I’m not big on reviews but had to share with others. Had 2 windshields on 2 different cars crack from road debris within a 2 week period of each other. Not only was customer service on the phone very professional and courteous, they met my request for oem replacement glass without a hiccup. Now, arriving at Safelite in Bethpage on both occasions , I could not be happier with the friendly , knowledgeable, and professional staff. Jason handled everything for me and outcome was outstanding. Spoke with a few of the staff members , names I don’t recall, and equally had the same positive, professional, friendly , and very fast service attitude. Thank you Staff at Bethpage for a smooth effortless transaction between a customer and business .. I just can’t believe that the negative reviews about this place can be true. I hope to not have to , but will gladly do business here again if needed in the future and will highly recommend to others.
Needed the windshield on my 2017 Subaru outback replaced plus recalibration. Shop was able to get me in faster than any other location by almost a week and was in and out in a few hours flat. Staff was extremely courteous and helpful hopefully I dont need to return but will definitely come back to those location if I ever need glass
I Couldn’t be more happier with the repair that was done on my windshield. I brought my car in on this day for a chip in my windshield. They took me right away. The front desk girl was so kind and nice and explained everything to me. My repair took less than 30 minutes. They then came outside and showed me what they did to my car and they explained everything to me in a way that I was able to understand. The service employee who repaired the chip on my windshield was so knowledgeable kind and nice. They even washed my windows and vacuum my drivers seat. The chip that was repaired look really bad before I brought it in and then when they did the repair it’s like you couldn’t even see it they did such a good job cosmetically.Everyone was so professional and nice I will definitely be returning and recommending this location to anyone who needs a windshield replacement or chip repair thanks again
I attempted to go here as they were recommended, I needed my back glass repaired and was told my glass was on nationwide back order and after waiting a month I just so happen to find the glass MYSELF and attempted to reach out to see if they can install the glass... called at 1:30pm was told the manager would call me back called back at 4:00pm because she never called me and was told she left for the weekend. Here we are Monday... still no phone call. I purchased the glass myself and got it installed in a matter of ONE day with no issues. Kinda funny. I would never go back here or recommended this place to anyone.
I had an appointment scheduled for today between 8am and 12pm. At 7am this morning, I got an email showing who tech was supposed to be. At 11:30 I got a text saying my appointment has been canceled. When I called in I was told that they needed my VIN. I supplied my VIN on the 28th when I set the appointment. I was then transferred to the shop where I was hung up on.. I called back and was told that they are seeing if they have part in stock and if not they would order it. I was told that a local guy at the shop would call me back before 3pm. I have not heard anything. I call again, get transferred to the shop where once again I am hung up on. Now I am on hold again.. I supplied my VIN 2 weeks ago and you wait till day of service to tell me you need it? I never received a phone call. I never got a voicemail. My insurance has already paid & my window is still broken.... this is ridiculous. I’m furious. And want my window fixed. Unprofessional and piss poor customer service.
Freeport safelite originally replaced my windshield and did a horrible job. I called safelite and they had Jimmy from Bethpage safelite come and replace my windshield. What an amazing clean job he did. He was on time and extremely professional. I will always contact Bethpage safelite for my windshield needs. Thank you Jimmy !!
Cracked my windshield on my 2010 Porsche 911. Was really skeptical where to bring it as i wanted it done correctly and back to OEM spec. They had their best tech Barry take care of it and the job came out flawlessly. Very impressed with the team their and would recommend again. The young lady at the counter was also very helpful. Thanks again
Wish i would have read the other reviews as well. Same experience. Used their mobile service to replace my windshield. Technician spilled primer on my interior, install was totally incorrect and he scratched the crap out of my paint not to mention black glue all over the rest of the car. Complained to store manager and he offered to correct all problems. Seemed okay so i set up another in house replacement appointment. They installed a new windshield again. this time the install looked correct but now the weatherstripping around it flies off at highway speeds. Paint scratches were never taken care of and interior still has paint on it. Was a show car now the only thing being shown are scratches and paint dropped interior. DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP...EVER.
Very disappointing experience. Had an appointment at 9:30. I was told that the Appointment would take 2 and Half hours. After not receiving a phone call I showed up 5 hours later to find that the car was not done. I was told another hour. 3 hours later my car was done. 8 hours later my car was done.8 HOURS!!!! I would give zero stars for being lied to twice but I give a one star because the nice tech delivered my car to my home because he knew the manager screwed up.
