Was looking forward to a good local spot based on reviews. Wait was long. Order was incorrect. Pancakes were greasy and crumbled apart. Maybe the egg dishes are better. At least staff was friendly.

Absolutely delicious food. Had the roast beef sandwich and it was probably the best I’ve ever had. Friendly staff, prompt service. I didn’t even know this place was here and I’ve lived here for 4 years. No other diner in Syracuse even comes close. If I could eat here every day, I would. I don’t usually leave reviews, but I couldn’t believe how good the food was here. 100 stars.
Food was done quickly, and the ingredients were not the lowest they could serve. Sausage was large and higher end then most links. Rye bread had actual swirls, as if from a bakery. The meatlovers omelets was delicious. Nice chunks of ham. I ate here because it was the most keto option I found around. Service was friendly and competent. Wish there was a little more space at the booths but thats due to location. Overall, awesome.
5 stars does not give this place enough acknowledgment. Everyone here is kind, passionate, friendly, and just down right homey. The food was remarkable. Nothing compared. It.was flavorful. Filling. And priced just right. There is something for everyone. I am so thankful we tried this place and I cant wait to come back next week.

This restaurant is a fantastic little piece of Americana! The food is really good and Mary our waitress was very efficient and very friendly. Prices were reasonable and the coffee is fresh.
Our waitress was very cold and made my partner and I feel unwelcome the entire time. She got aggressive when my partner used sign language. When we went to pay, she checked us out and didnt say a word to us. We said please and thank you the entire time, and still tipped, so I can only assume her hostile nature is normal and accepted by her employers or due to our appearance. Either way shouldnt be rewarded.
Hard time finding decent diners in Cuse. Loved this one! Small and cute, quick service, pancakes were big, coffee on point and bacon to a crisp! Will be back :)
Its a diner, next to some train tracks, need I say more? I will. It has very decent coffee and delicious food. Perfect for when you dont want to wait in line at Heids or want something more filling. Easily my favorite local diner.

Wow! Excellent food, plexiglass set up between the seats counter side and the booths. I got the 1/2 Fretta and when it arrived, all I could think was what the hell do they serve the full Fretta on, a platter? The half was huge! It was very good too. Chunks of ham, real sausage, green pepper, mushrooms
Maggies is just perfect in every way. Always amazing food and fantastic service. Whether you have children and go as a family or are talking your significant other on a date, Maggies is perfect for it all. Ive yet to be disappointed ❤

Maggies is such a gem!! Weve been going there off and on for about a year or so. The food is amazing every time, the service is wonderful, and its always such a great experience. :) With the current state of affairs, things are so uncertain, but Maggies has risen to the challenge, and I know that theyll continue to succeed!!
13 of us just had the BEST breakfast! It was super fast, the service was AMAZING and the food....the food is beyond good! We are already discussing our next road trip to have breakfast!
I Got the Giambrotte(I think thats how you spell it). While I read the description and understood that it was spicy, I did not anticipate the level of heat. With that said, it was delicious. Maybe next time I will ask for medium spice level, and work my way up. Home fries were on point, I would just suggest a tad bit of salt while hot on the grill. Other than that, nice little place. Good food.
This little gem is barely noticeable from traffic. If you do notice it, you wouldnt think it a diner. It is very small, but like they say, sometimes good things come in small packages The food was absolutely amazing. The best omelette I have ever had. Stopped in about 12:00pm on a Sunday. Was very busy. Might have been why our waitress seemed to be in a hurry and unpleasant. Would have given 5 stars otherwise. Would highly recommend and will be visiting again in the future!

Unless someone told you, one wouldnt know it was there. If you didnt know it was there, you missed out on one of the tastiest home style meals in central N.Y. Not far from the lake park on Old Liverpool Road, sits Maggies Trackside Diner. It is just large enough to accomodate the 20 or so at a time (many throughout the day) people that come in and out. Most are return customers. Try it once and you to will be a return customer. The Gumbo is good, the Country Fried Steak and the boneless Pork Chops are very good. Good portions and reasonable cost. I would have never known...but I am glad I found out.
I really cant say enough about Maggies....their food is amazing and their staff is friendly. And if youre having a lazy dog day theyve always got great coffee brewing and its hard to get mid cup before they are making rounds and topping off your cup.... try drinking the whole cup I bet you cant..lol. Its always clean and the atmosphere is very comforting.
This is the old American Diner, now under new management, and with a different flavor to it. Same great cooks, same attentive waitresses, but with a railroad decor and theme to it. If youre a local, youll see many of the same faces there. One of the employees bought it out, and its just as good as it was before. Our meals were hot and tasty, as usual. The service was friendly and attentive, as usual. A local favorite. Drop by if youre in the area!
We go to Maggies every time I have to go to a certain doctors appt. They have great breakfasts and you can eat lunch for breakfast if you are so inclined. I had the eggs Benedict with ham slices on English muffins. And extra crispy hash browns! My hubby had the corned beef hash with eggs over medium, he enjoyed it very much, but he had the home fries which were a bit old. Probably boiled a couple of days ago. I get it, waste is hard to deal with it costs for a small business. I believe that Maggie, herself, runs the grill and the two waitresses are always there and a pleasure to deal with. And most importantly the coffee is wonderful!
Wasnt pleased. Very small, all they have is booths or you have to sit at the bar. Paper plates and cups, by the time your done with your food you have a soggy plate. Oh and my omelet had a piece of plastic in it from a straw or something.
Good food, Great place to eat. Good friendly staff, Maggie is a good caring person and very nice to meet. They treat you like family here. I wish i could give it more than 5 stars!

Good service. Nice atmosphere. My food was ok (soggy hashbrowns) but kind of pricey. At most diners my breakfast would have cost around $8. It was $15 here. Quality just didnt match the price.

