Revise 7/23/19 the flight itself was pleasant, and the food was good. They also had a hotel ready for me upon arrival for my long layover. So i will upgrade them to a two star.7/22/19 This was a horrible experience. Our flight 201 was over 5 hours late to JFK, we were moved to 6 different gates (4 to 12, 12 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 5, 5 to 7). They offer no accommodations for their lack of service, and the crew kept making the same announcement that our flight was not at the gate and seemed to have a jolly blast steady announcing the bad new repeatedly.So the last time they up rooted us (time 6), we were told to then go sit back down. Tickets that we purchase are not by far cheap at $1000 + for horrible service. I can understand an occasional happening or maybe even two in this industry, but repeatedly in one flight that means someone dropped the ball. As well as the practice of gate moving is ridiculous, do not keep up rooting passengers, wait til the freaken plane is at the gate. Royal Air Maroc i will not use you again this was a horrible experience, worse than greyhound.
I had a wonderful travel experience with Royal Air Maroc. The flight was on time. The boarding process was swift. The food was actually really good and filling. I had a surprisingly yummy cheesecake for dessert. My breakfast meal wasnt as exciting but still hit the mark. The staff was courteous and make the flight pleasant.

Spent hours on the phone trying to manage to get back home. Had to spend more money on transportation and leave from a different city. Never responded to phone/emails. My mother in law was traveling to Morocco from New York. We traveled to this airport from Virginia as this was the only Airlines where we could find direct ticket there. When we arrived at the airport, we were told that we need COVID test in order to get on the plane. We didn’t get notified in any way that the test was required before the flight. When we asked help or explanation from their manager, he got rude and used some f words during the argument. I’m very displeased. The most amateur airline company in the world. We had another scandal when mother in law was traveling from Morocco to USA. The flight was planned to land in Virginia - Dulles. And my mother in law was informed that the plane will land in JFK - New York WHEN SHE ARRIVED AT THE AIRPORT. Never using this company again even if that means I have to travel all around the world with connected flights..
Dont use this airline. Like so many have already said, this airline has zero customer service. I called them to change my flight. They confirmed the change via email. Two days later, when I call to add a piece of luggage - which they cant do on the phone, btw - I am told my return flight has been cancelled and that I needed to buy a different ticket because, supposedly, my credit card rejected the transaction for the change fee. No one had bothered to inform me and, rather than revert to the initial reservation, I was left with a bill for an additional on way ticket.
First of all, this number at JFK is not in service. Secondly, if I could give them a negative 5 stars, I would. Been trying to contact them via phone (I get hung up on), email and twitter DM to change my flight over the past 48 hours and NO RESPONSE. This airline should no longer exist. Theyve taken thousands of peoples money with, what it clearly appears to be, absolutely no intention of reimbursement.
Do your self a favor and fly with a different airline. Very unprofessional with the worse customer service experience yet. They lost my luggage and left me with no update or any means to get updates. There are different numbers to call on their website. I called and was given the airport phone numbers that are invalid. Still havent gotten my luggage. Worse experience ever!!! Use this airline at your own detriment.
My first experience with Royal Air Morrocco and will be my last. 60% of pax did not get their bags. Flight was delayed for 2 hours, and no announcement was made. We were never updated and the pilots did not make one announcement. I asked the crew for a headset and was told that they offer it after take off. They did not offer any water till an hour into the delay. Customer service gets a 0.Let’s see if my bag ever makes it. Not acceptable!!
I wish I took the initiative to read these reviews before I flew with this joke of an airline. My two bags are nowhere to be found. My flight was canceled which resulted in me missing 2 more connecting flights and losing hundreds of dollars because the other domestic flights were with a different airline. The staff is honestly more useless than not even having a staff. I told one lady that I’m extremely disappointed in how my situation is being handled. She replied “well at least you learned a lesson”. I didn’t book with them to learn a lesson. I think I’ll just let an actual ape fly me places next time, it might be a better experience.
Absolutely unprofessional. Bought tickets through Chase rewards and a third party group and due to COVID19 crisis was redirected to customer service to ask for credit or refund because they would not issue refund to the third party groups. I was told by a rep that I shouldn’t have bought the tickets from third party and no refund would be issued and that the fault was on me.
Wish I can give a 0 star. I was supposed to fly from malabo to New York taking a connecting flight in Casablanca. Departure from Malabo to Casablanca was delayed so we missed the connecting flight to New York. We had to wait 9 hours for the next flight to New York. Next day arrived in new York but they lost my bag and no information is given to me from it untill now.Plus they have no customer service at all. For nothing, I buarded the planes without anyone from the crew being able to tell me the terminal and gate we were going to land. The person that was supposed to pick me at the airport had to find it out by himself.Ill definitely not recommend the airline.
