Round1 Bowling & Amusement in other cities:
This place is horrible. As a regular customer it has went down the drain. Supposed to be a nice place to take your family and have fun. They will steal your money they dont care about any complaints that you have. If your looking to go have a good time with your wife and kids I do not recommend this place you will be going home with a headache.
This place is a great opportunity for an exciting day trip as my friends and I did. They had a health monitoring station upon arrival and at the time a mask mandate in there. The games were so much fun with so much variety and so many great, high-quality prizes to win as well. The photo booths were a bit pricey (26 points ~ $6.50 for the one we used) but all around the games were high quality and a lot of fun to play. We did not try the food from there or go bowling at the time, but we plan on coming back and doing even more that is offered there. The only complaint I had was how hot it was in there. At one point before leaving, my friends and I were all dripping I sweat and agreed it was time to leave to cool down with the heat building up in there. Overall, a great experience that I plan on having again while trying to better budget money with the prices of the games.
Definitely not what it used to be. Half of the machines were out of order. The machines that did work only produced 1 or 2 balls which took forever to come back after being thrown. There was one man working at the counter who doesnt need to be working in customer service and moves slow as all hell. Dave and Busters would never.
Originally, I was torn between 2 and 3 stars. Generally the arcade here is a bit overpriced, but has a great game selection and a unique, large prize room. As of today (3/27/22), however, nearly half of the games seem to be out of order (NOT an exaggeration--Ive counted more than two dozen games out of commission, including ball drops, coin pushers, carnival games, etc.) Both food and bar were closed. Worst of all, though, and pushing me down to one star, was that I had to fight to be allowed to take my son into the prize room. I was told that they were understaffed and couldnt man the prize room. I had to push back HARD in order to get them to allow us the privilege of selecting our winnings for games that we had already paid for. To be clear, this had nothing to do with their 6 in the room at a time covid policy; they were simply trying to close down the prize room for the day (this was at 12:30 PM).
I booked my daughter’s party at round one and paid a lot of money including one extra hour for karaoke. I have receipts so don’t you dare! Anyway they staff was so nasty , they did not help us. We had to ask for everything. They had an attitude when members of my party went up to the desk. While in the karaoke room, we asked them for our refills on the drink, they sent a rude staff to tell us that we should have asked for refills at 3:00pm. So I went to the manager to complain and she was nasty as well. I told her I am going to write a review. Following this they turned off our karaoke and sent security to tell us our time in the karaoke room has ended 20 minutes before the time.To top it off the food was nasty and the pizza was stale! This is a horrible place , they will not get a dollar from my hard working money ever. Don’t go there! Nasty staff and nasty manager!
The place is huge and well kept although we were there during the day on a weekday. Theres absolutely so much to do my 1 year old granddaughter was running through fascinated with curiosity. Looking forward to celebrating my 8th year old grandson birthday if this economy picks up
First I couldnt find an attrndant to find out where to get tickets to play. When I asked someone at the bowling desk he was super rude. Figured the place out, played some games. One game gave tickets that my grandson wanted for a stuffed animal, hes 6. He played but the tickets never came out. The machine said to look for an attendant. NEVER FOUND ONE. Again asked a bowl staff member, RUDELY responded Im not one.
This place is AWESOME.Walking inside I feel like Im ten-years-old all over again! Only, Im not ten-years-old. Im 37. But this has its advantages...First off, I have access to adult money, and that means I can make irrationally dumb purchasing decisions, like spending $50 on video games and not regretting it.Speaking of video games - this place has it all. Shooting, fighting, puzzle and skill games galore! There are dozens of games where you can try and win goofy knick-knacks and who-dizzies and widgets and wonkies. Then there are games where if youre REALLY skilled, you could walk away with iPads, Beats by Dre, iPhones, digital cameras and even gaming systems. They also have a number of other awesome activities you can enjoy - pool tables, Foosball tables, air hockey, shuffleboard and a dozen bowling lanes. They also have several rooms for karaoke, and offer two or three party rooms for groups to gather and hang out.The food is kind of what youd expect: crumby pizza, hot dogs, nachos, chicken nuggets and fries. Not great. But what is great is that they have a pretty extensive bar (beer and wine only) with lots of domestic and imported brews in both bottle and on tap. After 10 PM, its adult only. Its pretty wild.If you have kids and want to entertain the little ones for a few hours, this place is great. If youre like me and youre looking to be a big kid all over again, and have a couple of drinks in the process, then this place is great!
Extremely rude staff, except for the bartenders which were very nice, but they limit your bowling to 2 games no matter what in order to get people on and off the lanes as fast as possible. The staff member who told me that was extremely rude and dismissive. Food takes forever to be cooked, about 40 minutes for some fries and chicken strips, and is very expensive. The lanes are constantly breaking and requiring maintenance, and are in a state of disrepair. This is a terrible establishment and I would recommend to go somewhere else.
Nobody here wants to work. The employees are all young, inexperienced, and stand in the back talking to each other. When you ask for help, the manager presents a fake smile “someone will be there shortly”. Expect a 15-20 minute wait to find someone to open a UFO catcher machine for the win. The most helpful staff was the housekeeper who was friendly and tried to find us an employee to open the prize machines when we won. Even he struggled to find staff that could assist. Prizes were subpar. Environment was crowded and narrow. Won’t be returning.