These people purchased from American Diner and retained most of the staff. They have a new menu but food is excellent and they will gladly cook you anything off the old American Diner menu. A great little place for breakfast or dinner.

This diner is very disappointing. First my husband and I ordered hot roast beef sandwich and it was very tough. We asked the waitress to bring it back. Then ordered hot Turkey and it was cold. I dont think we will go back there. This is the first diner we were disappointed with.

Today was my second day in a row here. Im going to call Maggies a hidden gem in broad daylight. You cant really miss the place, right on the tracks (its not just a clever name) and straight across the street from Heids.Yesterday I had the smashburger, today I had breakfast. Just....so, so good both days. Classic diner food, just hits the spot. My coworker had a daily special, yesterday the stroganoff, today the Shepards pie. From what he said, the looks on his face, and hiw lethargic he was after the meal. Id say the home cooked specials are completely on point. This is now our favorite lunch spot here hands down while her on business.
The food was good..the service was ...ok..it just seemed like the 2 waitresses were struggling to keep up....they did but sparingly...this was the first time going there as Maggies... would I go back ...yes and then Ill see if its the same..or how it goes....but I will give them another try..

Breakfast was more than 1person could eat.Had eggs with hash browns bacon, and toast for $6.95 . Again more food than I could eat, and a never empty coffee cup. Good Paul DeLima coffee.You owe to yourself to try it.

Me my fience and daughter seen this place wanted to try something different and what a mistake that was...we ordered the same thing here that we had over at Julies dinner where it cost us $30 here it was $50 my steak was so over done I could barely cut it...my fiences steak was so under done he couldnt chew it...will never ever be back here..oh and we had to get up to get our own coffee

Very disappointed. Roast beef was not edible. Gravy was lukewarm. The only good thing was they replaced the roast beef with Turkey. That was barely edible and cold.

NOW I ORDERED CHICKEN PARMESON I BROUGHT UT HOME TO MY HUSBAND AND IT WAS WAY OVER FRIED AGAIN AND TASTED WEIRD AND ALSO ASKED THE COOK TO COOK THE NOODLES LONGER THEY DID BUT WERE STILL A LITTLE HARD AND NOODLES SHOULD BE SOFT. SECOND WE WENT GO EAT IT AND THEIR WAS A MOLDY STRAWBERRY IN THE SPAGHETTI SAUCE I ALMOST THREW UP. ALSO TASTING WEIRD. IT SEEMS THEIRS A COOK ISSUE AND A CLENLINESS ISSUE GOING ON AND CROSS CONTAMINATION AND SORRY BUT IF PEOPLE HAVE LONG HAIR THEY SHOULD BE WEARING MORE THAN A HAIR TIE BECAUSE THEIR HAIR IS IN THE FOOD. THIS REVIEW NEEDED BE WRITTEN BECAUSE NOW I WILL NOT BE RETURNING FOR AWHILE BECAUSE I AM GROSSED OUT. YOU CAN GET SICK THAT WAY AND WHY IS IT SO DIRTY NOW ?

2022-04-18Amazing food, service and atmosphere ✨ It was me and my boyfriends first time at Maggie’s and it was absolutely phenomenal. We were welcomed and taken care of from the moment we walked in till we left. Our waitress was fantastic, and we were able to watch the cook from our table. The food was fantastic! The diner itself is small but super cute and they make great with the space they have. We have officially made this our new breakfast spot ❤️

2022-05-15This place is amazing! Energetic, full of life staff! Even on a busy Sunday morning my cup of coffee was never empty. The food was delicious, I ate the biscuit bowl, its was fabulous! Has a serious at home feel, they make you feel so welcomed! Highly recommend Maggies trackside diner! You wont regret it! Portion size will leave you full and satisfied! Pricing was 5 star as well! Thank you all for the awesome experience and great food!

2021-07-08We stopped in today, a couple years since our last stop. It appears to be under new management and the previous decor has been completely eliminated. The current Train/Rail theme is consistent with the name and location next to the RR Tracks. Still primarily a breakfast location, we were there just before the fairly early closing time for lunch and were happily rewarded with a very good, unique, lemon chicken & rice soup, affordable & decent open faced Reuben. The large house salad & grilled chicken was also decent and affordable. Most of the specials were breakfast oriented and sounded as well as looked good. We wont hesitate to stop in for breakfast again, sooner rather than later. It is a small place, booths on 1 wall, with new plastic dividers and old fashioned counter seating are almost entirely the available seating options, with very limited availability of I think 2 taller & smaller pub style tables inside. Weather permitting, a few tables are now also available in the rear of the building, in the parking lot, directly adjacent to the door.

2022-05-15It was just bought and the new owner is amazing!I’m serious if I could give them 10 stars I would! The owner came around made sure we enjoyed our meal, interacts with her customers. Amazing service and even amazing food! You don’t come across that often!It’s our go to diner!I can’t express enough how AMAZING the Apple fritter French toast is, we get it everytime!

2022-04-09This was a weird experience. Maybe I was there on an off day or something but I would absolutely never go back. It was just the weirdest thing . staff that was clearly visible literally from where you sit you can see the whole kitchen. Someone seated us ,gave us coffee and left. I asked for silverware and they said yes. Never brought it. Got up and walked the one step to ask the other person standing one step away and they said yes made eye contact and no one ever brought silverware to even stir the coffee. Then two other tables walk in and they take their orders. I was like well ok... totally get the hint. I get up to leave and the lady says oh I was just about to get to you. 😐. No no she was not. She was watching us literally two feet away by a knee wall partition listening to see when we would leave. It was just the weirdest experience!!!!!!
