Highly recommend Rowland street Garage. They are very friendly and professional. The work is great and done on time. I have been going here for years and use them for things from tires to inspection to tie rods to custom exhaust. They have done many things for my cars to keep my family safe. They keep us updated as they go. I don’t bring my car anywhere else.
Larry was awesome, helped me get my car in no time! The shop took care of the couple minor things the car needed, and its in fantastic condition. Great price on my 2010 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport.Update 7-12-19: There was a few issues with the car, things that couldnt be found until it was driven daily. Brian took care of everything, at no cost to me. Fantastic turn around time, everything fixed and taken care of. 100% would return and will be for future repairs and next vehicle purchase.
I’ve been using Rowland St Garage for more than 20 yrs, we bring all of our cars to them. Always professional and friendly. Needed a failed bearing removed from a snowmobile wheel that I could not remove. Bryan was great, took care of it for me right away. GREAT customer service.

I recently bought a used Vehicle from Rowland street garage , Larry was very quick to get me on the road the same day as purchase !!! After a couple weeks of owning the car , I noticed a few minor issues , I brought back to have them take a look at what was going on . Brian and his team worked very quick to isolate the problems and make the necessary repairs at no cost to get me back on the road . So for anyone looking for a quality used vehicle I would highly recommend checking out thier lot , they have a great selection and charge very reasonable prices !!

Bought used vehicle from Rowlands Street and had issues first week of ownership and there was no antifreeze in it. Even though it kept having the same issue every winter with the antifreeze, they would not own up to the lemon sold to us. Finally the engine blew, but still no responsibility on their part. $$$$ beware😠Coolant issue came back every winter. Considering it was sold without any in it and I had to call from Tennessee because it shut down, I should have realized right then to return it.But like others I read, the problem was resolved when brought in on several occasions until the warranty ran out.

Rowland St. Garage has been my service center for 10+ years. The quality work, and the great customer service sets then apart. I was in the other day for an inspection at 8am. Turns out I was in pretty desperate need for new tires, but I had a 4 hour drive that I needed to leave for at 11:30. Brian was able to get new tires in from Albany, get them mounted and balanced and finish the inspection by 11:15. That was incredible when (before he knew I had to travel) Brian told me he could do it the next day. Brian bent over backwards to help me out. I feel like this is normal business for this team. I only trust Rowland St Garage with my cars.

My friend Chris Carr told me about Rowland Street Garage and how he trusted them. I am really glad he did. Ive been disappointed by service departments and wanted to find one that l could trust. Now l finally have. When l first spoke to Brian at the service counter l could tell by his greeting that l would feel at ease here. I needed back brakes on my Silverado. I was told that on a Thursday and he fit me in for Saturday morning. I figured the job would cost so much more than it did. This shop is great! My family and I have been bringing our vehicles to Rowland Street Garage for the past 20-30+ years. Throughout that time I have never once had a bad experience. Their employees are knowledgeable, courteous, and honest. The service has always been quality and on time. They have fair prices and do their best to accommodate your schedule/wallet. They really do put the customer first. I wouldn’t bring my vehicle anywhere else...Highly recommend these guys!
I contacted them to discuss installing a Rough Country lift + wheels and tires. I spoke with Brian, and he was not only very knowledgable but also very helpful and enthusiastic about the project (my vehicle is not a common lift here in the area). Project went perfectly smooth, price was less than what I was expecting, and I gotta say, Im MORE than pleased with the resulting look and ride! They were also quick to get me back in to check everything over and they resolved a tiny issue for me then. Highly recommend!

This garage has given me the best experience I’ve ever had in terms of having repairs done to my car. The staff was very understanding and helpful and we’re able to work with my budget and still help make my vehicle safer. I would recommend this garage to any and everyone who doesn’t have an abundance of money to dump into a car all at once. They didn’t take advantage of me and have definitely given me a sense of security with my vehicle again. I was given accurate prices and wasn’t “surprised” by any last minute charges or unwanted repairs. Keep your business local and come here!
Rowland Street Garage has worked on our cars for years but recently they went above and beyond what any other garage would do for a customer! I purchased a used car a couple years ago that has been a complete lemon and RSG has nursed me through multiple repairs until finally the engine blew. Brian, the general manager, has helped me through everything and also helped us to purchase a replacement used vehicle. If you live in the Capital Region, dont go anywhere except RSG for all your car repair needs!
Very pleased with the service that I had performed on both my vehicles recently at Rowland Street Garage. One vehicle needed a bit of work to get up to par for inspection, Brian was great with communicating what was needed, turned around the repairs quickly, and came right in at the original estimate. Other vehicle was just an oil change, but again was done in a timely manner. Have been looking for a go to mechanic and definitely found one.