Only did the bowling get but all I can say is wow. Super clean. First they take your temperature and all you to use sanitizer to go in. After bowling they wipe down, sanitize your area and the bowling balls and put them back for you. Reasonably priced and the whole family had fun.
I love Round 1. I go very often; the food is very good and there are a lot of games to play as well as bowling and karaoke. They can get a little expensive but if you use the Round 1 app you can get deals where they offer a free game of billiards, bowling, or a couple of extra credits on your game card. A membership costs 5 dollars a year and it is worth it if you go often. The workers are also very friendly.
We went here a few times since it opened. Sometimes just pass through and play the arcade. The last time I went with my friends there were service issues with the bowling. There were barely any people there, only one other lane that was open and no one came to help. It happened three times! And each time we had to go to them and have them reset it. It was very annoying to have to wait to play. We wanted to play another game but didn’t want to deal with the service and issues.
As an avid fighting game player, the games they have here are great. BlazBlue, Akatsuki Blitzkampf, Persona 4 Arena. Ive been here three times now with friends and I have fun every time Im there. Wish there were more fighting game fans I could play with though.Reading most of the other reviews here, it seems theres a big issue with customer service. Rude staff, lackluster food. Ive only talked to one staff member and he was doing his job, answering my question. Other than that, I havent really interacted with staff so I cant really say anything on that matter. Ive never eaten here either, seeing as the food was too expensive for me.Next time I go Ill try to interact with the staff more, see what theyre really like. Id definitely recommend if youre a fan of fighting games like I am. They also have rhythm games like Gitadora, Project Diva, and racing games like Mario Kart and Initial D. Love this place.
While their hours for the games are what they say it is, they do not allow you to redeem tickets after 9pm. Nowhere on the website does it say this, or even with a sign in the arcade. They just shut the lights off and rope it off with no warning. I went there last night with 4 pre teen boys and spent $550 for my sons birthday. They all racked up points and when we saw the lights were out, the first employee we asked, a young man with glasses, he was so sweet and explained they closed it around 9ish I asked if we could make an exception because we drove and hour and it was my sons birthday. (I asked nicely and wasnt a Karen lol) he was so nice and regretful because he just wasnt allowed. So the boys are upset and my son is near tears and wants to leave. I tried to talk to an older person there who wouldnt even stop walking and all I was able to say was , can you help us, and he just said, I dont have to and kept walking. We will be returning only to redeem our tickets the next time we have to go to the area, but they lost our business.
If you like rhythm games this is the place for you. All of them have online support, and cards are available at the cashier. Machines are quite loud while playing, especially on beatmania IIDX. This place is quite bigger than I expected, with two entrances both front and back (one leads to the middle of the mall, the other leads to Target + an exit). Definitely making some monthly visits.
Honestly it’s not a great place ! Waited hours for 1 lane after requesting 2 from the start for a party of 7.was told bc they are busier we only get 1 lane yet at least 8 lanes were open while we bowled. Would’ve went elsewhere if we known from the start .Our lane stopped working and we were switched to another one . Had to move all of our belongings ,shoes ,drinks, kids ,coats ,strollers, our bowling balls it sucked . Just to have that lane have problems. Drunk men walking around our children in the arcade and leaving half drank beer cups for anyone to pick up and try . Was over priced on food that was nasty. Arcade wasn’t worth the money spent and prizes were too expensive. Will not be going back ever ! Don’t recommend.
If I could give it zero stars i would. One of the worst experiences I have ever had. Wait time for a lane for 2 games given was 2.5 hours.... we waited 30mins....Food/restaurant not open, stepped out into mall for food for my little ones to and was called and told lane was ready and they could only hold as a courtesy to me for 5 mins. When I let them know I was in the mall and would walk straight to them I was told I would have to be put at the line. The staff was extremely rude and have no Training in customer service. I asked to speak to a manager as i walked through the mall...I stood behind the manager while she was on the phone with me head bobbing with attitude. We then waited for our next turn in line for a lane only to then be told that due to the line being so long we were only able to play 1 game. We waited well over 2 hours just to walk out and go to Quinns Pinz. If you are looking for a good experience do not go here
Went with my family to bowl the internet said one time that it opened, when we got there the person at the desk said it opens to the public at 1:00 because it was open for a party, there was one small group at one end of the lanes. So they need to update the web site. And if it is one party they are losing money when people are waiting around to go bowling
Way over priced. Go to a regular bowling alley n support your local small business owner. Tried it for the first time for my sons birthday n was very disappointed in the alleys.. the games were overpriced as well n they even charge you for the cards to upload money on. 😤
There was so many games options and the games not working they were so helpful to return the credits back to your card! It was really packed but it wasnt much of a wait time for the games. We didnt make it to every one of them but ill definitely be returning when I come back into town! The prices were decent and even had a bowling alley inside and food spot. Couldnt get any better
Cecile is so amazing! She was really sweet and asked if I needed anything and asked if I needed help carrying anything because I had a bunch of things in my hands and I was on crutches! Then after she helped me she helped other people. She really has a heart of gold. The people in the front desk were really nice too! All of them are so amazing and friendly! I don’t care what bad reviews have about Round 1, because It won’t change my opinion about it and I’m gonna tell all my friends to go here
This place is definitely a little pricey, but its very cool and has a lot to offer. Between the video games, bowling alley, ping pong, billiards tables and karaoke rooms there is sure to be something for everyone. They also sell food and have beer and wine as well. Definitely a pretty cool place.