First, when flying from or to Morocco anywhere else in Africa, they use these small old planes that cant even handle small luggage in the cabin, they force you to check it in just before you board the plane. Then they mishandle or lose it. Lost my small luggage in Casablanca, days ago and no word of its status. they also wrap luggage in plastic but dont tell their passengers which makes it harder to find the luggage. Lastly, They send you to a third party company to deal with lost luggage. Royal Air Morocco is very unprofessional.*Update*- 8/15/19 they brought back my luggage but ransacked it and stole the bread I packed in it.
The customer service is non-existent. I lost my bag on a flight departing from Morrocco. Its been over 2 months and there has been no response after opening numerous claims. No compensation and no reassurance that it has been looked for. Its not worth the stress that you will end up going through if your luggage gets lost. Every other airline usually finds and returns the luggage to you within 24-48 hours. They take at least 2-3 months to respond. Oh, and their automatic response to a lost luggage claim is that they will get to it within 30 days! In short, please do yourself a favor and DO NOT FLY THIS AIRLINE.
Royal Air Maroc is the most absurd airline Ive flown on. Thankfully, we got safely from point A to point B, but this airlines manner of handling their reservations is pathetic. You reserve a seat online and when you show up to the airport, they tell you there are no reservations and they separate your party on the plane. I traveled with two vegetarians that also reserved veg meals and when their seats were changed, the incompetent airline served the vegetarian meals to the reserved seats. And then they argued with us that we didnt reserve. You are better off taking a stop over in Madrid or Paris and flying on a competent airline. Royal Air Maroc should go out of business if they cant get their act together on these SIMPLE operational matters.
I had absolutely no problems on this flight. It was my first time flying with Royal Air Maroc. I flew January 1st 2016 and returned January 12th. The staff was friendly though I didnt ask for much. Check-in was easy. In fact I had returned home with a huge shopping bag full of breakables. They let me bring an extra carryon on with me. I booked a flight with them for the summer as well. I dont know maybe I caught them on a good day but returning home was no problem either.
I flew from Sao Paulo, Brazil to Tel Aviv, Israel via Casablanca, Morocco and it was the most terrible flight ever!When I arrived at Casablanca to catch my connecting flight the Royal Air Maroc staff were so slow in processing the passengers that we missed our connecting flights even though we kept telling the staff that time is limited. No one listened nor cared and it was a battle to get them to provide a hotel for us. Finally we were given a hotel room but we had to purchase a new flight even though it was their fault we had missed it!The next day and $320USD later I finally arrived at my destination and Royal Air Maroc had lost my luggage! I contacted them numerous times and all said they could do nothing to help me! In my bag was important life-saving medication and since I did not have access to it I was hospitalised and had to pay over $1000USD for the ambulance, hospital and emergency medication replacements.Days later my bag was finally found but it was utterly destroyed! The straps were broken, it was ripped and had a large hole in it! The bag was in tatters and no longer usable! There went another $400USD.It has now been seven months of constant calls, emails and facebook messages to which NONE never get a reply to. I have been waiting seven months for compensation for the missed flight, the medical expenses and the damaged bag, yet I have not even received an apology!A truly deplorable airline, a disgrace to Morocco and utter thieves.
I have flown Royal Air Maroc 10 times now from JFK to CMN and back to JFK and as long as your not a needey passenger you will have no problems. They provide you with everything you need - A blanket, headphones, Meals if your flights are long enough, tablets with great entertainment. If your rude to them dont expect anything positive to come from your trip. Be friends and understand the culture and you will have a great trip.I did not give them 5 stars because their e-mail and phone response is VERY slow.
Royal Air Maroc is a stunning example of how not to run an airline.Now we know why all the locals in Morocco never fly with Royal air Maroc. As the owner of our riad said, you only have to fly with them once to know why you will never fly with them again.The two positives from our experience were that the pilot was very competent (thankfully) and the plane was brand new. But thats where it ends.From completely unfriendly and unhelpful staff, to no plane showing up at the tar mac for our connection and the employees learning about the cancellation of the flight only when my husband showed them the flight status on his phone, to flights that were delayed multiple times, to our tickets being given away and being told by the staff, I dont see how that is my problem, to staff being more concerned with chit-chatting with each other and perusing their iPhones than assisting customers, Royal Air Maroc takes the cake for botched operation.Customer service, timeliness, accuracy, and reputation mean nothing to this airline. I have no idea how they have survived and stayed in business since 1957. Next time we fly to Morocco, well take a layover in Europe with a different airline to avoid the headache that is Royal Air Maroc.