Ive been taking my cars to Rowland Street Garage for service for 25 years. Bill and Fred always treated me fairly, honestly, and respectfully. Now with the next generation running the show, I get treated just as fairly, honestly, and respectfully...again. Twenty five years!I have always been very satisfied. Maybe not always pleased with the money I had to fork over to have well qualified mechanics nurse my old vehicles and keep them running. But hey, thats life, fair is fair. Everyone gets to put their own spin on their story and mine emanates from approximately ten different cars over the 25 years.Their lot is always full with customers cars waiting for repairs...always! A couple years back they had to nearly double their space, bays, and staff. I always recommend Rowland Street Garage when asked about auto repair.I find them so reputable that I recently decided to purchase a vehicle from their little sales lot. They promptly addressed an issue that I brought up after my test drive. I went through with the purchase and the car has been fantastic. Need a used vehicle that the seller will stand behind? They were great! They did a great job and gave me a great deal and didnt try to rip me off like Mavis down the street. I came in for an inspection at Mavis and they failed me because I wouldnt get the 700 in BS repairs I didnt need. I came to Rowland and after spending less than $175 which included the inspection I was out the door. Great guys, go here if you want honesty and good work!

My experience was mostly horrible. The quality of the work was excellent and the price was fair. HOWEVER, the customer service from the girl with the claws was less than stellar. She was rude and arrogant. And when I realized that a portion of the work was under warranty she got worse. Any place else would have made the adjustment. I handed her over $1350 and was appalled at how I was treated. Don’t go here if you are going to have to deal with her.
The best garage in the region! Very efficient and professional services. We are from Canada and we were stucked on the thruway with a broken travel trailer, unable to bring it home. All RV dealers or mobile RV service from Wilton to Albany refused to help us: we were not their customers! But Rowland Street Garage gave us an appointment and they did everything in their power to help us and did the repair at our great satisfaction! Thanks to Brian and all the friendly staff at Rowland’s. I recommend sincerely!

My transmission went, previous shop was an unprofessional pain (because they had to deal with a warranty company) But Rowland st did it, no question or complaints about it. Warranty company is slow, but as soon as things were in motion the shop here moved fast and had it ready to go in like 24 hoursHIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR TRANSMISSION WORK!!!

I have bought two cars from Rowland Street garage. Before I bought them they serviced my Hyundai accent and BMW X5 with skill and expertise. So when it came time for me to buy a new car I looked at Rowland and two other places. The two other locations charged me an extra $4000 for cars that had multiple issues and seemed like they would barely make it off the lot.The car I bought from Rowland Street Garage ran dependably for 75k miles. I decided I wanted something with better fuel economy after that and so I sold it and purchased my next vehicle from Rowland Street Garage.It is not easy to form a trusting relationship with a garage, but this is a place where it is possible and worthwhile. My “new” car is running superbly and RSG has given me advice on how to treat it to make it last for years.Rowland Street Garage changes my oil, they do my tires, my brakes, they flush my fluids and towed my BMW to the shop when the alternator went. I go to them whenever I have a question or concern. They are busy because they are popular, but they are also fair. If you make an appointment and arrive when they open they always get you some kind of answer on the same day and, if they don’t have to wait for parts, they usually solve your issue same day. Jennifer at the front desk is super friendly and helpful and Brian and Kevin always diagnose issues correctly and expedite solutions. They explain cost breakdowns and have pushed me towards better deals when there is one to be had. They are a fixture of the community, not another brand name shop looking to maximize profit at the expense of customer satisfaction. I trust them implicitly because they know I will be coming back for years to come.
Recently, I needed to mount snow tires on a new set of wheels. Brian guided me through the process and I found that they offered a really great set at a very reasonable price. We took my daughters car to Rowland Street, the mechanics worked on it daily for six days, and never gave up or let me give up on the car. Brian kept me updated on where we stood daily. And even when I was ready to completely give up on the care he held out hope they could fix it. And today he called and said come pick it up. Being that they worked on it for six days I expected the bill to be huge. But they care about their customers enough to help me out with the cost. You dont find caring people like them very often I would recommend them to everyone that needs a trustworthy mechanic that doesnt ripe you off.
Bought used vehicle last October...had many issues almost immediately with vehicle.Oil leaking..bad ground on alternator.Every time we brought car back with issues we started getting a song and dance by Brian about making good on his word that if we had issues upon delivery that they would take care of it. Although they may be a good auto repair service proceed with caution with these people when it comes to buying a used vehicle from them.
Rowland Street Garage is a very trustworthy shop. They saved us alot of money over the car dealerships quotes for repairs to our van. They are the most honest mechanics Ive ever met. They take the time to talk with you, diagnose your problem and come up with how to fix your vehicle. I used to be a person who would go to the car dealership but not anymore, Rowland Street is my go to for my car repairs and oil changes. They really go out of the way to help a person. I highly recommend them.

