Family of 4 plus our dog had a wonderful stay in cabin 8 (one of the duplex units). Cabin was clean and had everything we needed, onsite playground & firepits were a big hit with our kids. Owners were extremely accommodating, we checked in very late and he offered to turn on the heat and left our cabin ready for our arrival. We will be back!
Well this year we decided to try someplace new, unfortunately the owner did not welcome new people. We have been staying there for 4 days and when his regular people came to camp he took all our benches from the fire pit and when we asked why he literally said because Im the owner thats why. Stated he could do whatever he wanted to do. Which I guess is okay. However we will not be going back to his sight. The location was convenient the scenery was beautiful minutes from the beach and Lakefront however there are a lot of more places that we would like to stay and maybe be treated a little better. So all in all I can say he only likes the people who have been coming repetitively and doesnt want new business.
We had an excellent stay at Rowe’s! LOVE that it is pet friendly!! The cabin was nicely decorated and very clean! The grounds were very nicely kept with fire pits, grills, and a playground for families to enjoy. The owner was also very accommodating. We will be back!!
Just returned from a four night stay at Rowes. This was my second stay in as many years. This trip I was in cabin #7, the Camo Den. From the kitchen to parlor to bedroom(s) it has all you could need for a comfortable stay. It was toasty warm and affordable. Located in the Adirondacks just off route 9 in Schroon Lake, NY its a great home base for exploring areas such as the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness area. One month wouldnt be long enough to see all the region has to offer. Thats why Im going back to Rowes real soon.
My friends from college and I, four ppl total, rented cabin #7. This cabin was very comfortable and allowed us to have enough room to move around without feeling cramped in. The property has hammocks, grills and a fire pit, which allowed us to roast marshmallows one night. The owner was very friendly and helpful! We had a lovely stay at Rowes and I would definitely rent cabin #7 again!
The cabin overbooked without any notice to customers. Arrived to the site and was denied a room even though was confirmed. Drove 5 hours from NJ and destroyed the family vacation.
This is a nice place to stay. The cabins are small but very attractively done in Knotty Pine. Ours had a full kitchen with eating and cooking utensils. And it is conveniently located just outside the town of Schroon.

Family of 4, along with our dog, stayed 3 nights in one of the cabins. The cabin was clean and comfortable and met all of our needs. Check in and check out process was easy and quick. Well stay there again on our next trip.
I really enjoyed my stay here, it was quiet and relaxing. The cabin was exceptionally clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful when looking for the best local places to eat. The area is very scenic and there are a ton of places to visit for everyone, rather its hiking, canoeing, shopping, or any number of other things.
Great find and very reasonably priced. The photos on website don’t do it justice. Cabins were well maintained and well appointed. Great location and the grounds were great too. And pet friendly! We will come back!

Great deal cozy cabin good bed and a. Singing donkey next door. They recently remodeled and winterized most of their cabins.
The owners are absolutely wonderful people the cabin was beautiful he was extremely helpful with finding places to eat and stuff to do. Went up for my boyfriends birthday and I can say we will be back every year

Owners are very welcoming and entire place is so charming. Nice basic cabins with comfortable beds and great extras--a fire pit, DVD rentals, playground, picnic tables, etc. A great place to stop and relax.
You wont be disappointed!!! Glen is downright fantastic!!! Theyre in the process of remodeling every cabin and they look great. New paved driveway around the property and a brand new monstrous swing/playset for the kids. They also have 2 big firepits set up ready to enjoy that special family time at night. Awesome hiking trails and fishing nearby. Great spot for a basecamp to hit all Adirondack attractions. I cant say enough about Glen!!! (I didnt have the chance to meet his brother Randy) Me and my cousin spent hours talking to Glen about everything!!! What a pleasure coming across someone who made the time in his busy schedule to talk. Give these guys a call....you wont regret it!!!
We stayed tues- fri this week AMAZING, SPOTLESS,BEAUTIFUL CABIN !!! I wish we could stay longer but have to work.such a AWESOME vacation ty so much!!!! Cant wait to get back!!! First time in schroon lake loved it and love rowes cabins , the cabins were so clean and I really enjoyed the fire pit and night , the new owners are great keep up the good work
Updated slightly, mostly clean, and definitely decent accommodation. Could use better pillows, cleaning under beds (dust is rampent) and the beds may be a little worn.
Love this place! Randy is a great host and constantly upgrading the cabins. Our third annual trip here.

