I and my wife lived here for one year. Apartments were spacious and clean. The management was helpful and quick to fix any maintenance issues. The new Gym has been wonderful. The move-in and move-out process was very smooth for me. I would definitely recommend it to others.
Overall, my family and I enjoyed living there, the playground is very big, the tennis courts are nice and there is plenty of space to play. Most of the people living in the community are nice. The staff is great and always helpful. One thing that can be improved is to enforce the rules and to explain new residents some rules regarding hygiene, courtesy and behavior. That is in the residents manual but it seems that no one reads it.The washers/dryers are shared, which creates some issues. More than one time I found human waste in the washers, it came from a 2 year old baby but anyway it is gross. I talked to the staff about the issue and they talked to our neighbors. Some neighbors also forget that there is a fan on top of the stove. Instead of running the fan, they open the apartment door to share the smell. The smell is very strong that we have to enter our apartment very quickly to prevent the smell from entering. Two out of the four neighbors that havr lived above our apartment have been very noisy after hours (after 11 pm). The staff tried to fix the issue but the neighbors did not care.In general a place with great staff, and some not so great neighbors (in my personal experience).
I currently live here and cannot wait to leave. The neighbors are always loud, weve called three times and the issues continue. There are constant issues with bugs in the apartment, constant plumbing problems, garbage on the lawn more often than not, half of the gym equipment is usually broken, etc. I called the property manager to see what we could do about breaking our lease early because the quality of life has been pretty terrible, and she was extremely rude and when I mentioned I would be leaving an honest review, didnt care in the slightest. Avoid this place at all costs.
Overall, Rustic is not great, but also not terrible. But dont expect your neighbors to be quiet, your appliances to work, and anticipate constant children everywhere. If youre like me, a childless adult who is career focused, this IS NOT a good place to live. If youre a family looking for a reasonable, yet expensive spot, this is ideal.Pros: The staff is helpful, they at least pretended to care when we had complaints.Lots of available parking spaceReasonably safe general neighborhoodCons: Loud, constantly loud. Get an upstairs apartment if you can, and a day job.Absolutely terrible neighbors- loud, children screaming/playing in the hallways late at night, loud music coming from cars parked outside the window, leaving clothes in washer/dryer. One of our neighbors was arrested for dealing heroin, and he was way quieter than the two people who were abusing each other nightly. We bought a baseball bat for safety.Very small 1 bedroom apartment for a very high price. My microwave, dishwasher, bathroom fan, A/C, and fridge handles all broke within a year of normal use, the microwave and dishwasher were broken when we moved in.
I have lived at Rustic Village for the last 3 years, and would recommend it to others. The maintenance is very fast in responding to concerns or issues. The grounds people are quick in responding when something needs to be addressed.I do live in a bottom apartment with people above me that make a lot of noise. In all honesty, not sure how this issue can be avoided in any kind of apartment set up.Everyone is nice and the complex is great if you are a looking to live near one of the many colleges. It is also near a variety of restaurants, the bus line, etc.The prices do continue to go up yearly between $10-30 a year, and renovations of the new laundry rooms also have resulted in an increase in laundry prices as well as sadly a decrease in storage space. All said and done, Rustic Village is pet friendly, quick to respond to complaints and concerns, has some great programs for tenants, a swimming pool that has a lifeguard during the summers, concierge service, movie rentals, and a small gym.Im pleased to call Rustic Village my home.... and have no plans on leaving anytime soon.
Staff is excellent, Sarah has been amazing since we moved in. Scott the handyman is always professional and courteous. Responses are prompt. The building itself? Old, things just get painted over. We may have some black mold/mildew in our place that we documented upon move-in, it was just painted over. Safety is a concern, my honda accords catalytic converter was cut off in the parking lot overnight on August 19/20 of 2018. $500 bill from insurance and RV did not help with the expense. Pool is fairly clean, area is neat and tidy. Dog park is kept up. Rent gets raised every year. A little pricey for what you get.