Its a complicated place to understand if you havent been there before. A bunch of games and activities to do. Only thing I didnt like was the idea of a reloadable card and the credits per each game were kind of expensive. I think I personally just misunderstood the place, but definitely would go back and try again!
The biggest grab of this place is the amount of rhythm games- Round 1 is the only place that has Dancerush Stardom, which is so much fun. There are plenty of games in the arcade and most of them are fairly priced. I give it four stars because their burger was kinda bad, but their fries were pretty good.
The place was beautiful but the employees were horrible. I am a small business owner and it’s sad to see how employees can care so little about there jobs and someone establishment. The hours we’re supposed to be till 9pm and the arcades were shut down at at 8:15 not including that I was spent over $100 on my children playing in the trampoline area and most of the parts were closed but yet I still payed full price for part service. And as I said I am a small business owner and I know how bad these reviews look but it was an absolute nightmare. The bar manager was also rude and disrespectful.
This place is very clean. It’s very popular and very loud. They have lots of crane games, arcade games, karaoke rooms, pool tables, and a bowling alley. Though a few bowling alleys has broken down a few times. The food is pretty good quality while being pretty cheap. Also there is emphasis on Japanese drinks. You can also get 1$ ice cream here and it’s delicious. The bathrooms are very clean as well.
I found myself going to customer service with my friend at least once during my visit to get credit for a light gun shooter that was horribly calibrated. Several other machines were in need of calibration as well, although they were playable to a degree. The claw machines are a total joke. They post hints on the top corner of the machine showing were to aim to basically poke the stuffed animal in a certain angle to loosen the animal and thus dropping the bear... I found myself spending more
Initially I had issues when booking but our party lady we had Brittany was amazing !!!!!!! I booked an all inclusive kids party for my 2 boys. Brittany was there making sure we had everything we needed and with a smile. She was personable, sweet, and attentive. So worth it. Now we ate thinking of doing and all inclusive party for adults next!!
So this place is very impressive and fancy but for the price, I dont know if its worth it. Dont eat here. We spent nearly $100 on pizza and wings and it wasnt even that great. We also had a terrible experience bowling because our lane kept having technical difficulties. The arcade though. Its the best Ive ever been to. There are so many different games to play and things to do. Plus, the prizes are topshelf. Once I saw what my kids could cash out on I was tempted to start playing some games myself. They have something for everyone. I havent done karaoke here yet but Im looking forward to giving it a try. I believe they have some other attractions as well, this place is huge! I may not go bowling here or eat here ever again but I will be back for the rest.
The bowling machines are terrible, not returning balls, not registering pin hits, youll end up having to hit the service buttons at least once or twice per game because the machines dont work properly. This place has good food, a nice bar, great arcade games, but has terrible bowling, which is supposed to be the focal point of the establishment. The people here know nothing about operating and maintaining the machines.
Came to the food and drinks to get a water bottle, stood there for a good 3 mins while being stared at by managers when I finally got fed up they asked if I needed help I just walked away . And I’m almost positive they were possibly managers. Idc what meeting you guys decide to have on the floor . Customers in front of you are to be taken care of first
Love this place. I feel as though lately it has been getting more noticed or something because of how busy its been. Bowling is usually full with a wait list of up to two hours. If you want to come here specifically for bowling on a weekend, dont come after 7pm. Other than that, the arcade is fun, authentic, karaoke is really fun especially with a group of friends when youre drinking (they only give you one mic, though-- womp). The alcohol selection is great, who doesnt love cheap drinks? The bartenders are also so fun and lovely. :-)
What a cool place to go! They have tons of games, from Mario kart racing to rock band. The friends that I went with were really into ddr and were super pleased with the selection of machines that they had. They had rock band type games too, with guitars and drums. Their unlimited play package was a nice plus too, as it allows for unlimited play on certain games for 90 minutes for only $10. If youre more into ticket yielding games, they had a bunch of those too. We got lucky and ended up winning a few thousand tickets from the ~$100 we spent on games, which got us each 2 mugs and a wall clock.Definitely will be back.
This place could be amazing. The whole concept is great. Execution is abysmal. Service was grossly lacking. Shift was terribly understaffed. Had technical issues on multiple bowling lanes. Waited 10 minutes after calling for assistance before I went up to the main desk and waited in line to ask someone to help us. The one employee was handling concessions, check-in and payments. No one ever came to fix the lane. A second visit and another wait at the front desk ended with the employee simply moving us to another lane. That lane also had issues. Other employees were standing around watching the single employee at the front desk. This place has so much potential, but needs to be better staffed and managed.
This place is huge! There are a ton of video games to choose from. There are multiple rooms for karaoke if youre into that sort of thing. Bowling alley is nice, but a bit pricey. The bar is reasonably priced with a nice selection of drinks and specials. Great for kids and adults.
