Amazing food & amazing customer service!! Very traditional they give you a warm towel when you first walk in to wipe your hands. I had shrimp soup, duck roll, shrimp tempura roll and veggie rolls, all of it was amazing!!! Im from Brooklyn where they have the best sushi (best food period) and their food is even better than any sushi restaurant Ive ever went to any where and Ive been eating sushi over 15 yrs. Your tastebuds will no regret going here!!
Just amazingTonight we went to what is becoming my most favorite sushi place locally to my house. In farmingville there is a sushi restaurant called Sam sushi thats been talked about on this page more and more often.First let me start off by saying Amanda the owner is the sweetest woman you will ever meet in your entire life. If Im correct on the relationship she is married to Sam. She greets each and every person personally and many by name.I was introduced to Sam sushi by my friend Joe Alessi . I figure if he recommends the sushi there it has to be good. He was right it is top quality. On to the food. We started with edamame. I forgot to take a picture but Im sure you all understand what edamame is. If you dont it is soybeans still in their pod steamed with salt. They give you a generous portion. We ordered shumai which is steam dumpling with we request spicy mayo. I didnt eat those because I typically dont like shrimp but my family thought they were phenomenal. This is a personal decision by me not because anything is wrong with them.My wife ordered chicken and vegetable tempura. It typically comes with chicken tarot pumpkin sweet potato and broccoli. She asked them to sub out the tarot and the pumpkin for more sweet potato and broccoli and they happily obliged. My son ordered chicken katsu which is basically a fried chicken cutlet in panko bread crumbs. He really enjoys it. The portion is huge here and we took half of it home.My daughter ordered juicy dumplings which come out in the steam pot smoking hot. After letting them cool she said the flavor was out of this world. I regret I did not try them.I ordered a sushi dish called tekedon. It is sashimi tuna served on a bed of ice with rice on the side. The tuna is amazing quality and tastes so fresh. I was so happy with this choice tonight. In honor of my friend Joe I ordered a sayonara. A sayonara is a drink that he or his friend created. It was 50% Titos and 50% plum wine. It is a light refreshing drink and very sweet.I cant say enough about this place and the owner. They are open for dine-in and take reservations on Friday and Saturday night. We didnt make reservations and they were able to get us in but many tables were marked reserved. There was one couple that was told 20 to 30 minutes for a table.I know they offer takeout and we have done that many times over covid. I am so happy that we have this place local to me and will be back many times. Dont mind the pictures of me my son didnt think I would post them so of course I have to.
I had a dish called beef soba and it was really delicious and so generous in the amount of beef. I am not into sushi but friends and family that are rave about it. Whenever my daughter comes to visit, Sam’s Sushi Bistro is a must on our agenda.Daughter came to visit and Amanda was very excited when a beautiful rainbow showed up and she ran around the restaurant opening the window shades to share with us all! Her enthusiasm is contagious!
Walking in I did not expect such friendly service. I was treated with a smile and was seated quickly. I usually sitat the bar when I do my reviews. I like to see the chief in action. The chief welcomed me with a smile and after a few minutes, Started me off with a complimentary grilled tuna spicy salad. Usually when given a “ complimentary” appitizer I get worried. As in “is the fish old?” And are you trying to get rid of it. He assured me the fish was fresh and to my delight it was. You can tell by the texture along with the taste and smell.the chief was clean, wearing gloves and constantly cleaning his station he was knowledgeable when I was asking questions about the sushi. My main appitizer was there special. The posideon roll. More American then usual for my taste. But I had to give it a try. Shrimp tempura inside with avacado. And assorted fish and sauce on top. Now the sauceusually covers up the taste of the fish which is why I usually steer away from them. But it was a special. And my first time here. I can honestly say this is the first time I have had an “ American style “ roll that was not drenched in sauce. It was perfectly balanced and did not over take the fish flavor. Amazing, flavorful and delightful. I would order this again. My main course was the Sams sushi. Assorted sushi with 1 special roll. I picked the naurto roll as it is the only one on there special that’s not covered in sauce. There sushi was fresh and honestly was one of the freshest I have had in a while. Their rice was not overly vinigary and was not hard. Their rice was sublime. And lastly. There sushi tasted fresh. Nothing tasted old. I got some Ikura to see if there freshness was really up to par. And it was. I will be coming back not just for the amazing food. But the amazing service I received. Thank you staff and chief of sams sushi bistro.Update. It has been a few months and I must say. The quality and service is still as wonderful as ever. I highly recommend them for any new sushi adventurous people or for those who want to try a new place.
Wish I had photos of all the food we ordered but was too busy stuffing our faces. This place is beyond delicious. We will never go anywhere else in the area for this type of food. Fried rice is to die for!!! We brought our family for our next visit and everyone loved it too. We will all be back. Staff is so nice and attentive and Amanda is so great with kids and super friendly. Do not hesitate to try this place it may become your new go to spot. Enjoy!!!
At first it was an impulsive decision to eat here, as it was on the way from my usual commute. The pineapple seafood fried rice was absolutely phenomenal. Im Malaysian so I know pineapple fried rice, and when I say its good, I mean it.. . Shrimp was perfectly cooked, plenty of seafood, all in all a perfect dish. I will be coming back soon to explore the rest of their menu. Highly recommend.
I saw a review in Newsday of newly opened Sams Sushi Bistro. It mentioned it was opened for lunch. Our office, Emerald Magic Lawn Care, always has a sushi craving so we gave it a try. We were kindly welcomed and cared for throughout our lunch. The food was great. We loved the shrimp dumpling soup. Rolls were Top-notch. Lunch Bento boxes are a good value. We look forward to going back and have already done Take Out for office lunch. I will probably fo take out for dinner on the way home one night real soon too! Good Luck on the new restaurant. Keep up the good work!
Best sushi I have ever had! The quality AND quantity was outstanding. Their sushi rolls are very large and the price is right for them! Service was equally outstanding! Staff is kind and attentive. The atmosphere was relaxing and I enjoyed everything about dining here. This is my new favorite sushi spot!
I just started appreciating Sushi...BUT it has to be cooked LOL Dont know if I will be bold enough in the future to try others. My fav is the BFF roll...well its the only one Ive had here HA! I do see some others I want to try. And who doesnt love Miso soup. Wish I could make it at home. The woman in the front always happily greets you and I notice she remembers customers names. She hasnt learned mine yet but she recognizes me the few times Ive been there. I brought a family friend visiting from Brazil here recently and he loved it!
Had a Saturday craving for Sushi and came across this diamond place. The inside is beautiful, the customer service is amazing and the food was simply heavenly will definitely come back!!!Well 3rd/4th time is a charm and indeed it is, this wonderful place is hands down the best Sushi place ever. The portion sizes are great, the food is clean and delicious, you truly get what you paid for. The customer service is great super sweet and friendly. This is officially my Go To spot for Sushi. If you havent been there yet RUN dont walk, you will not be disappointed.

