This place is awesome, the inside is cozy as heck, very rustic, the food is 100% and we were very satisfied with the amount of food and servedand it all was cooked to perfection ,waitress was very friendly, drinks also were the best, well be back there again very soon, better than any place in the area as far as were consernd.
Lovely family-owned and run restaurant with delicious, home-style food. Right off Perth Road in yet tucked away from Amsterdams hustle and bustle. Seating inside or al fresco. Parking in the back for about ten vehicles. Drive-up contactless take-out available for pre-orders by telephone. Pricing very affordable. Unisex bathroom clean. On September 25th, 2020 the Montgomery County Libertarian Party hosted Larry Sharpe at this location.
The Rustic Loft is a nice bar/restaurant. Has a reasonable selection of beer on tap including Wolf Hollow District 6IPA which is one of my favorites. I had a grilled buffalo chicken salad with homemade blue cheese dressing which was great. My wife had a Caesar salad with chicken and she enjoyed hers also. We sat at the bar and the staff and patrons were very friendly. A very nice experience.
The ambience and decor is great, but I found the menu limited and felt that the pricing was a bit steep for the quality of the meal. That said, the staff were great--very attentive and courteous. Id like to give a higher rating., given how attractive the place is and how good the service was, but restaurants are essentially about food and the menu could really benefit from some more exciting offerrings and prices struck me as at least 10-15% higher than appropriate.
This is a great little gem of a restaurant. I dont know why we waited so long to try it out, but Im so happy that we did! The food is great. Its not trying to be something that its not, like so many places do. Instead, it puts its focus into creating a menu with just enough choices to make sure everyone at the table can find a dish that suits them, preparing and serving up some absolutely delicious dishes. Like, DELICIOUS. Chicken Bruschetta is my personal favorite, because they serve it with carrots, which makes no sense.... Until you try it. Oh. My. Yum. And, yep. Writing about it has made me crave it. Its so, so good!In fact, everything that we have tried has been good. No, great. Its all been great! Burgers, fries, homemade ice cream, heavenly little corn nuggets, bacon aioli, strawberry shortcake....You get my point, right? Good. Now, go get you some Rustic Loft yum!!
Check your credit card bill if you use your card here! We were overcharged and had to drive several miles out of our way to get reimbursed. And then we were not even offered a discount on our next meal for our trouble, the way respectable establishments would do. We were faithful customers before this. Will probably not be back.
Good menu, great LOCAL beer selection, knowledgeable and friendly staff.Grab a seat at the bar. Classic rock on the speaker system. Multi level rustic dining. Mostly locals who all greet each other when coming and going. This would be my hangout of I was a local! Unfortunately, just passing thru! Dont let the outside scare you away! They could use better signage. We drove right past and had to turn around.
Was always great but last 2 experiences have been terrible. Tall blond skinny girl had a terrible attitude and was talking terribly about guests. Said something to bar tender who responded with you should expect it on a Friday or Saturday because were busy. We will never go back again
I REALLY wanted to have a positive experience here, but it failed in so many ways. Its a nice place for live music. I think it would be perfect for having a drink at the bar and if I were to eat here again, Id also eat at the bar (faster). 3 of us ate here tonight (outdoor seating, which was nice). It took a VERY long time for our waitress to stop by & take a drink order. We asked what dark beers (porters, stouts, etc) were on tap. 15 mins later she came by & rattled off all these options. We werent familiar with them so picked 2. Awhile later they came, but they were far from dark beers. So, we sent them back & talked w/ the bartender only to find out they didnt have any darks on tap. Ah! But, he did suggest Ubu from Lake Placid as the closest choice.. that was EXC! 10 mins later, and our waitress stopped by to take our order. We ordered meatloaf on a roll, cheeseburger, and a warm roast beef on Naan bread. It took over 30 mins for the order to arrive. Yikes! When it came, the food was cool, my bread was super soggy, and the parm/garlic fries were very greasy & somewhat soggy (tip, Rustic.. try seasoning fries w/DRY parm & garlic.. the fresh version is too wet for fries). If the food had come to us in a more timely fashion, it would have been better. I think the cheeseburger had the greatest potential to be good.. the other meals..meh. I would order reg fries (vs seasoned). Slaw & reg rice were good. They do have GF rolls. I think we had a very inexperienced waitress. The other waitresses were attentively serving customers. I would keep the food selections simple.. better chance itll turn out good. I MIGHT try this place again.. eating at the bar & listening to live music ;)
First time visiting this place for lunch and the atmosphere was very warm, service was a little slow ( bartender was the only server ), my wife had the Prime Rib French Dip sandwich and she loved it, I had a burger asked for medium and it came out well done but still had good favor. Great place for lunch if you are in the area. Will be back.
