Fabulous dental office. All of their staff is polite and helpful. The dentist and assistant did a really fantastic job on my fillings! Their attention to detail clearly saved me grief. They were also attentive to my comfort with the procedure and explained things before hand and as we went along. The hygienist did a great cleaning and gave me a few pointers. All in all I have been very happy with my experiences at Rose Dental, a wonderful location that even includes a place to sit and wait for your ride, if need be.
Went in for a routine cleaning and exam, was told I have 4 cavities. I’ve never had a cavity in my life, but I figured it was possible. They wanted to charge 600 dollars to fill them though…. But then they started telling me that when I had sealants put in my dentist drilled holes in my teeth for them (my dentist definitely did not). They also told me the tarter had nothing to do with genetics (everywhere else says otherwise). Anyway, I didn’t feel totally comfortable there. I finished school and got a job and got better insurance so I went back to my old dentist to check in and amazing I have no cavities! It was just the grooves in my teeth. Needless to say I’m never going back to a place that was about to drill needless holes in my teeth.
I went to Dr Hageman today for a tooth extraction. I was a nervous wreck! Dr. Was very gentle , explained everything that he was going to do before he did it. Made sure I understood what I should do for the next few days. I never felt a thing. I would recommend him to any body looking for a dentist.
Dr. Erik Hangeman is very caring to all his patients. All patients admired his competence and he goes above and beyond to serve his patients and to explain them whats going on that way patients understand. He is a great dentist
I have been a patient at Rose Dental for many years. The care is excellent and the staff is professional and considerate.
Went to fix broken dental cap, but got cavities filled for $600. Please note that I didnt have any issues with cavities.At the end of the day, still stuck with broken dental cap.One suggestion to the office - Please give preference to what person wants. Feels like they got good business out of me.
I have been going to Rose Dental for several years now. Dr. Hageman is my dentist and he is the greatest. He is very good at explaining all of your options. and making sure you are comfortable during the entire procedure. All of the staff are very friendly.
Rose Dental is a very comfortable environment and the staff are friendly and caring people, from the dentist to the support staff. I suffer a medical condition that could affect my oral health and my dentist Dr. Hagaman volunteered on his own to research the condition! He and the assistant Melinda were friendly, kind and respectful of my concerns regarding my treatment. They treated me as a member of their team in decision making for my care. As someone who has had not so great experiences with dental care, I must say I would recommend every one I know to go to Rose Dental!
I was very nervous about going to the dentist because I hadn’t been in several years. A friend at my job recommended Rose Dental. I was amazed at my first visit with Dr. Hageman. He was very polite and extremely knowledgeable. He took his time and examined & cataloged every tooth in my mouth & it’s condition. I had never had a dentist that did that before. I had been going to another practice before Rose Dental and the dentist there just barely looked at my teeth for under a minute each time after my cleaning & asked me if I had any problems & when I said no, dismissed me saying my teeth looked great, so this was an entirely new experience. Dr. Hageman told me I had 2 cavities that needed filling but recommended a full mouth debridement and a cleaning before since I hadn’t been to the dentist in a while. I was nervous about that but the hygienist, Loraine made the experience comfortable & very pleasant! In fact my teeth felt wonderful afterwards! Today, I finally got my cavities filled. I had put it off because I am a chicken! Dr. Hageman made the experience very comfortable. He put me at ease, took his time & made sure I didn’t feel any pain at all! He told me everything he was doing and even took & showed me a photo of what he found with my cavity! I was worried about how I would feel once the anesthetic wore off, but here I am 6 hours later & I can tell you I feel great! I don’t even feel like I had work done! Dr. Hageman is very professional & thorough and I can say I am very confident in his work. I highly recommend him & the whole staff at Rose Dental.