Ive lived here for almost 3 years and overall, Ive found this a great place to live. Maintenance issues are taken care of quickly and efficiently. I feel safe walking alone at night here. There is a great community feel. They have a nice pool where you can bring guests (guests are free the first few times and a small fee after that). Laundry is $2/wash and $2/dry and money has to be loaded onto your laundry card. You can load it in the concierge office, which is only open certain hours, or you can get the gym key and load it there 24hrs. I have loved living here so far and will continue to stay!
I wasnt impressed right from the beginning. The initial viewing of the property was okay and the location being as convenient as it was we decided to move in.Coming in to sign our lease seemed to be a hassle, we ended up tossed between 3 different people. No one did a walk through with us to look for damages, we were told it was just renovated, so I guess that means dont worry about itWe tried to use the party room for a shower and that also seemed to be a headache for the staff there. Suprising we did get the deposit back for the use of the room but were not able to reserve it again for a birthday because you can only use it 1 time a year! So it was empty, not used the day we requested...Moving into a non-smoking building is a waste of time because that must not apply to pot smoking! I actually dont mind the smell but it gets old after weeks on end of it. I along with others in the building called to complain. But again I guess that was an Inconvenience for someone. So after a year of this place we were ready to move out! We did get a renovated room with new carpets and we paid for new carpets again when we moved out. There were multiple stains that smelled and looked like dog urine is why we didnt get our deposit back? Our dog is well trained and never peed on the floor, but even if she did what does the extra $250 dog deposit and extra $50 a month pet charge cover then??Overall we were not impressed with the staff and management of the property.Lastly, watch out for the employees joy riding on their golf carts! They are everywhere, and god forbid you are on the sidewalks when they are out and about.
DO NOT MOVE HERE, I repeat DO NOT MOVE HERE, bedbugs, rude maintenance workers who dont fix anything, the boiler leaked 3 times and stained rugs they wouldnt shampoo carpets, then when You move out they charged for the carpets!?? You will NEVER get your security deposit no matter what and they will also charge MORE money besides for deposit and email you this after you move out. In a smoking building and pet building aside from taking security deposit, they charged 1000 for smoking in the apartment, and carpets that were literally only ruined from their leak.... They will only shampoo them now and take that money in their pockets. This place is the biggest scam in the world. They will play it off as Beverly Hills before you move in once you sign that lease your screwed. Trust me people stay away. They put pesticides on the grass constantly so you cant walk your pets if you have any. These buildings are old you can hear everything your neighbor does through the wall, and the amount of bugs/ and any problems they wont do anything, when you tell them. This has been a hell. They only care about money and getting you in that lease. They get you if you try and move out. I warn everyone to stay away. Find somewhere else you will be doing your life a huge favor. The maintenance manager Jeff will lie to your face, as well as all of the office people. Dont be fooled like others. Their is a reason when an apartment complex doesnt have at least 4 stars. I hope this helps any prospective renters. I helped leave an apartment in mint condition, everything clean to the t, plugged all nail holes, vaccum, spotless kitchen and bathroom and they did this.
HORRIBLE!!!! Theyre dog park is FULL OF FLEAS!!! When you mention it to the maintenance they do absolutely nothing about it, first time I brought my pets there they did nothing. Apartment buildings are extremely old, ground level you will find loads of bugs, they wont do anything for you either. Jeff the maintenance head is extremely rude and will treat you like dirt. People in the office just brush off everything. I wouldnt recommend living here to anyone. They put pesticides constantly on grass so your dogs eat it and then what happens?, they only care about getting your rent money, keeping your security deposit and making life a hell. You can hear any noise through the walls of your apartment. Poor insulation. If you value living comfortably and happily, this place is overpriced and horrible.
