We stayed two nights at Rodeway Inn with our dog while visiting Ithaca. It didnt look real nice from the outside, so I was a little nervous. Front desk staff were nice and once we checked in, the room was very nice, spacious and clean with plenty of room for us, the dog and our luggage. The bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. They even has a pretty nice breakfast in the morning. I had missed the Belgian waffles since most hotels got rid of breakfast. Overall, a really nice stay and would recommend for anyone traveling with a dog.
The price was very reasonable. Management/front desk gentleman was so friendly and helpful. Love that its a family run business. We had a delay in closing on our house and staying here provided a stress-free and cost effective option (other hotels in Ithaca are so expensive! Why?!). Rooms were clean and it was nice to have the breakfast before work. Spouse was able to work remote in the hotel room with wifi. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend to others. Remodeled insides looked great and really really nice and accommodating people.
Wonderful staff, clean and quiet rooms despite being of a major road. The five nights we spent there were pleasant. Price was right and we were not expecting the rooms to be so well kept. Its close to downtown Ithaca and far enough away. We liked it was located right around three state parks.
I spent 4 nights in Roadway Inns in Ithaca NY, and i would definitely recommend this to other travelers. I was visiting friends who did not have enough room to put me up, so i didnt spend a lot of time in this hotel. But the the time I did spend met my selective needs: it was clean, the bathroom was clean and large enough, the bed was very comfortable, and I felt safe and secure. The fridge and microwave came in very handy, both were not too noisy. The room temperature control was easy to use and worked very well.
We felt that the room and the amenities was a bit overpriced at $230/night. If the room was $100/night or less, this would be 5 stars. The room smelled of pool water. They had minimal towels and shower products. The room was dark and not very renovated. The bed had bad poor quality sheets. However, the breakfast was great. They had waffles and sausage. The service was great.
I was a little nervous at first but, pleasantly surprised in the end. This place looks a little run down from the outside but the rooms are large, clean and updated. The bed was comfortable. The price is reasonable and it is conveniently located. They are dog friendly which is a plus. I’d stay here again.
My wife was a bit skeptical, due to the low price, but upon arrival we were greeted by a genuinely nice front desk manager, who set us up with a very modern and clean room. It seems to be family run and they all really care about the guests happiness. We also brought our dog and they were great about it. Stay here, you won’t regret it
Super clean, comfortable room. Safe and secure. Air con worked perfectly. Everything so clean!!! Easy and friendly check in. So spacious and the lobby/ breakfast area is so clean and pretty. Bed was super cozy even though a king. Lots of fluffy pillows. Bathroom was sparkling clean too. Highly recommend and will come again.
When I booked my 2 rooms for my sons graduation a year in advance, Patrick at the front desk made booking so easy and stress free. Everytime I called with a question the front staff was so pleasant. Check in was quick and the rooms were super clean. Thank you Patrick and your brother for making our hotel experience the best. This was the third time we stayed here and we will definitely stay here again!
Nice rooms: clean and quiet, good size. reasonable rates. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Great customer service, polite, warm courteous, accommodating to needs. They are NOT using Covid as an excuse to cut corners and limit service as so many in the industry are.I highly recommend!
During my career on the road I have stayed at hundreds of these types of hotels. I was amazed at how quiet the room was. The staff was pleasant, helpful and caring. Room was clean, as was outside grounds and parking areas. I would highly recommend this property when visiting the Ithaca area.
This hotel was so clean and so comfortable! The bed is wonderful, the shower fantastic. The staff were so courteous and terrific in helping me with everything. The breakfast the next day was delicious and hot. An incredible place to stay for a very low price in a gorgeous area! Close to beautiful hikes also close to food and shops! Id easily stay again!
It’s an economy inn on the outskirts of Ithaca and I took a chance because of the good reviews. They were accurate. Sparkling clean room. Friendly and effective staff. Great coffee. Good location between two state parks. A little worn and some dated features like the bedding. But I was really glad I chose to stay there. I paid significantly more for a “nicer” hotel on the first leg of my trip and though it appeared nicer at first glance, it was not nearly as clean and the coffee was terrible.
Ive been here 3 years straight. Always pop up for the summer when we visit the ithaca falls. Great prices, Great breakfast. Very Accommodating staff! And we always throw out yearly BBQ at the actual hotels Gazebo. They have a BBQ grill there. We parry till late night! Nonlrobkem...Good times
This hotel is wonderful because it is close to both the colleges, the lake, the state parks and all the waterfalls. It is located just outside of the busy part of town but close enough to make it convenient. The rooms are as nice as any five star hotel. There is plenty of parking and lots to do in the area. I have stayed here multiple Times for both vacation and visiting my daughter at school. It is clean and modern
Opened door when we first arrived and hit with moldy / musty odor. Glad we only stayed one night because we were concerned for our health. Mentioned this to front desk worker as we were leaving and he seemed surprised... said the rooms were just painted and maybe that’s what we smelled?? Now, I read these reviews and see musty moldy smell has been complained about for years. Other than musty smell, room was in line with the budget price. Won’t stay again due to odor.
The hotel is undergoing remodeling and it looks very nice. The front desk staff / manager couldnt have been more accommodating and pleasant. The rooms were very nice and even got a step stool for my mother in law as she was too short to get into the tall beds. The breakfast was hot and fresh and had a good selection. Location was great for the wine trail. Was very helpful when we were looking for restaurants. I would stay here again for sure!
This hotel offers a sense of nostalgia, with how I remember hotels when traveling with my family as a kid. The room we stayed in was considered a suite, with 2 beds & a pullout sofabed. It was very spacious! My son and I stayed here for a college visit to Cornell and it was just 10 mins drive into campus. We could tell the carpet was brand new, and so were the beds and bathroom! It was completely remodeled which was so nice. The beds were very comfortable (even my teenage son said so which says a lot). It also had a small kitchen area right when you walked in the door with a small frig, microwave & dining table with 2 chairs. The only thing we werent used to was that this was motel-style in that the door opened directly from the ground floor parking lot into the room. Our car was right there. This is great if you have a lot of carry or dont like to walk far. If youre used to the added security of having a hallway outside your door, plus a building door to enter, just be aware of that. We had NO problems & felt that the area was nice, the grounds very clean, safe & inviting, and the manager (I think the owner) very friendly, helpful & kind. We only had a quick breakfast that we grabbed to go, but it was very good (egg & cheese omelet, bacon and juice). They had other choices, but we were in a rush. Overall, a very affordable hotel that felt clean, safe, comfortable & nice. Wed stay there again and may do so if our son goes to Cornell.
