We made a pit stop here before heading to the Andalucía hookah bar to celebrate my cousins birthday. The food and drinks are good but just a small tip for the waitresses.. don’t disappear and forget about your guests, I’m aware that waving down a waiter is sometimes seen as impolite so I don’t like to do that and it bothers me when I become inclined to do so. Otherwise, great place!
Oh my is that an explosion in my mouth or is it the Longaniza burger? This place is amazing! Refreshing break from the monotony of Bushwick Ave dining is Salud, the best culinary experience to happen in awhile around here. The service is also top notch. Ana was amazing and recommended a great burger and beer pairing. The spicy pork burger with with chocolate stout was great. If only the weather was warmer I would chill and the really great front patio!
This is definitely a nice spot. Indoor and outdoor dining. The noise from the street wasnt as loud as you would think. The dinner menu was simple with good options. The Classic burger tasted pretty good and had a nice presentation. The mojito was a bit sweet but still very good. Music played in the background. There is a very large televison by the bar.
I really like this place, I normally go at different time, so I have try different things in the menu and can’t complain about it. But today I decided to go with my family my husband ask for a table and they indicate where to seat, so we seat. Right after seating someone come and tell us that the table was reserved, and take us to the patio. The patio was empty due to the weather. I didn’t like that. So we left. My point on this is, you need to have manners and “comment send” when you have a business, and see the way you approach your customers. Things couldn’t been different if instead of making us stand from the table find another way to accommodate us, verify at what time the reservation was made for, other customers where about to leave so you was going to have empty tables.
Updating review. My boyfriend convinced me to try again. I’m glad he did. It was better experience all around.Service was prompt and friendly.Food was flavorful and hotThe drinks this time actually had me a little buzzed.I believe my first experience was just an off dayI will be back for those wings. Such a cute place
Would have love to give this restaurant a real chance to win me over. The menu at first glance looks very appealing. Unfortunately, my cousin and I didn’t have an opportunity to experience this restaurant due to extremely poor customer service. We were greeted by a taller women who was playing hostess and waitress. We then sat there and got lost in conversation, a decent amount of time passed when we noticed everyone being helped around us except us. Even the group that came after us received glasses of water. When we asked the taller young lady if someone was going to help us she responded that the other women waiting tables was our server. After passing us at least two dozen times our waitress finally came to our to take our order. We told her that we wanted water. Never once did she intro herself, then she was rushing us. We told her that we were waiting and she replied “your dragging it. We got up and left
Food is good, but expect long wait times , as the owner is unaware whats going on. He needs to hire more help . Great food but long wait times even after being seated not even a glass of water . Good luck asking for a second drink the bartender is the waitress and bartender
I really didn’t enjoy this place. The food was okay, my beef tacos had pretty much no seasoning or flavor to them. I watched someone from the kitchen leave the bathroom wearing black latex gloves, and then go to the kitchen, and touch his phone and continue to cook and it really grossed me out. There is indoor and outdoor seating and the music and energy is fun at least.
I had passed this restaurant multiple times and wanted to always eat lunch or dinner. Finally gave this restaurant an opportunity and was a large disappointment. Appetizer came with the meal. The burgers were very bad. And one of orders was not understood properly, reordered and waited over 45 minutes for the food, and ultimately we ended up leaving. I can say we are not returning.
The food and drinks were great. The waitresses forgot about us. I’m aware that waving down a waiter is sometimes seen as impolite so I don’t like to do that and it bothered me that I had to do so. The tipWas small due to the service we received. My tip depends on you & the service.
Good evening , my name is Melenie. I write this review to give a complaint. I live in bushwick and have heard good things about the restaurant , I pass by it everyday and hear the great music coming from the establishment. Now, it was my first time coming to eat and try the food that I hear is good. I enter and we get seated immediately. Then we are seated and a decent amount of time has passed by and no one comes to get our drink order not even offer water . This is such a poor 1st impression , safe to say I will not be returning to the restaurant. We just got up and left!
I went to this fine establishment for some day drinking with some friends and did this place deliver. We started off with some pitchers of margaritas which were perfectly made. I ordered the skirt steak with some rice, some yuca fries and a side of Pico de Gallo. The skirt steak with the Pico de Gallo was perfect. Immense flavor, it was like the skirt steak made love to my taste buds. We sat outside on the patio which had a nice feel to it. They have a barrier which is nice so the people who pass by are not staring at you, watching you eat. The restaurant itself has alot of character. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. If you are in the area looking for some food and adult beverage, look no further!