I’ve lived at Rustic for 2 years, and it’s been nothing but an incredible experience. I moved in with a roommate, but she left 6 months into the first lease year and the process was super easy.Pros:Neighbors are amazing and diverse, the apartments are SO nice, maintenance is incredibly quick and nice, and the ameneties offered are second to none. It’s been incredibly difficult to find a place to move from here, I’m only moving because I adopted 2 dogs since moving in and they need a backyard to run in (we’re pretty far from the dog park). I have had some tough times with a vicious neighbor dog (the office intervened and evicted the dog immediately after we called) and a less-than-stellar mailman (the office was incredibly supportive and the property manager herself called me to make sure I was comfortable). But honestly Rustic is amazing; I’ve never had bugs or mice, and never had problems with the apartment that maintenance couldn’t clear up within 12 hours. Also you get a small storage space in the laundry room, which is super nice for those pesky storage bins and all the junk inside them. If you have stuff that’s too big to fit in the storage closet, maybe you shouldn’t live in an apartment....Cons:Two recurring issues, just to be fair: water from window condensation occasionally forms into mold- not great. But I haven’t called maintenance about it yet, so I can’t complain. Also, when my tv and microwave are both running the entire strip is blown, which is kitchen, living room, and bedrooms. Everything except the hallway and bathroom -_- annoying but not the end of the world. The reviews are somewhat awful, but it’s actually an amazing place to live and the only experiences I can relate to are the 4 and 5 star ones! Remember. People only write reviews when they’re super upset (or attemlting to combat those angry people, like I am)tl;drIt’s awesome. Ignore the bad reviews, if you have issues talk to the office and they’ll fix it.
We have lived at Rustic Village for over 12 years now, and I have to say I cant imagine us moving anywhere else (unless we choose to leave Rochester). We have a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, and we couldnt be happier. The apartment is large and has plenty of storage. While the complex is enormous, we dont feel like just a number. The staff have taken the time to get to know us, and never act like we are wasting their time and will actually spend time catching up with us if they see us; even the maintenance staff will chat while they work if we need a repair, etc. They go well above and beyond also in taking care of my mother. She has mobility issues, and one example of how thoughtful they are: When our parking lot was being repaved and she had to park in the next lot over, they offered to come pick her up with one of their golf carts and drive her to and from her car if she needed it. How many placed do that? They also always shovel her car out, and from what I can tell, every car that is parked in a handicapped spot. How many places do that!?Have we had bumps and challenges now and then? Yes. But, I would ask who doesnt when it comes to a home? Whether you own, or rent, you will always have things come up that might not be pleasant. Every time we have had an issue, even if it was not handled well at first, when given the chance, they have always come through in the end!I will be honest, I can be incredibly demanding, and at times can be difficult because of that. Every time I have lost my temper, justified or not, they have handled it with patience and grace, and have always been fair. There is no such thing as perfection when dealing with aging buildings, there will always be something that needs updating or fixing, but the staff at Rustic Village truly do try to make sure everything is as perfect as it can be. Barb, Linda, Jeff, Greg, I could list so many, have all become almost a second family to us.For those who say the rent is high, I would argue that with heat and hot water included, it balances out with the other places where you have to pay those bills separately.
My apartment on Crittenden Road is roomy, safe, and quiet. I have enjoyed living here the past 5 years and am here to stay! The office staff and workers are very nice, helpful, and efficient. They aim to please! The property is kept up very meticulously. Highly recommend Rustic Village!
I lived 3 years in rustic village.I can understand the bad reviews from others.I will put it simple for you guys.If you are looking for cheap apartments and are ready to adjust for everything , then this is not the place for you.If you want a safer place and excellent services, pay little more to get them.Their maintenance is awesome. Its understandable on why they are strict and charge fines. To have that level of maintenance and let people keep the community clean, they have strict rules and fines for their mistakes. The maintenance team is available 24/7 and 365 days and they will be responding to your problem in less than 15 minutes , I have never waited more that for any problem i reported. :)By Far the best community I ever Lived.
I lived there for 4 years, and was very happy. Maintenance concerns were always addressed quickly, and the staff was quite friendly. They are strict about their rules because they want to keep the facilities in good order, and want to want to keep quality responsible people as their tenants. You will be happy they do, I never had a problem with a neighbor there!
