Ive been taking my vehicles to Sals for years. The work is always excellent, the repairs are only what you need or request. The prices are great and Sal stands by his work. A family business which is also part of the community. I feel like a valued customer every time Im there!
I chose to go to Sals because of the reviews I read and because it is close by. Im glad I decided to go. They did an oil change and inspection in 15 minutes, just like they promised. They were fast, courteous, and they had the cheapest prices I have seen around here. Will definitely go back again.

I drove into a concrete median wall exiting the nearby hospital parking lot - please no judging. The bumper bended so much it was creating friction to my tire and I could barely turn the truck. I am not from the area and just needed the tire freed up to be able to drive home. These guys were so nice to help me out. Thanks again!
I was recommended to Sals auto shop, heard a read great things. However, i schedule an appointment for an inspection and was instructed to come at 8am, upon arrival I was told to wait 10 minutes. I complied and in turn waited for additional 40 minutes and I did not receive service. Very disappointed. Punctuality, organization and customer service is lacking and needs improvement.

Sal has been taking care of our vehicles since he opened because I have followed him from previous shops that he has worked at. He is an A mechanic who is ALWAYS on point! He doesnt double the price of parts and his hourly rate is lower than most! In an emergency he will never charge you differently than a non emergency and had never turned us away! I can not say enough about him as a person and as a automotive mechanic!

Sal has been working on my families vehicles for years now, and has never done us wrong with his work. Hes been consistently fair, honest, knowledgeable, and helpful with whatever weve needed. Hes done work on our Monte Carlo, Jeep, Corolla forever now. No complaints.

Came in today last minute and they were the friendliest and quickest repair trio ever. New tires, oil change, inspection and they fixed my heating system in only 1 hour or so. So glad I went to their shop!!!
Ive been coming to Sals garage for at least five years. When I do oil change or if I need any work on my Lexus hes the only one I allow to touch my car.hes very reasonable and fair with his prices ,thorough-with his work and I always recommend him to any of my family or friends.
I noticed I had trouble with my front brakes and needed to be replaced so I purchased rotors, pads, and even a caliper in case that was the problem and I drove down to sals around 8:30am and asked, if there was anyway they can get to my car...? They said yes leave it here. I walked home and within about 1hr and 30mins I got a call from them saying it was all set and even told me I didn’t need a new caliper. These guys are quick and honest and there prices were surprisingly affordable. When they told me the price my eyes popped out in shock on how affordable it was. I will def return again when I need something else done.
Im so happy to have found Sal. He is very knowledgeable and takes the time to talk with you. For someone like me who doesnt know a lot about cars, it is a wonderful feeling to be able to leave your car with Sal who is smart and trustworthy. He is a master at what he does and a great person.

Sals is wonderful! We were 200 miles away from home. Our son goes to a school for autism in Staatsburg and we were there to bring him home for a long weekend. Our car had a problem with a part that you could only get from a dealer. And it was Saturday afternoon. What did Sals do? Drove to Kingston, got the part we needed and fixed it! Sal made sure we could make it home. There were many cars pulling in and out for service, but Sal took us right in and fixed it. Thank you so very much!!!! If any of you are in Poughkeepsie and need your car worked on, Sals is the place to go!
Needed to get taxi while my truck was at Sal’s. Told taxi driver Sal’s on Mill St is the best and taxi driver said he trusts Sal and will only bring his car there as well.

I had a loose drain plug due to a poor oil change from another shop. Sals had me informed and fixed up in less than an hour of entering the shop.
Very unprofessional if you dont use them as a mechanic I wouldnt go there for inspections.They will refuse to inspect your vehicle I have never had this problem with any other inspection station

2022-04-15This is a family owned business. Sal and his family are very friendly, and they treat their customers like family. You can see and feel the honesty and their professionalism which in their type of business is very important. They have the experience and knowledge to fix any problem your vehicle may have. They always consult with the customer before getting anything done to your vehicle and they give you the best advice. You can save lots of money buy going to them and not your regular car dealer.

2022-07-04The staff was very nice and helpful. Very fast to change the tire out for a used one. I saw other reviews of being inexpensive but I didn’t find it lower than others around though the price wasn’t that bad.

2022-04-09I need it my breaks done really bad and rotors and a friend at work told me about Sal‘s so I called Sal Saturday morning and he told me to come on in he ordered the parts I waited there until my car was finished I just wanted to thank you Sal for being available reasonable kind and having things done in a timely manner

2021-08-03I called Sals around 10am because my ABS light was on and my inspection was due. I brought my car in 30 minutes later and Sal ran the computer diagnostics and determined the front left brake sensor needed to be replaced. He ordered the part, did an oil change, the inspection, and was a pleasure to work with. No frills straight to the point. Labor is $90/hr so very reasonable. Will definitely be coming to Sals when Im in the PK area and need work done. Oh if you pay in cash its cheaper, and he has an ATM in the shop which is convenient.

2020-10-30Okay, so I’m always very weary of neighborhood repair shops; but the experience I had here was far above expectation. This morning I had my battery light come on and I lost power steering, so I had to find the nearest auto shop, and Sal’s was it. So I got there (luckily) and in no more than two minutes after running his diagnostics, he tells me the alternator is shot. Sal gave me two option, to have the part come in tomorrow or today. (Of course I chose ASAP) and he was very reasonable with his prices. He went to auto zone, picked up an alternator (with warranty) and told me he’d have my car ready for pickup by 2:30PM. Sal calls me at 1:30 (an hour earlier) and tell me my car is good to go.No issues, no problems, and no headaches with this auto shop. Straight to the point, reasonable, and very timely. Will be returning here if I have any other issues in the future.