I had hosted a birthday party for my son Saturday the 22nd at the Round1 in the mall. At first I was a little hesitant after reading other reviews and trying to call for about two weeks without getting in touch with someone. When I finally got in touch with someone they were not very helpful and they kind of had an attitude over the phone they told me to come in in person and speak to Barbra. I was able to go into the store with my wife and speak to Barbra. I explained my situation that I had tried calling for about two weeks and when I finally was in contact with someone who could help they were rude and had an attitude. Barbra was more than helpful, she went through and explained everything about the party to us, went over the contract told us things that we were not aware of and insured us that we were all set for the day of the party and it would be an enjoyable experience. I was still a little uneasy but it’s what my son wanted so we were going to give it a shot. The day of the party we showed up a little before the party and were greeted by Barbra at the counter. She explain to us how the day was going to go and she informed us that she was going to be hosting the party and if we had any questions or issues to let her know. I was honestly surprised how smoothly the party went, Barbara constantly checked in on us although she was extremely busy I noticed she was hosting a couple other parties at the same time as ours. The food and drinks were always refilled, she helped us with other activities and directed us to what arcade games we could use and was more than helpful especially with the 20 children we had. At the end of the party as she started clearing everything up and we tried to give her a tip which was well-deserved and we were informed that unfortunately as a manager she was not able to except tips but she thanked us for coming. My son and his friends had an a great time and I know we will be coming back in the future to host another party. It was a very enjoyable experience and Barbra was an incredible host from taking the deposit to the day of the party. Hopefully others will have a great experience like we did thanks to Barbra.
Ive been in this place almost every weekend since it opened. I can say that this is one of the fastest deteriorations Ive EVER witnessed. It was SO nice and clean the first few weeks. We played video games, crane machines, billiards, karaoke. We had a great time. However, the last two or three times weve gone, things have been going down hill.- The bathroom gets closed down for random amounts of time during working hours. Tonight the bathrooms were shut down for the last few hours that the establishment was open, which forced patrons to go to the other end of the mall to use one. Not really too big of a deal, since there was still a viable alternative to the restroom situation, but when youre charged by the hour for things and it takes 15 minutes to get to and from the bathroom, I feel like something should be done.- One of the main reasons weve been going is because we love the karaoke rooms...The karaoke rooms arent cleaned up before the next customer goes in. The cushions are strewn around, trash and food are left in them. Last week we were in a room where the speakers were already showing signs of being blown. This weekend we only got one mic because the other wasnt charged and the room was FREEZING cold. I had to wear my winter jacket the whole time we were in there. Not to mention that you arent supposed to have alcohol in the rooms, but one of the managers was in a room with a group of people blatantly breaking that rule. When confronted about it he stuttered and suddenly had somewhere else to go.- The snack bar & beer bar both needs more employees. The staff they had there tonight were visibly struggling to keep up with the crowd. I felt bad for them.Between food, beer, games, karaoke, etc... Weve spent a lot of time and money in here. Its MOSTLY a good time, but after the last few visits I honestly dont know if I even care to go back.
We were switched between lanes two times and had to request service 4 times due to mechanical problems. After requesting service, we had to wait 10-20 minutes for a mechanic to come. I would not recommend bowling at Round 1, a game that should have lasted an hour lasted 2 hours because of the poor service. I recommend finding another place to bowl in the surrounding area.
.99 cent ice cream that is actually eatable. $1.99 for beers 16oz depending on the “cup” all day. They have a good special $21.99 all you can eat, and play for 2 hours. Plenty of games especially old school games as well as new school. Credits to play vary and can be high on certain games but it’s worth it. Any issues the staff will help. Overall a great place for kids and adults.
So many great games!! Its the only times youll get to experience some of these because they are from Japan. The place looks great. The games for kids are in the front, and the ones for gamers is in the back, helping to separate the games for the two audiences. Its a place you must go to and experience for yourself!
Besides it being ridiculously packed.. The amount of time they give you per game is ridiculous. They give you a few seconds. Its a rip off. Also, the machines that say youll win tickets wont give you tickets. I went to 3 games and swiped my card and they charged me for it but they did not work. Needles to say it was all a rip off. Theres barely any personnel around to let them know some games arent working. Ill never go in there. Very disappointed. Waste of time besides waste of money.
So much fun for the whole family. Biggest arcade Ive ever seen. They have everything from bowling and pool tables, ping pong, A karaoke booth, photo booths. It was pretty awesome.Definitely a great place to have a kids birthday party or date night for mom and dad..... They serve adult favorite is as well!
Great place, definitely needed in the area. The good: Lots of arcade games, pool, ping pong, bowling, karaoke, and a bar. They have a great selection at the bar including a lot of $2 beers. The prize area is pretty good with lots of options. Great place for any age. The bad: arcade games are a little pricey, I wish they had little tables to put your drinks on while you play games, and you can’t bring alcohol into the karaoke room.