This is a beautiful place I loved from the very first day. From Lidia, the lady that showed the apartment to Astacia, the lady that do the cleaning, everybody made me feel like a King. I needed to fix something, someone knocked the door in less than 10 minutes. After 2 years I bought a house they gave me a month to month option. I cleaned the appartment before I left they send a check with the entire amount I deposited. What else could you expect from a landlord? I strongly recommend this place as one of the best decision Ive made in my life. You do discover the difference.
My son and I have lived here for over 4 years. Safe, excellent customer service, wonderful and diverse neighbors, amazing Country-Club-like pool, entertainment center where you can host parties; playgrounds, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts; location is the best! Free shuttle to Strong for employees! Concierge office where they hold packages for you, and you can even rent DVD’s for free! Rush-Henrietta school district has recently been recognized as one of the best in the county. All this being said, no place is perfect, of course; for instance when we first moved in there were non-aggressive bees inside the apartment after a few weeks, but Maintenence did resolve the issue quickly. Also, if you are at all sensitive to noise or are a light sleeper, do not choose a lower apartment, footsteps can almost always be heard.
The neighbor upstairs sometimes ran in her apartment and the footstep sounds were like earthquakes for me. Also, the neighbor upstairs has a habit of playing loud music on her radio player in the bathroom while showering. I reported this several times to the residential center over the phone and the residential center did sent staff to tell them to turn down their music. The residential center should have a bunch of my callings recorded now. However, the neighbor upstairs still continue playing loud music in the bathroom while showering. Even after the staff told them to turn down the music, they seem to be never cared. Totally unfair for people living downstairs like me. Terrible neighbor, totally turned my experience living here upside down.
Last year I moved from GA to Rochester. I lived there in many many apartments but never lived in one like Rustic village apartment. This is the largest community apartment with different offices for different purpose for e.g. receiving shipment package is sep office, maintenance is sep office, they even have free rental for sports equipment office, very large play ground, walking area and there is lot to describe that I cannot. Apartments are neat and clean as you walk in like a nice 5 star hotel all perfect nice and clean. I have learned there are people that lived here here for 10 years. But the most I like is service which is fast quick and perfect and professional. Yesterday I reported about my two ceiling fans that were not working right and they checked and today replaced to new fans. Mostly I really appreciate maintenance supervisor Jeff who ordered to replace fans immediately also maintenance guy Tom in the best because whenever I ask for anything before I know it, it is done perfect. If you like nice quiet peaceful place and lots of place to walk, run and exercise and dont mind paying another 100-150 extra than this place is for you. You may get a deal, talk to leasing office. I am very pleased and happy here and not to mention but also nice gym here and very nice laundry in every building.
Ive been here over a year now. Very responsive and incredibly nice staff. Clean and well maintained buildings. Maticulously cared for landscape. Great amenities, pool, gym, and a very nice party room that worked great for my boys 5th birthday party!!I have enjoyed watching the cricket matches and playing tennis as well as basketball with my family when they are in town. This is by far and above the nicest and best apartment experience I have ever had.Only downfall, I dont know that I really care do own a home again. Cant imagine it being any nicer than this😊.
RUN RUN RUN. This place does not care about you what so ever, this the worst place to live in. This big corporation taking advantage of people especially students. The irony of this place is all two and three bedrooms apartments are upstairs, meaning every one with kids lives upstairs, imagine the nightmare we are living in 24/7 stumbling, knocking, huge annoying. Seriously, no matter how much I write to stress how pathetic this place is it wont be enough. I have mention the stumbling upstairs to management so many times, they send someone few times to check it out but they dont do nothing about it. Money you pay in this place is going a waste, you might as well through your money away. The terrible part is the people upstairs not doing anything on purpose theyre just walking around minding their own business in their own apartment but some people are more considerate towards their downstairs neighbors than others in term of being light walkers. I seriously dont have anything against my upstairs neighbors or their children, children wants to run around and play. The building foundation is poor because you can hear every noise (even when some one uses the faucet) and every foot step. And the design of the apartments in poor. PEOPLE WITH CHILDREN SHOULD NOT LIVE UPSTAIRS PERIOD.
