Hands down the kindest and most accommodating campground so far. We are a part of thousand trails and there was a mix up at another campground, this campground made sure we had a place to stay short notice. Very clean campground and fun for the kids. Its perfectly located for amazing waterfalls, beautiful view of the Catskill mountains down the road and an awesome deli that had 4 drive thru windows. Also walmart is about 12 minutes away with Many food choices around there.
Gave this campground a second try. The comments about the water and poor electric service are completely accurate. The water stank the entire week and the electric was barely good enough to only run my AC and nothing else. The bathhouse is disgusting. The best part about the place is the people. Other campers were very nice and pleasant. Serious upgrades are needed to the sites as a large majority are dirt. No rocks .. just dirt. Makes for a very dirty camper and equipment when it rains. The money they dumped into the cabins could have easily been spent elsewhere to make the existing areas better. Sad, because it could be a really nice place.
Love the staff. Everyone there is there to have a good time. People are friendly and courteous. If you want a more quiet section you can ask at the desk but we like where everyone is social and says Hi. Corn hole, live music, tons of campfires. Kids riding bikes and people watching out for them whether they are yours or not. Great vibe and get away close to home.
We stayed there 2 weeks ago. The pool is leaking so they were constantly pumping water in it. No activities for our younger children. Only 30 amp service, so beware if you have a newer trailer or RV. Staff is not helpful when asked questions. The bathrooms near pool were clean, the others, not so much. We were told of an issue of a peeping tom, and the lack of visible security made us nervous. Both workers and fellow campers speed along the roads, so watch your children. This was a great campground only a few years ago. Its a shame. We have recently moved to Orange county and this would have been a very convenient getaway for us.
Very busy and loud. There were also not enough 50 amp full hook ups because of the mini cabins theyve installed everywhere. We were there over 4th of July, so grain of salt, but the seasonal campers didnt make this weekend look like an anomaly and the following weekend was just as crazy. If you like late night dance parties on the lawn and drinking parties, this is a good weekend getaway. The pool was crowded (it was in then 90s, so this is expected). But the permanent house area was really nice and much quieter. Not much good for a camper, but if you are looking for something more permanent, this is a good option.
Stayed here as a part of thousand trails. Full 9 day vacation. The best parts were the people. Just super friendly. My children quickly made friends. Lots of activities for kids. Excellent combination of things to do and down time to sit by the pool. They had music and a dance party the two Saturday nights we were there. Everyone gathers in the community area, very social. A little loud if you have a site right next to it. We didnt mind. If you have a site away from the center, it was bad at all. With thousand trails you dont get to choose your site, so first come first serve. People line up super early in the morning to get their choice of site first. We got there later due to traffic, and were put in a site with no sewer. The lady in the office was super nice. We were able to move sites after 2 days to a full hook up right next to the pool. The only down side. The water. It has strong sulfur smell. Really bad. Empty the tank makes you walk away. There was a new bathroom and shower facility at one end that was beautiful. The one near the community center area was very dirty. Laundry facilities were very dirty as well. The washer and dryers themselves were OK, but the sulfur smell will ruin your clothes. Still trying to get the smell out. There are 2 laundry mats within 10 minute drive. We will definitely return. Just a beautiful campground with the nicest people by far of any campground we have stayed at.
The pool Was still closed because it was only the weekend before Memorial Day weekend, but we Loved the creek. The playground was a decent size and could hold a good amount of kids. We found the campsites to be a little too close together and a little hard to navigate way back in the corner. They did not have quiet hours so this may not be the spot to go if your brining little kids and looking for a nice quiet get away. We did not interact with the staff at all to give an assessment. All the fellow campers were all friendly and welcoming.
Stayed here twice. Once in a campsite which was great, even the neighbors were kind, offering their extra firewood when we ran out. The other time in a cabin, which was affordable and really clean, better than most hotels. Overall a great place to stay, especially if youre going to New Paltz for the day.
