Everything was amazing.Dishes are very delicious and they have various turkish appetizers available. We had the iskender kebap, red lentil soup and mix cold appetizers also i am really suprised they have cig kofte (vegan meatball).you need to try it also they have Turkish ice cream too. Best Turkish food in town everyrhing tastes fresh, the service is excellent and reasonable prices. Thank you guys I will come back soon.
Interesting appetizers with plenty of vegetarian choices. the dry fig salad came with so many walnuts that it turned into a quite heavy meal, not exactly a salad. another place that cannot follow simple instructions, like leaving out plastic forks when the order clearly specified so.
The owner of this location is rude unprofessional and disgusting human being!! He grabbed the person that was with me and dragged him outside screaming at him.. than he explained its because he did not say anything when he entered the store like he’s obligated to speak to anyone in there.. Im sure the food is as horrible as the owner!! I wouldn’t recommend anyone visiting this place.. he got reported for harassment and he will be visiting courts. This situation will not end here this easy, NOBODYS allowed to touch anyone in this country without the persons permission! And he will not get away with harassment especially when person just entered the store. Did not commit a crime, did not disrespect anyone, did not harass anyone, did not threaten anyone… He thinks because he owns the restaurant he treat people this way? He will explain that in court !
Cute little place inside. We picked up baba ghannoush (well done), chicken adana (excellent!) and lamb adana (meh. too gamey). Rice and veggies that came with the meal were good (neither under nor over cooked) and the red spicy sauce tasted good. Would definitely come back for the chicken and baba ghannoush and to explore the rest of the menu :)
Generally consistent high quality restaurant with nice spices and quality ingredients along with overally reliable and timely delivery. Weve ordered from them many times and will again. Chicken shish kabob is our favorite. Dont forget to order humus and their great fresh bread.
I have never been more disappointed in a meal. Nothing had the flavor I expected, down to the ketchup lol. For example, I think the lamb is just grilled without even a pinch of salt. I thought I could just eat the bread but it tasted like despair even after I slathered some olive oil and coarse salt and popped it in the oven. Yikes
Stopped in for lunch and got the two course lunch special with tea.Overall this was a pleasant dinning experience, the service was good, the food was good, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. My favorite part of the meal was the tea, but the hummus and gyro plate I ate were enjoyable.I would definitely go back.
Consistency. Consistency. Consistency. I cant stress how important this is. This place is quite pricey for what it is. When its good though its really good. Im happy to pay for for a more expensive meal but if Ian paying a premium or had to be consult good. I used to order here a lot but stopped due to inconsistency. Too many times I got calamari like rubber bands and chicken that was overcooked to the point of being charred (in a bad way) on the outside and dry on the inside. So I wont order online anymore but if youre willing to go in and send things back until theyre not overcooked then go for it.
Delicious food, serving Turkish specialty dishes. A friend invited us for dinner at this restaurant and we enjoyed the food. Its a pretty good size, not a small restaurant which can accommodate big groups. The good thing about NYC, too many great traditional & authentic food places.
Given that 0 starts is not an option... That was THE MOST disgusting food ever to arrive on a delivery. The quality and taste of the food is simply GROSS. I ordered the gyro wrap and the meat was thin, gummy and somehow dry even though the thing was dripping in grease. I ordered the baklava dessert and it had spoiled because it tasted absolutely foul. I called Seamless about it and they said the restaurant denies this happening, which, of course they would. DONT EAT HERE.
We came to enjoy Turkish cusine during lunch hour. As soon as we walked into the restaurant, the waiter was taking orders over the phone and barely acknowledged us and said “we are not serving now” in a very condescending manner. We were very surprised at how they treated their customers. Management needs to review basic hospitality rules of conduct.
Went for the brunch buffet which had a lot of variety and was really good. All the dips were very good, and they kept supplying us with warm bread for dipping. I could eat just the dips and bread all afternoon. The baklava, unfortunately, was not great - the phyllo not crispy at all, rather soggy actually.Zucchini pancakes were delicious. The service was very good - they were very polite and accommodating with our orders. Everything arrived quickly, and refills were timely.Cozy, medium-sized restaurant, and not too crowdedFrom the regular menu:- Soslu patlican - chipped eggplant and tomato very lightly spicy (cold app) - quite tasty- Mixed kebab - is also very good. Get the lamb chop medium.Food is served with fresh hot bread, crispy outside and soft inside, and olives and olive oil
Really nice gyro you guys. This place does it better than 99% of the Greek places out here (cough GRK cough). The lamb is evident in every bite and its nice off the skewer thin strips that burst with flavor. One thing that annoys me though is you pay 5 bucks for a side of fries and they are small in portion. I ended up spending around 18 bucks for a gyro and fries... should be more like 12. Quality was tremendous however.
I bit into my falafel and thought my tooth came out. When I spit it out it wasnt my tooth. It was a screw!!!! Im so disgusted! When I called the restaurant and explained the situation the reply I received from the man who answered the phone was oh. Oh???!!!! Are you kidding me?! Im still waiting to here from the manager. Im so upset and disgusted. I will NEVER recommend this place!!! Stay away!
Ive been coming here for maybe 10 years. I love the chicken shish, chicken saute, bronzini. The cold appetizers are delicious Dash Standard Middle Eastern fare: tabouli, baba ganoush, hummus - all great. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Its usually quiet. The place is pretty low key and the food is better than youd expect based on how it looks.
By far the best Turkish food I have had in NYC. The food is always fresh, timely, and the service is impeccable.I love dining in because the atmosphere is homely, and professional. If you are lucky to go as often as I do, you end finding yourself part of the Sahara family.
There wasnt anything special about this restaurant. The food was good but wasnt amazing and definitely not worth the price. The service is good too. Just a note: when I ate there the food was priced higher than it was on the website. Perhaps it was just because it was Valentines Day but had I known, I would not have come.
The food was decent but I had to wait a long time for my entree. I came with a friend during our lunch break and we were the first ones to arrive to the restaurant. Another table received their food first even though they arrived and ordered about 15 minutes after we did.
Ordered through grubhub.. They refused to honor the order and refused to cancel the order. They said it is up to grubhub. I told them my card was charged but they still refused to honor the order because it didnt reach a $20 minimum (not stated on grubhub). Long story short, order at your own risk.
Came to the restaurant to pick up an online order, restaurant was open, I walked inside and there was noone around. Waited for about 10min until I decided to call the store and see if someone would come out and answer the phone at least. Employee told me he was the only one working and told me to wait an additional 10min. Even though my order should’ve been ready by the time I walked inside the store.
When I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly hostess/waitress who directed me to the cash register to place my order. I ordered a Falafel sandwich to go and asked for side of hot sauce. I did not have to wait long for my food to come out. The whole experience inside of the restaurant was pretty pleasant, which is why I gave it two stars. Otherwise I would rate it a one star. When I got home, I noticed that there were no napkins in the bag. The hot sauce was not authentic Turkish, but some sort of Thai sweet and sour sauce that tasted a bit like ketchup. When I unwrapped my sandwich, I noticed there was no tahini sauce, contrary to the menu description. The sandwich was dry and tasteless. One end of the tortilla wrap was stale (or just very chewy). I called the restaurant to inform them that they forgot to add the tahini sauce. They assured me that it was in there, but that they only put a little bit in their sandwich. It was actually so little that it was not at all visible or tastable. Since the hot sauce had a very poor taste to it, I did not put it in the sandwich to counter the dryness. In New York, especially this area, the quality is unacceptable for a restaurant. I must admit that this is unfortunately the worst falafel sandwich I have had. I would suggest Mamouns falafel or Bereket Turkish Kebab House. I did not have any other menu items at Saharas, and some of them may be tasty, but since the falafel sandwich and their condiments are not up to par, I will not return to try other menu items.
I persuaded my friend who was allergic to gluten and chose your restaurant to eat Turkish food. I can say that we have been interpreted as having comments and stars. What we said was the worst Alexander I ever had in my life. The meat was very bad, the dressings werent nice. I can tell you Im a fool to my friend. I dont recommend it to anyone.

