My dog was in labor it was an emergency the x ray showed 6 puppies. they closed in a hour and told me they could not stay to deliver them. they proceeded to over inflate the price if they did. Then all this time had her in a cage suffering. I finally used there phone to call Shaker vet which prep for emergency surgery. I had to demand my dog back. They gave me x rays hesitantly and charged me 300.00 for the visit, this was a few years back. now it would be much more. After I left Shaker told me how serious this was, my pomeranian needed a c section she could have died in the 20 minute ride to them. Rotterdam is very expensive and although convient they are horrible and dont care if your pet dies as long as they get their money. They refused to help because they had to go home....after this they banned me from coming into office because they charged me for x rays I wanted back and they wouldnt give them to me after Shaker returned them to them and I disputed the charge. the owner I met during a retail event and she told me of her pet and how coldly she had him put down cause she couldnt be bothered with a sick pet. Owner hates animals no wonder. if you dont care about your pet why would you care about others.
After what happened today, I think this Vet Hospital should no longer be visited. They basically gave my sisters cat back to us dead and didnt care enough to tell us we should rush him to a hospital or notice that he was choking on his vomit. She tried to rush him back to a real hospital has soon as she got home and discovered the horror but unfortunately he passed before she got back into the car. We only live 2 mins and the kitten wasnt even home for a minute. I feel like they wracked up the bill to almost 1k and didnt even do what they said they did. Not like I would know what they did because you cant go in.
My dog had only been going here for about 8 months since I moved to the area. I cant say enough good things about this office. Unfortunately my dog got really sick and I had to put him down. They were absolutely wonderful! I saw 3 different vets during his illness and loved them all. When the time came for euthanasia they handled it so well. They showed us so much compassion and understanding and put my mind at ease that I was making the right decision. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend this office to anyone who appreciates their pet being treated like a member of the family!
I am very impressed with the Staff. Our dog wasboarded here and came down with a harsh cough. When I called to bring him in to be checked they squeezed us in for an examination. I was very impressed how Jim came out to get him and bring us right to a room so other animals would not be opposed to his coughing. Also impressed how we were only charged for the medicine.
Poor care for your pet, they are a veterinarian hospital with no empathy for your pet. This place lacks of customer service, all they care about is the money and will criticize and belittle your pet over the radio the minute you walk away from a room PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS IF YOU TRULY CARE ABOUT YOUR PET.
There’s no other words to explain other then this place is amazing! We dropped my dog off there for a week as we went on vacation and we kept calling to see how he was handling it and they were super nice and caring of taking care of our dog. There not pricey at all and a very cleaned place. Jim took great care of our little man and we Wouldn’t have Alvin go anywhere else. They treated him like family and for that the Palazeke family are very thankful for them!❤️
A local veterinarian hospital with very polite staff. Wait time for regular check up appointments or emergency visits is minimal. Prices are about what vet private practice should be, and they offer a military discount on some services and products. I have been bringing my pet here for years and the staff is very personable with you and your pet. Sometimes is can be difficult to pull into or out of the parking lot because of local traffic.
Brought my cat here because she wasn’t eating, drooling & seemed to be in pain. When I called the receptionist was very accommodating & got us in that afternoon. The Vet that examined her, showed me that she had an ulcer on her tongue, explained how this could happen & treated her & said she would give me a high calorie soft food to try. She was great & very helpful, as she was last year, when I saw her, when my dog was dieingLater in the day, I realized the office didn’t give us the cat food, the Vet spoke about. I called & the receptionist said I could come & pick up a couple of cans.I went back to the office & told the receptionist that I was there to pick up the food. She said that will be $3.00. I said I understood that the Vet was letting me take a can to try. Her exact response was “Uh Yah, No”So I went out to her car, came back & gave her the $3.00! My bill for today was $297.00 & then there was last year prior to my Dog dieing, the $100’s of dollars, & now I’m ready to find a new Vet over $3.00 & “Uh Yah, No”
They wanted money up front for my dogs medicine $450..I payed these people ..and it has been over a month and still no med for my dog they said two weeks..these people are stealing ...I will never bring our pets here ever again..dont waste your time or your pets health waiting on these people..if I could give a zero star I would give -5star rate
I called to set up an appointment for an exam because i adopted a puppy from a local rescue. The person who answered was very rude and short tempered. I live very close and thought it would be convenient to walk to. I was very suprised at how i was treated as i am always polite and i dont have extremely high expectations as a customer. I ended up going across town to Union street vet and was happy with their service.
Well I took my cat there because her vet was closed and only went for throwing up. And they tell me she in pain and suffering from internal bleeding and must be getting hurt. Im sorry but none of that is true at all. They said I should surrender her how would you think K I would do that had her 6 years never nothing wrong with her. Its all about money. You people are so wrong. I took her to her vet guess what nothing wrong at all with her
Brought my sick elderly cat in to be put to rest humanely. Was shamed into allowing them to complete the PREMIUM blood panel instead. Was told that we could look at his teeth issues after getting his other issues under control. When I took him for a second opinion at another vet, they agreed that it was time to let him go. Why prolong his suffering?
Tonight our dog had a sever reaction - vomiting, soiling himself and undetectable breathing - we rushed him to the closest veterinarian - Rotterdam Vet - and we were turned away because it was too close to closing time. This is a hospital that offers emergency care unless its too close to closing time. The vet on staff, Dr. Kopa, didnt even give him an exam, she simply said This dog needs oxygen as soon as possible but its too close to closing time and Ive already turned my oxygen room off for the night. Drive fast to the next closest animal hospital. We had called ahead told them we were coming and were still turned away. This is a sorry excuse for an animal hospital - Rotterdam Vets, you should be ashamed of yourselves!