Modest motel, but newly remodeled and very clean and quiet. The heater made just about zero noise; it was the quietest of any hotel in the past couple of years. The tub had an excellent texture for non-slip standing in the shower. We had an inside room, nice and dark, with a curtained window in a separate area. Good price. We would definitely stay there again.
Id stayed there 10 months earlier, hard up to find a place to stay,as it did not look so inviting. The room was just fantastic, and the service was super also. So when I was headed to Ithaca again, I knew this is where Id stay if they had availability. I called hours befoe I arrived, once I knew I would make it thaty day, and decided even than that Id stay three nights. I was not disappointed at all. Room and service were still great, and they had been updating and making it even better.
We had left a hotel (different brand) right after check-in because of a cleanliness issue, and we needed to find another hotel quickly since it was late in the day. Because we were traveling we had no wifi, but fortunately I had the Ithaca Rodeways phone number in my notes, so I called. The person who made our reservation was very helpful and quick. Check-in was quick and easy, and staff members were very nice to deal with. The room rate was reasonable. The motel had recently been remodeled, and everything inside and out was very new-looking and clean. The room was comfortable and quiet. The bed was a little too high for us 70-somethings to get into, but we had a laugh over our attempts. The complimentary breakfast was more than adequate.
1. Updated and very clean.2. Very comfortable king size bed.3. Friendly staff.4. Great breakfast. I used the mini egg omelet and ham slices and made a breakfast sandwich with a fresh, toasted bagel.4. Close to shops and hiking areas/State parks.5. Great price and highly recommended for a short or long term stay.
This place got terrible reviews a few months ago because it was being refurbished. Not the job is done and the hotel was surprisingly good. The rooms were clean and comfortable apart from the pillows. The bathroom was clean and new with a good strong shower.. I have never seen a wider selection of TV channels. Internet connection was easy and excellent.Breakfast was fine and there was hot coffee all day. They need a covered way from reception to the rooms, and the reception area and breakfast room are too cold. Please fix this. The staff were excellent, warm, friendly and welcoming.Best value in Ithaca, which is an expensive town for hotels.
Big, clean room at a great price! The king bed was like new and very supportive yet comfortable. We were in the new part that was built new a few years ago. In addition to other stuff, the free breakfast included whole egg and cheese foldovers to which you could add ham or real bacon and put it on a bagel. Family owned - Patrick is a nice guy, hell talk with ya. We recommend this place and well stay here again.
I almost didn’t stay here because of the poor reviews, disregard them! This hotel is brand new completely rebuilt! I stayed here a couple years ago it must be new management the couple that run it now are very friendly and polite. I was impressed with how welcomed they made me feel. They have breakfast and coffee in the morning. The breakfast isn’t great but the coffee was. The rooms have a lot of space with all new furnishings. Quality construction not cheap. This place is close to downtown Ithaca and very close to the State parks if you like hiking.
The nearby pond produces a musty odor that can be smelled in our room which was on that side of the property. The room was a great size, pet friendly with a refrigerator and microwave. The check in process was easy and friendly. Would of been a higher rating if not for the moldy , musty smell that penetrated into the room.
The room was clean and comfortable. The AC was quiet too and worked really well. The staff and management were friendly. We stayed with our dog and he was comfortable too and there was a nice area outside for him to do his business. The location with regard to downtown was reasonable (about 10 mins). Would stay again if/when I come back.
Superior customer service and hospitality attentiveness. Clean rooms and very obviously Extremely well run for an unbeatable price. We were in town for less than a day for a wedding and the brief time we were there, it was very obvious the management cares about a comfortable stay. Check in was prompt and he gave clear directions on how to find our room; i filled up my water bottle and he noticed the water filter was nearly empty and before i could even look up, i was brought two fresh water bottles! These attention to details went a long way.Ive never seen a breakfast buffet so well and constantly attended to- significantly better than major hotel chains Ive stayed at.The king room we stayed in had a microwave, large mini fridge, and coffee maker.Beds are VERY comfortable- i want one for my house!A heartfelt thank you to the managers running this inn.
Our 5-day stay in the Rodeway Inn in Ithaca, NY greatly exceeded our expectations. Its cleanliness was impeccable, the beds were even more comfortable than our own (and we have expensive high-quality mattresses), and we felt very safe and secure. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast area was clean, pleasant and the food was good. We usually travel to the Ithaca, NY area at least once a year and our hotel experience with this Rodeway Inn was, by far, one of the most enjoyable experiences that we had.
Ive stayed here 9ften over the past year and always look forward to my stay. This time was a little different, though. The room was still very clean, spacious, and comfortable (which is actually the important part). The service both check in and at breakfast was less than their usual standards, though. Im hoping it was merely a temporary staffing issue and not a general trend.
This hotel is conveniently located about two minutes outside of downtown Ithaca. Its recently been updated, and the rooms are superb- very big, very new, very clean, very chic. Loved it. The breakfast was also fantastic- beyond what youd normally expect for an included breakfast. Finally, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They made us feel at home and took the time to chat with us. Id go back simply for the fact that they were so hospitable! Overall: top-notch quality for affordable price.
The room was clean, the bed and pillows and sheets comfortable, the AC worked nicely, and the shower had great water pressure. The front desk staff were great too, friendly and accommodating. We came with our dog who seemed ok in the room and there was a nice outside area for him to do his business. Glad we stayed here. Affordable and comfortable.
The room was great for the price. Very clean and spacious. We had everything we needed, like a small fridge and microwave. The customer service was great and the breakfast was good; all the food seemed fresh and the employee in charge of bringing out new food was very attentive.
The bed was comfortable and the room was clean, but there was black mold on the ceiling. I brought this up as I checked out and the management told me that it was aware of the issue and had not yet been able to fix it, but that it would be fixed soon. Aside from the mold, the room itself was nice and it was reasonably priced. The hotel is also close to Buttermilk Falls and other gorges, which was very convenient.
