Master Kim’s Taekwando School is wonderful! The instructors and staff are very friendly, and you can tell they truly love what they do. My son has been attending the school for about 7 months, and in that time, my husband and I have seen great improvement in his self-confidence, discipline, and focus.
My son started 6 years ago in the Pee wee program which was a wonderful introduction to Taekwondo focused on the self-confidence, agility and basic Taekwondo terminology. As his training progressed he expressed interest in joining the Leadership team, which requires a more extensive training commitment, but it was the best decision. Master Kim and his staff are committed to fostering an environment of camaraderie and team work with the children. He offers individual feedback and is genuinely invested in the progression of the students training. The junior instructors are great role models and offer the children a great deal of encouragement.My son is now a 1st Dan Black Belt and he still looks forward to training, promotion tests, and tournaments. He has also inspired his younger sister to also join and she is also very motived to train and prefect the art.I would strongly encourage any child with an interest in Martial arts, or Taekwondo specifically to give this school a try! You will not be disappointed!
Scarsdale Tae Kwon Do is amazing! My son has been a student here since August of 2019. I highly recommend them if your looking to get you kids into a great, confidence building extracurricular activity! My son is a shy timid child thus has been such a boost to his confidence.
For a child to come home and talk about what hes learned, the constant feed back that he receives from Master Kim about his behavior and performance in every class, and who always has the desire to go back speaks volumes about the level of attention and caring that is placed in students who attend this Tae Kwon Do school. Since my son started a little over a year ago, hes joined the Leadership Team, is learning discipline and how to focus, and is always eager to do better and get involved in activities.As a parent, my greatest experience has been watching as my son and other students are cheered on and pushed to not give up by Master Kim and the instructors...its brought tears to my eyes. I find the staff is always professional, helpful, and treat everyone with respect. We are happy to be part of this dojo! Keep up the good work!
My son has attended this school for over 5 years. The instructors there are skilled, patient and helpful in every way. Taekwondo has helped my son to be structured and focused. I recommend this school to anyone who is interested in having their child beginning martial arts.
My son loves coming here! We started a few months ago and I’ve seen a huge difference in his behavior and communication skills. They greet him by name every single time and his face just lights up! I’ll definitely bring here for years to come!
Master Kim is a very patient and kind master. He takes his time to train each and every student he has. My son has been a student of Master Kim for three and a half years and soon after my daughters and I joined. In order to test for your next belt you must train hard and prove that you are ready. Master Kim is not just handing out belts. I have been a student of Master Kim for over five years. He is a really nice and patient master. I have learned a lot of discipline and respect from him. My focus has gotten better. I am very thankful that my parents bring me to Master Kim’s Scarsdale Taekwondo because not only do I learn Taekwondo skills but I have learned many life skills from him too. My son has been a student for a little over 4 months now and he loves it more and more everyday. Within the first couple of weeks I could already see positive changes in his atitude, physical control as well as posture. Whether the classes you attend are large or small, you can count on the staff to give your child the proper attention and they won’t ever get “lost”. My son is currently a yellow belt so you can definitely count on progression with hard work.

The school is well run. Instructors and assistants are knowledgeable and professional. The children are encouraged to work up to their potential in a nurturing and non-judgemental manner. My son really enjoys attending class here. Parking is convenient and there is sufficient space for families to wait /watch the classes
When you walk in, the 1st thing you read is the following; We treat everyone with respect, every day, all the time! The entire world should be like this and it might be a better place. Let this be an example to everyone. I had the opportunity to observe a class yesterday. Who would have known that something like this actually existed. It was spectacular now the teachers were commanding their class. Learning a craft like martial arts is wonderful for children. They have parties here as well. Its a place where children can get out a lot of energy and learn to defend themselves in a very unique, dignified and classic manner, all done under the eyes of a master professional. I encourage all parents who believe their children might enjoy something like this or children who ask to learn about it, to come and see what its all about. This is quite a show, I promise you!
I have known Master Kim since high school time when we were sparring athletes. He is such a warm-hearted, passionate, thoughtful person that delivers his positive energy towards everyone around him! My son has been training under Master Kim for almost 5 years and he has learned respect, perseverance, as well as physical fitness. I have been training as a student of master Kim for 3-4 years. Master Kim is a very good teacher, he has taught me how to have confidence and self-discipline not just taekwondo skills. I really recommend this taekwondo school.