I prayed to be sent to the right dental office. I was lead to Rose Dental, and I found an office that is filled with personable staff. They are very professional, helpful, and they were able to educate me on my dental routine. Dr. Hageman and Mrs. M, performed some of my procedures done yesterday and they were quick and painless. They are the best Dentist Duo that I ever had. They were able to accommodate me, even thought I gave them a short notice. They were able to fit me into their schedule. Now, Im a new patient to Rose Dental Associate. Im excited to complete my upcoming dental procedures, and dental surgery. Thank you Rose Dental.
I love this place. They really care about my needs. My dentist even asked if there was something he might do during a procedure that would trigger my PTSD....a doctor that cares about my mental health! They are very accommodating and I love going here!
BEWARE!!! UNPROFESSIONAL! FRAUD? STAY AWAY!I resorted going to Rose Dental 15 years ago because they were one of the only dental practices that would accept NYS insurance near my job. In 15 years I have only seen the hygienist. My most recent more invasive procedure in January 2020 was to replace an old deep filling that chipped. Dr. Santoro, tried the traditional way (refilling it)and it only lasted a month. I asked to see another dentist in the practice, as Dr. Santoro’s procedure left my face swollen and bruised for a week. It was unclear to me if Dr. Santoro was up to date with new technology and therefore, Dr. Erik Hageman took over my case. He attempted the same filling procedure, and that too failed. Dr. Hageman then decided to provide an overlay filling. During this time, unfortunately my crown fell out, that was just below the filling which they were attempting to fix. I was told due to the pressures from both teeth clenching together, the crown falling out was most likely a result. They quoted me a price of $1800 for an overlay on the top chipped tooth that needed to be re-filled and a new crown on the bottom which was WITH Rose Dental accepting what my insurance covered. I asked Rose Dental why it was so expensive, and they said I signed off on extra procedures “upgrades”. Run if you hear those words. This is where it gets very unprofessional. Not only did I not sign anything, when I called my insurance, my insurance said in Rose Dental’s invoice there was no extra procedures mentioned and that they fully covered the overlay 100%, and that they covered a metal crown with the porcelain overlay 100%. Therefore the entire procedure was covered by my insurance. I then called back Rose Dental mystified why my estimate for both of those procedures was so much when my insurance covered both procedures. They told me at that practice they do not provide metal fillings with porcelain overlays and only provide full porcelain overlays which my insurance doesn’t cover. So I was stuck getting the full porcelain overlay. My original crown was the metal with the porcelain overlay, and I really just wanted the same crown, and I’ve been told they are actually stronger in some cases. To make a long story short after paying for the crown prior to the procedure, the lab came back and told Dr. Hageman that the metal filling would be stronger and that they should use the metal vs the full porcelain. Only, after long arduous discussions with the office managers, Melinda and Lisa, about how a dental practice can’t balance bill, the office provided me with a refund, and accepted what my insurance covered. Since Rose Dental is an in-network provider for my insurance, they have to accept what my insurance covers, which is what NYS Emblem Dental Insurance told me over the phone. 5 months later in the middle of a pandemic I got a letter from Dr. Hageman releasing me from his practice. I know what is right vs what is wrong, and I’m sorry that they didn’t make the money they they thought they deserved on both procedures. The office manager even said to me, that “Rose Dental” can’t make money on a metal filling. This practice cares more about what they will make versus the health of their patients and what they can afford. The bottom line is that if you’re in network and your dental insurance covers the procedure they can not bill you for the balance, THEY HAVE TO ACCEPT what your insurance covers, and in this case Rose Dental would not until I looked into the matter. I felt taken advantage of to say the least, my insurance provider said thank gosh you called, not many people know their coverage and many practices bank on clients not asking questions. Thank you Rose Dental for doing me a favor, I can no longer trust your practice or your dentists considering Dr. Hagaman was willing to go along with this entire scandal. Shame on you. Don’t you take an oath? “I shall care for my patients, as I would be cared for.” Definitely NOT at Rose Dental, stay away.
I have been going to Rose Dental Associates and have been a patient of Dr. Hageman’s for several years. He is always polite and professional, and when treatment is needed, he explains what needs to be done. He doesn’t perform treatment when it’s not necessary. On the occasions where I have required more work (fillings), the process has really been quick and painless. I’m not sure what sort of wizardry he practices, but I honestly don’t even feel the anesthetic needle entering my gums (typically the most painful part of the procedure). I highly recommend Dr. Hageman for your dental needs.
Very friendly staff and they have great dentist. I have always had dentist phobia growing up and into my adult years until I found this place. I had the best dentist in the world Dr. Peirce unfortunately for me he eventually retired. I was worried but Dr. Hageman pick up right where he left off and he is awesome. If you are in search of a dentist Rose dental is worth the try you won’t be disappointed, they are great.
Dr. Hagaman is amazing!! I was extremely nervous about getting work done when I visited the office. He suggested music which helped alot. When I returned 4 months later, he entered the room with a small speaker and asked if I wanted to listen to my favorite artist (he remembered!). This is the care and attention to detail that is crucial in dentist/patient relationship. I would highly recommend!
Absolutely great people and mood. Doc was great in every way and they were able to get me in last minute for an emergency route canal. I definitely found myself a new dentist 😎😍
As a new patient I was told to show up 15 minutes early for my first appointment. Got there 20 minutes early, checked in and even got my temperature taken. Waited for 45 minutes until I got a phone call asking if I forgot my appointment. Needless to say I walked out. The receptionist Lisa, then called me to tell me it was the new girls fault.
I have been going to Rose Dental for many years Foolishly I left to try a dental practice closer to my home. I have since returned to Rose Dental and I’m so pleased I did. Dr Hageman is a fantastic dentist and has made me sure I made the right decision to come back.
This is the first time Ive had to have major dental work. Dr. Hagaman and all the staff at Rose Dental, made it a pain free, stress free experience! Would recommend them to everyone.
Although there are many dental services nearer to my home, I have returned to Rose Dental despite the longer “commute.” I have always found the staff there very accommodating and I have always been satisfied with the work they have done on my teeth. I am especially pleased with the bonding Dr. Hageman did on my front teeth that has once again brought a smile back onto my face! I highly recommend their services.
I dislike going to the dentist and always have. The sounds of the equipment scares me however oral health is important. I relocated to Albany 2 years ago and had been delaying finding a dentist. I was overdue for my check up and knew I had a cavity. I contacted Rose Dental and the receptionist was lovely. They sent me the paperwork via email to complete ahead of my appointment. On arrival it was clear they were following COVID safety practices. My temperature was taken and seats were distances. I was promptly taken for my appointment and the dental assistant was friendly and gentle in taking my x-rays. Dr. Lakshmi joined us and did my examination. She is soft spoken and was gentle in her assessment. She confirmed that I needed a filling and that eventually I may need a crown because it’s a big filling. I liked that she didn’t jump to crown as some dentist would. She told me she would let me know if/when but it should be fine for now. I returned for my filling and the experience was as pleasant as a dentist appointment could be. I was nervous but Dr. Lakshmi and dental assistant were reassuring and took their time with me. The filling was completed and looks good. I also had my cleaning done by the hygienist Lynn and she was nice and gentle. Overall, this was a wonderful dental experience and I have already recommended them to others.
This is my second time being seen by Dr. Hagerman. I would recommend him to anyone because he is attentive to the needs of his patients, knowledgeable, and has great bedside manner. I am glad my husband recommended this office.
Incompetent and terrible to work with. Went to a new dentist after having gone here previously to find that the dentist at Rose Dental had missed some crucial issues and had failed to take proper x-rays. Dont go here, just keep looking.
Have been going here for a few years. Staff is always incredibly friendly and on time, and has been happy to reschedule on short notice due to my own errors, which is much appreciated.Also, the doctors always ask about updates on personal projects I’m working on, which is cool to know they take an interest in patients they only see every 6 months.
I had a great experience at Rose Dental. Dr. Hageman was professional and knowledgeable. He seems to have a genuine interest in his patients. I especially appreciated the fact that he took the time to explain everything he was doing. One important item to note is that there was potentially additional work he could have done and charged me for but but gave me the option as to whether I wanted it done or not. He explained that it could help but was not necessary so long as I continued to care for my teeth properly. It is not often that I have seen this type of honesty in the dental profession. Highly recommended.