These ppl are have nothing else better to do than harass others for their flags and make them leave. You should be ashamed to be part of a RV community like this!! I’m sure the police will still come and protect if you need it though bc that’s what they do!! I will never be apart of Thousand Trails!!
AVOID!! Reservations for this place are made online and 45 min off the interstate. They advertise as having pull through sites and we had a 27 C class towing a 12 trailer so we drove the extra distance thinking we had a pull through. We arrived only to learn they have ONE pull through site. The person who checked us in said shed give us a site we should be able to back into since there was room to pull ahead and line it up to back in. The sites are not numbered so we had to ask other campers what their site number was. When we found it we tried more than several times to back in but there was no room to do that with trees in the way and trees on the site. Im sure you know how frustrating that is! We went back up to the office and told the clerk we couldnt stay due to the terrible site situation and the incorrect advertisement of pull throughs and wanted a refund. She took my name and phone number to give to the manager to handle. Ive not heard anything from them and there has been no answer to my emails. The campground map may look nice but it looks more like a refuge camp with dirt roads and unkempt brush. I DO NOT recommend it.Edit: after I left this review and nearly two weeks later, I got a refund. I stand by the less than a one star review.
Of all the Thousand Trails campgrounds we have stayed at, this has been one of our favorite. 2 playgrounds, wood train, a big creek, all kinds of things the kids could enjoy. Our site was fairly level and big enough for our 43 footer. Only complaint is mosquitos but the campground cant help that. Do yourself a favor and stay here.
A nice campground, depending on your site. Doesnt seem as large as it is, which is nice. Mike the Ranger was awesome. Beware the water though, as it tastes bad and make your cream curdle in your coffee. So much to do outside of camp in the surrounding area, youre never at a loss for entertainment. Clean, well maintained, with lots of activities. We will return.
After 10 years of camping here with my large family we will never return. The staff in front was rude from the second we drove up. The water in our cabins smelled so bad that we could not shower or even wash our hands with it. Yes it was THAT bad. Our cabin door didnt lock. But we didnt complain at first because we wanted to make the best of our trip. Then we started getting complaints when the dog barked but they described it as we are having dog fights (lol) Then the sheriff came because we sang happy birthday too loud!? I think the noise complaints are mostly due to the cabins being cramped next to permanents. To make things worse the majority of our very large group came home sick with respiratory infections (including myself), the dogs with diarrhea. Most had to go to urgent care as soon as we got back.!
First of all made reservations for full hook ups 2 months ago when I come in there weren’t any sites with hook ups and wanted to charge $10 for a honey wagon to clean the tank out. Then we left for the day left the airconditioner on for 7 hours or more and my camper was hotter than a sauna. We called a local service thinking it was the camper $150.00 later to find out it was the campground electricity it is not strong even though they claim they fix it. My airconditioner iced up so had to sleep with windows open. If I wanted to sleep in a tent I would have brought one. Got to say the pool is nice and they keep the area clean and have a game room and a little restaurant with the best breakfast. It’s not all bad.
We stayed here for two days and went berry picking at the local farm. Restrooms are very clean, people are very friendly and nobody will bother you. Some of the roads arent finished so it was a bit messy but it did not ruin the experience. We will return another time for sure!
Ive been camping here off and on for about 4 years now. Things have been getting better with the new management, but we still have a long way to go. My major complaint (consistently) has been the really lousy Wifi capacity. Id be understanding and chock it up to what can you expect for free WiFi. Except its not free. I paid $40 for 1 month, it only works in daytime hours. PM your on your own. Update 9/1/21..... Well things were looking up, but the campground has been backsliding. They are no longer really patrolling or enforcing the rules. In particular the one about having your camper in use 8 hours everyday. People are once again bringing their rigs in and dumping them midweek so they can have premium sites locked in. There is also a tattoo shop running out of a tent on someones site, and Im told the campground knows about it and promotes it. I doubt the health department would agree with that one. SMH!🤦🤦🤦
Great staff, great sites, great neighbors... Its a really pleasant camp site, with some beautiful spots along the water. Staff is super helpful and monitor the place day and night. They are always willing to help out and always care how we are doing. There are some really great places to go, fairly nearby. Good stores, restaurants, fast food and some really cool local only places that we want to check out more of next time we stay here.Overall, I cant wait to come back here. Its very cool finding sites that you can add to your list of places you know you will enjoy.
