Found this place on a random search, and now going to be a customer for life. For 1) this is best silky smooth and creamy ice cream I have ever eaten. 2) my sweet molly was allowed in.The employees were so humble and hospitable. I promise that you will not be disappointed witb anything that you order!
Best fried vanilla ice cream! It looks like a giant doughnut (Boston creme) except with vanilla ice cream drizzled with hot fudge on top. The ice cream is still firm in the middle. Large selection of various specialty ice creams as well as flavors. Definitely stop by hear if your in the Port Jervis area. Also has a nice seating area outside overlooking the Delaware River.
Great place to stop by for dessert. Theres an amazing array of Ice cream flavors. Got the panda paw flavor, which basically contains peanut butter cups, chocolate fudge, mixed into vanilla ice cream. Get a cone and enjoy the three full scoops. Relax in the outdoor area over looking the Delaware River.
Took the family and extended family out for dinner and then went to the Creamery for dessert .Due to COVID, they had outside seating next to the Delaware River. Ordered a banana split and devoured it. The rest of family ordered various other ice cream flavors on cones.Family and I loved the ice cream. Would recomend to anyone wanting large portions of awesome ice cream at reasonable prices. Will be back again....
First encountered this place in 2014 working at Camp Greenkill. Stopped back in today on our way to Connecticut. (Parked our Semi-truck at the PA welcome center and walked. Only about a mile.) Its looking a little run down on the outside but the food is still just as good as I remember. We loved sitting by the river and eating Dorkos and ice cream again.
Havent been in a couple of months, since its now fall and theyre probably closed for the winter. But love this place. An old time ice cream parlor in todays time. I like almost everything about it. Good deserts and such. Its not cheap, but no overly expensive either. A really great place for a treat. Its on a side road on the NY/Penn border on the NY side.. Right on the Delaware river with a nice river walk near by. And it has good parking. Again, love this place.
Excellent homemade ice cream, especially on a summers day. There are tables out back above the river, which is a lovely atmosphere to have your favorite flavor in. We stopped by over this past weekend and found that they were closed at around 3:30 pm. Thought it would still be open, as the traffic indicated that there werr so many folks on the road looking at the foliage and enjoying a beautiful and warm October day. We were all so disappointed.
The food was pretty good. I had my first molten lava cake and it was pretty good. It is a really nice place though. My favorite thing about it is probably the river side view. Just sitting there while enjoying my molten lava cake was a nice treat. Would definitely go again.
All the hype is true. The food is great and the deep fried ice cream... my wife was hesitant to split one because shes not big on dessert or chocolate... when it came I blinked and she had it half gone. She said it was the best dairy dessert she ever had, and it really was special. Its vanilla ice cream wrapped in a funnel cake type batter and covered in hot fudge. Just wow. Cant wait to go back.
Cute Ice Cream Parlor on the banks of the Delaware. Only had root beer floats because that was what we were craving. We will be back for bigger and better offerings. Everything looked great. Might change from 4 to 5 stars if the looks of the desserts match the taste next time.
So so so good. Never had a bad experience coming here. The ice cream is so good and the people who work there are always really helpful. Parking is easy and you’re right along the water, so if it’s a nice day you can even take your ice cream and go for a walk along the river path (although they have ample seating inside, too).
Yummy selection of desserts and dinner-fare items. Great atmosphere and excellent service. I like the unique desserts they offer, but, unfortunately, did not get to try. They dont make their own ice cream, but they serve Perrys Ice Cream made in Buffalo, NY. Great ending to a day rafting on the Delaware River. Would definitely stop in again for a treat if ever back in the area.
It isnt easy finding great service anywhere. Especially if youre trans and on a date. While that may be true at other restaurants its pretty much the opposite at the Riverside Creamery. My date was fun, delicious, and friendly thanks to the atmosphere and staff. Oh and the ice cream! Cant wait for my next visit soon!Looking forward to summer ice cream dates!
Everything is good here, but especially the ice cream. The even have a few flavors with no sugar added. The food ranges from good to tasty. It all happens in a nostalgic 50s to 60s atmosphere. You can sit at a table or at the counter, just like you may have dinner in a soda shoppe back in the day. We stop by regularly.
Wonderful ice cream and great views of the Delaware river. The place is cozy inside with fast service and friendly. The benches outside are just a few yards from the river and you can enjoy unobstructed views of the river, bridge and Pennsylvania across the river. Definitely a must visit for all icecream lovers
Trying to edit my previous review. I wasnt too comfortable when I visited this pace. The young waitress wasnt friendly at all. If she used 10 words to me and my family, that was alot. The food portion was so small, and the unfriendlyness of the waitress, I questioned if there were two menus. 3 chicken strips for $4.95, the fries was extremely small, maybe 10-15 fries, and it took forever to come. The icecream was delicious, their selection has a nice variety of flavors. The banana boat was a good portion, but the topping was a bit small and not as I ordered. On the other hand it was really delicious, so I overlooked the topping.I dont think Ill be returning. It sucks because the variety of icecream is on point.
Definitely a fun place to visit if youre passing through Port Jervis or across the Delaware in Matamoras in PA. I would give this cute ice cream parlor 5 stars if they had a selection of frozen yogurt flavors or sorbets (for those lactose-intolerant).Anyhoo I had a small cup almond joy which is vanilla ice cream based and would have tasted better with a scoop of chocolate to mix with it.Nice view of the Delaware from the small patio behind the store.
I have fond memories of the Riverside Creamery. I grew up down the street from it. I remember sneaking over to it all of the time. It was my favorite date place, and it was just nice to sit outside and look at the stars and city lights over the water. The ice cream was the best (Perrys!) and recently, they have food-food.The service always kind of stank, even if there was no one else in the place. The owners are pretty good. The other employees are hit-or-miss.
This is most definitely the best place to get ice cream! The staff are super friendly and understanding, the food is outstanding, and the wait isnt very long. Only problem is they are not open year-round.... only from March to October. But other than that, Riverside is amazing!
It’s Perry’s ice cream. They don’t make it so I’m not sure why they call it a creamery. It is a great atmosphere, looks like it was never updated so the 50s vintage feel is ideal. Seems like a hit with the locals but i walked away wishing my Ice cream came from a small local dairy.
Beyond amazing their ice cream is so good there are so many different options I wish I could try them all the staff is very friendly and its very clean and cute and got old timey style and its just it was just awesome to go there and their ice cream really topped it... I just cant it was simply amazing. There just is Not Enough stars🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟😁💖💖💖
We stopped by after visiting the Gillenger Glass factory. This little place was great. The vintage decor and wurlitzer spinning oldies creates a 50s soda shoppe feel. The staff were willing to indulge our food creations with our add-ons to the existing pannini sandwich menu. The food was very tasty and delivered quickly. We all tried fried ice cream for the first time and we are hooked!Great place for an afternoon lunch! My family had a great time :)
I don’t know why this place is someone go to ice cream spot. I can only speak on the ice cream that was disgusting. Firstly it’s only Perry’s ice cream which is gross to start with but they over charge for it so bad that you could probably buy all of the Perry’s ice creams on your own and still make out better!
Ordered a buffalo chicken qusadilla with no ranch. The chicken is supposed to be fried, they gave me grilled. Sent it back and then they put ranch. Sent it back again. Got it right the 3rd time but the people gave back the one with ranch and wrote buf chicken with ranch as on menu they are so rude there and the ice cream isnt even that great. Save yourself the trip and get some store bought food.