I am going to start this off by saying that if you happen to choose a busy day to visit, good luck because this business is run very poorly. If you come midweek during the day, you probably wont have problems.I went on a Friday at 8. I knew it would be busy. Waiting isnt a big issue since there was a big arcade, right?Wrong.A large, LARGE amount of the arcade machines were broken or out of service. Not sure how so many machines can be so broken, so early into the life of this business. The other half of the games are in Japanese with no hint of English, so you just have to wing it and hope you know how to play whatever it is you are swiping.I would complain about how the unlimited game cards only work on like 5 machines, but thats probably just me not reading things properly. Now onto the real issues of my visit.7/18 lanes were not working or shut down.I was told 1-1.5 hour wait. 45 minutes later I get a text saying my lane is open. So I went to the counter, and my lane was given to someone else under the excuse, there was a problem with the lane they wanted to give me. So I had to wait a little more. Okay thats fine, because I was told an hour and a half anyway.20 minutes later I get another text saying my lane was open, and they gave it to me.Except they gave me a lane that was halfway through a game with a party of 10+ people who were kicked off their game, and we had to now settle that problem. After this all, it took us about 2 hours to actually be able to have a game of bowling. It just seems to be very lacking in staff. For the amount of business this is going to attract, you need enough employees to ensure your business can handle the volume, which this place clearly doesnt.
Went there to host a party for a friend. Everything beforehand went smoothly minus having to make the deposit in person. I ended up being late during the actual date but they were nice enough to open the alleys before I got there to pay, we also had our cards work for 3 hours from when I payed so nothing of value was lost. Eeveryone had fun though 3 hours feels extremely short when you get down it. Kudos to our hostesses that helped us with everything from food to cleanup!Would go back but be careful around peak hours as not all the employees have the time and energy to be nice all the time. Also no wifi or 4g in the arcade so youll have to go into the mall or outside to get signal, which is problematic for the QR scanning for club members.
Today is my sons birthday and I tried to make it a perfect evening for him. We got the works with game time and food, spending over $122 dollars, just to have to be met time and again with disappointments and rude staff. I just noticed the other reviews advising the same that for the most part the staff, at least in the food side, are extremely rude with negative attitudes as though the complaints of the quality of food is a direct reflection on them, which shows lack of maturity. Its a stark difference between the staff members on the food side versus the sales side where you purchase your cards and entertainment. I am not sure why but I will be listing the same complaints here to their corporate office because management could not resolve except find excuses for their burnt food. From the first order of cheese fries, which were burnt which had the fries hard and difficult to chew through the pizza also being burnt, we were shocked at the lack of sensitivity but instead received attitude even with the wings also coming not as requested. I had to get 3 different staff opinions where everyone agreed the pizza was burnt. However the manager insists that the fries are usually burnt crispy This is not the first time I have come here. We come here often to play games and we spent over $300 on food and games for a full fledged birthday party for my step daughter and the food was amazing so I expected nothing less today but I was wrong. I gave this review 2 stars because the manager tried to accommodate by replacing the pizza but by that point it was almost 9p.m. from arriving at 6:30 p.m. and I had bought an unlimited card that I could only use about 20 minutes, leaving almost an hour on the card without use because between getting the food, getting the food replaced and complaining, we lost so much time and I had to get my children home for bed time. The same manager said he could do nothing about the game card and all my complaints needed to go to corporate. That is a shame that management at this level are useless that I have to complain to corporate for some type of compensation or credit and an apology. I cant get back my day or make it up to my son, his birthday is once a year. So honestly those that come here for entertainment just stick to playing games and go to the Peruvian restaurant in the same mall for your food or elsewhere and just play the games. If you do order food be prepared for the worst and dont be afraid to complain so that one day someone at corporate can tidy up their ship and give everyone decent training on how to make food and sensitivity training on how their employees should deliver their customer service with class, understanding and respect.
Karaoke rooms are a lot of fun and reasonably priced! My only complaint would be that we waited around for almost an hour for a room (when we were told the wait was 30 mins), but it had actually been available sooner and they just didn’t let us know until I asked again. Overall fun time though, I would go back!
My friends and I had such an amazing time here! I’m visiting NY and we stopped by to check out the arcade hall. WOW, great choice! This spot is way better than Dave and Busters. I go to D&B often back home and Round 1 could teach them a thing or two. They have a better selection of games, and I mean WAY better! Some of the Japanese cabinet games had me addicted after two plays. I’ve seen some mom and pop arcade shops have cabinets like these but it was nice to see more. There was also bowling, which I didn’t partake in this time but looked like fun and pool which I did play and the tables we well kept and prices were decent by the hour. They have Karaoke private rooms and a TON of plush claw grabber games!!! They also have a great selection for their prizes when you want to turn in your tickets.
Fantastically fun place for the whole family. First there is the karaoke rooms. Definitely an excellent party idea. Theres pool, ping-pong and bowling. There is a bit of a wait, but there isnt a shortage of other things to do while waiting. Cute kids games. A huge wide variety of arcade games. And the prizes are fantastic they actually have prizes you want to win! They add new games and the chicken tenders and fries are delicious. The beer is only $1.99
So. What can I say about round one? Ive been going there since it opened last year. Have the membership card and everything. Its been a fantastic time going there the claw machines and the rhythm games are my favorite. Staff is friendly.NOW a year later. Two of my favorite rhythm games have busted volumes. The headphone jacks are hit and miss on it and the claw machines are nothing like they were when they opened. Its very saddening. The ufo claw machines no longer operate like they did. The staff have turned back the dial on the arm strength and put them in precarious positions that get them stuck more often than winning them.Theres been a set of stuffed animals that no one has won because of that. Proof of that is that the set of stuffed animals have been sitting there for months with none being replaced. The rhythm games had a major overhaul in pricing but they seemed to revert it back. They increased the prices of some games to 6.4 credits instead of just 6. Believe it or not you miss out on 4 or 5 games. But as I said it was reverted. Its still a wonderful place to spend a few hours. But it no longer operates like it did that made it great originally.