We were pleasantly surprised when we pulled up to the hotel. The staff was polite and friendly and the room was very clean. We were only there for one night so I cannot comment on the food but the coffee was good. The hair dryer in our room did not work so we went to the front desk to notify them and they provided another one for us and said they will get that one replaced immediately. We will definitely stay again.
Needed a hotel for my cousins wedding as well as celebrating our anniversary. We stumbled upon this one which was very affordable compared to other hotels who cared similar room items (mini fridge/microwave/wifi). Our stay was wonderful and we had no issue. Every one was pleasant and our room was clean and everything worked fine.
I wasn’t sure about this place initially. I read mixed reviews on it and pulling up I was nervous.Upon my arrival at the hotel, I was greeted as soon as I pulled up in my car, ironically because the front desk person must have just arrived too. Once I was inside and checking in the gentleman who helped me (I can’t remember his name) was very kind and welcoming. He reassured me that I was going to enjoy my stay and advised me of all the perks of the hotel, including the free breakfast. He made the check in process flawless and I felt welcomed.Once I got to my room, I was extremely pleased. It was clean, smelt good and was very spacious. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was pretty.Over all, whenever I come into Ithaca for work with the ambulance service down the road , I will be staying here.
I have mixed feeling regarding stay at the hotel. When we arrived, the outside of the hotel looked old, unnatended, with falling pannels. My wife and I were close to leaving without even entering the place. However, we decided to go into the lobby and look around. The lobby, including the breakfast area was renewed and immaculate, the front desk clerk was helpfull, friendly and professional (all the front desk clerks during our stay were the same way). Once we were refered to our room, we were send to a second floor that from the outside you could see misplaced pannels and paint lacking finishings. However, once in the room, despite the furniture was relatively old, everything was well maintained and in great shape. The beds mattress was firm and comfortable, bedding was clean and well presented, room was ample. The bathroom had brand new toilet and shower space, fittings, and was immaculate clean. The cleaning service was phenomenal, each day we had a completely renewed room. Breakfast was superb with great quality coffee, fresh 100% juices, cereals, bagels and omelet. The breakfast area super clean and well maintained. Despite the outside appearance (that for us is very important), the rest of the experience was excelent. With little modifications and investment, you will have the opportunity to transform this facility from a C to an A facility. Your personnel at the hotel, with its kind, friendly and professional service is by far the jewel of the crown!!!
We have always stayed here when visiting our son at college. The owners have been great with prices and accommodating our arrival times. Now we are excited to stay in the new rooms as well. I got a chance to stay in one of the few rooms that were open at the end of August and I loved it. Fridge, TV, hairdryer, everything was new and good quality. VERY spacious, great bed, nice bathroom touches. I like the added hallway outside the room to keep the chill out in the winter! We like the fact that we can do Ithaca all day then be just slightly outside the hub bub to sleep at night. We plan on bringing the family up for a hockey game later this fall and even asking about far future reservations for graduation.
I recently spent four nights with a friend visiting Cornell and the surrounding area, and we enjoyed our stay at this Rodeway Inn. It is clean, the staff are friendly and accommodating, and the price includes a hot breakfast self-service offering waffles, bagels, cereal, and tasty cheese omelettes. We appreciated the helpfulness of the staff--both the management, a family who are proud of their recently rebuilt hotel and dedicated to providing a quality lodging experience, and the cleaning staff, also pleasant and helpful. We liked our respective rooms and would definitely recommend the hotel to other travelers.
I personally think this is the best hotel in Ithaca for its price. Breakfast is awesome, beds are super comfortable, bathrooms are clean, people who own it are extremely kind and pleasant to talk with. In the two times I’ve stayed here, I’ve always felt safe leaving my car parked outside and sleeping in my room. Rooms are heated nicely. I never got cold at night. TVs have plenty of channels. All in all, I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel! If you come to Ithaca stay here!
Dont let the exterior appearance of the hotel scare you away. They have focused their renovations efforts on the interior of the rooms, which were nicely renovated and comfortable, including nice new temperature control units. The breakfast was fine, with a reasonable selection. However the seating was a little limited in the breakfast area. For the price, I would definitely stay here again.
I typically stay at higher end hotels, but on a locally busy weekend stayed here for the first time (this was my second stay). The rooms were what i expected from a much pricier hotel, the service was exceptional, and the free breakfast was great for a quick bite with options to satisfy my wife, myself and two teens. Coming back into the area for the night it was a no-brainer to stay again and Im sure Ill be back as Im through the area a few times a year. Its minutes away from downtown restaurants, the colleges, and the gorges. And if you can make it to the farmers market your short stay or longer stay will be a pleasant time and this is a great place to rest and relax amongst it all.
We stayed September 5th and found the hotel to be very nice. The rooms appear to be recently updated, were clean and comfortable. The staff could not have been nicer ! We like the location, away from the busy part of town and near 2 state parks. Will be recommending to others, and if ever in Ithaca again would definitely stay there.
Excellent experience. We paid about $70 and it was comparable to many hotels Ive paid $100 or more for. Seems recently renovated and everything was very clean. The king size bed was firm enough to sleep well. Breakfast was hot and filling. Service at the desk was polite. Even the water in the tap was tasteless and way better than my water even at home. Great value and I would return.
Very impressed! Looking for an inexpensive but nice place to stay for a few days while touring Ithaca College with my daughter. Lobby & rooms were very clean, modern & updated. The free breakfast was better than expected: including wafflle maker, omelettes, bacon, bagels, coffee & juice. Plenty of parking, & I also liked that the rooms are accessed through a key-entry corridor, not directly from the outside which is a great security feature. 2 minutes down the road from main shopping plazas/restaurants & The Commons (Downtown Ithaca). Only 2.2 miles from Ithaca College, & Cornell is just a few minutes drive as well. No complaints & Id most definitely stay here again. For the price it cant be beat!
The Rodeway Inn in Ithaca was an excellent experience. The room was basically soundproof, which is rare. The room was spotless clean. Shower was fantastic. Spoke with the owner at checkout who was extremely professional and nice. He also suggested an alternative route that was very Scenic for us to take on our way home back to Southeastern Pennsylvania. Absolutely the nicest stay weve had in 20 years of visiting the Finger Lake Region. I cannot think of anything to criticize negatively at all. We visit that region yearly and in the future will be staying at the Rodeway Inn in Ithaca. Thank you
This hotel has recently been rebuilt from grounds-up. Everything is well maintained, clean and functioning properly. The rooms are decent size, carpet is clean, bathroom is clean and the plumbing is good. Even the WiFi speed was good. The hotel serves hot continental breakfast, which is reasonably good. The staff is friendly and very helpful.