Horrible service, plane was delayed, they kept us inside the plane for 6 extra hours, at first they refused to let us use the bathroom, if you use the call light they won’t answer it. They went around with water once during the delay, the staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. The pilot wouldn’t keep us updated, neither did the staff, no apologies. Don’t use this airline!!! Avoid at all cost!
Lost my luggage and yet to recover. No one I can talk to. I will not change my review til a human being call me and try to recover my luggage. One Day later, called again, I was told that the luggage not found and the information that was given was false. So the company true dishonest and false information was given and very rude staff. I will keep updating that post to let the world know the reality of the Air Maroc8/17/2015It is the seventh time that I called and I was told that my luggage is in Casablanca and they will be sending email to the airport there to confirm that the bag will be shipped. my wedding suit is there and I am already fed up.So Again this morning, I was told that an email will be send to Casablanca airport and I should be calling again tomorrow. Can you guess what tomorrow the answer will be ? I will continue to give update to this review.
After reading the reviews I was very nervous so I bought travel insurance but I didnt end up needing it. All and all the flight experience was average.Pros: Some of the best air plane food Ive had and they also give you wine. If you have a layover for 10hrs in Casablancha, they put you in a hotel which is pretty nice with vouchers for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and you can also leave to explore Casablanca for a day. Casablancha was beautiful I wish I had more time to explore Morocco. Even though it s Muslim city. I was able to explore by myself as a female and it wasnt a problem. I saw alot of tourists and even girls in mini skirt which surprised me. Men do tend to smile alot at you but I feel like Ive dealt with worse in NYC.Cons: I definitely recommend following that two hr rule when arriving at the airline especially if you are dealing with this airline. They changed my flight time an hour early when I was leaving and when I was coming back they took off half and hr early which means they closed boarding an hr early without any notification. Thank god I was already in my seat when I noticed this.The customer service wasnt the greatest for the airline. I dont think its the airlines fault though. After spending a day in casablancha touring, I realized that it might just be the culture of Morocco. They arent very service oriented and overall I didnt get a very welcoming vibe. Doesnt mean you cant ask for help, just know you will get a very lukewarm response even from the ones that are suppose to help you.Overall I would take this flight again. I would recommend buying travel insurance though because they dont have a very good luggage reimbursement policy.
My iPad was stolen on a flight from Casablanca to New York. Three times Royal Air Maroc told me that their promised compensation for my loss would be in my bank account within six weeks maximum. That failed to happen again and again and again. Since then they wont even answer my emails. DO NOT FLY THIS AIRLINE. They are not honest and care nothing for their customers.
I have been flying since I was an infant and I have never in my life encountered such rude, unprofessional and incompetent people. I had heard rumors Air Maroc was unreliable but this degree of idiocy is unparalleled. I was due to fly out of JFK on July 17 @ 830pm. After waiting in a line that didnt move for an hour I heard through the grapevine that the flight was cancelled but no information was given as to why. When we get to the counter the lady knows nothing and puts us on a flight July 18 @ 1PM. At 10AM on July 18 that flight is cancelled and they push to July 19 @ 3AM. At this point we are irate. They told us the July 17 flight never left Casablanca, meanwhile a friend of mine was on that flight and it arrived in NY. On July 18 a flight went out but they said only the people booked on that flight could go and if you wanted to pay $1000 to upgrade your seat you could go in business or first class. The police were called because statements like that really put people in a furor. The 3AM flight has now been pushed to July 19 @ 11am. My cousins wedding is on July 19 and I will likely miss that wedding along with 3 days of hotels I had booked in Fez. Everyone has no information and has been wholly unaccommodating in trying to book us on a sister airline or getting us to a different city. I will never ever fly this airline again and I hope to be fully reimbursed for my time and inconvenience. I will report them to the BBB until they cover all the financial loss and emotional strain this has put on me and my family who had booked travel arrangements and events upon our arrival in Morocco. This airline needs to be shut down and disbanded, it is an absolute disgrace and I wouldnt be surprised if it led to airport violence. If it was possible to leave negative stars this is like -10, absolutely horrible!
Flew roundtrip D.C. to Rome by way of Casablanca. Check-in was fine, onboarding was not organized. Check-in staff was happy to accommodate my last minute seating requests. On all four flights, boarding started late (usually 30 minutes late) and it was never clear what groups were suppose to be boarding. Flights were great- a lot of meals and an attentive crew. There was a decent selection of media/movie options. We carried on our baggage to Rome and there was ample space in the overhead bins. I recommend flying with RAM with the expectation that onboarding is not seamless/without some confusion.

