This place had such mixed reviews, and being that I Love Middle Eastern food I had to try it for myself.Went around dinner time after shopping nearby. I ordered the Arab Chix roll that everyone has photos of. They were nice enough to let me sub the Cole slaw. They bring the food to you but seem to forget napkins.I ate outside, as the lighting inside is yucky. Fries are crisp as everyone says and seasoned with some addictive powder that seems to have sugar in it. Chix is ok, moist with a lemon-grassy flavor, dark meat so a bit in the oily side for me. Labneh (aka white sauce) is super salty and they didn’t have many non-soda options, so I was parched. My tabbouleh was fresh but the oil they used seems rancid, so I didn’t finish it. The spicy sauce was probably the best thing I had... I was nervous this would make sick, it was mainly heavy and I didn’t feel bad until the next day. This is basically a greasy shawarma joint, not really home cooking... *sorry about the bad photo- I have to delete some stuff bc my camera is slow
Changed my review from 4 stars to one star. Ordered food the other night my falafel sandwich made my stomach hurt. Also ordered a soup wasn’t filled to the top it was good but not sure why they didn’t fill the soup to the top. See picture below that’s how I got the soup.
Tried falafel plate and dolmades. Falafel was served along with some rice, salad and pita bread. I liked the falafel, it had good flavors and the right amount of seasoning. However, the rice had an oily coating and a not so good after-taste. Dolmades could have been better!
It’s not like before. The taste changed a lot. Moroccan people are working there now not Syrian as before so maybe they changed the taste I don’t know but I used to go there a lot but I won’t go anymore. The fat chef is so dirty and disgusting he was cleaning his sweat with his hand and then make my shawarma.
Not sure what happened to this place! They used to better than Karam… went today for the first time since probably before COVID and was looking forward to their arabic chicken shawarma…. boy was I disappointed. The fries used to be seasoned with zaa’tar, now they’re not even seasoned with salt. Coleslaw used to be fresh and crunchy, now it was soaked in mayonnaise and was warm from having the fries placed on top. Worst of all the sandwich had no taste. Barely any pickles and the garlic sauce tasted more they are trying to imitate the halal truck “white” sauce versus authentic toum (garlic sauce). 2 stars because at least it was edible.
Amazing food, the owner has a very kind heart, and cooks the food for her customers the way she would genuinely cook for her family back home. This is my go-to spot for quick Arabic food in bay ridge! Authentic spices are used- every pie I tried was amazing, and the spinach/feta are my favorite! Try any of the shawarma platters and you won’t be disappointed. Their French fries are amazing~ decor is beautiful and most importantly everything is spotless! Amazing place-
We had takeout from Ruzana and loved everything we ordered. Our kids had the Kofta Kebab platter and loved it. My wife and I split the Arabic Chicken Shawarma platter and Falafel platter and both were excellent. The shawarma was especially good. We also got a side order of hummus. Perfectly made!
This place looks great on the outside not very inviting when you walk in the floor inside needs some work plugs are sticking out and it needs tlc with, not the best layout. I ordered musukhan rolls and chicken shwarma platter with sambusa to go, the food was a little greasy but otherwise fantastic! Our meal was very flavorful, delicately plated generous toasted almond topping. The fresh dill on the slaw was delicious. We really enjoyed our meal my only complaint is the garlic sauce was tasting a little too much like mayo not enough garlic otherwise We loved it and will order again!
This little place is awesome! The food tastes super fresh and the aroma of the food takes you straight to the Middle East. The people are very friendly and even accepted the hugs my toddler loves to give out, the nice man at the counter gave her a free little tray of baklava. The space was a bit small and limiting so you may have to wait for a table but its definitely worth it if you do
First time ordering from this place. My wife and I love Middle Eastern food. I must say, the food was probably one of the top Middle Eastern places I have ordered from.We both had the same dishes.Chicken Shawerma Platter:Middle eastern specialty assortment of thinly sliced seasoned chicken, with a side of rice or fries, salad, and garlic sauce.Baba Ghanouge:Mashed smokey grilled eggplant blended with tahini, lemon and garlic, served with homemade Arabic bread. The food was amazing and the ingredients were very fresh. The Service is just as good. Delivery took less than 30min.
I’d like to start off by saying the seating arrangements and scenery are nice. That said the food is absolutely butt I don’t complain about prices but I went with a group of six people and we ordered four different dishes all were bland and terrible, personally my chicken Adana tasted like charcoal. The staff was pretty nice but the fact that they didn’t feel guilty selling me this food doesn’t help. I don’t understand how people say the food here is delicious, sounds fishy if you ask me, this is the worst middle eastern restaurant I’ve been to in terms of quality of food. Honestly i was looking for plankton because all I could taste was chum.