2022-06-26This is not my regular vet but is only a few blocks from my house. One morning a few months ago, our cat, Maggie, was having a medical emergency and there was no time to take her to our vet or the emergency vet in Latham because the distance was too far. I called this vet in hysterics and they asked me to bring her right over. They did all they could for her but she was suffering from DIC and didnt make it. The compassion this office had is something I will never forget. They let me spend as much time with her as I needed and they took care of all the arrangements. A few weeks later, we received a card from the office with everyones condolences, along with 2 small cards with our girls paw prints. This office will always hold a special place in our hearts for being there for us in our time of need. Thank you for all you do and the compassion of your staff. We will never forget what was done for us.

2022-02-18The receptionist Nicole is extremely rude and unprofessional. She responds to your questions with sarcasm and acts as if you’re being annoying. Very unhelpful. Not the first time we have had unfriendly experiences with the staff at this vet. Based on reviews left by others it seems to be a trend here.

2022-06-18Took great care of my Puppy after an emergency vet visit i called Them - she was a new patient - and they still accepted her to which I’m grateful !! Still waiting for a spay and tooth pull surgery appointment they say they have to write an estimate up but it’s been a few weeks I’m trying to get this done - other than that it’s a great place to take our beloved pets !! Update - rescued a kitten and dr Amy was amazing - thank you

2021-09-21Amazing veterinary care and great prices. The staff is very friendly, accommodating and business oriented. Ive gone to several different veterinary clinics but stopped vet shopping after bringing my dog here. They also have holistic approaches for medical treatments and it has changed my dogs entire quality of life. I dont know where we would be without this place.

2021-07-15DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. Worst place to bring your pets. All they want to do is take your money they don’t care about your pets. Girlfriends 2 cats were misdiagnosed and they ended up charging her almost $1000 to clean their ears out and for a small dosage of medication for upper respiratory infection for one cat. You never have the same doctor seeing them and one doctor will say your animal has something you go back for a follow up cause they’re still sick and then another doctor will tell you it’s something else and charge you AGAIN. Very unprofessional and they don’t know what they’re doing. surprised the place is still up and running.

2020-10-16My animals have been patients for years. This week my dog became very Ill. They squeezed him in today despite a full schedule. They are wonderful! No matter what the outcome of his illness, they were compassionate, and went out of their way to help. Their pricing is fair.

2021-05-13We called this morning about our cat & explained she isn’t eating or moving and she won’t come to us which is out of character for her. Our cat was a patient here for many years but hasn’t been recently because we moved. The receptionist Nicole told us we were inactive and they had no appointments and were booking 2 weeks out. I repeated our concerns and she responded by saying that they haven’t seen our cat since 2016 although I’m not sure what the relevance is of that when an animal is suffering. No empathy, no acknowledgement, no offer to speak to the Dr and call us back to see if anything can be done. Just all business with no heart. Disgusting.

2019-12-12I used to bring my cats here. I didnt have a problem with the doctors but the facility was dirty and I felt that they did a lot of unnecessary treatment for my animal that was very sick, and should have just been put down. Their goal is to soak you for as much money as they can. I now bring my animals to just cats on Western Avenue. Its a bit further away but they dont treat you like your a number and they genuinely care for the comfort of you and your animals.