2022-08-04If I could give six stars I most definitely would. Ender and Delai were really a very special part of our dining experience and not just because of them, but objectively I’d like to go ahead and say that this is one of the best restaurants in the whole island. Also, not a tourist trap in case you’re looking for a good place where everyone should go to for a nice occasion. The okra plate is really really nice and the baba ganoush was really delicious. Some of the best bread I’ve had in other spots, and with Turkish food, good bread is a must. Turkish coffee on point as well as the overall vibe. Thanks so so much for having us over, we’ll make sure we come again and so should anyone reading this review. (Just want to say, this is my real opinion and I’m not affiliated to this joint in any kind of way and this review is 100% honest out of my personal experience.)

2022-08-07This is my go-to lunch destination on the rare occasions I have to show up at the office. Good food selection on the lunch menu and everything is consistently delicious. At this point, I have gone through most of the menu and I have never been disappointed. The lentil soup and the salmon are particular favorites.

2022-07-13Absolutely ZERO 0 STAR .The worst place to ever eat food from. From customer service to the food and the all other things you are looking for are so bad. Bad attitude server including their boss and manager and the chef doesnt know how to cook either. They dont know how to cook all kind of meats and even the rice; No, for real, Im like what the Hell. It is not worth spending even $1 here.Who ever has been dining in here, Im So Sorry for your pockets. And I still dont know how the Hell people gave good reviews to this place that they have 4.2/5. I mean it is not even worth more that 1/5.

2022-07-02Came with a large party to celebrate a retirement. Service was okay, not great. The ambience was nice. They didn’t have Turkish beer which was odd. The food was alright— definitely not great. It was overcooked and dry most of it.

2022-03-20Delicious and lovely service. Our sense was so sweet and helpful, e were sad to see her leave halfway through our dinner (we were there very late). The dolmas were beautiful, perfectly balanced with some currants, and the surprise hit was the ezme- slightly spicy, nice texture. Looking forward to adding Saharas into our rotation! ❤