Everyone was professional and so nice. They make the experiences nice. I found my windshield cracked & went through my insurance who setup the appointment for safelite to come to my house, but the weather was too cold, so they offered me to come down to get it done. Ramon the installer was great and very detailed when it came to the instructions & care for the first few days. Highly recommend!
DO NOT USE!! Like other people reviewing here I had an appointment between 8am-noon. Received an email from service rep he would text me when he was on his way. Never heard from him. Called company 3 times to finally get some snotty girl who said he’s running late. I explained I’ve been sitting home waiting but need to leave She said I’ll have him cAll you. He never called. Period. Unreliable, inconsiderate and nasty. Plenty of other locations and companies you can call.STAY AWAY
No one answers the telephone. I just wanted to ask a simple question. I thought being that I live around the corner I was dealing with what used to be my neighborhood Safelite, as I have experienced in the past years with them. That personalized feeling is now non-existant, the initial first impression you get when calling them. Its possible it would be the opposite if one actually walked into the location. But I think I was connected to a centralized call center waiting aimlessly in some que. If thats the case it may not be a reflection on the actual staff or ownership at this Bethpage location and as a franchise the owner should contest this communication structure. If this is a choice by the owner then they should do something to improve the system by at least identifying themselves as the local Safelite when someone calls the local number and you should at least speak to a live person before being placed in a que with no indication as to how long the wait time will be, this after navigating the call menu. Covid-19 or not, someone should answer the damn telephone.
Went there today and had my windshield replaced, fast service, technician was very polite, explained everything he was going to do. But I left my credit card in my vehicle today because it was deactivated cause someone had skimmed my card and was charging items on it, upon return to my vehicle I had discovered that someone had removed the card without my permission or authority. Just goes to show we cannot trust anyone. But so far my windshield is still intact with no visible leaks.
Highly disappointed, HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!!! Maybe its all the years of military service or maybe its just the way I was raised, but I believe in keeping appointments, I believe in proper communication, and if there was a wrong committed I believe in the attempt of indemnification. None of that took place here.I requested a windshield change Wednesday 06/13/2018, the Safelite app notified me that the nearest appointment would be today between 8am and 12pm, cool thats ok. I kept my car in my driveway the entire weekend so as to not incur a ticket for a cracked windshield. 12pm arrived and there was nothing, no email, no call no updates. I waited until 1230pm before calling Safelite customer service. I was told they would contact the technician and call me back. 1.5hrs later there was still no follow up call! I placed another call to Safelite Customer service, a woman answers, I explain the situation she states she cant help and to contact the location directly, which I did, what other choice do I have. AGAIN, I was told they would contact the technician and get back to me. This time 10 mins goes by and I receive a call. Safelite is saying they dont have my windshield, that they can get me a different windshield other than the one I selected, and that I would take 2 more days to be installed. They didnt even have the windshield wipers I requested. Whats the point of offering them at the checkout point. At this point, with this major inconvenience the stupid wipers should have been compd.5 DAYS WENT BY, WHY WAS I NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE PART DEFICIENCY FOR NEITHER THE WIPERS OR MORE IMPORTANTLY THE WINDSHIELD. This puts me at a major disadvantage. I have to go on a Military Instillation tomorrow and now I run the risk of not only being ticket by civilian law enforcement, but my Military Police as well.I truly disheartened with the professionalism and communication skills of such a large company like Safelite.
I wish I could give a lower rating! Do not believe their TV and Radio ads, totally bogus! I had a broken windshield and my insurance company recommended Safelite in Bethpage NY. I called on a Wednesday morning and they told me that the earliest appointment they can gave me is the next week on Tuesday afternoon. On Tuesday morning a Safelite technician called me and told me that the windshield they have is cracked and they will try to get me another one. Finally the tech called me at 4PM and told me that the earliest they can come is next week on Tuesday and he was very rude to me because I questioned him why such a big delay again. I was very upset and called back my insurance company and they recommended another local company. They came the next day and did a wonderful job on my windshield. I hope no one ever uses Safelite in Bethpage New York, terrible service! Avoid this place at all cost!