I wouldnt stay here again even if they paid me and its not that the apartments are bad, its the administrative staff. Its as if they dont have the time for you once youve signed the lease. On multiple occasions, I was treated poorly by the staff and even told that I was lying to them. Very unfortunate for how nice the landscaping is there for them to waste it on poorly qualified staff members with no people skills or manners for that matter. The windows leak water all over and when asking them to replace them they would say Were under routine maintenance and your apartment will be upgraded once its your buildings time, and that time never came. They limit your heat level with a cap even though you are the one paying the RG&E (energy) bill. I could go on and on but just glad I dont stay here anymore.
My husband and I were both resident physicians at the University of Rochester, and Rustic Village was the PERFECT place for us to live and start our family. The location is excellent (close to highways, close to shopping, close to the hospital), and the staff are even better. Our calls to maintenance were promptly addressed (nearly always the same day or the next, even on weekends). The amenities cant be beat: beautiful pool (with kid wading pool), great playground, tennis courts, free DVD rental, and great sidewalks for walking (always promptly shoveled). Weve lived in two apartments, both garden level, and had a run-in with bugs (both cockroaches and fleas within a few weeks -- both likely gifts from our traveling and pet-owning neighbors). The complex promptly addressed each issue; an exterminator is scheduled to visit the complex weekly to address any concerns (even ants/spiders), and we havent had another issue since. We have incredible neighbors from all over the world, and have been treated to more authentic ethnic cuisine than we could have imagined. We are very thankful to have lived here, and could not recommend Rustic Village highly enough.
My boyfriend, our beloved lab retriever and me have lived in Rustic Village for almost five years. It is a very lovely place to live for such a long time. The most precious thing I find about Rustic Village is the staff and maintenance workers who are always ready to help upon calls. Very impressive!
Im currently experiencing a family crisis and therefore need to sublet my lease so I can move. I found two foreign students at RIT who are willing to take over my lease, however, the leasing office has told me that they have met their quota for international students at this time. This only adds stress onto my difficult time. They will NOT assist you with finding a new tenant, and have this ridiculous quota in regards to how many students they can take in even though Rustic Village is LOCATED in a college community. They will treat you like a King up to the point of you signing the lease, and afterwards theyll make you feel like a liability.
We have stayed there 5 years ago and still remember the good memories of this apartment.Everything from the maintenance team to the rental office staff and the surrounding neighborhood, outlook of the apartment, play area were so good. And +1 to the management because while moving out, they were supposed to charge me extra for some reason but upon my request they didn’t.Loved each day of 1 yr stay there.
I love Rustic Village.A very calm place with very quite neighbors. A safe neighborhood with a plenty of organized parking lots. A green area where you see trees everywhere organized and trimmed. Moreover, it is located in the middle of almost everything, featuring a strategic location.I would recommend this place for families and students who are looking for a calm place to live.
Terrible place! Charged an absurd amount of 1,000 security deposit, both me AND my roommate. In total 2k security deposit. Maintenance would write us up for listening to music on our phones, very crappy. Blinds very bad quality, fridge handle broke, fan switch broke. Our bathroom door was mounted wrong and it fell off, the maintenance guy said it was their fault for mounting it wrong and then they charged us for it!Staff is very very rude. Dont recommend any one to live there. It is absurd.
My girlfriend (now fiance) and I moved here this summer. We were skeptical to move here because we had heard that it was a large complex and wondered how we were going to be able to have a maintenance person help us if anything went wrong. Needless to say, that has not been an issue. Every time weve called, theyve responded in a prompt fashion. We called at 11:00 at night one night and within 15 minutes there was someone at our door to help us. They even sent a follow-up specialist the next morning. We were beyond impressed and cant wait to renew our lease!
Out of all the Apartments Ive stayed at between Rochester and Syracuse NY. Rustic Village has all three apartment complexes that I stayed at in Syracuse Beat!!!!! hands down!!!! My Ex and I were staying at Rustic Village in 2000 , She was a Traveling Nurse at Highland hospital and I a Student. It was clean and the staff very Friendly!!!! I hope sometime next year to start my search for a home in Rochester. And while I am looking , I hope to be able to come back to Rustic Village
I lived in Rustic village for 5+years but felt bad while move out. They have charged me $1500+ for the rug, wall and other charges even though I left with a good condition. I took photos while move out and now taking legal action. Be careful while you moving out or they will rip you off.