Went up to Schroon to visit some friends and was looking for a hotel and Rowes cabins looked the best and it was awesome the rooms were clean and they had grills and yard games me and the family loved it!
Love this place went here when I was a kid what a major difference what the new owner and his family has done the cabins renovated and beautiful inside and out , I will defiantly be coming back

2022-06-21Fun story about Rowes! Our car broke down driving from the High Peaks region. We called a shop in town and talked to to a nice lad named Nick who said they could get us in to take a look. Long story short - Nicks family owns Rowes cabins and they were good folks!The cabin was adorable and beautifully renovated. We thoroughly enjoyed their sweet lawn game setup as well: Were talking spike ball, ladder golf, horseshoes, Cornhole. They even had a disc golf basket to practice putting!Each cabin had its own lovely picnic bench area with a charcoal grill and some Adirondack chairs outside. Just enough room to engage with the neighbors if youre interested or not if you arent :)When the morning came, Randy (owner) recognizing our unique stranded situation, let us know we could stay in our room past checkout as we waited for our car to finish being repaired. He also offered to drive us to the shop when we got the call. Last thing about Randy: When we first got there, he offered or us to join him for homemade sauce and pasta. Ha!All in all: We would stay nowhere else in Schroon Lake!

2021-12-30It was very cozy. The only thing missing was a fireplace or wood stove. The only complaint I have was there was quite a bit of dog hair on the carpet. My son laid on the floor and when he got up he had hairs on his black shirt. Be sure to take plates, cups, cooking ware, and all other kitchen stuff includi utensils. I guess its due to covid. All in all it was a very comfortable place

2021-08-19My sisters and extended family recently spent a week at Rowes. If I could give them tens stars, I would! The owners went out of their way to make our stay more than what we expected, and provided excellent service. We enjoyed two fire pits with seating, (wood was provided!), barbeque grills, kids play area, games, and beautifully landscaped grounds. The cabins were quaint and clean, with many new features. The Schroon public beach was near-by, as were many other attractions. Did I mention that Rowes is pet friendly? Did I mention how kind and accommodating the owners are?? Our family will definitely return to this relaxing, stress-free Adirondack experience.

2021-09-29Our family came together for a Celebration of Life and although it was a sad time, coming together at the cabins was a wonderful way to end our days. The cabins ware wonderful, clean and well appointed. They are close to so many amenities and tons of things to do.We were so happy with our stay that we decided to gather together at a future date and rent several for our family get together.

2021-04-25Stayed 2 nights in April, 2021. The check-in was easy, the cabin was modern and clean and warm (it snowed while I was there, went down to 24 at Cabins. And private. The bed was comfortable (nice pillows), the kitchen was big, new appliances. Good water pressure. Nice big yard behind the cabins.

2020-08-25We spent 4 nights in Cabin #2 and had a relaxing time. The rustic cabin was a good size with a separate kitchen room and had been partially updated to include smart TV, LVT flooring and knotty pine walls. Lovely Adirondack decor and the bed and linens were very comfortable. Lots of quiet reading spots on the grounds too. The owner even shared fresh produce from his garden for any renters who were interested! Cabins are 2 minutes in the car to the public beach and boat launch. (Would be 5 stars, but the wifi is very weak causing the TV to buffer a bit. We used our phones for any internet needs, though.)

2020-09-13What a wonderful weekend! My mother, daughter and I had so much fun. The owner was extremely accommodating, starting a fire in the evening for us and answering any questions we had. The cottage was cozy and the two queen beds were comfortable with a nice size fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The location is 2 minutes from town where you could do some shopping at the local town store, get coffee and yummy food at the 9 Mile Coffee shop and visit the beach. We enjoyed visiting the neighbors donkey named Rocket and feeding him clovers. The playground, located right on the property, was a major hit with my daughter and offered hours of entertainment while my mother and I played cornhole they provided and relaxed in their beautiful Adirondack chairs.

2020-07-19My husband and I rented a cabin for the second consecutive year this year and we couldn’t be happier with our stay. The owner is incredibly friendly and goes out of his way to make your visit a good one. We brought kayaks and he offered to pick us up at the docks at the lake if we wanted to drive up the river and kayak down. He provides firewood and games like corn hole for a great time when you aren’t hiking or exploring. We can’t wait to come again!

2021-06-21In are 4th or 5th visit. I cannot stress how nice this Place is. Perfect location right on the outskirts of town. Close to restaurants swimming. The lake. and Towns surrounding schroonLake. The cabins are absolutely adorable. Extremely clean. Decorated beautifully. are extremely reasonable. Add to the fact there are 2 fire pits, some play area for the children, games, movies, bbqs I just cant say enough about this place. Already planning our next trip to rowes. Icing on the cake is the donkey rocket. What a character. Be sure to bring him donuts and watch what happens

2019-10-21The owner, Randy, was very nice. The cabin we stayed in was nice and cozy. Clean as well. Loved the outdoor fire pits. The whole experience was great and cant wait to get back next year. The neighbors donkey, Rocket, added some well timed amusement as well. Highly recommended.