STAY AWAY!! I should have read the reviews before going. Brought my car in to replace my drivers side window. They replaced it with a chipped window and the alignment was WAY off. I told them and they said they would replace the window again and fix the alignment. I bring my car in again for them to do it the 2nd time and the manager is there. I ask him to please make sure the alignment is the same as the passengers side, and before I can finish my sentence he says yeah no problem - clearly he was not listening at all. I go to pick up the car - new window, alignment is worse than the 1st time. They bring their tech out and I show him. He says he will fix it. I go back the next day to pick the car up deciding that no matter what I will take the car back because their incompetence knows no bounds and sure enough, it is still not right. Sure the alignment was better, but now the window does not go up and down the same as before, the arm rest on the door panel is not securely attached (I removed the trim and found a bolt missing) and best of all, when I shut the door, there is a vibrating CLANG noise. I told my insurance to not pay them for the labor and that I need to go somewhere else. These guys are pathetic, know-nothing pieces of garbage who cant fix a simple door window. NEVER BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!!!!
Mechanic shows up he is all worried about review. He should have worried about the installation does a horrible job. Huge gaps and leaking. Diverts my attention.runs away. I call him right back. He blows me off to do another job before he finishes mine. I call the office they call him and team up. He comes back that night and says that type of windshield is very low quality . They would get an installer and better windshield and get back to me. I call the next 2 days. No answer? 1/4 gap between windshield and car. Installer says it just has to dry. I asked him why he was lieing to me. It leaked the next morning form the top and air blew thru the side. It had not even rain yet, it was actually the morning dew that ran in. Can there be a bigger joke? Too Bad its happening to me. Good thing i duct taped it before it rained. The duct tape would not stick if I was caught off guard and the car was wet. I will definately keep you posted. Zero Stars. do not ever use this company.
Very fast excellent workmanship, polite friendly girl at front desk.Clean professional shop.Had a little issue with recalibration of camera ,lane departure after windshield replacement.Called Manager Barry next day on mechanics Bobbys advice if I had any problems.Barry asked me to come back right away to fix problem which he did.Would highly recommend this safelite shop!!!
1 Star is way to high for this company. I wish I could give a lower rating. I hope no one ever uses their service ever again. In early July 2014, I noticed 3 chips in the windshield. I called my insurance & was told to schedule my repairs through Safelite & they will pay for it. I always see the Safelite commercials about them repairing these kinds of damage.I scheduled Safelite to come out to repair my windshield. They arrive on time & begin work. Next thing I know, they are in the middle of pulling the existing windshield out which only had 3 small chips in it & are about to install a new windshield. I had specifically said to both my insruance & Safelite that it only needed to be repaired, not replaced. The new windshield is also sub par compared to the original as well.Upon completion, I noticed they left a lot of resin on both front fenders near the windshield & all along the new windshield, as well as resin inside my interior. I had a hard time cleaning up the resin on the exterior of the car. I STILL cant get the resin out of my interior. After finally cleaning the exterior of my car, I notice that they left scratches on both front fenders.I then called my insurance to complain & all they would do is transfer me over to Safelite who then told me I would have to take my car down to the local shop for the shop manager to inspect. I arrive at the Bethpage location & waited about 10 mins for the rude receptionist to get off of the phone to help me. Meanwhile the even ruder shop manager Frank, who was sitting directly behind her would not get up to even look at me. He was way too busy talking with with one of his friends to even do his job. The receptionist finally finished her call & had the manager (who was directly behind her) come out to inspect my car. He would not take any responsibility & proceeded to start an argument over how his guys could not have caused this damage & that he was only willing to buff the damage out. The scratches go down to the metal. You cant buff that out. This now has to be repainted. Im already fuming at this point, I dont need this clown to get me angrier than I already am.I then call my insurance again to get them on this because Im not paying for damage done to my car when it was their recommendation to have Safelite replace my windshield when it only needed to be repaired. I am told that they will contact Safelite, set up compensation & call me back within 24 hours. I never hear back from either. I contact Safelite again & talk to Steve Moreo with their Executive Service Team who also tells me that he will be in touch with me by the next morning. I never hear back from him. I contact Safelite yet again the next day, this time through Facebook. The person I am now put in touch with, Sarah Powers (also with their Executive Service Team) tells me that she was told by the Bethpage shop that I had refused their offer to have my car repainted. First of all, that shop never offered to repaint my car & second, I was the one who had told them that it needed to be repainted. She then tells me that I would have to bring my car to one of their body shops to see if they feel the scratches can be buffed out. I refuse to bring my car to any place connected to Safelite. I have worked in the auto body field & I know what kind of damage is there. I then threaten legal action & get an estimate from a body shop that I trust. Its funny, the only way I was ever able to get anything accomplished with these crooks was through Facebook & with my attorney contacting them. The set up a rental for my while my car was being repaired, only to come to find out that I had to pay for the gas. Really? I only needed this rental in the first place because of the damage your company caused. I had to then go to the BBB to get half of my money refunded. I was contacted again a month later with the rest of my refund. This company loves to play games.Stay far far far away from this location & any Safelite location.
