Nasty food and service is even worse. The lady who served us argued with us after we told her to take a dish back as it did not taste fresh at all. She told us to feed it to our kids!!! I would not feed it to dogs. She took the dishs back but still charged us and tip on top. I paid for what we ate and had a verbal fight also. Will never go back
If I could give I would have given a minus star. I ordered food last week, the food that I ordered was disgusting, spicy and not catered to my standards. I specifically told the person over the phone not to make it spicy instead the food was nt catered to my request. They have really bad customer service. This place used to be really phenomenal but now they lost their standards.
Very nice ambiance and great service. The staff was welcoming and the food was worth it. The location in Queens is too far for me to travel now since Ive moved closer to New Hyde Park. I was very pleased to know that the food is as good as the first place in queens.Youve got me as your loyal customer. Keep up the great work.
This is a great place to form a kind of habit of going. As a small operation, the staff is able to understand and pick up on your tastes and restrictions really quickly. And of course, the food is great as it embraces a great fusion of the 2 cuisines that I believe taps in with the best of both flavors. I personally love their Manchurian because I feel like its the only place that makes it not sour.
Food is ok, not the best, but unfortunately it is really the only Indian-Chinese in the area that is fairly priced, has a large menu and gives good quantity. The people the work there could care less and even be rude at times but service is quick. Has been around for many years, and really was great way back, but has declined over time. Still a decent place for Indian-Chinese food.
A girl at front register name YUNA is useless, rude and big time liar. I clearly asked for spicy tangra fried rice and I got tasteless fried rice that had no taste at all. They gave me stem rice without any flavor and when I called her to complain she was not ready to accept her mistake and argued with me and my wife. On top of that she said I wasted her time...Totally unprofessional staff I request Tangra restaurant management to hire a new person who have a good customer service skill and courtesy.
So bad service. I was there tonight as nd my son ordered shrimp chop suey. Believe me there was knmy about 5 or six shrimps the size of a nickel and even though we said mild spice it was so spicy he could not eat itI also ordered veg fried rice and I am still looking for the veget as ble. Only saw a few green peas. The rice lumpy. The gobi manchuria spicy too.. I never want their food agsin. Very bad expeeience
Terrible Service and Horrible Food!! There was a lady there which seemed to be a manager and she was the rudest person I have ever seen!! She had some relatives there including a child that was running around the entire time causing ruckus. Every time we called her to order something or ask for something she gave us the worst attitude ever as if she is not a server but our boss. Food is tasteless and flavorless. Seems like they use the same pre made sauce for every dish. They also charged the tip on their own which is not legal!!! Never going back!!!
Ridiculously high price and mediocre service Chinese & Indian combination flavors.Cons: They charge separately for Entree and sides combined charges are like double the normal charge of an entree.. I wonder how this place remain in business even at peak lunch / dinner times they have almost all tables empty.., now u know why..I walk past there almost everyday..Pros: U never have to wait to find a seat even on a very busy holiday. as far i seen only 2 people work there.. the server/ manager & the cook / dishwasher.Food is cooked on order only.. except rice. Not like a lot of Indian restaurant where they cook and freeze and reheat up on order.
I live in the neighborhood and we often order pick-up from Tangra, with this being the last. I just ordered 4 items from this place specifically saying everything needed to be Mild in spice level. After bringing the food home, we found 2 of 4 items to be so spicy we could not swallow more than 1 or 2 bites. My sister even separated out the zillion small chillies from her noodles. I usually dont, but was forced to call them. To this I got a long rant from Ahmed who was at the counter directing me on how to place the order. We have ordered enough times from this place to know how to order how we want our food to be. When I re-explained that 2 items were good, while 2 were impossible to eat, he went on to say there should be no chillies in the noodles and tried to make me look stupid. After further argument, the answer I got from him was The manager is not here, so you can come Monday and talk to her (This happened on a Friday afternoon). Frustrated, when I asked what do I do until Monday, his answer, I dont know, I will let Manager know, but come Monday. Sounds good? I dont know what type of pathetic customer service this is. I understand things happen, but it is the response and the handling of situations that keeps customers. It also makes me think, would Ahmed have said Come Monday, sounds good? if I was dining in. I have kept the Noodles and the separated out chilies which I will be taking to the manager Monday
The atmosphere is nice and quiet overall and a good place to bring kids. The food was pretty good over all. We ordered the vegetable manchurian and chicken manchurian which were fantastic. The fried rice and haka noodles were ok as they were on the bland side. Would definitely come again and try some of the other dishes on the menu as they have plenty to offer and choose from.
Decent Indian Chinese food backed by poor table service. The server forgot to take our order for dinner. The waiter forgot to bring fried noodles. They took 15 mins to serve Virgin Pina Colada.Had to ask for everything twice. The place was not busy at all.The food was OK.
This place is absolutely ridiculous. First they Sat me down and made me wait 25 minutes before taking my order. I ordered a sprite and a coke. The waiter has the nerve to bring me warm cans and ask me if I wanted them to be cold. The portions are so small and over priced. Servers have no etiquette on how to serve customers. Do yourself a favor and just grab chicken and rice down the road!!
Only one waitress on the friday night service, i mean there was another one, but she wasnt able to help, cause she spoke little english, therefore 4 stars. The rest was awesome, by reast I mean food. Very nice fusion food, we ordered coconut chicken soup and hot and sour soup, both were awesome. Their appetizers: lollipop chicken was ok, but vegetable pakora was really good. From entrees we ordered tangra masala chow mein and mongolian beef, both were very delicious. As to drinks: thai iced tea was good and I also liked their virgin pinacolada. Good for hanging out with friends and sharing food.
I m a regular there . Love the service of everyone except of the Chinese lady . She is super rude . Doesnt smile , it feels like she is doing us a favor. It has happened lot of times. I have seen her being extremely rude to other customers also . Very sad . Anyway love the food but seriously service has to get better
Going here since they opened years ago ... Food was ok-ish .. came out warm ... not hot ... $80 for Indian chinese food with no drinks ... charged us 18% gratuity directly without asking with a party of only 4 people ... Really ????service was ok ... nothing spectacular to deserve such a high %age ... Rushed us out at closing time... Nanking is right across the street, and many more options available for dinner ... Not going back ever
I was going to give a 1 star but because of the food I gave 2 stars. The service was horrible. The waitress wasn’t even giving us a chance to ask what are dish sizes, and how many people can eat. Then she gave a wrong beer to my friend. Overall she was rushing us as if she needs to go home. Unfortunately I won’t go there anymore.
The place hasnt changed much in the past 5-6 years, but they have more help now and the service is more sufficient now. The food was good, as always, and its the only indochinese restaurant I am willing to travel over 2 hours for, and also for the sake of the nostalgia of my past.
Sweet and friendly indo-chinese restaurant with great food and a beautiful little pond inside the restaurant.-Came here with friends and family on many different occasions.-Would definitely recommend the chicken lollipop, Tangra Masala rice and Tofu Manchurian!-DeeeeeeeeLish!-Hosted a Bridal Shower here for one my dearest and everything went well except for when one of my Besties had a peanut allergy reaction to one of the dishes.-If you do have specific allergies, please make sure to let your server know in advance. (Thank God my friend was ok!)
Had the worst possible food ever and service at a Chinese place “royal Tangra masala” in Long Island .. the staff /food and service in my entire lifetime hasn’t been so bad and rude ! Please never go here ever if U visit Long Island !!! No etiquette to speak to customers and obnoxious and rude staff ! If u can deal with that can u still deal with Chinese that’s a joke on the name of the cuisine.. being a foody trust me u don’t wanna go there ever !!!
The WORST customer service and POOR quality food. Last night we ate there. We ordered Tangra Goast Curry. The meat was spoiled. It had a bad smell and bad taste. We told the server named Yuna. She stated that goat meat taste like that with sauce. We told her that we eat goat meat regularly at home in a curry sauce and it doesnt taste like this. This meat is SPOILED. She walked way, no apology, no resolution. When we disagree to pay for the rotten meat dish. She threatened us with calling police. I would be scared to go back there. They serve you rotten meat, you are forced to pay for it, they threaten to call police if you disagree to pay for that dish, and of course whoever in our group tried that dish was sick whole night. STAY AWAY from this place.
Anytime my husband and I dont feel like cooking we order from tangra, which is once a week, sometimes even 2 times. I love the vegetable man chow soup to start. It comes with crunchy asian noodles that add texture to the hearty spicy soup. We usually skip the appetizers but if we are really hungry we go for the paneer or vegetable pakoras. They are lightly fried dough balls that come served with a vinegar based spicy pepper sauce. The lollipop chicken is worth mention but even though we eat meat, we find that the vegetarian choices are quite superior. For entrees our favorites are salt and pepper gobi (cauliflower), Vegetable manchurian, and palak paneer. The tabgra masal sauce is OK but the manchurian is great and the chili or basil sauces are great so sometimes we play aruond and get chili vegetable, basil cauliflower, you get the idea. When I do feel like chicken I get the general tsos chicken which is sweet and spicy and the meat is so tender. I have had the general tsos with tofu as well and it is good.go there!