I was very hesitant about going to a small business to fix my truck.... a friend recommended me to Rowland St and I am so glad they did. Best experience ever!! They treated me with the up most respect and made me feel like family. The price was sooooo much less then other quotes. My transmission went on my Subaru Outback and I was quoted a price of over $8,000 to fix it at the dealership. I contacted Rowland St. Garage and they repaired my transmission for half that price! They did an amazing job on the vehicle repair and the service was awesome! I even had an unfortunate experience where some quarters in my car went missing during the time that the vehicle was in the shop and Rowland Street made good on the missing funds and reimbursed me. I have to give this service shop a 5 star rating for their honestly and hard work! Go to Rowland Street!
Have you ever been to Rowland Street Garage previously but was told Im at brother-in-law and sister that they did excellent work. Had an emergency on Saturday that my car was towed to their facility. They were excellent and fast with diagnosis of the issue and very accommodating to me. Very dependable reliable and reasonable. Worked with Brian to have a complete suspension upgrade on my 2013 F150.Rough country 4” lift with all new upper and lower control arms. Truck feels like a new truck and the look is out of this world. These guys are my go to for my truck for now on. Professional, courteous and on point with everything!

First time at this shop. Excellent customer service. Had major repair done and it came with a 2 year warranty. Great first experience. Here is an update about one year later: been back 5-6 times for high quality repairs. Not Cheap, but really good workmanship.

Their employees are courteous, kind and knowledgeable. They will take the time to explain what the problem is in detail and will give you a cost estimate to fix it. I needed new tires recently and Brian recommended a set of all-season Continentals. I had always used snow tires, but took Brians professional opinion and have been extremely satisfied with the traction and grip in all types of wet & winter conditions. I have been dealing with Rowland Street Garage for many years. They have serviced most of the cars we have sold and the quality of the work is amazing. In addition, the staff is always gracious and appreciative of our business. They also do their absolute best to get you in promptly and the prices are the most competitive anywhere. My friend just had his transmission break on his 2006 Silverado pick-up. It was a no-brainer to send him to see Brian. They fixed it at a fraction of the price he was quoted at another shop. Bought a car here about 6 months ago and I regret wasting my time and money. I was assured the car I bought was a great condition. It was not. First the wipers would get stuck on the side of my car while running causing them to jam on the highway, big safety hazard in upstate NY during the winter. They did fix the wipers, replaced the motor mechanism, while my car was under warranty. But they continued to get stuck soon after my warranty ended. I had to have them repaired at another mechanic, who changed the wiper blades. They continued to get stuck and now Im waiting on new arms to hold the wiper blades. Second my car took a while to start in very cold weather. I took it in 3 times to get looked at by the Rowland mechanics. The first 2 times were during my warranty they couldnt find anything wrong with the car whatsoever. I wasnt charged for either appointment. The third time I took it in for hard starts was about a week after my warranty ended. Magically they discovered my car needed new spark plugs and an ignition coil. More than a little suspicious to me. Shortly after the brakes started squealing. Done with Rowland I went to my usual mechanic, in 3 months of driving the car I had worn through the brake pads my car came with. Lastly with it warming up Ive tired to use the air conditioner which also doesnt work and needs a new compressor. I paid 5k for a car that needed 1.5k in repairs. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