Thursday 11-17 Still waiting for their call so I can get this odyssey over with. Not loving Safelite.Tues 11-8 Went back to shop. They ordered another windshield and the damaged wiper fascia/valance. They will call me to schedule an appt once the parts are in.Sunday 11-6 945a - The windshield still creaks and rattles. It is emanating from the passenger side top. Obviously nothing to do with the glue requiring more time to set. Also, closely inspected the holes in the wiper valance and it is obvious they are freshly made. Cant wait to see how Safelite reacts to the me , as a customer, when I bring it back to them to repair the shoddy work and replace the wiper valance they damaged. Will keep you informed.Sat 11/5/16- So far not very happy. Picked up my car and the new windshield is rattling/creaking over every car small to large bump in the road. Get home look at windshield and the wiper arm valance also has two holes punched into it with a third half way through. I wash this car regularly and no should try to tell me those holes were there before the windshield was replaced, especially since the valance has to be removed or pulled forward to remove and replace the windshield. These appear to be holes punched by a metal tool used to lift or remove the plastic valance. So, called shop at 11:45 am to discuss the above issues and was informed the Manger had left for the day. A very calm person told me the glue requires two days to set and I will need to bring the car back after the two days should the creaking and rattling persist. I am hoping against hope they are correct about the glue setting but I am skeptical because rattles and creaks where not mentioned when I picked up the car. They did mention car washing and tape removal but most definitely not creaks and rattles. Also, have had many windshields replaced over the years and rattles and creaks were never heard. As for the multiple holes in the valance, they claim to have pictures of the car before the work was started. I will see what they show. As of now I am assuming they are honest and did not take the pics after the new windshield was installed and claim the holes were there before the work was done.My frustration and low rating stem from this...At the very least, should the rattle and creak stop in two days, I still have to take time off and return to this shop and regarding the holes in the valance. Will post an update this Tuesday, after hearing what the Safelite will or will not do for a customer regarding their workmanship.
I couldnt be happier. A very friendly Safelite technician came to my job today to fix a small crack in my windshield. He was on time and fixed the crack in about 15 minutes. When he was done, I couldnt even tell where the crack had been originally. I would definitely use Safelite again!
Unfortunately, Safelite will only stand by their lifetime warranty in regards to replacing the windshield and not mechanical issues caused by faulty installations, which was confirmed by their own technician. On September 8th, I had Safelite replace my windshield in our driveway. The technician’s name was Paul and he clearly did not perform a pressure test after he was finished. The entire cowling (weather strip) at the bottom of the windshield was not secured properly. About four clips from the cowl were visibly on top of the windshield and not fastened underneath as they should be. This went unnoticed for a few weeks while continuous water was leaking under the glove compartment on top of the fuse box. The vehicle stopped working and a variety of electrical issues came up. The battery needed to be replaced, the ignition wouldn’t turn on and the rear wiper stopped working. A reputable mechanic shop then diagnosed the issue, which he said stemmed from the windshield cowl - to be the cause of a massive water leak beneath the dashboard.Another Safelite technician (Joe) inspected the vehicle at the mechanic shop and reported back to his manager that the cowl was indeed loose and needed to be fixed. The manager at that location informed the warranty department at Safelite of this information; however the Safelite manager added the water leak could not be coming from the loose cowl and that a mysterious vehicle recall for water leaks had been issued to the Safelite Company from the manufacturer (which he claimed had not been issued to the vehicle customers). On October 28th, Joe replaced the windshield again while properly fastening the cowl. The mechanic has since charged me $460 worth of parts & labor for replacing the fuse box. Since Safelite’s second windshield replacement, the water leak has completely stopped and the vehicle is back to working condition, which would indicate that the water leak and electrical damage was caused from the original faulty install.