Really liked the hotel, peaceful location with awesome views of the hill. Neat and clean recently renovated. Shrikant was really helpful. More importantly one of only hotels which allows pet.Tip: Instead of booking thru booking websites call the hotel directly, as it’s run by the owners you will get much better discount and you will find them in the reception.
Good budget conscious alternative in Ithaca, which has become a pricey place to stay. No frills but the rooms look like theyve recently undergone renovations so they look good and are pretty roomy. And theres a decent complimentary breakfast. The times Ive stayed the staff have been very pleasant.
Very clean room and bathroom. Staff was very friendly. The thermostat temperature was set at 78 degree, yet we were feeling cold. So the staff gave us a portable heater too. They ensured we were comfortable throughout our stay. They also allowed us for us a late checkout. Breakfast was ok. Overall this was a comfortable stay and definitely worth the price.
All of the staff treated us great and were very friendly. Me and my girlfriend stayed there for a few nights this past weekend. And they even gave us a later check out time when we asked. The room was nicer than we expected and would definitely recommend everyone to stay there if in the area!
The hotel was actively being renovated when we stayed. I called 4 days before we stayed there, and was told that renovation was complete. The room was extremely noisy with the work going on... even very early on a Saturday morning. There was no breakfast because the office was torn apart. No warm water in the shower. The hotel looks like it will be nice when the work is done. But I wouldnt even consider staying here until 2018 at the earliest. But even then, the management lied to get my reservation and refused to take responsibility for it.
Spent 4 days & 3 nights here touring Ithaca College from out of state. Clean, comfortable, modern updated rooms. Quiet atmosphere, mostly families & tourists. Very secure - additional keyed-entry access corridor to rooms. Felt very safe here travelling alone with my daughter. Above average free breakfast, very friendly & helpful staff. Ample parking right outside your room. Minutes from shopping, restaurants & attractions. Not one negative thing to say. Pretty sure this is family owned & operated and it shows. I would absolutely stay here again.
Hotel was single story so all rooms were easily accessible. Rooms were quiet and clean. The staff was very friendly. During late afternoon, it took a couple of minutes to get out of the driveway (heading towards Ithaca town) since the road leading to the hotel can get busy and one has to turn left out of the driveway. Good eating places right down the street.
I stayed here 1/12/18 and this property was awesome. The rooms were very clean and had all the conveniences you could ask for, including free wifi. The breakfast was very good and the front desk and breakfast area was very clean. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating in every way! I will be staying here every time that I stay in the Ithaca area.
Really excellent motel. Out of the busy center of Ithaca near Buttermilk Falls... Total make over was well done. Nicely decorated rooms. ALL new furnishings and amenities. I am particularly happy that the sheet smell SO fresh and clean. the staff is SUPER nice. Its my new GO-to place in Ithaca
Overall I was very happy with this hotel. The upgrades have made quite a difference in the Rodeway Inn. My only complaint was the air conditioning didn’t work all that great. I have a medical condition which requires lower temperatures and I couldn’t get the air conditioning low enough. I was very uncomfortable in the room with the temperature. One thing I did notice is the beds are really high. Would be difficult for a short person to get up on the bed. With that being said the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was typical with omelets bacon and ham and the regular bagels and waffles.
I had to visit Ithaca to attend a funeral and was looking online for a hotel. The first hotel that came up in the search was the Rodeway Inn. At first I went past it to the other chain hotels in the area. I was surprised at how expensive the hotels were. I then looked again at Rodeway Inn and thought that for the price of the room it really cant be that good. Then I started reading all the great reviews and decided that i would give it a try. I am very happy to say that the hotel was just great. The room was super clean, the shower was great and the bed very comfortable. The room was just as good as any other of the big named hotels in the area. I later found out that i paid $100 less for my room! And as a plus the breakfast was also just as good as any of the other fancier places. If youre going to Ithaca stay at the Rodeway Inn. You wont be disappointed!!
This is a hidden gem! Right on a main road, but set back and quiet. Right next to 2 state parks, but also within 5 minutes of many stores and restaurants. The owners are wonderful, and have gone out of their way to accommodate our special needs. Its newly renovated and feels like a much more expensive hotel. The mattresses and pillows are so comfortable. If we ever come back to Ithaca, we will absolutely stay here again!
The room was clean, comfortable, quiet and pleasant. I am rather low tech and had a couple of issues, as previously explained. My questions were attended to cheerfully and well.I was in town due to the death of a young nephew. I dont know if the staff knew that, but when my sister came to visit, we were welcomed to visit in the breakfast room; (breakfast hours were over at that time.) We needed that, and deeply appreciated it.
This is the best motel/hotel Ive ever stayed at. I am a thrifty traveler. I dont need anything fancy. I just need quiet because Im a light sleeper and I obviously dont want the room to be gross. I was astounded at how nice the room was. And the staff was the most helpful Id ever encountered. He put me in a very nice room, but I was concerned about noise because it was all the way at the end of the corridor where I knew Id hear people coming in and out of the main door all hours of the night. I went back to the lobby and expressed this concern, and the man told me that he would put me in one of the upstairs rooms that they only rent out when theyre sold out. He said it would be super quiet and I wouldnt hear a thing, and he was right. And the room was even bigger than the original, but just as nice. If I ever come back to Ithaca, I will automatically book this motel without even considering anyplace else!
We enjoyed a nice two nights stay here at the Ithaca Rodeway Inn & Suites. Very Good Free breakfast provided each morning, and the place was clean and well kept. Front Desk staff and housekeepers were very friendly and helpful. The price for a night’s stay is reasonable for the Ithaca area. We would recommend this location for others to stay and have a good night’s sleep. Thanks, we will be back again!
I traveled to Ithaca , and I stayed at Rodeway Inn . I was enjoy to stay here. The room which I got , was clean and fresh. I had a big bed , and it was very comfortable . Also, the room has new TV, new furniture, and white towels, very clean. Also, I liked design of the room, it’s nice green accent wall. The breakfast had a good selection , and everything was fresh and tasty. It is very good place to stay. I am satisfy.