Just spent memorial weekend there and it was very wet. Rained for 3 days but the staff were troopers and did there best to keep the kids busy with inside crafts. The rains parted long enough for an awsome DJ dance party Saturday night that was much needed. The new management is trying to restore camp to its former glory. This place was the absolute place to be in the 90s.Always have a great time here with my wife and 2 kids. Lots of kids activities, fishing ,and plenty of stuff to do. Good restaurants like The Paper Mill and u-pick farms and attractions near by also. Have been coming here for 40 yrs.
I’ve slept in parking lots better than this place that were quieter than this place and they cracked my windshield with their barrier gate, when I told them the vehicle behind me was with me. Then after filing claims and repeated correspondence they refused to pay my claim . A nightmare experience. Never again👎
We decided to glamp in one of their new cabins/ Mobil homes. Our two flat screen tvs had no service. ok well we are camping. Our door would not lock witch for obvious reasons was a problem. A few hours later maintenance came to fix the door. Thank you! After a day of hiking we came back to our glamping experience to have no electricity, no water, cant flush toilet or cook in the kitchen. Glamping for 180.00 a night. Should have stayed at a 5 star.... just saying!
Staff, especially the guy that does maintenance, was super chatty and delightful to talk to. The place is huge and its mostly well kept up. They have plenty of great sites to choose from and they are decent sizes. Some are without shade though. Due to only being there a few days as a stop over we quarantined so were unable to make it to the pool and I cannot review that. But they did have a Christmas in July theme and many activities going on such as movie night in the park.
Very nice and clean. Associates were friendly and helpful. Was told there was a problem with cable, when we were leaving a worker from the cable company was working on our site. We asked if everyones cable was out, he said there was no problem with cable you just need a box. We went 5 days without TV???
I just got here yesterday so I’ll tell you what I know so far. The campground is very pretty in rural New York. It has amenities like a pool and playgrounds for the little ones. It does have cable but it’s not working at the moment. People seem very friendly and there seems to be a lot of long-term residents here. There are some COVID restrictions but I got in without a problem. You pretty much need to make an appointment to use the pool. There is a small store with limited items to purchase. A mask must be worn in the store/registration office. There is cell service but I get only one bar with Verizon. Overall it’s a nice park.
Well, this was a day trip for us and we spent it in the pool. That part of our day was wonderful. The pool was so nice. Now the bathrooms are another issue. They were dirty, people pooping and not flushing when they were done. That was nasty. Another couple were complaining that they had huge mud pool in front of their site for a week and still nobody had done anything about it. To go for a day, fine, but we will not camp there again.
Want to get trashed and party all night? THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. This is a strict 5 mph campground that is filled with families for family fun. Lots of locals come here for the summer and spend time together. Dog friendly and lots of events on the weekends. It has a general store, a laundry room, showers, trails to hike, a swimming pool, basketball court and you can even fish the streams which are filled with trout and crayfish.
Stayed 4 nights for free as part of our Thousand Trails membership. Full hookups. 50amp, water 45 psi, sewer. The 50amp sites are on the main road near the bridge at the entrance so all traffic goes by. We stayed in site 20 through a weekend so it was definitely busy but the hum of our AC basically blocked out any noise (except the bugs at night, theyre loud!)We had a problem with our sewer backing up. We called maintenance the next morning and they came to take a look. They explained how the system has a filter and some elbow pipes going down to the tank so it often looks backed up but isnt. But then later in the day they came back to work on things because it certainly didnt smell right and didnt drain very well. So keep an eye on things when you open your valves!Theres a Walmart not far from here and a couple little towns, but most of the hikes and sightseeing was a bit of a drive.