Worst experience ever. I had to repair my car window. When the 1st technician came, he said oh I didnt know that your car has an automatic rain sensor. He left and said someone will come back later. Waste of a day. The 2nd guy came and he installed a scratched window. 3rd guy came to replace the scratched window and said, Oh the 2nd guy had broken your rain sensor because he didnt know how to put it back. And showed me the broken piece. He left and guess what, he disconnected my auto lights. Now I am waiting for the 4th technician to come in order to fix the 2 broken things. A month of this nonsense.

2022-07-08DO NOT GO HEREI asked to get my car window fixed back in the end of May and they said I would need a special order because the window is laminated. I had no problems with that so I gave them the go ahead. They said it would take a week so I thought seems fair. But then a week turned into two weeks to eventually a month. I called every week for an update and they always said that they couldn’t get in touch with their warehouse but they’ll call me back. Never got a call back. At some point they said they’ll have to contact the dealership directly so I said okay how long will that take, they said maybe a few days. I said sure. They never contacted the dealership. So instead I called someone I should have gone with before. They were not only cheaper, but they got the glass within 24 hours of calling and fixed my car within 48 hours of calling. Funny how they were able to get it done faster than SafeLite. Super unhelpful. I would give this place negative stars if I could

2022-06-07After getting a very bad experience with a local glass shop I went to safelite. It was easy to make an appointment the staff was professional and knowledgeable. Their pricing was a bit high but I was told to go online to get a coupon. This made the pricing while still a bit high , very competitive. The only problem was timing, they couldnt get the glass at a time that worked for me and unfortunately with a twenty dollar upcharge for mobile service this wasnt going to work for me.

2022-01-31Completely awful. I had two small cracks. I went in there for repair and went in the waiting area. A teenager comes out and says they fixed one and would not attempt the other and to replace the windshield. This is after i was charged over 200 in repairs and labor. I guess this is the scheme to buy one of their windshields. Dont go here. Complete waste of time and money.

2022-06-28Horrible experience. After numerous reschedules they never fixed my windshield. They came to the first appointment saying the side molding was missing. Made a follow up appointment for the next day and no one showed up. Made a manual appt for a few days later and still no one showed up. Then made an appointment at the bay shore location a week and a half later only for them to have a scratched windshield and rescheduled. Rescheduled a final time with the tech informing me to meet him at the Bethpage location due to rain only for them to tell me the wrong windshield was picked up which I don’t understand why the bethpage location would be picking up my windshield when I made the appointment at bay shore. After that point I used another company who replaced my windshield within 24hrs. My claim was made on the 8th of the month. There was no reason for this to take numerous appointments.

2022-04-10Horrible experience! Avoid this Safelite auto glass! I needed the windshield on my 2019 BMW X3 to be replaced and they did a real shoddy amateur job! They scratched the paint on both the upper corners of the hood, the glass was so misaligned that the VIN number was partially obscured, the top rubber trim was wavy throughout, and finally, its leaking from the top center. All trust lost here as the skill set at this SafeLite franchise is far below acceptable. I brought the car to another SafeLite in Freeport with better reviews and the repair (now repairs) were corrected and covered by warranty. Unfortunately, I cant rate this place zero stars.

2020-07-31Unprofessional and rude. Especially, being an assistant manager. Should be better trained on how to talk with customers. No signs anywhere stating anything about “ must wear a mask “. Will file complaint with HQ and Geico.

2021-06-09Good experience taking car into shop for repair. Got early appointment in morning following small windshield crack which occurred previous afternoon. Got there 15 minutes early. Was out the door in 35 minutes. Repair is fine. Only slight disappointment was that I had to take car into shop for repair. When I went on line to try and schedule repair person to come to my home there was only one slot available in next 5 days and that time did not work for me. Advertising campaign highlighting how Safelite can easily be scheduled to come to customer location seems a bit disingenuous.

2021-04-20Very easy experience! They weren’t too busy and was able to take care of me before my appointment. My windshield was really chipped up so I replaced the whole thing. They take my insurance so I paid nothing out of pocket. Waiting room is very spacious and the employees are friendly and very informative. Overall I recommend this location to everyone