A cozy little place at a really good price and in a good location - a short drive from everything Ithaca has to offer, but just far away enough to be in a quiet part of town. The staff were great, the room was clean and comfortable, and in general the place came in clutch when I needed a quick and affordable place to stay.
We were looking for a “dog friendly” place to stay near Ithaca. Decided to give this business a try, fully expecting “dog friendly” to not necessarily equal “people friendly”...... but WOW!, were we WRONG! Kudos to the owners for the fantastic remodeling job they have done! Place was clean, very nicely remodeled and extremely affordable for a hotel so close to Ithaca. I would stay here again with or without a pet! Also impressed that owners questioned / interviewed us about our pet BEFORE booking our reservation. They respectfully made it very clear that they were open to accepting well-behaved pets and pet owners BUT very much respected the wishes/concerns of their non-pet-owning guests. The only thing keeping this from a 5/5 was the outside cleanup needed from renovations..... but no reason to doubt that this will occur once the weather breaks!
Excellent service and room! Recently renovated, I think, so it was spotlessly clean. My bed was firm and I had plenty of big fluffy pillows. I appreciated the closed in hallway outside of the rooms that gave an extra level of security. Most motels allow access directly outside. But the theyve added a hallway, accessible with a room key card. The location was perfect, close to Robert Treman Park and Buttermilk Falls. We were given free maps at the front desk and the clerk /owner (?) was very helpful in suggesting places to visit.
This hotel is beautiful!!! Updated furnishings in room, clean, nice beds. Great Continental Breakfast. Easy acces to all the Falls in the area. Very noisy hallways. You can hear everything in the hallway. If you have other people staying there that are inconsiderate of the noise they make out there beware!!!
Very clean, well maintained, well organized. Stuff very polite, helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms sparkling clean, bedding fresh and smell nice, matres comfortable, pillows firm and extremely comfy,no dust,no mess, bathtub and toilet shiny. Everything looks fresh and new. During covid time they still serving breakfast-cofee,juice, yogurt, omelet, ham, cheese, bagels, muffins, fruits, waffles .Wery convenient location, close to everything. We will be happy to stay here again.
Hotel is nice, rooms are clean and modern. Heating/AC work unlike so many budget places. Front desk, service, wifi, everything is good but the breakfast is the only thing I would gripe about - no fruits, and coffee was terrible. Otherwise A-OK, quite close from the city, and a great stay overall.
Not downtown, but a great location, close to Robert Treman State Park and Buttermilk Falls. Cornell and Ithaca College 10 to 15 mins drive away with traffic. The room was modern with a nice TV, pillowtop beds, and good internet access. Breakfast was included but just your basic lobby buffet breakfast. No complaints as the value was great.
We were there for NYS Track Meet. The hotel has such potential. Really needs to be refreshed. All Bedding wasnt in room for the pull out couch so I had to go get one. When I got back and unfolded it there was a giant hole in it. Those foam blankets really need to be banned from hotels they are gross. My room had a very bad oder to it. Smelled really bad. Lots of wear and tear on the walls. Dirty looking and just didnt look clean. Bathroom looked like someone tried to break into the door and all the molding was damaged. Very disappointed in the breakfast that was offered. I was traveling with teens and that is why I pick hotels that offer breakfasts. Ended up having to leave and go find something. We were in a time crunch so that wasnt good. There really was not anything good worth eating at all. Coffee was horrible. Lobby where breakfast is very small. But the staff was very friendly and helpful.
We were not informed when making a reservation at this motel that it was undergoing extensive renovation. We did not find that out until the day before we arrived. Although the staff was excellent and doing their level best to deal with a terrible situation, the motel itself should not even have been open. The amenities that we paid for were not available, the rooms were half-done at best, and the general atmosphere of the motel was like staying in a construction zone - which is exactly what you are doing. This place might be great when the renovations are completed, but until then - just STAY AWAY!
What a great deal this was, other hotels in the area were twice the cost of this little gem. Newly remodeled, very clean and the staff was very accommodating. No bells and whistles, just a basic hotel room, but the beds were comfortable, the decor was new, and again, the staff was excellent. Cant beat the value of this hotel in an otherwise overpriced college town.
A perfect place for what we wanted to do. Situated right between Buttermilk Falls and Robert H. Treman State Parks. The owners and staff were very kind, helpful and accomodating. Breakfast was hot and good. Rooms and hotel grounds were very clean and neat. We will hopefully come again.
Hotel Staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The room was pretty dark and dingy and could really use updating. The carpet was NOT clean. The bedding was clean, but the bedspread has GOT TO GO. (Doesnt anyone in the hotel industry watch the TV Series Hotel Impossible?) Its time to do away with the bedspreads - they are disgusting! Invest in duvet covers that get WASHED EVERY TIME - THE SAME AS THE SHEETS. Your customers will thank you.The bathroom was pleasant and clean, but the shower pressure was awful. With a pedestal sink, there is not much room to put toiletries. Need more shelving. Nice to have a fridge and microwave in the room. The heating/cooling unit was a bit noisy.
Loved, loved, loved staying here! The queen suites were very spacious, the beds were amazing, and the rooms were very clean. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and prompt in meeting all our requests. The location was convenient to shopping, restaurants, and downtown. We would definitely stay here again!
I have no idea why this is listed as a 2 star hotel. Great staff, Great customer service, recently remodeled, very clean, great breakfast. The king bed is very comfortable. The quietest air conditioning unit ever. Would definitely stay there again. Great job to you and your staff!
Family run operation. You know where they live in the back of the property. Nice clean and good rate close enough to colleges waterfalls etc. Indian family who are more American than some native born folks. Hard working all hands on deck style operation. They are making the American dream happen one day at a time. Breakfast was good rooms were big. Wishing this family and hotel the very best.
Hotel clean, comfortable, well managed...Front desk very accommodating, friendly, and professional...apparently newly refurbished...great hot water, towels, comfy bed, good breakfast....conveniently located to area attractions, just on the outskirts of city...perfect for weekend getaway....will return.
Excellent. The rooms have been updated. The beds are high, makes it tough to get on them. They are very comfortable though. I would suggest bringing a fan since the A/C unit is near the bathroom. Large screen TV, WiFi, refrigerator and microwave. Breakfast is free as well.Great location, close to many attractions.