My cousin and I was looking for a new spot to try. We was seated by a young lady and told we would be served by a next after, waiting 15 mins. The lady that sat us down proceeded to give a couple behind us water. No one ever came to us. After another 15 mins waitress comes over and ask are we ready to order. I let her know “please bring us some water because we are parched and have been waiting for 30 min”. The waitress then tells me “ it was not 30 min your dragging it.” Before I found myself being rude I walked out. Which is very disappointing because I looked forward to the food. I’m literally writing the review going to another restaurant.
Great neighborhood spot. Solid happy hour and delicious wings! The patio is great, so its a particularly nice spot during warm weather. The staff are SO NICE. Also - family friendly. They have a high chair and have been really kind and helpful to me with my 8-month-old.
Really fun place! Cozy and casual. Good for hanging out over a few drinks. Great beer menu and well cooked, perfectly seasoned food. One wall is glass and looks super awesome, but let in lots of chilly air. Looking forward to visiting again in warm weather and maybe sitting outside!
The burger they make here is awesome! And it was quite large too. I had a hard time finishing it.I will definitely be coming back again to try the ribs. Sadly they were out of them tonight. (Clearly an indicator of their deliciousness if they got eaten up so quick.)This place also has an impressive selection of beer. Now that Im sober, I cant speak on their tap beers quality myself but judging from the packed bar, Im sure its just as good as their wide selection.Im really glad I found this place and cant wait for the summer so I can come enjoy their outside patio.
Been here a few times, I still haven’t had anything that I feel like I would really want to order again. Last time I went I got a some kind of pork sandwich and I bit into a bone about the size of a pecan. The wait staff and bartenders are always friendly, which is probably why I try again every so often.
Great service, great food and drink options. I thought of it as a good bar spot for a Friday night but the food is definitely a step (or 2 or 3) above traditional bar food. We had the sweet chili wings, platanito fries, jibarito sandwich and of course, a chimi (with yucca fries). My pants dont fit anymore but it was a good time.
The bartender greeted me and my friend with a smile as soon as we entered the place which made us feel welcome. It was a very chill vibe but it did seem to take forever for our food to come. The wings were great! Thick and crispy in the right places. Was disappointed in the lack of real drink choices as everything is wine based but I will return.
A beautiful, hidden gem. Salud is what chic simplicity can be defined as. Not only were they already set up for perfect spacial accommodation of social distancing, but that Bedstuy brownstone vibe is apparent as well. The restaurant has great food, creative menu options, and a staff who go out of their way to make sure you like what you get. A family friendly, high school reunion, first or a millionth date spot. 10/10
A great menu, atmosphere, and fantastic outdoor seating makes this the perfect summer spot for breakfast, brunch, and dinner. My only complaint is that the wait for food typically lasts around an hour, so dont come here already hungry. However, once the food does arrive, its made to perfection. Definitely try something off of the burger menu if you get a chance, the portions are great and the flavor profiles are unique.
Salud has a special place in my heart. I love it here. You cant for wrong. The ambience is cool very nice. The featured artwork is always interesting, live band sometimes, karaoke depending in what time you go. Great Spanish cuisine. The empanadas 👌🏾. The sangria, great. Everything on the menu is affordable. Staff is friendly. Owner is super friendly and down to earth. They accommodate families with children, just parents should also use their discretion in choosing what times, and crowds might be suitable and kid friendly. But great place in Bushwick. Yall better stay there!
So I ordered the mango kale salad with steak... I can honestly say I can eat that salad every single day. It was delicious!. The wine, beside the beer, was great. Dont normally like beer, but waitress recommended something amazing. Still wondering how the flan had such a creamy consistency. Loved it.