We stopped at the last moment with no reservations, but were seated immediately in the rather quaint dining room. The menu options were very diverse and reasonably priced. We both chose the lemon pepper paddock and were amazed at the flavor and preparation. Add to that the wonderful garlic mashed potatoes and a great medley of vegetables and we had a meal fit for royalty. Cant wait to go back. Servo e was exceptional as well, if a bit slow.
Love this place. The atmosphere is great & the food was really good. Its easy to miss as you drive by it. It shares a lot with the Olde Brick, and theres more parking out back. I highly recommend stopping in if youre in the area. We just went recently, after a year or so gap from our last visit (we dont go out to eat too often & when we do, we shuffle to try new places), and it was still just as good as we remembered.
Let me start out with saying i love the food here and the portions match the pricing. This was my boyfriend and Is go to restaurant, but likely we will not be back because of ONE server. My boyfriend just moved back here from Texas and they refused to serve him even though it was a 100% valid license from Texas. She said it wasnt valid and that it expired when the expiration date is for 2022. We left and went elsewhere. We never had this problem before, now I am sure he wont go back and i dont blame him.
A little too dark in there...I found it kind of difficult to read the menu. I love the looks of the place inside, very cozy, but small. I ordered the chicken and biscuits, which for the price, was a little on the skimpy side in terms of portion. They first brought me my salad (which was included with the meal). The salad was good, and I would have liked some time to enjoy it, but within 3 minutes of it being set on my table, they came out with my entree so I had to push the salad aside (small table). The meal itself was alright, not bad, not great..but again, the portion size absolutely should have been more generous for the price. Our waitress was fine, checked on us a couple of times and was a friendly individual so that wasnt an issue. If I could give one solidly positive tip about this place it would be to absolutely try the funnel fries with cinnamon ice cream and whipped cream drizzled with caramel sauce. Did I mention cinnamon ice cream? This dessert is absolutely to die for. You will NOT be disappointed. If I visit this place again, this particular dessert will be a big reason why I do.
We were there Saturday night for dinner at around 8pm and the atmosphere was AWESOME! The owners were there and very personable! Had a live one man band throughout dinner and he was great! The food selection and the food itself was very good and priced reasonably!! I would highly recommend this place!!
This place is awesome! First off the pub is a converted barn, and the the resulting design is very unique. The upstairs dining area is broken up into two sections, with one accessible by means of a bridge. The rustic theme is perfectly executed. The menu was broad and the food exquisite. I ate the “Porky’s Last Stand”, a pork sandwich, with ghost pepper cheese added.
I had a wonderful dinner here. The place is so interesting and inspiring that I forgot to take photos of anything other than my mostly demolished dinner. The owner is a great guy and fun to talk to you. Almost want to travel back to New York just to visit this place again.