Just had one of the best shawarma. The chicken was fresh and juicy wrapped inside thin bread which was baked perfectly and was crispy. Fries were delicious and coleslaw made great combination with other things in plate. Great experience. Definitely coming back again and again.
Update: grandma is no longer there making good stuff.. the lamb is dry like over cooked, even tho I asked for no rice they gave me a plate full with no salad ..the rice is also over seasoned .. the kibeh is trash now ... Overall the new cook blowsTheir shawarma is bomb af!.. Grandma makes good stuff
This place is very good (talking about everything food ,employees ,prices and cleanliness) it’s actually my go to every time I feel like not cooking, I really appreciate them and their food ,BUT one thing bothers me a looooooot from this place is the rice they make !!! Full full full of cloveswhich makes it taste awful, I already complained about it many many times but they don’t wanna do anything about it , I’m very sad I don’t go there that often anymore just because of that , I hope they read my review and they spend some effort to do some changes ! NO CLOVES in the rice pleaaaase
We tried for the first time the Lamb liver sandwich,Mansaf, Falafel, today and the food was great, freshly cooked very tasty and well presented. The owner and staff were attentive and service overall was good. Overall a good meal and great value we will certainly be going back.
First of all, cashier was very unfriendly. Did not say hello when I said hello, ignored, I was served very unprofessionally. The workers looked like they were working in slow motion. Prices are very high. And this food got me sick. I won’t be shocked if this food was stored frozen for months or even years before it was cooked. I got a stomach virus and was sent to the hospital. I want this place to pay for my medical bill.... oh also one of the workers needs to pick his pants up. Crack is wack.
Always great service to go along with the great food! Its good tasting food, with decent prices as well. I always get the Falafel and it is amazing, my girlfriend has gotten the shawarma a few times as well and loves it. You can take out or sit in, if you decide to sit in youll enjoy the cozy, well decorated environment.
3rd time eating from there and the food is always AMAZING and the service is EXCELLENT. My go to spot for something other than the usual food thats around my job. Love It...Happy and Forever Customer.P.S You guys should consider opening a spot in the Bronx and Harlem.
This is the worst shawerma ever. It got me sick after and I didn’t even finish my plate. The chicken was raw and the salad was so salty I couldn’t even eat it. No I have fever and stomach problems because of it. Please be careful because it got me and 3 of my friends sick and we all had the same problems. This is the worst spot ever. And there shawerma is not even good. This is disgusting
This restaurant is outstanding. Everything is just wow. Their decoration is fabulous. The guy in the front is so nice. The place is clean and the music they play takes you to the middle east. I had to drive for more than an hour to get there after a friend recommended the place to me. We ordered the Chicken Shawarma and hummus and this is the best Shawarma I ever tasted in the States. It is so delicious that I had to order two more. Prices are decent too. If you want to try Shami food this is definitely your spot. Will be back for sure and will recommend it for friends and family.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. When I first ordered shawarma from here the food was great. Place was new back then. I decided to order food just now, and I must say I was very disappointed. There was no shawarma meat just all fat. It wasnt edible at all. I felt like I paid $9 each for a piece of bread since that was the only thing I could consume. Horrible place. I can never understand why any restaurant would serve this type of poor quality food to their customers. Were the one that keep you in business. Were the one that can destroy your business. Regrettably you dont care much about your reputation when you served and knowingly delivered me this garbage. I use to recommend people to your restaurant, now I wont.
The Best Arabic food In BayRidge, nice and well mannered crew, fair price, fresh food, cozy place.Im Brazilian, my family and I love Arabic food and we were pretty happy when We meet this location. If compared with Samias restaurant we can title if food without atitude.
Probably the best middle eastern food I had. The decor was put you in a vibe that you are in a middle eastern restaurant. Everything complimented the atmosphere. Put door seating also. The food was fresh and delicious. I would have to say dont get to full on shawarma or platter dishes and get yourself one of the desserts. Everything was on point. Its crazy thats its all the way in bayridge. It was actually worth going. I would go all the way down there again just to have that again.
Dry dry dry, the meat, shawarma and pies were old and dry. I placed an order for delivery. Honestly between the reviews and what I heard I expected better. And I ordered rice pudding, they didnt have, they should of called me to tell me like other places do. Instead Im stuck with some horrible dessert to top off dry dry dry meal.
If anyone wants zaatar pie - DO NOT EVEN TRY IT! THEIRS IS HORRIBLE, their bread looks like a rotten biscuit/bread from Popeyes with zaatar on top! The bread is an ugly shade of grey and beige - actually looks rotten, texture is horrible its almost like theyre mixing all kinds of flour in there! Its disgusting and drenched in oil 🤢 - no - never again!