Very poor experience dealing with management of this property. I was given a date to decide to submit a rental application if I wanted to get $300 off (there is a rental application fee for each person). This was fair, but when I asked if I could see the terms for the lease to make sure I was comfortable with them before applying, I was told no. Then I asked about the possibility of rolling over a lease from one of their locations to another if I was to lose my job, a question that was ignored and instead followed by a response if you want to get the deal you have to pay the application fee today. I have never left a review but I felt the need to after the way this management responded to my inquiry (both Rustic Village and their parent company Tri City Rentals). I presently rent from a Conifer run community and have nothing but good things to say about my experience with their management. I would highly recommend Conifer locations over Rustic Village or any other Tri City Rental location based on my experience.
I definitely dont recommend anyone to this community, the leasing office staff were racist and particularly if you are Asian be ready to loose your security deposit at whatever condition you return the apartment. Particularly if you are getting a glass top stove in your unit dont feel proud for it, even if you use it for X years and return it with clean usable condition, they will replace stove-top at your expense because that is what the agreement says.. what a joke :) :) ( because this is the only apartment community in the world which never has any depreciation on the utensils..LOL), and they dont know what depreciation means..Specially wanted to mention about some of the maintenance staff who come into the apartment for maintenance work with full stinky smoking smell, particularly when you have kids it irritates and the way they inspect twice a year is another hell of a Joke one must say, they send letters for those who keep everything clean and leave those dont care about the unit.. ( Penny Wise and Pound Foolish ), I learnt the meaning for the proverb after living here.. LOLI do appreciate very few good resident staff who are friendly but definitely this community has less pros and more cons.My last note to the owner who has the authority to reply.. I definitely dont need your explanation or a return call to this review.. Good Luck..
First of all, this place allows people to smoke! That means if you want to live there, especially if you have children, you are putting your own lung and your childrens young lung at danger! It doesnt matter how you tell people to smoke however far away from the building. Come on, lets not fool ourselves. They smoke in the laundry room, in the hall way since the moment you step out of your own unit into the hall way, you feel almost suffocated by that disgusting order and actual smoke! Dont tell me you have no control when people smoke. If you make it a policy that this is a smoke free community, people know they will be kicked out if they violate the policy. This is the most terrible thing that could happen--without any option, you are forced to breath the smoke-second hand smoke causing damage to your lung!Second, the rent is not cheap. However, they dont care to change out the 20 year old refrigerator! The gasket on door of the freezer apparently gets very old and apparently cannot close and seal tight, which will definitely cause leak and waste of energy and even worse food going bad. I bet no new refrig will be like this. Just because its not their own home, they simply do not care and will not change to a new one. How much does this already very cheap model cost anyway???!!!
I loved staying at the Rustic village appartments. Yosra and Rachel were great in helping me out whenever I had some question. Everything from moving in to moving out went very smoothly and was quite enjoyable. The best part is that they are fully reimbursing my security deposit. I ll have no reservation in recommending this palce to friends and family. Fahad
Rustic is not even worth for 1 star. They will try to keep your security deposit regardless of apartment return condition. They love to argue instead of solving problem.*Based on comment from owner, i reached out to them again, No response. All the comments by owner are just show off
A thief lives here. An opportunist picked up my hone and instead of choosing to turn it in, he took it home to 363 W Esquire Drive. Thanks to find my phone I was able to ping the location. Unfortunately, the police are very friendly in that area and dont like to arose people at 1am. Lovely! He was a tall white man and last name may be Keegan, so current and new residents in the 300s area--keep those cell phones close! he wont give them back if he finds them.