I booked this hotel because of price and location. We were in NY for a family wedding. The outside looks like your typical motor inn, but our room was upgraded to two queen beds and the room was clean and comfortable. It appears they are revamping things. The windows looked new and the bath/shower was new. Tile floor. Beds were very comfortable. Did not utilize the continental breakfast, but it appeared to have sufficient items. It served our purpose without any issues.
Much to my surprise, this hotel was under construction/renovation. While my reserved room was completed and beautiful, there was a slight dust everywhere from the construction, though. No main lobby - instead, the hotel manager met me in the parking lot. Unfortunately, there was no WiFi available. And, sadly, there was no complimentary breakfast available, so my daughter and I had to go out for breakfast elsewhere. It would be nice if I was notified of this construction/renovation, so that I could be better prepared for this.
Had an amazing stay at the Rodeway inn in Ithaca Ny! We went down on vacation from Maine so we were about 12 hours away from home! We stayed Monday-Friday We left so early Friday to come back home I ended up just leaving the key cards on the desk in our room and calling to let them know around 8am we had left, and they were amazing about it and made sure I had enjoyed my stay! I’ve stayed at big chain hotels where you pay 300 dollars a night and there beds aren’t as clean as the stay at rhodeway! We were on a romantic vacation so we put up the do not disturb sign on Monday when we checked in and the only day we had it off was wed when we left for the day, and we never had any problems with privacy! We will be coming back to Ithaca within the next few months and we will definitely be coming back to Rodeway!!
Place has potential. Ithaca hotels will always be busy thanks to the Cornell University. Cute renovation, good bed. They honored do not disturb sign and later checkout request, since Im not a morning person. If they figure out the soundproofing between the hallway and rooms place is good for under hundred dollars a night.
My best friend and I stayed at the Rodeway Inn on Elmira Rd from the 13th of September to the 16th. Our room was clean, modern furniture, the beds were extremely comfortable. The hallways are seemingly clean, you can tell they clean their facilities everyday. The breakfast was good (you can make ur own Belgium waffle, have cereal, bagel with cream cheese etc etc. Nice parking lot with plenty of parking space
This hotel is a good choice for the money. We stayed in a suite which was a very nice size and had all amenities we needed. The room did have a menthol cream medicine smell but it wasnt something we couldnt live with. The breakfast is a small continental, good if you like carbs. I would recommend this hotel if youre looking for a hotel on the cheaper side with clean rooms.
Having just been renovated, this little hotel went from out of date to lets stay up late. The new rooms are comfortable and clean and make you want to sleep in every morning and go to bed late every night. Its a great experience and in an easy to find locations. Couldnt be more satisfied. If they had a tea option for me in the morning, this would have been the perfect stay!
Location is convenient for staying in Ithaca to visit nearby colleges, wineries, or whatever you need to do around the area. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Fast WiFi too. A basic breakfast is included. No pool or other upscale amenities so if you need that look elsewhere. But for a clean, reasonably priced room in Ithaca this is a good place to consider.
This hotel is one of the cheapest in Ithaca. It is very clean, well kept. The bed is good: firm, good sheets. The only problem is the heating system. It is part of the air conditioner and there is no central heat. The unit is in the bedroom and there is no heat in the bathroom. That means thAt it is very cold in the bathroom. I stayed there in the winter and it was way too cold in the bathroom to shower comfortably. Other than that this motel was fine, very good considering it is one of the cheapest on town. Be aware, though, that it is a couple of miles out of town.
Rodeway offered great prices for a pleasant stay. I took a trip up to Ithaca to visit some of the nearby state parks, and Rodeway had the best prices. My room was modern and clean, with a comfortable, King-sized bed and a large tub/shower. The continental breakfast was also surprisingly good. All the staff I interacted with were kind and helpful. It is close enough to the city where it only takes a few minutes to reach by car, but far enough away to offer a quiet stay. Robert Treman State Park is only five minutes away, too! Overall, Rodeway was a great place to stay at a low price.
Was more than adequate for my stay. Was only there for one night arriving after dinner. Was able to check email & accomplish work tasks. Appreciated having coffee ready. Check in was very easy. Reservations were made online prior to my stay & that was relatively easy as well.
There was no problem with our late arrival since we had a reservation. We had stayed there before and were pleased to see that the person at the desk recognised us. The overall experience was good; we were only 2.4 miles from Ithaca College where our grandchildren were participating in a summer Suzuki music program. We recomended this motel to several families that were not happy with their location. We hope to be there next summer to enjoy our grandchildren making beautiful music.
It is in a very convenient location for touring colleges and going to other tourist locations. The room I stayed in is very large and comfortable, with two large beds, a sofa bed, a television, a refrigerator, a microwave, a fully functioning bathroom, a small eating area, a nice porch, and good lighting and air conditioning. The service was excellent, with staff bringing us any necessities on the spot, and the breakfast served was exceptional. Overall it has been a great experience so far and I hope for that to continue.
Old school single story motel. Back right up to the door which is nice for unloading and loading. Dont let the location or outward appearance scare you off. Professional, friendly, efficient manager. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Large room size. Didnt partake of breakfast so nothing to comment on there. Very short distance into Ithaca for shopping, eating, etc. Would stay again.
Some things are still in the renovation stage, but overall I was very pleased with this hotel. I was able to save some money and still have an excellent stay with a great breakfast. The State Park right down the road was an added bonus, and just a few minutes from shops and food.
I had to travel to Ithaca, NY to attend a funeral and in my search for hotels I came across the Rodeway Inn. At first i ignored it because I thought it may not be such a good place to stay. After seeing the crazy prices of the other nicer hotels in Ithaca I decided to check out Rodeway Inn. I saw all the positive reviews and decided I would give it a try. So I payed half the price of friends that were staying in the other places but the hotel ended up exceeding my expectations. This hotel was new, clean, quiet, comfortable and the staff were very nice!! I couldnt have been happier!
During Cornell Graduation season, it is extremely to find a hotel room which is under $400/day, but Rodeway Inn is. The hotel room is reasonably clean, and roomy. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and responsive for our needs. The hotel also provide continental breakfast, which may be above the quality of average continental breakfast. Overall, it meets our expectation, especially during the graduation season.
