Dr Troy and the dental assistants were amazing! I was a little nervous bringing my 1 year old to the dentist for the first time, but they made it soo easy! They were amazing with my Daughter and I can’t recommend them enough!

I am a periodontist and drove over an hour (from NJ) to have my child evaluated by Dr. Charles.He is great with kids, friendly and very bright. He is also a very skilled and conservative pediatric dentist. The office is very neat and has a lot of cool things for kids. Of course once the pandemic eases, Im sure it will be even cooler.Really great experience!
Dr. Debbie and Dr. Charles are both bar none amazing! They are meticulous and so caring. They treat my four children with such attention, kindness and care. They hone in on even the slightest detail that I think could easily be missed. And the office staff are so lovely, professional and detail oriented. Not to mention the cleanliness and fun appealof the office. You feel like you are on an actual movie set. My kids would love to come to every day!!! I recommend Rye Smiles to everyone I know.
My children actually look forward to going to Rye Smiles. Magic happens in their offices. The doctors and staff are so kind. I really appreciate their ability to get all 3 of my kids in chairs at the same exact time so a visit to the dentist for all 3 doesn’t take long at all.
My daughter had a great first time visit!! Everyone in the office was very friendly. My daughter tends to be nervous in new settings and Dr Troy and her assistant were very patient and made her feel very comfortable.

Amazing practice. I took my 3.5 year old son for his first dentist visit and he loved the experience. We walked in and immediately noticed Iron man and video games which made the experience fun. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly, brought an immediate smile. Tara the dental hygienist was extremely thorough and careful and entertained my son the entire process with no cries. Dr. Charles was wonderful and provided great tips on keeping healthy teeth. I would highly recommend Rye Smiles.
We LOVE Rye Smiles! It’s such a fun environment for the kids and everyone who works there is so nice and so knowledgeable. My kids are always praised for taking care of their teeth and leave there with so many goodies, they can’t wait to go back!
Great experience. Always attentive doctors and assistants, and set up to relax the kids (sunglasses, angled TVs so they can watch cartoons during cleaning/procedures). Our two boys have been meeting with Dr Troy and Dr Yau for years, and it’s been a consistently positive experience. I was even able to get a doc on the phone within 15 mins, off hours, and during the early 2020 lockdown — to share photos and get a consult on a chipped tooth. I definitely recommend.
All three of my children have had positive experiences at Rye Smiles. Dr. Debbie, Dr. Charles, and staff are all warm, thorough, and make going to the dentist as good as it gets. Highly recommended!!!

We LOVE RyeSmiles! My children get so excited when they know they have appointments. The hygienists are very warm kind and funny. They talk to our children and make conversation with them and it makes them feel so comfortable. They are constantly giggling with them ( while being also professional). The front desk girls are WONDERFUL WONDERFUL WONDERFUL! I can not emphasize that enough! They are always smiling, and extremely friendly. I simply love just sparking up a conversation with them. They are helpful when it comes to paper work ( since I have no idea what Im doing!) and very get impatient. Our last visit there was nothing but perfect. The only thing I will say is that, it felt a bit crowded and overwhelming , and due to COVID issues, I will feel more comfortable waiting for things to get better before returning to the office . But other than that, we love it there! Thanks for everything RyeSmiles!
We absolutely love Dr Charles and his staff! He is so thorough and patient and I love how he explains and demonstrates all the tools before he uses them on the kids. I highly recommend him to all friends and anyone looking for a great pediatric dental experience!
This a the second time we have taken our two children to this office. Now they are 4 and 6 and very particular about their teeth. The fun decor, excellent staff, and flexible attitudes made the experience simple and painless.Honestly, we put all screen time restrictions aside. The big TVs and child programming made things a lot easier. They even got xrays done!!
I never write reviews, but had such a great experience with Rye Smiles/Dr. Charles today I thought I’d share in case it helps someone else out. I recently moved to the area and as usual had to find a whole new network of doctors for my family. This office is great, kids loved the “attractions” so much they didn’t want to leave (treasure crane machine that doesn’t need quarters!) Everyone in the office is fantastic... my son was having a bit of emotional time handling the X-ray process and they didn’t push him on it. Dr. Charles is very sweet with children and is an exceptional dentist. We’ll be back!
I can not recommend them enough. Dr. Charles and Dr. Troy and the entire staff are friendly and amazing with my children. They seem to know how to deal with every type of child (nervous, shy, etc) and are able to send them all off happy. They have gone over and above to make sure that their office is now clean and safe in Covid times and I have no doubts or fears that my kids are safe.
Rye smiles was fantastic. It was so quick and easy to make an appointment for a chipped tooth. They reattached the tooth quickly and my daughter felt comfortable through the whole process. Highly recommend.
The BEST!!! We had such a wonderful experience here last week. My children are 4.5 and 2 and it was a breeze! Dr. Debbie is a fantastic pediatric dentist! She is smart, very thorough, focused to get the job done before the kids lose interest and patient with younger ones that may be scared. Also, a very nice person. Her staff is professional and SUPER friendly, everyone we encountered greeted us with a big smile and talked to my kids. Last but certainly not least, the waiting room is AMAZING and makes a great first impression. My older child is already asking to go back!!! Never thought I would hear that!! Dr. Debbie, I can’t thank you enough!!
Dr. Debbie and her team are excellent. We have been going there for a few years now and we have been very happy. Dr. Debbie and her staff are very receptive to sensory kids. If you have a sensory child, then you will feel comfortable and confident that he/she will be treated gently, correctly, and with a friendly smile.Our family has been to other kid friendly dental offices and we recently moved to northern Westchester, but we still come down to Rye to get quality dental care for our kids. Some places advertise as kid friendly, but Rye Smiles is the best.
Dr. Troy is the sweetest!! Her staff is so amazing with the kids and parents. I went to one dentist before being recommended to her office and I have to say it was a HUGE difference. My daughter loves going there! The movie theater theme is genius! I wish I could be treated here LOL Not only are they phenomenal, the office is always clean and well kept. Rye Smiles=Rye Playland to all 4 of my kids from 11year old to 2 year old. When you go in the office, it’s the place where kids can spend all day having fun in there. Not only the decor is so attractive to kids, all the staffs are so warm and genuine.We love Dr. Charles. He is so natural with kids and very knowledgeable and professional! We are so happy that we chose Rye Smiles for our kids’ dentistry and I wished I had that experience growing up. Dr. Yao gave us new electric Quip toothbrushes for my 4 kids and the boys have been brushing much better and really enjoy them. They come with a carry case and watermelon flavored toothpaste in regular and travel size. I highly recommend!