Im being generous giving a 1 star. One bathroom location didnt have soap in ladies room and another location didnt have soap in mens bathroom. This could be for serious maybe they should be inspected like restaurants do. The bathrooms were very dirty and never cleaned just like soap never filled in 4 days we were there. I saw an employee driving his cart around checking when people checked out and checked bathrooms also. My question is what was he checking in the bathrooms? They were never attended to the entire time. I realize we are in the woods but still should clean bathrooms. we camped for 16 days at 5 different sites and your was hands down the worst. I complained on the review you send out and never received any response. Also pool was being worked on 2 of the days we were there. This was from June 24 to 27. I agree some group of people would get together every night and play loud music and talk very loud passed 11:30 pm.
This was our first time camping here. We were hoping to get a full hook-up site with 50 amp service, but they were already taken. So we selected a water and electric only site in the new section in the back and scheduled a pump out mid stay.We hung out at the pool one afternoon and then checked out the short order grill. Their food is delicious and the service is great.
Things have changed dramatically!! Theyre adding new sites.. They upgraded the bathroom and showers in one building. Great staff, very friendly.. However some downfalls are other campers blasting music and for some reason people are rudely cutting thru other peoples sites and its really getting old...
Mixed reviews on Rondout but our experience has been great. We are on a huge pull through in the rear section with a good amount of privacy. The staff here are superb and one could not ask for friendlier people. If you want TV bring your satellite setup as there are no regular antenna channels or cable. We are staying in a 35 foot Fifth wheel and lots of room to maneuver. Linda who checked us in was wonderful.
Not at all impressed! One of the Thousand Trails franchises hard to get reservations for.... But the spots are basic, no thrills or extras for HUGE money. $199 for a Friday & Saturday night. Could spend less money for two nights in a hotel with an indoor swimming pool.
We have been Thousand Trails members and avid RV campers for about 2 years now and this was by far the worst campground we have ever stayed at. The facility was not very clean and many of the amenities including the pool were out of service. The worst part about this facility was the noise. The campers in the site behind us had their music blaring, were talking/yelling loudly, and slamming car doors etc. from morning to past quiet hours at night. The first night we called management and they did have someone go over to ask the group to quiet down but it wasnt until 11:45 p.m that this particular group actually started settling down. In the morning the group began blaring their music and being disruptive again. We went to the front office to complain about the noise and explain that we had a daughter with Down Syndrome who has sensitive hearing and does not do well with loud noises. While the office staff did apologize nothing was ever done and the noise continued. We witnessed three other campers complain about the noise from this particular group then pack up and leave because management did nothing about this groups disruptive behavior. We even witnessed several Thousand Trails workers stop by to hang out with our noisy neighbors which leads me to believe that this group had some type of relationship with the workers which is why nothing was ever done about their behavior. We believe this location failed to provide reasonable accommodations to my daughter under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Because of the excessive noise level, my daughter had to stay in our RV most of the time and was not able to access the few amenities that were working. This experience has left us not wanting to renew our Thousand Trails membership for the upcoming year. If you enjoy peace and quiet or have a child with sensory issues this is not the place for you. While quiet hours may be between 11 pm and 8 am please be respectful to your neighbors and keep in mind that they may have special needs or simply may not want to hear your favorite radio station. Just because you can do something doesnt mean you should.
We stayed 10 days in our RV in a nice site with partial hookups. Sadly, the bathrooms were unsightly, the showers were closed for repairs, though the signs for same were very old. The pool had a grimy ring around it and appeared unkept. There seemed to be a general lack of upkeep and maintenance.
