Its a very nice park its open to all people and a large fields for all activities
Its a nice park. They have city park employees who dont really seem to know what theyre doing. Large bodies of water around in the grassy area (def bigger then a puddle). There was no one directing people, just hey try not to drive on the grass but that was all.
Clean park with loads of space to run, picnic, play outdoor sports and spectate too!

Sunday Funday walking in the park with my dogs for the first time. Family has lived here since the 70’s and I am today old visiting. Amazing. Found beautiful trails but it’s beauty markedly diminished by the garbage. Leave no trace!!!? We need to keep our parks clean.
The rec center has a pool, Black Spectrum theatre Co makes this their home, the tennis courts are underused, the rifles and riflettes have home advantage inside the track, which has been used by queens own Olympic track gold medalist, so if theres a park in southeast queens, home to racquetball and basketball, this is it.
Its very clean with professionally manicured lawns.Also very spacious and airy with plenty of room for all types of exercise and games..I will recommend the park to my friends and family.
Very good i just went to help out with a event to help set up with the food and it was very fun should definitely check out events like this in the future here at roy wilkins park :)

Very socially friendly folks of all ages, sizes and color: the running track is so beautifully laid out i had to have a walk around. As a Senior Citizen i was hardly noticed, so you know you werent in the wrong park.

Its a nice sized park but their restroom needs to be cleaned and stocked with tissue. Plus have some porta potties throughout the park
Roy Wilkins Park is the premiere athletic facility in south east queens. Many world class athletes have honed their athletic abilities on these grounds. The park hosts quite a number of athletic events year round that include track and field, football, soccer to name a few. Also from time to time you’ll be able to attend numerous live music events as we know that the neighboring St. Albans/Addisleigh Park community was the home of numerous famous musicians, entertainers, artists and actors.Come to Roy Wilkins Park and you’ll also experience the urban farming co-operative that is locally run. I think they did s great job with the renovation. My daughter and I had a great time playing there. The track was great for teaching my daughter to ride her bike. She learned fast from the even surface. I truly recommend the park to all adults and kids.

Parking limited, bathrooms were poorly maintained, bring your own food, chairs & tents. Beautiful track & field, park is very big.
Great venue for concerts.However, the park staff should police the garbage receptacle better. Theres not enough. And the one that are there were packed and over flowing. They should be emptied during the event. Then the people wouldnt be throwing their garbage all over park grounds.
One of queens nyc most famous parks from its famous name to the big events like concerts, the soul circus west Indian food fairs you name it.this is a legendary park truly a landmark and fixture right on Merrick blvd.You cant forget about one of the parks main attraction the jogging track ,that attracts droves of people to this location.you also have a free parking lot there as well. The park is a clean park .dont forget about its foot ball field ,basketball court.They also have rest rooms on the premises.i love riding my bike up to roy wilkins park, it never gets old ,one day I would like to take my newborn son this cool park.
Park is nice. Its clean. Its a heavily used park but athletes and families. Weeds are a little over grown on the some of the benches. The ladies bathroom only has 1 half roll of toilet paper in the entire bathroom. Some of the stalls do not lock. This makes me think its a safety concern for girls or women using the facilities.

Havent been here for years. Renovations of track are beautiful and it seems bigger. Lines for lanes are distinct. Many people were out w/o a mask. Family bbqing on the grassy area. Dudes smoking lau in the stands.
I love park, but if you are visiting here make sure you have actives planned and to make the experience better, take a friend.4 stars because its just not 5 out of 5. It could be better.Of course the convenience is great. The buses that passes here is the Q5, Q84, Q85If you like the outdoors youll like it there. Go have fun. When winter is gone of course. =D Have fun
This park is a nice place to run around the track a few times, you can kick a ball with your kids or grandkids. I will return to this park many more times.
The field is nice. The bathrooms are horrible. Even first thing when opened, you wonder when was the last time Maintenance cleaned them. UGH......
Great resource for the community with a rich history. Roy Wilkins was a leader of the NAACP and organized black communities across America. His hometown, St. Albans, came together in his honor and took over abandoned land and made it into the park we see today. Great way to honor his legacy.
Roy wilkens park is a staple of souteast Jamaica Queens. The park normally has several full basketball courts, indoor/ outdoor tennis courts. The track/field is the jewel of the outdoor portion of the park. It is well kept and clean. Being at Roy Wilkens park feels like being at the neighborhood family gathering place of southeast Queens.
Bathrooms were disgusting, only working sink was in the handicapped stall, it had no soap or paper towels. Most stalls didnt close completely and also didnt have toilet paper

I appreciate that its open 24 hrs so you can get access to the track..The only downfall that theres no lighting over the track at that time in the morning. I recommend wearing a reflective vest sor clothing
In a sea of traffic, buzz, movement and the commotion of Queens, this park is a calm oasis.I have been to a few Reggae shows here, and feel so secured, safe and comfortable.Thankfully, the Vip section allows you to Park inside, otherwise, outdoor parking will be a struggle.But, the police do a good job!

Decent. For what was spent the bleachers are rusting.The bathrooms are disgusting and the garbage cans were overflowing. If they fix those issues then the park would be amazing. All day at track meets and having to deal with those bathrooms.
Perfect place near home to go walking. Safe because of all the people there.