Never choose this place if you do not want second-hand smoke!!!!It must be due to the old age of the buildings, when other people have to smoke, the stinky and very harmful smoke just drifts into your own unit. You will be inhaling this toxic smoke without any other options. Even when you have infants. they still allow smoke
This is the worst place ever. Too many kids playing outside the apartments. I complained 4-5 times to management, but nothing happened. They just send notice and nothing happens. Kids play outside apartments all the time. Very noisy and disturbing. I finally decided to leave this place and did not renew my lease.Message to management : Please have some control over such issues........otherwise many more people will leave.....
Choose this place only if: 1) you are prepared for losing at least part of your security deposit due to normal wear; 2) you are prepared for ant invasion if you are on ground floor; 3) you are confident that you never have any issue with them, otherwise you will be bossed around by the rude staff; 4) you are willing to tolerate the irresponsible maintenance.
Had a very unfortunate experience attempting to assist a disabled person with the renting process. The staff crossed over ethical lines and acted in a manor that was anything but professional. I am not one to judge but they crossed over the line. Would not recommend this community.
They are totally money-oriented. Two of my fiends stayed in my apartment for few days, and they suddenly broke into my room said that I isolated the lease. They didnt even care what I was explaining. THAT WAS NOT COOL! They told me that I need to a a ridiculous amount of isolation fee. That was....
2022-07-24 edit: Downgraded to one star. We live in a NO PETS building, yet downstairs neighbors moved in with two dogs that bark constantly whenever the front door opens. Management claims that nothing can be done, even though my wife is an ICU nurse at strong and works nights (and cant sleep through the barking). The staff is usually nice, but management only cares about your money and their perceived reputation. Its totally ok for them to ignore the no pets but you can be 100% sure if we did one minor thing to break our lease they would not let it slide. Having to seriously consider legal action since it has prevented my wife from getting adequate sleep before which means we lose income.Previous Review:Rustic is insanely hit or miss. The apartment is nice enough, but the staff is 50/50 very helpful or insanely rude.I once had a maintenance guy be extremely rude to me because I called for assistance because Amazon delivered a very expensive package to the interior of a wrong apartment and I was worried it would get stolen. The lady who took my call was very kind, but the worker who retrieved my package was like I have a problem with you! How dare you call the emergency maintenance for me to get your package at 11pm! I explained how I called the number because of the price and that the lady who answered was the one who called him, but he just kept accusing me of calling him to get my package.Another time, my air conditioner was broken and they kept refusing to replace it because it was an intermittent problem where it worked sometimes but not always. A repair person came over and was like oh it isnt working because you have it off as if I were a moron. Despite video evidence and me explaining that it was an intermittent problem, they still took months to fix it.

2022-07-05Entertainment Center.100%♿️ accessibility.Beautiful, large entertaining room for their residents availability with only a refundable security deposit. Small kitchen area with large commercial glass door refrigerator & ice cube machine, too.Bright, with glass wall of windows & doors adjacent to the pool area. Small dance floor in the middle with many tables & chairs, coat room & nice bathrooms. Was perfect for the small family wedding we had. Really nicely maintained, landscaped large urban complex.

2022-02-17My partner and I lived in Rustic Village from 2016 to 2021 and we generally had a great time. It’s not super fancy or luxury but it can be a place called home for a while.Good aspects:1. Fantastic location especially for U of R or MCC students. It’s close enough to grocery stores, malls and everything. Public transportation is available.2. Fitness center and building windows are renovated recently. And I love the swimming pool!3. The rental rate is reasonable.4. All the staff we’ve met from the very first to last day are very helpful and friendly. Maintenance technicians always respond in a timely manner.Things that could have been improved:1. Mold in bedroom2. Noise made by heating system3. Generally dated building, so the floors and walls might be thin and you could hear your neighbors4. Bug problem if you’re in a pet friendly building

2022-06-15Enjoyed living here. The apartments are spacious and clean. The maintenance staff and resident relations office are very friendly and help you with issues on time. It gets very hot in the summer months though and there is no central air conditioning.