The place is very nice, even doe you were not allowed to eat inside, remember covid 19. The staff was very good and very happy to see people coming in and enjoying the wonderful dinner. I had the skirt steak 🥩 which was served with plantins and salad. The service was very fast and the waitress was very attentive. I would recommend the place for an evening night out
I literally just left. Me and my lady waited 15 min to get a seat I had to ask what do I do to be seated. No one greeted me.We finally got seated and a Whomping 30 minutes goes by before we even got glass of water ridiculously unprofessional it was three Waiters inside casually walking around while one guy was working outside and outside was where the most filled tables were..We left and we will never return
My friends and I used to enjoy this place. However, last time I was there, they came up with some bogus rule saying you could not eat outside where the visiting band is playing unless you buy a pitcher of sangria or the like. Everyone had to sit inside the restaurant while the band played outside to no audience whatsoever. No one wanted to be forced to buy sangria (those in my group as well as others in the restaurant.) I can understand if there was a minimum purchase requirement to sit in the specified area, but how can you make it a pitcher of liquor when, like in my case, some people do not drink alcohol? Its not like it was a bar area. That is horrible customer service. And to add insult to injury, my friends and I also got asked to leave the restaurant, although we were paying customers, because the inside became overcrowded. It was their fault that it became overcrowded inside; there were plenty of seats available outside. Its not like we were loitering. We were being rushed out. I would never want to spend my money here again.
We love this place! The food is delicious; the vibe is amazing; the service is consistent and great. Everything about it feels genuine. Not to mention, the decor is exceptional. My husband and I are there as often as we can! Its great to this walking distance from my house! I cant see enough amazing things about Salud!
This one has been on the list to try for a while. I wish I wouldve moved it to the top sooner.Delicious food. I had the sliders and the goat was on point. All three of them I would order again individually. Cant wait to try more of the food!! If youre a hot sauce fan this is the place. They have a few different options, all made in house and full of flavor. The bar service was prompt and on point with a solid beverage offering.A little oasis in Bushwick that is definitely worth the trip. Cheers!!!
I am all about burgers and in my opinion, the Salud Burger is just second to Emily’s burger. I am a regular, I live literally two blocks away, and I usually order take out. I decided to go in by myself and order the burger. They were having a Brunch menu (yes, just brunch, nothing else) but the burger was listed. I asked if it could come in the regular bun, and they told me no, that it will come on a English muffin. I also do not like fried egg so I asked to take it off. When asked about the side I wanted, I told the waitress I wanted sweet potato fries. I ALWAYS get sweet potato fries. She said no, that she would ask the kitchen. She literally went to the kitchen for .5 seconds and came back and said no. Coke was warm, but the glass filled with ice, watering down the soda. Overall, I had a terrible experience. Love this bar, their food is awesome, but the service I got today was subpar, and not being able to order what I wanted rubbed me the wrong way.
Went for brunch served was good but food horrible order some chicken and waffle and the waffle was soo hard and the chicken was dry i been there before never for Brunch the food for my friend was bad too they also need to hiring mire staff because you paid for 60 minutes bottomless mimosas and you have to keep calling the waitress to get served the only have 1 person working there on Saturday .
Salud was a great local find when staying in Ben-stuy Brookyln. The service was prompt, our waitress was extremely friendly and efficient, and the food was delicious. Any restaurant that offers sweet potato fries gets an A in my book, and this was no exception. They were crisp and satisfying! The menu boasts typical fare like salads and burgers. Its worth noting they dont carry hard liquor but offer a nice variety of wines and beer.
Lets start off with how I was greeted waiting 5 minutes to be acknowledged and another 15-20 mins to take my order to drink. Staff is not properly wearing masks and are cleaning tables with “glass cleaner” last time I checked that does not kill covid-19. Horrible experience.
Hands Down the BEST..this is the Cheers of Bushwick...The food is fantastic, the Beer selections top notch, and the service is always on point.Make sure to pick up some of my man Juns FAMOUS HOT SAUCE not suitable for sensitive stomachs..For friends, family and couples. Highly Recommended ...REP UR HOOD...
Their food is amazing, 2nd time going but I just left and felt rushed by the waitress. We left with a heavy stomach, we wanted to stay enjoy more drinks but she tried to take my plate twice w.o asking if I was done & took my husbands plate without asking. Please train your waitresses better, would hate to go again and be rushed.