Our kids (8 and 5 year olds) LOVE coming to Rye Smiles! They actually get pumped up about coming. Everyone including the staff is super friendly and professional.The waiting room is a blast with games, movies and plenty of other things for kids to do.(This is especially helpful if you have multiple kids.)The whole visit is low stress for the kids. The kids can even watch TV during their procedure.Dr. Charles is very warm and wonderful with our kids. Hes really good about explaining to our kids what hes going to do and why hes going to do it. I tell all my friends to definitely check out RyeSmiles. I cant recommend it enough.
This is truly The BEST pediatric dental practice I’ve ever taken my kids to. The entire staff treats you like family & they bend over backwards to take care of the kids & make sure they are comfortable. Oh.. & did I mention how fun the inside decor of the office is?!! The kids are always excited to see the latest movie posters & play the video games!!!! This is a fun,first class practice that your kids will love & you as well!!!
I love Rye Smiles. We take both of our daughters there and they both love it. The doctors and hygienists are very nice and thorough, and they remember us each time...which in todays world is too often uncommon. Best of all, the kids actually look forward to going to the dentists because of the amazing lobby... I mean a claw machine full of toys! I love that our girls think the dentist is fun...because of Rye Smiles.
Dr. Debbie Troy was very patient and calm with my daughter who has severe anxiety. She moved around my daughter and did everything possible to ease her fears. Shes one of a kind!!!

The movie theme and decor are amazing here. Our kids love to come to the dentist because of the great staff and of course Dr. Debbie and Dr. Charles! With the TV screens they have for each dental chair, our kids dont worry about the dental check or cleaning. We would highly recommend this dentist office to all our friends and family.
My son’s pediatrician recommended RyeSmiles and we’re so glad she did. What an AMAZING experience. It was my sons very first trip to the dentist so we were all kind of nervous. As soon as we walked through the doors we greeted by the most friendly staff I’ve ever encountered. They were all so kind courteous. The staff is very knowledgeable and their level of customer service is out of this world. The dentist and his assistant were great with my son they explained the examination step by step to us. They had my sons favorite tv program on during the exam (Sesame Street). He also was rewarded at the end of his visit for being a good patient (Huge Toy Chest).The actual facility reminds me of Playland. It was themed with Marvel Comics characters, there were all types of games, a mini movie theater, and one of our arcade favorites Claw. My husband and I didn’t want to leave. They also gave us great tips and advice for keeping my son’s teeth healthy. I highly recommend RyeSmiles 16 School Street Rye, NY!!!
Dr Troy’s office is a big hit with all of our kids!!! The doctors are kind and thorough and everyone in the entire office makes it a great experience!I will also add that my 9 Year old had SIX teeth pulled here (three each time) and left smiling each time!!! Nothing really tops that. I’m waiting for grown up appointments!!
Both my children have been visiting Rye Smiles for several years. Dr. Troy and her entire staff have created a welcoming environment and a place that the kids want to go for their treatments..... a far cry from the dentist offices of my generation. I trust that others will have the same experience!
My daughter fell and chipped her tooth which left it with a sharp edge. I called a few other dentists office who couldnt get me in or told me this wasnt considered an emergency and gave me an appointment 2 months out. I called Rye Smiles and they got me in that same day. From the front staff to the doctor everyone was so professional and kind. I highly recommend them!