I really wanted to like this place, but first (and probably last) visit was disaster. Bowling lane we were assigned to wasn’t working at all. We were reassigned to another that also didn’t work. After thirty minutes of not bowling, we asked for a refund and left. Customer service wasn’t very fast or efficient and family left disappointed.
Young people around here need a place like this and this place disappoints greatly. Its very apparent that all the employees dont like their job because it shows through their incompetence to provide even the minimum of good customer service. The only pleasant interactions I had were with the security guards. The lines werent even long for food, billiards, or bowling yet we found ourselves waiting in lines that never moved up. The waitlist system is a joke. They text you when theyre ready for you but cell service inside is not the best so theres a chance you miss it. They also claim they call your name over a loudspeaker but none of my friends heard anything, especially over the music playing. We waited an hour for a pool table even though two were completely unoccupied. When we received our text that our bowling lane was ready, we stood in line behind one other group and waited, again. I wish someone wouldve at least acknowledged us or apologize and informed us why its taking so long for the group ahead of us to get moving. We got fed up and went back to the arcade. I will come back for the arcade, mostly for mario kart, however, half the games are in a different language and a lot of the machines were broken. Of course, I didnt find that out until I wasted money on them. I would love coming here more, the place has potential to run really well, but its frustrating to go out to have a good time with your friends and end up annoyed by the lazy staff.
I love arcades, however this place is subpar. Games are either out of order or malfunctioning. The games are relatively costly compared to other arcades. If youre in the area and need some time to kill then great, but if you can a bit further find a Dave & Busters, selection and prices are much better.
I have been to Round 1 I think 4 times now mainly just for the karaoke rooms. The first time I went I was with 4 other people and we were amazed. It was awesome! But after that it got worse and worse. The karaoke room used to have 2 microphones for groups and now they only give you one, big let down if you plan on doing duets. They also raised their prices for the karaoke but took away a mic, it makes no sense.Sadly I really loved this place and travelled an hour away to it to have fun with my friends but it really seems like the staff is either under-paid or just hates their job and really has no interest in being there. I hope they can get it together because it is an awesome place to have fun when its all working properly!
Lovely place! Spent an hour there with a friend and there was no shortage of good 2 person games!A lot of the crane games are the ufo catcher type that are supposed to tilt the prizes, not pick them up! Any of them with plastic claws are that type! I won a big stuffed bear in 2 tries-I recommend just playing games that look fun!
This place is ENORMOUS. Absolutely huge. Bowling alley, private karaoke, ticket games, and tons of arcade games. Great layout and design, great attention to detail. It feels a little bit like living in the future. Prices are totally reasonable. However two things will keep me from coming back here very often. Here are my two gripes:First, most of the arcade machines seem to be from Korea. And as a result they are entirely in Korean language. The text and the dialog is all impossible to understand. This means it can be challenging to figure out what you are supposed to be doing in the games and you end up feeling like youve thrown your money away. The second gripe is that all of the games are very modern, and there is no retro corner for older games, most of which are more fun to play than their contemporary counterparts. If Round One included a retro corner built with the same attention-to-detail as the rest of the facility, it would be incredible.
I had a lot of fun here. Love the Japanese ufo catchers bowling was fun but the next day I ended up getting warts on my fingers. Please cleans yours balls this is nasty have hand sanitizer stations. But would come for the arcade only. Or bring my own wipes. Very disappointed
So the cards you need to buy are so confusing. They have yearly fees. And fees for the fees. Then the games are VERY expensive for the number of tokens you need to use to play. IT IS SO SO SO LOUD. Every game is at 100% volume and compete with one another. I had to leave within 20 mins. Can’t even say I want to come back, kids seemed OK leaving too which is scary.Turn down game volume. Change confusing pricing on game cards.
I love round one so much. Im probably there at least twice a month. So many games to pick from, karoke room, bowling, pool tables, and ping pong tables. My friends and I mostly enjoy the arcade games and the karoke rooms. So if your looking for something fun to do with friends or family. Round one would be a good place to go!
Its really a huge place with a variety of games. We had problems with the bowling lanes. First the little block things for the kids wouldnt go up and assistance took a while to show up and help us. When they finally did they initially wouldnt switch us a lane with working gutter ball block. Eventually they did. The second lane broke down on us and nobody showed up to help. We searched around for assistance and when we found someone they didnt show up to fix things. So we played half a game of what we paid for. They had some classic arcades tho. Mostly gambling for kids.
I visited the round one in Middletown and it was an amazing experience but the manager Barbara is very rude and disrespectful she called me annoying for wanting my lanes to be fixed continued to yell at me and yelled at a few of her employees. Her presence isn’t needed and it’s going to effect the customers. I would like a corporate number. Something needs to be done about this. I recommend better management when it comes to an unladylike person as such.