So I dont like giving bad reviews. Salud is a nice relaxing hangout. A friend of mine introduced me to this spot over a year ago and I enjoy their food. I dont know anything about running a restaurant and I cant imagine how hard it is to keep it up but Im feeling like the workers who are there are not happy with their jobs or their not getting enough tips or paid!!! I over-heard a bartender explain to a customer who was waiting like forever to take his order at the bar that she always has a mean face!! Thats her way of being! Because she had an attitude!! Then me and my friend we were having drinks at the bar until we decided to sit and order food.... we paid our bill at the bar and they gave us a table and were in the forgotten land of never ever to see a server... I got tired of waiting and seeing others get there food who got there way before we did!! I got up to ask for someone to take our order! All together it was almost 2 hrs waiting for service and to get our food!!! I saw a few people remark about it being about race...well we are Boricua so I didnt get that its about that unless its because were not Dominican?? I get a feeling of being overwhelmed!! And not being understanding to the service!! But nevertheless they need to check and find out why this is happening too many times!! This wont stop me from going because the food is on point!! ITS JUST THE SERVICE!!This would be like my more than 5th visit here, So I went for brunch with some friends...food is always awesome and our service was a lot better but and I mean but !!! Greed can make a spot look ugly no matter what they do! We sat by the open patio area we had a pitcher of mimosa with our brunch..which was awesome no lie! We knew the band was coming and thats why we were there... good music good food and good vibes!! Until we were told that we had to order another pitcher if we wanted to sit at the patio area!! We could order individual drinks! We all looked at each other and where like huh. So we ordered a pitcher of sangria which taste ok and after awhile the music is playing and Im shaking my rump we decide maybe we could get some more drinks... we didnt want another pitcher we wanted individual drinks!! Then the server says you cant order individual drinks in this section! We were like dumb founded expressionless because its not like we dont go out to other places... so weve never heard of a restaurant with these practices!!! Well we decided with a bad taste in our mouth to stay and finish our night with wings and individual drinks at another table inside!!! I think that is so stupid because we wouldve spent the same or more had we ordered individually... So with calmness and coolness we ate an paid our bill nicely and left but I doubt if we will ever return....
This place was so disappointing I can’t impair how horrible the food the service and most of all the chef none of the protein has seasoning meaning salt and pepper being a chef myself I disclosed my issue with the chef and his response was to go elsewhere mind you service was beyond ridiculous one person for the entire full house I didn’t get a drink for at least half an hour and wen I did I had to send it bac it was bad and still had to wait for water again I ordered a lil of everything on the short menu and was highly disappointed spend your money in an establishment that will respect your money and you this place isn’t it.
We were craving wings and wanted to catch a soccer game. Not only did Andrea the bartender have the game on auto tune by the time we got there she got the kitchen to serve us wings from the dinner menu. Really great atmosphere and friendly. AwesomeBeer selection too ! At nights this is a hotspot for salsa, tango and merengue dancing fans.
We went to this place based on great reviews but were confused when walking in. Atmosphere and decor is a bit confused, service was nice enough, but the food was exceptionally mediocre. No better than your average Applebees or Chilis, but more expensive. Chicken paillard was terribly dry. Fried banana tasted no different from fried potato. Burger was eh.
So great to have a bar and grill 5 minute walking distance from my house! Just wish they would hurry up and get a liquor license so they could actually be a BAR!Anywho, the food and service at Salud is delicious! I had the yuka fries as an appetizer and the chicken paillard as an entree. I truly enjoyed both. Our server, who I believe was also the manager/owner was awesome! He provided suggestions and was very attentive.I cant wait to visit again and try other items on the menu!
What do you get when you combine great food and drink in a place that draws locals, but is inviting enough for out-of-towners? SALUD!!!The place has a great vibe when you enter. There is a large glass front so you can people watch while waiting for your food or drink. The music creates a great atmosphere to come in relax and forget about life for a while. The staff is super friendly and very helpful in making suggestions on the many dishes they serve. The empanadas and skirt steak were done perfectly and my wife was a big fan of the kale salad. The beer selection is obviously the finest of the local craft beers as well as standard domestics. The wine and beer they serve is a nice compliment and can be paired with many dishes on the menu.I cant wait to return and sample more food and drink from my new favorite place SALUD.
Wow I took my wife for dinner on her birthday to this place after googling and saw so many good review about it. I though it wasnt real what people are saying about this place. Ive been living in Bushwick most of my life and never though they will have such an amazing place. I definitely recommend this place to go eat and spend some time with your love one. The food was delicious. We had Yuquita Frita and Carnita frita for appetizer, yum yum. For main course I had Chicken Paillard and my wife had the Sockeye which is Grilled Salmon both plate we had it with mixed green Salad. I could not be more satified. The chicken and salmon were well grilled and the mixed green salad was perfect. The drink was on point my wife had 2 Mojito and I had 2 Caipirinha. The price was afordable. The staff are very friendly. For my surprise they had a life band playing which made the ocassion more romantic. I will give ( Salud ) a 10 stars but 5 stars is the maximum. You have to visit this Bar and Grill if you live or visit Bushwick.