My two family members and I really enjoyed our stay at your Rodeway Inn during part of my graduation celebration several days ago. We liked the hot breakfast, and the various other foods offered. The staff members were very gracious, attentive and helpful. We look forward to returning sometime.
The hotel is clean and reasonably comfortable, but has gotten quite shabby in appearance. Rooms need to refreshed and modernized. In general, it was well below other Choice Hotels I have stayed in the past 60 days.Breakfast was mediocre in selection.Room rates were jacked up for the race at Watkins Glen. This would have been a bargain at $40 or $50 per night, but a poor value for what I was charged.
Come for Ithaca, Stay at the Rodeway!Came on a Friday night where most hotels in Ithaca were already booked. I found the Rodeway inn on google and called them up to see if they had any rooms. The receptionist delightfully said yes and offered me one of their rooms at a fair price. Since the hotel was on the outskirts of Ithaca, I wasnt quite sure as to what I should expect. However, I was completely taken back by the shear quality of the establishment. Ive stayed at higher quality establishments before (Marriott, Hilton, Holiday inn) but have never slept so peacefully and comfortably as I had here at the Rodeway inn.Spoke with the owner the morning after during breakfast, and they mentioned how the hotel is newly renovated while having no expenses spared to ensure their guests have the best stay possible. We may not be your home, but we certainly try to be your home away from home - Patrick (Rodeway Inn Owner)
My family and I were visiting Cornell University the weekend of April 28th & 29th. We found the hotel to be very clean and very homey, the staff was very professional and courteous. We travel with our dog (who is an emotional support dog) they were so pleasant to us. Some places give us nasty looks regards of the paperwork we supply to them, showing that our pet is registered and licensed. I will definitely stay again at this hotel.
Our experience over 5 days for work at a motorsports event at Watkins Glen has been by far the worst experience at any Choice hotel property.Nothing in the room was clean...the walls, the beds, the floor (dont wear white socks!), the kitchen, the bathroom, all were dirty, in disrepair or needed painting, repair. In reading the reviews prior to our stay, I cannot fathom how anyone could rate this hotel anything other than a disaster. Our standards are simple: Clean. If the room is outdated, its not an issue. Holes in the walls, visible mold on the shower curtain, dirt on the floor, door knobs falling off is not acceptable. The price for the room per night exceeded every other per night price stay this year for much nicer accommodations, making it by far the worst stay for the highest price.
Enjoyed the stay at the Rodeway Inn. Loved the room and the beds. My companion is short so the beds were a little tall for her liking. I enjoyed the rooms a lot. You are near Ithaca Beer Co. but its just outside walking distance (0.5 miles). Go see Buttermilk Falls and Lucifer falls since they are nearby the room. If you pay to park at one state park, you can save a money by going to the other ones in the same day.
Rooms were updated and I was upgraded to a suite. That’s the good news. For the bad, refrigerator temperature could not be adjusted and all my food was frozen. Shampoo was not replaced when used up, breakfast was minimal and the room was so cold you had to wear a coat, which the owners also did, turning left out of the driveway was almost impossible with all the traffic. Will not stay here again.
We have used this hotel several times during the course of my sons college education. We have always been satisfied and on this occasion more than satisfied. It is difficult to find a room in this town at college graduation. We liked our room the best of all our visits to this hotel. We usually bring a pet but this time, we did not and that may have allowed us a better located room.
I cant believe this motel is part of the Choice Hotel group. It is more like the cheap, run-down highway motel, in bad need of a total rework. While there was a new pedestal wash basin, the walls of the bathroom were very dirty. The bathroom door could not be closed. There were rolls of dust on the top edge of the headboard and the side lamps. The carpet was filthy as well. The only blanket was not really a blanket, it barely reached the side edges of the bed, and it was more like fleece by the yard from a fabric store. I was able to connect to the internet but not for long. I had a chance to talk to other customers and they all felt the same way, and will not stay at this motel again.
The Rodeway in Ithaca, New York was a hotel I booked at the last minute - based on a review of the hotel that convinced me and the price I was quoted, which is far less than I usually pay in Ithaca. The room was spacious, spotless, well appointed and quite a surprise. I come to Ithaca often, and will definitely be making it my new place to stay! As a matter of fact I am going back next week and will stay there again!
The hotel/motel is clean and provides you great hospitality. The hotel/motel owner is very helpful and will guide you throughout your stay. The staffs were very helpful. The hotel provides you very clean rooms. Stayed 2 nights in non- smoking room. The cafeteria of hotel/motel was great. When i say was great(i mean it :))Overall experience was awesome.Ill recommend this hotel to everyone. You wont regret, just be there:)
Staff was very helpful and effecient. Rooms were extremely nice, secure, & freshly remodeled. Bathroom area was especially nice. Breakfast is pretty good as well! Wifi is good! Not a bad price either for the area! Close to a couple nice waterfalls & not to far from Walmart & food options. But far enough away to stay quiet
The rooms are clean and the staff and owners are extremely friendly. When we walked into our room and a few things were broken the owners immediately took action to replace or fix the problems. We were in town for a swim meet and they were kind enough to open breakfast an hour earlier so our swimmers could get something to eat before they headed to the pool at Ithaca College. It may not look like much driving by, but the Rodeway Inn is definitely a place I would recommend and stay at again.
We just stayed at the Rodeway Inn & Suites for Ithaca Colleges Graduation weekend, having 5 rooms for our family. Not only were the rooms fabulous and everyone in my family was happy with the clean rooms and comfortable beds, but the owners went out of their way to open up the dining room for breakfast early since Ithaca College had made the graduation earlier given the questionable weather Ithaca was expecting. Additionally, the Rodeway has 2 outdoor gazebos that allowed our party of 13 to get together for cocktails before dinner, and lunch the following day, and they even came out to take a group picture of our family! In a crowded town of Ithaca, the Rodeway is a gem!
Room smelled of an odor (tolerable) and the bathroom was just renovated but needed a painting. place from the outside looked dingy - excellent location for taking in the beauty of many of the local waterfalls - spent little time in the room - hotel needs quite a few updates - decor inside rooms and outside
The hotel has been updated over the last few year and the two brothers that bought ot have done an amazing job fixing it up. When ever I ha e stayed at the Rodeway Inn & Suites Ithaca they have helped me out with any issues I may have had and have aloud us to hang out a little past check out due to scheduling issues. When you walk into the lobby and they say hi and know your name you know you picked the right place to stay. Will continue to stay there as long as we travel to Ithaca!!!