2021-08-30This Ice-cream Palor is a piece of history trapped in time. Its art deco is right on point with a 1950s soda store. Very family oriented and friendly service. Along with great Ice-cream and burgers Its a Grand Slam. Eating over the Delaware River was picture perfect.

2022-05-01Riverside Creamery is the best ice cream in Port Jervis. Additionally, there’s a little picnic area for you to sit and take in nice views of the scenic Delaware river.

2022-04-06This place is amazing and makes the best ice cream in town. It us always fun to look forward to when they reopen every year. The inside is very cool and looks like it is straight from the 50s. I dont want to downplay the outside, It is amazing too with a nice view of the river.

2021-09-05We came for shakes and ice cream, ended up also getting burgers, fries and grilled cheese. Everyone is so nice. And the views were pretty. Highly recommend!

2021-07-31Great ice cream and lots of flavors and desserts to choose from. Fried ice cream was good but I thought it came with way too much fudge on top. Crazy because I like fudge but it just overwhelmed the flavor of the fried ice cream. Service was fast and the girl up front was sweet.

2022-04-25My favorite place to visit since previously living in PJ, is the Riverside Creamery. Their ice cream is rich and one can have a variety of sundae options to choose from. Their whipped cream is also to die for! The perfect topping to any sundae. Of the flavors- Peanut Butter Explosion and Salty Caramel are my favorites. The Riverside Creamery also has cakes and home made fudge to offer. Overall, if you want real ice cream- dont go to the grocery store! Take a trip to the Riverside Creamery- you deserve it!

2022-06-12Stopped on a road trip. Delicious food and ice cream and fast service. Got our food and ice cream for four people in less than 20 minutes. Slightly expensive, but small town road side places tend to be a bit more. I believe the ice cream was Perrys which Ive never heard ofEdit: apparently not Perrys. I must have spied an old sign. Thank you for the correction :)

2020-09-15Incredible. Service was excellent and fast. Atmosphere was inviting and just like a diner parlor. The food and Ice cream was delicious and just what youd want. The deep fried Ice cream which is their signature dish was absolutely delicious. I will definitely come here again and would recommend them for anyone with a sweet tooth. They are also established right on the river so you can eat and enjoy the view. 5/5

2019-03-03Looking for old school ice cream parlor with a great menu and fantastic desserts, this is the place for you.The staff is amazing. The service is gracious. The food looks as good as it tastes and the dessert is the kind you save room for and dream about until you can get her again to try another one. Prices are very reasonable.