They had two boarding passes each from Vegas to jfk and from jfk to Casablanca with assigned seats. They never told them to get a new boarding passes from JFK and they missed the flight because of that.Now they are setting in the airport for the second day waiting for availabil seats.And they had to pay for extra money for that.Un fu$&@“” believable.No one should use this scam airline ever

Very poor service customer service and Management.. ..experience very rude service : they cancel fly without notice or helping their customer any service in airport , Manager hide and customer service dont answer phone ..specialy when you have kids with you and driving from other state ..end up sleeping in floor in airport with too many lies with departure time and stolen luggage . For many years the air morocco has too many issues for many years..
The worst Airline ever you can choose, a group of thieves ready to steal the eye linner from your eyes,at Casablanca airport and because they delay the flight 2 times at New York jfk to fly later to Casablanca for transit,Overthere and because of delay you lost your second trip ,they send us to another airways,the other company wana charge you extra bag although I paid at jfk to cairo ,you try to find anybody from royal air maroc to help you but no way,they transfer us as a passengers to the other company without baggage only you,after arriving I didnt find my 2 luggages yet, also they charged me $210 fees for extra luggage after and until now I didnt get it,this is a warning bell to avoid traveling with this not royal air maroc
They never care to your luggage 4 items each one 51 pound still not found since aug 17 2016 , they dont know were they are doing , they dont track any thing , we will still call you till we found it , for MR abdel azizi zitoun and zohra zitoun from jfk to Tunis on if you i can rate with google i will rate less then one star never ever take this company do not take the risk to do it paid more money do not take risk , do not try call they number is not in service
I personally found that the royal air maroc is the best ever they have a good quality services as timing and food and personals i am not saying this because i am moroccan not at all but because i have traveled with some other companies where i found a lot of differences yes, i hope you travel with the royal air maroc again and you shall see the big different your self thank you and best wishes ahmed toufala

2022-05-05WORST AIRLINE EVER. Due to COVID-19, the company issued a travel voucher in June 2020 valid for 12M. They said they would refund me when the validity period is over. However, they never refund anything and never respond to emails or phone calls. I lost $1,200. WILL NEVER USE THIS TRASH AIRLINE

2022-03-29They keep the money since 2020, gave me a voucher that you cannot book online, and nobody answers any of their phone in the US for the past week. The call simply drops!!! Crooks! Maybe a group lawsuit would wake them up, or Port Authority should get them out of JFK.

2022-06-06Simply corrupt and incompetent - from luggage to customer service to cabin management to refunds and more. Not a good look for Morocco as the national airline - a “shuma” for sure. Read the negative reviews. It will happen to you.

2019-05-23I highly recommend not to book flights with them!If I could provide 0 starts, that would be my rating. I booked a flight with them, and needed customer support, they dont have that. There is no customer support, each time I call them they are trying to hang up the phone as soon as possible and they are not sharing solutions/suggestions with me.I am praying that I will have an at least OK experiencing on air because I havent gotten a good support so far on the ground.I will try to edit this after the flight as well.After talking to them 10 minutes, Ive been holding for a supervisor for the last 35 minutes.Edit: they have cancelled my flight and let me know only when i arrive at the airport.My trip was extended to 25hrs trip from 14 originally.Complications regarding the meals caused problems 3 of my 4 flight.