My Kids and wife went here for years. They are crooks!!! always giving flouride to kids at every cleaning without asking even though they know Insurance only covers 1x per 12 month period. Upcharging for fillings because insurance payment wasnt enough $ for them in complete violation of their in-network agreement, and then not offering basic procedures only so they can again up-charge you for the non-covered treatment. Now they are charging each patient $15 for their required PPE. All this when restaurants and other establishments are providing free of charge if you dont have one. If you want to be always on your guard and wondering if you are getting ripped off, by all means go to this practice. If not I suggest a non-factory style office with more class and care about its customers!!!
I have never had any dental or teeth issues. Went in and they said I grind my teeth (im 29 and it was never mentioned by any other dentist ever in my life). Had a couple cavities. One of which I had fixed. Went to another dentist and when they did xrays the cavaties I didnt have fixed right away werent there. Because of the grinding issue the shaped my to front teeth had it repaired 3 times after it broke out and once when tooth broke off of it eating bread. Both have since broken off again and just like the cavity I had to have redone im going to have to get my two front teeth fixed when there was probably nothing wrong with them in the first place. Avoid these novice wannabe dentists like the black plague.Now in 2015 every tooth they touched has failed. Im lucky I have not lost any of the teeth but all their work has had to be redone or repair. I now have sensitivity in several of the teeth they touch because of the enamel they removed for no reason that doesnt come back.ALWAYS question your dentist. NEVER go along with what they say.

