Ordered to go.Hip interior, cool vibe.Small portions, disappointing Japanese food.Orderedunagi roll- 9$, very little eel and sauce, lacking flavor.Miso‐ tastes like salty water and green onionSweet potato fries- okay but underdone and packaged in plastic so they get soggy, served with sweet chili sauce that tastes like its from a bottle. Not interested in dining in. I think the folks whove reviewed well had never had sushi before. Also I think the soy sauce is the cheap stuff. ( Edit: owner responded and corrected that they use Kikkoman or Yamasa low sodium soy sauce. Perhaps I was unaccustomed to the flavor. )
Went here for All-You-Can-Eat for date night. The sushi did not taste good at all. Service was also on par with the food. Our server kept forgetting what we had to order (drink wise) and there werent alot of people there. Wed see the other servers chillin and chatting away so they werent stressed out the amount of people there. Maybe it wouldve been worth it if the sushi were good, but, again, it was really bad (had to have been very low grade sushi or not stored properly or something). Dont fall victim to the hype; there are great sushi places in the towns over that are worth the visit.
Great sushi handmade right there! Lots of variety and great drinks too! I had such a good time that I only took one picture of my Unagi roll. I also had the spider roll, classic California, Philadelphia, and spicy tuna rolls. They also have chicken wings if you have someone who doesnt prefer Asian cuisine! The sushi chef personally asked us how we liked everything after we were served. Great little place!
Ive been here once before for All You Can Eat Monday, and had no issues at all. It was a good deal, with good service and a good environment. However, this time around was a completely different story. This was the worst customer service Ive ever had, EVER. We waited 20 minutes just to get menus. They didnt have enough of them printed, but failed to communicate with each other about who needed to print it which caused more waiting. Once we finally put in our first set of orders, they didnt think to mention that they werent offering Unagi as part of the deal because it was too expensive. So why have it on the menu? And if they printed new menus, shouldnt they have been updated ones? All the workers, besides the chef, were moving at such a slow pace and would disappear for long periods of time. It wasnt even that busy, which I would understand why we werent be served as quickly if it was crowded. But even the chef began yelling at one of the waitresses in front of everyone and was the one to remind the waitresses that we still needed menus after waiting the 20 minutes. There was also a period where he was saying he had no plates to serve the sushi when he was done preparing it, and that we could see the sushi waiting on the bar to be given to us. All the workers were just very unorganized and seemed confused. The waitress also just completely forgot to put in one of our last orders. She claimed she brought it out, and then I had to explain to her she didnt. She then realized and made sure to make a side comment that, all uneaten sushi is a $2 charge each. I am extremely disappointed and definitely will not be giving them my service ever again. What made it even worse is than when we got the check at the end, they automatically added 18% gratuity, which they did not deserve at all. Also, we were a group of 5 and Im not sure if this is universal, but isnt gratuity only added automatically when the table is a group of 6 or more? Also, the only person I would have tipped a decent amount would be the chef. I always tip my servers at least 18%, so this isnt common of me to want to tip low. But again, THIS WAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED.
So the food was decent, the guys behind the sushi counter were nice and helpful. The wait staff wasnt the best. Lots of waiting and forgetting to put in our orders. It was resturaunt week on a Friday and honestly not all that crowded for the most part. Our waitress was very nice but didnt come around very much, she never put in our drinks or apps, the person making sushi actually saw us (we were kinda by the bar) he made us our entrees before the apps came out because he felt bad. Nice people, but maybe some more training on wait staff and better front of house management is needed. Food was decent though.
All you can eat Monday is definetly the time to go. They charge extra for the good rolls, but even if thats all you get iland keep adding extra charges it is still a great price. Usually the high end rolls are $12-15 a roll but are $1-3 with all you can eat. So even if you get two spider rolls you are already getting a better price. If you eat six of them like me, then youre eating at a third of the price you normally would. It can be a bit cramped if you sit near the front.
We had some Asian Fusion Rolls and Bacardi and Diet drinks. The rolls were really good but the drinks were horrible; we actually sent them back. The restaurant was wheelchair accessible but the tables were so small that my wheelchair couldnt fit under; I had to sit sideways on the end.