Simply Amazing. I know people recommend Tanoreen for Middle Eastern food but Ruzana is a VERY close second. I have already had their falafel, chicken and meat schwarmas, pies, and hummus. They also have the best Kibbeh I have ever had ((including all the places I have ate in.while working in the MENA region). The food is flavorful, generous portions, and friendly staff make it a must.
Little gem hidden in Bay Ridge. The staff was super nice and patient with us asking questions. The chicken shawarma sandwich w/ fries was good, enough for two to split. The fries had a very cajun like seasoning on them. Google shows it opening at 2pm, but we were just there at 1pm on a Friday and they were open. Outdoor seating is another plus!
We didn’t plan to go there for dinner but somehow we ended up going there and I am glad we did. Their Shawarma Arabic is delicious and very flavorful. This place is small with limited seating but well organized. Worth visiting this place. And of course, everything is halal.
I have been going there for quiet sometime their food is good and price was also. But now they are becoming greedy and cheap like they use to give coleslaw with there wrapes n burgers but today the lady charged me for coleslaw and that your 6.12 dollars which was a shock that for a small box 6 dollars way to much and fries are less too.I request the owner to look into it.
We just found a new favorite place to eat ❤.Delicious food and amazing customer service. We first tried the food when we actually were just driving and thought to just try it. The guy there told us to try the arabic shawarma .. which we fell in love with and ordered another one. After eating in the restraunt a few times we thought of ordering it for delivery. 1st time we got the delivery it was a dissapointment food was very cold and dry. We called the manager and he was so friendly and apologized and ask us if we wanted a replacement food or full refund. I told him we will try ordering one more time in a few days. So he said whenever we order it would be free of charge.Ok so we ordered the same food today with an extra drink. The food was fresh, tasty and flavorful. Plus they gave us free complimentry dessert(which was delicious too). And they did not charge us forthe extra drink.I would highly recommend everyone to give this place a shot. And i have already shared this with all my family and friends.
We were looking for an authentic chicken shawrma for years now, and this place had everything needed for the taste buds to feel satisfied. The bread in which they make the shawrma is not pita bread, but thier original hand made bread which is flat, and authentic. It was our first time here, and the service was excellent. The owner, Muddasir was pleasant to talk to, and also gave us complimentary falafel. The staff too was very good to talk to. Their hummus was tasty, and falafels were fresh, and yummy too. I would definitely come again, and recommend this place for their food, service, and ambience.
Read about this place a while ago and finally stopped in. They guy at the counter was incredinly patient as I asked questions, and he enthusastically introduced us to their signature dish. We decided to sit outside, which was so lovely (being off 5th Ave, its not as busy). We got the chicken shawarma platter; it was tasty but I wish it had had more pickles and maybe a bit more salt. Will go back and try other things!
Tonight was my first visit and let me tell you it was the best falafel ever. First of all they used a special wrap and the spices were superb. They didnt skimp on the tahini sauce at all like some places do. This falafel was about a foot long. I must admit I did wait a bit long just for a falafel and fries because they seemed to be busy with outside orders but after tasting that special sandwich, it was worth the wait. Trust me when I tell you that the other falafels cant compare. I just happened to be in the neighborhood but I will travel from Canarsie to get another....Martina
Just the right price for the right food. The place is beautiful as well to eat in though not for huge crowds. Would definetely recommend. But shwarma was dry a bit. Karam restaurant Shwarma is much more juicy and filled with salad and sauces. So please improve on that. Thanks
I never write reviews, but I had to just to sing the praises of the falafel sandwich here. The falafel is super fresh, extremely well seasoned, and the bedouin bread they do it on is so amazing. Perfectly chewy and soft. Its the best falafel sandwich Ive had. Because its rolled up so tightly, the falafel and the salad and hummus all get evenly distributed throughout the sandwich. Im looking forward to getting through the rest of the menu! Although its hard to not order the falafel. Staff is friendly, which goes a long way.
