The redo of this park has made it incredibly popular. I am not a skater but I am truly blown away by how busy it is at all hours. There are two parts of the park now. The main part with smaller features is always open. The other part with I think a 12 foot feature is still under construction. This is the feature that made this park famous and unique.
It’s a really nice skatepark it’s for street riders because they don’t have the bowl yet. Make sure that you go there after 3pm cause there is construction till 3pm)) And the part of the skatepark that I have on the picture is already built so don’t worry)) Stay Sade out there.
Looked like a great skate park, but they were closed end everything was locked up. There was no point in hopping the fence because there were big metal tubes chained to almost every obstacle in the park. But on the good side there were some really great stairs and rails around the park. They had a bit of a rough roll away but were still able to be skated. There was also some good flat ground with not many people leading up to where the skate park was
Always locked. Irregular hours. No bmx. What a beautiful waste of space. 99% percent of the year this park is empty and not in use because its kept locked. It has the potential to be the nicest park in the city for bmx and skateboards but the managers choose to allow to it to go to waste. NYC has the worst skate parks system of any city in the east.
Potential to be great, but managed horribly. Its the only skatepark Ive ever been to that requires FULL PADS. Requiring a helmet is fine, but forcing everyone to wear knee pads and elbow pads is ridiculous. Its extremely constricting and very uncomfortable. Im sure those who created the rules dont skateboard, but take it from me and everyone else that has ever stood on a skateboard: wearing knee pads makes skateboarding much more difficult much less enjoyable. The skatepark is also closed the vast majority of the time and opens for to the public very late in the season and closes early. All around very poor waste of what could be a fantastic spot for the many people on the UWS that love skateboarding, biking, etc. Im disappointed to say the least.

2022-02-13Great local outdoor concrete skatepark. Lots or ledges and places to grinde. Great 4 halfpipe. Awesome bowl with an 8&12 section.

2022-05-26The problem with this skatepark is that it’s an issue to get to and out from. No handicap Accessibility at 108th Street for those that live or visit in the neighborhood. You have to enter all the way down at 96th street. Not a fan on the location of this park. Last time I been to this park was 2001 and all this remodeling and not talks about fair entrance for all. NYCParks need to make a skatepark in Central Park “such a better park” hands down

2020-10-04This park is rad. Solid flow, insanely fun mini. A decent variety of obstacles for rail and ledge skaters. There’s even some space to skate flat ground or get weird on a bank to slappy. Can get crowded with scooter kids at certain times, but overall one of NYC’s best.

2022-05-22The skate park was really good but to the fact that you have a long way up or down to leave or get in is tiring

2021-10-19A great local park founded by the late great Andy Kessler who should in my opinion be its namesake. Used to have more verts but after recent concrete construction has more rails and is more beginner friendly. As of today the bowl is still under construction. Yes, there are scooter kids and a lot of bikes at times but you have to share the space. Definitely one of the better skate parks in the city.

2016-10-09This skate park could be amazing but the hours posted are extremely limited. Full pads are required and dont even think of hopping over the fence, all features are locked down with chains and obstacles.

2020-12-11Riverside skate park is an absolutely magnificent place to be, it is built well and properly so it will last a long time. There is always a community of skateboarders and observers, at all times of the day. If you are a skater or just enjoy witnessing the sport, this is the place to do it. It is miles from what it used to be, and I mean that in a good way.

2021-06-11Can y’all finish the bowl? Nyc is full of roller skaters since the pandemic. We need a bowl in this city! The tiny one at Golconda does not suffice. This park is beautiful otherwise. For everyone complaining about the redesign not including a vert- 90 percent of skaters do not want it lol. The redesign is inclusive and allows skaters of all levels to carve/ drop in.