My 4 year old son had a wonderful experience! I am so happy to have found Rye Smiles. They were very kind and patient with him. They made him feel comfortable and used terms that he would understand so he wouldnt be afraid of what they were doing. The facilities are so kid friendly. He doesnt fear going for a follow up visit. He even lets me floss his teeth now which he did not before simply because they showed him how to floss in the office.
What a great experience. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The office is a childs dream...so fun you almost forget youre at the dentist. Dr. Deb was extremely patient and terrific with my granddaughter who was a bit anxious initially. Dr. Deb was so great with her, I will definitely recommend Rye Smiles to friends and family.
Have been using this office for 8 years now, my children (11 and 9) are always happy and relaxed to go to the dentist, and both Dr Debbie and Dr Charles, along with all their staff are patient and kind when treating them. They explain to them what they are doing, and they work quickly and appropriately when giving treatment. Never had a complaint.

We appreciate Rye Smiles approach to care for kids. First, the waiting room is entertaining and fun (not to mention clean) so it never feels like a chore to go. Also, they have comfortable and inviting exam rooms with state of the art equipment. Secondly, Dr. Charles Yau (our dentist) is a good practitioner and educator, taking the time to answer my questions and help me understand some techniques to get our 2 1/2 year old son to brush and floss effectively.Finally, the doctors and staff truly care about the kids dental health. In their demeanor and interaction, its evident that get energized working with kids.

We take both of our daughters, ages 7 and 10 to Rye Smiles and love the experience. The staff, from reception, to hygenists to dentists are all super friendly and work together and the kids so effortlessly. The likds love the suspended TVs they watch during their exams and the movies in the waiting room. Its probably the cutest doctors office weve ever used.
We love rye smiles! the dental office is a bright, clean space with a movie theme - who wouldnt want to see a life-size iron man when you first walk in?the front office staff is attentive and wonderful to speak with so making or changing an appointment is easy. there are several dentists that you can make an appointment with but we love dr. charles! he is extremely knowledgeable & always gives genuine recommendations in terms of dental care. he is animated with my son, he explains every step to my son before doing the procedure and always makes time to speak with me in terms of after care. i love that we have a dentist who genuinely cares about my sons teeth!from beginning to end, this office is all about putting kids first and allowing the parents to feel at ease when visiting the dentist.i would totally recommend this office to all my friends!

I made an emergency visit after my son knocked a tooth out. We were seen immediately. The entire staff was wonderful, they put me right at ease, and took great care of my son. I cannot recommend them enough! My son was actively looking forward to his follow up visit, as their waiting room is fully equipped with movies, games and toys. Its tough getting him to leave afterwards!

How many times have your kids asked you (with excitement) when they are going back to the dentist? I have a couple who cannot wait to see Dr. Troy and everyone and RyeSmiles. Okay, lets be real, they enjoy the waiting room and all of its distractions (fun). However, there are never any complaints or trepidation when we jump in the car. Even when they are called into the dentists room, they get cool sunglasses and the TV channel of their choosing. And the treasure chest at the end, theres a prize even if you have a cavity. RyeSmiles makes the visit to the dentist fun. [If you are not convinced, yet, I can tell you the staff is friendly and helpful.]

We could not be more pleased with Rye Smiles. From Dr. Troy and Dr. Charles to the receptionists they are all A+. My son was not a fan of the dentist and was very difficult but they had much more patience than me and my son is now very comfortable going there.
We had an amazing experience at Rye Smiles. The waiting room is like a wonderland and our kids loved it (umm, free claw game anyone!?). It made the very short wait actually enjoyable (a first for us at a medical office of any kind). Dr. Yau was extremely friendly and nice and our daughter still talks about him and her visit to the dentist. Shes an energetic child and we were worried if she could sit still. Dr. Yau had her settled and happy while he did the exam. We expected chaos and instead left with everyone feeling very happy. Imagine a 2 year old actually wanting to go back to the dentist b/c she had such a great time. You get that at Rye Smiles!
My five year old SPD daughter calls Dr. Charles “a magical superhero”! His patience and kindness are unparalleled. For years she was terrified of going into the dental chair. Instead of forcing the issue, his solution was for her to sit in a regular chair while he completed the exam and cleaning on his knees. We will never go anywhere else!