2021-06-21Very Poor service, sinceraly I flew from NY to Cairo with a stop in Morocco, was very hard to comunicate with the airlines, no customer services avaliable and cancel one flight automatically I had to reach to reorganize and was very annoying to help, the airplane where very simple even from Morroc to Cairo the seat didnt recline and no TV, no unplug enything...Food was ok, not bad at all.

2020-09-20Bought a ticket from them, via online agency. They cancelled the flight, ok, give me back my money. But no, they apparently have a policy to give me a voucher, for 1.5 years, to fly again with them, and only after that period they can give me back my money. Lovely. Called my credit card company, had my money back in 24 hours. Sorry, Royal Moroccan Airlines, will never ever consider your services

2021-01-31It was 12/20/2020, I was traveling from JFK, NY to West Africa. I traveled with over $10,000 USD. Upon departure JFK Airport in NY. I declared the money with US customs at JFK Airport. Upon arrival in Casablanca, I was instructed by the airport staff to immediately get a boarding pass for the bus and was quickly rushed out of the airport to a hotel downtown Casablanca because the lay over was 15 hours long. On my way back to the airport, I approached customs, and was asked if I had money to declare and my answer was yes. The customs offers claimed that I never declared the money and that they would not allow me to join my connecting flight unless I talk to their supervisor the following day which was 12/22/2020 and pay a fine which was not disclose to me at that time. They took all the the money I had in my possession. The custom officers informed that the Airline, Royal Air Maroc failed to clarify the process of declaring money to me and Is therefore responsible. The custom supervisor requested I pay a fine of 11,000 USD before I can have my money back. It took 2 additional days of staying at the Airport, not being able to eat, shower, or sleep, and trying to make the supervisor understand that I did nothing wrong and therefore should have all my money back. In fact, I let him know that the money was not mine and was a family contributions for a funeral, of a family member, I was attending. After providing documentation on the transactions made to withdraw the money from the bank and that it was declared at the JFK Airport customs, I still paid 2,610 USD before I got my money back. Royal Air Moroc did not rebook my connecting ticket and i had to purchase a new ticket for almost 700 USD. My return ticket to the United States was also canceled, according to Royal Air Maroc, because I missed my connecting flight from Casablanca. I made phone calls everyday to get my return ticket rebooked. My return date was confirmed 3 days before departure. I had to pay an exchange fee of 45 USD to get my return flight reboked and almost 200 USD in phone calls to get the entire issue resolved. It was my worst travel expense ever! It was definitely the first and last time I flew with Royal Air Moroc. The airline customer service was very poor. Most of the representatives I spoke with were very rude and unprofessional. It seems like once you pay for your ticket, they do not care about you anymore. I would advice every one I know not to ever fly Royal Air Moroc. I would even pay someone to avoid that airline. I would not want someone I consider an enemy to experience what I experienced when I flew Royal Air Maroc. Please DO NOT fly with Royal Air Maroc because you will be sorry you did. You how been warned! The only reason I rarely this one star is because there is no option for zero star.

2020-12-24This is the worse airline I ever used.No customer service, they canceling my son reservation without me knowing.When o the airport, to be tol that your so cannot flight because he has no booking and the plane is full.No one try to find my an alternative or nothing.Called the 1800 number finally got some one to tell me that the next available flight is in a week and i have to pay $600 extra because i missed my flight. I couldnt leave my son behind, he is a minor.I was so mad and requested my money back.I book a flight with Delta the next day.Now Im fighting get my money back.PLEASE DO NOT FLY ROYAL AIR MAROC!!

2020-09-17STAY AWAYthis company is selling non existing flights.they have already canceled the flights and they are still selling them on their website. there is no indication what so ever of any cancellation, they dont send you any notification, I found out that they didnt have any flights at the airport.the airport display still had their flights for the next day. and when I asked to be rebooked on that one customer service said there are no flights for a month at least.once you book there is no way to get you money back. customer service is rude and unhelpful.

2021-02-03Royal Air Maroc is the worst airline I have ever seen. My husbands flight was canceled to come home and I am pregnant. He was not even notified his flight was canceled. They honestly do not care about their customers at all. When we called they have every excuse in the world. They still have not made this right !!! Really the worst. Take your money elsewhere