2022-05-08Same price but the PORTIONS! Really dissatisfied with the quantity of food. Small size curries and shallow containers! Enough for two not the usual for 4 people. Food might be good but really upset about not having enough food.

2021-11-27Overall= could be better. Rice was bland and the manchurian gravy has a sour aftertaste. Chicken was well cooked. Understaffed, but understandable due to labor shortage. Overpriced for quality and quantity.

2021-04-10Royal Tangra Masala is an excellent Asian fusion restaurant. Dining in pre-pandemic was a comfortable and relaxing experience. Only take-out available for now. All dishes freshly prepared and tasty. My favorite is the Mongolian Beef with stir fry vegetables. Please try it! Yuna the owner is always very welcoming and super hospitable. Highly recommended.

2021-04-10Pretty good desi Chinese place. We ordered Masala Fried Rice, which were fantastic and flavorful. General Tsos Chicken was also really well made. Pad Thai was alright, wish we had gotten more spice because it wasnt particularly flavorful. Lollipop chicken was a little dry, but it was a delivery so mightve been because it had gotten a bit cold. Overall good takeout option with generous serving sizes.

2018-09-10One of my favorite Asian fusion restaurant is tangra masala and I feel that no one can beat them. I tried all their other locations except this one until today. Boy was the taste of the dishes different! I really disliked their lolipop chicken batter with the sauce. They actually ended up giving a whole wing and I felt the chef was feeling too lazy to make it into a lollipop? I mean I was the only customer there so... Confused here. The chicken corn soup sucked and I was shocked the most when I saw the tangra masala fried rice. Taste was horrible, the shrimps smell was so strong & disgusting! What happened to the rice? The rice was so different from the other two restaurants! I just ended up having two bites from it and brought it back home in hopes of someone else liking it. I never went through so much negativities when it came to Tangra masala restaurants until today. I feel that people around LI giving it amazing reviews havent tried the other ones yet. I think Ill stick to my favorite at Grand ave no matter how far it is from me. They are the best!