Well Im going to say the environment is great. Great energy with music and the people are nice. They have a projector thats like 90 inches and a 55 inch TV to watch your sports or major events live while sitting. But I have to say their service of getting the food done and to you sucks. If you think Applebees or IHOP takes long to bring you food. Lmao you are in for a treat. Yeah they are local and all but you gotta be kidding me. All I ordered was empenadas like $5 for 2 of them... and $4 for their Fries. You get exactly 10 small ass Fries (a happy meal Fries are more satisfying Im telling you). My partner ordered the skirt steak and when she got it, it was medium rare bloody. The waitress asked her how she wanted it and specifically she stated to her well done... And for the food a 25 minute or more wait. I finished the empenadas and fries in 3 minutes like a 4 piece nugget with Fries from McDonalds. This is the 2nd time Ive been here and Im writing this review while sitting here and man they are slow. With just getting the food to you. I asked for a coke... okay, the waitress gets the Can and put moderate ice and only puts half the can of coke in the glass. I drank the glass of coke faster than a damn Caprison. I watched her make the drink so Im not bluffing... as I stated I dont bash a place but Im giving you my honest experience and facts upon my money being spent. Oh I got 2 half cans of coke but I got charge for 2 which came out to $4... $2 for each. And 1 can is rated at $.50 a can if bought in bulk... Go to Salud for drinks and get to the bar. Dont go there trying to impress a female or if your really hungry because you will be really disappointed. Slow service even when the place is 1/8 full.
My boyfriend and I asked for vodka sodas and we were told that they weren’t serving liquor. They went on to serve everyone else liquor besides us. No we were not drunk at all. It was our first drink of the night. I have no idea why we were denied liquor but the staff were hispanic and were only serving liquor to other hispanic people, so it seems it was discrimination.
Absolutely horrible customer service !!!I have gone here prior and the first time it was good but the second time it was horrible from drinks to the food , but being that the first time it was really good I gave it another try today. It was the worst mistake !Got there around 11:40 and doors were wide open for service except that they werent ready ! we still went in and sat down for 10 minutes while they set up and in those 10 minutes there was no water set nothing except employees walking back and forth with the ingredients to cook.At that point it was so ridiculous to stay we got up to leace and an employee goes Are you guys leaving ?We said yes and he proceeded to say Ok ByeI had to literally laugh as this has been by far the worst customer service I have seen.So we proceeded to go to my Favorite spot 1332 Industry !!!!
Really bad customer service... it shows that its open until 2am its only 1:07am sign outside light bulbs on the front porch people drinking at the bar my husband and i go in sit for some guy to come and tells us oops sorry were closed ... im like excuse me google said its open until 2am and your sign is out lights on door open an people at the bar... btw we were out celebrating our wedding anniversary baaadddd place

2021-11-13The food was great, I just remember the drinks being the stand out. I think I had 3 or 4 mojitos or margaritas. They were good enough to continue having a boozy weekday lunch.

2021-10-16We had a great time at Salud Bar & Grill. We took advantage of the outdoor seating as we had excellent weather. Our appetizers were we delicious. I really liked the empanadas. I didn’t like my coconut mojito (too lemony for me). My waiter was excellent and checked on us. I will return soon.

2022-06-2910/10 recommend. Great ambiance & service. Dog friendly patio. They have a great happy hour. I cant speak for the food. I only got empanadas - they were definitely not my favorite but the surrounding tables got other things that looked pretty delish.

2022-07-02Went there to have a nice dinner and the appetizers were really good but when I ordered the steak it was horrible. It tasted burnt and like straight oil. I took 2 bites and spit them both out. I told my server, Pedro that I didn’t like the steak and he was being rude and condescending towards me and my boyfriend saying that he had the steak 30 mins ago and it was fine. He then proceeded to be rude towards us until we left. If you do eat there I would suggest asking for a different server or your dinner may be ruined just like mines was

2021-05-05Love this little breezy spot in Bushwick! The Carribean/Latin fusion menu is delicious and compliments their drinks; which also hit the spot! We ordered the Mango & Kale Salad & Carnitas for apps (pictured), a carafe of the House Sangria; my sister & I managed to pour 4 glasses each (not pictured), and Chicken Milanesa w/sautéed veggies (also not pictured). We thoroughly enjoyed every dish, and the atmosphere set the experience off! Definitely a local fave!