Black belts for sale!If you are not interested in training, but just need a black belt, you are in the rights place!But dont you ever complain about the quality of training, or your injuries - you are pretty much on your own there. One instructor per 40 students - if you train your own self, you get sent for a test, and, because the benchmark tests depend on whether you pay for a year in advance or 3 years in advance, you are guaranteed to pass the tests eventually. Pay for a year and get dragged, pay for 3 years and get it sooner. BTW, even if do really well at an open championship and visibly technically better then your schoolmates, it is still not good enough if you dont pay 3 years in advance, you just get held back and dont get sent to the tests until you pay. I think, there is a not nice term for it milking for money... I am not trying to be rude, but I was clearly told this...and after that, I decided to leave-I am not interested in fighting with the system of broken values, I was purely interested in Tae Kwon Do training.If you prefer to think about Tae Kwon Do as a club, where you just kill your free time, this is the right place, but this is not a Tae Kwon Do training SCHOOL.

My son attends the Little Tigers class and now that hes been going for over 3 months, likes it a whole lot! Took some getting use to, since hes very shy but now looks forward to going.

2021-09-04My 7 year old daughter loves her Taekwondo class at Master Kim’s. She is always excited with her class twice a week and always leaves happy and more energetic. She learns to be disciplined, be respectful and do self defense. The masters and instructors are very hands on and pay attention to each student. The staff in the front desk are also helpful and accommodating. My husband and I are glad we made a right decision to enroll her at Master Kim’s Taekwondo Scarsdale.

Further this place is indoors…so is a great place for parents and guardians to wait indoors in winter time.

2021-09-09I definitely recommend you parents MASTER KIM’S TAEKWONDO!!I signed up my son about 4 month ago and not only he loves coming to his classes it helps them to be more responsible, respectful and helps keep them in great shape!I personally enjoy the events they provide for the students like the BELT TESTING and BOARD BREAKING not only it’s fun to watch but it helpa students work harder for the next level!Please give it a try! Staff is very friendly and helpful at all times.

2021-04-20Cant say enough good things about Master Kim and his teachers. This discipline is amazing, my girls have been going since they were 4, now 7. They never complain. The classes are very well organized, not a boring moment and each kid gets plenty of attention. Their students help teach the class. These kids are fantastic, I wouldnt mess with them. Reasonably priced, they get money for belt tests and stuff but all good. Before vivid they had great parties where we just dropped them off. If you need some discipline and focus in your kid bring em down.

2017-05-30My son has been attending this school for 5 years and absolutely loves it! Master Kim is such a thoughtful, kind and motivating teacher. The school does not only teach the physical aspects of TKD well, but also the mental focus, perseverance and integrity that lasts longer after class is over. Enrolling our son in this school is one of the best decisions my husband and I have made. Its an investment of time and money that truly pays off in the short and long term.

2020-11-11My son has been a student of Master Kim for close to 2 1/2 years. He loves the school and enjoys working hard for Master Kim, Master Kang, and the instructors because he knows that Master Kim genuinely cares for him. Master Kims school has been the one consistent part of our lives during the covid lockdown. His school adjusted to the needs of the students and families in a matter of days. The school has planned countless activities for the students and families, which make the bond even stronger between the Masters, instructors, and students. I think the other families would agree with me in saying that Master Kim has worked very hard at creating a Taekwondo family among the students and parents. We are very happy with our decision to join Master Kims Scarsdale Taekwondo.

2018-08-10My son has been at Master Kim’s Scarsdale Taekwondo Do for 3 years and it has been a wonderful experience for both him and me! Watching him grow each class and get stronger both physically, mentally, and emotionally has been amazing! He looks forward to going to each class too! The instructors, masters and students(and Ann) have helped my son grow, are warm and friendly and make each class exciting. 2017-06-02Black Belts are Earned here through hard work , discipline & progress!!!Its simply the Best Taekwondo School!!We have been coming to Master Kims Scarsdale Taekwondo for over four years. This is a school where everybody is treated with kindness, love and respect, not sometimes but all the time!!!Starting at the front desk, Ann always has a smile for us and she is always kind and very supportive.Children are very happy and work very hard in the classes. There is always a great setup, a Master, Instructors and student helpers in each class.The students are challenged and motivated to do their best in each class. They are learning not only from the best Master and Instructors but also from each other. Each student is treated with individual attention and tested when they reach the next level .My son, Nicholas started here when he was five years old. He learned so much here, not only the best and highest quality Taekwondo but also kindness, respect and commitment which increased his self confidence tremendously and he takes that with him to all other areas of his life. Master Kim treats all of us, children and parents with kindness and respect always!He is a great role model for all of us!! Its simply the best Taekwondo school!