I booked online, and never received a confirmation email.I was then called the day-of, and told my party had been canceled since I never came in-person to confirm (which the website does not say is required, and I live 2 hours between 2 different locations sooo kind of impossible to just casually do that). What I was told is online reservations are usually dropped unless they are confirmed in person, even though you are forced to pay 50% of the deposit at the time of the booking online.Ultimately I got my party reinstated since we were mostly interested in games and karaoke. So when we arrived to pay the remaining, we were told because it was canceled previously I now had to pay the FULL amount. Okay fine. I had them split it between two cards. The total was 475 for 14 adults. Split between 2 cards, 475 is 237. The girl ringing is up tried to charge 275 on each card. Im not sure if she was just legitimately that bad at math OR trying to scam us so she could pocket 75$ but she was caught. I pointed out we had asked to split it. She said she was. I told her that 275 times 2 is 550, not 475. It should be 237. She looks at me like im crazy. I then pull out a calculator to prove my point and she gets an attitude and proceeds with the transaction.I would avoid party bookings. Ive never had a bigger headache and it was a terrible start to my own birthday party!
Its a spot middletown needed for entertainment. Without ot the closest place is probably goshen. Round on is fairly clean and a nice place to pass time with family or friends. But the prices are alittle high for what you get, the staff is also (on occasion) not all, but a selected few are pretty nasty. I love the option of playing games, bowling, ping pong, jamming it out with karaoke or if you want grab a beer and watch a game with some friends.
I have been going with coworkers and friends since it opened and have quite a number of stamps on my membership card. I dont think Ill be going there anymore after last nights experience.Hour wait for karaoke, which isnt out of the norm, but three of the five rooms were empty. They put us on the bowling wait list for some reason and then after that confusion was fixed, we tried to get our usual two hours but we were told because theres a wait we could only do one hour (we usually go on a Saturday and have never had this happen, but Ill try to assume its a new policy). We received our karaoke equipment and proceeded to go to the room on our receipt/equipment (usually theres a card that clearly indicates the room and the associate says the room, but neither happened). Turns out the room was being used by a huge group so we had to get staff again to fix that and while she said our time was paused, it still cut into our overall time in the end albeit by maybe ten minutes (still, thats like three extra songs). One of our party asked for a manager after seeing how many footprints were all over the table and that the previous group had put sooo many songs in a list that also cut into our time when deleting them. We explained what happened that while the manager said hed come in and clean the table and add another 25 minutes onto thing, we didnt actually get a single apology. No sorrys the entire night, which wouldve made such a difference honestly. So an hour and twenty minutes after we had paid for our stuff passes, the original associate opens the door, says something, and then leaves, so we had one of our party go and track her down. She apparently said Your time is up. After everything else, we honestly didnt feel like arguing and finished up. I checked over the receipt and saw that we did not get discounted at all when I used my membership card ($17) and let the guy who paid for our night know, and he obviously wasnt happy. I also reminded him to grab his ID from the counter because as policy, they hold your license in order to get their equipment back, and guess what? They didnt hold his ID.Combining this with past experiences, I have noticed that the staffs customer service skills have been continually going down and researching how little the average Round 1 associate gets paid in comparison to other retail and food establishments, it doesnt surprise me that its come down to people who dont know how to interact with other people. When Chuck E Cheese was still around, I was an associate there for two years and I can say with certainty while I was there, no one was that terrible with customer service that wasnt canned immediately (perhaps though the last few years changed that but I do not know). You would think that someone who regularly comes in would at least get treated decently because I help pay for your paychecks, but think again.I am hoping against all hopes that the Castle implements Karaoke rooms because you guys have some serious opportunity here to drive these people out. I used to be so excited for the arcade games and the cheap alcohol and the great escape after work, but its no longer here. To any higher up corporate management that is unlikely reading this, stop expanding your stores so fast and fix the ones like this that you have or you wont have a business to expand any more. Youre going to drive your cashflow into the negative right quick with keeping such rude people on staff. Customer service is a keystone of a healthy customer facing business and a death sentence to those that dont maintain it proper.
I tried to get a prize from the prize counter and the employee who was working near opening hours did not have the key to open the cabinet for the prize I wanted. Over a figurine, you have to wait for a manager to open who isnt even in till the late hours of the evening. Just let the guy give out the appropriate prizes, there are things on open shelves worth more tickets than some items in the cabinet! Disappointed wasting time and money to try to earn a prize that might as well not be available.
First Time Going To This Location On A Friday. Arrived Around 7pm And We Didn’t Bowl Until 10pm.It Was Very Packed With Birthday Parties And Other Reservations. The Front Told Us They Would Text Us Within An Hour And A Half When Our Lane Was Ready.. We Recieved No Text And How To Keep Checking The Front Desk. If It Wasn’t For The Employee Panda For Being Very Patient And Helping Us Out I Would Of Rated No Stars. The Best Time To Go Would Be The Weekdays..
Extremely rude. How is a new bowling alley got more then half its lanes broken in under 3 weeks? Additionally when you tell us its a 3 and a half hour wait for a lane, when we have been standing in front of you discussing how many games we want to bowl for 20 mins, you are just inconsiderate. Then when we come past 15 mins later and your trying to get people on the lanes, we learn you are terrible at your job. Not to mention the trash on the floor, and poor walking space between game systems, and the extremely loud overpowering noise so close to the lanes. I will never enter your alley again.