A few weeks ago I spoke with a local reputable garage about some issues I was having engaging first gear. I took my car in and the recommended a 1700 total replacement of my clutch kit - press plate fly wheel etc. this was very discouraging because I had already had this repair done with this garage. I called Rowland street for a second opinion and spoke with Greg. At this point I had little hope but Rowland had saved me from a full muffler repair in the past with a quality welding fix. Greg asked a few questions about what was going on and I have him the details about how the garage was going to handle it. Literally the gentlemen that answers the phones and works with the customers knew more then the master mechanic I was quoted by. Greg said to bring it on because he could think of a few things to check before going through will a total replacement. I felt a little encouraged little did I k ow my mind was about to be blown. Greg himself found another quick welding fix for my clutch that we bent which he claimed on the phone would save me 1500 I was so relieved but skeptical. I gave Greg the green light and he called me the next day. It was done he said. So here I am a huge fan of Greg and the garage that did right by me. I told Greg you have a fan and Ill be back!! Please if you are at all torn on where to go dont risk it - bring it in to Greg at Rowland street garage you will feel good about your decision.
Ive taken two cars to Rowland (one of which needed a ton of attention) and Ive always been happy with their work. If something isnt quite where you need it to be, they make it right as soon as possible, and Ive never felt like their pricing was unfair
Had a great experience here recently, was searching for a garage that could put a lift on my Jeep, called them up and dealt with Brian - he was great to work with and obviously experienced with lift kits - pricing was very reasonable and he was really flexible with my requests and timing - ended up doing the lift plus a tire and wheel package - Jeep turned out awesome and he worked with me on a few last minute changes, really one of the better customer service experiences I’ve had in years - will definitely use these guys in the future ! Can’t for the life of me figure out how to get a picture added to the post but will add if I can figure it out !
So I had the unfortunate lack of having a locking Gas cap that absolutely refuse to come off. Myself and three other people tried to remove it for HOURS with no luck. With my gas light on and panicking because I was unable to put gas in my truck, I Came here. They had it off within two minutes. Exceptionally kind, professional, extremely clean lobby and courteous service. I am indebted to them. And would happily send anybody I know here for service. Thank you Rowland Street Garage!!!!
Did a great job, although I took one star off because no one called me to update me on my repair, I always had to call and check. They have a key drop off box which is convenient for leaving your car there. Will be getting more work done here.

Early Saturday morning on my way home from work my Subaru wouldnt change from 2nd to 3rd gear. I had waited for 30 minutes at another garage that was supposed to be open and no one showed. I decided to drive over to Rowland in 2nd gear.Im thankful that Ken didnt show up at his shop. Rowland took me as an early morning walk in, immediately did a transmission service. Explained the issue and the price was fantastic.I live 40 minutes away, but I intend to use this garage whenever possible.Edit: I just went back and purchased a used Subaru here through Larry.The process was painless and they work closely with a local credit union if you need help with a loan.So far Im very happy with my purchase.
The transmission went on my husbands truck and it also needed lots of other repairs. The costumer service was the best I’ve ever had a garage. They came and towed it for us and kept us updated the whole time and answered every annoying question I had. We picked up and it’s like a new truck. Highly recommended!!!
I have been going to Rowland street with my cars since I got my first car in high school. I am 36 now and still to this day will take my cars here. The customer service here is like no other. Jennifer at the front desk is always so nice and so accommodating to work with my schedule. She is very detail oriented. Brian and Gregg do excellent work and I never feel like they are just trying to squeeze money from me. They always check in with me and give me honest feedback of necessities vs things that can hold off a bit. I have taken my car other places when I am in a pinch and always end up coming back to Rowland Street Garage

Weve been taking our cars to Rowland St. for many years and have had work done ranging from oil changes to a new transmission. Theyve been upfront as to what work needed to be done and what the cost would be, and have also been more than willing to advise us when something could wait or didnt need to be addressed at all. Called in afternoon to see if my auto concern could be looked at (just for me to get a feel about the importance). They made it happen... even took a neighborhood drive. We scheduled a drop off the next day. Mid afternoon the next day... problem resolved... and their diagnosis was on spot. Drives like a dream...fair cost to fix.
I used Rowland st garage for everything I didnt have the time or tools to fix myself. They always do great work and have excellent service. Yesterday my brakes went out the day before I was scheduled to move across the country for a military transfer. I brought my truck in at 4pm and they had my brakes fixed at 11am the next day. I was still able to leave on time. Youll have a tough time finding a better garage in Saratoga

Recently picked up my 2003 Toyota Tundra for some work on a leaking rear differential cover (an inherent problem with Toyota trucks) and couldn’t be happier with the repair. Techs had to be convinced to give a new procedure a try on my vehicle but we were both very happy with the result. Cost was significantly less than replacing the rear axle – one of the only other options. I had my first experience with the garage today I dealt with Greg as my salesman and I couldnt say enough about how quick they got me in and out even though it was just an oil change. They even did a multi point inspection of the vehicle during the time I was there. Very quick, clean professional atmosphere.
I brought my 2003 Hyundai Elantra to about every garage in Ballston Spa, until I heard of Rowland street Garage, I had all sorts of eletrical problems going on with my car and no one could seem to figure it out anywhere else, that was until the mechanic at Rowland street. Within a very short wait I was able to drive my car again with the A.c. working windows would finally work again, and my headlights, the radio, I thought my car was done for. After all was fixed I receive the bill and its was very very! reasonable, i couldnt believe it, I Highly recommend taking your car no where but here theyre great couldnt ask for a better local garage keep up the great work Rowland Street Garage