Pleasantly surprised with all the amenities in the room (refrig, microwave, iron and ironing board, hair dryer,, TV, etc.). This seems to be an older property, but everything was very nice. The desk staff was very friendly and attentive. I booked another visit when I will be in the area again in November.
Requested a roll-away bed prior to arrival. Was told to go to my room, dial 0 when I leave, and they will put it in after. The charge would be on my bill at checkout (on my credit card). Therefore, there was no resting prior. Upon entering the room, after the horrible smell of a possible deodorizer trying to cover up barf, pet, and whatever else, we noticed the coffee pot was half full, and had a top layer of mold (white circles) covering it. We then went to put the things from our cooler into the fridge, and it was not cold. We turned up the temperature and looked to make sure it was plugged in. Upon arrival back to the hotel, the fridge was still not working. A new coffee maker was there now. At this point, we just wanted to go to bed and get out as soon as possible. We brought sleeping bags, and used these to sleep on since the entire experience, smell and lack of clean things disgusted us, bothered my allergies and those of my kids, and gave me a migraine. At check out, after 10 minutes, the man had no idea what he was doing, and he left and a woman came out. She told me I still had to pay for the roll-away bed. I explained that the man from yesterday put it on my visa, and he told me my new amount, and that all I had to do was sign upon checkout. After explaining this several times, she called someone on the phone, spoke another language, then said it was taken care of as I explained. She printed me a copy of the bill (at my request), and we left. The price to pay for this Inn & Suites is horrible since this is, at best, a cheap, dirty motel. Ive traveled all through Europe and the UK, and might expect this with different standards. But we are in the USA. And charging much more than a motel. Choice Hotels...you should take this one off of your list. It only give you a bad reputation.
The staff was very friendly, helpful and very willing to answer any questions you had. We really enjoyed our stay and we plan to stay again in the near future. I would recommend this motel to anyone who is just looking for a place to stay any amount of time at a reasonable price.

2022-03-22My wife and I stayed here for 1 night as we went to a concert in town and didnt want to drive home at 11PM and we saw that this place had good reviews. I was frazzled from recon effort to figure out downtown Ithaca to locate the concert venue and parking. The gentleman at the desk of the hotel was very nice and actually calming. He gave us a great rate on our room and told us of many places we could find dinner. Admittedly, for the price our expectations were low despite the good ratings. We were surprised when we found the room spacious, very clean and comfortable. The gentleman at the desk told us there would also be free breakfast. We expected prepackaged muffins and cold cereal. Again expectations blown out of the water by a great breakfast bar with Waffles, eggs, sausage, cereals, bagels, fresh fruit, coffee and juices and probably some things I forgot. We definitely recommend this place to travelers looking for a simple, clean place to stay with a great breakfast.

2022-06-21Nice, comfortable beds and very quiet rooms due to the motel set up with no one above/below you or a hallway like other hotels. Prices reasonable compared to others and great location near buttermilk falls and Ithaca beer. Breakfast was nice in the lobby- waffle maker , cereal, yogurt , shockingly perfect bananas …

2022-04-05Rodeway is a bit out of the way from the bustle of Ithaca, but very convenient to the restaurants and shops on Rt. 13. It is super clean and newly renovated. The owners are friendly and have recognized me on return trips. When Im in Ithaca, I am out and about, my room just needs to be comfortable for rest, and Rodeway is perfect. And its close a new Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts ;)

2022-04-05This was a great hotel. Aside from a single bug the room was very clean and the soaps/shampoos were very nice. A neighbor had a very loud TV and the staff went above and beyond to make sure that it didn’t keep us awake.

2022-03-28The host or hotel owners which I think is family run are very friendly and accommodating. The second time we return the clerk who checked us in the first time we visited even remember us and switched our room to a larger room. The rest of the staff working there are very friendly and warm as well. Always greeting and providing a smile.

2022-06-25When I walked in, I smell the air refresher. Later when I slept on the bed, I smelt smoking. I’m not sure it’s the floor or the blanket. Smoking smell is not acceptable in the non-smoking room for me.Everything else is fine.

2022-03-25We booked a 4 day stay arrived mon. On tues we proceeded to the included breakfast and only selection was sausage, egg pucks, cereal, bagels and u had obtion of making your own waffles which we did but on wend when we went back for breakfast we were told the breakfast was now cook to order because they didnt have any other customers so they went in kitchen and microwave us sausage and eggs gave us a cup of batter for waffles and they had to put my cup of water in microwave for tea because there hot water pot wasnt operating properly. Needless to say we didnt return for breakfast for the remainder of our stay.If we wanted microwave food we would have bought our own and the rooms were very cold when we ask mgr he stated he can come turn up the temp because they hve a temp lock on heater and it can only go so high last but not least the beds were very hard to sleep on to the point we went to walmart and bought a mattress pad to put on bed. If you just looking for a quick night sleep this will fit your needs old saying goes you get what you pay for.

2022-05-16For the price I really liked this Inn. Upon check in the guy was very friendly. At first you think that your room door is outside but for.most rooms there is an extra door that takes u into a hallway then u find your room. I love this added security. For one person the room was very big and spacious. The bed was very comforable. There is a huge refrigerator in the room. Coffee in the room, hair dryer and TV. I counted 8 avilable plugs. Everything I liked except I had a corner room which was fantastic. The bad part was someone parked there car right next to my room wall outside and blasted there car radio. I found this realy annoying. Also sometimes u hear slamming doors from.the hallway.RodeWay has a very nice Gizebo that I loved reading my book to pass the time. I also noticed a outside grill. This gizebo could be used as a family dinner too.The best part of this Inn was there breakfast. Breakfast starts at 7am and I loved having a hot breakfast. Self serve waffles, egg patties, sausages muffins, bananas, ceral, bagals, toast, oatmeal, yogert, milk,oj and apple.juice. There are 9 2 seater tables. This Inn is very close.to Ithaca and other popular attractions and is very afforable. Overrall I really loved this Inn.

2022-05-18Very happy with the room, service, and price. Its reasonably priced, very well priced for what you get. Close to Ithaca College. Allows small dogs for a modest fee.
