Phenomenal people, outstandingly great food, an amazing service to have in or city of Syracuse. They help the homeless, the poor and the needy, disabled, and not only that anyone who is hungry regardless of circumstance. I am very happy to have been able to receive their help when Ive been in need of it. If you have not been to the Samaritan Center go and see what an awesome outreach they provide our community and take pride in or citys people, their love compassion and charity, their hardwork and generosity.
I go there regularly to eat, and to socialize a little. They serve better food than at the Rescue Mission, especially their breakfasts! Their basic needs closet, helps me save my money for more individual items. They only have about 6 people on paid staff. The rest come in as volunteers. They also have representatives from various community agencies, and such, that provide help or advice to low-income people. Its a place that made me feel like a worthwhile human being. I really enjoy my time there!
Very pleasant. The Volunteer Staff is exceptional! Those people take time out of their personal and Family lives to help. I only wish and Pray that more would realize and understand this. That the Volunteers are doing this because they want to, they do not have to.

This is a awe inspiring place! So cool to walk into. If youre needing a place to donate to, this is great! If you need food, a warm breakfast or take out dinner, this is an inviting place. All people are people here! :)
The Samaritan Center is incredible. They help homeless and underprivileged. Anybody that needs a little assistance and doesnt know where to go. And they have meals 7 days a week. Very delicious cooked meals. And no one is turned away. You can actually feel the love and concern from their employees as well as their daily volunteers who comes from all over.
Best service possible as far as food help with housing and hygiene and stuff for homeless in Syracuse probably because no actual residency. But the employee are the best there! Also although it use to be a church building its not religious business. They still do have all the glass windows and a lot of Christianity statutes and stuff but total in religious which is perfect for me cause I follow the 10 commandments and the first 4 commandments plus a few others clearly explain not to be apart of the church due to the fact they put Jesus and saints and pope on a level of masters over you and have you worship them which God clearly states were to worship God only no one else no making of statutes or cross to pray to or bow down to humans/ saints. So this place is a great help for me with out the burden of a clergyman trying to preach lies or harassing me to believe what they want
Please volunteer here. Its a great place. Its a dinning hall for the homeless and needful. Built from an old Catholic church. So beautiful inside. My family volunteered there it was a good time. We met some wonderful people.
This place is motto is nobody goes hungry and believe me they stick to that Mary Beth and Julie make sure everybody eats also they let you take food home once in awhile the place on the inside is beautiful with all wood tables and chairs. This place serves a lot to the homeless community of Syracuse.
Potatoes are ALWAYS crunchy/over cooked stick makes it hard to chew for the elderly/people with no/bad teeth. This place is truely a blessing! THANKS TO ALL THE VOLUNTEERS THAT MAKE THIS POSSIBLE EVERY DAY
They work hard for us. The volunteers I mean. The food served at the Samaritan certainly puts to shame ANY meal ever served at the Rescue Mission.
This is not your run of the mill soup kitchen. Not only is it gorgeous and spacial, the staff and volunteers will always greet you with a smile and treat you like family. Now for the food... I am a student and I rely on the samaritan center about once a week and i look forward to it every time. There is no set menu, but you can always count on something hot and delicious thanks to the local folks and businesses who donate. I cant think of a more worthy organization to support in Syracuse.
Ive been delivering sandwiches from our company to the Samaritan Center for several years theres a very loving staff that welcomes anybody. If youre hungry go get something to eat they will love you and take care of you there
Samaritan Center speaks volumes of how much one person much less for can make a difference in the lives of others over the past 4 to 5 years Ive had problems with public assistance and social security the comfort that they have provided in my life by knowing that I can always get an extremely good meal 7 days a week has been invaluable the interior architecture of the Samaritan Center can be rivaled by none its one of the most beautiful places in Syracuse as far as Im concerned the stained glass windows are absolutely gorgeous please visit have a meal and be convinced that you definitely want to do anything you can to help Brenda and the other women
This is a great organization the feeds the homeless and those in need. They do so mush more than just feed people. They help find jobs and housing, help with addictions, and counseling. The Samaritan Center always needs volunteers, donations and funding. Chip in any way you can!