Wow. What a disappointment. Came here with a work function with 15 people , ordering food for that many people was difficult to say the least, Because our order was so large one of the managers made sure to shake her head and let us that it’s going to take a long time. We tried to go bowling and when the line cleared out we were allowed to stand there while there were 4 people behind the register who just spoke to each other and ignored us. Eventually we spoke up to ask if we could get a lane and were told with attitude that it would be awhile. We asked how long awhile is and they said at least an hour and a half, Which is fine because it was a busy Sunday night but it was the way it was said to us and the way we were ignored that rubbed me the wrong way. Also this place is dirty, the staff is poorly trained and rude , and the food is garbage. Bar and video games are ok. Also don’t try paying with Amex.
Horrible customer service. Two girls standing at guest service talking to their friends as people stand waiting to order food. One is bouncing a ball laughing and talking. Management is a joke no assistance at all. Too busy trying to be friends then serve customers for a thirsday night spring break very disappointing with customer service the lack of adult supervision for the staff is obviously the reason for the lack of service given.
This Round 1 was so much fun! They had a lot of awesome games that were in really good condition and they had many ufo catchers that you could win from. There was one staff member that restocked the ufo catchers every now and then, but I wish they would stay near the machines to help customers reposition plush and restock faster. Other than that, this had to be one of my favorite Round 1 arcades to go to. I would totally recommend it!
My family and I love this place. Only thing I would suggest, is for the owners to make sure all of the games are working. Or else its pretty upsetting when they dont and we still pay for them and then they make it up by putting the store card in and we cant get any points from that, only play the game.
This place have very bad customer service.. some of the workers here look like they really hate their jobs and the lines are extremely long. When people come up for refund, the manager is no where to be found, you wait on average for 20 minutes to get 8 points back. This is one of the worst round 1s that I been to.The UFO machines have error codes on them and they are left like that for along time. The workers do not replace prizes in these machines and theyre also no where to be found. The line for food is more ridiculous. My friend waited about 15 minutes just to get her drink refilled. It takes 20 minutes to order a meal and another 30 minutes for the meal to come. There needs to be multiple registers...Some of the staff were really friendly.. but they disappear after a while. This might be temporary due to short on staffing. But some of the staff here are extremely rude, there was one that rolled her eyes because we told her to put prizes up...

2022-03-12Once upon a time this place was great however it has disappointed me. Numerous games tend to be Out of Service, and two Weekends in a row I was unable to bowl due to majority of the lanes being broken. This is horrible! I understand machines break but when you know Fri Sat Sun is your most busy days why not have them fixed at least by then? I hope that they do better I will be looking for another option for my children going forward.Pics below show all the purple screeens which means the lane is broken.

2022-05-15I love this place. Its affordable for your family to go and have a great day out. The staff is sweet theyre very kind very helpful and the food is not overpriced at all. Youll have a great time there for approximately $6 a game your kids and your family will have a blast. Especially now when its so expensive to do anything with the family

2021-12-14Beware of this awful arcade. The White female worker without the uniform is so rude, they don’t want you to win anything I spent couple hundreds dollars at this location every week. Today I spent about two hundreds dollars , I am so close to winning a 500 tickets prize after spending a lot of money on this game. That woman worker Shut down the game I was playing on purpose so I couldn’t win the tickets. The machine was never working properly, any problems they don’t care, they won’t fix it. When I took a picture of this woman, she said no photos allow to take, she was so scared of how mess up she was. What a loser she is? You know who you are, I hope you lose your low life job at Round one. I will not return this place any time sooner and spend my money there. I guess this arcade owners don’t care if they missing couple hundreds dollars short every week from me.

2021-08-30Had a great time. Bowling and the arcade was great plenty of games for everyone. A bar to relax at and watch the game while you release your teens. There was a wait at the redemption center to be expected. Will definitely go back soon.

2022-06-01I took my son to bowl for 90 mins. Was told there was a 30 min wait and we could only bowl 2 games because they needed to accommodate the people waiting. When we got to bowl I noticed that 5 lanes were out of service. For a busy place they should maintain their equipment better.

2022-02-25Ugh...This place wasnt on a high note since it opened. Now even with the pandemic winding down, this place is in the swirl part of the toilet when you flush. Eat before you go or plan on getting food elsewhere after you had whatever fun you could piece together. Ignore the QR code on the table at the bowling alley because they wont have 90 percent of the food thats on the menu, and I am NOT exaggerating. They only had French Fries, Mozzarella sticks and Chicken tenders. They open at 1pm but Bowling doesnt start until 2pm or probably anything that you are trying to do with a group for that matter because they dont turn on the screen for this activities until 2pm either. Nobody comes to see if you need anything because there is only ONE person working the food area and bar. Just lower your expectations, and you should have an OK time.

2022-02-21I really wanted to give Round 1 1/2 star it wasnt available. This place hires individually who are not trained to do the job effectively. Plus the supervisor she lies walking into the situation and not knowing what was going on. She also needs more training on supervising.First on the school break week 2/21/2022 where school are out out kids to have a good time, Round 1 was not prepared. They opened late. 810pm staff was not ready to handle the crowd.no food available
