2022-07-21The owner was kind and welcoming. He makes the best garlic knots I’ve ever had in my life!!! The size and texture is aldente. I grew up in little Italy and with Italians my entire life; therefore, I’m picky with Authentic Italian Cuisine.

2019-12-02The Pizza was disgusting sauce is not savory at all and as u can see in the pictures lots of air bubbles on pizza. Like I’ve never seen so much air bubbles on a pizza before. Like where there should be cheese there’s a air bubble ridiculous. The Garlic knots were bland. I’ll never order from them again money wasted. I hate buying food and being disappointed.

2019-07-30Delicious slice made to order. Lots of slices to choose from. I ordered the veggie slice and as you can see it was packed full of veggies. Served piping hot.

2021-04-29S & S Calabro is practically an institution in in this Astoria community and possibly the best pizza in the area. With its uniquely thin pizza style, zesty sauce and just the right amount of cheese, you wont be able to just eat one. I highly recommend this pizza. A MUST TRY.

2018-01-17After a rough day of travel, we were in desperate need of some authentic NYC pizza so we decided to walk here. S&S is a rather small place but it was some of the best pizza Ive ever had. We decided to order a half pepperoni half cheese pizza. S&S has very limited seating but we decided to eat there anyway (this was before discovering they have free delivery). Im glad we decided to eat there because we got to watch the pizza be made and chat with the owner who was super friendly. He has owned this same spot for 40 years and is from Sicily. He knows his way around a pizza though. This was the best god damned pizza Ive ever had. Cooked perfectly with the ideal ratio of sauce to cheese. The crust was amazing. The actually restaurant is a bit dingy and is in need of an upgrade but dont let the looks fool you. We ended up paying I think $18 for the entire pizza and it was worth every penny. Sure you can get dollar pizza in Astoria but I definitely would recommend paying a little extra to get pizza from S&S.

2019-06-12The pizza was average, but the chicken wings were disgusting. Maybe I was wrong to order wings from a pizza shop, but I figured if they were on the menu, they knew how to make them. I was so wrong. I asked for the wings to be extra crispy, and so their solution was to place the wings in an aluminum tin and bake them in their oven. So instead of extra crispy wings, I got wings that were stuck to the bottom of the aluminum tin and still really fatty. I ordered the hot wings, but there was no sauce and it looked like they just sprinkled pepper flakes on the wings. I dont know how this place has been open for so long with the way they make food. Maybe its a different owner? I dont know. But what I do know is that I wont be ordering from this place again.

2018-01-11Very nice place with great pizza. The owner is very pleasant and nice if you have the chance and decide to stop in and eat there. I decided to order there on the spot and I got to see the pizza get made in front of me, from the dough being shaped to the toppings being added.

2013-05-13My experience differs than majority of reviews. Its unfortunate because I placed an order based on them - large pie with sausage and peppers. The crust was blah and the overall pizza was meh. Service is great! The guys are really friendly. When it comes down to pizza, I would order from here with hesitation.

2016-10-15A gem. Tiny little space with barely enough room for knees at the counter, and full of neighbourhood spirit and pizza love. Delicious smells whafe from the Bari pizza ovens, the proprietor speaks in a mix of Sicilian & English & Spanish to guests, the cheese is 100% mozzarella, the crust thin & crisp & tender, the pizzas baked fresh. My vegetable slice (canned mushrooms, sautéed green peppers, broccoli, spinach, chopped sweet white onions, black olives, $3.50) was made to order, and was perfect. The sauce is savory, cleanly tomato.