Horrible outfit...from the hygienist to the doctor to the billing department...true lack of professionalism, courtesy and competence...would not recommend even for a simple cleaning...if you need a cleaning go over to HVCC...BTW WHAT QUALITY OUTFIT WOULD SEND OUT FLYERS FOR 20% OFF MAJOR PROCEDURES...CLIPPING COUPONS FOR MAJOR DENTAL WORK...WHAT A JOKE!!! THEY EVEN HAD THE NERVE TO TRY TO UP SELL ME ON SOME COSMETIC WORK (NOT NEEDED), WHEN I CAME IN ABOUT AN ABSCESS AND INFECTION...DEFINITELY THE DOLLAR STORE OF DENTISTS IN THE CAPITAL DISTRICT...MY APOLOGIES TO DOLLAR STORE!

2022-02-16I’ve been a patient of Rose Dental for over 10 years now. Everyone is so friendly, consistent staff-always great to see a business with long term employees! They’ve recently gone under new ownership with one of the doctors who has also been there for a few years. They’ve upgraded technology, played GREAT music during my cleaning and it was wonderful seeing so many happy faces! I always recommend everyone to go there!

2022-04-19I just became a new patient of Rose Dental. I could not be more impressed with the service. I have been scared of the dentist for as long as I can remember. However, my experience today made me feel carefree and left me wanting to take better care of my teeth again after a long absence from dental care. Keep up the good work! 2022-06-16Two words: Laser beams. My name is Adam and I hate going to the dentist. I have pain when I hold my mouth open and anxiety at the thought of getting a cavity fixed. I had two which needed attention and I was putting it off because, well, I hate going to the dentist. I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months and even that gives me anxiety. Today I saw Dr. Hagaman (spelling?) and he used a laser beam to remove the decay. It was a breeze and I can’t thank him and his staff enough for making todays visit easy for me. I highly recommend Rose Dental. His bedside manor was also superb. The Novocain has now worn off and I have zero soreness which is amazing to me. Ten stars, two thumbs up, thank you so much!!!!

2022-04-21Love this practice. I was very reluctant of dental professionals after a traumatizing experience a few years back, coupled with severe health anxiety. Dr. Hageman is extremely kind and giving of his time, always willing to have open lines of communication, and incredibly smart with a knack for breaking things down to a very basic level. He always offers me viable solutions and I feel like he legitimately cares about me as a human being and has my best interests at heart, there is always compassion and empathy. His bedside manner is second to none. The same can be said for all the staff in this practice…particularly Amber, Debbie, Michelle, and Lorraine as I’ve had the most frequent interactions with them. I trust these folks implicitly. Also, Dr Hageman is into music for your sessions with him, as this is known to soothe the soul and relieve anxiety - best of all he allows you to choose the playlist! I don’t feel like I’m just going to the dentist, but rather having an awesome dental experience. I know I’m in exceptional hands at Rose Dental

2022-02-08In a search to find a new dentist after moving to the area, I came across Rose Dental. I made an appointment to come in for a cleaning and upon arrival, I was surprised to find that they do not do cleanings on the first visit due to safety concerns was the reason that they cited. Of course not knowing this, and my appointment having been in the afternoon after a full day of work and having eaten lunch earlier in the day, my teeth were examined by Dr. Lakshmi. I should have known that something was off when I was taken to the back, and upon her examination she proceeded to tell me that I had 9 CAVITIES. Again, there was no cleaning done at this point so any plaque or food from during the day was visible on my teeth. Coming from someone who has never had a cavity, it was pretty clear that this was a scam and they were trying to make a pretty penny off of a new and vulnerable patient. Needless to say, I did not return and gladly traveled to my previous dentist who certified that I had 0 cavities. Be careful with this practice, so they dont try to scam you like they tried to do to me.

2021-11-18I can’t say enough about my experience today at rose dental associates. I was nervous getting my first crown but the entire experience couldn’t have been better. I was surprised it was over so quickly. I felt no pain whatsoever - not even any discomfort. Doctor Hageman and his dental hygienist are wonderful. They eased my worry, made the whole experience painless, asked what music I wanted to hear, made some jokes throughout, started on time and the procedure was over before I knew it! I highly recommend this practice, especially Doctor Hageman and his assistant.