2022-04-20My husband and I just moved here from nyc. We tried this place after reading good reviews and were very pleased- the restaurant is clean, service is great, and the food was excellent. Everything tastes fresh and made to order. We loved the pineapple fried rice so much that we came back a day later. 😊Forest roll & TNT roll highly recommended 😊The restaurant also takes care in little details- hot wipes when you sit down, candle on the table, and an orange when your meal is over. I very much appreciate the little touches!

2022-06-25Where is my option for zero stars?I went in person to place an order for my family. Ive eaten here before and didnt find it good enough to return to regularly, however, I decided to go today as it was local to an errand.I placed the order in person. When I returned home my own food order was wrong. I called and explained it was not what I ordered. It can happen, but Instead of offering to remake it, I was challenged.I was told it was what I ordered when it wasnt. I was also told if I want it made overId have to pay. This was for a $14 sushi roll. Very basic roll.Seems to me instead of arguing with a customer and insisting they are lying about what they ordered (mind you I order the same roll everywhere) understand it was a miscommunication at the very best by their employee and keep your customer happy. This is basic business 101. Shame shame on terrible customer service with a side of not so great food.

2021-03-23Thanks for joining me for another review! So I have ate at Sams a few times not and I will say this: The food is good.....just.... good. This is not a bad thing but its far from GREAT food and I will explain why. Lets begin! When ordering rolls they give you very little wasabi. Its also the light and fluffy smooth wasabi with zero bite. Places do this to cut food cost and Sams does the same thing. My attached pic is the amount you get with 3 rolls. When you order extra wasabi they will charge you $1. Once again I would be OK with this is it was a good quality wasabi, but its not. Also in there philly roll you will get a sliver of fish. Like a small sliver (see my attached pic). This to me is a big no no. Spicy tuna lacks spice and fish quality of most of there rolls are good and I would say average for a place to stay in business. The best thing I have ordered what the upgraded fried rice in there bento box. Thats not saying much....but good rice is hard to find so its worth noting. They have good reviews and most people will love this place...Im not most people. Thanks for the support and see you on the next review!