This Thousand Trails has potential to be an amazing park. The new manager has his work cut out for himself. After a lengthy conversation yesterday I truly believe he and most of the team can make this park to a 5 Star experience. What was not great when we arrived last Saturday:1. The front office person had no clue that our 30’ rv could fit in a wooded area, so she sent us in what they call the field. Which is near the pool and kid friendly area. I’d call it Sardine Alley. So we drive around and saw we’d have no problem fitting in the more spread out area.Definitely train your staff better.2. The bathrooms/showers were not clean no matter what time we visited them. The manager insured me this will be changed ASAP.3. There needs to be security cruising the park up-to and past Quiet time, as many people have no clue how loud they are and playing their music. Some just don’t realize how loud they are and some don’t care.4. As in most 1000 Trails they give all the water front spots to Annuals, so traveling RVers or weekend peeps will never have the opportunity to have a lake, river or creek front spot, no matter what time of year! This is wrong. If 1000 Trails keeps selling memberships to people saying you can camp on rivers etc then they are lying and it’s false advertising.WHAT WE ENJOYED!❤️1. Awesome new manager, who wants an A-1 Park.2. The wooded area is amazingly peaceful.3. The park is clean and the pool and kidzone looks great. The kids and families seemed to enjoy the kid events a lot.4. Two nice trail to go on from the park.5. Most of the staff is friendly and try’s to get answers to questions. We will be back and see how the New Manager Don, is doing on his list of improvementsWe also drove to many small towns and water falls. We loved New Paltz, Kingston, Saugerties and the farms near by too.Best is the Arrowood Farms and Brewery right up the way from the park. It’s enchanting, great beer and awesome place to relax.
This is not the place to start if you want to sleep at night. They dont enforce the quiet time so youll be awake until 3am listening to drunk people yelling and laughing loudly. Even after I complained about it they didnt do anything. This is the loudest campgrounds we have ever stayed at! Its a beautiful place but I was too exhausted to enjoy it.
We visited the campground Easter weekend. The campground was empty and super peaceful. I could only imagine how busy this place must get in peak season. We stayed on site 182 and was able to fish right from our site and hear the creek in the distance. Minnewaska State Park was gorgeous and a short drive from the campground. Kids loved hiking right in the campground, too. Wed love to stay again in the fall.
There is a circular area inside the gate for RVs. This is temporary guest parking for use during check-in. TIP: Pull forward and swing around to the left. We did it backwards and almost got stuck! Desk staff members were kind and helpful. Our back-in electric and water only site was very cramped. Paid $10.00 for 3 days of wifi through Camplink and it was awesome! Showers at closest restroom were out of order so we had to walk quite a long distance. I forgot to make an appointment for honeywagon service, but team member John was kind enough to handle ours after dumping our neighbors tanks. Thanks for the great service John! Restrooms and showers were dirty and unimpressive. Campground has 2 dump stations but 1 was locked and unavailable - ugh! Laundry is reasonable at $2.00 to wash and $1.75 to dry.
The area near the pool is very nice but the area in the back does not have full hook ups and it takes forever to get pumped out and you fill like your in a trailer park. The kids cant ride there bikes after the street lights come and just to many other things that I could complain about but dont feel like wasting any more time.
These reviews of no cable or free WiFi are ridiculous. Your supposed to be camping. Started going here in 1976 when the pool was up by the cabins. My parents became seasonals and got a spot in the field. Not many planned activities but back then kids made there own fun. Came every summer thru 1982. Enjoyed every moment of my summer childhood and have many memories. Yes the seasonals get together at night, usually at one site, a huge crowd, a huge fire and good times. Not drunken times as people are stating. Point is, your supposed to be roughing it, you want luxury rent a motel room. We spent hours catching crawfish from the creeks, skipping stones, riding bikes, playing pinball at the rec center etc. Thanks for the memories
This park is very pretty and seems to be well maintained. The reason for only 4 stars is the office staff was unwilling to help with our circuit breaker always tripping. They wouldnt send maintenance out to check out the breaker or replace it. They told us to use our generator. Other than that, this place is pretty nice
Got there on a Wednesday to get the better choices of spots. They gave us three whole choices....a muddy mess of a spot that had big mud puddles, a spot that faced the back of two other campsites and was fairly small, and a third spot that was right next to the previous one whose only problem was the overwhelming smell of septic waste when the wind was blowing in the right direction. We had seasonal campers all around us who hung out at one campsite all week and sent all their little kids to another unattended camper right next to ours to yell and scream and di whatever with no adult supervision at all. To top it off our neighbors had two dogs that they locked in the camper and then went off to party with the seasonal campers most of the night while the dogs barked continuously all night until the family came home. Ignorant! Will never camp here again. Do not stick weekly campers with the local seasonal campers. We are different. We do not like to hear lawnmowers and blowers running every damn day because the seasonal campers have to maintain their own sites.
