the service was very good.

Im Puerto Rican and Panamanian so I hold Spanish restaurants to a high standard. This place is a gem. Food reminded me of my moms cooking, actually she approves! Excellent food, waiters are great. This place blows Besito out-of the water!!! The place is simply Authentic.. Spanish cuisine doesnt need fusion or need to be fancy. If it aint broke dont fix it! Will come here again!

2022-04-20Authentic Cuban. Im a new yorker but covered the tennis matches in key Biscayne every year for 25 years. Was an immediate fan of Cuban food. Retired 6 years now and miss it. So happy I found this place by accident. Reviews are spot on. The staff is amazing. They know there serving quality, well prepared food and proud of it. The ox tail was delicious paired with there house Merlot. Home made flan with cafe con leche topped it off. Thanks momma!!!! Rolled steak with ham and cheese. Pottage soup, highly recommended.

2021-08-27Good food. Staff were really friendly.I had the fried grouper. Its good but its portion size is relatively small. Each meal comes with two sides so you still end up pretty full.Fried sweet plantains were amazing.

2022-06-14The most over priced maduros this side of the city. Wait staff seemed annoyed. Food was great but they really want you to eat and PAY….then get out….or take it to go!They must have sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY 10 times while I waited almost an hour for the food order. The flavor is still worth giving this mom and pop vibe a try. Especially if you enjoy quality authentic Cuban cuisine.

2022-03-07Great food and service. You feel like youre eating at your parents getting that top notch home cooked food. Legit not a bad thing on the menu. Its a small spot so sometimes theres a wait. Be patient, its worth it and you wont get seated faster by complaining

2020-09-18First time that Im here..what a nice place! sat outside and in times of Covid it was still very nicely decorated ! family owned and operated as we were told by one of the owners.. food was fantastic full of flavor! having lived in the Miami area for many years this was actually a awesome treat..even the coffee tasted authentic and delicious 😋 I dont live anywhere near here (about 2 1/2 hours away) but having been here for a little exploration of Long Island.. this might be a reason to drive up here! so in conclusion- a great place with delicious food and super friendly staff!