Myself and 4 friends had dinner here on a Sunday Evening. We sampled bites of each others meals and agreed that each selection was fantastic. There was a salad that offered a maple dressing that was next level awesome!!! I had never tasted maple salad dressing, but was blown away by the flavor. Delicious. Also, I highly recommend the garlic fries. This is offered as a potato choice, and offera a nice twist on the regular french fry. The ambiance is relaxing and offers the feel of a Rustic log cabin. Upstairs offers additional seating, exposed wooden beams and a wooden bridge passing over the seating below. Service was prompt and attentive. I cant wait to return.
Owner was very nice and accommodating on a busy Friday night w/out a reservation. Great atmosphere, great food! Everything we ordered was phenomenal! We had bacon wrapped shrimp, bruschetta, drunkin meatloaf, open faced prime rib sandwhich and strawberry patch for desert. The service was fast and our waitress Michelle was very sweet and attentive. I highly recommend this quaint little restaurant if youre ever in the Amsterdam, NY area. Make a reservation if you can though; its well worth the wait. PS For those looking to sit and have a drink with friends, theres also a bar with local brewed beers on tap, IPAs and others.
Great local spot. Had the corn nu and the danm Yankees pot roast sandwich it was so well seasoned and oh so tasty. That staff was very friendly an attentive. Recommend you stom and check them out you will not be disappointed! The place is pretty amazing also very country and rustic!
We have passed by this place hundreds of times and finally stopped in. We were very surprised by this place and should have checked it out sooner. Great food each visit so far and beer selection is good. The food is a mix of bar food and comfort food. I like that there is outside seating, I just wish it wasnt overlooking route 30.
Their food is so good. The menu is kind of like comfort bar and bbq food. If youre on a diet, this is not your place to eat. The seating is kind of cramped and it can be a little inconvenient if you cant climb stairs. Honestly that doesnt really bother us, but I can see how it could for others. They also dont really have a kids menu, but because of their menu options, a lot of the options are kid friendly. When it is nicer, they do have patio seating.
Food was good, portions were generous, and music was fun. Four instead five stars only because service slow. Almost seemed like they were not prepared for a dinner crowd on a Friday night. It was tasty enough that I will go back again to see if the poor service was a one time event.
Food was better than I was expecting for cheaper than I would have thought. Good for a date night, although when we came in we were not greeted by a hostess (or anyone) and had no idea what to do, so we just sat down, which seemed more of an inconvenience for the waitress than for us.

2022-07-08True to the name The Rustic Cabin certainly looked the part. Food was great and the service wasnt bad. Love music wasnt Nashville worthy, but was entertaining if you like that kind of thing. Dinner meeting with the co-workers upstairs. Definitely would recommend dinning here. Outdoor seating is now available.

2022-07-01Hard to find a place to eat on a Sunday around here. Bartender was very upbeat and pleasant. It had Quick Draw which is very nice we won enough to pay for dinner. The wings were extremely meaty and delicious. The fried calamari was not so good and the marinara sauce was very sweet. We ordered More wings and had a very good time. Also a very good selection of craft beers.

2021-08-02Lovely place. We enjoyed our experience very much. We ordered the black and Blue salad with cubes of Angus steak on top of a beautiful + very fresh salad. The lettuce was crisp, tomatoes beautiful, great dressing and quality bread and butter. Our Only request would be that the steak be in bigger chunks. The bits were so little they were hard to keep on the fork. We understand food costs have gone, up so Even if it were Only a few bigger chunks, so be it. That being said, we did enjoy our meal very much. Thank you.

2021-06-07Wow! Stopped by for dinner on the way back from the Adirondacks. Didnt expect the food to be good but was pleasantly surprised! Didnt get a chance to to take a photo of the food (we were too hungry!). Would definitely recommend the meatloaf sandwich although the other items were also good: Caesar salad, the rad cow sandwich, fried peppers, fried onions and all the different types of fries! Also the restaurant has a digital sign out front that is basically a real life twitter (apparently these are not ads, just random thoughts by the owner 😂). 10/10 would come again for the food, service and signage. Definitely saving it as a food stopover anytime Im up here!