Dr. Troy is AMAZING!!! We were referred to Dr. Debbie by Dr. Kirchman after 4 unsuccessful attempts with our son. Upon walking into the office we were greeted by a life-sized Ironman, walls of video games and a 4K movie theater, along with loads of movie memorabilia and free prizes. He turned to me and said, This is cool, dad! Wearing sunglasses and watching any television program he wants during each visit, going to the dentist is more fun than staying home these days. The only thing bad about it is that I cant see Dr. Debbie and Dr. Charles for my check-ups (but I still get to hang out with Ironman, watch movies and play video games in the waiting area...).
8-yr old review:Before someone called me in to check my teeth, I went to the claw machine and tried to get a football or a dolphin. I was then called in and shown a menu of different flavors to choose from - watermelon and bubblegum - awesome! My teeth were brushed and then flossed. I got to watch Teen Titans on the TV while this was done. Then I picked out my prizes - I got like 5 different things, plus a Star Wars toothbrush! I went back to the claw after that and won the dolphin. Dr. Charles was then ready to check my teeth. Hes so cool. I have no cavities - score! I do have an extra tooth growing in my gums, which is supposedly bad, but I think its totally cool. My mom then talked to Dr. Charles while I played video games. I had a lot of fun and really like going to the dentist.
Omg... no words for Dr. Troy she is something very special. She completely calmed and won over my 2 kids with EXTREME anxiety about the dentist. There are no words quite good enough for her... she’s an amazing dentist!

2022-04-29My 4 year old son loves coming here. He thinks its the coolest place and because of that it makes it so much easier for him to be seen by the dentists. They are both great and so careful and considerate of him. They calm him down and are able to get what needs to be done done. I am grateful as I have had anxiety all my life when it comes to going to the dentist and try my hardest not to pass that along to my son. My insurance doesnt cover this practice but I pay out of pocket for the peace of mind this place gives us.

2022-01-17My daughter and I love RyeSmiles, we adore everyone there. It is such a pleasure going to the dentist, everyone is kind and super friendly. The frontdesk girls are welcoming and very attentive, the dental assistant is friendly and knowledgeable the hygienist are awesome with young and older kids they chat them up while in the chair and just like that they are done! They are like magicians! And what can I say about both Dr. Deb and Dr. Charles, theyre amazing doctors from their gentle touch, the best bedside manner and the knowledge of dentistry is the reason why you go there.

2022-04-25I adore this practice. My second child just had her first visit, while at the same time my first was getting sealants on her molars. It says something that these girls (3 and 7) were both in separate rooms and didnt mind in the SLIGHTEST when I went away to check on the other one, and I didnt feel any fears about this arrangement either because I trust so completely in the care these professionals give to their patients. They take care of the kids both emotionally and dentally, making sure the visit is comfortable and fun, so that I now have two daughters who LOVE going to the dentist.

2022-03-04Myself growing up had a traumatic experience with a dentist when I was my daughters age so I made sure to find a place where they take time and explain to my 5 year old. They were so patient with her and her first time getting xrays on her teeth. They explained everything so she understood what was going to happen and how it would feel. They are compassionate and dont get angry or frustrated when the child doesnt understand the first 10 times and they get other staff members to come in and help to see if they have another approach. It is such a wonderful place to take children for their first couple dental experience.

2022-07-07My son has autism and we go here. The dentist Charlie is extremely patient and loving to my son. He is also very knowledgeable and provides great care. I highly recommend this practice.

2021-05-19Dr. Debbie is by the far the best Dentist. I took my 3 year old son to see her today for his first visit and she was so gentle. She was able to do a cleaning and exam for a full hour with him allowing her to do everything she needed. The office is so nice, the set up is the coolest office I ever went too. Everyone was so nice and friendly. I feel so relieved my toddler son loves Dr. Debbie! She made his first experience seeing a dentist a great one! I highly recommend Dr. Debbie.

2021-09-20My special needs daughter desperately needed dental work. Weve never been able to do x-rays or thorough cleaning. We found RyeSmiles and theyve been amazing! They helped us decide on a treatment plan and walked us through every step of the way. All of the staff is caring, patient and very knowledgeable.

2021-09-08Always a great experience at Rye Smiles. Dr. Charles consistently goes above and beyond. He has been amazing with my kids and the hygienists are also always wonderful. I once had a child cry on the way there because it was NOT their turn to see the dentist.