They provide food, clothing and some community services to the homeless and poor. They provide a very nutritious meal most of the time. The Samaritan center is a blessing to Syracuse.
Most up friendly place good food and good company and if you ever need like soap cloths etc the people who work and come to help out are always friendly ever hungry or need some help go here

Came to volunteer here. The People who work here and volunteer are very sweet and hard working people. felt honored to be able to help them with their many tasks they accomplish every day
If it wasnt for Brenda and a select few the place would be amazing. Everytime we go there she goes out of her way to be rude, and treats us unfairly compared to others that go there. She should go out of her way to help people that are the lowest point of there lives not make them feel lower and or worse about themselves.
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation has nothing to do with food service; I think what you probably meant to complain about was the assumption that the staff has not been trained in Abdominal thrusts or whats more commonly known as the Heimlich manuver.I for one think what these people are doing fir the community is a true blessing.
I VOLUNTEER at the SAMARITAN, 5 days a week!! For a SOUP KITCHEN the FOOD is GREAT!! Breakfast 5 days a week!! Dinner 7 times a week!! IF you need or want a GREAT MEAL or want to DONATE or VOLUNTEER come on DOWN!!

Rude staff that acted like i was lying when i said that i was my daughters mother and my daughters daughter was in actuality my granddaughter!!!!!! Food was terrible cold raw vegs that couldnt even chew.the lady who was supposedly the supervisor said they only allow families to sit in the section we were in when telling her WE WERE FAMILY SHE ROLLED HER EYES AND TOLD US TO GET IN LINE BECAUSE NO WE WERENT!!!!!!! AND THERE WERE OTHER PEOPLE HER COLOR AT THE OTHER TABLES THAT CLEARLY WERE NOT FAMILY AND APPARENTLY SHE WAS OK WITH THEM BEING THERE IT WAS ONLY THE WHITE PPL SHE GAVE A PROBLEM TO SAYINGUS CRACKERS ARE ALL THE SAME I WILL NEVER EVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE VERY SAD THAT SHE DIDNT EVEN REALIZE I WASNT THERE JUST BECAUSE I WAS HUNGRY.I WAS SHOWING MY DAUGHTER WHO IS STRUGGLING AND NEW HERE TO THE AREA PLACES THAT ARE AVAILABLE THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THERE TO HELP PPL..BOY WAS I WRONG....I ENDED UP LEAVING WITHOUT EATING BECAUSE I REFUSED TO GET IN LINE BECAUSE I WAS FAMILY AND I DIDNT HAVE TIME AND I DID TRY MY DAUGHTERS PLATE AND WAS MORTIFIED AT THE FOOD WHICH ALL THE WHITE PPL GOT THE OTHER NON WHITE PPL GOT CHICKEN AND DIFFERENT FOOD.JULIE WAS ONE OF THE STAFF I COMPLAINED TO SHE BASICALLY STUCK UP FOR THE OTHER WOMEN...HOW VERY SAD THAT THEY TREAT HUMAN BEINGS LIKE THIS ESP WHEN THEYRE ALREADY HURTING AND DISCOURAGED!!!!!!!!! I HOPE KARMA COMES TO BITE THEM IN THE BUTT!!!!!

2022-08-03My Son didnt believe me when I said they made GOOD FOOD ! After Joining me one Evening for a Quick meal He was so Shocked! He said Wow that WAS Good! The Staff there is Amazing I came in with 5 Children we All Ate and they signed me up for FREE DIAPERS!!! There is an Herb Garden on the side of the building I Picked Fresh Basil, Oregano, Rosemary, and Coriander. They are also growing Tomatoes, green onion and peppers.