Cozy campground. Were here in the beginning of April with the tents. All the space was empty and we got a great spot by the river. Campground, where you can sit around the table by the tent, close to fire ring and river. You also can get light and electricity for decent amount of money. Restrooms and showers are clean. There is hot water even in this cold time of the season.
The first time we stayed for 5 days clean nice site staff was great we continue to upstate N.Y. on our 62 + day camping adventure came back for 3days on our way home We had made our reservations 60 days before (full hook up, 30 amp) we got here they wanted to give us 50 amp sell us a convertor for $25. no sewer (We have 7 kids 4 to13 so sewer is a must at night. We are very disappointed ended up in a field water &electric only. We were told thats all they have on our drive in saw several empty sites.
The rules are a bit kooky, but its a nice park. The river runs through it and its pretty. There is a allot that can be done here to make this an amazing park..has great potential. Needs better wifi and needs cable, but Im camping so who cares. You are close to area attractions such as a cidery that also does Roman pizza. Also there is a great place to pick strawberries down the road.
This place is so amazing with all the wildlife present. My cats cant get enough of all the chipmunks they are so comical. Also this morning my husband found these keys at our campsite on 32 by the picnic table of anyone knows who they belong to Im leaving them at the front desk. It cost to much to replace them so if your missing them call them or stop by to pick them up in the main office.
After arriving at the campground and setting up our site we decided to take a walk around the grounds. We were visiting the campground during a heatwave where temperatures were 90+ for four days, no one at the campgrounds decided to tell us that their pool was not working. The pool had no water in and concrete pulled up in various different spots. It would have been nice if someone had said the pool was under construction when we were reserving the campsites! Also we were sitting outside and had one of their workers come flying in on a zero turn lawn mower and spray dirt and rocks on us while we were sitting outside! There was also a huge patch of poison ivy right behind the site! Unless your a member they are not welcoming, would NOT recommend!
We are Thousand Trails members..we went for four days with five other campers. We were told we would have full hook up not true water and 30 amp which was fine. Four days with no sewer is not very nice when the bathrooms are deplorable. One bathroom was so full of mold the other bath we were up to ankles in water. And had to pay $10 dollars as a member to have tanks pumped per day.. No free cable or Wi-Fi grounds were nice lots of activities but were given a week old schedule on check in and missed out with kids..I think Thousand Trails should check this campground would never go back...Sad when you plan a trip and something as easy as cleanliness puts a damper on things..And staff smile people are trying to make memories..
This campground has really gone down hill. It is rundown, and not very well maintained. During this last visit, there were no public restrooms open. Also, a guy that works there screamed at us to slow down as we passed by, even though we were going the 5mph speed limit. He then came by the site we were at and was very rude, trying to assert his authority when we did nothing wrong. I would not recommend this place.
Do not stay in this park if you enjoy piece and quiet. On Friday and Saturday night they have extremely loud music until after 11 pm. They also have very limited sewer hookups and sites are very muddy in the rain. There is no TV unless you have satellite, if you are not under tree.
I come here every year all season. Im glad they have Amanda wyant running the campgrounds now. Shes done an amazing job with all the changes so far and Im exited to see what else she does. Great job Amanda I absolutely love it. Ive never seen it any better than it has been. You have one great woman running it! My boys hate to leave there once they get there.