Please Read!!I ordered food from here via grubhub and waited almost an hour for the food to arrive. Once it arrived, I was very displeased with the way my order was handled by the driver, it was held side ways with the oils leaking out the styrofoam containers into the bag because the driver was very careless. I DIDNT get any hello, how are you or any form of greeting. The driver placed the food in my hand and I said thank you and he then proceeded to ask me for a tip. I politely said I dont have any tip, I paid using a credit card and I dont have any cash on hand. I then closed my door and I overheard him say idiot. Ive never felt so disrespected by a FOOD delivery person in my entire LIFE. I didnt want to cause a big scene in my hallway, being that it was after 1am in the morning, but he needs to be fired immediately!!! HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT A CUSTOMER IN THAT MANNER AT THEIR RESIDENCE THAT IS PATRONIZING YOUR BUSINESS OVER A TIP YOURE NOT ENTITLED TO! IVE WORKED IN CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR MANY YEARS AND I NEVER WOULD DISRESPECT A CUSTOMER LIKE THAT! YOURE NOT TO EVEN INQUIRE ABOUT A TIP, ITS SOLELY UP TO THE CUSTOMER IF THEYD LIKE TO GIVE YOU ONE. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, my French tries were soggy and cold. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone until they fire that bum and hire professional people with ACTUAL customer service skills. I am appalled and disgusted! He NEEDS TO BE FIRED! I will be visiting that location to speak with a manager to ensure that hes jobless!THANKS
We were in the neighborhood and stopped in after a day of shopping; before we even stepped in the shop, you can smell the aroma of deliciousness. We went in, started perusing the menu and display cases & then someone came over and helped us decide: schwarma chicken, zatar, lahmajeen, & falafel sandwich. Yum!Definitely will go back again. Have to try the baba ganoush & tabouleh.
Very bad service, very cheap with the food. Ever since the new owners took over its been only going down hill. Way smaller portions and food tastes old and like it was sitting out for a while. Food used to taste good now its horrible. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.
Weve been there multiple times, food is nice and tasty, have no doubts about it, thanks for serving really nice suff. BUT, HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE waiting time to get your food whether you eat in or taking you food to go, it has never been less than 45min! Absolutely unacebtable waiting time! Also tables inside are sticky and dirty sometimes(will post the pictures later) Last time we went there I ordered a lot of stuff and told the lady on the counter that Im going to eat in, then and asked her to please give me the rice instead of the fries with whawarma, she ignored me and then I asked again her said ok, guess what? THEY GAVE ME ALL THE FOOD PACKED FOR TO GO AND OF COURSE THEY DID NOT GIVE ME THE RICE INSTEAD OF THE FRIES! I told her that I wanted to eat in, plus it was raining outside, she and one of the chef guys were looking and me and they did not even said sorry, nothing, not even a word, they ignored me and since I have paid for the food I took it home. There were 2 other customers who came 10-15min after me,whem they were eatimg their food already, I was still waiting for mine to be prepared. Well, thank you, I WILL NEVER COME BACK EVEN THOUGH I LIKE THE FOOD, I WAS ALWAYS RECOMENNDING TO MY FRIENDS TO TRY THIS PLACE, BUT WOULD NEVER DO AGAIN!!!!
Quaint cozy Middle Eastern find on 85th Street off 4th Avenue. Excellent take out and some space for eating in. Tasty and friendly. This is Middle Eastern with a Jordanian flare. It opened its doors early 2017 and even though it is hidden away from 4th Avenue it has developed a significant following. And has falafel and shwarma for easy quick meal. Food is among the best in Bay Ridge.

2022-02-07This place is a gem! Food there is sooo tasty and the portions are big that you will most likely end up taking leftovers home (also a plus not to cook the next day!)Prices are very reasonable and honestly with food that good, other places would charge you waaaay more.I went there with my family and a small group of friends and we ordered a bunch of stuff ( Shawarma platter, Mansaf platter, burger and fries, Msakhan and stuffed grape leaves) and some appetizers salad, hummus and fries, Tabbouleh.Everything I tried was good and tasty, staff were very welcoming and friendly. On a side note, we noticed they were packing a huge order to go and out of curiosity we asked and came to know that they cater events and parties and that order was a stuffed lamb! It looked huge 😄Highly recommend the place, a must try if you ever were in bay ridge area, Brooklyn.

2021-03-20Ordered the Arabic falafel platter. A dish well put together. The falafel was inside a wrap and included fresh Mediterranean ingredients. The hummus in this dish was good quality. The fries have to be my favorite part of the whole dish though. It’s like they are seasoned with a garlic & herb salt. They taste delicious.

2022-01-25The food here is pretty good. I got the meat shawarma platter. Would have liked some bread with it, but basically I ate the whole thing and enjoyed it, so how bad could it be? I will eat here again. This was takeout, by the way.

2019-06-24My husband enjoyed their food. I personally found the baba ganoush to be bland and I didnt like the shawarma because it was all dark meat.

2022-02-21The best shawarma in all of bay ridge! Babaghanoush to die for. The way they wrap there sandwiches is so precise, and makes for an organized, delectable sandwich!