All you can eat sushi is a joke. We stayed for 2.5 hours and got 5 rolls of sushi for 2 people. The order was incorrect 2x and we waited well over an hour for the incorrect ordered rolls. We even had to ask for a refill of water as that was empty for over an hour. There was nothing especially good about the sushi we did get and it is made with way too much rice. Never interested in going back!
Sake-Tumi is a wonderful spot to have a meal and enjoy Sake. The tables are set up nicely, their outdoor space feels really cozy, the food is definitely on point and, if you order a meal to qualify for it, the bottomless Sake keeps on coming and is some of the strongest Ive ever had.Mary was the perfect person to serve us as we laughed and drank into the night, friendly and understanding of our needs.Prices are actually reasonable, which blew my mind for the quality of what Id eaten and drank. (Chicken Ramen, yum)Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a chill atmosphere where everything feels just right.
Went here for the first time the other evening and had awful service, while there was only 6 tables filled they had two waiters, and during my time, it took them 20 minutes from when I ordered my drink for me to get my drink and 30 minutes for two sushi rolls. I will say the drink was strong and reasonably priced, the sushi was not the best and overall I would never recommend this place to anyone.
Sake-Tumi has been a favorite place of mine to go get sushi since finding out about it. Their super shrimp tempura roll is always amazing. Along with great food from their brunch menu. The chicken wanton tacos are amazing. l always have great dining experience love the atmosphere from the staff.
Went here for lunch - ordered some generic rolls (thats what I was feeling). Took a while for the food to come out, and it was so-so. Each roll had 10 or so pieces, fish was decent but scarce and a too much rice on the rolls. No water refill, no soy sauce on the table, dont expect much in the way of service if you come here.
My husband and I came here today for the first time. The place was empty and it took awhile for the waitress to come to our table or explain we needed to use the QR code menu. She did not check on us during the course of our meal, which took a long time to come out even though it was only two meals in an empty restaurant. The food was tasty but we would not come back because of the low quality service.
Saketumi is my favorite restaurant in Binghamton. The servers genuinely care that you have a good time and are enjoying the food. All of the employees are so friendly especially Iwa at the sushi bar. My favorite things on the menu is the delicious rock shrimp and my favorite roll is green maki. The sushi is a work of art and your server will become your new friend.
The food litterally took an hour to come out, i ordered the beef teriyaki, and you should not. It was so bad, i wouldve rather eaten a mcdonalds burger, which wouldve cost $10 less as well. The service was meh, and if u want sushi, the sushi here was OK but save yourself the money and just get it from wegmans.
Amazing place to go for brunch🙏 Calm vibes & a great time with friends. The food was amazing really recommend getting the poke bowl the salmon and crab meat was on point. This place has always been one of my favorite and the addition of brunch on Saturdays just made my weekends more thrilling🙏
Went for $1 sushi night with a bunch of girls. The server was very attentive, and patient (my friends can be high maintenance 😳).. Nice selection of sushi to choose from and excellent shrimp tempura! Not a great wine selection which would be my only constructive criticism.
The dollar sushi menu was a great deal. My favorite was the Olmos Sunday. Order several of those. Had both the pop rocks martini and the rock candy martini. I now want to rim all drinks with pop rocks. Both drinks were very sweet and didnt taste a bit like alcohol. That is either a good thing or a bad thing...you decide. We ate outside and it was a nice evening. It was a great place to people watch.
Sakè-tūmi has recently become a favorite place of mine to dine-in and enjoy savory sushi. Ive come here to enjoy the all you can eat sushi, and the dollar sushi on Tuesday. Today I came in to have brunch, really enjoyed the matcha french toast, I am definitely coming back to enjoy brunch again!
Good food, and great service, only complaint is the wait it takes to recieve the food. Have been numerous times on $1 sushi night, and with the extended wait I cant really complain since it is $1.Recently I went for lunch, myself & boyfriend were the only ones in the restaurant. Ordered 2 rolls and it took 45 minutes to come out. Had to eat quickly since it was during the work week. Think they would be much more marketable for the business lunch crowd if they would get the food out at a more reasonable rate.
Went for the all you can eat sushi deal they have on Mondays, and what a waste it was. Never have I had such dry, tasteless sushi before. The rolls didnt even come with any sauce. Not even some complimentary tea to wash down the cardboard-like sushi. Cant wait for a another Japanese restaurant to open Downtown, at least the competition will incentivize better quality food.