My experience camping here was awful. Trash everywhere, dirty bathrooms and overall bad service. Had a bad altercation with security which wasnt necessary considering the circumstances. Ended up confiscating property without even a warning. Was threatened by security and was followed against our will. Not worth your time nor money. Definitely recommend another resort.
Very large campground with pool, snack bar, lots of games and occasional dj. Not well maintained. Dirty bathrooms, big holes in gravel roads. Some sites have sewer but cost is the same whether or not you have sewer, then you have to pay extra for honey wagon. So actually more expensive if no sewer. Fellow campers very good about observing quiet hours and slow speed limit. Half or more if the campground is occupied by seasonals who have tons of stuff (junk) even their own landscaping.
Told a police veteran that thin blue line flags are not allowed to be flown on site was recently the site of a Peeping Tom incident inside their shower/bathroom areas and according to the victim, management at the campground were dismissive of her complaint and took down flyers she put up warning guests to be on the lookout for potential Peeping Toms- not my words
This campground is oriented to RVs and long stays. But you can tent camp here and enjoy it. That good because there are few places to camp in the Roundout and Walkill valleys, apart from the new state campground on other (New Paltz) side of the ridge. The tent sites are near a pleasant brook. Minnewaska and Mohonk trailheads are a short drive away.
Stayed here twice this summer. Absolutely beautiful grounds. Fantastic showers. Unfortunately my only c/o is that you cannot get wifi except at pool or in office. You must pay for it then, which I dont mind, just wish you could get it in you rv. RV sites are spacious, Lots of streams, beautiful lawns and trees. Staff is awesome. I will be back again
It aint what its cracked up to be. The sewer system needs to be pumped out, you cant empty your tanks without it running all over the place. They are down to one dump station and thats not gonna be enough on a busy weekend. There isnt a lot of activitys to keep the kids occupied
I love Rondout because they have a wide variety of sites. (tents, pop-ups, RVs, cabins, and perminent trailer sites) Its great for a weekend, a month, or snowbirds. Plenty of activities, sports equipment, etc. The farm tractor is convienent option for fresh produce on the weekends. But most of all everyone is friendly, the campground is clean, and the rules are well enforced. (Speed limit, respect quiet time after 11pm, etc)
A little confusing when I first got here to check in cause the day i checked in i became a member that morning and was not sure if i still needed a reservation. After that i was still a little confused about the pet policy but they where very helpful to help me understand the policy.

2022-04-30Only thing good about this campground is that it was open mid April. Wanted to get on the road early and was good for that only. Probably should have found a cracker barrel instead. Full of full timers who looked at you like you were invading their backyard. Had no heat in the bathroom so not easy taking a shower. Had some guy with tinted windows who kept driving through with the obligatory thumping stereo. Most likely the campground drug dealer. Real special! Especially after midnight.

2022-05-21Couldnt have had a better stay! Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff (especially Kathy who keeps the store fully stocked with ALL the essentials and then some!!)DEF worth it to stop by the rec center and try some food at JJs snack bar (Jeremy and Jamie are THE nicest people - who serve some pretty darn good breakfast!!). They have a nice selection and variety at a fair price! The park is well maintained, new bouncing area for kids, nice pool and just a great property - would def recommend!

2022-05-31Beautiful park, quiet grounds, staff kept the facilities clean. I do not recommend this park for anyone with kids. The staff will talk to your kids about their behavior but when you are standing in front of them, they will just speak to the kids and not the adults. I found this part of the park very concerning and will be steering clear of this camp ground from now on.

