Sam stretched and framed a couple pieces for me and did a great job. He takes the time to discuss the different options with you so you get back the product you want. Overall, very reasonably priced, quality work and a great vibe. I will definitely be going back.
I took my Doctorate Degree diploma to Sam’s Art and Framing to be framed. Sam was courteous and extremely knowledgeable in his craft. He has a beautiful high quality selection of custom and ready-made standard frames in all styles. Sam suggested a frame that would match my current Master’s Degree diploma frame and his prices are absolutely reasonable. He’s a master at his skill, of an old-world craftsman and he has a well-equipped studio. I was impressed with his impeccable work and dedication. I was promised and delivered a magnificent framing work which was a work of art in itself. Sam is a talented and gifted master of his craft. The work speaks for itself and it is nothing short of extraordinary. Hes polite and easy to talk to and will definitely listen to any concerns one would have. He is not one to mince words or be vague when explaining anything.On top of that, his prices are definitely reasonable and you would pay an arm and a leg if you were getting the same service in Manhattan.Simply put, hes a master and it shows very clearly in every piece he does.
Sam the owner and his son Sebastian are one of the best framing people I had come across so far. Sam did a beautiful framing job of my antique Indian Tanjore art painting. It looks so beautiful. He changed the original carved wood frame to a contemporary one and fixed a mirror for the carved wood frame. I stood by when he was executing the job and he did a very professional job.

I found Sam on google and he is the man. I found him to be a highly social and personable individual who loves what he does. Which is to take a picture/ photo/ painting or sculpture…and elevate it with his artistic eye…to present it in the best way that can be.He’s a hidden gem in the depth of Queens. Took a huge movie poster to be framed and I’m very satisfied with the professional service. Sam is very knowledgeable in his craft and it shows. I recently purchased at a fundraiser an oversized canvas (64.5” x 29”) entitled “Patria.” Because of the size, I needed to find a framer close to home, so I Googled framers in Flushing. Sam’s Art & Framing was one of the first sites to come up. All of the reviews for Sam were positive, which helped make my decision to go to his shop. As soon as I arrived, I knew I came to the right place. After looking at the piece, Sam made several suggestions and I decided to go ahead with his recommendations. I did want to use a glass that one could barely see, but it was not available for the size of my piece and so we opted to use plexiglass. However, Sam was able to find the glass that I originally wanted. How awesome was that! He also decided to put the canvas in a shadow box. I continued to go along with his recommendations. He said the job would take about a week for him to finish and it was completed right on time. My son said Sam is an “artist” and he proved to be just that. I am so ecstatic with the outcome. “Patria” has a beautiful home. Thank you, Sam. Needless to say, I would recommend Sam’s Art & Framing to all who need frame work.
Absolutely fabulous establishment. I had 2 large diplomas framed and Sam did a fantastic job. The shop is wonderful and welcoming, and my frames were ready quickly with impeccable craftsmanship. My experience at Sams was nothing short of phenomenal!I came in recently and was amazed by the amount of expertly framed works displayed along the walls, showing examples of what can be made with different works of art.When I brought my art piece to be framed, I was not sure what to expect. I have never had art in my home, let alone know what should be done to make it beautiful and stand out.Sam was there to provide suggestions to what should be done and was very patient when I was indecisive when choosing between different styles of frames, matting, and glass. There was a large assortment of the aforementioned and Sam making suggestions was a huge help to figure out which combination works best!When waiting for the framing job to be finished, Sam sent me a preview of the completed work and I was amazed. When I saw the piece in person, I was ecstatic. Sam made the piece of art look so good with the framing and even made me think of an art piece in a museum.If you ever need anything framed, go to Sams Art & Framing! This place is great. I walked with a painting and a frame that needed glass expecting that Id need to drop it off & pay a lot. But Sam took care of it right then & there and the price was super reasonable and way less than expected! This is one of those little shops Queens was built on. Sam is very nice, had some chill music (plus videos of large cats) playing and had some really cool art hanging (and for sale.) Im glad I found this place!

I returned to Sams to have a family member framed. Sam led me to a rather quaint frame and quoted me a reasonable price. I had him frame a much larger lithograph l a while back that hangs in my living room. He does magnificent work.