Look no further for some of the finest and tastiest crafted sushi or sashimi- a number if delectable lunch choices, the tea is fantastic, the wait staff was fast, friendly and quick to offer solid recommendations (if you need some honest input). A great time, and certainly a spot I will think of when I am in town.
This place is pretty good. Our waiter was great and anyone that walked by us checked in. The food was very good, but could use just a little detailing. (For example, our beet fries were delicious, but could have used another minute in the fryer and a minute to de-grease.) I would absolutely go back.
Definitely the best sushi I have had in the Binghamton area. I used to go every Tuesday and some Thursdays for dollar a piece sushi night. But lately I find myself coming in at lunch for their bento boxes. Only a few entrees fall short of the mark but by and large this is the place to go. The space is clean and really livens up when when they open the garage door at the front of the restaurant. Its worth checking out any night of the week.
I would guess it’s a “great or worst” experience here.Since a month my husband has been bragging about how awesome the food in sake tumi is, so today we decided to visit the place. It was my first time but my husband has been here a couple of times he’d liked the pad Thai here. Today we ordered pad Thai & vegetable tempura. First disappointment was the tempura. There was more oil and less tempura!!The next disappointment was the pad Thai itself, it was extremely sour, smelt real bad, veggies were bitter, tofu was over fried so it was hard. On the whole it was real bad. However the waitress was really sweet and agreed to take back the pad Thai and gave us veggie fried rice instead, fried rice I wouldn’t say was not great but was decent enough to eat! Also the menu said both the dishes contained egg, but neither of them came with egg!Well I wouldn’t go back to sake tumi though! They HAVE TO improve the food quality!
We went with a large group of maybe 20 people and experienced the worst service of my life. We waited an hour and a half after we ordered for appetizers and then an hour after for our meal. Then they forgot to give some people dessert. They also added things we didnt order to our check when it finally came. We were there for a total of 3 hours watching people who came in much later than us get served first. The food was mediocre, the sushi wasnt bad but some people who got the curry were greatly disappointed. Overall worst restaurant experience Ive had in a LONG time. Will never go again.
Saketumi restraunt is downtown Binghamton is the hidden jewel of Broome County!!! The food is excellent and the presentation is amazing! Everything is fresh and made to order. The wait staff is so accomadating and kind. Thankyou so much Madison, Mandy, Kim and Marcus for making our visit the best!! We cant wait to get back there!!!
Being the only option for Sushi in downtown Binghamton, Sake-Tumi is in a fantastic location and at first glance appears like a great spot.Upon closer inspection, the interior of the restaurant is clearly thrown together with little thought, and the second dining room is simply a semi-furnished basement. The deals that they offer are incredibly misleading. For example, 2 dollar sushi refers to each piece of sushi within a roll, so turns out that a California Roll is more expensive when you try and go for the deal. The Sushi is mediocre, the fish clearly isnt of the highest quality. The entrees are very bland, with little flavor, but priced as a high-caliber Japanese Steakhouse or so.The staff isnt the best, beside the Sushi Chef- hes a great guy, I just wish he had better ingredients to work with.If youre looking for sushi around Binghamton and dont mind driving a bit, I suggest Bao Bao.
Paint falling off the ceiling.... food is average but the servers have no idea how to serve the food and spill the drinks.... it is downtown so the view on the street is cool, but they need to shorten the menu, train the staff and take paint falling off the ceiling down. and the red color is not help
It’s Friday I ordered sweet potato sushi beef ramen and vegetable spring rolls. My spring rolls were burned , my sushi didn’t taste fresh and my ramen taste better if my five year kid would have made it at home.burnt egg in it , it tasted bad sorry never again.a waste of 31 one dollars
Went here with a friend since we are both like sushi and you do get your moneys worth, especially on mondays when its all you can eat for $20. Staff is friendly and food is great. Just be careful if you go to the all you can eat because you get charged for what you dont eat so dont be greedy.
Order drinks, eat somewhere else.Ordered a HaraJuku Heaven. It was excellent! Ordered some sushi and it smelled like it came out of a pet store.I love sushi... I couldnt bring myself to eat it all. Had to pay an up charge (more than the cost of the roll mind you...) because I couldnt eat such terrible smelling food. The worst part is it all looked so good! Just smelled (and tasted) horrible.