Trust me when I tell you these guys know ALL the ins/outs and will save you thousands in the long run.From start to finish Rowland Street Garage provide me with Class A service, fixed the issue the first time, and most importantly SAVED ME $5,000 New Country Ford tried to charge me due to their lack of thoroughness, experience, and knowledge.I brought my truck to an auto repair facility (I won’t mention) to get a transmission service done bc they were close to where I work and it was convenient. The next day I pick up my truck making this ridiculous noise, skipping gears, and was told to “call the dealership that sold you this truck, looks like you got a lemon. I can replace it for you but this transmission with labor cost $2,500- $3,500 to replace.Now, I just drove the truck across the county, 4,000 miles, with NO ISSUES and the truck drove great until the transmission service. Obviously, they missed something, so I bring the truck to New County Ford figuring these guys specialize in Ford, their techs look at these all day, and would be able to at least tell me what the issue is but that was NOT THE CASE.New Country Ford charged me $600.00 to flush the transmission then returned the truck even worse. When I told them they made it worse, they stated and I quote “we will bring it back in tomorrow and see what’s going on”. I go there the next day, get a bill for another $160.00 and are told “you need a rebuild kit or a new transmission that will cost $3,500 to $5,500 let me know what you want to do”.After getting screwed over by two places my immediate thought was, 3’s a charm…. I had my truck towed to Rowland Street Garage on a Sunday, get a call by noon on Monday, the WRONG TRANSMISSION FILTER WAS INSTALLED, we put the correct filter in, come pick it up.The employee’s at Rowland Street Garage put the CORRECT transmission filter in the truck, explained to me in detail what the issue was, and now it’s running PERFECT again!!! They literally saved me $3,000-$5,000 and were great to deal with.My advice to whomever reads this is- If you’re calling around comparing prices for a particular auto repair service and Rowland Street Garage has the higher price for whatever reason (they were actual the cheapest out of 3 companies I priced out). I just bought a 2008 trailblazer from them, they went over it and fixed a few things that were in need of repair without any problems. I got a good price on it and was very impressed with their sales and repair staff, they have been around for about 40 years or so and have like 10 bays with as many mechanics. They made the whole vehicle buying process plesent not painfull or stupid. They are definitely a top notch place to buy or have repair work done.

Limped my explorer in yesterday at 1:00. Brian said no problem we’ll figured it out. He called me yesterday afternoon with what it was (much better than I was anticipating). He also said “hey, this other thing may turn out to be an issue if you leave it alone”. I told him to get it right.Got the call from Jen this afternoon that it was all set. Purchased a vehicle from these guys. The vehicle is great they took our other vehcile in on a trade in which was great. Never had a problem with them. We get all our vehicles serviced there. Any issue we have had they take care of it for us right away.

After making an appt at another location for 10am I arrived to find out I had to wait 2-3 hours to get my vehicle inspected. So being that my inspection was up today I frantically had to call around well thanks to you guys u got me in and everything was done within 30 mins and I was on my way. They destroyed my car and would not make right on it. Brought it in for a transmission flush. They never fill the transmission with transmission fluid. They fried the transmission. They would not replace the transmission. Very grimy Owners. Stay away from this chop Shop!!

2022-02-25I worked with Brian in the service department and he was extremely helpful in determining the issue with the check engine light on in my vehicle. Ran the diagnostics and determined the issue and fixed the problem immediately. I would definitely recommend Rowland Street Garage for service and auto sales. Communication while the vehicle was in the shop was tremendous and they kept me informed on all issues they found...and corrected them. I will recommend them to all friends and family that are looking for local auto service for their vehicles.

A friend suggested Rowland street garage and from my first experience I knew I was in good hands. They were so friendly and didn’t make me feel like I was bothering them with questions etc. They truly went above and beyond to help and get the job done. 2022-03-11Today was my first time at Rowland Street Garage, I took my car because there was rusting and corrosion inside the driver’s side door. The mechanics of the window had been affected. They fixed my problem within an hour! The price was just incredible! I had taken the car to the dealer and they were going to completely replace all that was affected. Rowland Street Garage saved me over $1,000.00! I will now be a loyal customer! Never looking back!

2022-05-28They installed a weight distribution hitch for our new trailer. An RV place told us it wouldnt work! They got it on and set up properly and gave us demo on how to set it up.