Found Sam’s Art & Framing via google and I could not be happier. The overall experience was excellent from the point of drop off to picking up the finished product. What a great job Sam did on my mom’s graduation photo from 1929! He cleaned the photo, chose the perfect mat and frame, installed the wire and gave me the right hooks for the wall. It’s just perfect. There is no better framer!
When my wife and I decided to have our artwork framed, we “googled” (like everyone else does these days), searching for someone capable of doing the best possible job. Sam’s Art and Framing Shop came up and since it is located in Flushing, not far from our home, we decided to pay them a visit, bringing along three or four of our favorite pieces. Upon arrival, we noticed and liked the intimacy of the place. Sams is a relatively small shop, very well equipped, and the artwork that is displayed on its walls is indeed amazing!! Upon meeting Sam, the proprietor, his happy demeanor, relaxed ways, self-assuredness and charisma made us feel right at home and very much at ease. Here is a man who is obviously very experienced at his craft, somebody who truly loves what he does. We had a few ideas of our own regarding what we had in mind. Sam made some suggestions which we really liked, so we simply let him “take over.” He showed us a very extensive variety of mattings, framing materials, colors, finishes, etc., which he felt would best fit each one of our pieces. The deal was worked out and we left with a real sense of anticipation. When we got the finished product, we were beyond thoroughly and completely satisfied with the quality and craftsmanship of Sams work! Needless to say, the pieces look amazing on our walls, and we only have one regret: not having had this work done sooner! I would give Sam 10 stars! I have 3 beautiful framed paintings from South America that I felt the frames did not bring out the beauty of the painting.I looked for a framing business and so happy to have found Sam Art and Frames.The owner Sam was so welcoming and kind. Besides the great work that the store does I have to say that Sam is a wonderful person. I am disabled and in a wheelchair, the storefront wasnt wheelchair accessible, but Sam being such a good person is building me and other handicapped individuals a personal ramp to get in the store. I bought a piece of artwork online; I received it as an ustretched canvas. I found Sam on Google and immediately called him to see if he stretched canvases, to which he replied “yes” and advised me to come in with the artwork to discuss how we would proceed with mounting it onto a frame, pricing, etc.I went in and he immediately tended to me; he unrolled the artwork and explained to the T his exact process. The piece of artwork came crooked, which made it much more difficult for him. But he measured it out right in front of me and said that he would make it work.When I received the finished product, I was absolutely amazed by how excellent it turned out. I was amazed by how he was able to straighten out the artwork and mount it so beautifully onto the wooden frame. The canvas was stretched tightly, he had added in two rings with stainless steel wire coated in plastic, and taped on two packages of brass hooks for me to mount it on my wall. I had no idea that he would be providing all of the extra equipment to mount the artwork; I just thought he was going to stretch the canvas and call it a day.The precision that he applies in his work is both impressive and clear in portraying his experience in custom framing. I am extremely happy that I decided to come to Sam instead of a Michaels or any other crafts store. He shows his passion through his work, he keeps a very tight and organized ship in his shop, he gives you exactly what you ask for and delivers the finished product with finesse.You won’t be disappointed by his work. The time that he gets the work done and the quality of the product are well worth the price he charges for it. I will definitely be returning to him to get all of my custom framing done.
If you are looking for a cheap, fast, and rushed job--do not go here. Sam is an artist--he suggests frames that speak to the piece you are framing and mounting. I have been coming here for years. I would not doubt if Sam has talent, but he is also very arrogant. On the day I visited him with a simple framing issue, he was loud, and he openly said to me: I would charge you $20 for what I am going to do for you. 4 nails and a wire... I was thinking to give him some bigger jobs. NO WAY...Sam:You can say whatever now. Just because I do not know much about framing does not mean you can openly insult me like this. I understand I am a smaller minority than you are, but this does not mean you can say anything to my face. I had the upbringing, and self-control not to call a scene. You might have talent, and good eyes, but your attitude on that day I still remember today.
Man I don’t know where to begin, I was desperately in search for a frame store to help me find the best frame for my mother’s painting that is special to her. As soon as I walked through the door Mr. Sam already knew who I was and greeted me like family. The request was short notice, and he stayed late just to help me out. I got to witness him actually make the perfect frame for her piece, it’s a memory that I’ll always cherish.