The only thing this place has going for itself is the delicious fusion sushi rolls. If there were another place around that had the types of rolls this place does, Id go there though -- because sake-tumis service is horrible. Seriously.Every time Ive ever been there, I spend hours there (not by choice). The bulk of the time wasted is just waiting to have my order be taken after being seated, and then waiting for them to give me my bill. Calling in for take out? Give them 15 minutes longer than they said. Dont show up on time, and definitely dont show up early. It wont be ready.
Dude... I was not expecting the flavor bombs this place hit me with... I ate alot and there was nothing that needs improvement. They knocked it out of the park. The flavors are very much highlighted here, and you wont find any watered down tastes or sub par ingredients. Its Monday, so I had the $20 all you can eat sushi, and this was just so far above the mark I needed it to hit that I had to make a new mark for the next place to compare itself to now lol.
This was my first experience just ordering off a menu I’m use to the stuff on all you can eat buffets and let me tell you I was more then happy I ordered way to much with the great potion sizes you serve even with ordering Togo presentation was great quality and freshness was out of this world !!! Thank you !!
Super rude waitress, long wait time. They could barely accommodate a large group. When I asked if she could split the check or use more than one card to pay, she said (very rudely) that nobody ever does that and shed never heard of that being done. Poor girl must have never stepped outside Binghamton before. The food was okay, nothing special. I would stay away.
I was in Binghamton on jury duty for a day &I stopped at Saki-Tumi for lunch. I love to try raw fish that I never had before. Sea scallops at Heros Gathering Manor in Endicott, Squid at Saki-Tumi, it is amazing how a few pieces of fish over rice can hold over until next meal.
Horrible horrible horrible service …. The staff is a straight-up lair they ask you to wait 5 minutes and make you stand there for 40 please if you read this anybody from management just ask your staff to give exact time to the customer or pickup guy so that they don’t waste their time standing there …..
Chefs always great us when we walk in. The server staff is beyond reproach. Cassidy is our favorite and has actually become more of a friend then just being our server. Maggie is really great too, but she waass trained by Cassidy lol....seriously though Cassidy and Maggie are great servers ask for them by name!
Probably the worst bowl of ramen Ive ever had in my life. Flavorless watered down broth... the stuff out of the package has more flavor and its $1. The only thing that the ramen has going for it was the shaved pork. Gyoza was good. Tempura apple pie was good... but damn the reason I came was for the ramen and I left hungry. Would not reccomend.
We really only go during Binghamton restaurant week. Have done it for the last 4 years. The owners mom who serves alwaysExpects on the first day. If any of us has an appointment and we cant make it we go the second day and as soon as we walk in she tells us she was looking for us yesterday

2022-06-26Amazing sushi, friendly & awesome staff! All you can eat sushi night and dollar sushi night are my favorite nights of the week to visit! The sushi chefs are so personable! They even wrote my name on the plate one time! 10/10 recommend

2022-04-19For me, this place is mediocre, nothing surprises me and I probably won’t come here again. This place is pretty expensive and there are other sushi places can do much more impressive taste and better than here with the same/cheaper price.

2022-01-18This is the worst tasting, worst looking, worst smelling sushi I have ever had in my entire life. It looks a little like vomit in a plastic container. See attached photo.

2022-05-20Food = Absolutely delicious. My problem with the place comes down to how routinely we have to call and correct issues with our deliveries. Almost every single time, something goes wrong that we need to either wait on a redelivery or call the delivery service for a refund.Tonight, we point blank told that the issue was their fault and received no support. We were told to either call the delivery service to and see if they could re-deliver, or put in a second order that would be discounted (not free, discounted). So - either we are out money on a second order or the delivery service is out money on a no-charge delivery run.Used to love this place, but honestly going to the bottom of the list really fast.

2022-07-12So this breaks my heart but I love this place but in the summer they keep the doors open and the flies are out of control. I have tried to ignore it but the last time I was there it was like we were getting attacked by the flies and nats as soon as the food came out. I couldn’t enjoy my food at all. I love their food but PLEASE HOLD THE FLIES….

2020-10-06Absolutely phenomenal sushi! We sit at the sushi bar and always have a great time when we come! We look forward to not only the best sushi around but also seeing our sushi chef E-Wa along with the other sushi chefs he has with him on the nights we go. I hope I spelled his name right. It is also a great atmosphere as well! Definitely recommend this place. Wish I could give a higher rating!