2022-05-26So, I had previously written a positive review for this location. Today we received a vaguely threatening letter from management about an unspecified rules violation that Thousand Trails determined without discussing the issue with us. The fact that rule 13a states: The Preserve Manager and his/her designated staff shall at all times have the authority to interpret and enforce these rules. is interested based on the fact that they are stating that all children 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Have you ever gone to a campground? Teenagers roam the campground and play often. The issue they are siting us for was due to a 13 year old playing with younger children on a bouncy pad in a way the parents approved of. The parents stated the teen was respectful and playing appropriate but, the elderly, untrained attendant disagreed. When management was approached for the issue, rather than taking the concerns of SEVERAL parents who were WITH their children about a busy-body policing the activity of their children WITHOUT talking to the adult, this then became a rules violation and can cause our TT Membership to be suspended or terminated. If this is the way they want to run their business, we would LOVE to have our contract terminated. What happened in this campground is EXACTLY how the devices and toys are to be used and our conversation with management which we though were going to lead to retraining instead blames the customer for the poor behavior of untrained staff. I look forward to talking with TT corporate and were are now forced to avoid this campground and this outrageous management team in the future.

2022-06-21This is a large thousand trails park. Most of the roads are paved and the sites are grass with some being gravel. It is a first come first serve park but they did assign us a site. It was water and electric only. They do have two dump stations near the front of the park that are easy to access. The roads in the park are narrow to the point where it is difficult for a RV and car to pass. Two RVs would be really tough. There is also a single lane small wooden bridge leading into the park that is very tight. The park does have a small snack shack, lots of open grassy areas and several play areas for the kids. Sites are decent depth and width. Water and electric are at the back of the site. Verizon service was really bad but AT&T was good. My overall rating for this park is two sided. We used this park for an overnight stay in a 40ft motorhome. I would not recommend this park for a large rig and definitely not for just an overnight stop. Also, if it has been raining I am not sure a large rig can get in and out of a grass site without getting stuck in the mud. If you have a smaller rig the park is pretty good especially if you have kids. There is a lot of open space for the kids to roam and have fun. However, read the other reviews. People who have stayed here with kids have had some bad experiences.

2022-06-20If you like racist flags, this place is for you!Besides the rampant racism on display, you can also enjoy the constant propositions from the correctional officers living permanently across the street that would like to have my wife scissor your wife! and such. The cabin was nicer than expected, but the water does smell of sulfer and did not get hot.

2022-06-30The campground is great, close to lots of hiking and waterfalls, all within an hour and a half. Just wish the party people would respect the quiet hours of 11pm. Going til 2, 3, or even 4 am is ridiculous.

2022-06-16Beautiful campground! The permanent residents take care of their area so everything looks nice! Love the trails and all the river spots for the dogs to play in the water!

2022-06-17Have you ever wondered why people are such complainers? This is a beautiful park setting with a large number of activities. We’ve found the workers to be kind and helpful, giving us excellent pointers to local hikes and activities. We pay $0 a night at TT parks and we actually read reviews before we bought our membership so we don’t expect a $300 a night rv “resort” for free we expect an average thousand trails park and this one is above average for TT

2022-05-29I and my husband are new to Rondout Valley camp ground as seasonals. Seasonals pay a lot of money to keep there places there yr round the majority of us follow the rules and take very good care of our holiday homes and lots. Those of us that do this r also very upset and the fact that major things r being changed that r not reflected in this yrs contract and things that r in the contract r not being followed. Lawns mowed by park. Lousy no weed whacking done gigantic chunks of grass missed neighbors in back arguing and playing loud music after hrs. I could go on and on but u cannot request tenants pay more money mid season for golf carts that have always been a part of camping and for some a necessity due to illness or injury. If u want to change or increase a price the professional thing is to draw up a new lease/contract and add these thing to the 2023/2024 contract like the charge for seasonals to have guests, the golf carts 35 dollar charge and the cracking down on people who save every dime they have to be there and enjoy. This is a camping resort not a 5 star resort. With all the tragedy in the world with what all the seasonals pay and the fact they cover all electrical for in and out campers. Do the honest upstanding thing all seasonals carry hefty insurance let them be and enjoy the season cause all I’m seeing this season is A LOT of seasonal s very upset with ALL last min changes and more money being expected. This is wrong and illegal. U cannot set a price with a contract and bk round check and just change things without warning it’s wrong and it’s bad business.