Sam has a diverse array of frames and mats for any art work or object to be framed. Sam is quite knowledgeable and once he gets to know your tastes, he is that much more helpful with selecting a frame. This personal insight is the benefit to having a professional framer in the neighborhood, and its worth coming here even if you are not in Flushing. There is safe, easy parking around the area, the prices are fair, and Sam can be trusted with what you have when it is irreplaceable.
Used a framing place for over 5 years and when they closed a few years ago I couldnt find a reasonably priced shop that does GREAT WORK... after a lot of searching I happened upon Sams site and read some reviews. After doing a couple frames I was sold. Guy does great work, guides you on matting/frame selection and is very reasonably priced. I recently took out all my signed UFC posters and brought a bunch of them to Sam so that I could decorate my man cave. Keep getting compliments from visitors and I will bie back again in the future. I have had family portraits in regular frames hung on my walls for years. I finally decided to have them professionally framed and I regret not doing this sooner. Sams Art did an Amazing job~I will never go any where else for any framing work! I had to commute over an hour and it was well worth the trip!
I am fortunate to have stumbled across Sam here in Flushing. This is a big-time (an artist, by the way, in his own right) craftsman youd expect to find in SoHo or London or Paris, etc. Fair prices, lasting work, and he gives smart advice on how to best present the item in the frame. There is NO reason to go anywhere else if you want your piece to be preserved and presented beautifully. Weve had precious newspaper clippings, photographs and paintings done by Sam, and plan to return many times for more work.

I was there witnessing the ugly encounter Mr. Kent Olgen had. It was unpleasant and unprofessional at best, and this made me wonder what happened to the owner on that day. Mr. Olgen looked very puzzle and scared. As soon as he paid, he ran out, and bumped into me.

2022-06-21It has been such a pleasure meeting Sam and working with him on a few amazing pieces. Firstly let me say that his shop is quite lovely. It’s like a gallery of sorts with the most amazing art hanging on the walls. The music that’s always playing is so good too; I’m talking really good!!! You can dance while browsing hahahaaa!!!Sam knows his craft and always listens to what you want but will kindly show you what will work better for your piece. I am so grateful for his expertise. He recently framed a beautiful extra large photograph from Angola that was absolutely stunning on its own. Once Sam was finished framing it it is now exquisite. My mom and I cannot thank you enough Sam. You are truly gifted andso appreciated. It’s been an absolute pleasure doing business and my mommy and I will see you soon with some new pieces.

You can see it when you walk in his shop/gallery, and you can see it when he helps customers select frames for their pieces.Sam frames my crewel/embroidery work, which I do from kits from the 1970s. The frames he suggests end up making the pieces look both modern and timeless. His craftsmanship is apparent in the beautifully framed pieces, which are stretched and centered to perfection.Sam has also framed other artwork for us, and we have always been more than pleased. We also enjoy spending time looking at and learning about the artwork displayed in his gallery.

2022-05-14I have been to four art framing places before going to Sams art and framing. It’s a father and son business both outstanding people and explained everything to me and the cost was much lower than the previous framing stores I went to. The work that was done on my 72x24 canvas stretch came out as beautiful as it could be. Also two of the nicest people I ever met. I would definitely recommend this art framing store to anyone. He has a customer for life with me. Highly Recommended !

2022-05-03Great work!Sam did an amazing job on two projects that I had; one was matching a nearly 20 year old frame - which he was able to do, the other project was creating a framed space to mount a large wooden map for tracking travel - this piece looks truly amazing and the extra durability that he built it with has so far held up well to adhering multiple wooden pieces and inserting numerous pins. Both of these only took a week - I couldnt ask for more in terms of quality & fast results!

He took one look at the diploma and knew exactly what frame and what border would look good. I trusted him, and I’m glad I did. In the world, where quality could be spoken of only when things of our distraction are concerned, it is so difficult to find the real thing.The frames are costly, but you could really feel what you are paying for.