2020-09-27We lived here for two years and it was a really good apartment complex. Apartment includes everything needed and great outdoors. A very safe neighborhood and the management was really good with maintenance and any other issue we had. Has laundry in building and a space to store bikes. Also separate storage units for each apartment. They are good with cleaning snow in roads during winter. Also bus route goes through the area and for RIT and University of Rochester students school shuttles go through the area. Enough parking space for everyone. We made sure to thoroughly clean everything and got the full security deposit. They increase the rent each year but without any development in the apartment condition and it was too much for us. That’s the reason for moving. Highly recommend specially as the first apartment in the area.

2022-03-07We lived in Rustic village for 4 years. The place has ease of accessibility to super markets and UofR/RIT schools as well. The apartments has well maintained pathways and dog friendly. The maintenance team responds quickly for any issues and very secure neighborhood.

2021-01-31The location is fantastic for students. Its close to several colleges and grocery stores are right down the road. There are also great amenities such as a pool, gym, and park. The grounds and maintenance staff are fantastic. Repairs are done quickly and parking lots are always plowed. However the buildings are very old. If you live in the ground units, creaking floors allow you to hear the upstairs neighbors walk about. Also, despite having control over your units thermostat, there is an upper limit around 72F which, of course, is not a bad temperature, but the old buildings are poorly insulated. This combination always makes you wish it was a bit warmer in the winter. Bathrooms definitely suffer an airflow problem. This causes a build up of mold on the bathroom ceiling. We had maintenance investigate this, only to find that our units fan was brand new - just cheap. The air condition is wall mounted in the living room. This is really nice in the summer, however the way units are constructed do not allow air to flow through the hall into the bedrooms. We ended up having to set several fans up to push the air through the hall into the bedrooms. You can imagine what the electric bill was like, especially having to work from home in the summer.

2021-09-02I dont usually write reviews but my experience has been awesome living here. Good amenities and good staff. I had bees in my wall (crazy situation) but I called maintenance and they had someone over here in less than 10 minutes to assess the situation (after working hours nonetheless) and the exterminator was here the next morning. Good clean apartments, never had any problems with neighbors. Super safe place, never feel unsafe walking around at night. Great place to live! Im moving out due to a new job but I wish I could push the apartment complex to my new location.

2020-07-07Me and my family have stayed in rustic for almost 18 months, only reasons for me to pick this place was that it is close to my University and had a childrens play area with decent rent. I would say my stay here was good mostly except the rodent issue, it was extremely horrifying to see rodent crawling in my apartment where Im living with kids. All the management people did was putting traps which the rodent easily came through. My sincere advice is never take the first floor apartments they are visited by insects, ants and rodents.Apart my experience residing there after I vacated all I got to know was that they wouldnt return my deposit fee saying there are dots on the carpet and walls costing me nearly $700.Frankly speaking even with few issues staying there I was on overall basis quite happy with Rustic management but after seeing the closing costs Im highly unsatisfied.

2019-12-21I would give zero stars if possible. The leasing office employees are always money oriented and doesn’t want to spend one second hearing your concerns if it doesn’t profit them. They are very partial to Indians staying there. They just tell they don’t understand you and tell you to mail your concerns and it becomes tedious process even for simple problems.I had a very bitter experience with them after moving out when they sent me the bill for a mini makeover of the whole apartment as damage charges. Including carpet replacement and 2 coats of paint for the whole house. When I asked explanation they just kept telling the charges are fair. All these just for 1 year of occupancy. I could not imagine the state of people moving out after few years of stay there. The best part is they charge $200 as redecorating fee before moving in. So they charge both the tenants moving in and out for the paint. Family with kids pls stay clear of this community. It is only suitable only for students who use the apartment for just sleeping at night with just one table chair and bed.

2019-01-23DO NOT MOVE HERE! The maintenance staff is their biggest bug!!They cannot really repair or maintain anything. Every time they blame the old building as an excuse of their useless.. If Rustic Village didnt replace their maintenance manager and staff, more and more tenants will move out.I moved out the end of last year. Enough is enough. My new apartment gave me good experiences. No smock smell, no noises, clean and comfort. More important, their management and maintenance guys are friendly, caring and professional.MOST IMPORTANT, before you chose here, go through those negative reviews first. Thats the reality you will face when you move in!!