I Work out in the mornings at Roy Wilkins Park. Pros: there is a nice path to jog or walk. Places the barbecue and spend time with family and friends. There is a large lake that is in the middle of the park where I would she people feed birds and fish or just read. Cons: I would see trash dumped in areas of the park which takes away from the scenery.
Awesome park to go to. Especially in the summer time. There is a basket ball court there. A huge field for the kids to run around and play as well as a plaground with swings and slides. They also have a little sprinkers there to help keep children cool while playing in the hot 🌞There is always some sort of activity going on there. From live celebrity performances, free concerts and the universoul circus. Great place to bring your family and hang out. Check ahead to see if there is an event happening
Great place to run. The track is in good condition. Parking can be a bit cramped if theres a soccer game.

Some areas of the park are under construction but the jogging trail is fun. Equipment available to aid in light exercise resistance. Peaceful atmosphere to just sit and muse.
The bathroom opens late and close early. The womens bathroom is being cleaned last(unfair). The bathrooms should be cleaned earlier out the day not when people entering the park. This is increased delays to opening bathrooms because one is being cleaned the other is closed until cleaning. The management could focus on these areas. Please provide toilet tissue.

Its a good place thier pool is closed but ik from past experiences its cool a little bit on the cold side the family swim is only on Wednesday btw and the parks a cool its a normal park sprinklers slides swings its not the cleanest but its not extremly dirty there isnt much litter on the ground and the recreation center is extemly helpful for any circumstance like bathroom or questions or cuts and bruises.
Great. Lake appears unserviced and dirty. Walk way is clear, two playgrounds, serveral basketball courts and tennis courts. A new renovated running track and basketball field. Recreational center has a basketball court, swimming pool and gym. Extra rooms that can be rented out for parties. A parking lot on baisley blvd side and another on Merrick blvd side.
Easy Walking. Nice exercise stations through out. Even wheel chair users can benefit.
The park is nice for family n friends. We could not used the track because it has been under construction for the last two summers. We the community, has not been able to walk around the track, see the young people make use of the track, football n soccer field. Last year n this year the community was deprived of the used of the total park. Footbal players had to practice on the grass lawn in another area of the park. PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE TO COMPLETE THE CONSTRUCION OF OUR PARK, SO WE MAKE USE OF THIS BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF LAND IT. TKS.
This park is packed during the summer afternoons. Has a track and a spacious field.. Also restrooms.
Love this park. I come here all the time to play tennis or to just walk around the track. They do have concerts here every once in a while and the fair comes once a year.
So nice to do my walking on a rubberized track. The spotlights are awesome they bring a feeling of safety to the environment.
The grass is never green. The upkeep at this park is horrible. They need to do some major revamping. There is a pond toward 119th street but you cant see it because the growth of the plants is just horrible and obstructs the view. Overall not really my go to park

Ive been coming to Roy Wilkins Park for many years its a great place for exercise and basketball games four of the courts are recently redone every summer they hold the Groovin in the park concert which is a great event

Great SQ park for all ages to come to. I enjoyed it with my sister as she walked the track and I watched...lol. Fun tho.
What a place, in the heart of Jamaica come for the Grooving In The Park event in the summer, a West Indian cultural fair hosted by local restauranteurs. Hosted in the park this hidden gem of an event is a wonderful place to sample the food and culture of the various peoples of the West Indies. Curried goat, conch soup and sugar cane are just some of the treats on sale all supplemented by the awesome West Indian music preformed live throughout the 8+ hr festival.
Show was not good.needed a big screen tv in the middle of the park.next yr hopefully u will ave one ppl in d middle an d bac could not see on d stage wat was goin on.needed more artist way to short
It is a fantastic venue, equipped with 440 yard track, picnic area, sports fields and parking lots.

I love this park. My Children are here every summer. They do so much for the people in the community both children and adults. The membership to me was a bit pricy for what they offer but I still love it here.

Its a very nice park. You have a tracking field,football game. It also has a Recreation Center, restrooms and a garden. Have fun!!!
I went to walk and I decided to walk the track and the people asked my friend and I walk the outer track with cement because they was practicing.
It is nice over there I go there all the time the playground has a lot of activities and space for kids to have fun.
Cool clean did 5 laps on outside pathway. Fairly populated every one doing there exercises

Very big park. One of the more famous parks in nyc. Alot of events and concerts are held here. The circus that comes to queens is even setup here also.

Outdoor and inside activities, pool, track, weight room, community rooms, gym and much more. Part of the old Saint Albans Naval Hospital. When I was kid that area was old barracks.
Nice open area, the grass doesnt come too high, and not many problems except a lack in shaded areas when its truly sunny.

I think thats its a very nice place and there is a large amount of space there . The only complaint that I have is that , the garbage cans smelled really bad as if they didnt can get and clean the garbage cans.

This is mostly used for hosting the circus or concerts. There is no focal attraction but people do go there to run in the mornings.

2022-02-22The people in the park are nice for the most part , but youve a few people who come riding through the park with their motorcycle, like if this was their private race track and I mean they bring their motorcycle on to the running track and dont care . And some other people think they can do the same with their personal vehicles.

2021-12-23Nice outdoor park for exercising. Turf wa redone about two years ago. When there are no events, this is a gud place to go to avoid too much crowd but it also depends on the day and time you go there.
